  • What an absolutely beautiful part of Italy! We had a wonderful week here. The views are just as stunning in real life - even the children were impressed! We always found ourselves drifting back to the apartment for lunch on the balcony. The apartment was very clean, as was the pool area, tennis courts etc. and it was great to have a selection of pool furniture for our own use. We had the pool to ourselves on many occasions. Riva di Solto is a beautiful little village with a great atmosphere & all the local amenities you could need. Some great little cafè's where you can sip coffee for 1€ and simply watch the ferry come and go. I feel like we've been let in on a a wonderful Italian secret. We truly relaxed here. We combined this trip with 2 nights in Bergamo (1hr away) which is a beautiful city, well worth a visit. Carla and Ivan were great hosts and communication was excellent. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

  • Carla and Ivan were very welcoming and attentive to making sure we had everything we needed and providing recommendations of places to visit. Carla was very prompt in communications and provided us with some very welcome water, fruit, teas etc on arrival, which was much appreciated. The view is fantastic, overlooking probably the best part of the lake, which was wonderful to experience each day. The apartment is quite small, but as expected. We are a family of two adults and two teenagers and it was fine for us. Great outdoor facilities, particularly the swimming pool which our girls loved spending time in most days. Neighbours were helpful and friendly. We loved Lake Iseo, a real gem, much less touristy than Lake Garda, just as beautiful and with more charm. Val Camonica was also an extra bonus that is definitely worth exploring. We definitely recommend staying here.

  • After our journey from Milan on a hot summer day, my wife and I were welcomed with a pleasant Lago d'Iseo breeze. Carla was a most perfect host, picking us up from the bus stop and showing us around the property and town, even leaving some thoughtful treats. The apartment is smartly furnished and has everything one could need- including a jaw dropping view. There is an abundance of activities on property and we left with heavy hearts on Sunday when we had to leave a little slice of heaven.

  • I had an amazing stay in riva di solto. The view in the appartement was stunning. I shot some great time-lapses. The hosts were very helpful and kind. I had some trouble for arriving in Riva di solto . I hope to back one day but then in the summer. There are some very good hikes along the lake if you like walking. It is very calm and beautiful. All the best. Michael

  • The Perfect Apartment and the Perfect Hosts. I'll start with the apartment. Without doubt the best view of the lake and we checked everywhere! You wake up to the view from the bedroom too! The balcony is private and has views of the whole lake. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. The village it's self is lovely to sit and have a drink in and there are 2 very decent restaurants just up the hill. Perfect base to explore the lake from. A massive thank you to Carla and Ivan who were so lovely. Ivan met us and explained everything, told us about the area and they were both so helpful when we had a small issue with the WiFi which they helped us resolve. They were easily contactable throughout and could have done more for us. They were so kind to have us come to their home for dinner. You made us feel so welcome. If you are coming to the lakes this is the apartment for you. I cannot recommend the apartment of the host highly enough. If I could I would give both 7 out of 5.

  • What a wonderful trip we had at Carla's place. Carla met us on check-in and showed us around. The view is STUNNING, even when the rain (warm rain) came down for one morning [don't worry lovely sunshine followed for the rest of the day]. The place looks out upon a stunning mountain and lake, and is very private. The pool, tennis court and french boules area is lovely, and it's a very short walk into a small town with everything you need. Our suggestion is to get dinner 250m up the hill at a lovely Italian restaurant, we had spaghetti and then pizza's to go... we were very full, but very satisfied.

    Bertie2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view, clean home, quiet and charming! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax.

    Bryan2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a excellent time at Carla's place. The view was spectacular and the town allowed us to experience traditional genuine Italian hospitality. We would love to come back to Riva di Solto.

Come and stay in your very own 'mini-castle'! Log burner in a cosy sitting room and a bedroom located above the arch, accessible via a romantic stone spiral staircase; Ayton with its pub and village shop just a moment's walk away, the Gatehouse is a retreat like no other. * For additional guest reviews dating from the beginning of June, please click on 'The Host' and then 'Reviews'!
Less than four miles from a dramatic coastline which also boasts unspoilt sandy beaches, the gatehouse to Ayton Castle enjoys an ideal location. Decidedly smaller than its grander 'relation' further up the drive, it combines the comfort of a cosy cottage with the beauty of a castle! The Gatehouse is built out of the same pink sandstone as Ayton Castle (in the archetypal Scots baronial style) and commands a prime position at the entrance to the castle's extensive grounds. There is ample parking space, and guests also have their own private (and enclosed) garden, as well as access to parts of the estate. Sleeping just two, the interior consists of a sitting room with log burner, a small but well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and bedroom. For those who are in pursuit of a little magic, access to the bedroom via a fairy tale spiral staircase should more than compensate for the bathroom being on the ground floor! Recently restored, the Gatehouse is an unusual delight.
  • The Gatehouse is one of the best Airbnbs I have stayed in and we had a great stay. Everything was as described or better, and Diana was a very attentive host who made sure we were comfortable. I would recommend staying here to anyone and everyone. Thanks for a great trip!

    Matt2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Diana went beyond what was expected. It was truly a pleasure having her as our host. The gate house was everything we expected and more. Situated in a quiet and small community for a very relaxing holiday. We could explore the grounds of the castle and saw some huge trees, a quiet stream, rabbits, and deer. We heard an owl hooting... This is what airbnb is all about. Truly a fantastic get away... Would love to come again...

    David2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was extraordinarily helpful both before our arrival and during our stay. She was full of information and enthusiasm. The place was exactly as described and more so. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Bill2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Diana made us feel very welcome and at home, we had a lovely welcome basket including fresh eggs from the castle hens, freshly picked flowers throughout which I thought was a lovely touch. Beautiful place to stay, very convient to get out and about with the A1 just a few minuets away absolutely gorgeous scenery just what we needed. we spent a long weekend there but definitely needed more time to see everything we wanted to during our visit. we will be back! X

    Debbie2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start - and how to keep it short? Well, the Gatehouse is everything you think it will be and so much more. The house itself is straight out of a fairy tale, the setting is wonderful. Ayton is a quiet little village, and the rooms are lovely. What really makes the difference is the care and love Diana put into making us feel welcome; small vases of flowers in the windows, a welcome basket, and lots and lots of thought attention to detail come through to great effect. A magical place to stay and a wonderful host. In a week of unusual AirBnBs this was the best of the best.

    Stuart2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Magical. We were married in Ayton church and the reception at the castle, so after the party we stayed at the gatehouse! Everything was perfect, and lots of little details were just so lovely, from fresh flowers to notes of congratulations, to waving our bridal car away from the church to champagne in the fridge! Diane couldn't have done any more, or been any lovelier. Cannot recommend highly enough

    Peter2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Diana is a thoughtful and gracious host who made our stay at The Gatehouse so special with every attention to detail attended to..a cordial welcome, fresh flowers, a thoughtful hamper and such a pretty garden. It is quite a lovely location and the apartment is so cosy and comfortable. We had a perfect stay and would love to return. Mike and Linda

    Mike2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our host, Diana, gave us the warmest welcome when we arrived. There was even a welcome basket full of lovely goodies waiting for us. The Gatehouse was just lovely, everything we could have asked for. It was warm, cosy, very quirky and we loved our stay. It was a shame to have to come home. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy romantic getaway.

  • A very cozy experience! As promised, we got a wake-up from the bird chirping. Lovely view and we had everything we needed. Even if you might hesitate to take a shower, it worked really great! The fat apple was excellent for breakfast and the Greenhouse in St Kaverne was amazing for dinner!

  • Everything was perfect! We could have stayed there for weeks. It was really something special and a memory I will keep with me forever.

  • I did not meet Jonathan but he communicated very well over the phone and email and we were welcomed by someone else in the house. The Jack Sparrow House was simply perfect, with so many lovely details to rest your eyes on throughout the interior and surroundings. We loved the fire outside and the shower was a real treat! Thank you!

    Lucia2015-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Marvellous stay at the very special Jack Sparrow house! Really unique and inspiring! Thanks!

    Rocco2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Jack Sparrow House is as you'd expect and more! It's so quirky and clever and all the little touches like the hansel and gretal garden, the driveway signs and fairy lights make it that extra special! We spent the day down Kynance cove before checking in which was beautiful! Our evening consisted of sitting outside next to the fire with a bottle of prosecco watching the stars! If the weathers not great and you're willing to drive check out all the coves in the local area! We read previous reviews and took the advice of going to The Five Pilchards pub for dinner which had a great atmosphere and fab food with massive portions! We would love to go back to the Jack Sparrow House again!

  • The stuff of fairy tales ! We stayed here whilst on a UK road trip. Quirky, definitely the most unusual space we stayed in. Very small (as the pics show) but so charming. It had all you needed and was clean and warm. Great location too ! Not sure about the separate shower, but it's all part of the adventure ! Pack an overnight bag to stay here. The host was full of great suggestions of things to do and visit. We do hope to visit again one day...

  • The tiniest house I have ever stayed in. I was able to charge my electric bike from the socket in the house. It has a proper toilet unlike the other residences.. Droll driftwood decor. It was magical waking up and looking through the little window at the ships in Helford Roads.

Stunning views that can be enjoyed from the beautiful dining area and newly added outdoor sofa/pergola. The upper terrace was an added bonus. The house was very clean and tastefully decorated. • Dory was an excellent host. Communication was easy and Dory gave advice on her favourite places to eat. She also put us in touch with her friend Federico who was also On hand to inform us about shopping, travel, things to see etc. the property is delightful and peaceful. Large beautiful terrace overlooking the Adriatic. Peaceful, relaxing yet with all mod cons. Had a great stay and Dory kept checking in to ensure we were OK. Secluded location but within 15-30 mins of all Main attractions on this part of the coast. Thanks Dory, we will be back!

    Richard2015-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic. The location was amazing, we spent all our time outside on the terrace looking over the ocean. The outside was set up nicely with a covered outdoor sofa for 6 people. There was a BBQ which we didn't have time to use. Dory met us on arrival and was very kind. Her friend Frederico was a great help, he helped us organise scuba diving (amazing, highly recommend) and booked us a table at a lovely local restaurant (also highly recommend). The restaurant was in the small town of San Giovanni (I think, check with Frederico) which was the most picturesque town and was lovely to stroll through after dinner. The apartment itself had all facilities required, though it's not a cosy space you want to spend lots of time in. The real draw card is the terrace outside. We had great weather so it wasn't an issue but if it had rained the living space would have been too small for our group.

    Jaimee2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • When I opened the Airbnb page and saw Dory's place, I booked it! It is everything that is seen - clean, tidy, functional home with breathtaking views. Dory does not speak english fluently, but uses email translation efficiently. She also has a friend, Federico, who is 100% reliable with recommendations, interpretation, reservations - anything. It's best to use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) with him. They are an excellent team. For those visiting from the U.S. - lights that don't switch off are on a timer! lol, efficient europeans ***cell phone/GPS service is inconsistently available - Dory and Federico will meet you in a nearby town (probably Corsana) and lead you to her home (not on the map). It's in a beautiful, central location for visiting the area. Puglia is not yet a common tourist destination, but will be soon. We arrived at Brindisi early and drove to see Trulli homes - Locorotondo, Alberobello, Cisterno, Ostuni and arrived at Dory's late in the evening. We traveled up the west coast to Gallipoli one day (Lido Punta della Suina!) and the east coast (Otranto, hike to Baia dei Turchi beach, Lecce) another. On our way to Almalfi Coast, we toured in Matera (with (EMAIL HIDDEN) Antonio Manicure). Bottom line - Dory's place 100% recommend with added benefit of Federico's assistance - very eager to suggest tours, boat tours, restaurants, anything! Not sure it's allowed via Airbnb but any questions, please email me (EMAIL HIDDEN) Ciao!

  • This villa was perfect for us, a large family group of different ages and life stages. Dory, her family and her friend Federico made us feel very welcome and were on hand to provide advice about anything we needed. The accomodation was well equipped and comfortable. The terrace overlooking the sea, where we spent most of our time, was beautiful and provided shade as well as access to sun. There are sandy beaches within a short drive, but the beauty of the coastline is in the dramatic rocks and caves.

    Anne 2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel very welcome by Dory. She left some little extra's in the fridge to make this welcome complete. The house was exactly as the photo's suggest, even better. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms very stylish and well though out with shower gel, soap and other little extra's. Very convenient location for us and the places we wanted to visit. We only stayed one night but will happily book again for more nights on our next visit to Salento. Grazie Dory, Arriverderci

  • Three of us had a wonderful relaxing stay. The house is beautiful and well equipped for all needs. We enjoyed relaxing on both terraces.communication was excellent- dory is learning English and did a fantastic job - for more detailed information she had her interpreter fredrico available. He spent a great deal of time with us explaining towns local customs and restaurants. Upon arrival we were welcomed with delicious breads for cocktail hour and treats for morning coffee which were greatly appreciated. We have been on the road for a few weeks so the wash machine was a huge asset! I can't think of anything dory could do to improve our stay. Thank you for a memorable stay we will cherish our time overlooking the Adriatic! Ciao

Son Marimon, this B&B, is located in the municipality of Selva, at the feet of Serra de Tramuntana, recently declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is five minutes away from Lloseta, a village that offers the travellers everything they need: gastronomy, theatre, concerts, shows, historical neighbourhood, library and public transport –the train will allow the travellers reach Palma, Ciutat de Mallorca, in 25 minutes and Inca, where one of the most important markets of the island take place every Thursday, in 5 minutes. Wonderfully secluded, and still well connected, this 40m2 refugee also counts with 3600m2 of private land rich in autochthonous vegetation. The main characteristic of the house is how little it impacts on the surroundings in order to preserve the nature. Simple designs, hand crafted furniture, clay tiles (typical Majorcan material that tells the stories lived there) and beams create a space where comfort and tradition go together. The inner space comprises a sleeping room area, a sitting room with fireplace, a kitchen with oven, a microwave and fridge and an independent bathroom with shower. The outer space comprises two terraces with a table and hammocks and a big stone table and barbecue and a porch that can be given different uses. The hosts from the B&B Son Marimon will be delighted to help you plan a great range of activities including hiking, climbing, horse-riding routes (there is a possibility of also keeping the horses in the B&B), cultural routes, sailing, excursions to nearby villages or beaches, or any other interesting spot on the island. In conclusion, this is the perfect place to start exploring the island or stop, breathe and rest in total peace, experiencing the flavours of Majorcan countryside.
  • We had a more than lovely stay at Tomeu's cottage. Great location with two sheep as neighbours and the Tramuntana mountains as a backdrop. Charming rustic decoration with eye for details. Great fireplace. And very clean. Would love to return!

    alexandra2014-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The way Tomue described the cottage is exactly as it is. We arrived last week for a whole week in this lovely place. It was just perfect. The cottage is situated in the country side. Very quite night and day! Clean (spotless! ), enough space for two, well equipped with a nice little bathroom, kitchen (including dishes, glasses, fridge, kitchen tools etc), good quality double bed and a big garden just for yourself. The cottage is well located; close to little towns, 3 km from Inca, 30 min driving to bigger towns, beautiful hiking walks and beaches (30 min.) nearby. You can not find it yourself so easily. While we were on the way, we called Tomue on his cell phone and we met him at the train station at Lloseta and he brought us to the cottage. This is a place where you really want to come back. The cottage is charming and of good quality. The owner is very helpful and is a very nice host (in case you do not speak Spanish his son can help out). If you wish for a relaxing time this is a great place to be!

  • We had a fantastic time in Tomeus Finca. It's a beautiful place which has been refurbished with a lot of taste. It's basic in a great way and very cosy. Tomeu and his family are lovely hosts, who make your stay very comfortable. You will get all advice you need.

  • Lovely cottage in the quiet village of Lloseta. Loved the open fired. Place was a good base to go out running/hiking. Tomeu was very welcoming and helpful. He even brought fresh pastries the morning after arrival.

  • We had a fantastic stay in Tomeu's house. The house was very clean and had all the furniture. The surrounding area is nice and very quiet to relax and enjoy. The situation in the centre of the island is perfect to access all the points of interest. A great thank you to Tomeu for his warm welcome and tips!

  • First of all, Tomeu was a great host, reliable and a true representer of the beauty of Mallorca! He was more than generous helping to pay a parking ticket by contacting the local police and always had a special travel advice for the island. His finca is pretty much embedded in Mallorcas nature, which gives you a great spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surrounding while being close to all major sites to discover. He even showed up in the morning to serve some fresh bread! How could a day even start better with such a "cup of true hospitality". Great experience, definitly a recommendation for all calmness-seeking, nature-loving island fans! Muchas Gracias Tomeu!

  • Very nice cottage on the countryside, with a fireplace, good kitchen and facilities. Tomeu is a good and accomodating host. Wifi works on and off due to radio coverage in the area. We had a wonderful time.

  • Amazing place in a quiet and beautiful countryside close to everything. We stayed there for 3 days in the end of February, with kids, unfortunately the weather was colder as expected and rainy so we could only wish for more days on a good weather to be able to enjoy everything - the house, the garden and surroundings. For us - a must to come back when it is sunny and warm and we have plenty of time. Thanks to Tomeu for all, the place is so tasteful, he is a very helpful host and a really nice person.

  • Staying at Xaviers made our stay in Barcelona! Superb location and such a cool appartment! The appartment had amazing decor and was very clean and tidy, topped staying at any hotel. Xavier was always there to help if we needed any tourist information but totally gave us our own space too. My boyfriend and I would stay there again upon returning to Barcelona. Thanks again Xavier!

  • We had a really great time staying with Xavier in his beautifully furnished apartment, which was very centrally located and close to the metro. Our room was very comfy and quiet. The roof garden is a great perk too for enjoying some sundowners. Xavier was a great host, making us feel right at home and giving great tips. He would prepare a breakfast every morning that was really good. We would definitely go stay there again if we went back to Barcelona and would welcome him to visit us in South Africa any day!

  • Located in the heart of El Born and every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest. Very friendly host. Spotless. Perfect. The design- and architecturally minded will feel particularly at home.

  • We highly recommend to stay at Xaviers place. He's a very friendly and obliging person. Xavier made a delicious brakfast every morgning and we felt very welcome. His apartment is very modern and cozy. In the evenings we often had dinner at the terrace on the top of the roof. You will enjoy it!

  • Xavier is a perfekt host. He is super friendly, his breakfast is the best start in the day and his flat is totaly amazing. I think his home is one of the best places to stay and be in barcelona. You stay in the middle of the old town and the connection to all the hotspots are closed. If you want a friendly and familiar home for time, you are right there!

    Anni2012-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. Xavier was very kind and helpful. We felt at ease right away, this was our first experience with AirBNB. He even never lost his cool when I accidentally caused a black out by using a power strip with a surge protector from the US. I highly recommend Xaviers place! It was very neat and well organized. The Off-grid itHouse brings together raw industrial aesthetics with the tactics of green design to forge a new home in the sunbaked wilds of the California high desert.
The Off-grid itHouse is an architecturally significant house, recently noted by Dwell as one of the 'Best Homes in America' and in the Los Angeles Times as one of the best houses of all time in Southern California. The Off-grid itHouse is one of 10 IT Houses built in California, which have received much acclaim such as the Western Home award sponsored by Sunset magazine. Also noted as one of the top 10 airbnb rentals worldwide. This is the prototype for the pre-engineered system known as the IT House. The setting of the house is remote and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions. Amazing views and vistas in all directions. Perfect for design or green aficionados, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway.
Located in Pioneertown, CA, nearby several unique attractions, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace, local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, the Integratron, and other seasonal events.
  • We spent a very relaxing weekend at the house. Would love to go back there sometime. The house was easy to find and we didn't have any issues with water or power. My favorite part of staying in the house was turning all lights off at night and watch the stars from inside the house, so beautiful! Being completely off-grid was a great experience. I hadn't touched my phone in two days and didn't miss it even a bit.

  • I arrived with a jumbled mind and all the weight of the world on my shoulders. I left feeling energized and clear headed. Hands down the most peaceful and relaxing experience of my life. A beautiful house that lends itself to the beautiful desert.

  • Being hosted by an important American architect in her personal, award-winning residence is a rare opportunity. After our lovely two-night stay in the Pioneertown IT House, we had the pleasure of sharing a meal and spending several hours with Linda and her team in her early Craig Elwood designed LA home and office. Later on the flight home, we decided to accept the opportunity to work with Linda to create her next IT House on a hilltop in the Chihuahuan desert overlooking Marfa, TX. If you value responsibility, honesty, intellect, and beauty, then you will be enriched by your stay at the IT House(URL HIDDEN)

  • This house was a unique, comfortable, and lovely way to escape city-life. The view is spectacular, and the house is suitable for either a romantic getaway for a couple or a fun adventure for a small group of people who appreciate good design and alternative energy. I plan to return!

  • Linda is very nice and made out stay very comfortable, easy and amazing, the instructions are simple. You cannot see anyone in your view, it is paradise, the most beautiful house ever built, specially as it is all Eco friendly, we need more houses like this! A Big yurt of 50 m2 in the massif of Wallows in Savoy. Calm down in the middle of nowhere. The view (sight) is 360 ° on baujus mountains (Massif of Bauges). A lot of activities are nearby as trek, mountain bike, climbing and ski. In 30 mn, the lakes of Aix les Bains and Annecy. I know the region perfectly and could advise to you. I let some maps there. The yurt is a circular, good housing environment to get fresh ideas or meditate. A big wood stove warms the atmosphere. It is thus accessible summer and winter alike. In case of snowfall, it will be necessary to finish on foot, in rackets(snowshoes) or in skis according to your tastes. The last part of the way is cleared the snow. In the winter, you will find there a sled and two pairs of snowshoes for hiking. Of information about the area is available with a map of the area at 1/25000 th. Close to the yurt, is a small wooden chalet equipped for dry toilets and a shower to isolate. The wood is at will. The massif of Bauges is a very protected place, with the presence of lynx and many chamoises. The local products are delicious cheeses. Hope to see you soon!
  • We stayed for a week and had a great time at Jean Luc's lovely yurt. The surroundings are amazing. The yurt is really cozy and convenient. Jean Luc was very friendly and helpful. If you want to rewind from the city life then look no further. Highly recommended!

    David2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt is magical, and we had the most wonderful five days there. Blissful isolation in beautiful mountains, with lakes nearby for swimming - highlights include Lake Bourget and Lake Annecy. Jean Luc was an excellent host, and we were so reluctant to leave that we booked an extra night in his wigwam, which we also recommend. We look forward to returning - thank you Jean Luc.

    Harriet 2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was just as we hoped. Really relaxing, peaceful setting. Jean-Luc was incredibly helpful and had great local knowledge. We would recommend it and hope to go back one day. Thank you to Jean-Luc for the experience!

  • We had a very nice week in the yurt really nice to experience a different way of living, if only it had rained less but still a really good excuse to sit in front of the fire drink wine and eat local cheese

  • Fantastic, magical place. Extremely good for a solo retreat. Incredible hikes within a 15-30 minute drive. Beautiful views. Great sound of the cows bells. Perfect. B

  • What an amazing place. So happy to have beeb able to stay at the yurt. The location is incredible. Everything exactly as described. Can't wait to come back!

    Kimsy2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful relaxing break from our city experiences. Our kids (& us) loved cooking marshmallows & burgers on the outdoor fire & picking apples fresh from the tree.

    Belinda2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is surrounded with mountains on the isolated hill which makes you feel as being in some kind of private paradise. I stayed there with my boyfriend for 4 days. We were lucky to have beautiful sunny and warm weather at the beginning of November. We haven't met Jean Luc so his friend Carmen was our host. Carmen drove us around the area, showed us great mountain trails, took us to best fromagerie and chocolaterie and gave us many useful advices. In the yurt we found basically everything we needed and much more like little backpack to go hiking, books about zen and Buddhism, hot stones for massage, bunch of candles...everything to make our stay in yurt wonderful. I highly recommend to go and visit the yurt to everyone who wants to get back to the nature and who wants to feel peace. We'll come back soon for sure!

We invite you to come and visit our beautiful countryside house on the shores of the Douro river. You will have a full countryside experience with our restored rustic house, our farm animals, a salt water 12meter pool and a unique view for the unforgettable landscape of the Douro river.
The house has 2 floors: - In the upper floor you will find the large living room with a wide dining area. There is a fully equipped kitchen for all your needs and also a wood stove if you want to enjoy your food with a countryside flavor. There are three rooms: a room with single bed, a room with a large couple bed, and a room with three bunk beds. Still on this floor you'll find two bathrooms, one of them with a large jacuzzi for your comfort. - In the lower floor there is another room with a large couple bed and a bathroom included. On this floor there is also an area once destined for the production of wine, with a mill, and a space with a "table football" table connected directly to the pool. In the outskirts of our farm you will find several restaurants with traditional food, a good pizzeria which we recommend anyone to try and also a bakery and a minimarket. You will also have the commodities of a 30km distance to Oporto which is now considered to be one of the most cultural cities in the world. You take 30min to get there if you are traveling in your own private vehicle, or if you prefer there is an hourly bus leaving from Sebolido (the station is four minutes walking distance) which takes 45 minutes from one place to the other.
  • This house is amazing. It is on the most perfect little farm complete with fruit growing from the trees, pigs and sheep, and a heavenly view of the river and surrounding valley. We had a wonderful time, even though in late May it was still a little too cold to fully enjoy the beautiful pool... The only thing I would say on the negative side is that there is not really anything in walking distance as the house is quite close to a main and busy road, and surrounded by other houses - so not really conducive to any walks or exploration (though there are some basic services fairly close like a simple cafe, some restaurants, and a market - just not of the picturesque type...). It is about a 1.5 drive to the heart of the wine region, and about 30 minutes from Porto. That said, if you are looking for a beautiful spot to just relax and enjoy the scenery - this is it.

    Lauren2013-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • ‘This house is like a movie set. Everything has a place and the attention to detail is perfect!’ - as said by one of our friends when they arrived at Alberto & Maria’s place. Where to start?! The villa, the grounds, Rosa the pig, the infinity pool, the view of the Douro River, the jacuzzi, the warm welcome, the fresh (URL HIDDEN) all made our holiday perfect. Alberto and Maria were so welcoming they are the perfect hosts. When we arrived, my girlfriend had a sprained ankle so Alberto drove her and our luggage down the drive. The kitchen table was filled with fresh bread, cheeses and meats, then Alberto took us on a tour of the grounds to pick some fresh fruit and veg. We woke every morning to freshly squeezed orange juice from Alberto’s trees, before jumping in the pool and watching the beautiful Douro river below. In the evening we got the BBQ going, drank delicious Douro Valley wine, then headed down to the ‘games room’ as we called it to play table football, darts and cards. We happily did this for a whole week and didn’t feel the need to leave once! We highly recommend staying at Maria and Alberto's, and we would love to come back and visit again.

    Chris2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our holidays at Quinta da Moura were just as wonderfull than expected. Maria and Alberto are such welcoming hosts asking us several times during our stay if we need anything. And, as described in others comments, there have been hosting us at our arrival together with beers, bread, fruits from the garden and ... pasteis de nata. The inside house is very comfortable, renovated and decorated tastefully. It's a bit dark but it is inherent from these traditional houses. The outside is just amazing with a impressive view on the Douro from the terrace or the swimming pool. We were two families (4 adults/5 children from 4 to 9 years). The children enjoyed everything in the house : swimming pool obviously, picking up fresh eggs every morning, bringing back fruits and vegetables from the garden, playing soccer table, building huts in the garden... We, the parents, were very happy to be mainly lazing next to the pool, going for a cafe at the bar juste above the house or enjoying the view from the terrace. The house is located along the Douro in the countryside but only 35' from Porto, 25' from Penafiel, 15' from Castelo de Paiva, nice small city on the other side of the Douro where you can find cafes shops and supermarkets (Lidl and Intermarché) Some of our best experiences/memories during our holidays : - visiting Porto and Gaia - visiting Guimaraes - spending an afternoon in Penafiel - renting a boat for a full day (in Melres) on the Douro with water ski and buoy for the children - buying cooked chicken along the road for the evening meal or the dish of the day at the restaurant in Rio Mau - buying fresh bread and/or fish at the vans coming every morning along the road (the baker is speaking french fluently...) - tasting some red wines from the grocery just above the house - .... Thanks again to Maria and Alfredo for their kindness

    Guillaume2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Quinta da Moura is simply as perfect as it looks and has definitely set our idea of the Portuguese country house. It was a privilege to stay here and enjoy the incredible views on the Douro at all hours, from within the pool or not. Maria Henriqueta, Alberto and their son have been very friendly and welcoming, and made us feel at home immediately. The children were very happy to see the sheep, pigs and hens (our elder son wouldn't have missed his twice-daily tour with Zetó to take care of the plants and the animals). It's also worth mentioning that if you like to try your hand at some Portuguese cooking, you have everything in the kitchen to do so – plus some fresh produce from the garden.

    Nicolas2013-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Little paradise, very well hidden in the Douro Valley.. The house and especially its garden are even better that what we can see on the pictures!! The amazing view... & the swimming pool…& the garden with its many different kind of fruits and vegetables, the animals, all the beautiful flowers… And I have not even told you about the great reception yet (with wine, food, etc.)! This place is more than what we could ever wish for to spend a great week of holidays in the Douro Valley. If you want to visit the Region, I would advice to rent a car. However, if as us you just want to spend a lot of time in the garden doing absolutely nothing except for resting and enjoying the beauty of the place - eventually spend a day or two in Porto were you can easily go with the bus at any time of the day - you can avoid it. The host gave us the contact of a very nice local taxi driver who took us to Penafiel were we did some shopping for the week (he also picked up my mum and my aunts at the airport and took one of them back at the end of the week for only 43 euros each way). Anyway, it was perfect for us that way! I will no hesitate renting this house again with family or friends as the mixt of the view, the calm and the beauty of the place are really rare I think… Enjoy !

  • We had the most wonderfull week in the quinta of Maria and Alberto. What a warm welcome they gave us! They are the most kind people. You immediately feel at home. The house, the view, the pool; everything was beyond expectations. The house is located in a huge, very well maintained garden with animals, fruits and a lot of hidden corners (kids will love the garden)

This bamboo cottage is a secluded eco retreat down a quiet foot path nestled in the rice fields and only a five minute walk to central Ubud. Open air basket weave bedroom with mini loft, modern elegant bathroom and outdoor living area make this a truly unique Bali experience.
This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get. Our main lodge is down a private foot path only accessible to cottage guests. if you choose to join us for dinner, a swim or for socializing with other guests you are welcome to enjoy this common space with a saltwater pool and a swing. :)
This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops, but it feels lost in time and like a total retreat. In the day you will only meet rice farmers and local women blessing the rice. At night you will only see fireflies and hear the rushing river, crickets and the distant sounds of the temple. An evening massage is a great way to end the day at sunset on the terrace. We have an in house masseuse who is available by appointment.
  • Breathtaking view, friendly and helpful staff. This is how I will picture Bali!

  • My wife and I stayed here during our Honeymoon, we never did get a chance to meet wayan, however the staff made us feel more than welcome and did everything they could to make us feel at home. We actually stayed at the cottage, the treehouse, and in the red room at the main house. They were all great, but the Cottage was our favorite, great accommadations in the middle of the rice paddy, with scerene sounds of nature, and ceremonies in the background. If you are looking for a truly unique experience this is the place. When arriving I highly suggest you take wayan's advice and have your driver call ahead to find the place, once you are there and get your bearings you can easily navigate to and from town.

  • To sleep in the middle of the rice fields was a very nice experience! A short 300m curved small road through the fields brings you to the tiny house/room. The house is open so this means ofcourse no airco but a fan. Do realize that the house is filled with small animals, lots of ants everywhere. We didnt mind and accepted that since you sleep out in the open, the clamboo around the bed kept most of the animals out, but some might think this is a bit too much nature. The view all around is very nice, the staff is really friendly, we left our bags during the day as they said it was safe. Nothing was missing so it is safe, only rice field workers walk around and no unwanted other people. Also the breakfast was good, a bit small for me but tasted great! If you like something different than a standard hotel with a natural feel and some animals around go here :)

  • the place is as beautiful as the photos, day and night. showering under the sky and stars was magical. I miss the space and will definitely go back, if you want an unique experience within nature, this is an unforgettable one, unlike most places where they build multiple bamboo cottages in the same compound, this one feel super romantic. host is american, gives you a local phone and is available and quick to help anytime, answers any question, flexible and super friendly. thank you for a real and magical Bali experience Rainy!!! highly recommend.

  • Staying at the bamboo eco cottage was the most unbelievable experience. I was happily greeted by one of Wayan's staff members on the street, who graciously hauled my luggage along a small dirt path through the rice paddies to my dreamy bamboo bungalow. At one point, he even carried my luggage on his head to not ruin the wheels! When we finally arrived to the house, I literally was so awe-stricken that I just started ignoring his comments and directions because I HAD to take pictures of how amazing the place was. The staff member must be used to that type of response because he quietly giggled and let me shoot away. Afterwards, he offered to deliver me any snacks and fresh coffee or tea, which I of course said YES to. After he returned, he told me I could order massages on my patio and that someone would come by in the morning to deliver coffee and breakfast. Once he left for the main house, I was able to really sit and take in what the house and surrounding area had to offer. My favorite part of staying here (aside from the actual design and decor of the house) was that it was so secluded from the busy streets of Ubud. It's completely surrounded by beautiful rice paddies, and the air is filled with the sound of frogs, birds, crickets, and a running stream. The house was adorned with little plumerias and I was able to enjoy a shower under the starry skies. Wayan does have another accommodation further down the dirt path so you may have visitors or workers walking by but everyone was incredibly kind and I never felt unsafe, despite the home having no actual doors. The next morning, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with hot coffee and then a massage on my patio. As if that entire experience wasn't enough, Wayan's staff member went above and beyond and drove me and my embarrassingly big luggage on a borrowed motorcycle to my next accommodation. I could've ordered a taxi or he could've declined after he found out the work motorcycles were being used, but he went OUT of his way to borrow one from a friend to do me this huge favor. I honestly couldn't be more pleased with my experience and would recommend this unforgettable home if you want an out of the ordinary experience that's close with nature :)

  • This was our favorite place that we stayed while in Bali ( we were traveling around for 1 week and stayed at 4 places total). It is an unique experience that we couldn't imagine getting anywhere else. This is the ultimate "glamping" experience. It is nestled down a little dirt path that cars can not pass, so walking is the way to go. We loved exploring the rice paddy fields around the location.... be careful not to fall in like we did! The large open-air shower was a highlight. There is an amazing pool and common area at the main portion of the compound. You definitely need a few days to experience this this location. We were only able to stay one night because of availability but wanted longer. Fair warning, this is not the place to stay if you are not a fan of the outdoors. We were visited by mozzies and the friendly compound cat at night.

  • Out of this world...... amazing place. Don't miss the opportunity to stay at this place. You won't regret it.

  • We had the most amazing stay at Wayan's bamboo cottage. The sounds of the insects, birds, frogs and stream as we drifted off to sleep were unbelievable. The cottage is open so expect critter guests... this is more akin to glamping than a typical airbnb. Though the cottage is charmingly rustic the experience is 5 star! It was truly incomparable. We weren't troubled at all by the lack of security... we just took valuables with us when we went out. Wayan's staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a communal area where they make homemade, local food right in front of you for a very good price. If you take a 15 min wander on a well established path through the rice fields (past the swing) to the next village there is also a wonderful local restaurant on the left hand side of the path.

Near Heian Shrine. Perfect for friends, couples. Walking distance to many historical sites. Bus subway supermarket ok. Great cultural area with museums, theaters, Martial arts center, a relaxing coffeeshop with table outside in the Heian Shrine park area.
It is a Japanese style room, simple and clean. It s provided with the basics for your stay. Free Wi-Fi. Bluetooth. Security lock entrance. Very close to bus stop, supermarket, cafes, restaurants, and many famous spots.
The Okazaki area is one of my favorites with a calm atmosphere and local life style. It s also a cultural area with its museums, library, traditional art Noh theater, a new concert theater with a great bookshop, cafe, restaurant, and Starbucks with table outside too. Famous Shrines and Temples near by. A short walking distance from the beautiful Kamo river, and downtown. Gion, the Geisha district, is just 4 bus stops away.
  • The location is really great. You can access to major sight seeing spots easily on foot/by bus. We enjoyed walking around there. A super market is very close to the room. So we could buy breakfast without a long walk.

  • This apartment is the perfect spot to explore Kyoto from. Walkable to most temples/shrines and several of the bus routes stop right out front. Roxana was a fabulous host. She had some maps laid out with the best places to visit and good walking routes. She gave us some awesome suggestions for seasonal things to do as well. I would highly recommend!

    Morgan2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Roxana was awesome! This apartment is conveniently located close to a few bus stations so you can get out to most of the major sites in the city. Also, a 10-minute walk to Higashiyama Station so you get access to the subway station. The apartment is small, as most Japanese apartments tend to be, but Roxana has furnished it well with maps of the city to help you use the bus and train systems, essential tourist guides, and even coffee and orange juice! Roxana is very communicative and available when you need her, and full of tricks and tips to help you make the most of your stay in Kyoto. Thanks so much!

  • The apartment is clean, cozy and enough big for Japan standard. The transportation is really convenient, just walking down there's bus stop can take u everywhere. And walking few minutes behind is 平安神宫 and bookstore and exhibition etc.We had a good stay here.

  • Roxana's place is in a great location for visiting must-see sights in Kyoto. The kitchen is well-equipped and the fridge was plenty big. Roxana gave us great advice, which made our time in Kyoto very enjoyable. We can heartily recommend Roxana's place for anyone looking for good value while exploring this fascinating city.

    Jason2017-10-02T00:00:00Z

  • Everything was as hoped. The surroundings were stunning and we were welcomed warmly by Kerri-Lea, despite our late arrival. She even offered us an extra day & night for free as the weather was so poor. Excellent hosting. Thanks.

  • This house definitely gave us one of our best experiences in Queensland! The house looked exactly like what it was shown in pictures. The sleeping area was big and comfortable, and can definitely fit up to 10 pax comfortably, and the kitchen was very well-equipped. But our favourite was definitely the outdoor spaces - the BBQ, the pool, the hot tub, the trampoline etc. There were even horses in the fields in front of the house that we could have access to. Overall, it was a great place to have a vacation and some quiet time away from the city! Plus, their pet dog was so endearing and kept coming over for belly rubs. Kerri-Lea was also really friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. A very easy-going lady whom we could approach easily. We would definitely be back again the next time we visit again!

    Gwen2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I spent a week in Kerri-Lea's place. Kerri-Lea was a fabulous host and the place was fantastic. We loved the place very much and my daughter even cried when we had to leave. We will definitely visit again.

Be surrounded by nature and yet have all the comforts of home. Be our guest in this cozy log cabin surrounded by tall pines and mountains, and yet still a short drive to Lake Tahoe and the casinos.
Cozy cabin nestled in South Lake Tahoe perfect for the relaxing or adventure filled getaway. This rustic charmer has evolved over the last 10 years to bring you and your family a warm and comfortable stay. At 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the Lake Tahoe Chalet is perfect for families of up to 8 people. We do consider the family dog on a case-by-case basis, please ask, and the backyard is fully fenced.
The Lake Tahoe Chalet is about six miles from Stateline and the Lake, or a short 10 minute drive. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with no one across the street, with views of mountains and tall trees. There's a large meadow and the Truckee River just a short walk away. The cabin is located in a quiet family neighborhood so PLEASE respect our neighbors' peace and quiet and keep the noise down after 10PM. Also, no parties or groups exceeding 8 are allowed and may even result in immediate eviction and/or loss of deposit.
  • The Tahoe Chalet was spacious and accommodated a party of five quite well. We had fun playing with the board games and loved the beautiful table and antler chandelier!!

    Tracie2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. Close to everything. I will be back for sure

    Leszek2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the chalet. The interior was beautiful and nicely appointed. Plenty of kitchenware, towels, and entertainment options. The large center table is perfect for dining or playing board games. Great experience overall.

    Mark2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I loved their place! Really felt the vacation mode- a nice and cozy home away from home. Best for group of 7-8 people! We had a good time.

    Andrea2016-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Chalet is a beautiful home! The kitchen area is simply spectactular. We cooked breakfast twice before heading out to the lake. Ryan and Darnie were super responsive and made us feel at home before even getting there. We would definitely recommend this location to anyone who wants to stay outside of the hotel/casino scene.

    Amanda2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan and Darnie were totally awesome. They stayed in touch beforehand, offered tons of help and advice, and honestly their place was one of the nicest airbnb's I've ever stayed in. It was almost more like a well-run hotel! Things were clean and directions were clear, the beds were super comfortable and there were extra towels and blankets everywhere. It's also a perfect size for 6-10 people. I loved the big table! Thank you Darnie & Ryan for such a great weekend.

    Madeline2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Lake Tahoe Chalet is absolutely gorgeous. My friends and I came here for our senior trip and had a blast. You have everything you need inside of the chalet. The only thing I could suggest bringing is a fan because it gets kind of stuffy with multiple people in one area. The neighbors are very friendly and showed us local trails we could hike on. Thank you both so much!

    Vicky2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This location is right off of Pioneer Trail. Easy and convenient to get onto Stateline Rd (the heart of Tahoe) without a bunch of traffic. The property was clean and perfect for our needs. There were 3 married couples, so bunk beds are not ideal in this scenario, but we made do. Ryan & Darnie made it easy for us to being our dog along with permission, which we were thankful for. A highlight was the long kitchen table was a great place for everyone to commune, make meals and play games! In terms of upgrades, the cabin does not have A/C and lacks any sort of air circulation. It would be nice if a (working) floor fan was supplied for each room. There are floor space heaters for the Winter though! Also, it would be helpful if the doors had screens. If you open the door to allow air flow, mesquitoes will invade the rooms. All in all, great space. Owners are easy to work with. We would rent this cabin again!

  • Whitt was an exceptional host. Even in the winter, this is a great place to visit. There was even a beautiful Christmas tree in the yurt!

  • Greatest place we have ever been to. Comfortably furnisched, great breakfast, great nature, lovely people.

  • We spent our honeymoon at Blue Ridge Mountain Yurt B&B and had the best time. The setting is absolutely beautiful and Whitt made us feel like old family friends right away. The breakfasts were delicious and I would gladly go back just for the quiche alone. We really enjoyed touring the farm and loved meeting the goats. It rained during the majority of our stay which we soon learned was one of the best parts of staying in a yurt. The sound of the rain on the roof is the most beautiful and soothing sound. We will definitely be back soon, and plan to visit in the spring to see the baby goats! Thanks again for everything Whitt (and family), we are so happy we found your B&B! - Amy & Josh Rodgers

    Amy2012-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit to the Yurt was amazing. It was a wonderful place to get away from the real world. We really enjoyed the breakfasts, the views, the dogs... everything about the Yurt is great. We're looking forward to our next visit!

    Elizabeth2013-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this place for a 4th of July weekend get away with myself, finance and another couple. The yurt seemed to be a great option to comfortably fit the 4 of us. We arrived around 7:00 pm and were greeted by Whitt at the yurt. The property was very serene and tucked away on the mtn. We would suggest this place for anyone who wants a quite getaway with outdoor options readily available. The hosts are very involved on the property and it is not as private as we had anticipated. The dogs barked all night and kept us awake.

    K. Scott2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We're HUGE fans of Whitt, his Yurt, and Shenandoah Park (short drive away). This was our second visit. Whitt is a pro -- discrete, helpful, but willing to show off his wonderful organic farm to guests. Our kids petted goats, collecte eggs, and raved about Farmer Whitt. The yurt is a cozy oasis -- well appointed, quirky without being corny, and a great layout for families. We built a fire, roasted marshmallows, and feasted in the morning on fruit salad and Whitt's home-made quiche. Had great excursions to the park hiking and exploring. All in all, a dream weekend!

    Kit2012-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I just enjoyed my third stay at the yurt. I feel so lucky to have found such a beautiful place to return to. My friends and I started playing a game there called "can you find a single eyesore?" Short game, as there isn't one! It's beautiful, the breakfasts are filling and delicious, and the surrounding area and hikes are marvelous. It's the perfect combination of privacy and feeling like you've been welcomed into someone's very special home. Best night's sleep ever! The rainstick and mini accordion are nice touches too!

    Kacy2012-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the yurt was amazing! We arrived later in the evening, but there was a cheese plate and note waiting for us. Whitt came up the next morning with a beautiful and delicious breakfast, and he was more than happy to recommend fun things to do in the area. The yurt itself is gorgeous, comfortable, and so nicely furnished! The hot tub under the stars is a must... we would love to come back during warmer weather to take advantage of the pool too! Whitt and Martha also gave us a really nice tour of their farm and filled us in on all of the projects they have going. Can't wait to see the Tumnus House and treehouse yurt when they're done!

Located in a small hill, in the geographical center of the city, 8 kms away from Historical center, we have a priviledge overview of Havana, an incredible fresh breeze, even during the summer, and the ambience of a very quiet and typical cuban neighborhood.
  • Thank you both for your warmth and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time at your place and all the staff was extremely lovely. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience local cuban culture while having a little paradise to rest in at the end of the day. xxx

  • Julia & Silvio were extremely kind and welcoming. Their B&B is absolutely beautiful, and the perfect location for a tranquil stay outside the hustle and bustle of central Havana. One note that it's a 10m / 10 CUC taxi to Old Havana and main tourist destinations.

  • Our stay with Sylvia was wonderful. One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had yet. The property is like a true B n B but it's more than that. It sits on top of a hill surrounded by a wall, very safe and very private. I felt like it was a secret spot in Cuba, it is such a unique place and even many of the locals are unaware of it. The breakfast was delicious. There is a charming little bar in the common area, pool, and massage room with very inexpensive massages. The rooms are gorgeous! A perfect mix of traditional and modern. Good air conditioning, modern plumbing and electrical, yet wonderfully decorated and restored to give you an authentic experience. The entire staff is professional and friendly. They arranged very reasonably priced taxis for us. We even did an excursion to Varadero 2.5 hours away, and they got us our favorite driver of our trip, Diego. He had a clean, comfortable vehicle which is not easy to come by in Cuba. wish we had more time to spend with Sylvia, she was lovely. I'd love to stay here again on my next trip to Cuba.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at LA Rosa! Julia is incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. The house is beautiful and has very nice views of the city. The food was delicious and all the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We recommend the suite with the rooftop views of the city!! We will always stay at La Rosa on future trips to Cuba, can't recommend enough!

    Alex2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • La Rosa De Ortega is by far the most welcoming, humbling, and gracious place we found in Havana. It is a fusion between tradition and modernity. The only "bad" thing we felt is that we couldnt stay more and more since we had a long journey hehe. The place is truly magical, never felt this comfortable in the newly emerging hospitality business of cuba. The food is top notch, cant get enough of this place. Julia and all the staff never remove their heartfelt smile off their faces and we got all the help we need. Really one of my best experiences in havana!

  • Perfect! Couldn't ask for a better stay and better experience. Was looking for a clean, relaxing place with a view and got more than expected. Alex and Dennis we're very accommodating and respectful of our privacy. Would definitely consider and even recommend this stay.

  • The private pool house was an amazing place to stay! The pool house has everything you need, amazing views and a pool & jacuzzi to relax after a day in L.A. Dennis and Alex were very friendly and helpful. Hope to come back some day!

  • Hosts were very communicative throughout our visit. They provided refreshments, snacks, toiletries, and a recycling can (which we very much appreciated!). The notes and instructions about the property were excellent; this allowed us to be very self-sufficient and we were able to come and go when we pleased without feeling like we were disruptive. We were pleasantly surprised to see all of the night lighting and decor in the back patio on our first night. Driveway was much steeper than anticipated, but we worked around how to get up the hill without issue. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend their space to others.

  • We absolutely loved DnA's poolhouse. The view was stunning. The house was so comfortable, every little detail taken into consideration. The owners were extremely easy to communicate with and responded immediately when we contacted them. We will stay here again when visiting LA.

  • The pool house is the perfect setting for a couple visiting LA. Dennis & Alex were so friendly and helpful! The pool house was perfect for us - wanting alone time in a peaceful setting. The space was very clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The outdoor pool area was peaceful and quiet and had comfortable lounge chairs in shade or sun to read and relax in. The views were awesome. We went across LA for a couple of events, but the neighborhood had plenty to offer the rest of the time. We ate at a couple of cute old neighborhood restaurants within a few minutes of the house. Also, the new Americana shopping area and Galleria in Glendale was less than 10 min away, which offered a lot of trendy restaurants and upscale shopping. No need to sit in traffic! Dennis and Alex greeted us at beginning and end of our stay, but completely gave us our privacy in the middle. They messaged us to make sure we weren't in need of anything. They were the perfect hosts! We would definitely stay there again, and we are telling all our Texas friends about our wonderful experience!

  • This is so much more than a 'private pool house', it is a haven of relaxation, a beautifully furnished, ultra modern escape from life's constant chattering. Each space - internally and externally - possesses a personality, something unique, something to admire and enjoy. Comfort, cleanliness and modernity coexist seamlessly, creating an environment unlike no other. Each space offers luxuries and extras that go beyond simply hosting, making your stay that more pleasurable, ensuring that initial smile remains throughout. The vistas on offer have to be experienced. Mere words will not suffice. The feeling of seclusion and safety, from entering the gate and parking in your private space, remains throughout your stay, such is the ideal isolation on offer. Dennis and Alex, your thoughtful and generous hosts, ensure excellent communication and guest satisfaction, achieved without impinging on your privacy or space. We were blessed to have found such a hideaway. This is Airbnb at its very best

  • I hesitate to write a review of this slice of paradise, because I want it all to myself! If I had the money, I would buy the property. A truly incredible experience here. Located a mere 15 - 20 minutes from downtown, but feeling quite cozy and secluded in the hills, this pool house comes with a secluded, private back yard with chairs, a couch, a dining table, and a grill (which we used nightly). Neighbors are nearby, but with the tree-lined fences, you will not see nor hear them. It's in a residential area, but feels like a resort. The pool has a stone texture bottom to it that's unique and lovely. We came in February, so the water was never warm enough to swim in, but the hot tub warms up in 30 minutes, and we were in that nightly! Wonderful view of the stars from that hot tub. Amazing view of the hills. Everything is incredibly clean, and the choice of the furnishings in the Asian-styled pool house were elegant and smart. We ran out of the propane in the grill, and the owners had a replacement for us in 10 minutes. I went with my lady for her Birthday / Valentines week celebration, and this was a perfect romantic spot. Great for either couples or families. There's no reason to ever get a hotel downtown with this place so near.

  • Hila and Dai are super nice and the best hosts ever. They helped us a lot and the dinner they served was really delicious. I would recommend the bamboo shoots harvesting, if you have the chance to do it. It's amazing! Everything is just like on the pictures, or even better. :)

Dai and Hila are really nice people, who put a lot of effort in making your stay to an unforgettable stay. We enjoyed breakfast everyday and Dai spoiled us with his remarkable cooking skills for dinner. We would love to come again and recommend this place to anybody who thinks of going there. Thank you very much.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Dai and Hila's home. Hila kindly met us at the nearest train station and gave us a lift, all along the way stopping to show us points of interest. Their home and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and serene; we would have deeply regretted it if we had passed up on it. The home itself, although 90 years old, is immaculately clean and has everything and more that you would ever need. Both Dai and Hila made us feel extremely welcome and helped us in any way that we needed. They're very generous and brought us some delicious tea and fruit in the evening, and some self harvested brown rice before we left. The next morning they even gave us a ride back to the station! I highly recommend staying here, it is a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of city life, and you'll never forget it. Thank you Dai and Hila for a memorable and wonderful stay :)

  • Dai and Hila are very very nice!!!!!!^v^ I can feel their passion and care. They put tenant in a really high priority, they are willing and happy to do anything for us. From the hygiene, the decoration, how they serve us the meal, how they plan the schedule for us, how they turn a klunky house into such a lovely place that we can see today, the snacks that they prepared for us, the ingredients that they use in the meal.............. it totally shown that they have good discipline, attitude, willingness, kindness and thoughtfulness. Their cooking must be tasted! It was really awsome and which is really healthy and yummy!! I had a really great experience in this trip which owe to Dai and Hila's hospitality and excellent arrangements:) I highly recommend you who are reading my comment to choose their house!! P.s if you have more time, rent a car and spend few days in here to experienced the hospitality of Dai and Hila and the real nature !!!:)

  • Daisuke and Hila are the ultimate hosts! The house is beautifully appointed with traditional features throughout. As the hosts live next door they are always there if your need something and offered fresh flowers, yummy biscuits and clean linen everyday. Hila also brought over muesli and yoghurt prepared for all 4 of us in the morning. The house and it's surrounds are fantastic with a flowing river across from the house which our boys (10&8) loved swimming in. The serenity of the forest and the outlook towards the mountains made for a perfect stop over before heading back to Tokyo. We couldn't regard our hosts high enough. Highly recommended. Thanks Dai and Hil. The Goffin's

  • Lilian was a fantastic host who (despite never meeting her face to face) communicated well and made sure we were happy. The accommodation is very central and easy to get to and packed full of essentials making it easy to call a home! Both host and home get 5 stars!

    Sarah2016-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, and everything we might need in the fridge for a nice breakfast. Lilian doublechecked if the heating worked, and even let us check out later the next day. The bed is wonderful with fresh sheets, and the view from the roof top part is amazing. Just be aware of all the tourists while you stand in the kitchen in the morning preparing breakfast :-)

  • We stayed 02 nights in Lilian & Mitch's Cube house. It's so amazing! Location is perfect, one min way to the Blaak station. Great experience! Highly recommend!

    YU2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Though we dont met, Mitch had made all the preparation well and good so we checked in without any stress. Out of this staying in a landmark of Rotterdam is worthwhile, the price is little high but when I say landmark this money worth for it. The place looks exactly as in the pictures nothing to reclaim. Will recommend highly if you guys wanna a memory for life.

  • Our stay at the Cubehouse was fantastic. We unfortunately did not get to meet Lilian in person, but everything was really well arranged and communication via email and phone was always very prompt and clear. The house itself is incredible - the perfect place to stay if you are into architecture and looking for a slightly different experience, very clean, cosy, warm and bright. And a wonderful location - really close to the famous Markthal with awesome restaurants, great vintage shopping area and close to public transport. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to stay there again sometime.

    Erin2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Dream house, the time that we spent at Lilian's apartment was unforgettable. So clean, so comfortable and so welcoming:) very close to all main sightseeings, right opposite Markthale, all the restaurants and bars are around.

    vera2015-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a wonderful and a special way to experience Rotterdam. Location was great with lots of eating and drinking options. We had our teenage kids with us and having the separate rooms was a nice touch. Beds were comfortable. Getting up the stairs was a little tight, but we also had large bags with us.

  • My girlfriend and I have had the pleasure of spending one full week in Suite Mirador. Although from the airbnb pictures our expectations were already high, on our arrival we were amazed: the tower is a small, beautiful world on top of a historical house in one of the best corners of Valparaiso. It consists of three rooms: a sort of mini-living room, a large bedroom, and the bathroom. Overall, we had a view on all the four sides of the house, so we could enjoy the sight of both the bay and the "cerros". The furniture of the space is lovely and colorful, and the colored windows and the glass objects around add much to the enchantment. As if this was not enough, we have been taken good care of by the adorable Señora Nina, who gave us plenty of tips about the city, prepared us rich breakfasts, and always took a moment to exchange some interesting words with us. By the time we left, we felt like this had been a real home to us during our few but intense Valparaiso days.

    Ivano2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay in valparaiso! We felt very welcome and got helped with everything! Thanks a lot!!!

  • We really enjoyed our time in Valpo. The room is even better than pictured. The family is great. If you have a chance please go on a walking or car day tour with Oliver. We felt it really enhanced our understanding of the city and was one of our highlights

  • I travel a lot and every time I pack my bag, I wonder what part of my journey will stand out in my mind. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and it was wonderful. The room itself is stunning with a 360 degree view of Valparaiso. It is cozy, quaint and definitely an experience. Nina, our lovely host would walk up 3 flights of stairs to offer us hot water at night for tea and in the morning lay out a lovely breakfast. She was the most adorable host and she was helpful with suggestions of where to go as well as she helped us a get collectivo on the day we left and even negotiated a price for us. As I said, I travel a lot and I would tell anyone I know to stay here. Do not hesitate. It was a lovely stay.

  • My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The interior of the apartment was gorgeous and the views amazing. The balcony was a perfect spot to catch the evening sun, something that seemed almost impossible elsewhere. The family were very friendly despite our limited spanish! Thank you!

  • We stayed at the apartment one week and wanted more! Everything was fantastic. The Romantic Suite is nestled on the top of the family house on one of the most beautiful hills of Valparaiso. The view from each room is outstanding. It's a little paradise! Apartment is equipped with all we needed and if we wanted anything more we always could ask for it! The adorable grandmother - Ines, was so so helpful. Nina and Oliver are great hosts. The whole family made us feel like at home. Our stay in this house is definitely among the highlights of our trip to Chile. Truly recommended!

Our farmhouse is glad to give you hospitality in the Leccio apartment, it is indipendent and there's space for a couple and a third person. You will discover our organic food production and our natural lifestyle.
An organic, family-run agriturismo enterprise set in the peaceful hillsides amongst olive groves, vineyards and woodlands, overlooking the nearby Tuscany, at an altitude of 480 metres. The stone farmhouse, restored using bioedilizia (ecological construction) concepts, close to the wood, is made up of the main home and of the apartments for rent, each of these consists of: kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
The farmhouse is conveniently located for reaching the most important artistic, archaeological and naturalistic towns in Umbria and Tuscany.
  • Francesco & Luisa were amazing hosts. The villa is really beautiful set on a picturesque farm 5 minutes drive from Citta Della Pieve (which is an equally beautiful little town). The room is very charming and was nice and comfortable to stay in with all utensils for cooking. We purchased wine, cheese and olive oil from Francesco which was all produced organically on his farm. They were also very helpful with info for places to visit in the area, like the San Casciano Terme. We highly recommend staying at Cimbolello and will definitely be back to stay again when we can.

    John 2013-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The farm was a lovely place to stay for five nights. I was traveling alone and had nice companionship from Luisa and Francesco. I walked several times to Citta della Pieve and enjoyed its ancient streets and art, but was mostly content to hang around the farm and relax. The smaller of the two apartments was pleasant and comfortable, with plenty of garden space. It was interesting to experience this way of life. Highly recommended.

    Ann2014-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a week at this lovely farm, mid-October. Since I clicked in my booking, Fransesco and Luisa were very informative and welcoming. And, from the moment I met them, they were the most welcoming, warmhearted and hospitable hosts you could ever want! I felt so welcome :-) They are lovely people, and I agree with others here, even the dogs are super nice! It doesn't matter if you don't speak Italian, they can communicate very well with some English, smiles and gestures. During my stay, a basket with fresh eggs was complimentary in the rustic kitchen, together with nice espresso. In the morning, Luisa came with fresh sheep yoghurt and newly made jam from quince and grape. Delicious! This is the perfect place for those who want to experience the true Italian countryside, and the most beautiful too! The studio is very well made, authentic, clean, beautiful and eco-friendly. It is also well equipped with all you need to make food, if you want that. The wi-fi is working fine (I was working there) by a wall connection. The village is a half hour brisk walk away, but bring a flash light for the return under the stars. Citta della Pieve is a magic village. Very Italian, and not touristic at all. The location is perfect for day trips to Pienza, Montalcino, Castiglione di Lago etc. but I found Citta della Pieve to be the real gem! Try Bistrot del Duca for lunch and dinner (fantastic!), and you will also find a lot of other great places for gelato, wine, pizza etc. People are so friendly there. I highly recommend Cimbolello, but for people who appreciate the quiet, rustic, natural and real Italian country life. Gracie Mille to my hosts! Thank you for the great hospitality, the dinner, the pasta making, and for sharing your paradise with AirBnB. :-))) I hope to return!

  • Amazing. What else can we say? There's so much that we loved about Cimbolello, it's hard to pick just a few things to write about. Francesco and Luisa were warm and welcoming. They were easy to get along with and patient with two monolingual English speakers. Animals! If you love animals, look no further. Two adorable dogs, sheep (I milked one!), a feisty barn cat, chickens, and a charming family of bees. OK the bees were just normal. Food! Francesco and Luisa make the most delicious olive oil I've ever had in my life. Also, phenomenal honey, preserves, pecorino cheese, etc. etc. etc. We also had the pleasure of eating hand-made tagliatelle (made by OUR hands!) with the family. In fact, we felt like our stay there gave us a feel for family life in rural Italy and it was inspiring. The apartment was charming in a rustic fairy tale sort of way. All stone walls. The kitchen and eating area was adorable. Overall the size was just right for two people. It did tend to feel damp--probably the stone--but lighting the wood stove helped warm and dry the space. We'd recommend bringing slippers or thick socks for stone floor and turning down the bed sheets during the day to prevent dampness from accumulating. The farm itself was gorgeous, as is Citta de la Pieve, the small down only a 20 minute walk away. We did not have a car, but we found it easy to stroll into town for an afternoon, take in the sights and return with whatever groceries we needed. Thanks for a wonderful visit, Francesco, Luisa, Sebastiano and Carla! We'll never forget it.

  • We had the most memorable time spent in Cimbolello. Francesco and Louisa are wonderful hosts! We had such a splendid time learning about their self sustaining lifestyle despite the little Italian we spoke... we really admire the way they live. Their ricotta cheese, lavender essence (my favourite), jams, olive oil and wine were all fantastic. We hope to come back again one day but we will stay longer the next time! We highly recommend this place!

    Selina2013-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as we found this charming farm house on airbnb, we know we had discovered something special. All the reviews and positive comments can't make up for experiencing it yourself. It felt great stepping out of busy city lifestyles and getting a taste for something the complete opposite. Fresh air, great organic food and the best hosts we could hope for. Thanks again Francesco and Luisa for making us feel at home. By far the highlight of our Euro trip. ^^

    Sukanya2013-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect for a couple celebrating a wedding anniversary. Francesco and Luiza were a wonderful hosts. I highly recommend to have dinner with them and watch and learn from Luisa the pasta making process. The place was clean, quiet and very rustic. Simply beautiful. Originally we had rented a car but canceled it. The driving in Italy is a bit more ambitious than in the USA. We walked to downtown (about 30 mins each way) and had a wonderful meal at Coppetta Bruno. In my opinion you will need a car here to explore the area better.

    Lyria2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Francesco and his wife Luisa were friendly, warm hosts who were willing to share their lovely farm with us. We got a great tour of the work they do there, and I only wish we could have stayed there longer! The farm is gorgeous, and well placed for Citta della Pieve, though a bit further from Montepulciano than we thought. I wish Francesco and Luisa well for the future, and hopefully we will make it back some day!

Location, location , location! Probably the most famous spot in Santorini, the Sunset views part in Oia. Highlights are the views from the terrace, the sun, being calm!
  • Such an amazing apartment. The view is just stunning. The perfect spot to watch the sunset. In fact, we spent most of our time on the island there. With a view like that, there really wasn't much need to go anywhere else. We had a wonderful time here and everything went smoothly. Panos was very helpful with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • This Airbnb is magic. The sunset view is one of the very best on the island. The tourist crowds flock to a location that is not too far away just to enjoy the view that we got privately! Every evening was filled with wine, beautiful views and a fair amount of privacy (compared to many other spots in Oia that we saw. It was the perfect location for us to round out our honeymoon. As for the stairs- after out initial arrival (and yes A LOT of stairs which seemed almost directionless as newcomers) we got used to getting there and back. The stairs are part of the charm of Oia, but be prepared for a lot of them (free exercise!). Panos was an incredible host and even though we did not get to meet him, we was a huge help answering questions setting up our transfers and even making us a restaurant reservation since we did not have cell service. Definitely worth the money and the stairs :)

  • Very nice cave house in Oia. Maybe I can say one of the best one. Nice view but less traveller. The hot tub is wonderful! Can enjoy it and see the sea view. Fruit is prepared for me. When I check out, Panos send porter to assist to luggage transfer. He is very kind. I love the time spend in his house.

    Bo2014-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a totally cute and cozy cave house! Panos was able to accommodate us on very short notice! He's quite responsive and scheduled our transportation for arrival and departure, as well as the porters for our bags. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay! Those butter croissants were amazing and were our favorite breakfast item! The yogurt was really good too! I highly recommend this place!

    Stephanie2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The best place ever..thank you...!!!

    Nikola2015-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Panos was very prompt and helpful, despite it being the busy time of Easter. The listing was wonderful, and we had spectacular views of the sunset. It was wonderful to drink wine sitting in the hot tub, while watching the sunset. The bed was really comfortable, and the shower was great. Would definitely recommend this to others!

    Alice2015-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • The best sunset in all of Santorini!

    Francisco2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is heaven on earth. The location cannot be beat. Hands down the best place for sunset! The pictures don't do it justice. Can't wait to come back!

    SUNSET CAVE HOUSE IN OIA
    145 reviews
The Balian treehouse is only a 3 minute walk away from the beach. From the veranda you can watch the sunrise in the morning, and enjoy the view of our beautiful garden (900m2) with pool. (when fully booked also see https://airbnb.com/rooms/4875630 its called The funky glasshouse).
The space We have several hangouts in our garden, and our pool is beautiful lit in the evening and turquoise in the daytime just inviting you to jump in. Upstairs is the open living area. The lazy couch on the veranda is overlooking the palm trees (TREEHOUSE) our beautiful garden and pool and has some ocean view aswell. It's the perfect place to wake up and relax drinking your coffee or tea. You can enjoy a nice ocean breeze when you feel its too warm to be outside in the sun or just when you feel the need to be nicely lazy..Inside there is a big (180 x 240) daybed with mosquito net if you need it. Downstairs there is the bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and a second veranda. We have a rain shower with hot water, there is a standing fan and AC in the bedroom. In the bedroom there is a Flatscreen TV with some channels and movies on demand. The TV has a USB plug so you could take your favo movies or series to watch. We also have a dvd player. We use Indihome fiber for the quickest internet in Bali, so you can stream and download. When arriving at his lovely and special village, you immediately feel all the good Bali has to offer you. Balian is a small surfer/relax village it feels like the older days in Bali. We build the house as green as possible with a lot of decoration found in the nature, like the driftwood from the beach. I put a lot of blood, sweat, fun and tears in building this house. We are always busy expanding and updating the house which has to be done living near the ocean!! Although Made and his wife come to clean everyday it is impossible to get this house sterile, due to the openness and wind and just...nature. So this is not a house for a hosophobic! Everything in the village is in walking distance, but if you would like to go for some sightseeing outside the village, you may want to rent a bike. Please, always wear helmets, not only for your own safety but also the Police will check this regularly. If you would like to go out for dinner: (Luckily) There are no DELI's, STARBUCKS or MACDONALDS in the village but we do have enough nice restaurant to choose from. BALIAN SEGARA, TOM's garden (TOMS SALAD!), Astana had the best burgers (and a lot of sports on TV), Pondok Pitaya, DEKI's, BALIAN beach warung, Gajah Mina, Bintang Balian, the night market and others. The night market is nearby and has plenty of nice local food for great prices. Ofcourse there is also the possibility to cook your a simple meal in the kitchenette. Feel free to pick your own fruit from the garden! (depending of the season we have coconuts, lemons, papayas, lemongrass, jackfruit, passionfruit and more to come) The area is really safe but we still have a big fire proof safe box were you can put your laptop and other belongings.
I love the feeling of a small community in this village, everyone knows each other and is super friendly. There is a nice mixture of people, local and foreign and all kinds of ages as well. Since we are not the only one who have discovered Balian there are people in Balian creating more beautiful places to stay. SURFING: Within 5 minute walking distance from the house you will find 3 beautiful peaks. Excellent for beginners as well as experienced surfers. At a 15 minute driving distance you will find Medewi, well known for Bali's longest ride when it lines up on a S-SW Swell All the other surf spots are at a 20 minute - 3 hour drive around the island This village is a great place to start your holiday (be careful some never left) or end your trip.
  • It was absolutely amazing! Even better than the pictures. The view over the palm trees an the ocean, the garden with the pool, the upper dek and six different places to relax. Balian beach itself is also very nice. We ate out every day at the beach at Pondok Pitaya or Toms cafe. Would definitely recommend it if you just want to relax in a small village.

  • The pictures although amazing do not do this little slice of heaven justice. It's truly beautiful. Made was amazing, from arranging a driver for us to climbing the coconut tree to get us fresh coconuts to drink from. The area is so peaceful and beautiful, eating out is reasonably priced we loved the Tekor Bali (which is the nearest) We ended up there for breakfast and dinner on more than one occasion. If you pop in say hi from Andrew and Laura (they are so friendly). If you hire a Scooter, be warned getting it up the stone pathway is slightly hazardous, properly best to leave it at the bottom (lesson learnt). I can't recommend this place enough, we ended up cancelling a couple of day trips we had planned to we could just enjoy this little slice of heaven.

  • The mushroom villa is a wonderfull place for relaxation. the garden is really beutiful and there are coconut, papaya and some kind of maracuja you can eat direktly from it. also there are many possibilitys to lay down in the sun or shadow and just enjoy the day. the pool is really awesome and looks amazing especially in the nighttime. the house is very nice aswell. only the kitchen is a bit small, but its better to get food in the nice restaurants or one of the plenty warungs anyways. we totally enjoyed our time and would recommend this plays to everyone who want to take some quiet time in paradise.

    Michael2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to this Eco-touristic treehouse as our final of four villas during our two week honeymoon around Bali. It truly is a marvelous and cute little house with a spectacular upstairs that is relaxing and wild at the same time. The ocean is visible from the second floor that overlooks the beautiful yard. Putu greeted us wonderfully when we arrived and explained everything clearly. The surrounding area is currently getting developed which did mean that it was easy to walk to several different options for restaurants. We were not surfers so we did happen to rent a scooter (organized for us by Putu at a very reasonable price!) in order to go down to Echo Beach farther East however there is a beach not too far off from the villa. It was a beautiful last three nights at this simple villa that truly communicates the wild nature of Bali. I would recommend this for any adventurous couple that loves to live in isolation and in the heart of more rural Bali away from the craziness of Kuta.

  • My partner Simon and i stayed at the Balian Tree House for 5 days and the photos and description exceeded our already high expectations. The spacious tree house is nestled in between to farms in a quiet area in Balian only 5-10 mins from Balian Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was warmly welcomed by the lovely Putu who was very helpful and a genuinely nice person. This was the first stop on our first ever trip to Bali and the bar was set incredibly high. Thank you for allowing us to experience Balian in your gorgeous property it was truly memorable!

    Stefannie2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are worried that the perfect pictures of the Balian Tree House are an oversell, don’t be. No pictures can do the beauty justice. The homestay was double the price of what my boyfriend and I usually pay in Bali, but several times as enjoyable. Made, the manager is helpful and a pleasure to speak with. We were able to check out the new Glass House as well (you can find this posting on Made’s AirBnB page). It’s similar to the Tree House, but the best place to relax and lounge is downstairs instead of upstairs. The Glass House’s kitchen is outdoors which gives it more of a bar feel than the Tree House. I would highly recommend either place.

  • We had a wonderful stay in the mushroom villa. The villa and the garden with the pool are amazing. It's exactly as nice as on the pictures. We spent a lot of the time at the pool and walking on the beach. There are really nice restaurants around with very friendly staff but most of the time we ate at pondok pitaya. After a day in crowdy Kuta it was like coming home to the nice balian with the great nature. Putu the houskeeper is very friendly and helped us whenever needed. She arranged us a driver and massages. She comes everyday to clean the house but is also reachable by phone. It was the best place we could imagine to spend 2 weeks full of relaxing, expiriencing new things and good food. I can recommend it to everyone who want to feel like in paradise.

  • Staying at the treehouse was quite a memorable & unique experience. It has a homey feeling plus the top balcony is a very good place to meditate or just while away your time. Miryam gave us some welcome drinks which are 2 fresh and cold coconuts left in the fridge. The bed was quite big and she has a big collection of dvds for entertainment during the night. The treehouse is near to the beach but there are only 3 restaurants within walking distance. The sunset at Balian beach is very stunning so do not forget to watch it as u have dinner or a beer at Pondok Pittaya. Miryam including her caretaker Putu and the taxi driver Gusti ensured that we were picked up and sent to the airport at the right time. Overall staying there was a wonderful experience, which a hotel cannot replicate.

It will make getting a confirmed reservation so much easier :) See below (hint hint) -- G'Day from Vinh & Stuart in Sydney! Thanks for coming to check out our listing :) We have another btw... http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/73639 if this one is unavailable "Sydney City Home with Harbour Views"; our spare room in the attic. We're pretty relaxed hosts, and as Sydney's #1 hosts we play an active part in the Airbnb community, but we fully appreciate staying with someone else, in their home home, is not for every-one. We get it, our place isn't for everyone. So we won't be offended if you leave this listing (there's plenty of other great Airbnb listings to choose from that don't offer a hosted experience). As we were among the first Airbnb'ers in Australia (travellers + hosts) we've developed quite an extensive profile based on all the guest questions we've answered over the years. Reading through the description to the end (hint hint), and the "House Rules", will mean you'll find all the important information you need to make your Sydney Airbnb stay a fantastic one. Feel free to send us a message with any question you have about us, our home, Pyrmont, Sydney, or Airbnb... We'd love to hear from you! :D This is not a business, or a hotel. We're casual Airbnb hosts, not hoteliers. This is our family home. We live here. You are not be renting an empty apartment. This is not a 'sub-let'. FIVE STAR STAY - Now here's the most important bit: ** Please use the code words; "Five Star Stay" when you message us about your reservation - Just drop those words into your message to us. Pyrmont is an inner-city village of Sydney, only about 2kms from the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) / Core, right next door to Darling Harbour and Chinatown. https://www.airbnb.com.au/locations/sydney/pyrmont Pyrmont has a relaxed community feel with an inner city vibe. Pyrmont is only about 2kms (10 - 15 mins walk) from the centre of Sydney with an extensive range of local restaurants, wine bars, and pubs. There's some seriously good baristas and cafes right close to our home (Go and say hi to Damien & Tim at Bar Zini - it's one of our local faves). There's five star fine dining right through to greasy-spoon takeaways with some of Australia's finest dining restaurants within easy reach. * Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay * Exhibition and Convention Centres * Sydney Fish Markets * Pyrama Point Park * Jones Bay Wharf * The Star (Casino) with Food Halls, Bars, and the Lyric Theatre * Powerhouse Museum * National Maritime Museum Also (back on the food - notice a theme?): * Two grocery / supermarkets within an easy walk * Also a great wine-merchant (and craft beers) on the end of our street * Fantastic deli Signorelli Gastronomia round the corner * Food stores, grocery, and supermarkets * Pyrmont Growers Market 1st Saturday monthly; farm direct & artisan foodies. Pyrmont was once a thriving industrial waterfront / working port area with ship-building, factories and wool-stores. Over the last decade there's been a considerable influx of new residents and commercial / residential development that has transformed the area into a trendy mix of inner city residents and commercial HQs. For example Goo gle has their Sydney office, the "Goo gleplex" just down the road, as is Fairfax Media, NOKIA, and the Seven Network (TV). Media Production houses, boutique cable TV channels, etc. The UTS (University of Technology) campus, the ABC's Ultimo headquarters (Australia's National Broadcaster), the Sydney Convention Centre, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, are all within walking distance. Sydney University is about 20 minutes walk away (only 10 mins in a cab or bus). Eat, drink, and be merry: Being ex-restaurateurs we'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for a great meal in Sydney. And there's plenty on tap too. You can't walk more than a block in any direction without walking into the front bar of a local pub, or a wine bar, or a great cafe, or restaurant… To give you an idea, there's 9 of Sydney's top 10 restaurants within easy walking distance: * Rockpool * Momofuku Seiobo * Quay * Sepia * Est * Rockpool Bar & Grill * Tetsuya's * Bentley * The Bridge Room And there's plenty of local colour and great tastes whatever your price point or culinary favourite. With a full range of cafes and restaurants in between, right through to the cheap & cheerful Harry's Cafe de Wheels (a late night Sydney institution), Noodle King, and all the vibrant offerings of Chinatown there's no end of options... Modern Australian, Persian, Goan, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Italian, Indian... All at our door Must do's (our local faves) in Pyrmont include: * Bar Zini * Gallon * Blue Eye Dragon * Le Trader * Social Brew * Made in Italy * Vrindavan Indian Restaurant * Hamachi-Ya * Kura * Hannah's Pies * Pioik Bakery * Flying Fish * Signorelli Gastronomia * The Apprentice * Brio * Yuzu * Sokyo * Persian Room * BLACK by Ezzard * Cafe Morso * Little Monk Get the idea? (and we haven't even hit Chinatown yet!) Pyrmont is really close to the Sydney CBD and the other inner city villages: * An easy 10 minute walk into the city centre * Shopping: QVB, TGV, etc… "Lacroix Sweetie Lacroix" * Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, and BridgeClimb * King Street Wharf * Museum of Contemporary Art * Art Gallery of NSW * Sydney Museum * Hyde Park * Botanic Gardens * Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, and the Chinese Gardens * Surry Hills * Paddington * The historic Rocks area * Kings Cross * CarriageWorks Famers Markets @ Eveleigh every Saturday * Pyrmont Farmer Markets 1st Saturday of the month
  • Our stay in Sydney has been great! Vinh+Stuart are such a good host! The location is very convenient..... we can walk to the City, China Town, Fish Market comfortably! It's been great!

  • We stayed in Vinh & Stuarts house for three nights during our three month journey and we felt very welcome right from our arrival. The location is very clean, quiet and is perfect to discover Sydney by foot, as well it has perfect access to public transport, too. We would always stay again in there house and already miss the stunning view from their kitchen. All the best, Caro and Martin

  • Staying with Vinh and Stu was my husband and my first Airbnb experience, and we have nothing but good things to say about it. We spent most of our time out and about, but Vinh and Stu were very accomodating with our early mornings and late(ish) nights, and always available with suggestions for the day or encouragement to try Vegemite. The house was gorgeous and in a great location. Definitely recommended.

  • Vinh & Stuarts place was in a great location for seeing the city. Vinh greeted us when we arrived & got us situated. He was very informative & supportive of us getting our legs under us before jet lag set in. He gave us great ideas for what to see & do. He even loaned us an umbrella because it was raining off & on. We loved using their kitchen to prepare meals(we have food allergies). They gave us our space, but where always available to assist us. We also fell in love with their dog Kenji! What an adorable boy. We would definitely recommend them.

  • We couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay. Great hosts, considerate, accommodating and friendly. Wonderful digs with a lovely view of the harbor and the coffee is as good as they claim. The location is ideal for getting around Sydney and the neighborhood is great for strolling and dining. Sorry to be late, we just returned home on the 3rd. Rick and Lynn

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. We are in a quiet yet convenient location. Shaded by Oak and Madrone trees and next to a Redwood grove, you can enjoy the outdoors from the deck. In the summer, it is cool and in the winter you might get to hear the creek running below.
We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend during the summer, you will need to make your reservation request about 9 months in advance. We do, however, occasionally get a cancellation, so if you want a date that's already booked, you can let us know and we will notify you of a cancellation. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out, We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $145. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $290. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $40 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $35. So for the weekend, it will be a total of about $444. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well.
  • Kitty was very sweet and hospitable and the cabin is really quite charming and cozy. This is a great place to stay while exploring the Santa Cruz area.

  • We had such a great time! Kitty made my daugter and I feel right at home. We decided we will be coming back again in October! Such a unique experience.

  • we were looking for a quiet get away, from the stress of everyday routine, just to relax and have fun. Found Mushroom cabin on airbnb and this is exactly what we were looking for. Got what we wanted.

  • Great place to stay. Different and fun.

    Jonathan2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Not only this place is magic but Kitty made the experience to live in her place an awesome one! She opened her house and garden to pretty much everything that our 2 year old daughter was interested in (which is a lot!). From the green door of the Mushroom Door you can see and feel the impressive Redwoods. For us (especially trying the find the perfect way of having a vacation with a child and still staying an adult) it was perfect.

  • My wife and I decided to celebrate the persian new year by spending it at Michael and Kitty's lovely cabin. Everything there was incredible. Michael and Kitty are the best hosts I have ever dealt with. When I saw them it felt like I already knew then and that we had been friends for years. Although it was raining during our stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and were able to relax to the pitter patter of the raindrops. I am looking forward to our next stay at Michael and Kitty's cabin and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature.

    mohammad2011-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty and Michael's "Mushroom Cabin" was our first AirBnB experience and we couldn't have been in better hands. You don't become a 'Super Host' for nothing and the accolade is richly deserved. We were warmly welcomed, the cabin is fun and very comfortable (even for a 6'5" person!) and the humming bird experience was a special highlight. Highly recommended, extremely interesting to talk to and it felt more like we were staying with friends.

  • We had a great time staying at the dome. Kitty was a wonderful host. The place is clean and cozy, and of course, there is a lot of fresh air! Early in the morning, you could roam around the neighborhood trail in the woods. There is a sense of serenity there; definitely a fun place to stay. Two notes: (1) don't turn the heat too high, it does get really warm in the dome very quickly, (2) if you're tall, the bed is a little bit short, so you will have to sleep diagonally. Thank you :)

A sturdy cabin with lots of natural light, right in a flowerful garden. It will feel like living outdoors, while inside the cabin there is a lingering aroma of larix wood and crackling of the woodstove. This charming garden room has a 180 degrees garden view, with large windows in the front and in the roof. (Full length curtains for the windows allow for privacy.) In the cabin you will find a comfortable bed with good mattress - size 165cm by 205cm and plushy pillows. A comfortable desk and chair, free WiFi – to read or even finish some work. Besides being well-suited for the summer, it is also very cozy for the autumn and winter because of the romantic woodstove. The bathroom and toilet are just a few steps away in the main house. Inside the cabin itself is a faucet for water and thanks to good suggestions from guests there is now a chemical toilet for a pee in the night. A small stream meanders past the front of the cabin. In the evening the garden is nicely lighted and makes for a beautiful sight and there are multiple sitting areas in the garden. And chickens to enjoy :) - no roosters! The cabin is about 8mts behind our house. The location is in the largest natural area of the Netherlands. The area is great for both walking and bicycling (if you did not bring your own, we have two you can borrow). Many short and long walking and biking routes through heathlands, woods and meadows start within a kilometer from the house. Also within walking distance (800 meter) are the town centre (with shops and several decent restaurants) and swimming pool. Lakes (including beaches) are 5 kilometers away. Because of the central location of the town, many relevant cities are easily reachable. Neighbouring the town is a smaller historic city, Harderwijk (5 kilometers). Zwolle, Amersfoort and Apeldoorn are a half hour drive. Amsterdam is a one hour drive. Your vehicle can be parked in our own driveway. We are also easily reachable by public transportation. The train station is a 12 minute walk away, the nearest bus stop is around the corner. Welcome!
  • Bea and Frans are kind people, shame we didn't get to talk more, but there was to much great stuff to do and to see. These are truly great hosts: wake up in the morning and find fresh fruit and vegetables next to your door (placed by them of course) offer to lend their own bikes etc. The garden house is great: we stayed there at the end of December and with the fireplace the place warmed up quickly. It looks great from the outside (you get your own switch for the waterfall / river in front of the hut) and it is very cosy from the inside. Highly recommended!

    Gijs2012-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Bea & Frans were away when we stayed so their daughter was there and was the perfect host! Amazing meals and awesome laid back atmosphere. The cabin itself was so lovely and cozy - the wood stove inside was the cherry on top. Would 100% recommend staying here and would love to come back! Thanks so much!

  • My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first guests of Bea and Frans, and they were great! The garden house is super cozy and perfect in warm or cold weather. As they say in the profile, the toilet and shower are inside but this isn't an inconvenience at all as you're so close. The garden house is made entirely of wood so it smells great!! And the surrounding garden is beautiful. Long story short, we had a fantastic time! The area is beautiful with so much to do. The house itself was great, and Bea and Frans were wonderful hosts- very helpful, informative, and great to just chat with :) I highly suggest staying here!

    Sarah2012-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bea and Frans are amazing hosts! They know how to make you feel like you've been on a long holiday even if you're just staying a few days. Every morning you wake up to another lovely surprise at the front door step and they help where they can :) They were super easy and helpful with the check in even though we were way too late on arrival and there was no stress on check out. There was also a heap of information material in the garden room :) We could even use their push bikes and were allowed to bring our dog! The garden room itself is beautiful!! You go to sleep looking at the stars and wake up after a good nights sleep on a comfy bed looking at the pretty skies... It's furnished with love for details, there's everything you need in there and enough fire wood to survive a winter ;) I would highly recommend staying there, you won't be disappointed but your expectations will be more then exceeded!

  • All was better then perfect!

    David2013-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was a really unique airbnb experience! The wooden cabin was cosy and comfortable. The best part was waking up with the garden view, and you can hear the chickens and birds outside. It was beautiful! Just slight inconvenience that we had to go out of the cabin to shower. But they provide a small chemical toilet if you need to use the toilet at night. Beas and Frans were very friendly and helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable.

    Julvian2015-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience to live in the wood house, so beautiful and romantic!! The transportion is also very convenience. It is so special memory:) Thanks Bea and Frans to hold us:)

    Yaoyao2015-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • We are very happy about the time that we were able to spend in Bea's and Frans' little cosy cabin. For us it has been the most attractive stay in the Netherlands. We had hoped to find some relaxation and actually found a piece of paradise. You have a wonderful garden full of flowers and a little brook burbling along the cabin - the perfect romantic idyll for a couple in love. We always felt safe and sound and unobserved in spite of the big windows. On the contrary - we enjoyed the beautiful sun and moon-view and the spectecular garden surrounding the cabin. The oven gave us a feeling of cosiness on highest level. You as hosts were very friendly, discrete and well organised. Thank you very much for opening your special garden house for us. And thank you as well for offering us your bikes. So we could discover the region around Ermelo - such as the Heideland and its honey scent.

First established in 2010, it is part of a master-planned community of luxurious bamboo villas with distinctive blonde roofs. Entering the house is a feast to the eyes and a showcase at how black and white bamboo can be combined in all shapes and pattern to create a stunning collection of luxurious floors, walls, ceiling, stairs and railings. Even the roof is an innovative arrangement of bamboo shingles. Sunrise House, perched on the edge of the Ayung river gorge, comprises four floors, 3 double bed bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, lounge and dining space with fabulous views, plunge pool, a work space on the top (4th) floor, and fantastic pristine panoramas. • So first thing first. The house is as stunning as the pictures suggest. And once you are arrived, it has a magical feel, a uniqueness that makes it eminently worthwhile. Mirna and the housekeeping team are discreet yet helpful and the food absolutely delicious. The vegetables in particular are beyond words. The house was a perfect hub for our arrival and we spend 2 days not doing much apart from marvelling at the property. Also special kudos for the black lava soap and the natural bug repellent, and the quality of the linens, absolutely marvellous. But, and I am very surprised that this hasn't been mentioned more in the comments, there are a few things that are worth criticising, especially considering the very expensive price that is being asked. 1. communication We had issues getting answers from the managers, and as my wife is celiac, we needed some reassurance about food, which arrived pretty late in process. 2. property The pool was out of order and this was communicated to us not before, but casually during our visit. I don't think that's ok. Also, while the house is stunning, the surroundings aren't exactly as pictured on the Airbnb website. Again, nothing majorly wrong with it, but our first impression was a bit of deflation (quickly eliminated by the house and the view)

  • stay here and and an experience of a lifetime. We are blown away everything about the kind of living. It's other worldly, our kids were amazed, it really is an education for them. It's jungle living with 5 star care. The food the Ketut made from her amazing kitchen is incredible. She always mad the kids less spicy, the Indonesian food is authentic and delicious. (She can also make tasty western burgers and chips if kids need some comfort. We were so well looked after and the house was immaculate, and we came back to clean sheets every day. Wildlife is about you, but the geckos are there to look after all the insects. We didn't see any spiders, just bats and lizards. We were taken to the temples on a special day and Ketut came with some traditional costumes for us all to wear. Honestly I have travelled the world and stayed in some incredible places but this place is by far the best experience of my travels. One piece of advise is to bring ear plugs as the river and the jungle lifer can be loud sometimes. It's magical though!!!

    Tori2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable place. Especially if you enjoy architecture or just creativity and ingenuity. Albeit a bit pricey for the area. It's possible to get something just as comfortable for cheaper, but as I said you go here for how unique it is. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful with any and all requests. Only problem; if you're planning on visiting nearby Ubud often you will have to make your way through bad traffic during the day, up to an hour or longer compared to 20-30 minutes. But that's true of any place outside Ubud. Highly recommend if you can foot the bill.

    Heath2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a special and unique place to stay - it had been a dream of mine for many years, and I am so grateful that it finally came true :) We felt so looked after the second we pulled into the parking lot, greeted by wonderful staff and people to help with luggage - we didn't lift a finger! The house itself was breathtaking, spotlessly clean with fresh flowers on every surface, the fruit basket piled high, and a fridge stocked with drinks. The beds were incredibly comfy with soft sheets and clean mosquito nets (a rare thing in Bali!). The restaurant nearby served delicious food at reasonable prices, and it could be brought right to the house, which was wonderful when it was raining! If you're looking for a very quiet, serene place to chill out for a few days, this is it!

  • Bomboo fantastic!!!! Uniqe experience, must do. The perfection of the building is incredible, all electrical or water pipes are hidden inside the bamboo, which makes you experience a modern home, in a open and airy luxury bamboo hut. There is noise from the river, yes, and there is insects, yes. But that is part of the sensation of Green Village. Thanks. The service is excellent, Eva, helped with everything, and made every suggestion possible. Big help. And our driver for daytrips was excellent to, thanks, Nyoman. You should go on the Bamboo factory tour, and meet fun and nice - Mirna, how can tell a lot. Go there!!! Regards Jesper and Johnny

  • We recently spent 4 nights staying at Sunrise house in the Green Village in Ubud. Wow - it was one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed as it was a total experience not just luxury holiday accommodation. The bamboo architecture was unbelievable & everywhere you looked there was so much detail in the construction of the bamboo. Going to sleep at night in a house with no glass windows in a river valley was incredible with the sound of the river lulling you to sleep. We even had our own resident bats visiting in the evenings. The staff were always helpful - arranging drivers for the day & providing unobtrusive daily service. We also ate delicious breakfasts & dinners all prepared at the Green Village.

  • Brenda was extremely welcoming and I could not have asked for a better experience. The space is exactly as wonderful as the pictures and the locations is in fact "perfect". If this place is available, stay here. Seriously, it's a no-brainer.

  • Brenda's place is extremely clean and exactly as the photos show. Brenda was a great host and I enjoyed my time there. The location was very close to restaurants, shops, and places to have a drink. I did quite a bit of walking around the neighborhood and felt safe. The room itself was just what I needed as a single traveler. Highly recommended!

  • I was grateful to Brenda! I had left my IPad on airplane and where I was staying did not have internet, so I was unable to get in touch with her until I received my IPad back from the airline. This was the day I was supposed to check in and she had not heard from me in more than 2 weeks. She had not given my room away. She was friendly, and her place was really clean. I recommend staying in her home!

    Karen2014-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, I can really say I was NERVOUS at first. But when I first met Brenda and boo(my new bff) the transition from stranger out of the cab into house-guest was quite seamless. Her house is clean and you wouldn't even be able to tell she had 2 cats if you didn't see them or their litter box(which is also clean and strategically placed)! Brenda made me feel like we had always been friends and that I was just staying over for the weekend, perfect host and FULL of energy and life. Gave me maps and listings to explore the city, and made me feel comfortable enough to venture all about. I'm definitely coming back to San Francisco and staying at Brenda's because this was one of the nicest EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE.

The hosts are super friendly and accommodating, they even had birthday flowers in the room for my arrival, really sweet touch! And the location is quite close to the old town, like 2 mins walk. And it also has a pretty petit garden to dine in. A very nice stay in Dali.

Airbnb's fourth "Most-Wishlisted" property across all of Canada, our beautiful loft cabin has incredible views of the Sechelt Inlet and gets all the afternoon sun. The beach is a three minute walk downhill, and our community is very quiet as it sits at the end of the road. Why not come and relax for a few days?
Our cabin has a wonderful view of the Sechelt Inlet. And it is all yours to enjoy. It is an a-frame, and so has a very open layout on the inside. It has an upstairs loft as the bedroom with an attached balcony out front. The bathroom is very bright, having a large skylight to let light in, and it features a lovely claw foot bathtub for soaking in. The cabin is situated very close to the end of the road that it lives on (10kms from the town of Sechelt), so there is little to no traffic to disturb your time away. Be careful, you may have the best sleep of your life here. There is oodles of hiking and mountain biking nearby (Coast Gravity Park is just up the road) as well as plenty of events and festivals to be enjoyed, especially during the summer months. Our cabin is a perfect retreat for anyone interested in experiencing the best of British Columbia. Two people can be accommodated very comfortably, but as well there is a pullout couch downstairs that can sleep two more!
Our cabin is in Tuwanek which is situated very close to the end of the road that runs north along the east side of the Sechelt Inlet. Beyond Tuwanek there is little else besides wilderness, accessed only by plane or boat. As a result, it is very quiet up here with little to no traffic. Right below us is the Tuwanek spit, which is often abuzz with divers. This is where we keep our canoe which is always available to our guests to use. Behind us up the logging road is Tetrahedron Provincial Park, which has plenty of trails and even a series of cabins that can be stayed in for the more adventurous type. It is advisable to have a rugged vehicle to get up there, and definitely chains if attempting in winter. About a five minute drive back towards town is Hidden Grove which has a very lovely, and easily accessible set of trails to be enjoyed by all. And another couple minutes towards town you will find Porpoise Bay Provincial Park which has a fairly nice, sandy beach and is pleasant to visit during the summer months. There is of course plenty more to see and do further away on the Coast. A few highlights include a nice hike about forty minutes from here at Smugglers Cove, hiking/snowshoeing up on Dakota Ridge, a nice drive through Madeira Park or Garden Bay, and a venture all the way to the end of the peninsula to see the standing waves at the Skookumchuck Narrows!
  • We loved staying at the cabin in Tuwanek. The cabin is adorable, and bright and secluded enough to completely forget about life in the city. Everything was well-marked and organized, and Gary and Jen couldn't have made it easier to have a wonderful visit. We never met the cats, but we did enjoy beautiful scenery. We would definitely come back!

    Jillian 2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and enjoyed our time at the cabin. A great place in a quiet location. Gary and Jen made sure we were well looked after and were easy to communicate with. We look forward to going again in the future.

  • The little cabin is fantastic. It has everything - well stocked kitchen, BBQ, heat, and comfy bed. Very clean and all in working order. We took the canoe out for a paddle to the beach - highly recommended! Gary and Jenn were flexible on our arrival and departure. Very great weekend!

  • The cabin had a gorgeous view from the upstairs bedroom window. You could lie in bed at night and see the stars as you drifted off to sleep. Had breakfast on the balcony every morning. The cabin is small but charming - and nicely appointed and decorated. Enjoyed soaking in the claw-foot tub while looking up through the skylight window. The beach is a short walk down the hill - we loved our daily swims. The use of a canoe was a huge bonus for us, which we took advantage of by exploring the bays and beaches close to Tuwanek. Enjoyed meeting Gary and Jen, who were helpful and friendly hosts. We have fallen in love with the Sunshine Coast, and hope we can back to it someday!

  • Could not have asked for more! Location was top shelf (3 min to beach with table and canoe) and the cabin itself it true to the photos. There was a large selection of books to read, movies to watch, and jigsaw puzzles. The sleep I had in that bed was unreal and such a treat. My girlfriend and stayed 5 days and could have done 5 more if we had the time off.

  • Great spot - has everything you need - we got the telescope to work which was really cool. Played Jenga, browsed the books, listened to music, drank wine and relaxed. The sound of the rain on the roof was also really relaxing; we barely left the place on Saturday! Would recommend and would stay again! Thanks Gary and Jen!

  • Awesome!! This cute little cabin was perfect. Pictures were accurate which was nice. I went with my husband and our 2 young boys and they all loved it too. Perfect little get away :) Appreciated the warning regarding the loft stairs, we managed to block if off from my boys so there was no issues. Thank you for the lovely time.

  • This cabin was so cute...I saw it on airBnb and decided Sechelt was where I was going on vacation. Think I am going to choose all my vacation destinations that way. The views were amazing, and the location was vey peaceful. I was traveling alone, and it was a great place to reflect and re-connect with myself. Had a great time!
