  • Clean, comfortable place and in a very central location. The host, Kate and Michael were friendly and generous. We checked in on Christmas day and they invited us to join their family Christmas dinner. We would definetely recommend them and we know where to go when we visit Beverley next time.

This historic hotel has been serving the Wheat belt for 112 years. Once the entertainment space of Lord and Lady Forrest. The upstairs is fully contained with a kitchen, fridge, small appliances where a continental breakfast is supplied. A large lounging area with seating for 12 leads onto the wrap around balcony. The hotel is excellent for conferencing, family reunions, short and long term accommodation. Downstairs there are more areas with a pool table and juke box for entertainment.
Downstairs there is a commercial kitchen and heritage dining room available as a self catering option or we can provide the catering, hot breakfast, evening meal, crib lunches.
Pingelly 160kms southeast of Perth has one of the finest wildflower reserve lands "Tuttanning" in the world. Boyagin Rock is another interesting tourist destination.
  • Classic country pub with loads of character, took me back to a by gone era , I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the non stop stories from Ian in the public bar 😁😁

  • Very nice old historic house, very kind and humorous landlord, very beautiful and quiet town, very good place to stay again!

  • Classic Western Australian pub, just 160 kilometres from Perth through picturesque sheep and crop country to get here. A warm greeting from Jeanette and Ian await you, and then you get the chance to soak up the atmosphere of this grand old hotel that was built in 1906. All the accommodation rooms are upstairs, some with a view out over the big veranda, and the others with a view out over the historic Pingelly rooftops. The veranda is a great spot to watch the sunrise, and amazing to see the full moon rise as well if you time your visit right. Theres a fully equiped kitchen upstairs as well, with fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities to accompany the self serve continental breakfast. Home cooked meals here are pretty special too, thanks to Jeanette's kitchen skills, she's a great cook, then afterwards, the bar area is a pretty good place to plant yourself for a few hours and admire the historic surroundings and have a chat with Jeanette's husband Ian, who can point you in the right direction of all things Pingelly and surrounds. The Exchange Hotel is also close to Tutanning Nature Reserve, Dryandra Woodland and Boyagin Rock, all within easy reach of Pingelly, so spend the day looking at Western Australian native flora and fauna and spend the afternoon and evening in a grand old classic heritage hotel, and then do some star gazing from the veranda to end the night, it's a pretty amazing sky here, with no light pollution to spoil the view.

  • Pingelly is on route 120 which you can take as a longer alternative from Perth to Albany. I was birdwatching in Dryandra woodland and wanted to stay somewhere that felt like Australia of old. The tavern is an amazing building which made me hear the noises and hubbub which must have filled its rooms when first built in 1907. Perth didn't feel like Australia, but Pingelly certainly did. Jeanette's meals were enormous and friendly Ian on the bar looked straight out of the outback and is full of enough stories to fill an evening. This is not glamorous glitzy accommodation and has one shower and toilet for a lot of rooms. But it really is worth dropping in if you're in the area.

    Neil2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • I had booked Jeanette's place last minute to accommodate my team. The host was very hospitable with my request even though I wasn't staying at the property myself. My colleagues enjoyed their stay here, everything was above satisfaction! I've received a lot of pleasant comments from my guys in regards to her property.

    Mario2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful historical pub with amazing character. The welcome by Jeanette and Ian is very friendly and there are lots of stories to share if you want to sit at the bar when you arrive. The food was wonderful and even though I arrived late, Jeanette was still willing to cook me something. If you want something with character you can't beat this place. I was able to help myself to breakfast in the morning with a variety of cereals, jams, honeys, bread, tea and coffee, etc. which was always available. I would stay at this place again.

Just two hours out of Perth, nestled on the banks of the Avon River, Beverley is the perfect location for a weekend getaway or a quick day trip to get some fresh country air. Pack a picnic (or stock up at the local bakery) and head to the river, or the picturesque Yenyenning Lakes to soak up the scenery. Put your walking shoes on and hike up County Peak to enjoy the panoramic views of the region. Beverley is noted for its interest architecture, with examples ranging from the colonial period of the late 1800s to the futuristic geodesic dome.
  • 5 star stay! Our little family had the most lovely time here. It was just what we needed. We loved the fresh country air, and how dark and quiet it got at night - unlike in the city where it's always bright and noisy. The cottage was immaculately clean and there was everything you'd need for a very comfortable stay. The listing says you need to take your own linen, and you'll need to take all consumables you need - down to teabags and milk but that's totally fine. It's a very reasonably priced accommodation with great amenities so it shouldn't be too much trouble to take a few things from home. The Warden and her family are lovely, letting our little boy play with their dogs. The Warden is very knowledgeable on the area and farm's history and very generous with her time sharing her knowledge. We booked cottage B24 with the outside toilet, but think we'll book the other one just for convenience of toileting during the night next time. We'll keep an eye on the calendar and would absolutely love to come back when the museum and main house are open for viewing. I think they'd be really interesting. The donkey, pony and two horses only metres from the front door were a massive hit with our little boy! Thank you for letting him give them a little hay. It was the highlight of the weekend for him! The playground is huge and awesome for little kids. The driving trail was interesting and the cottage was very well stocked with information about the area including places to eat and things to do/see. Thank you for having us and we hope to see you again!

  • We stayed here for a long weekend. This cottage was terrific and was a way better quality than I was expecting. It was super comfortable, furnished nicely and had lots of information on what to do both on the farm and in the Avon Valley. It has air conditioning but it was not needed for us as the fans did a great job. The farm is a great place for families as there is a playground and 2x donkeys and 2x horses nearby that are friendly. The caretakers of the farm were also very friendly and introduced themselves with their cute little dogs. We would happily stay here again!

  • Steve has done a fantastic job renovating the house, and I slept in a very comfortable bed in a beautiful room and had use of a stylish bathroom. The location is very quiet. Steve had thoughtfully lit the fire in the lounge on a chilly day. He has great conversation and stories to tell.

In 2014 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase an elegant period home that is now known as White Lotus Retreat. In the same way a book finds you, this property certainly found me and it has been an honour to restore her to her original granduer. Having once graced the pages of a respected home and garden magazine, I am proud to be sharing this space with you, where you can relax and unwind. A venue for your memorable stay or event.
White Lotus Retreat is located on an acre of formal gardens in a quiet street on the outskirts of the quaint and quintessentially Australian town of Beverley. The homestead has three spacious bedrooms, a modern kitchen/dining area, a traditional lounge fitted with an open fireplace and mirror television, a studio/office space with front and side verandah’s.
  • Lovely house and communication and access was easy! Suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ryan!

    Beren2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • My family & I recently stayed at The White Lotus Retreat to celebrate our mother’s 90th Birthday. She grew up and lived in Beverley until the age of 12. Ryan’s home is a beautifully appointed, graceful manor. The bedrooms are huge; the beds comfy with beautifully clean, crisp linen and fluffy towels. We loved sitting on the verandah in the afternoon and in the evening gathering in the lounge listening to the awesome vinyl collection of music. Ryan’s attention to detail, little thoughtful touches and prompt communication made our stay so memorable. Thank you again Ryan for a lovely weekend.

    Ros2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's house is a wonderful home with everything needed, plenty of Amenities , wonderful Air Con and a great shower.

    Victor2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We all absolutely loved our stay at Ryan’s beautiful Beverley home. We knew it would be stylish but this was gorgeous. Big bedrooms and many breakout areas. Only a nice ten minute walk from town. Not cheap, but well worth it. We won’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

    Sharon2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • A character home full of old world delights. A lovely stay in a well appointed period property that lends your awareness to a night sky of endless stars. The home is warm with endless charm that gently wraps itself around you and pulls you into place of peacefulness. An enjoyable stay.

    Bec2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re expecting some tranquility and a family friendly space, this is it. Also recommended for a couple getaway from it all. Very peaceful and quiet. The house and yard itself are quite unique, it’s an overall positive experience. Many interesting features adapted for a comfortable and inviting stay. We loved it!

    Kevin2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house and our children loved exploring the large garden. It was wonderfully quiet (just what we were hoping for) and very comfortable. The renovation Ryan has done is really lovely, and we appreciated the beautiful architecture, polished floorboards, interesting furniture and modern conveniences.

    Harriet2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a trip out of Perth where the kids can play and you can relax in a beautiful house, this is the place. The house is very well equipped for cooking and has a very homely feel to the place.
