Bakery
“Amazing pastries! Many people in area have Alsatian roots and bakery has an abundance of local cookies, breads, pastries & donuts. Arrive early to get the best selections, they sell out! Donuts might even be warm if early enough. ”

“This is a great cafe located in a charming historic French town. The fresh food, service, and atmosphere provide a truly small town Texas vibe. My wife and I are regular patrons of this little gem nestled on the outskirts of San Antonio. ”

“Small town restaurant with a locals only feel. However, they’re very friendly to non locals and the fried chick is awesome. Think of Denny’s if it’s wasnt a change and had a Tex-Mex and a salad bar. And they also have a bar. All the meat iss from the local meat market and the baked goods are all fresh from the local bakery.”

“Castroville was one of the very first cities to have electricity because of the water mill on site that was converted to generate power. The original hotel is still operated there and had a "facelift" in 2016. ”

“Besides being a nice place to stay (if you want to stay at a hotel) it has a nice bar/restaurant/view as well as a excellent spa. The restaurant has been revamped and has some great new menu items and a decent selection of wine & beer.”
