The property is very well located in the village, shops, airport shuttle and rental feet in accessible vehicles. Besides the terrace overlooking the lagoon! The accommodation is very clean. Vincent is a welcoming host and lots of good advice on his island. We are delighted with our stay there and we highly recommend it !!

The walls have holes, asbestos roofs in poor condition handing from the ceiling, not to mention an extreme lack of privacy the entry is straight pas Vincent office, then his lounge room, complete with his son watching television. Vincent's house completely blocks from he waterfont views, and the waterfront terrace in the photos is also straight in front of his loung room offering absolutely no privacy.

The AC worked perfectly and the wifi was very fast,which is very rare in French Polynesia. Having a fridge,a kettle and microwave was very useful! The best part of it was the beautiful bedroom view to the bluest lagoon water.The best beach of Bora Bora is your front porch! It happens to be a great sunset spot too! No need for scooter or car rental as restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Jessica went out of her way to make us feel at home and was very helpful to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. Great week stay at Jessica, Teiva and their little family (2 beautiful children and three friendly dogs :)) The location is tops on the stunning (and only) Matira Beach, but also with snacks and restaurant next door and even a well-stocked supermarket and very convenient! The room / studio is located on the ground floor of the house, the bed is very comfortable, you have direct access to the garden and the beach, there is a fridge and in addition they will add a kitchenette! The room itself has a good sized beer fridge, A/C, towels, and bathroom stuff, coffee, dishes, and everything else you could need, with out a stove in the room. Although we never needed it, you are able to use their stove upstairs to cook. The place is RIGHT on the beach/water, with a good selection of places to eat a short walk away. Great snorkelling right out the door, along with the sunset. Jessica goes to town each day, so if you need a ride to the store/town, you can get a ride one way and hitch hike back if you want to spend the day walking around. We had an amazing time staying with them, and would come back again anytime.

He knows everybody and everything one could know about the island. He offered to help with any adventures i wanted to have on Bora. Fresh mangos and coconuts are in abundance in the front yard. The house was clean, cute, and felt like a home away from home. Located in a neighborhood safe enough to leave doors open day and night. Vaitape is a short walk or bike ride away. Haunui let me borrow his bike throughout my stay so I didnt need to rent one. Nearby Vaitape offers many cafes, restaurants, and endless shopping. I truly cannot wait to get back to this rental.

The fridge is really cool, as was the welcome beer we could enjoy on the sofa on the terrace, which makes it suitable to have breakfast outside. The moskitos are unlikely to fly upstairs, where one of the two double beds for sleeping are. Haunui arranged pickup at the pier and drop off at the subsequent hotel. He further was very helpful with giving advices about the island and helped to arrange things. He is well connected with other islanders.

Unfortunately, our stay with Daniel leaves a less memorable souvenir. We were welcomed on arrival and overall housing matched the description. To underline; shuttles return included in the room rate and leis and seashells on arrival and departure. Negatives: the wifi connection does not seem powerful enough to reach the lodge (annex separate from the main house) and the end of life car offered for rent by Daniel at a high price for what it is (PSC 5 ' 000.- finally reduced to PSC 3000.- for 4 hours). Furthermore, our host Daniel left a mixed impression, surprising us by his words and taking us to part with free and frivolous remarks. Moreover, his passion to lead us on an activity that provides against remuneration seemed equally exaggerated his disappointment when we refused. We seemed to have to justify our choices and desires at any time, which, on vacation, is not really nice. However, we appreciate that Daniel bothered to apologize at the end of our stay after we told him of the situation.

Loana picked me up from the dock at Viatape and greeted me with a nice, homemade lei that I was pleasantly surprised with. From that moment the stay just got better and better. They both had any and all information I needed for any tours, or excursions Bora Bora has to offer which was very helpful, and really did save me some time and money in the long run. If I needed anything, either one of them was there to accommodate me very easily. I had the back house to stay in so it felt very safe, private, and so much like a home away from home. VERY clean, and plenty of amenities if needed. Pots, pans, iron, and all those comforts of his me. I was very happy with my stay and would HIGHLY recommend anyone considering going to Bora Bora, to reserve your stay with them. You will be happy you did!!!! An ash 5 star stay!!!!

The Black Pearl is an amazing place to stay in Bora Bora. I highly recommend it if you don't want to do the resort thing on your trip. Being at this privately owned bungalow allows you to cook your own meals, swim in your lagoon with more privacy and just not get caught up in all the expenses you would incur at the resorts. The Black Pearl has been renovated and upgraded to provided a more luxury experience on your stay. We were able to view a few of the other private bungalows and this far surpasses them all. You can live close to the locals, breath the Bora Bora air, eat the freshest mangos ever and plan your days from sunrise to sunset... just as you want it. The Black Pearl bungalow is extremely wel equipped (kitchen, bathroom, plenty towels, music, tv, canoes, snorkel equipment, books, ...). It has a great deck (covered what is good when you visit Polynesia during rain season), a sun deck ... It all comes with a great view on the motu's and the airport motu (not disturbing at all). You really can enjoy the boats, water scooters and pirogues passing just in front of your home. And if you're lucky (we were), you see not only coloured fishes swimming under your deck, but also stingrays ... But just hire the car ... you will need it, as is a 20 minute drive to the first decent food store at Vaitape from the Black Pearl. Nir, your host, is a great guy with a good sense of humour and 100 % trustworthy. He will take care of you. He gives you a mobile phone at arrival and during your stay you can contact him if you want a reservation, an activity or an answer to any question... Way more affordable than resorts, amazing good care from Gerard (he's available most of the time for whatever you might need!) and the place is simple yet fully equipped for what might be needed for a short stay. At the moment we stayed there, the whole house seemed either new or incredibly well maintained and everything worked out just as smooth as we could ask. The backyard facing directly to the water is just amazing. Vaitape is a tiny city, but this place is at the same time quiet and close to anything that we could need from the city (10 minutes far walking from city center). Only little nit: WiFi signal is a bit weak in the backyard so it's hard to enjoy some connectivity and the delightful views at the same time :) A signal repeater would fix that, though. We stayed in the ground floor unit with a beautiful view of the bay and the sunset, the ambience was amazing from when we woke up early in the morning until we got back from the days adventure and relaxed on the veranda until evening. Gerard has deep discounts arranged for his guests around town with car rentals, buggy rentals, and the fantastic lagoon tour that no one should leave Bora Bora without doing. Gerard himself also went out of his way to facilitate our ability to enjoy the island by offering to take us to and from Matira beach the day after we arrived, he also had kayaks available for us to use. He did many little things to enhance our stay such as hanging fresh picked bananas on the veranda and doing a load of laundry for us. Gerard is an awesome airbnb host, he lives close by and he really cares about his guests. He has been a resident of Bora Bora for over 30 years and can give you accurate information about everything on the island. When we were leaving and I was thanking him for a fabulous stay, he told me that most people only come to Bora Bora once in their life and he wants to make sure that he can make it the best experience possible for them, and that is exactly what he did.
