Burrawang Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Burrawang

This is a converted farm shed, which has been lovingly and creatively transformed using recycled and reclaimed materials, including beautiful old windows and doors. There are three bedrooms - two which have a king bed in each, and the third room has a queen bed with single bunk on top. A very large living area has a wood fire, dining space, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor entertaining/dining space, pizza oven and BBQ. It is set amongst permaculture gardens, on a 160 acre working farm with walking tracks to explore and admire breathtaking views of the Kangaroo Valley. Broger's End is set on the Kangaroo River - perfect for swimming or relaxing by. An absolute haven for friends, families and the beloved pooch if you like. The Shed at Broger's End is accessible by a country road (unsealed but perfectly suitable for all cards) just a short 5-10 min drive from Kangaroo Valley town (6 km). Broger's End is located in the beautiful Upper Kangaroo Valley, which is far enough from the village to be very quiet and peaceful, but close enough to pop in for dinner at a nice restaurant, to visit shops, museum etc. The farm is along the river, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
  • This is Kangaroo Valley at its best. Broger's End is a gorgeous place and we barely left - just exploring the property, swimming in the river, cooking, sipping wine under the fairy-lit patio, playing pool or lounging in the gorgeous living (URL HIDDEN) quite heavenly.

  • Holy Bat shed Batman this place was awesome, so exceeded my expectations. I visited with my daughter and a friend who had just arrived from Canada for his first time and the shed was just incredible. My daughter had a ball and it was the perfect start to my friend's trip not to mention the Canadian influence which was dotted around the interior. Thank you Sarah, exceptional.

  • Ours was a small group of friends who rode their Ducatis down to Kangaroo Valley for a three day stay while we explored the area. Brogers end was perfect for us. Arriving there it felt like we were at your own cool farm shed space. There was no one else around, except the chocks and cows. Silence is a great tonic your soul. Clean, comfortable, with a relaxed lived-in feeling. We quickly found our way round and made ourselves at home - it was perfect for us.

    Siita2015-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant time relaxing, making pizza, swimming in the river and just enjoying this very cool and eclectic place. We will definitely be back

  • A quirky little place with super comfy beds. However I believe it is much too hot to stay in during summer. Very difficult to sleep.

    cherie2017-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Shed @ Brogers End was the absolute perfect quiet, yet creative location for the Enough Said Poetry Slam writers' retreat! There was so much space to spread out, both inside (we used the extra shed space, which was huge!) and around the gardens. It was so cool to have fresh eggs, herbs and veggies from the garden during our stay. Some other highlights include the amazing hemp linen, beautiful decor + design, the books + games shelf, pizza oven and the solar panels that power the entire place! It felt amazing to have 6 people there for the weekend, all leaving barely a footprint of environmental damage :) For extra inspiration, we ventured through the fields to the river and were a short drive from town if we needed anything. Mel was super communicative throughout the whole experience and we're looking forward to returning next year! Thank you so much!

    Lorin2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place!! loved every minute at Sarah and Mel's place... i wont go into too much details but everything you read in the description of this property is there to make sure you enjoy your stay!! Thank you Sarah and Mel. We will be back soon...

    Emmanuel and Hanish2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is breathtaking. I'm so thankful I found this spot as a quick getaway for myself and a small group of friends. Mel was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions I had. The place is so calming, and relaxing! It's also huge! There were six of us, and we found that there was so much room! We had a dinner party one night and made pizzas using the awesome pizza oven. Don't forget to feed the chickens! Make sure you plan your trip if you go, ie. groceries stop as it's tucked away in the valley. But the isolation is really so lovely. Wifi and reception was also limited, but it's all part of the getaway experience. Loved being able to switch off and enjoy quality time with friends. We also enjoyed marshmallows by the camp fire circle that is already set up, it was so much fun!

  • Granny flat was cosy and very comfortable. Very grateful for electric blankets on a very cold night. Had our own garage and private access. We met the owners Kristen and her husband, lovely couple.

  • Our stay at Burrawang was wonderful. Lots of privacy and the garage spot was great to make sure the car didn't get frosted over the cold nights! The apartment was new and very clean and had all the basics we needed. Location was great - short drive to many attractions and very easy to find! We did not have a chance to meet Kristen, but she was very helpful and always replied promptly. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return!

  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was very comfortable. Would love to come back and explore more of the beautiful area.

  • Beautiful location. Lovely flat containing everything we needed for a weekend away. Thank you Kristen for your hospitality :-) Lauren

    Lauren2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Good self contained place attached to the house but seperate in all ways, entry, bathroom and driveway. Very close to the pub and General Store at Burrawang both places good to eat. Clean and tidy. Lovely box of tea, coffee and nibbles in kitchen. Only issue was the TV reception not sure if it's a local issue or the TV, difficult to get the major free to air stations. Being a serious tea drinker, advise others to take fresh milk, long life milk can be limited. Would recommend as a place to stay if visiting the area.

    Mary-Jo2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Really quiet and beautifully presented. Very reasonable price. Definitely stay again.

Our cottage is close to the quaint Historical village of Burrawang. A short walk around the corner is an inviting cafe, the village hotel and the local butchery. A short drive away is all the Southern Highlands has to offer.. You’ll love our place because of the warm and cosy ambiance of the cottage which is quintessential Southern Highlands. Along with the private outdoor space the property is a complete package for a country village getaway.. Good for couples and families (with children).
  • This is by far the best family-friendly house I have ever stayed. Stylish modern x vintage decoration with eye catching blue-and-white porcelains and flowers all adds so much more to our sweet memories. Facilities wise is absolutely 5 star. You will be treated by instant hot water bath and true fireplace burning real wood. Imagine the time you open the door and caught by mouth watering homemade cake left by host and lighted fireplace in the lounge, isn't that cozy? We will definitely come back to live at your place again next time we visiting Souther Highlands. A big thank you to your thorough arrangement. Cathy is a host with tastes. Respectfully, Morgan

  • We had a fantastic stay at Vance Hall. The house is immaculate, beautifully furnished, family friendly and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cathy was quick to respond and lovely to deal with. It was all the little touches, such as the yummy cake, that made for a really special stay.

  • STOP - DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS PROPERTY!! We have used Airbnb all around the world, and this is easily the most immaculate and impressive property we have stayed in. Even the lovely photos don't do it justice, it is literally as good as you will ever get a place to stay. Totally beautiful, relaxing, and furnished to perfection. Cathy went out of her way to ensure we had everything (and more) that we needed - including a freshly baked super-delicious cake on arrival! I don't think I've ever seen a place so immaculately clean either, it even beats 5-star hotels in that department. Burrawang is a wonderfully peaceful & pretty village too, with an ultra friendly family pub (with stunning gardens) just a few hundred metres away, and an equally good (and very popular) cafe housed in the old general stores building. We needed a relaxing weekend break away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney, and Cathy's place MORE than delivered. We often say 'we will be back' with Airbnb, but we say it this time without any doubt. Thanks Cathy!

    nick2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cathys place was awesome. It is beautifully renovated and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. She even left us a cake to enjoy! The beds are very comfortable and the whole house was spotlessly clean. Thanks for a great stay Cathy.

    Julie2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • It's hard to put into words how amazing this place is. It's the little touches from a host that genuinely cares about making the right impression, from the fresh local eggs & bread to the well stocked pantry meant we needed to buy nothing (except some amazing bacon from the local butcher, as recommended by Cathy). The house was beautifully decorated, cleaned spotlessly, well appointed, well stocked and a genuine pleasure to be in. Hard, in fact, to find any fault at all. Cathy was supremely helpful and friendly. Five stars really doesn't really do it justice.

  • This was our first Air BnB experience. Patty's place is just amazing, acres of meandering, manicured gardens and a serene Japanese retreat set amongst it. The studio and gardens are clearly Patty's pride and joy and she was very welcoming and gave us free reign of her fabulous gardens. The photos don't do it justice. The studio itself was warm and comfortable and Patty had thoughtfully put some music on and warmed up the coffee machine for us. The location is peaceful and rural so you feel like you're a million miles away, but it's still nice and close to Bowral and Kangaroo Valley, I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for helping to make our 10 year anniversary extra special!

  • Great place

    Jason2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Patty was very friendly and accommodating. We booked the studio but were given the option of staying in the cottage as it was available, we stayed in the cottage. The cottage was very comfortable with a fireplace and really comfy bedding. It was well equipped with a kitchen and food such as fresh eggs, bacon, milk, juice, cookies and drinking water. We were provided with plenty of firewood to keep us warm at night and there are dvd's to watch. The gardens were immaculately maintained and were really beautiful. The lake and surrounding trees are very picturesque and was a nice place to relax. There is a japanese garden and fernery to explore and many acres of property to take a stroll through. They have 2 cats and a dog that were all very friendly and enjoyed the attention from us. My wife and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and we not only hope to return some day but also send our parents there for a weekend. Thanks Patty for a fantastic stay.

The cottage offers 3 bedrooms, the main with a king bed and parents retreat, the second a double bed, and the third a double bed with single bunk above. All beds have quality linen and electric blankets for the colder nights so common in the highlands. The sofa in the sun room converts to a double bed should further bedding be required. The kitchen is equipped with all the conveniences you would expect, including a dishwasher, microwave oven, electric stove and cooktop and a Nespresso coffee machine and pods. The open plan layout makes it easy for groups to be together, whilst offering enough private spaces and reading nooks should you desire peace and quiet. The slow combustion fire provides both warmth and atmosphere, with firewood supplied. The reverse cycle air-conditioner compliments the wood burner and will keep you warm while the fire gets established. The enormous north facing deck houses the Weber BBQ (gas supplied) and is the ideal location for a lazy afternoon or evening with friends. The garden is a lush wonderland providing shade and adventure for young and old alike.
There is much to do and see while you're in Burrawang. Including: - Dining at the Burrawang Village Hotel (possibly the best beer garden I've experienced) - Visiting beautiful Carrington Falls - Shopping at the Cheese Factory (an emporium in Robertson) - The Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk - Visiting award winning wineries
  • We had a lovely weekend at Lark cottage, it suited our needs perfectly. There was plenty of room for us all and the fireplace kept us cosy and warm.

  • A great place for quiet relaxation and to visit this beautiful area. We went there as a group and found it very comfortable. We had BBQs at night and ate out on the patio, and watched the birds over breakfast while the kids played in the yard. The whole house was very clean and had all the necessary amenities, from the kitchen to the bathroom. The area is quiet and residential, make sure to visit the general store for great food and old-time atmosphere. We asked Belinda for wineries she could recommend and all of her ideas turned out to be excellent. Thank you so much for a wonderful time, Belinda!

  • Stayed for a weekend on very short notice with my family. Very good communication with Belinda, house was pre-air-conditioned when we arrived (it was a scorching hot day) and there were lots of toddler-friendly things in the house. A+ would stay again!

Lothlorien is a 100 acre property in Wildes Meadow that formerly operated as a dairy farm and now runs around 50 head of Angus cattle. The four-bedroom former workers' quarters was tastefully renovated and refurbished throughout in 2014.
The former workers' quarters at Lothlorien was completely renovated and refurbished in 2014 and features four spacious bedrooms, two rooms with queen beds and two with a pair of singles in each (all linen supplied). Of the two queen bedrooms, one opens up directly onto the back deck with views over one of the property's sprawling paddocks, while the other features a brand new ensuite with his and hers wash basins and a free-standing bath. The ample kitchen features Smeg appliances, quality cooking implements and a huge double-door fridge for keeping all your wine chilled and your produce fresh. It really is a foodie's dream. An enormous leather L-shaped sofa is the perfect place to relax in front of the wood fire (or the television, if you must) in the spacious lounge area, which opens up onto a wrap-around deck with a barbecue, large outdoor dining table and views over the rolling pastures. The property has central heating throughout and there's also an external laundry with Miele washing machine and dryer. Lothlorien's beautiful grounds feature an extensive water garden with two main dams that are stocked with silver perch and bass that guests are welcome to fish . Wildlife lovers will enjoy a morning stroll around the sprawling grounds with sightings of Crimson Rosellas, Eastern Spinebills, Satin Bowerbirds, Gang-gang Cockatoos, Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos, Superb Fairy-wrens, Eastern Whipbirds and many other species not uncommon. If you're up early enough you may even encounter a friendly wombat or two. There's also a well-maintained herb/vegetable garden just metres from the front door where you can pick fresh mint for your mojitos and all the rosemary you need for your lamb roast (there's also a potato farm across the road that sells bags of the world's best spuds). Lothlorien really is the perfect retreat for families, foodies and couples looking for a romantic weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Wildes Meadow is a quiet country area and the locals are incredibly friendly. The nearby Burrawang village is home to a fantastic little pub and a quaint restaurant/cafe to address your caffeine withdrawals. Other local highlights include Kangaroo Valley, Fitzroy Falls, Belmore Falls, the pie shop and cheese factory at Robertson (and the big potato, of course) and the villages of Moss Vale and Bowral. It should also be noted that the potato farm across the road from Lothlorien sells bags of the best potatoes ever pulled from the soil.
  • What an abolsutely beautiful place. Hope we have another reason to stay again soon! House was well set up- lovely towels, full kitchen for cooking, comfy beds. Great for kids/babies too- swing, high chair, black out curtains. Loved visiting the chooks and collecting eggs each morning. Coffee shop only 5 min drive :) Dan was a great prior answering questions and Terry lovely to meet you!

  • We had the most wonderful weekend away at Lothlorien. 8 adults and 1 toddler and at no point did the house ever feel cramped. We were greeted by Terry who took us for a tour of the property, he was warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The house was absolutely stunning. I couldn't find a single fault. A vegetable and herb garden as well as a chicken coop were right on our doorstep. My 18 month old loved collected eggs from the chickens and feeding them. A relaxing family getaway was made all the more perfect by our visit to Lothlorien. We would not hesitate to return. Thank you so very much Xxx

  • We were welcomed by Terry and a beautifully stocked fridge. Terry was a delightful host. Home beautiful but not as isolated as picture leads you to believe. However that didn't matter as it is totally quiet and view from all rooms idyllic cattle country with lots of farm animals to feed , rooster to remind us how wonderful life is on a farm and a very short, very pretty drive to town. Not to mention fresh herbs and vegetables we were free to pick. Fabulous 4 days . Thank you so much

  • This place is absolutely gorgeous. Pros: great layout, wood burning fire, veg patch outside you can help yourself to, large property to explore, lovely outdoor patio, close to nature walks and cool local pubs, heating, comfortable beds, brand new bathrooms, charming and friendly hosts. Cons: .....? Maybe poor phone reception and no wifi, but if you're getting away who needs that! We're already planning our next visit back. Thanks so much

  • Lothlorien is a fabulous place to stay. The house layout is great, lovely verandahs, great lounge and dining and fireplace! The bedrooms are quite and block out curtains meant we all slept in! Trish has furnished the house beautifully and we appreciated the lovely linen and big fluffy white towels. We were spoilt with your lovely original art works and decore. The kitchen has lovely crockery / baking / serving dishes. Thankyou Trish for some essentials in the fridge and wine. Communications were great. We had a lovely time, thankyou Trish.

  • I booked the house at Wildes Meadow for a 3 day 2 nights stay for me and my mates and the experience we had was as good as it can be. The place looked as good as it does in the pictures and was very comfortable. All the essentials we required were provided and were of excellent quality. Also, it had the best views out into the adjacent fields and garden. The family who owns the place was very welcoming and seemed like the perfect family. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who is interested.

  • What a beautiful home, garden and location! The home was a perfect place to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The little kids loved the chickens, curious cows, garden, dams and swing, and the adults enjoyed the beautifully appointed house, every detail was perfect. I couldn't recommend the house enough, and thanks to Trish for fantastic communication all the way through. We'll be back!

  • How dare you, after I have stayed in this property by myself, then request an additional $450 claiming a) I had extra guests and b)all beds were slept in. I came down by myself, leaving my family at home, for the Bowral Classic bike race. No one else even set foot in the house, let alone slept there. I left the place spotless, I used one double bed, I tidied the house and respected the owners property, appreciating the fact I had been able to stay there. That said, the house is beautiful, but cold, I took one single duvet off one of the beds and put it on top of the double I was using as the first night I was there I was so cold. After spending a lot of money I ended up having a terrible nights sleep. I could have just cranked the air con up and left it on to heat the place but out of respect to the owners I turned it off at night time and whenever I wasn't there. I don't understand why with single glazing there are so few window coverings, the house cools far too quickly as a result, in addition I felt watched the whole time I was there, with lights on and no curtains there is a feeling of exposure and zero privacy, certainly not what I was expecting. To your point that you insinuate I had extra guests, did you realise none of the beds were slept in, creased or used? Did you notice the towels in each bedroom were exactly as the cleaner left them. There was me myself and I, and I was out most of the time. I purposefully didn't write a bad review for a nice but cold house lacking privacy, you then you try and extort $450 from me. Outrageous, unacceptable and something I will take further. Please call me on the number you have on file to resolve this or I will take this further. What a mistake booking through your agency.

  • Daisy cottage was amazing and Gail is a great host! She was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for a weekend away! The breakfast in the fridge was a really nice touch too!!

  • Gail was a very nice host, she made sure we had everything ready before our arrival, she even turned on the fire so the house was warm upon our check in. We had a pleasant stay beside the fireplace and there was plenty of wood to make sure the house was warm enough. The cottage has everything you need and the kitchen is fully equipped, the only comment we would like to make for other guests is there isn't a cooktop or an oven, just in case you would like to cook a big meal, we used the BBQ that is located at the terrace and there are 2 electric fry pans that we used to cook our meals, the rest was all fantastic and very clean.

  • We stayed one night at Daisy Cottage, as a couple attending a wedding nearby. Our communication with Gail was prompt and thoughtful and included a useful map ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps doesn't display correctly and mobile phone reception is erratic in the bucolic area ). The location is idyllic and the house spotless and very comfortable for a family for a few days. The wood fireplace was laid and easy to light, breakfast including coffee machine delicious and welcome. There was plenty of hot water, electric blankets, quality bed linen and wifi too. I am sure the alpacas and ducks in the beautiful gardens would keep our children occupied for hours. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Daisy Cottage to anyone looking for a base to explore the beautiful Southern Highlands.

  • Daisy Cottage is a five star AirBnB set in beautiful gardens in a lovely part of NSW and Gail is a five star host who has thought of everything that a guest could want, including a delicious breakfast. The cottage is immaculate with lots of lovely touches. This is a very special place to stay, and we would highly recommend it.

  • We planned to go to Kiama from Newcastle for the weekend and found all hotels were fully booked. So I turned to Airbnb and found Gail's cottage. I have to say that we were lucky. Gail is a very nice host and the place is beautiful! The kids and actually all the adults loved the alpacas and the frog pond, and the BBQ place and the fireplace. So I recommend people to come a bit earlier and allow some time just stay in the cottage and its goodies. The cottage is next door to Fitzroy Falls which was a very easy walking track. It is kids friendly but does not compromise for the beautiful scenes including the waterfalls and the Kangaroo Valley. Another must go is the Carrington Falls, spectacular, huge! We visited carrington falls on the way to Illawarra Tree Top Adventure. The cottage is an easy one hour drive to Kiama Blowhole and Wollongong, very convenient. Our original destination is the beach, and didn't expect that we have enjoyed the South Highlands this much. Thanks Gail for the wonderful experience. Oh, forget to mention that she even has prepared cooking oil, soy sauce, and everything you ever need to cook your own dinner.

  • We had a great stay at Daisy Cottage. Gail is a very welcoming host and the cottage was perfect for our girls weekend. Would love to have stayed longer and explored the local area. Gails' garden was in full bloom with beautiful climbing roses. Would be happy to spend another weekend here.

I could have spent the entire weekend in the garden under the beautiful blossoms and magnolias. The house itself is also beautiful, very comfortable and really did feel like a home, Very warm and comfortable. The over all experience was absolute amazing and really has made a memorable birthday weekend.

  • I can't recommend Headwater highly enough. The house is brilliant, such a fantastic layout, gorgeous living space with so many happy hours spent with our friends in this house. It's spacious and great for groups looking for a warm and welcoming retreat in winter. So many small touches such as the beautiful fresh cut flowers that made a lovely impression. We slept as well as or better than in our own beds - extremely comfortable and we definitely plan to visit again. Thank you very much to our hosts who we didn't meet but who were super helpful!

    Sarah 2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Headwater was nothing short of perfection - a truly magnificent property, furnishings and grounds. The hosts went above and beyond and thoughtfully provided fresh flowers from the garden and a sampling of local produce. We thoroughly enjoyed drinking wine over looking the spectacular property before moving inside to the toasty fire. Kitchen was fully equipped, and plenty of space for us to spread out. Our children enjoyed exploring the property, feeding the goats and chickens, the trampoline, the scooters... the list goes on. Our friendship group goes away every year and the common view was we should return here every year. Thankyou for hosting us!

  • The converted church was absolutely lovely. The rooms were beautiful, bathrooms were lovely, especially the large bathroom with two sinks and lovely bath. The house is decorated with lovely cushions, throws, bed covers and candles/knick knacks. I stayed here with my family, including 18 month old niece and it was perfect for everyone. Beds were very comfortable, and despite there being neighbours you wouldn't know they were there and very private. Kitchen was great everything we needed for cooking all of our meals. The lounge room was large and we spent all of our time here with the beautiful real fire talking. Close to the beautiful cafes and shops in Bowral . Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Chapel. Its spaciousness, privacy and garden all contributed to a very relaxing weekend. The games room comprising ping-pong and pool tables was well received and used. If you don't mind a house that doesn't have wifi and isn't super clean, the Chapel is great value for money and well worth a stay. Please note, in winter, wood is only provided for one night, regardless of how many nights have been paid for. Also, during your stay, the manager specifies she will only take texts (no phone calls) and only between specified hours, and even then only in emergencies. In the lead up to our stay, we waited a week for our message to be answered. All in all, it was worth a stay at the Chapel.

  • This home was a beautiful place to go with a group of friends to enjoy the peacefulness of burrawang. Great central location to kangaroo valley and Bowral so we did a lot of day trips into surrounding areas. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

  • The best Airbnb that we've stayed at! We arrived to a roaring fire, there were heaters in every room and the house had everything we could need, lots of firewood, toys for the kids, a coffee machine, great showers and cable TV. It was very clean, spacious and check in was easy.

Escape from the city and indulge in your own secluded, eco retreat nestled within the rainforest overlooking the green, rolling hills, valley & reservoir. Hidden away on a 240 acre working property, at the end of a lane, experience the unique accommodation and setting. Four charming hand crafted wooden huts (a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom and a cosy loft hut) provide an idyllic place for you to unwind and rejuvenate. The whole area is yours with no-one else nearby.
The charming kitchen, bedroom and bathroom huts are connected via a winding wooden path. Of course, when it is wet you will need to use an umbrella, although it is only a few steps between each space and this is all part of the magical experience. Fairy lights line the path between the huts and there are lights shining up into some of the surrounding trees. Just a few steps away from the three main huts is the loft hut where you can cosy up on the large sofa and watch a movie or just enjoy the view over a game of cards. While there is no satellite connection or wifi, a TV with a range of movies and TV shows on a harddrive is provided. The eco toilet is in a separate hut just near the bedroom. You are welcome to explore the farm and enjoy the magnificent views in all directions. Take a picnic to the trig paddock (the second highest point in the Southern Highlands) and enjoy the the views across to the sea in one direction and the green, rolling hills in the other. In the evening relax on the verandah or the trig, or any of the other paddocks, while watching the sun set over the reservoir.
  • This is easily the best Airbnb I've ever visited. I could not recommend this enough. Stunning views, beautiful cabins, great kitchen and bath facilities - Jeanette's thought of everything. This could not have been a more perfect weekend away! Thank you again!

  • We had a great stay in Kangaloon. What a great location! Amazing view & very private. Was the perfect escape from the city. Would highly recommend it. Jeanette is a fantastic host! Thanks so much.

  • This place is truly a unique and gorgeous experience that I'm so glad we managed to find. 3 fairy like little huts in the middle of a rainforest set high on a mountain with stunning country vistas. We could have stayed the month! Jeanette has thought of everything and modestly calls it rustic but truthfully everything is stocked way beyond expectations. From a delicious bottle of shiraz and roasted hazelnuts on arrival to fresh eggs from the farm to tobys estate coffee brew, museli, oj etc she's got it all. The surrounds are just wonderful, so you can go exploring the property or just relax with a cheese plate by the outdoor fire pit. Can't wait to get back someday and we highly recommend it to all our friends and family!

    Jillian2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect get away spot if you are looking for a unique place to enjoy nature. The cabins were super cute and spotless. Jeanette was extra helpful and lovely :)

  • Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic stay. We were excited to get somewhere secluded and Jeanette's amazingly cosy huts did not disappoint. The views are stunning, we lit a fire, filled two glasses with wine and watched one of the best sunsets we've ever seen. A must for anyone wanting to get away from the city and unwind. We will certainly be back.

    Phil2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! We've been looking for a place to stay and looking and looking on AirBnB until we finally came across Jeanette's listing. This is exactly what we were after. The place is amazing and the photos do not do it justice. Jeanette is an amazing host and puts in a lot of time and effort to ensure you enjoy your stay. Amazing attention to detail and comfort in each of the huts. We would highly recommend the huts for everyone looking for a weekend getaway or to stay even longer. There is so much to explore in the nearby towns. Or, if you choose to stay in you will enjoy watching the sunset by the fire and mornings as the fog lifts off exposing the hills in the distance. The bed is super comfortable and the bath is divine. Thank you Jeanette and Sara :)

  • The place is stunning and filled with character. It has well presented interior, lots of common areas for family and friends to enjoy and the views are so relaxing. There are 3 generous sized bedrooms, 2 with king beds, and 1 with double bunk beds. All of which were provided with clean and comfortable mattresses and beddings. There had been plenty of space for our group of 9 adults and 3 toddlers. Estelle offered cots and have provided plenty of entertainment for kids such as toys, books, and kiddie movies. There is a playground which our kids love and the farm animals are absolute hit for both kids and kids at heart. We loved the many little secret gardens and beautiful pathways to explore. Our kids had fun running around the massive acreage. We weren't able to find the water falls during our hike, though, and it would have been nice to find a guideline how to get there. Other than that, the whole family had a great time and it was very hard to leave after staying for only 2 nights over the labour long weekend. Highly recommend this property for families who need time away from the hassle and bustle of city life.

  • The experience we had was so amazing that we all hope we can come back again & bring the kids. Alistair, Abi & Johnny were perfect hosts. Abi showed us the area & things we can do outside the place, like doing the Fitzroy Falls walkabout which is a 2 min drive. But the most amazing experience was the activities in the area itself. In the morning, the kids did the Giant Swing, Archery & Trapeze. My goodness, everyone had an adrenalin rush & we all laughed & bonded as family. After dinner, there's a Games Room with everything in it! Billiard table, Table tennis, Darts, Hockey table even a Keyboard which the kids used for jamming. The Games Room was heated too. All rooms were heated as it was the middle of winter & there was a wood fire heater in the living room. Then we had a big bonfire lit by Alistair where we had roasted marshmallows, etc. The camp grounds & the house was massive & there were so many things to do. We also loved the twin tennis courts too. There was also a pool but it was winter so we didn't take a swim. What else can I say? The kitchen was a commercial kitchen, with 2 ovens & 2 stoves - one is a 4 burner & another is a 6 burner stove. They also have a long bbq cooker in their huge wooden deck where we basked in the sun at lunchtime. Big place for running around, everyone enjoyed the experience. I'll rate it 5 stars because I can't rate it 6 stars. And Alistair, you are so great! A perfect host!

    Precious2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Allison were forthcoming and easily contactable prior to arriving at the site. While we were there everyone was very accommodating (they even gave us a lovely sticky date pudding!) helping us with directions to the nearby waterfall and turning on the appliances. Being the end of winter it was sitting around 3 degrees but all the bedrooms had a heater and the living area had a wood fire to keep us warm and toasty. I also loveedddd the two doggies buster and mini who were lovely. Buster took us for a walk to the waterfall!

  • Great place in the outdoors, friendly host who visits 2/3 times per day. Good facilities

    Stacey2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and her family were great hosts! They met us promptly as we arrived and were always friendly and easy to get into contact with if we needed any help. This place was really great. It was very spacious for my group of friends and has a lot to offer in terms of onsite activities such as a games room and outdoor sports with all the equipment provided

    Rachael2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived at Fitzroy falls conference & convention center, Alison welcomed us with warm and heartfelt greeting. Then she took us to our house which was a 13 beds house. As soon as we walked into the house, there was an enormous (it is really big) room which is combined with dining space, lounge and of course the fireplace. A well equipped kitchen with all amenities is also located next to the dining space, which was really convenient to cook and easily accessible. Then we went to see our bedrooms and all the rooms were preheated, exactly what we needed in this early winter morning. The beds were done nicely with fresh sheets and blankets. In addition to that, all the amenities were provided such as towel, hand soap etc. The bathrooms were nice and clean too. Just outside the big room there was place to sit and also a BBQ machine. Then we followed her to the best part the entire property which is the games room located just outside the house. We had so much fun in that games room that we wish we could stay few more days. There were Foosball, Table Tennis, Dart, Air Hockey, Pool which kept us so busy that we didn't realize we spend 4 hours just there. This is probably why we had great time there even though it was raining outside. The best part of this property is that there is a lot to do inside the property which kept us occupied even though we couldn't go out because of the rain. We didn't feel bored for once. In terms of location, the house is located the best place possible if you wish to visit the national parks around such as Budderoo, Fitzroy falls, Carrington falls etc.

    Ahmed2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and Ian we great hosts. They made our stay a very pleasant one. Ian came and lit the fire for us, took our kids to do some fun activities (flying fox and giant swing) which topped off the trip. I would highly recommend this place if you want the kids to get off their iPads and into the great outdoors.

The surrounding countryside is beautiful. The children loved being able to see and interact with the farm animals. They especially loved brushing the horses.

  • We had a wonderful girls night away, the house was exactly what we were looking for & was everything we hoped it would be. It has an amazing feel to it, perfect for our little winter escape! We are already looking at dates to come back, next time with the family! Thanks guys for a great experience, we hope to see you again very soon!

  • After looking around for the perfect accomodation for two families, I found Timbalah, it is not only in a prime location, but it's facilities are one of the best in its area, especially for a family or a couple of families. There is an eight seater spa, and a spacious garden for the kids to play in. All the rooms were clean and spacious. I would definitely recommend booking Timbalah for a getaway for your family or a group of families.

  • Great house and close to the falls. Very large living areas and great pool table, spa and fireplace. Made for a great family gathering.

    Vicki2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Timbalah was the perfect location for our girls' weekend away. The beds were super comfy and the house provided plenty of space for us all to be there. Wine and cheese around the fire was a highlight! Couldn't believe how close the Fitzroy Falls were! We really enjoyed walking down to the walk. Highly recommend!

  • Perfect accommodation for our getaway, the place was very well setup with all the facilities that we required. Amazing location and quiet accommodation, not too far away from Sydney. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back! Nicola was very helpful and responsive.

  • This is such a fabulous house - great space for us with two families. The kids loved the spa and the pool table, we loved the open fire, and the house was lovely and warm despite the cold. We loved it and would definitely come back!

Looking for a little luxury in a beautiful, private, rural environment to get away with family, enjoy a wedding weekend, reconnect with a group of friends or conduct your executive retreat or workshop? Situated on a private estate surrounded by treed paddocks, the house is spacious, open and elegant with high quality modern amenities, big bedrooms and bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and top of the range appliances. An oasis of peace and space and nature equally perfect for children and adults,
Drive up the long, curving private drive to find the house situated like a gem in a setting of trees, grassy open space and manicured box hedges. Flanking the house are two distinct terrace areas, one boasting an enormous BBQ big enough to cater for large group meals, the other set with a rustic dining table that looks out over the property. The house, itself is rambling, open, light-filled and generously scaled - with wide halls large bedrooms and a main open-plan living area perfect for communal enjoyment. Two separate bedroom wings keep sleeping areas peacefully apart from the kitchen, dining and lounge spaces. Equally generous bathrooms offer ample benchtop space and electrical outlets perfect for people who need to share the space while getting ready together for an event. Are you doing an executive retreat or holding a personal growth workshop? Move the three couches to open up the large lounge room and you can seat up to 20 people (rental of extra chairs can be specially arranged for maximum comfort and we have a screen and projector for presentations). Or dispense with chairs altogether and have your attendees sit on cushions or yoga mats. A space large enough to be used this way is not always warm and inviting but Diamond Vale is a welcoming space whether it's being used by family members relaxing with games and books or co-workers doing business planning. The main living area boasts a huge vaulted ceiling with floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides bringing the rural tranquillity in. It is light and bright and airy but can be made very cozy as the whole residence is climate controlled. There is an efficient slow combustion wood fire in the magnificent central entertaining area. Underfloor heating in the bathrooms is a bonus during the winter months and you will be cool and comfortable on hot summer days with the reverse cycle climate controlled air conditioning. With so much space and so many interesting, distinct areas to explore right outside your door, there's privacy and peace for everyone staying here. Feed handfuls of grass to the ponies just over the neighbouring paddock's fence. Sit on a swing staring out over the fields. Sip wine on the terrace with a book. Walk the long driveway for a morning burst of exercise (or run beautiful Old Kangaloon Road a more intense workout). Get in your car to venture further and you can lose yourself in the quirky beauty of the town of Robertson, 4 minutes away, exploring its cafes, restaurants, interesting shops, galleries and walks. Beyond that, three gorgeous waterfalls - Carrington, Belmore and Fitzroy Falls - beckon. Robertson, uniquely situated at the heart of the Highlands, is the perfect place from which to launch your explorations of the area, whether you're making your way through the villages, doing a wine tasting junket or art trail, or even if you want to explore the white sandy beaches of the Shoalhaven, only 30 minutes away. Beds: Master suite - Queen bed plus king trundle bed (Perfect for a couple plus children who can share the large trundle bed - or two couples) Bedroom 2 - Queen bed Bedroom 3 - Queen bed Study Room 4 - King trundle bed (Suited to a couple or a single adult or 2-4 children, depending on how young/small they are) Additional sleeping: There are three sofas (not sofa beds) in the lounge room that can accommodate up to a total of 3 children using their own sleeping bags/linens. Diamond Vale sleeps up to 10 adults in total (8 private, 2 semi-private, 3 in the common area). 13 people is fine as long as three of them are children.
Just one and half hours drive away from Sydney, not far off the main road to Robertson, down a little country lane, you will arrive at Diamond Vale and its private tree lined the driveway. Nestled amongst local potato fields, this architect designed, modern country style home offers privacy, luxury and a long list of features for your added comfort and enjoyment. Get in your car to venture out and you can lose yourself in the quirky beauty of the town of Robertson, 4 minutes away, exploring its cafes, restaurants, interesting shops, galleries and walks. Twin Falls Bush Cottages are 5 cottages set on 50 acres of beautiful, unspoilt Australian bushland, There are 3 two bedroom and 2 one bedroom cabins with wood fires to keep you cozy in winter. Swim, BBQ and play tennis on the warmer days.
  • Amazing bushwalking, excellent hosts and clean, modern cabins. Highly recommended.

    Shane2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic escape from the city into nature. Great location, walking distance from the Fitzroy falls. The wood fireplace is the highlight of our stay. The kids loved the bike track and the trampoline.

    Keren2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Nice setup in real Bush surroundings. Quite and peaceful. Staff were nice and very helpful as well. Bush walk in Morton National Park was really good. Able to walk out from our cottage and back. No need to drive around. Great Bike track setup inside the park surrounding the cottages. Good for comfortable/experienced bike riders. My son enjoyed little animal farm, kids bike track setup and tennis court!

    Muruga2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a nice cabin nested in the bush. We wanted to spend few days away from city life and this place was perfect for us. Kids had tons of fun (for once without their iPad as it should be) just feeding the animals, jumping on the trampoline and mountain biking around. There heaps of MTB track on the properties with man made obstacles (Brad was in the AUS cycling Team so he is well experienced in creating and maintains tracks and equipment). Sharni is very helpful and friendly and she was explaining the kids all about the farm and the animals they have on the property. The location itself is in walking proximity of Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre which offer scenic walks with spectacular viewpoints. Given the proximity to Sydney and the fact that the region has a lot to offer we will definitely be back.

    Marco2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice, plenty of animals to admire

    Veronika2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Came with a bunch of adult friends for a little retreat. Spent three nights in two of these great little cottages. Warm as toast with the slow combustion wood fires, plenty of space in the lounge area for us all to hang out. Comfy clean beds. Gas water heater and stove, clean well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Great walks down to the Falls and along the gorge to have great lunches at the visitor's centre Cafe at Fitzroy Falls.

  • Absolutely amazing place to stay, awesome location, really clean and comfy bed

    Rylee2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Twin Falls cottages were an absolute treat. The cabins are tidy, well equipped with the cooking utensils and firewood and so lovely and secluded. Our son loved meeting the animals; Flicker the horse, the goat and those giant and baby pigs! We were also treated with lots of little games and bikes for him to play with (tennis, scooter). Had the weather been warner we would have definitely taken advantage of the pool and amazing outdoor BBQ set up. This property really has all you need for an amazing out door retreat. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Sharni!

Peaceful and private, The Chestnut Cabin is the perfect retreat from the madness of the city. Originally a hardwood scout hall which was brought onto the property about 30 years ago and became the first dwelling, this wonderful old building has been given a new lease of life with a total revamp while maintaining most of its original character.
The perfect romantic getaway or the perfect artist's retreat. You can explore our 10 acre wonderland or visit the town.
Robertson is known as the green heart of the Southern Highlands. We are just a few minutes from town where you will find pharmacy, general store, fruit and veg, patisserie, fuel, antiques, cafes and lots of friendly people. Of course there is also the Cheese Factory and Robo Pub with a great dining room.

Experience a romantic and unique s/c farm stay in a 1920's train carriage on Redleaf Farm. A small working farm adjacent to state forest, Redleaf Farm is an ideal getaway. Organic free range eggs, piglets, sheep, beef cattle, fowl and horses. Mountain bike and hiking trails, waterfall and scenic countryside.
The Carriage 1238 has a king bed 'compartment', a bunk room 'compartment' with up to 3 singles, a sitting room 'compartment' and a dining room and kitchen. There is a shower at one end and a toilet at the other. An outdoor deck provides a lovely farm vista. The corridors and spaces are narrow and the bed is the entire 'room', so access is not the easiest for older or larger people, or those with limited mobility. Kitchen provides cooking facilities and a fridge. There is limited telephone coverage in our area (telstra only).
Southern Highlands is a renowned food and wine destination boasting some fabulous vineyards and top restaurants. We have access via the bush to many great mountain biking tracks and trails. Fitzroy Falls is 5km away.
  • The cabin was as I expected. A reconditioned train carriage that makes use of the old seat cabins as a quite area, a change room and a bedroom. You should consider this as it is quite narrow in the hallway areas, additionally getting in and out of bed would be difficult for older or mobility impaired people. The batthriom and kitchen are well appionted. Take note of the hosts message about the insulation as the train carriage can get cold in windy conditions. However when the wind is low and the sun is out it was beautiful to sit in the dining room or on the deck. Overall this is a great location to get away from the pressures of everyday life, quite and comfortable within easy reach of local restaurants and wineries. Great weekend.

    Aaron2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully restored carriages, lovely hosts (especially the resident birds), wonderful location. My family had a great time there.

    Dominic2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for such a beautiful stay! The carriage is absolutely delightful, I'm 6 foot 4 and still had plenty of space and was very comfortable. Katrina is such a wonderful host, left us some absolutely amazing wine and local foods! She and her family were only too happy to help and give local tips about the area. The location is great. The perfect combination for a quiet weekend away.

    Stuart2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Redleaf Carriage! The train has been so beautifully restored and all the personalised touches are amazing - there was even a welcome basket for us with bread, eggs and marmalade. We spent three nights here over a long weekend and it was a great base for exploring the Kangaroo Valley. It's quite hard to convey the size of the cabin in the photos but it's really quite spacious. One of our party is over six foot tall and he was fine. We had all our breakfasts here with fresh eggs from the chickens next door. It was lovely to sit outside in the evening on the little deck and look out over the property. There's plenty of wild life around from peacocks to turkeys to alpacas, it was a really fun experience. The Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre is just down the street with several great walking tracks. We also went on a canoe trip with Kangaroo Valley Canoes, visited Southern Pies, The Friendly Inn, The Famous Berry Donut Van and Silos Estate. Mount Ashby up the road is also a great winery to visit. We would also recommend driving up to the Cambewarra Lookout. We had a fantastic trip and can highly recommend this accommodation! Only tip would be to bring warm clothes if you're going during a colder period - though there is also a heater in the main room of the carriage. Thanks Katrina!
