Places to stay in Broughton
A unique and eclectic loft conversion in the heart of the quiet village of Carleton, 1.5 miles outside the popular market town of Skipton, 'Gateway to the Dales'. Offering seclusion, privacy and comfort, this is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Carleton has a pub, a social club, a village store, a Post Office, a pharmacy, and direct bus links to Skipton during the week. The Pennine Way crosses the top of Carleton Moor and sections of 2014 Tour de France are on the doorstep.
The Loft is a third floor apartment, comprising a spacious living room with a smart TV including its own Netflix log in and DVD player, a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, secondary WC, bedroom, and private outdoor terrace. The apartment is very light and airy during the day; extremely cosy on a night, and at its best on a summer day when the terrace comes into its own, which is accessed directly from both the living room and bedroom.
A beautiful village in the Yorkshire Dales with a great sense of community.
  • Brilliant stay, the flat is as described - very modern and a lovely space. The communication throughout was great. Lovely area to explore.

  • Amazing. Cannot fault the stay. Beautiful place with lovely touches. Thank you!

  • Kerrie was a wonderful host, providing us with instant responses and helping greatly with info about the weather and flooding round the village. The place is lovely, very clean and modern. Even has it's own Netflix login! And the location is fantastic for popping into the dales for walks. The village pub is across the street. We would definitely stay there again. It has all the kitchen and utility facilities needed (oven, hob, toaster etc and dishwasher, washing machine etc.). All in all, a fantastic place to stay.

There are many lovely walks straight from the door step, which can incorporate some of the local pubs from nearby villages. Carleton itself has a lovely modern country pub The Swan Inn , which is dog friendly , is approx 3 min walk and serves some really excellent food . It serves food every day 12-9pm.
  • Beautiful, contemporary place with lots of lovely extra touches making guests feel very welcome. Mel and Jason are wonderful hosts. The apartment was sparkling clean and the amenities second to none. Our dog had a wonderful time, lots of space and playing with Mel and Jason’s dogs. Great location within a short stroll to a lovely pub (Swan Inn) where we were made very welcome. The welcome groceries were a real treat.

  • Lovely home in a scenic setting! Only a 5 minute drive to skipton town and a cosy and warm home with heated flooring which was lush. Me and my partner were so content we ended up staying in and watching Netflix on the wide screen TV snuggled up in the livingroom with the dog! No regrets! Just what we needed! Great base if visiting skipton town!

  • What a stunning home! So cosy and welcoming. I stayed with my dogs for one night and found it to be absolute bliss! So quiet at night too! Loved the gated area, very secure for my pups, so I felt quite happy letting them out. Some wonderful little touches - the flowers were stunning, thank you! So much more than I expected, would stay again!

We are 4 miles from the market town of Skipton renowned for its market and castle. Skipton has a wide selection of pubs, wine bars and restaurants. Malham Cove made famous by the filming of scenes from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is 4 miles away with amazing views across the Dales. The Yorkshire Dales National Park provides unlimited hiking and cycling. For the more adventurous cyclists there is Gisburn Forest providing different levels of trails.
This is the room at the top of our home and we would love to welcome you here. We are located in the lovely village of Gargrave situated on the path of the Pennine Way.
Gargrave is a small village but we have the river that runs through as does the Leeds Liverpool canal which provides short walks . There are also a couple of local pubs providing homemade pub meals there is also an excellent award winning Indian restaurant.
  • Simply lovely - welcoming and bright bedroom, has everything you need. Highly recommend and great value for money

Beautifully renovated 18th century listed, self contained annexe with fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, large vaulted bedroom with exposed beams. Situated in the centre of Gargrave village near the river and on the edge of the rugged and beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park . Perfect for exploring the area, a stones throw from the Pennine Way, only 10 minutes walk from the train station and canal. Complimentary Au Lait toiletries. Well behaved doggies welcome.
Cosy open plan bespoke country kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and fridge, dining area and lounge with exposed stone walls and cobbled courtyard with parking to outside. Bespoke oak staircase takes you to stunning light and airy bedroom with exposed roof beams and ensuite marble bathroom
Gargrave really is in a great position, on the Pennine way and on the edge of the fabulous Dales but not too far away from anything you might need, even Michelin star restaurants (yes they do exist outside London !) For the antique hunters out there (and we love everything 18th century) there are three very good antique shops in Gargrave. There is a fantastic farm shop with fabulous meat and veg only 5 minutes away, and the best cheese shop ever, 20 mins up the road towards Cumbria which itself is only just over an hours drive. For those wishing to leave the cooking and get hot and spicy there is an award winning Indian restaurant only 4 doors away. For the gourmands we have some fantastic fine dining experiences close by, with the very nice Angel at Hetton (8 min drive) which has recently been taken over by 2 Michelin * chef Michael Wignall from Gidleigh Park, the superb Burlington at the Devonshire Arms Bolton Abbey (15 min drive and which deserves a Michelin * ! ) and the Michelin * White Swan a little further at Fence (30 min) . If you want to go down the traditional route there are two cracking real Yorkshire pubs serving good Yorkshire ale and pub food and a good fish and chip shop only a 5 minute stroll away. Fancy a good old English breakfast then we have a nice little cafe at the end of the road. The River Aire is just a stones throw where you can skip across the stepping stones and have a picnic by the river. We are not too far away from the beautiful Bolton Abbey (with super walks by the river), the Pendle witches, Bronte country and Boundary Mill for great bargains for the shopaholics !
  • The cottage is alot bigger than I thought. Especially the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The rooms are bright and cozy. Loved how the cottage is set up. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook. We went to the two pubs both great village pubs. We also had a Indian take away which was worth the money. Loved our stay so will you I am sure.

  • Alison's place is a wonderful base to explore Yorkshire Dales from, located on the Pennine Way. Alison was most helpful with maps on the local walks, handy telephone numbers, etc. The house is even better than advertised - there are many thoughtful touches like lovely toiletries, lots of board games and magazines for the cold evenings and very well done up interiors. A converted portion of their house, one gets the feeling that a lot of careful effort and love went into the design. Alison was very hospitable and kept in touch with us before, especially as our plans changed last minute. She was there in person to check us in and give us a warm welcome. Our only regret is that we had to cut our trip short and could not stay longer. Really hoping to be back some day.

    Ekta2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • A well equipped place with everything you will need. Easy off-road parking. Some nice touches including toiletries, teas and choccie biscuits. Excellent welcome pack with suggestions of places to visit and where to eat. Good location for us to explore the Dales. Close to Skipton and a short walk to a Co-op, the river and canal. If you're light sensitive, be aware the daylight comes through the bathroom rooflight into the bedroom.

    Andrew2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • As always another great stay. Lovely place to stay.

    Tina2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at Alison's place. On arrival, Keith and Alison were very hospitable and gave us some great ideas of things to do in the local area. The house is absolutely stunning and there are loads of little extras which make it just really well thought out and special. The local area is absolutely stunning and we can't wait to come back and explore some more! Would highly recommend.

  • Another great stay.

    Tina2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely welcome from Alison in a cold and wet day. The annex looked welcoming and Alison had put side lights on to make it look cosy and warm. The decor is beautiful and finished to a high spec. Everything that you need is provided as well as little extras to give that finishing touch. Highly recommend a visit.

  • A cosy, very comfortable cottage with wonderful views across the river and countryside beyond. Great location for walking in the countryside and along the canal, with Malham and all the associated walks around there close at hand, accessed either by bus or your own car within about 15 or so minutes. Village has two good log fire dog friendly pubs. Our first time in Gargrave, and would recommend staying here.

  • We stayed at Jeremy's place because we were attending a family Wedding at Coniston Hall - 5mins drive away. We found Jeremy and Jacqui to be most helpful and friendly hosts and the cottage clean, tastefully decorated and everything you need to be comfortable. We hope to return for a better exploration of the area which is peaceful and lovely. Thanks.

Crag Wood View has everything you could need for your stay in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The tiny house is comprised of a garden room (bedroom/living room), next to which is a SEPARATE building housing the kitchen/shower room. The house is situated in a private, secluded and quiet area behind our home in a garden that attracts wildlife all year round. Blinds are pulled down over the two windows at the rear of our house ensuring complete privacy for both hosts and guests during your stay.
A totally one-off type of self-catering accommodation with a modern and minimal set up, yet still retaining a traditional and cosy vibe. Very quirky and original. Easy to walk around, use and enjoy, as all guest areas are on ground level. We are fortunate to live on the edge of the village, which is so much quieter than the centre - only a 5 minute walk when you need something, but peace, quiet and relaxation when you don't! The tiny house has a fully fitted and modern kitchen with all of the equipment you could ever need for dining, including a Cafetière for that important morning coffee. The property is ideal for longer stays as there is a massive freezer and two fridges for storing lots of food/drink as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer to keep on top of your laundry. We have Netflix and Freeview TV available on a flat screen ‘smart’ TV for guests to enjoy during their stay as well as free Wi-Fi to use, playing cards and board game. For those who enjoy listening to the radio we have a DAB radio alarm clock with USB charging ports (as well as a multi-plug extension lead with USB charging ports). You can also pick up many radio stations on the TV as well as plenty of apps including YouTube. The TV also has ports for plugging in either a USB stick or external hard drive if you like to bring your own entertainment with you when you travel. Also provided are portable and waterproof bluetooth speakers for you to connect to and use, perfect for listening to in the shower room, whilst cooking in the kitchen or out in the garden. There is a gym that is only a 5 minute walk (0.2 miles) away from the tiny house (£5 for a day pass or £20 for a weekly pass), a Co-Op supermarket for all of your essentials, pharmacy, dentists, 3 pubs in the village offering excellent food and drink, a fantastic Fish & Chip shop (which is a takeaway and a restaurant combined), an Indian restaurant and the cyclist's favourite -> The Dalesman Cafe and Sweet Emporium, who offer breakfasts (including a full English), lite bites and many, many old fashioned sweets as well as their famous 'Flat Rascal'! (As seen on C5's 'Celebrity Britain by Barge'). In the village we also have a couple of hairdressers, a florists, antique shops, clothes shop, a bicycle repair shop and a tandem bicycle shop. We're only 3 miles away from The Coniston Hotel and so an ideal place for wedding guests to stay or for anybody visiting the Coniston for any of their events or wishing to use their spa facilities - they offer a great 4x4 'off-road' experience which we would highly recommend having a go at! We're 4 miles away from the market town of Skipton (very direct and easy to get to by private or public transport) with its wonderfully preserved medieval Castle, eclectic mix of shops, markets, swimming pool, cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, supermarkets and vintage Plaza Cinema. Crag Wood View is a great place to stay, the perfect base for a visit to the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, the Lake District or industrial West Yorkshire. You won't find anywhere else quite like it!
Gargrave is a peaceful village on the edge of the Dales, surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, a typically Yorkshire rural retreat with friendly locals, amazing 'Instagram worthy' scenery and an expansive network of cycling roads, public footpaths and walkways for you to enjoy.

Poppy Cottage No. 2 is set in the quiet village of Carleton; just 2 miles and within comfortable walking distance of Skipton. The cottage has been lovingly restored from what was the original barn to Ivy Cottage Farm (a traditional Yorkshire Dales farmhouse) retaining many of the original features associated with the building. With glorious Yorkshire Dales countryside on your doorstep; the village has a local pub serving meals, a village store and great walks on your doorstep and into town.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can comfortably sleep up to 5 people with the use of the pull out sofabed in the lounge. It has been converted from the original barn attached to the farmhouse of Ivy Cottage Farm. Sadly no longer a working farm; Ivy Cottage and Poppy Cottages have open countryside to the rear and stunning views which stretch across the valley towards Skipton; the hills and moors surrounding the town making a colourful backdrop. Poppy Cottage No. 2 has held onto many of its original barn features with exposed stonework, whitewashed beams and stone fireplace with wood burning stove. It is a large spacious home which can sleep up to 5 with the use of the pull-out sofabed in the lounge and the added benefit of a ground floor shower room. The house bathroom is to the first floor with large bath and shower cubicle. The newly fitted kitchen has a dining area and is complete with dishwasher, fridge freezer, electric cooker and hob and all the kitchen essentials required for self-catering. You will find tea, coffee and sugar all in the kitchen and on the day of arrival, a jug of fresh milk, for that all important cuppa on arrival. The spacious lounge has two 3-seater sofas (one being a sofa/bed) and armchair, a wood-burning stove set in a stone fireplace. There is a spacious double bedroom to the first floor, which has twin wooden beds that can be made into a superking bed if preferred and a single bedroom with standard size single bed. Both rooms have fantastic views and across the landing there is the large family bathroom. Travel cot and bedding & high chair are stored in the cottage and there is a stairgate fitted. The garden area to the front of the cottage is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. It is not completely private as there is an access path to the other cottages it does however provide an elevated place to sit, eat and generally relax, whilst taking in the stunning views of the hills and moors surrounding Skipton and Carleton. Outside in the shared courtyard with Poppy Cottage No. 1, there is some extra outdoor seating and parking for 2 cars. Lovely mature gardens surround both cottages. Poppy Cottages are both non smoking and no pets are allowed. Whilst there is no washing machine in the cottages you are able to use our washing machine at Ivy Cottage Farm if needed.
We live in a lovely village Carleton in Craven, their is a great community atmosphere here and the Carleton Web group keep us up to date with all that's is going on. Skipton is only a 5 minute drive away for some very fine eating places and is a lovely colourful market town steeped in history take a look at Skipton on the web.

  • This is a real find. The host's communication before the stay is excellent. Once you are there the high spec and little touches like tea making facilities on the landing and hand soap in the bathrooms help to make this place feel luxurious. We loved it x

A superb little cottage in Carleton, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, suitable for couples or small families, and those with an interest in walking. Situated on the outskirts of Skipton, this ideal little bolt hole is on a regular bus route; and is ideally close to stunning locations. Carleton, has several amenities such as a shop, pub and pharmacy. Special features include a log burner and exposed stone work. Includes all the mod cons such as wifi, freeview TV and a DVD player.
This superb cottage has many unique characteristics which are in keeping with the cottage and country life theme. Guests have access to the whole cottage.
  • Great cottage, really enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean, quiet and very close to a great pub and local shop. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

    Andrew2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place was perfect. Cosy cottage well situated for exploring the area. With a shop and a pub less than a minute away we wanted for nothing. Ryan had also left us the essentials upon arrival. (Bread, milk, etc) The cottage also had all the things you need on a daily basis. (Cooking equipment, laundry things!) The wood burner is a great touch but the central heating was more than sufficient to keep all there warm and comfortable. Ryan himself replied to messages promptly, made himself available for questions, and helped us get a better understanding of the area. 5 stars all round.

    Simon2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful village. Everything you need in the cottage, stylish, spotlessly clean, highly recommended.

  • Lovely location and stunning cottage.

    Bradley2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay in a lovely village. The house was very clean, including all the glassware etc in the kitchen, which was very much appreciated. The house is comfortable and cosey, which was very welcome after a day walking at Malham Cove. There is a shop right on the doorstep and a pub very close as well. Ryan was very prompt at replying from the initial booking all the way through to our stay, and helped us with tips for somewhere nice to eat in the evening. His hospitality was great, even giving us a lift to the restaurant he recommended in a nearby village. Couldn’t have asked for anymore and would recommend staying there to anyone.

    Tom2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • A good location, very clean with everything we needed. The self check in was very easy and we really appreciated the little extras like the milk in the fridge and pack of biscuits! Great place to stay to explore the Yorkshire Dales.

  • A superb place in a stunning setting. Excellent facilities and a great hostess.

  • Brilliant place, great hosts and a spectacular view

    Richard2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The hayloft was exactly as described, it’s a clean, well designed and comfortable space. Check in was very straightforward, and Julie had provided some essentials for tea, coffee and breakfast. The kitchen was well stocked enough to cook some simple meals. The location is remote with great views. The house is situated adjacent to the Land Rover Experience Yorkshire, there is a bit of activity during the day that might bother some, it wasn’t an issue for me and you’re on your own after 5pm. I would definitely stay at the hayloft again.

    John2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting family in Skipton and needed a family and dog friendly place nearby to stay. This was just perfect for us, the whole family felt relaxed and enjoyed their stay. The views are amazing and the staff who work on site were all really warm and welcoming. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. We enjoyed a walk down to The Bull Inn one morning also. We will be back, availability allowing!

    Angela2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julie’s place is clean, beautifully decorated, and feels very deluxe! They provided us with cereal, tea and coffee which was a nice touch. Not to mention that the view from the house is of stunning rolling hills and grazing sheep. Very idyllic! Would definitely return :)

    Safira2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect off-the-beaten track self-catering 2 bedroom home with superb views (with added Landrovers, at times!) Clean and uncluttered and very comfortable. Recommend.

    Jane2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this lovely place for a weekend visit to the Yorkshire Dales. It has the most amazing views and is set in a picturesque and peaceful area. Lovely interior as well which was well equipped and had just everything we needed for our stay. Thank you!

    Hayley2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft is a warm, beautiful space and a great base for exploring Skipton and beyond. I was concerned before checking in because I'd seen a few reviews to say that you may be woken up when the Landrover Experience opens up as the accommodation is in the car park, however this was unfounded as we found it peaceful when it was open and closed. The walk across the estate to The Bull at Broughton is beautiful and you are close enough to Skipton to get a taxi for a reasonable price if you wanted to visit restaurants/pub there.

  • What a lovely place to stay. So relaxing and fresh. An ideal place to switch off and have some quality time with family or friends. Loved the communal area with real log burning fire and games. Me and my husband had a night away for our wedding anniversary and definitely feel refreshed after a lovely nights sleep. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning. • Amazing AirBnB only 5 mins from Skipton with off road private parking easy access to the Malham Cove for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The beds were extremely comfortable and the space had plenty of thoughtful touches such as gingerbread, fresh fruit and filter coffee. The space is new since Sept 2019 with stylish interior design and great attention to detail. In the evening we lit the log fire and enjoyed relaxing in the communal area. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

  • We were only at The Coach House a short time but the time that we were there was absolutely wonderful. On arrival, we were greeted warmly by Jean who showed us around The Coach House (which is utterly beautiful) before leading us to our private room where a bottle of fizz was very thoughtfully left for us as we were celebrating our engagement. The room was very well appointed with a very comfortable bed and large shower. Breakfast (pastries, cereal, toast, juice, fruit, yoghurt, tea & coffee) was also included which was a great start to each morning! We can't wait to stay at The Coach House again.

  • We stayed one night at the Coach House and it was lovely! The room is exactly as it looks in the picture with beautiful decor and immaculate cleanliness. Both the room and bathroom are very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. After a long day exhibiting at Yarndale, that was much appreciated. The little touches, like cakes and water laid out for us at arrival, were lovely. There is wifi access and a beautiful, cosy communal lounge for relaxing in with a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. The breakfast was great too with a three types of cereal and choice of almond milk or cow's milk, toast with a range of preserves, fresh fruits, yogurt and delicious pastries. The host is across the road so any issues can be sorted out quickly. We didn't have any! All in all, a lovely stay and highly recommended!

Yorkshire Dales at its best. The Healthy Home sleeps 14 and is a beautiful haven for family gatherings, birthdays, walkers, and business or Yoga Retreats. Offering breathtaking views, with cosy spaces, private sheltered terraces. Minutes from Skipton. Perfect house party venue. It's a very large property with over 18 rooms. New additions are a 6th shower and a large historic dining room. The house has been featured on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 News.
The house is a product of loving design and attention to detail, curving surfaces and all natural materials including wood, marble and natural eco paints. The sensitive renovation & building work inspired a best-selling book called The Healthy Home. People visiting from the city often find they sleep unexpectedly deeply, feeling rested and rejuvenated. The 750 year old original cottage was extended in 1997 by conversion of the barn and then in 2004 the stunning extension was added with its 2-storey high 2m wide windows, offering a twenty mile view over the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The county is a favourite for film locations and close to here was the setting for Calendar Girls (debuted in our local cinema!) and Wuthering Heights. The garden is a nature haven with a small field and woodland behind and a protected hillside wild garden in front. Organically cultivated for the forty five years we have owned it, the garden is quite a nature sanctuary…. we've counted 30 species of birds from wrens and collard doves to lapwings, curlews, barn owls and sparrow hawks. PLEASE NOTE: **** The minimum stay for New Year and most (but not all) weekends is three nights not two. Two nights effectively give you just an evening and one day in this huge property of 20 rooms and most guests say they wish they had booked longer stays *****
Looking across miles of beautiful countryside is food for the soul bringing peace and well-being. The extraordinary and ever-changing beauty of the Yorkshire Dales and the life and spirit of local villages and towns offers endless variety. The famous Pennine Way passes within a quarter mile of here and there are five local footpaths and bridleways to enjoy just a few meters from our gate. Skipton is ten minutes down the hill with its ancient castle, bustling cobbled high street, renowned market, location on the Leeds-Liverpool canal, and was recently declared the best place to live in Britain by the Sunday Times. Bronte's Howarth is less than half an hour as is the Duke of Devonshire's estate, Grassington (Festivals) and Settle, with Malham a little lunch.
  • Fantastic views, loads of space inside, quirky and fun. If you have up to 14 people this is the place. Handy for railway stations at Skipton and Cononley and pubs in Carleton and Lothersdale. Lots of local walks. Great fun place

An immaculate family bathroom (with walk in shower and bath) and utility room is also located on the ground floor. Carleton In Craven is a small village approximately 2 miles from Skipton. The village has a pub, shop, park and pharmacy
  • The barn conversion is a lovely place to stay. Loads of room upstairs and had everything we needed. Ideal location for exploring the local area. Communication was quick and efficient. We even had a home made coffee cake waiting for us which was delicious! Thank you.

  • What a lovely surprise to find such a spacious, clean, comfortable rental so close to Skipton (Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, etc.) within walking distance to a top-notch pub. Our family of four + another couple had plenty of room to spread out with the two INCREDIBLY clean bathrooms, upstairs living area, and three bedrooms. We especially loved the flowers throughout, the electric fireplace, the large dining area, the comfortable seating options, the views from the living room, and the hospitality of the owners, who interacted with us on several occasions. The entryway room with washer and room for coats/ shoes was an added bonus. We hope to return and meet family again one day. Highly recommended!

    Catherine2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing property locatedin the best place for walks and drives to Skipton. Communication from Ruth was brilliant and she provided us with detail and information about the property and local area. We all cannot wait to stay again next year!

  • This is a fab place, really spacious and spotlessly clean, comfy beds, great showers, lovely views and easy access to Skipton and Ilkley. The home baked banana bread was especially welcome! A great find in a great village in N Yorks.

    Lyn2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The house is very clean and was comfortable for us, a group of 6 adults and a toddler. The nice touches of some toys and a home baked cake on arrival made our visit extra special. Carleton is charming and in good procimity or Skipton and many other great places to visit, but it is a very quiet place without many amenities. Perfect base for a quiet weekend exploring North Yorkshire!

The Granary is set in the quiet village of Carleton just 2 miles from Skipton and was built in 2012 from Yorkshire stone to create an annexe to the original farmhouse, Ivy Cottage Farm. Sadly no longer a working farm, Ivy Cottage Farm is an original 17th Century Dales longhouse with open countryside to the rear and views of the hills. There are some lovely local walks from your doorstep and the village itself has a local pub serving; village shop/off license, and regular bus service into town.
The Granary is a stylish, one bedroomed apartment/annexe, newly refurbished with underfloor heating. It is all on one level with just 3 steps from the communal entrance hall to its internal front door and has a very stylish and contemporary interior. The open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area has wonderful high ceilings with exposed wooden trusses and bi-folding doors look out and lead to the south facing, private decked patio where you have views of the garden, hills and countryside. In the one bedroom, the beds can be arranged either as twin beds or together to form a comfortable superking bed. This cosy little pad is ideal for couples and provides a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town. Skipton is very accessible from Carleton and is just a 5-minute drive away or easy level walk across open fields or by following the pavemented route along the road. Carleton itself has a few amenities; with the village pub, local store/off-licence, serving groceries, newspapers etc and is open 7 days a week; a phamacy and a Post Office. The village also has a regular bus service, Monday to Friday, for those who want to leave the car behind.
Carleton is a lovely rural village with stunning views across the valley into Skipton known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. It is very typically Yorkshire and the fields surrounding the village are often full with sheep and cattle. The hills and moors which surround the village make a very colourful and scenic backdrop.
  • This is my favourite Air BnB that I’ve stayed in. Everything is brilliant from start to finish. Sally thinks of everything. The information she sends a week in advance is so helpful. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and amazingly stylish with every modern convenience you could imagine. Great location too and great tips for local eateries etc. We have already booked our return visit.

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Granary was absolutely perfect. The space is ideal for a weekend (or an even longer) trip, and the location is perfect to explore both Skipton and further up the Dales. It was very easy to move around (walk, car, taxi - and even Uber!) and at the same time you get the peace and quiet one would expect from a small Yorkshire town. The cottage had everything we needed - it was stylish, modern, fully equipped, and very cosy. We loved it so much that we are already planning on our next visit!

    Pili2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at The Granary, the accommodation is lovely and is spotlessly clean. It was well equipped with everything we needed and Sally was a really welcoming and helpful host. Would definitely recommend.

  • A great stay, your place is lovely and the pictures definitely don’t do it justice. Very well designed space with lots of personal touches. The vaulted ceilings make the place spacious, fresh and airy. I really liked the quality of the bed, bedding, towels, sofa, recliner sofas, electric fire, TV functionally (air drop to phone). Very approachable hosts and accommodating for our situation with a Young infant. Would definitely recommend!

  • What a fabulous find. The house is excellent - in rolling countryside but easy to get to local Skipton. Each room was spotless and with a large ensuite too. Small living room, but dining room had more than enough space for us (7 adults). Would certainly recommend.

  • Yellsion is an absolutely stunning cottage with superb facilities and every comfort provided. A fully fitted modern kitchen - more than capable of catering for eight guests; a characterful dining room with a long table and seats for all guests. Each of the four en-suite bedrooms was warm, comfortable and with a well equipped bathroom with plenty of hot water. The lounge was comfy and the log burning stove was much appreciated when we lit it on the last evening of our stay. On arrival the house was sparklingly clean and thoughtful touches included milk and a box of flapjack to enjoy. The parking available was more than adequate for our needs and the welcome pack gave us any information we could possibly need during our stay. In short - we were all totally impressed with Yellison and would not hesitate to recommend it to other guests.
