  • The cottage was absolutely perfect! It has everything you could need, including cooking tools and a wood burning stove that keeps things nice and toasty in the winter. Kate and Richard were the most gracious hosts, very responsive and attentive to guests' needs. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay again!

  • Great location in the country of Vermont! Beautiful view of sunset over the Adirondacks. Great space for 2 or 4 people. We stayed longer term over a month and were more than comfortable. Equipped kitchen, comfortable bed/bath, and cozy with a fireplace and wood provided. Kate and Richard were available with ideas for the local area and accommodating to us as their guests. Would stay again without a doubt!

Our son loved the foosball table and played his Dad every night. We even went skiing in Lake Placid from here which was a beautiful drive as well. A wonderful experience, thank you Brian and Naomi!

  • Brian and Naomi's place was great. We stayed as a group of friends over the weekend for a Middlebury winter graduation and it was perfect. Brian & Naomi were super easy to communicate with, provided details for a seamless checkin and left great touches like the delicious pumpkin bread and chocolate milk. The apartment itself is clean, has lots of light in the living room and offered plenty of space for the three of us. We would definitely stay here again!

  • The Eagle's Nest is by far one of the best AirBnbs my husband and I have stayed at. The space is clean, well decorated, and the hosts have provided thoughtful touches all around. The apartment has a great view of the Adirondacks, which is beautiful for any season. We were pleasantly surprised to see our car shovelled out after a snowstorm. Another bonus- Their pumpkin bread is delicious! We hope to visit again.

  • We had a great stay and Rick was a wonderful host. Went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. I would recommend his beautiful home to all.

  • Rick is an excellent host. The house is well-stocked, clean and comfortable. Our Midd students kept us very busy during Family Weekend, so we didn't get to enjoy the lake as much as we had hoped. Next time!

  • Great vacation home, awesome view, wonderful sunsets. It was very peaceful and quiet.

    Diane2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Rick's place, well in advance, so our family would have a decent place to stay when our daughter graduated from nearby Middlebury College over Memorial Day weekend. That it had space enough for my parents, my sister and her husband, my son, and my wife and I -- and our two old collies! -- was its immediate selling point. Honestly, it probably would have been enough to make it well worthwhile. What we found, though, was an up to date and well-appointed camp with breathtaking views of Lake Champlain. My dogs just lay on the upstairs porch watching the water and relishing a cool breeze much of the weekend. We all did the same to the degree we could. I can't recommend this place enough. Rick was on top of everything and his place is simply wonderful. I'd move in if I could. One note on behalf of a friendly neighbor: Please make sure you park in Rick's space right in front of the place. It holds a handful of cars, which really ought to suffice. And though the parking area is pretty dang obvious, some guests apparently miss the mark somehow. Don't let that be you, future guests. It's no help to Rick or any of us to make neighbors unhappy.

She provides the best possible experience a renter could ask for. As far as the house it is beautiful and the view is outstanding. I have stayed twice now at it and would be there right now if I could be. I brought my dog with me and she was very accommodating for him. He loved the house and the lake probably just as much if not more than me. The house is built with only the finest materials. And there is no bad view from inside or out. I really appreciate everything Barb has done for me while I stayed there. And would recommend it to anyone that wants a peaceful getaway. You will not be disappointed in any way shape or form. I've rented through Homeaway and VRBO a number of times and this was by far the nicest home we've ever stayed in. From the granite countertops, to the wood floors, to the large windows and huge jacuzzi tub, it was a dream come true for us. A lot of rentals are just that--rentals. This is a home. Thank you Barbara, for a great long weekend at your lovely cabin. The weather was ideal. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We both enjoyed the big jacuzzi tub. We sat on the dock and fished and we fell in love with Vermont. The view is amazing and very tranquil. Visiting the local town of Middlebury and the University grounds was very nice also. This home was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better week of vacation. We mainly came to the home for the fishing on Lake Champlain. The fishing was amazing. The home was more than anyone could ask for. The views of the lake were fabulous and the home was equipt with pretty much anything you would ever need. It was very hard to leave. This was the perfect getaway (quiet, peaceful, away from it all). I cannot wait to come back and stay in this home again. My wife, 1-year-old and I spent a week in this beautiful place at the end of January. The setting is magnificent, with breathtaking views of lake Champlain and beautiful rural Vermont landscapes. Nearby are local stores and restaurants, and a bit farther away Middlebury is easily accessible. The house itself is beautifully designed and equipped with its wood floors, cathedral ceilings, spacious kitchen, large windows that give on the lake, gas stove to keep things cozy in the winter, jacuzzi, and ping pong/ pool table/ dart board/ games downstairs. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground when we were here, but the house was nice and warm. We walked out onto the lake where people were ice fishing, and went sledding with the baby. The hosts were very welcoming- they baby proofed the electrical outlets for us, left some local specialities for us to try, and gave us lots of pointers. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a house on lake Champlain! Rating: 5 STARS! Leonard Calo New Haven, CT Review Submitted January 31, 2011 Recommended for: Age 55+ , Adventure Seekers , Tourists without a Car , Families with Young Children , Romantic Getaway GREAT ESCAPE! - 5 STARS! We finally had a chance to truly relax in a remarkably beautiful setting. Our charming hosts who live just down the driveway even provided a small basket of Vermont goodies for us when we arrived. Although 6 can indeed fit here, it was perfect for just 2 of us!. There is a bed for 2 in the basement and a bed for 2 upstairs with a magnificent view of the lake. The sleeping loft is in the upstairs bedroom and could sleep two more. You can lie in bed and see the stars through the skylight! The kitchen is very well equipped - a true plus as I do a fair bit of cooking. The lake is steps away and the kayaks and paddle boat were fun to use. The house is light and airy and beautifully maintained. This was my first experience renting a vacation home and I was very impressed with how smoothly everything went. The town of Vergennes is close by and has a great diner called Three Squares. Breakfast is fabulous- supper fresh eggs and delicious bacon! The Maritime Museum, which I thought had great promise....was a disappointing bore....hopefully they will get better in time. Verizon cell reception was very dicey, but the owners tell us that ATT works better. We found we could plug our IPOD into the television and we were able to play all of our own tunes. I recommend this property highly and without reservation. I plan to visit again next year! Rating: 5 STARS! David - Review Submitted October 7, 2010 Date of Stay August 7, 2010 Thank you! We had a wonderful time. Your lovely house was the perfect getaway for us, as would be for so many people. While we enjoyed a week of lounging, lazing, kayaking and cooking in, others could easily enjoy so many other activities, like hiking, swimming, and enjoying the many activities that Middlebury has to offer. The house is gorgeous. The main bedroom, with its breathtaking views and large windows, was like sleeping in a landscape painting. And the master bathroom, with its jacuzzi tub that overlooked the lake, just added to our relaxation. Finally, your own accommodations never failed to make us feel more welcome. Whether it was sharing songs with us on your porch or coming by to make sure that the outlets had safety plugs to ensure that our 1-year old was unharmed, we felt like we were well taken care of. Thank you again for a lovely vacation. It was exactly what we needed. PERFECT GETAWAY! - 5 STARS! My wife and I stayed here over Christmas together with another group of friends. It was one of the best trips we've had. The host Barbara was very helpful and the house was newly built, renovated and everything was perfect! On our way to the house, my car got stuck in the snow and couldn't move up one of the hills in VT. I called Barbara and Barbara immediately offered to help me find an alternate path. Within a few minutes, she got back to me and helped me find my way there. Upon arrival, the house was very clean and well-prepared for our arrival. Dishes were dry, the floor was clean, and everything else was in perfect order. Barbara gave us a tour around the house and introduced us to all the games and activities available. She also gave us a very good introduction to the nearby ski resorts and cities, where we could go for ice fishing etc. The wireless internet signal was also a little weak but Barbara helped to realign the wireless router such that I could get internet access on both floors of the house. The next day, Barbara referred me to a few nearby mechanics so I could get snow tires. When I arrived there they ran out of snow tires and Barbara immediately helped me call up several other stores nearby and when I arrived, I realized that Barbara and even asked them for a special discount on my behalf! We had a really good time. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is newly built, so everything is in perfect working order. The jacuzzi on the second floor is superb. But the best thing about this house is its view. Situated by Lake Champlain, it has an amazing view of the lake and the Adirondack Mountains on the other side. We arrived late at night and so we couldn't see the lake, but when we woke up the next morning, all four of us went "WOAHHHHHHH". It's truly insane. We only wished that we went in the summer, for we could not go out boating. Perfect place for a getaway and worth every penny. Rating: 5 STARS! • I can't think of a single thing that could be improved. Barbara thought of everything- from kitchen utensils to board games, the house is stocked with everything you could possible imagine needing. It was sparkling clean. The views are beautiful. It was a perfect romantic get-away! Barbara met us at the door to give a very thorough tour as we arrived. She's friendly and attentive; I immediately felt like I was in good hands. She even gave us a quick billiards lesson! 😆 Can't recommend this place highly enough.

  • My husband and I highly recommend Barbara’s place for your Lake Champlain getaway. The home is beautiful and impeccably clean. The views are magnificent. Barb’s local tips cover all of the must see and do while in Vermont. When not out and about, you can enjoy warmth by the wood burning stove or a table game down in the basement game room. Barb takes pride in her home and makes you feel like a friend upon arrival.

Located in central Vermont, our honeymoon cottage is the ideal private getaway, adjacent to in-ground pool (pool available in Vermont season: late June, July- August) ) when you stay with us. You might just be lucky enough to wake up with the alpacas munching outside your window or hear the roosters crowing nearby! Please plan to slip off your shoes at the door.
The cottage can be the perfect technology fast . Getaway from it all together. Private drive and entrance. It is also roomy enough to bring a couple kids and bags if you so desire, or have us install cot ...
We are in a rural community, down a dirt road but very close to Rt 22A with excellent central location to explore all of Vermont. we are a small family (working) farm which raises beef and alpacas. the nearest neighbor is apex . half mile
  • We had a great time staying with you. Lucy loved all the animals- feeding the baby alpacas, exploring the farm & cannonballs in the pool. The farm is beautiful bc of all the love and hard work- that is apparent. I know we will be back again! Thank you Jenny, Les, Bill & all the animals! Your friends. Lucy, Heather & Marco

  • The cabin was lovely, and Les and Jenny were both kind, welcoming hosts. They generously provided muffins and yogurt for breakfast, and shared their smores with us in the evening. The property is lovely, and we were delighted to meet the animals and tour the space.

  • The cottage at the alpaca farm was a lovely place to have a weekend getaway and enjoy the Vermont fall. My fiancé and I spent three nights at the cottage, and found that it provided us with the perfect mix of privacy and interaction with both Les and Jenny, and the alpacas. The cottage is quaint and wonderfully furnished, and kept cozy with a pellet stove and space heater. Our hosts graciously welcomed us onto their farm, allowed us to interact with the farm critters, and offered us fresh apples and baked goods. Overall, this was an excellent spot to spend a Vermont weekend and we look forward to coming back soon!

  • Les is a lovely gentleman and extremely hospitable.

    Abigail2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Les and Jenny are great hosts—thoughtful, accommodating and upbeat. They let us tag along to visit their cows and gave us some insight into farm life. This is a great place to get away and relax.

  • We stayed at Les’s farm for three nights. It was a wonderful trip thanks to Les and his family. The accommodations were beautiful, the sights, sounds, and country smells of the farm were unforgettable, and Les and his family were kind and helpful in getting to know the Middlebury area. The pool house on the farm is a scenic cottage in an area with lots to see and eat;) . The pool is fantastic, the animals always provide something to look at, and the farm provides opportunities for barbecue, bonfire, or just a beautiful walk. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

    Marien2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great pool house set away from the main house with Llamas out the window

    Christian2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the comfort and coziness of our Champlain Valley Alpaca's poolhouse that we stayed in. We had a blast hanging out with the cows, chickens and alpacas. Everything in VT was gorgeous - Les and Jennie were extremely kind and welcoming! Couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday weekend. We will be back soon! :)

  • We enjoyed a long weekend on Lake Champlain at this cabin. The inside is nicely redone, with plenty of options for sleeping quarters. We were surprised by how many this place could sleep! We were only two, so didn't even use the upstairs. Beautiful view! Nice spot on the lake. We traveled north over the bridge to Vermont and enjoyed the short ferry ride back across a bit south which was nice. We didn't realize how large Lake Champlain really is. We cooked in, so can't help with restaurants, but everything worked well in the cabin. The weather shifted through out stay so we were able to try out the AC and the wall heaters, which helped keep the chill off. Nice to have one in the bathroom!! I'm considering finding a few of these for my home! We appreciated John's prompt communication with us! Would stay here again if in the area!

    Jeffrey2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • John's house is a great find along Lake Champlain. Sitting out on the deck or out by the fire pit offers an excellent view of the lake and a place to wind down and relax. The interior of the house is cozy well organized. Had everything we needed from cook ware to shower items. John is very responsive when messaged and did whatever he could to accommodate us and make our stay more comfortable.

    Ashley2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We used johns place for a fishing trip. Great spot on the lake! Accommodations were great, boat slip was perfect. We will be back.

  • We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at John's home. The space is well laid out, comfy and spotless. The view from the deck is spectacular and it is a terrific place to enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails. John is a great host and ensures that you have everything you need. We hope to return next summer. Thanks for sharing your "little piece of heaven"!

    Kathy2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is wonderful! Its clean, modern, comfortable, close to tourist attractions, has a beautiful view, use of boats to get out on Lake Champlain, and nice neighbors. John was very helpful and quick to respond to all communications. Thank you for a great visit!

    Christine2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing stay at John's cozy lakeside home. It was a great size for us and our two adult sons. We enjoyed the beautiful view off the porch looking at the lake both morning and evening. Seeing the early morning heron was a real treat! The kitchen and living areas are comfortable and attractive. We would love to visit again.

The private room and bath were perfect for crashing after a long day of hiking. I'd like to return given its proximity to VT and ADK High Peaks.

  • John's place is a great Airbnb experience! This listing is for a room in the house, not a separate cabin, but the room has its own bathroom, so there is complete privacy. There is a hot tub, sauna, and canoes available for guests. John is an excellent host, always ready to help and happy to talk about the area, attractions, history, and other topics.

  • This was the best airBnB stay we’ve ever had! The location is amazing - the lake front is beautiful, well-kept, and the amenities are beyond expectations (kayak, canoe, hot tub, fishing, etc). John is an awesome host who offers great tips and is hospitable while giving visitors ultimate privacy during their stay. This is the best lake house experience we’ve ever had and we are absolutely coming back!

  • Imagine waking up to the smell of perking coffee only to walk out to see a breathtaking sunrise. My wife and I are photographers so the view from the dining area inspired us. I fired up my drones more on these few days than on most trips. We found what makes this location 5-Stars,... John. Our host is a plethora of information and interesting conversations. We look forward to another visit and some more kayaking

One private bedroom in a cozy, old, family farmhouse in rural Vermont. The community is quiet and rural, but driving distance to many eateries, hikes, and local ski mountains. The private room is in our family home with my husband, daughter, friendly pup, and I! The house is right on our dairy farm which you are welcome to walk around and explore.
Homey, cozy private room with a quirky feel and shared bathroom with stand up shower
Quiet, rural, and very safe neighborhood in a very agriculture-based area
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Suzy’s farm. Her family was warm and welcoming and the accommodations were perfect and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing, idyllic small town location. At one point, we pulled over to the side of our road from our way back to Suzy’s after being in town just to look at the stars, which were more vibrant than I’d ever seen before.

    Francesca2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I don’t think I can overstate our experience. From accommodations to the beauty of the farm, this stay was nothing short of incredible!

  • A good place for those who are tired of living in the city and want to relax in nature! Fresh air and hiking will all make your mood better. A very friendly Dog who will always be happy to play with you. If I can, I will gladly return. Very friendly family who works a lot. Good luck to everyone!

  • Suzy and her husband rob are kind and welcoming people who live on a lovely farm (cows and pigs I believe). Suzy is very responsive and accommodating, she took care of me and my late arrival time with no problem at all! She provided a clean, comfy, relaxing atmosphere to lay my head at night and that’s exactly what I was looking for! I would 100%!stay here again next time I’m in the area.

  • Suzy and her family welcomed us warmly to their home. It’s a pretty farmhouse surrounded by rural area, as it is said in the description. I was impressed by the transformation of a normal farmhouse in such a cosy home. The room was nice, everything was clean. We could use the kitchen and all their equipment. I can definitely recommend Suzy’s place and I would love to come back! Thanks again Suzy, for your hospitality and the apple puree, it tastes amazing :)

  • We stayed for five nights and loved the time at the farm and around. It was perfect for our get away. The house is charming with character. We cooked and ate in most days. Suzy and her family were very helpful and accommodating. There was much to explore around. The fresh milk was a big bonus.

This cozy, private one-bedroom two-level Victorian carriage house is down the street from the Middlebury Inn. A short walk downtown Middlebury in one direction or fields and woods in the other, this is a comfortable and charming retreat in a great location.
The carriage house is a separate building adjacent to our private home. The first level includes a bathroom with a shower, and an eating area with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and cute drop-leaf table. Upstairs is a large open area with a comfortable queen-size bed and a living area with a couch, chairs, cable tv and desk. This space has is ideal for two people. For additional guests, we can provide an air mattress in the same large room as the bed. (Please note that we do not automatically set up the air mattress for bookings for two guests. If you wish to request it, please message us. We charge an additional $20/day for bookings that use the air mattress.) Note: There have been a few minor changes to the furnishings since these photos were taken.
The property is in a fantastic location. It is less than a quarter mile to the grocery store, natural foods co-op, laundry mat, and Bagel Shop. It's only a quarter mile more into downtown Middlebury, which has lovely shops, restaurants and bars. Keep walking and you'll arrive at Middlebury College, which is one mile from our house. Our house is also a quarter of a mile from two different trail heads of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), an 18 mile walking path around our town. You can easily take a 3 mile hike directly from your door and enjoy the woods and views from Chipman Hill.

  • My husband and I loved staying here for a few days. The space has real charm - kind of a funky arrangement with the bathroom & kitchen-like facilities downstairs, but very cozy and comfortable. Caitlin & Andy are great, laid-back hosts & there was lots of good local information provided. We enjoyed our stay in Middlebury and would recommend a stop at the excellent Art Museum at the College. It's free!

  • This place was wonderful! I stayed in the dead of winter when the temps dipped below freezing. The space was warm and the shower was hot. And the bed was so very comfortable. The hosts also provided a variety of Keurig coffee and teas, cream in the fridge, plates and utensils, etc. There is even an induction stove top (that I didn't use). And the location in Middlebury was perfect. I appreciated my host coming out to greet me and offer local restaurant tips, etc. She was so friendly. Perfect stay.

Located at the junction of the Green Mountains and the Champlain Valley, this quiet space sits on 70 forested acres. A quick drive to Brandon, Middlebury College, Lake Dunmore, and the Green Mountain National Forest, this is the perfect home base. Enjoy nature in this secluded space and discover what Addison County has to offer from an easy to access location. Explore nearby lakes and plenty of trails, and events and culture are just down the road.
Spring and summer in Vermont are truly glorious. The cabin was built as a hunting camp by a logging firm that harvested timber here. We have built our home on the property and updated the cabin with plenty of amenities. The cabin is a nice balance of rustic, cozy, and comfortable, and we take pride in the beauty of this place.
Plenty to do nearby! Rutland and Middlebury Farmers' Markets, Wood's Garden Market, Champlain and Douglas Orchards, Falls of Lana, Silver Lake, Branbury State Park, Goshen Dam, shops and restaurants in Middlebury and Brandon, Rutland's Paramount Theater, Cattails Restaurant, Texas Falls, Route 100 Scenic Highway, Mount Independence Historic Site and Fort Ticonderoga, rivers and mountains galore! Still a working forest, the property is home to a plethora of wildlife, hosting two beaver dams and a designated deer wintering area. There are some trails here on the property, and plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. Enjoy colorful sunsets as herons, ducks, and geese fly in for the evening, or spend the evening out in the cultural centers of Brandon or Middlebury. Bring, rent or borrow a boat and spend the day at nearby Lake Dunmore, Fern Lake, or Sugar Hill Reservoir; make the stunning 1 hour drive up to Burlington for the day for cool shops and great restaurants; or pick fresh Vermont fruits and berries with views of Lake Champlain. The Moosalamoo Recreation area is right in our backyard. There is so much to do around here, you may not want to leave!
  • This was the perfect cabin for my trip! I absolutely loved it, so much so that I mostly laid in bed and enjoyed the fireplace! Thanks Catie and Mark for the eggs and maple syrup!

    Michele2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time at the cabin! Mark and Catie are fantastic hosts who gave us really great directions for finding them, which we did easily. The location is incredibly peaceful, and we loved seeing the chickens outside the cabin! The cabin is so cosy and sparkling clean, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen had all the facilities we needed to cook a lovely dinner. The fireplace made the cabin very warm and relaxing too. We really enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast, and the maple syrup left in the kitchen for us was delicious. I couldn’t rate our stay more highly - I would return in a heartbeat!

Beautiful clean kitchen, spotless bathroom, trendy and homey feeling. The bed was soooo comfortable. Super clean, super private and quiet. Best sleep we've had in a LONG time. They also provided us with a list of places to see and do nearby. Loved this place, will come back!

  • This place was exactly what we were looking for in a getaway in VT. Beautiful, clean, cozy, relaxing, and close enough to surrounding towns to go for a nice drive near Lake Champlain. The layout and the tall windows on the main floor allowed for great lighting. Definitely recommend if your looking for a relaxing spot that has everything you need!

  • Lovely place! Loraine was super nice and accommodating when we said we'd be getting in pretty late and the cute rustic barn attic was exactly what we'd hoped for. Enjoyed having coffee in the breakfast nook overlooking the farm. Will be back and stay longer next time!

Was pretty easy to get to Killington and camel's hump from the location. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Great rural location

    Richard2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • John and Rebecca's place is fairly remote -- great if you like the peace and a nice green view! They responded immediately to a couple of questions and updates I had, and John was only too keen to show me where everything was and make me feel at home. The room was smartly decorated as shown, and they have a lovely placid dog, Gracie, who I can't imagine bothering anybody :) I would happily recommend for anyone in the area with a car.

  • This place is awesome. With stunning views to thoughtful Hosts, everything is taken care here. I personally did not get to meet the host as I my time of arrival and departure but everything was set clear for me. The views from the Bedroom were Amazing.

    Scarlett2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed all summer, and it was a great place. John is really accommodating, and the house had a great view of farmlands and nature (sometimes a bit too much nature, but a few bugs are a fine trade for beautiful Vermont). I always had whatever I needed, and I highly recommend staying here!

This adorable rustic cabin sleeps 4, and has many extra amenities. Lake, pool, and community house with ping-pong, library, board games, and pool table. Kayak and canoe, and glorious hiking in the Green Mountain National Forest.
HOW TO AIRBNB: • Kindly read entire listing and the House Rules. • Complete your Airbnb profile (including photo). This cabin, one of nine in this small community retreat, is 100 yards from the lakefront with a private dock. The cabin has two bedrooms - 1 double bed and 2 twins. (The cabin will be entirely yours, the pool and lake areas are shared with the guests of the other cabins.) Full kitchen with stove/oven, coffee pot, toaster, and seating for 4, plus 2 armchairs. Kitchen has recently been updated with brand new "tiny house" fridge/freezer, butcher-block countertop, and new sink and faucet. Provided: tableware, pots and pans, and all the basic tools you'd need to make a great meal. Also coffee, creamer, sugar, some spices, olive oil, vinegar. We now have wi-fi and pretty good cell service! Our cabin is 3 season, UNHEATED. We close up in the fall and re-open in mid- May. Vermont weather in early spring/fall can be fickle. Meaning it's cold! We bring extra blankets! :-) During hot weather, there are 2 table fans provided for air circulation. This cabin has lake access to the 3-mile, beautiful Lake Dunmore. Nestled on the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest, down the road is the Branbury State Park. Copious hiking trails! Also, the cabin is just a few minutes from the lovely village of Brandon, the town of Middlebury, VT and a pleasant hour drive to Burlington, VT. Parking is right outside the front door - there is room for 1 car on the front lawn near the picnic table. Extra parking, for additional cars or if you have visitors drop by during the day, is just a few yards away. There is a clean convenient laundromat just down the road, at the north end of the lake. We are LGBTQ friendly. We do NOT discriminate against anyone- we welcome all races, ethnicities, gender identities, you name it. If you're kind, you can stay here.
The closest convenience stores: Country Store and Deli, 1457 Lake Dunmore Rd, Salisbury, VT 05769 Forest Dale Grocery and Deli, Furnace Rd, Forest Dale, VT 05745 There is also a Hannaford supermarket in downtown Brandon. A few good spots to eat: In Brandon: Cafe Provence- our favorite Mae’s Place- Main St. We like it. Sit outside. It is casual, and far from speedy, but it is friendly. And Brandon House of Pizza is good There's a restaurant and soft-serve place at the North end of the Lake that's decent, nothing fancy. That's the closest eatery to the cabin. They have more flavors of soft serve than I've ever seen. Closed after Labor Day. It's not Manhattan! :-) You can also venture down to Middlebury. 20 minute drive. My favorite place in the world. Restaurants in Middlebury: Rosie's Diner 2 Brothers Tavern Mr. Up's Otter Creek Brewing- great beer, and they have a pub/restaurant The Marbleworks - a conglomeration of stores, etc. Every place to eat in here is good, and it's a nice to walk around and see the waterfalls. Enjoy!!!
  • We have been coming to Laura’s cabin for years now and will keep coming back because it is such a perfect little spot. Charming and cozy, the cabin has everything you need, just a pretty and leafy walk down to the quiet lake. Great for a family vacation, this place is a true gem. We love Cabin #2!

    Jenny2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin, fun location in Vermont. Kids loved the pool, lake, play areas at Dunmore Acres.

    Sarah2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay! Very easy access to the lake, where they are all kinds of activities. But also easy access to great hiking or Middlebury or Brandon within a 20-minute drive or so. The cabin is comfortable and neighbors are very friendly. Would highly recommend, and would gladly stay again anytime!

    Adam2019-07-09T00:00:00Z

    Gina2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is maybe our fourth or fifth year staying at Laura’s cabin and we just adore it. Just a quick walk down a beautiful path to the lake, and the pool is just steps away from the cabin. It is such a charming place, we come back every year because it is so cozy and perfect.

  • My husband and I spent a delightful four nights at Abbott's place earlier this week. We used it as our base to ski and hike and enjoy the beautiful countryside. We appreciated how well provisioned his place was. Lovely towels, sheets, etc. We had everything we could want in a kitchen including a vitamix for my morning smoothies! Some food items that were very useful including coffee, tea and some left behind food items from other travellers (peanut butter, etc.). Great location close to many amenities and yet off the beaten path. Abbott very responsive to all of our little questions....Looking forward to next time when we will explore the river and additional hiking trails!

    Don2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful, clean apartment with great amenities and location. We truly enjoyed our stay. One word of caution to future travelers - the host will charge you for additional guests (our group grew from 3 to 4) and for sleeping in all the beds (our daughter took an afternoon nap in the third bed). These charges were billed to us after checkout.

Romantic getaway or a great space for a family gathering, reunion or weddings. All are welcome.

Our area is mostly family farms, wild forest, and amazing Adirondack views. We on on Rural Rt 22A. Our House is on the highway - easy to get to but, does have traffic during the day.
  • My family and I loved staying here and will definitely be back! It was worth every penny and I just feel like I found the one gem in a sea of stones when considering the alternatives. Cynthea was incredibly responsive and went over and above when we needed to extend our stay. Very clean and lovely place to stay.

  • Wonderful winter getaway for the whole family!

    LaNora2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Cynthea’s farmhouse. It’s beautiful and spacious with lots of books and cozy chairs and nice views of Snake Mountain. We really appreciated the kids’ toys and books. The beds were really comfortable and everything was very clean. It was very welcoming to come back to after a rainy and cold day out. We met the caretakers’ old dog briefly and she is very sweet and friendly. We’d definitely stay here again next time we need to be near Middlebury.

    Donna2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthea's home is bright and airy. It's the perfect retreat for families looking for a place to rest and relax in a comfortable, clean home. Because it is pet and kid-friendly you can rest easy knowing you won't break or disturb anything, yet it is clean, comfy and casual. Two families stayed together for a weekend while visiting a student at Middlebury college- it was a quick drive to the college and a nice break for my son to get off campus and stay in a homey environment. I would definitely stay at Cynthea's home in the future!

    Lisa2019-11-17T00:00:00Z

  • A great place to stay with a wonderful host!

    Mayher2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Middlebury Studio is cozy, so well located, and just perfect for weekend in Middlebury (this was my second stay). Wendy is a wonderful host. I am looking forward to returning!

    Matthew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place offers great value, comfort and location if you need a place to stay near downtown Middlebury and the college campus. Highly recommend this place for a single person or couple.

    David2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy provided us a great place very conveniently located near Middlebury College. Considering the scarcity of hotels near Middlebury College, this place is hidden gem for parents of and visitors to Middlebury. The sunny view from the window was beautiful. A bagel shop in downtown was in walking distance.

    Nobuhiko2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cozy, clean, homey space that is very convienently located close to town. It was excatly what I was hoping for, and the perfect place to stay after a long day of work and travel. I cannot say enough good things!

    Isa2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • A GREAT cozy, warm and welcoming place. Wendy is a top-notch host. It feels more like staying at a friend's house (without the shared rooms.

Cozy ranch style house with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Spectacular views for miles. Only 12 miles from Middlebury. Great skiing area, snow mobile trails, & hiking trails, as well as tasting trails (if you like microbrews) nearby. 5 miles from the Lake Champlain Bridge to NY. Queen sized bed.
This is a Queen bedroom with a shared bathroom. Guests have full use of the kitchen & living-room.
Nice tranquil area. Only minutes from Middlebury.
  • Fantastic oasis to escape the city. John and Rebecca were responsive about locations and really made you at home, sharing their food and room. The spot has panoramic views of mountains and sky, and perfect for leaf-peeping if you would also like to avoid more touristy areas like Burlington, Killington, or Stowe. Close to Champlain Orchards, and several good hikes.

  • Great inexpensive place to crash for a night. Easy parking, very clean, and a really nice bed. Super quiet, out in the country away from any lights.

    Scott2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is everything it says it is and so much more! John is very accommodating and informative about the whole Champlain Valley. His suggestions and tips came in very handy. Grace, the fabulous fur baby, was lovely, such a sweet girl! The space itself is warm and welcoming. I loved the peace and quiet and the amazing sunsets! Being in rural VT as wonderful! Both John and Becky are very quick to respond and help with whatever. Thank you John and Becky for a fabulous time in Vermont!

  • I had a great stay. Was ill for most of it so had minimal interaction with Rebecca and John, but they were very sweet and accommodating. The place is about 20 minutes from Middlebury, very much out in the country. They have a sweet dog. If you want to relax for a few days, I recommend staying here.

  • William’s place was what I expected. It was very relaxing and full of natural beauty!!

    Shannon2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it here. It was very relaxing and a great place to unplug. My kids enjoyed playing in the creek and waterfall. It was everything you could want in a rustic camp. Thanks again.

    Amber2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to detach from electronics and bond with friends and or family. We loved it.

    Lhachi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Bill & Harry’s place. Our family enjoyed the property so much, we knew we had to go back this year. It was honestly meant to be; we hadn’t planned too far in advance & were afraid it would be booked up. We lucked out, and had another restful, relaxing & grounding family vacation! This is the perfect place to disconnect from the chaos of your usual weekly hustle, and show your kids that there is WAY more fun to be had in nature vs their fixation with daily electronics and the online world.

    Holly2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a wonderful experience. The brook and waterfall are beautiful and many great sights to see nearby. I hope to head back that way soon since there’s just too much to see and do for one trip! I highly recommend heading a short distance walking across the Lake Champlain Bridge into VT, the view from the top was stunning.

    Tiffiny2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised!!! A nice rustic cabin with an amazing brook to both start and end your day. Loved starting the day on the deck drinking my cup of coffee listening to it and falling asleep hearing it out the bedroom window. There is a great deal to do within an hour radius and recommend researching areas of interest before going. Highly recommend the glass blowing experience with Annie in Mineville. Restaurant-Olive Ti Pi for good Italian: apps, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and salads Points of Interest-Fort Ticonderoga, Fort Williams for the ghost tour, and Gunnison Orchards: nice gift shop with amazing homemade baked goods

Looking for a home away from home on your travels in the Champlain Valley? Our home, with the private guest suite and deck, is situated perfectly for your Vermont holiday.
Our quiet home is off a country road, 3 miles from Middlebury College and this classic New England village. Our home has a newly renovated 2nd floor guest suite (please note there are stairs to the entrance), complete with a large deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening local brew. The suite has 1 bedroom with a queen bed, a private master bathroom, and a spacious sitting room, complete with a smart TV, dining/work table, 2 pull-out twin sofa beds and a small kitchenette where you can fix coffee, enjoy some homemade granola and store your Heady Topper. (Please note the kitchenette is not meant for cooking). The suite is accessed by an outdoor staircase, adjacent to our garage.
Our house is at the end of a private lane, with stunning views over an old apple orchard and farmland. We love it because of the privacy and rural setting, yet are minutes from a vibrant town.
  • We enjoyed our stay. Very clean cosy place close from Middlebury College. Bruce and Tracy were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome. We would stay there again.

    Tsuyoshi2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Spot is perfect! I highly recommand Tracy’s place. We’ll come back for sure:)

    Marie-Eve2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for a ski race nearby and only stayed one night, but were ever so happy to have found Tracy's! Tracy was always quick to respond to any question I had. The whole apartment was extremely clean, very private and quiet, so comfortable , well appointed with high end furniture, linens ,bath towels and toiletries, essentials like complimentary water bottles, a couple of beers in the fridge, milk, half and half, granola etc.. If we are back in Middlebury next year, we would definitely stay here again! Thanks for a great stay Tracy!

    Lisa2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A terrific spot just minutes from MIDD. I had a comfortable stay in a place that felt like home but I was a guest. Beautiful views, excellent extras, thoughtful space.

    Caroline2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, everything is more than perfect. Would definitely stay again on another skiing trip.

    Christian2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is extra special. The space is lovely, very clean, extremely comfortable and filled with warm homey touches. We were able to get in easily from the private entrance into the suite and immediately felt at home. The location is convenient and the hosts provided great information about the many activities (hiking, restaurants, local entertainment) so that we were able to make the most of our quick visit to the area. It is a 5 minute ride to Middlebury College where we saw a hockey game in their new arena. We hiked the TAM (Trail around Middlebury) directly from the house and went to a great pub/restaurant for dinner suggested by the hosts. In addition to many personal touches, the host had the bar nook well stocked; even homemade granola bars that my son loved. You will never regret choosing Tracy's place to stay and your expectations will be surpassed with all the thoughtful details.

Homey, cozy room in the upstairs of our 1700's farmhouse with a quirky family touch, shared bathroom with stand up shower
Our neighborhood is quiet and rural with a very agriculture-based feel.
  • A lovely place to stay! Suzy and Rob were wonderful, kind hosts, and we loved meeting Zee. We were even able to buy some (very affordably-priced) beef from The Pork Shop. We’d definitely stay again!

    Denise2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy’s place was great, she was very welcoming and the room was great! I loved staying on the farm

    Maddie2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky, warm and cozy farm house stay. Highly recommended and great value. Suzy and Rob are wonderful hosts and fine people. And if you like dogs, you’ll love Zee. Memorable stay.

    Michael2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • 2nd stay here, same as the first. Its a working Dairy farm so it’s exactly as expected. Cool farm house with an at home feeling. The hosts are busy working but make plenty of time to be available if needed. Location is awesome, the view is unreal and the local store is super close and has everything you need. A+++ room was clean and comfy. Ps, if you throw the tennis ball for the farm dog Zee, he will retrieve all day long. Your arm will give up before Zee does.

    Joe2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great rural farmhouse to stay at. Quiet with beautiful views all around. Suzy was a good host with a nice family. Would stay again.

    Nathan2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • After reading reviews of visitors to Bob and Suzy's home I was not surprised with my stay. It's a working farm on acres and acres of farmland. If that doesn't appeal to you go someplace else. If it does, you will be greeted by friends you've never met before. Your room will be clean and you'll sleep well in a comfortable bed. While dreaming, put the lives of the people who lived in that area of the house since before the United States existed.

    Stuart2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy was very friendly, the place had her unique touches! Happy to go back when we are in the area!

    Bernadette2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I travel quite a bit and have stayed at plenty of Airbnb properties and this was one of the best experiences we have had. First, this is a farm. It's not glamorous but the bed is comfortable and the private room and shared bath were very clean. We had use of their kitchen and deck and enjoyed visiting the calves and meeting some of the friendly staff. Coffee was available and we even got to add a little fresh milk to our coffee! (I drink my coffee black but just had to try it with the fresh milk - it was great!) What made this experience so wonderful for us was the hospitality and welcome we received from both Suzy and Rob. Our second morning the four of us chatted in their kitchen over coffee and it honestly felt like we were visiting with old friends. We might even try to come back in the next week or two and bring kayaks so we can check out more of the area. This is a great Airbnb experience and I highly recommend staying here.

  • The perfect place to stay if visiting Middlebury College. Peter and Mary's is clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Highly recommend.

    Susan2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a little gem. I was there for a visit with my son in Bridport. The location was great... close to Middlebury (for activities) and Bridport (my sons farm). The little touches and friendly hospitality was spot on. Great place for the price! Will certainly be back.

    Michelle2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here with our two little ones and it was great. The space is in a separate part of the house with its own entrance so it’s quite private. It’s clean, well equipped (coffee machine, fridge, etc.) and we particularly liked local items provided, a real treat! Peter was great to communicate with prior to arrival and nice to chat with while there. We would come again!

  • You can expect a warm welcome, kind and friendly hosts and a great setting.

    Nassim2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! This was one of my best Airbnb experiences (and I’ve stayed at 20+ locations). Everything was simply lovely. It’s really like having your own place. I was very appreciative of the snacks and coffee Peter provided. The view from the back patio is absolutely stunning. Very comfortable bed. Wonderful experience!

    Katherine2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit at Peter and Mary's. The first time we came for the bicycling. The second was for more bicycling and the warm hospitality of our hosts. Our room was so comfortable, the back deck inviting, and the snacks! My husband and I have stayed at many Airbnbs and this is one of the best!

    Candace2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place that is not to be missed! The room itself is spacious, as is the adjoining bathroom. The view out the back of the house looks out over farm fields, and mountains, and the sunsets are breathtaking. Check-in is very easy. A variety of snacks and breakfast items are provided in the small fridge. I will definitely be returning here again!

    Susan2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are doing anything around this area. I highly recommend you stay at this place. You get a very private room with an absolutely fantastic bathroom. You also are free to hang on the deck and wonder the place. A little hint. There is very little light pollution and the night sky is wonderful. The host provided some breakfast items (granola, yogurt, cheese, crackers, juice and milk). Plenty of coffee and tea. the room was very clean and they even had some board games you could play. This is one of the best Airbnb's I stayed at. The family was also very friendly. Again if you are doing anything in Vermont you should stay here!
