  • My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at the cottage! The place itself was cozy and a perfect size for the two of us. We loved being right across the street from beautiful Shadow Lake, and made great use of the rowboat and 2 kayaks at the dock for fishing, exploring and relaxing. We also enjoyed the cottage's close proximity (half hour drive) to Lake Willoughby, which we drove up to for the afternoon to enjoy the water and great hiking there. We'll definitely be back!

  • I think we exchanged all of two words with the host upon our arrival. While this place is just fine for adults, we were traveling with two small kids, who because of the tiny space kept each other up way past their bedtime. That meant we didn't get much sleep making the following day's drive even more difficult. While the cottage is new it does need some finishing touches. For instance there was a box fan for us to use which was definitely needed on the hot day we were there but there were no outlets in the bedrooms so we could only use it in the living room. On the plus side, we appreciated the availability of the kayaks. Overall I'm surprised at the cost per night given that our next Airbnb stay cost us the same but was a duplex with two full bedrooms and air conditioning. I would not recommend it for anyone traveling with kids but definitely ok for adults.

    Jane2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a couple. The cottage is truly tiny though and sleeping more adults than 2 is a challenge. Shadow Lake is gorgeous and waking to the cry of the loons makes up for the size of the space!

    Lena2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Greg's place is small but complete with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and sitting area. There's a great view across the road to Shadow Lake. His place is affordable and a great home base and jumping off point for exploring the beauty and wilds of the North East Kingdom.

    Michael2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location, the view is spectacular! An adorable little rustic cottage that had all the necessities. Perfect for our getaway. If you want peaceful and beautiful Shadow Lake fits the bill.

    Christine2013-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We found the cottage without any trouble, directions were perfect. It was just what we needed for the time we needed it. It was smaller than we expected, but very accommodating with all the amenities, including the new shower with great water pressure. Our two year old puppy was very well behaved and enjoyed his kayak and rowboat rides with us. The finish-work for the interior seems real easy to (URL HIDDEN) the moment the exterior is quite pretty and the inside needs a little sprucing up. Maybe that's in the long-range plan? We had a great weekend though and did lots of visiting with friends...including a neighbor on the lake. Thank you for your hospitality. We would recommend and return!!

    Lorraine2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location on the shores of Shadow Lake, lovely for a swim or using the kayaks provided. Very functional cabin - was exactly what we needed. We didn't manage to get the wifi to work, but it was nice being cut off from everything for 24 hours. A short drive to Parker Pie and Hill Farmstead brewery made for good trips for dinner and drinks. Friendly spiders kept their webs outside our lovely clean cabin. Beautiful sunrise view.

Welcome to Clayton's View, a fully-furnished 3BR/2BA log cabin with cathedral ceilings, bright morning exposure, and a wood-burning stove (among other things). Perched on 10+ acres with sweeping valley views, we're halfway between ski resorts Jay Peak & Burke Mtn., surrounded by farms, mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails (and only a stone's throw to the world famous Willoughby Lake). It's a wonderful vacation spot on a sleepy dirt road away from all of the static.
It's all about location. You'll know what I mean when you arrive. We have a lovely wood burning stove, too, and the first batch of wood is free!

  • Great private, peaceful, country location in the North East Kingdom and in close proximity to lakes, trails, Newport, VT and Canada.

    Michael2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • House as well as the general area is very secluded. Mostly anything you need is in the house - way beyond hotel or motel amenities. And for the money, a good choice.

Secluded getaway great retreat for couples or small groups .
Cozy cabin dead end road this is a secondary road so you can get there by car but you need to drive slow 1/2 mile bumpy driveway .
Very quiet only one other home on 1/2 mile drive. Neighbor does have friends over on weekend at times .
  • What an amazing little cabin. It was perfect, John was so hospitable and ever came and checked to see if we made it there ok. The place was everything we were looking for, quiet, secluded, and romantic. Can't wait to come back here!

  • Another great stay. Johns place is beautiful and relaxing. Cant beat the privacy

    Jacob2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot to enjoy Vermont’s nature. We spent the weekend near Lake Willoughby (hiking & kayaking) and we stayed one night at the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay, it is a charming and relaxing place. It was above our expectations, I highly recommend this cabin. Even though I did not meet John, he was a good host. Its response time was fast and he provided us with precise indications.

    Sonia2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed staying at John's place. Quiet rustic and comfortable

    Joseph2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful spot! As described- a Cabin in the woods. Not super fancy, but clean and well set-up. It was just what I needed for a get-out-of-the-city weekend. Very quiet and peaceful local. About 15 minutes from the amazing Lake Willoughby, and the same to "The Cow Palace" restaurant in Derby, (which I highly recommend for a good inexpensive steak, or elk steak. They also raise Reindeer. The kids will love it!) Lots of all-season outdoor activities near by. The next time I come I will ask about bring my Quad or Snowmachine! I never asked about drinking the tap water, so I brought a couple of gallons.(That may have been unnecessary...) My only hint is: follow John's directions and come in from 105. I listened to my GPS and that was a mistake!! (MY mistake.) Also: bring DVDs.

    David2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at John's place. It was a peaceful location in the woods that had everything we needed.

If your the outdoorsy type, you'll love "The Lake House" less then a mile from our beautiful world famous Willoughby Lake, Perfect for ice fishing. Magnificent pines surround the property providing total privacy, the inside is open concept, 2.5 bathrooms, (one bathroom on each floor) walk in closets in both bedrooms. Mount Pisgah, Mount Hor & Bartlett Mt are nearby for fabulous hiking, snow shoeing, or ice climbing, VAST trails are VERY close by, making this property the ideal winter get-a-way.
"The lake House" is a very quiet, peaceful place, it is bright, cheery and comfortable, it has all brand new furniture, the entire home has been remodeled with a farmhouse country feel, (Major "Fixer Upper" fan) lol.
Westmore is home to 320 full time residents, it is also home of the beautiful Willoughby Lake, offering some of the best fishing around, the lake contains rainbow trout, Lake Trout, Landlocked Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow smelt, Burbot, Yellow Perch, long nose sucker, white sucker, lake chub, common shiner, and round whitefish which is a native species of extremely limited distribution in Vermont. "The Gap, Pub & Grill" is a must for anyone wanting exceptional food and a good time. Don't be surprised if you see moose, bear, deer, or Coyotes, all common here, we've enjoyed watching them from the deck right in the front yard, and have been serenaded many nights by the coyotes.

  • Susan was great! She was so nice and easy going! She made sure we had anything we needed and answered the questions we had. And the room was wonderful! :)

    Ilia2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, Susan was faced with an emergency which made it impossible for her to be home when I arrived. My mobile phone didn't work in the area - which only complicated the situation. I liked the neighborhood - especially being just across the street from public access to the lake - and a short hop from the public beach and parking lot. The room was as described.

    anne2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's home is in a beautiful area right on the lake. As a host, she was extremely kind, going so far as to help us get our car unstuck from snow in the middle of a snow storm! The accommodations are just as described and very comfortable. We'd definitely stay there again -- maybe when it's warmer!

    Becky2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I attended a wedding nearby and stayed with Susan for two nights. Great place by the lake. Easy to find and clean. Susan was very nice and helpful. Very responsive. I would highly recommend.

  • Susan was a very gracious host, especially considering our late arrival. She provided towels, and coffee, toast & jam in the morning. Her house was a very short drive from Lake Willoughby ice climbing, so that was convenient. The bed, admittedly, was not the most comfortable.

    Bridget2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodations were simple and lovely, and the location was ideal for hiking, biking, and Lake activities. Susan was especially gracious and accommodating, and made us feel very welcome. A great getaway!

    elaine2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susan, the host was very welcoming and friendly. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious with a bureau, a fan and heater, an armchair, and room to hang clothing. Also, the lake was very close and by the house is a babbling brook to help you sleep. Thank you!

    Becky2014-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time renting out a room on AirBnB versus an entire residence, so I was a bit weary. Susan put all those doubts to rest. She was extremely warm, friendly and hospitable. The room and location were exactly what I was looking for for a weekend hiking on all the mountains and trails the area has to offer. Susan also was kind enough to help me out on which trails to go on and let me take her guidebook with me! All in all great stay with a great hostess. She was in and out, but always available if I needed her.

The Dragonfly is good for couples, families, solo adventurers, business travelers, golfers (Orleans Country Club, and others),skiers (Burke Mountain and Jay Peak Resort), snowmobilers (VAST Trail is 2 min away...next field), ice fisherman (Lake Willoughby, Lake Memphremagog and others), hikers, for long or short term stay.
The Dragonfly at Cedar Pond Farm is a beautiful space to come and relax. The apartment is apart of a family homestead built by the owners father. It's on about 4 acres with an apple orchard, blueberries, raspberries, black berries and a large garden. The pond has ducks and often a beaver. All seasons are special at the Dragonfly.
Our neighborhood is basically a quiet dirt road without too many neighbors. The neighbor to our right is the Old Stone House Museum. It is a historical museum with 5 structures and 2 barns. It's the historical home of Alexander Twilight and also the Historical Society for Orleans County, Vermont. http://oldstonehousemuseum.org/ They have many special events throughout Spring, Summer and Fall.

  • Two people and a dog stayed for one night in early October, 2017. We arrived fairly late and left early the next morning but Dawn's place was exactly what we needed. Lots of space, super clean, and enough food for a dinner, snacks and breakfast. Everything was exactly as described in the posting and Dawn's communication leading up to our stay couldn't have been better. Though we didn't get great weather when we were there, the area around Dawn's place was really beautiful. We'd recommend staying for sure.

The accommodation itself is huge and we enjoyed very much. Barb and Bill also had a few card games there which we enjoyed playing. The surrounding areas are great. Fall colors provide a stunning backdrop to this lakeside camp in mid to late September with magnificent views of the mountains surrounding Lake Willoughby in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Built in the 1960s, the mid-century modern waterfront camp has a main camp, bunkhouse, and master bedroom connected by a deck. There is a private area with dock for swimming and kayaking.
    - The camp (cottages are called camps in this part of Vermont) is located near the end of a winding, private, dead-end road. - There are two kayaks available. Life jackets are provided. - The camp and dock are only accessible by stairs. - A brief booklet called Camp Guidelines providing a detailed description of the camp and its environs will be supplied.
Lake Willoughby is a spring-fed lake. Five miles long and a mile wide, it is surrounded by mountains, many with well-maintained hiking trails. The two most prominent are Mt. Pisgah and Mt. Hor at the south end that rise over 1,000 feet above the lake and feature dramatic cliffs. There are public beaches at the north and south ends of the lake that can be reached by car. The lake is stocked with trout and salmon that thrive in the deep waters.
  • Lake Willoughby is a stunning setting, and Brynn's camp nestles right in at the water's edge. The kitchen is well equipped, and the cabin is clean. Brynn is a very thoughtful host, and her communications to us were prompt and to the point. Thumbs up.

  • Such a great spot! This cabin has rustic charm in spades and has a very unique layout that makes the lake the focus of your attention. We absolutely loved it there.

    Ej2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Brynn's place was the perfect location. The deck was so enjoyable, we had every meal out there and spent entire days outside. We truly didn't want to leave this camp on the water and are already planning our next weekend getaway! There are 3 little "Buildings" connected by deck and walkway and this was perfect for the 5-6 of us ladies to hang out, cook, sleep, play games and enjoy the water. Proximity to hiking and mountain biking was also a huge plus. Brynn and her camp manager, Caitlin were so easy to communicate with and reasonable. We had a great time!

    Monika2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Brynn's camp on Lake Willoughby is a treasure! It is truly an amazing property. We got lucky and saw a beautiful full moon over the lake. Brynn has everything you would ever need to have a great vacation at the lake. A fully equipped kitchen, clean bathroom and sleeping space but also a dock to swim or kayak from right next to the camp. We can't wait to come back again. Thanks so much for having us!

  • It was soo beautiful to visit this place in the fall and we really enjoyed our stay. The place was great and we had an amazing time staying here. This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.

  • Had a great time! close to the lake, there is a great mountain to hike nearby, etc.

  • Lily's cottage served us well for our weekend foliage bike trip, clean and simple, not at all fancy. It is situated in a pretty spot near the shore of Lake Willoughby. a gorgeous area for cycling, with a general store about a mile away when their little store is shut out of season. Although unable to meet us when we arrived, her husband very kindly dropped the key to our home and Lily was extremely responsive by text to our questions. The kitchen with its small fridge was adequately supplied with pans and dishes. Please note that to get wifi you do need to go outside to the porch of their home next door, and that you need to bring all your own cooking ingredients, including salt, spices, and tea and coffee. It would be a tight squeeze for six adults. We were very comfortable with three.

  • We had a great experience here, everything was excellent and we would certainly stay at Telfer Hill Farm again - thank you Nan!

  • Second year we visit and second year our trip to the Kingdom is a success! Great place with everything a larger group could need.

    Xavier2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spectacular house on a spectacular site! We used it for a company creative retreat. All six of us had plenty of privacy and yet the group spaces were tremendously conducive to productive meetings. Taking a walk through the surrounding fields or down the dirt road provided the perfect break(s). A few choice restaurants nearby also provided relief from cooking for ourselves. All in all, a perfect gathering place for a group, whether for work or family time. (I want the name of the architect. :))

    Shannon2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming place and host has always made herself available per phone if any issue or question, which we really appreciated.

    Yann2015-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Telfer Hill Farm. The house and property are gorgeous. Kitchen is very functional, Webber grill came in handy and we enjoyed the sauna after full days exploring the outdoors. Plenty of bedrooms / bathrooms to host our group of 14. Everyone had a great time. Will be visiting again!

    Xavier2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Telfer Hill Farm! The home is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated; there is something new to see everywhere you turn. Nature surprised us with a March blizzard right before we arrived, which made us extra grateful to be in such a lovely space with several fireplaces to keep us warm and cozy. We had no trouble finding the house at all, and Nan was available to quickly answer any and all questions we had throughout our stay. We were a big, food-centric group (eating three sit-down meals a day together in the dining room) and were so happy to have a kitchen that was well-equipped to handle all our needs. Double ovens, plenty of large pots and pans, two sinks, two dishwashers, multiple ways to prepare coffee—it was a dream! All in all an absolutely perfect winter getaway. Would love to return in the summer and explore the property!

    Carey2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Telfer Hill Farm provided the perfect home base for our son's Barton wedding, accommodating the entire wedding party in comfort and style. Nan's home is set in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom. It is welcoming, comfortable, and spectacularly beautiful, inside and out. Every room and feature of the grounds helped to support the entire wedding weekend to unfold in a magical way. If you are planning an event in the area and need a special base, don't hesitate for a moment to make this investment. You will not regret it!

    Nancy2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing, everything about this place is great. The house was cosy and had absolutely everything you could need. A great location and super value for money. Best part was the ping pong table in the basement!!!

  • The views on Philip's land are beautiful! It was a perfect place to camp. The only difficulty we had was meeting up with Philip when we got there due to bad service. I would suggest setting a meeting time beforehand incase you do not have service near the parking spot. It was a great stay!

    Megan2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Philip is very communicative and sweet. The views were as described and stunning. The primitiveness of the site is also accurate. Would camp there again. Great sunsets and lovely breezes.

    Riis2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean camp spot with a great overlook of the lake. As a previous review stated, there is light traffic noise and noise from the lake.

    Tiffany2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Philip has set up a number of tree houses near the campsites! We got the wonderful pleasure of climbing them and watching the sunset. Amazing!

    Liz2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very nice place with an amazing view. It is very remote and you can enjoy your privacy.

    Sarah2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice campsite that overlooks Crystal Pond. There is some light noise pollution from I-91. Sunset was fantastic.

    Shawn2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Philip's place was amazing! The views are lovely, the spot was quiet and remote, and it was nice not being on a regular 'campground'. We felt like we were in our own little world. The actual campsite is an 8-min short walk into a trail (pack light!), so make sure you've got water/wood/food if you don't want to go back and forth to your car. We arrived late on the night of our stay (9pm) and Philip couldn't make it, but he made sure to send us detailed instructions and we had no trouble finding our way to the campsite. We'd love to stay there again, and would definitely recommend it to our family & friends!

This mid-century modern, passive solar home close to Lake Willoughby is a great place for family gatherings. Tall windows let in nature everywhere you look, with views of Mt. Wheeler. Cook up a storm in the big kitchen. Relax in the expansive living room and dining area. Stove for cozy winters. The large master bedroom doubles as a library. About 35 minute drive to Kingdom Trails and Burke Mountain ski resort. 50 minutes to Jay Peak Ski area. INQUIRE ABOUT FLAT WEEKLY SUMMER RATE.
The house has lots of room for a family and their friends - you can sleep 8 comfortably. The house is on four private acres, not visible from the road. It's also surrounded by 180 acres of private family land, fields and forest, so all kinds of interesting animals can be seen, from wild turkeys and a million kinds of birds (I once saw a Giant Snowy Owl in the driveway, looking at me as if I was intruding), to deer and fox. The biggest attraction is Lake Willoughby and the surrounding mountains. They call it the Lake Lucern of America because it was formed by a melting glacier, and it's lined on both sides by sheer rock cliffs. Robert Frost used to camp out on the field next door to the house and write in solitude; he was apparently a friend of my great grandmother, Nana Myers, who had a dairy farm here in the early part of the last century. The house, designed by my dad, features tall windows across the whole front of the house. This not only makes most of the house feel sunny and bright, but also you get a wonderful view of nature. When you're in the living room, or one of the bedrooms upstairs, the views are beautiful - lush green in spring and summer, brilliant foliage in the fall, stark whites in the winter. The house is full of books, particularly the master bedroom that doubles as a library and study. Guests have described staying here as peaceful and relaxing, but also an intellectual experience thanks to the wide range of books on every imaginable topic. The combination of all the books, and being surrounded by nature, has a very relaxing effect. You find yourself napping a lot. Guests have also reported that they feel the love of our family all around them, reflected in the photos and portraits, the various knick-knacks from world travels, and the general vibe of the place. This year the house has been updated with a new convection kitchen stove, new dryer, new living room furniture (I love the comfy leather recliner), and new wide screen HD TV with sound bar and wireless subwoofer. We cut the cord with the cable company and rely on streaming video with built-in Roku. Not everything in the house is perfect – my wife and I bought the property from my parents in 2009 and we are still in the process of making it thoroughly fantastic. In the downstairs back bedroom, where there is a single bed, two of the windows do not open and need replacing (we hope to get this done before the winter of 2016/2017). The greenhouse in front of the house is not currently being used; our hope is to turn the greenhouse into a sun room with a hot tub in 2017. This part of Vermont (the Northeast Kingdom) has many fields and farms, which is great but an unfortunate offshoot of all this nature is that in the late summer and fall months there can be house flies that cluster in some of the windows. I don't know why, but they tend to just buzz around at the base of some of the windows, versus flying around the room. This kind of fly is not unique to our house - it's common in ALL houses in Northern Vermont. We do everything we can do control them, including fly traps, which we change regularly. We have chosen not to use chemicals to control them, mostly because they don't work and also because we don't want to be around pesticides. The flies don't bother us, but those who are used to a pristine four star hotel experience might object to them. Due to the size of the house, and the cost of upkeep and Vermont taxes, we prefer to rent to larger parties (typically 6 to 8) for weekly stays.
The house is in Westmore, which is a very small town without what you'd call a "center." There is a church and general store down the road. Our place is equidistant to Mount Burke and Jay Peak for skiing. About a 35 to 45 minute drive to both. It's also the same distance to the Kingdom Trails mountain biking area, which is fantastic. The biggest lure here is Lake Willoughby, which in 2015 was ranked by the Boston Globe as the best lake for kayaking in all of New England. The cliffs of Mt. Pisgah along the lake are popular with ice climbers in winter. There's also great swimming in the incredibly clear (and usually quite cool) water. For hikers, there are several great mountains right in town. Mt. Westmore (the biggest), Mount Pisgah, Mt. Hor, and Mt. Wheeler. The property is about a 40 minute drive to Greensboro Bend, home to the Hill Farmstead brewery (repeatedly ranked as the best damn beer in the world), and Jasper Hill Farms, makers of artisanal cheese that reminds you there is a God. The south end of the lake has its very own nude beach area tucked into the woods, if that's your fancy. There is a Hill Farmstead growler at the house you are welcome to use so long as you clean it for the next guests.
  • Ted was very communicative, getting us in touch with the property manager Carol, who was also great! He gave us a list of things to do and good suggestions and was straightforward about expectations. I appreciated the detailed listing, including discussion of the house and the area and the fact that it is rural and the house is continually undergoing upgrades. It was a great house, very comfortable, indeed a bit on the old side but this added to the rustic charm. The listing didn't advertise internet, but there was wifi, though it cut out for about 24 hours, probably due to network coverage in the area. Verizon has NO cell service at the house. The master bedroom was gorgeous, a bookwork's dream! In short, it was a great stay, and I would highly recommend.

    Laura2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very comfortable for a family vacation. The kitchen has everything needed, and there is plenty of space inside and out for games and lots of quiet reading. Very close to beautiful Lake Willoughby. Ted is a responsive and welcoming host.

    Cathy2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the large open downstairs area for dining, living and with large kitchen. Three of the upstairs bedrooms have huge windows so that it feels like being in the middle of nature since the house is surrounded by meadow and woods. We spotted deer every day. The only drawback is that the rooms cannot be darkened at all so it's difficult in the summer months in particular when traveling with an infant. We also loved the large porch where we had breakfast every morning. We spent a long weekend comfortably with 8 adults and two infants thanks to two bathrooms and lots of space in general. The kitchen is well equipped and great for cooking your own meals even with that many people. Overall we had a great time at Ted's place!

    Jasmin2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Ted and his helper Carol was always perfect. They were very kind and helpful. The house is very large and located close to a lake and the surrounding area is beautiful. It is a quiet spot where you can relax and enjoy the landscape. I am very sorry to say that we were not so happy with the house. When we entered, it smelt bad and it would have helped to open the windows a while before. Also it was not very clean, there were lots of dead flies near the windows. Bathrooms were ok and the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the cozy gas oven in the living room. It’s too bad because the house is lovely and has a lot of potential. If the owners would clean it up and air it out, it would be a great place to stay.

    Martina2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Ted's home in Vermont was incredible! The location was very remote, just what we were looking for, and had everything we needed. Ted recommended that I curl up with a good book near the fireplace and that is exactly what I did. Ted made the process very easy and put me in touch with his property manager who told me all about how to find the house and the best place nearby to have breakfast. A wonderful winter weekend with friends. We are looking forward to returning in the summer. I now understand why poet Robert Frost was so inspired by his visits

    Scott2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • I was recently in the area for a friend's destination wedding and had the pleasure to stay at Ted and Nancy's lovely home. By day, the large expanse of windows brings the outdoors in, providing natural views in a very private setting. Inside, the passive solar home is comfortable and has all needed comforts. I'm a complete book nerd, and there are countless books scattered around the home, lending to the eclectic and soulful feeling of space. Staying here was very restorative and I only wish I could have stayed longer.

    Deb2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful and very welcoming. Overall a great experience.

    Michael2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We came to stay at the page abode for our mini honeymoon trip. The property was wonderful, the house filled with light and enough books to fill a lifetime of wisdom. While the furnishing of the house itself are a little dated, this matches perfectly with the charm of the place. You are staying in a place that has real history that you can touch and feel. It only sits back a little way from the attractions of Lake Willoughby, just enough to give you a sense of privacy and quiet. Ted himself had the perfect balance of communication and leaving you to your own devices. He cares about maintaining the property, but also making sure that you are able to take advantage of the spirit of the land and structures. He also bade us to write in the "peace book," a vision of his later father who clearly spent his life after WWII thinking long and hard about how humanity could live a more peaceful existence. I am not sure if we quite solved it during our brief stay there, but we certainly felt more peaceful after we left. Our stay was short, but we are hoping to back for longer next time, maybe sharing this secret in the woods with some select persons. A great first AirBnB experience. P.S. Will the hobbit hole ever be open again for guests?! I hope so!

  • Wow- what a house. Beautifully appointed with everything you might need. A superb deck with huge barbecue and quite stunning views of lake willoughby. We were very lucky to chose this for our weeks holiday form the UK. We especially loved Pat's excellent recommendations and especially Hillstead Farm Brewery- a must for anyone who likes beer! An amazing Air BNB

  • The house was very spacious, pristine, and clean. The place is exactly as shown in the pics. Perhaps prettier. Super cleaned bathrooms, well stocked kitchen and comfy sofa. Wifi worked just fine. It’s very serene setting. Not much happening around there. A great place to unwind and relax from hustle and bustle of city life. The view from the deck is amazing. You can see some part of Lake Willoughby from the house. It is a short walk (~15 mins) from the house. The water is crystal clear. Loved it!

  • I stayed at the house for a family vacation to Lake Willoughby and had a great experience. We loved sitting on the large deck to enjoy the sun and views of the lake. Sentinel Rock is right up the road from the house, and also has amazing views of the mountains and lake. The inside of the house is modern and spacious, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a good sized family or group of friends. We really appreciated the large yard and privacy of the house, and the fact that it was a quick drive to the lake and hiking trails.

  • The house was absolutely amazing. So much more than what we were expecting and it was fully equipped with everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. My boyfriend and I spent our weekend relaxing in the living room and cooking lots of food in the gorgeous kitchen. The unexpected flurries made the view from the porch even prettier. Before even leaving on Sunday we were already talking back coming back.

  • The house is beautiful and very spacious and comfortable. It is very well equipped and the setting is beyond amazing! The view off the deck is breathtaking! I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return!

  • I stayed at Pat's home for two nights in early October with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it. The house was comfortable, had everything we needed (kitchen with all the tools, wifi, gorgeous porch, etc.), and was a great base for lots of wonderful hiking and leaf-peeping. The view from the house of Lake Willoughby was gorgeous. The house felt very private and secluded - there are other houses on the road so there is some traffic back and forth, but no other houses in sight, and we could hear the cows in the pasture next door! The house would be great for a much larger group, but we just loved it and hope to visit again sometime. Thanks so much Pat!

Our property is situated just a couple of quick minutes from two of the most beautiful lakes in the Northeast Kingdom. There are numerous hiking and biking trails nearby as well as golf courses, ski areas, hunting spots, and snowmobile trails. If you enjoy the water, the lakes are great for kayaking, boating, swimming, canoeing, and fishing (both in summer and for winter ice fishing).

  • The Hideaway is just that - so secluded and peaceful. Be aware (as I believe may be mentioned) - phone reception is non-existent with Verizon - pretty much in the entire area. Only AT&T seemed to work. A few more landmarkers for finding the driveway (assuming you are coming from Barton: look for Splitter Road on your left - you are perhaps 1 m away; look for cream-colored two-story house with detached garage on right - put on your brakes. Drive is JUST before CURVE sign. If you pass Fisk Road (on left), turn around. GREAT little house - well-equipped. Wi-Fi is quick. Pullout couch bed is comfortable. Can't beat the price! Nikki responds promptly to all questions. ENJOY your stay.

The cottage itself with cozy and spacious with several rooms and beds to accommodate several guest (could fit 8 people more than comfortably). The location itself was spectacular and even better than the photos on the listing. Would definitely make this place a regular spot.

  • Beautiful location on Lake Willoughby! Norine is very responsive for questions. There's enough room for 8 people, but 3 of the beds are twins--just in case you are renting with other couples like we were rather than as a family. We worked it out and thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.

Charming lakefront haven with private, shallow, kid-friendly beach, and large dock/ boat lift. Stunning sunsets, lake and mountain viewing through expansive dining/ living area windows. Classic natural woodwork throughout roomy 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath gambrel-style cottage. Fully equipped kitchen, bath with shower, spacious living/ dining area on lower level. Three roomy bedrooms and 1/2 bath on second level.
Property has large open yard and is well-protected from the road. Also has Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs, gas BBQ grill, picnic table and small TV/DVD. Bed linens provided but rental guests must bring bath, kitchen and beach towels. Honor 7 person limit to prevent septic problems and lake contamination, Bottled drinking water is recommended.
  • This cottage is located in a very scenic location on a Northeast Kingdom lake ringed with mountains. It includes three kayaks and a canoe, which afforded us great opportunities for exploring the lake, seeing the loons, and testing our paddling skills in brisk wind. The area offers wonderful hiking and mountain biking options. The cottage is small and cozy inside. The main problem we encountered was that some of the window screens were apparently ill-fitting or damaged. By our last night, we were bothered by mosquitoes in the bedrooms. Hopefully this issue will be addressed by the owner.

  • We stayed for one night. Krista promptly answered out texts with specific info needed. The house was as described, rustic and clean! We enjoyed accessing the lake. There are many places to hike nearby, which we found out from materials she had available for guests in the house. Our first airbnb experience and we were pleased.

    Sheila2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic experience! The house was immaculate, spacious, and just a couple minutes walk to beautiful Crystal Lake. Krista was super responsive and a wonderful host. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

    Megan2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great, quiet spot for relaxing in Vermont. Everything was very clean and as expected. Check-in was very easy.

    Chris2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place near the lake

    John2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Krista responded extremely quickly to my emails. We used her cottage for sleeping only as we had somewhere to be near by early in the morning and we lived 3 hours away. We weren't at the cottage for more than 11 hours total but it was actually much better than I expected. I think of cottage and, well, I think of relatively rough quarters. That is definitely not what Krista offers. It's a lovely three bedroom lake house with lots of wood interior. The beds were very firm which is great for me, I slept like a rock. My wife prefers softer beds. We were even able to bring our dog which is great because she's getting older and gets separation anxiety. Krista was wondering in letting us bring her as well.

    Jan2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay near Crystal Lake. There's lots of room and it's a clean, uncluttered rental. There are two queen mattresses - one is soft and the other is very firm. The twin beds are firm with a comfortable top. The yard is lovely with a waterfall in the back and a grill available.

    Catherine2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stopped here as driving midpoint between Boston and Quebec City. Perfect for our needs and although we only used it as a basic place to crash, the surrounding area was beautiful. Arrived in the dark at 11PM to an empty home and you could hear the sounds of a waterfall somewhere nearby. Krista had light on and made check in simple. Sound of waterfall put us right to sleep. In morning, we were in a rush to depart but instead checked out the waterfall, the beach in walking distance, the incredible ledge walls of the mountain behind house. This is a beautiful area and we missed out as we were only passing through.

    Philip2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot, nice old house. Loved the beach access and the waterfall out back. Krista was easy to reach and very helpful.

  • It was a great to meet Colleen. We reached late and she was not at home. But she has left clear instructions on what to do where to go. She has also kept muffins for us which was very sweet of her. The room was beautiful. This was painted by her grand kids and we loved the wall paintings. A very nice location. When you wake up in the morning, you can enjoy the view of beautiful lake.

  • We had a lovely stay at Moira's lakeside house! Perfect place to crash after a long day mountain biking at Kingdom Trails. Also did a great hike up Mount Pigsah and jumped of Devil's Rock on Lake Willoughby. So much to do in this wonderful part of Vermont.

    Molly2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen left a note at the door and inside a table set and coffee and muffins ready. Very welcome after a long day! The little house is very quaint and the lake beautiful. It is in a very quiet part of the world, although it is right on a road, so there is some road noise, but not much.

    Linden2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Moira was a great host. She was very attentive of our needs and had lots of good recommendations and options of things to do around the area. The house is nice, exactly across the street from the lake with a great view!! The only thing I didn't like is that the bathroom door doesn't close.

    Sol2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place that you can't find better than this in Vermont...moira is the best host I have ever had in US

    Shipra2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely weekend, and Moira was a gracious and generous host, both to me and to my elderly dog Gracie. The way she welcomed us into her home, befriending both me and Gracie, I felt almost like family. I really appreciated Moira's intimate familiarity with the area and the Northeast Kingdom. Had it not been for her, I would've missed the Bread and Puppet pageant the Sunday afternoon before I left, which I'm so glad I experienced first-hand.

    Robert2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Moira had to cancel our stay at her house but she got a friend to put us up! We had a lovely time in Barton and made a lifelong friend in the process, so it was a great stay!

    Barbara2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Moira made us feel very welcome with many thoughtful touches. She knew that she would be at work when we arrived so left a few strategic lights on in case we arrived in the dark, had tips on quirks of the house, local outings tips, and left us wonderful healthy breakfast ingredients and locally roasted coffee to enjoy on her wonderful porch overlooking the lake. Her house is a great little retreat location for a couple!

  • Jeanne and her partner we're welcoming and helpful. The house was lovely, warm and comfortable with extra attention to the details: DVDs, board games, tourist maps etc. Great for a group of friends or a family on a ski weekend. Thanks for the hospitality!

    Mark2016-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Jeanne's beautiful home so we could attend a wedding nearby. Jeanne welcomed us in person and with a nice note, and was very accommodating. We had breakfast at the diner up the street, which is classic. We weren't able to spend a lot of time in the house but hope to come back again soon.

    Laura2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne and her home were amazing! She is so kind, thoughtful and an interesting person to talk to. This was my parents first Airbnb experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one. They had the chance to meet and speak with John and said he was great too. Their home, gardens and property is a dream- don't miss out on this spot- I know I'll be visiting again!

  • Jeanne's place is lovely. Although we didn't get the chance to meet in person, she was prompt to reply to any question prior to arrival and made sure everything was ready for our stay. The house is spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable. The river in the backyard makes it a really nice place to relax and enjoy a casual week end with family or friends. Would definitely recommend it.

  • The place is truly exceptional down to the last detail. I cannot think of a better way to spend a long weekend in the winter. So comfortable and relaxing, it is the perfect place to recharge after a day on the slopes. We look forward to coming again.

    Omar2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne was extremely friendly and accommodating even though we arrived a week earlier than had been communicated due to a booking authorization error on AirBnB's side. The house was very welcoming, as was John and Jeanne. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking pots, pans, and utensils which made cooking during our ski trip a blast. The gas stove was extremely nice to cook with. The entire house was spotless and very clean, Internet was fast, and the location was a short 25-30 minute drive to Jay Peak; would definitely come back for future trips. Thank you for your hospitality!

Willoughby Haven is the ideal place to relax and unwind. It sits on 4 private acres including a large lawn leading up to 400 feet of private beach with amazing views. Lake Willoughby is very peaceful and relaxing. Jet skis and wave runners are not allowed and there are not many boats. There are seven cabins but we only rent out four (one is a game room, we use one for our family and we are redoing one). Willoughby Haven is great for couples and families with kids to have fun and relax!
You will have access to kayaks and canoes and there is a picnic table, adirondack chairs and a charcoal grille behind each cabin. Willoughby Haven is 3.5 hours from Boston and is 6 hours from New York City.
The Willoughby Lake Country Store is right across the street. They have groceries, ice, beer, wine, sandwiches and pizza and Jim and Sandy who own it are fantastic.
  • This is a small but very clean and charming cabin. The beds were comfortable and everythig was very clean. The property is perfect with a private beach and prime location for evening sunsets. The store is directly across the street and has everythung you moght need. They also make amazing sandwiches and pizzas. Order your pizza in the morning so they can prepare it for the time you wish to pick them up. The weather was so nice we never used the game room but on a rainy day it also looks fun. I would definitely recommend these cabins. Caution #4 does not have a stove. We brought a gas grill and enjoyed meals cooked outside!

    Tracy2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. We were there with our family of six. The space slept us comfortably. There is plenty of room to eat inside but we enjoyed every meal outside. There is a picnic table right by the cabin and also several by the water. The beach is great because it stays shallow for such a long distance. I often enjoyed wading in the water, while others in our family kayaked and swam. There is a wonderful grassy area too. Various family members played frisbee, basketball, horseshoes and football. We loved the view of the lake with the mountains behind it from the screen porch, which has a comfortable futon to relax on. We enjoyed the Willoughby Store which truly was right across the street. It had a bit of everything, covering any supplies that we forgot, and also great ice cream. We hope to stay here again and highly recommend it.

    maureen2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was more than we expected. In fact, we wanted to add a night, but the cabins were all rented. There was so much peace and opportunity to disconnect with work and society and reconnect with nature and our family. The store was great, and the cabin was spacious and very accommodating! What a lovely slice of heaven this property is! The rock slide and the lake provided us with tons of family friendly entertainment. Thanks, Jonathan!

  • Great place, we have rented in Vermont before but this was our favorite place. They are truly accommodating in everyway. We can't wait to go back again.

    Ted2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Barton. The house was very nice, clean and welcoming, very easy to find and with easy access to the lake. You can tell Sally and Allen have at heart to make their house welcoming and make sure their guests enjoy their stay. They were also flexible on the check-in/out times, which was much appreciated and it was very nice to chat with Sally to coordinate our stay. Being the very first guests, a few items were missing but they welcomed feedback and I know they are making sure everything is in place for future guests. And the fact that the house has 2 nice full bathrooms (one off the living area and the other off the master bedroom) is really convenient. They also have a very nice canoe and we rented another one at the camping ground so that the 6 of us could go together. We had a nice hike up the road behind the camping grounds and into a path to the ledgers, which gave us a beautiful view of the lake. And only a ~ 15 min. drive from the house, we had a wonderful hike up Mount Pisgah (up the North trail, and down the South trail, leaving one car in each location) and then, a great swim in Lake Willoughby. The town of Newport is also close by and has a very nice waterfront and great restaurants. So, all in all, a very nice stay in Vermont.

Our lakefront cottages are located on Lake Willoughby, in Vermont’s scenic Northeast Kingdom. We have aluminum rowing boats, tennis court, basketball and ping pong table. You can rent or bring your own canoes/kayaks, or if you have a motor boat or sailboat, we have mooring capability too. We are really close of hiking and mountain bike trails. In the fall, this is a great time to hike, enjoy the changing Foliage. After watching sunset, you can enjoy a cozy evening in front of your fireplace.
  • I can't say enough about the natural beauty and peace and quiet of these lovely cabins on Lake Willoughby. I wanted to take my mom to an overnight stay lakefront to celebrate her 80th birthday, and this far exceeded any expectations. Renee is the BEST host: gracious, friendly, charming, and available without being overbearing. She even had a lovely gift for my mom's birthday. The cabin, #3, is the BEST: amazing location right on the lakefront, with a breathtaking view of the sunset. The pictures and description really don't do this location justice! The cabin was immaculately clean, a huge priority for our group, charming, and with a huge fireplace, that kept us warm and smiling. The cabin reminded us of vacations of long ago, with very comfy beds, and a kitchen that was fully functional. I just can't say enough about this beautiful place, except, as the French say, a la prochaine!

    Mike2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little escape this was! My only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend here. But now, knowing that this little piece of paradise exists, I will make a point of visiting it anytime I am in Vermont. This was definitely a highlight of my trip! Thank you!

    Braedan 2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Renee's cabins are clean and cozy. The lake and mountains are a magical place to relax and explore with a family. Renee was a sweet, available and helpful host. When I arrived (a few hours after my family) the children's first words to me were "you have to come meet Renee"! This is definitely a fun family vacation spot that we will return to.

    Kristen2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Renee's camps are prime location at Lake Willoughby - right on the lake with private and stunning views. She is incredibly welcoming and we felt so taken care of. We would love to come back and stay longer next time! Perfect for any time of year!

You have the option to ride the boat if you want. Nice and neat cozy 2 bedroom log house on the lake. Very calm, quiet and wonderful place. We will definitively go there next year.

Enjoy this Magical Lodge style cabin on private 75 acres nestled in the mountains. A five minute drive down to pristine Lake Willoughby, 25 mins to world class mountain biking trails (kingdom trails), and 30 or 50 minute drive to ski resorts Burke and Jay Peak, respectively. This space is perfect for couples, friends and families who want to enjoy all Vermont's glorious Northeast Kingdom has to offer (fish, hike, bike, ski, & more), while still getting away from it all.
3 THINGS PEOPLE LOVE about our HOME: 1 - The house is truly unique. It feels a bit like a cross between a tree house and a hobbit house. From the gracefully curved wood throughout, to the natural stone inside and out, to the sod (grass) roof, to the private 75 acres that are yours to roam, it is a truly special place. The two story stone fireplace is awesome and the open floor plan allows you to enjoy each other's company with plenty of room to hang out and make memories. 2 - The area is simply amazing - listed in NYTimes best seller "1000 Places to See Before You Die" - the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) is spectacular. And you will find some of the most beautiful spots in the NEK are minutes away from our property. There is something for everyone, for every season: hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, beach, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling (VAST) , and foliage viewing. And one glimpse of the night sky (away from those city lights) will literally take your breath away. 3 - The woods surrounding our home are beautiful. Discover local wildlife in the beaver pond in your backyard or walking the property. Just this season, we have been seen a moose, a couple of black bears, and a fox, among others. We also have a fire pit, a BBQ, picnic table, hammock, and plenty of space to run around - all of which makes for a great spot to spend time outdoors with family and friends. 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting: 1 - Our home is in the woods and it is off the beaten path. Although it is located near many desirable NEK activities, don't expect to find a Starbucks on our street corner. Big box stores are about 25 mins away in Derby (north) or Lyndonville (south), and there are plenty of other towns within 30 mins to explore. That said, there is the local country store (open year round), that has a great craft beer and wine selection, sandwiches, gas, and everything else your could possibly need. Come summer, they have an ice-cream window with just about the best ice-cream you have ever had. There is also a delicious restaurant at the Willoughvale inn (also at 10 mins). Note: Local places close at ~9pm; the perfect time to head home for a cozy night in. 2 - During mud season and winter you will be happiest with a 4 wheel drive/an SUV . The driveway to the house is a half mile up a dirt road. We take care to keep the road plowed and clear, but remember ...this IS snow country! Also, if you can arrive during daylight hours, it will make your first encounter driving to the house more relaxed. 3. There is no cell service at the house. So if you want to be disconnected, you have a good excuse! We do have reliable high speed internet and you can connect your phone wirelessly; there is also a phone/land line for your use.
This stunning property is surrounded by glorious mountain views, no shortage of wildlife and plenty of space to roam. The breathtaking scenery surrounding the area is constantly changing with the seasons. Swim, fish, bike, hike, ski- it is all at you fingertips from this ultra private retreat. It's the perfect spot to enjoy many outdoor activities all year round!
  • Our stay at Dreamcatcher was more than we imagined. Communication with Michelle was easy and always friendly. The cabin was clean and provided plenty of space to relax and enjoy this remote part of Vermont. There's was plenty of exploring to do right outside the door. We hope to stay in this lovely home again. We were so grateful to find this gem.

  • We absolutely loved the house and the surrounding area. It was a perfect setting for a peaceful retreat - beautiful, comfortable, and unique. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Their tips and directions were very helpful. We highly recommend this wonderful place and hope to return there ourselves.

  • A truly unique house, well equipped and supplied. Exceptional quiet and solitude. The host provided timely communications that made our visit a cinch, including navigating to the place after dark. Beds and bedrooms are small, but the large common rooms more than made up. House is well lit for general purposes, though could use a couple more reading lamps in the living room to make the ample space more usable at night. Overall a wonderful place and accommodating host. Would come again.

    Catherine2017-09-28T00:00:00Z

  • I stayed in Dreamcatcher for a couple nights and wished I could have stayed longer! The house is so welcoming as you come down the driveway. Whether outside or inside the house, you constantly feel surrounded by nature, peace, and quiet. The perfect place to unplug and unwind. I found Dreamcatcher very easy to get to using GPS and the surrounding Lake Willoughby Area is beautiful!

  • This was a 10 star experience! What a gem of place!! All of the communications with Michelle were easy and efficient & all of the instructions throughout the house were clear and made for a seamless stay. I particularly appreciated the well stocked kitchen, the grill (so clean!), the abundance of blankets and cozy spaces, and the iPhone speaker was an added bonus. I look forward to visiting again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy getaway in the Vermont mountains!

  • This place is straight out of a fairytale. It's tucked away down a dirt road and through a field of wild flowers. The setting is exquisite. And house is BEAUTIFUL. The craftsmanship is something to be admired. And the home was so comfortable and clean. We did not want to leave. This place is magical.

  • Dreamcatcher is thoroughly unique. It is a beautiful, custom made home built with both craftsmanship and whimsy. Fully equipped with thought and care. Cheerful, fun, and clean. An ideal spot for those looking to immerse themselves in the solitude of the NEK while also enjoying superb hiking, paddling and mountain biking. A place to reconnect with loved ones and be reminded of the things that matter most.

This is a family cottage built in 1906 and renovated over the past 30 years to recapture that early 20th century ambiance. It is located on the east shore of Lake Willoughby which is considered the the finest lake in Vermont for its mountain views and pristine waters. We offer also a private sandy beach [ 100 feet of a 750-foot beach] which is perhaps one of the finer white sandy beaches in New England. We have had many happy families return year after year. More pictures are available.
Why this Property is Unique: WHITE SANDY BEACH: First, our beach is outstanding and probably tops all other beaches in New England. It truly is white sand and very clean. Willoughby water is crystal clear and pristine. Willoughby is touted as the finest lake in the State. The white sand continues into the lake, i.e. no rocks. Crescent Beach is 750 feet long on the west side of the lake. We own 100 feet dead center with a cold sandy brook on one border for drinks and food. You often have the entire beach for your family, or there may be a few others present, but with much space compared to a crammed public beach at the north end of the lake. TENTING ON THE BEACH: A second plus is that the cottage faces the sunset while the beach at 10 min by boat across the lake faces the sunrise. It is an incredible experience to tent on the beach an awaken to a fresh south wind or perfectly still waters in the early am. LIKE AN EXTRA DAY; Another plus: Returning from the cottage in the afternoon as shadows creep over the beach is like getting an entirely new day at the cottage, since the cottage faces the sunset. At 80 with decades of experience, I am still surprised and delighted. In addition to tenting on the beach, a tent may be placed on the 10'x10' platform in front of the cottage by the shore. The 'parental' room looks down on the platform and all sounds may be noted...but it truly is a beautiful site which a child (or adult) will never forget. BOAT AND MOTOR AND CANOE: We also offer a freebie boat and motor to cruise around the lake and to go to the beach (0.6 miles). We make it a "freebie" just in case it fails, or as in one case when someone dropped it in the water. Now we are taking measures to make sure it is available for every week -- and with good success. FISHING FOR BIG ONES: Willoughby has produced some lunker lake trout in the 20 to 40 lb range. They are there -- but rare. We do provide trolling equipment with lead core line and terminal tackle and other fishing equipment (fly, casting, and spinning). If you ask I shall tell you the method and where to catch lake trout. Most good fisherman who follow my advise have been successful -- and it is not by trolling which is common on Willoughby. :-)
