Flea Market
“Words fail me to describe how fun this Market is. I don't want to give anything away, just make sure you visit! Again, please be careful with cellphones and cameras walking around the Harbour area, but once you're inside the Market, you're in good, safe hands. Take lots of cash, support local trade and food fair, enjoy local music, buy some curios, clothes, jewellery, niknaks, and meet some locals. A wonderful experience.... (this market is associated with the Old Biscuit Mill Neighbourhood Goods Market in Woodstock, another excellent day's out).”

“One of the best places in Cape Town for cocktails. If you’re under 35 and looking for a place in a great location with good music, seriously decent cocktails, and surprisingly good food – albeit bar food - go here. Please note its best to go from 7:30pm onwards. www.cafecaprice.co.za”

“If you venture out to the southern suburbs and coastline the Brass Bell is a really lovely restaurant on the coastline that serves really good food. My first ever Calamari was eaten here when I was a student. A solid 5*****”

Cafe by day and beer garden by night, plus Rooftop bar, UP YOURS has become the hub of the local music scene, with live DJ's and acoustic sessions every weekend. 73 Kloof street.”

“Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar is part rooftop, part attic in the heart of the CBD in a restored two centuries-old heritage building. The specialities here are the cocktails, the unique wine list, the variety of craft beers and draughts, and the tapas menu. Expect new indie and electronica music. One of the hottest rooftop bars in Cape Town, with a cocktail menu to die for! The service is fantastic, the cocktails are simply amazing (especially the litchi martini), and should you decide to order a nibble or two your tastebuds will be in for a treat.”

“A true Inner City haven, The Village Idiot is a vintage Neighbourhood Bar & Restaurant that enthusiastically embraces South African braai culture. This is a place where we raise our glasses to foolish renegades, adventurous idiots and all the people who refuse to live by the rules of conformity.”
