Everything was seamless from communication, getting there, and leaving. The property is very nice and the location is great. The room was clean and comfortable for the most part. My only real comment was on the bed, I am very short 5'6.5" and my wife is about 5'3" but we still felt a little crammed on the futon. Other than that the place is great for a weekend visit to Boone, especially when traveling with pets which can always be difficult. Thank you for letting us stay with you!

I recommend Crystals cabin. Very clean and quiet. The sound of the creek was the highlight of our stay. We also enjoyed talking with Crystal . She shared with us places to hike and eat. The road was Beautiful.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Crystal's lovely cabin for one night so that we could hike in the mountains surrounding Boone. It was tucked up next to a hillside surrounded by trees and had a beautiful view. We fell asleep to the sound of water flowing in the creek nearby. It was absolutely perfect. Crystal is awesome and very accommodating. She was welcoming and truly made us feel at home.

The stay was everything myself, boyfriend and dog needed. Quite time to ourselves. It rained the whole time which made the small, private cabin even more calming. Wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely take the hike to Howard's Creek Falls. It was beautiful down there.

My partner and I felt so at home in this space! We desperately needed to go off grid and ground ourselves; this was the perfect space for doing so! Crystal was clear and easy to communicate with, and we felt very welcome. The space was clean, secluded, and perfect for taking time and space to breathe and connect. I would stay again in a heartbeat, and hope I have the chance to soon!

Sincerely wish we had had more time to stay at this spot. Though a bit of a trek off the highway, and not super easy to find at night, it was worth the journey! The space was very welcoming and comfortable, perfect for short term stays, and the hosts were on top of feedback and communication. During the right time of year, this would be a space I would want to go to often to get away from the hustle and bustle of work. In the winter it could be tricky, I'd imagine, and cell service isn't the greatest (although Verizon worked fine most of the time). As long as you don't mind being on the outskirts of a town, in the woods, this spot is worth every dime!

Crystal's place is AMAZING! It was semi secluded but a short drive down the mountain and you're surrounded by shops and restaurants. I didn't get to meet her because she was out of town during my stay, however she was always reachable. I also briefly met Makayla, who was very nice also . Cell service was kind of sketchy there, so she left me very detailed instructions on how to reach her home. She provided everything I needed, flashlight, washer and dryer, keys to the house, brochures for sights around town. Her home is very comfy and clean and I would definitely stay there again. I highly recommend Crystal's place if you're in the Boone area.

This was the perfect, cozy cabin for a long weekend stay! The location was perfect to get into town, yet secluded to really enjoy the outdoors and scenery. Loved it!

D.J.'s place was fantastic. Professionally and beautifully decorated and has everything that is required. All you need to do is bring your groceries and enjoy. French doors open both from the living room and master bedroom onto the front deck making it feel like an outdoor living space in a matter of minutes. The cool little town of Blowing Rock is a short drive on a wonderful road. Walk to hiking trails or drive 7 mins to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'll definitely be back.

Great place to access all the trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as Boone and Blowing Rock. Home was very comfortable and clean with great interior touches and designs. We hope to visit again in the near future.

The guest house cabin was absolutely adorable and was so cozy for my husband and I and our dog. The access to the trails and restaurants was only a short drive away and the views were so wonderful. This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway with peace and quiet.

Very spacious, private quarters and lots of attention to detail made our stay great. Very peaceful holler with lots of bunnies and deer. Because of the elevation and basement location we didn't miss the A/C - window open at night, window & ceiling fan helped. Complimentary blueberry stollen bread was delicious, apple ale & German beer hit the spot and we loved the gallon of ice cold filtered water. The location is an outdoor paradise with all the hiking, biking, etc. Great tips from Melissa on where to run, where to swim, where to eat. Dogs were very friendly.

Melissa was so kind and kept me informed about checking in and she was very flexible in allowing a late check in. Her private suite was well appointed and she had fresh baked goods, coffee and tea out for us! The view is stunning and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. We were able to come and go as we pleased and felt completely at home. The bed was very comfortable and the private bath immaculate. Wonderful experience!

Absolutely wonderful experience at Melissa's cabin in Boone! I had the entire basement of the cabin, complete with small refrigerator and microwave. The entire space was spotless and the king size bed very comfortable. Being in the basement, it is private but I was able to interact with Melissa and her husband as I was coming and going. It is about a 10 minute drive into downtown Boone and to anything on the Appalachian State University campus. Definitely consider this cabin if you are looking for a comfortable stay with beautiful views, fresh mountain air, and especially if you love yellow Labradors......they will greet you as you come and go each day!

this was our second stay with melissa and it was great. love the bed and the space. there are great recommendations on things to do and places to eat or you could just relax and watch tv in the private sitting area.

Diane's place far exceeded our expectations for our week-long trip. The cabin itself is beautiful and nestled in the trees at the top of a hill above it all. We especially appreciated the clean home, ample towels, and the wonderful hot tub. There were plenty of tips scattered throughout the cabin to help with everything from the wi-fi to extra bedding. I can promise this will be everything you would ever want in a cabin getaway, even in March.

Loved the house! Dianne left us treats around the house. House was close to downtown and the ski resort. Will definitely stay again!

Tranquil and nostalgic. This is the ideal place for a secluded getaway, yet 15 minutes to Boone and eateries. Both of us and our dog loved sitting on the wraparound porch overlooking the treetops and the gorgeous mountain views. We will definitely be going back!!

My family and I loved our weekend in this cabin! It was very cozy and we instantly felt at home. The views from the porch were breathtaking and the bed was very comfortable. Beth was very easy to work with and responded to emails quickly, even though she was out of town. We also enjoyed meeting the neighbors who made us feel very welcome. We hope to plan another trip here again soon!

We had a wonderful time staying in the mountains. The cabin is cosy and equipped with everything you could need for your stay. My group thoroughly enjoyed staying in a clean, homey atmosphere all to our own.

The view is amazing and having the large porch to sit on to enjoy is fantastic. The house was ready and open for us when we arrived. It was clean and had all amenities needed for a relaxing weekend. The wifi is spotty but if you are going to get away it shouldn't matter anyway. Would recommend this spot with no hesitation!

Charming cottage with pretty nature surronding it. The hike we did on the property was very fun. Kids loved playing with dogs in the creek.

If you don't take this opportunity, you're truly missing out. Bring an empty plate so you can fill up on everything there is to do.

A lovely and charming cabin if you like to rough it a bit. Our first night it snowed, there are heaters in every room and an amazing wood stove, but I'd recommend bringing warm clothes, a bundle of wood, and your fire-building skills if you'll stay in cold weather. Beautiful, private views all around, but a close drive to great restaurants. There in a small kitchenette and full size dining room table, perfect for our little family. We have a 1.5 year old son who was just old enough to not touch the heaters and toaster, might be a tricky for littler kids who can get around themselves.

We had such a great time at the cabin! The grounds were beautiful and lots of land to explore. Oreo and Oscar the local dogs will join you on your walks :) Visited a nearby winery, did some skiiing, and some antiquing! Two fireplaces which we took advantage of.

Great rustic cabin on a beautiful property with mountain views. We brought our 3 year old son for tubing at Hawks Nest, and this cabin was the perfect place to stay. The front porch was still decorated with Christmas lights, so we bundled up the first night and relaxed on the porch swing. The next day Ed's sweet dogs joined us as we explored the trails and stream on the property. The bed was super comfy, and we enjoyed finding wood to make s'mores in the fire pit out back. Ed's son brought us extra marsmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. Overall we had a great time and are hoping to visit again in warmer weather.

This is a great house! It is close to ASU, downtown Boone, and isolated enough to give a private vacation in the mountains. We loved it!

Great value here. Short drive to Sugar Mountain. Around the corner from downtown Boone, which has a surprisingly nice selection of food/activity options. House was great for the price. Comfortable. Perfect place to relax after skiing (or whatever) all day. Plenty of dishes/blankets/etc. Everything was clean, and the house is in good shape. Only thing that threw us for a loop is that the thermostat is locked up and only accessible by the owner. But the temperature was pleasant for us. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a solid budget option in the area.

David was a great host. Everything was clean and just as advertised. Comfortable and great location to downtown Boone.

This listing was as charming as it looks in the pictures. We were four women friends, in Boone for a weeklong workshop. David thought of everything needed for a comfortable stay--cozy beds, plenty of towels, clear instructions, well-appointed kitchen, and a wonderful seating area where we could sprawl out and chill after our workshop. The cabin couldn't have been more convenient. Everything we needed was less than 20 minutes away. We hope to make this an annual trip, and we hope David has a vacancy for us the next time we head to Boone. Thanks, David!

This was a great space for a three-generation family gathering. It provided ample visiting space, nice bedrooms and bathrooms, and a convenient kitchen/dining room for sharing meals. It was also well-outfitted for the snow and cold that greeted us, and its southern exposure was warm and sunny when the clouds cleared. The location was very convenient to Boone, Appalachian State, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis (original Mast General Store), and the Blue Ridge Parkway. David was easy to comunicate with and very responsive. He made sure we had all the information we needed to find the home and enjoy our stay.

We have rented Mountain View 3 times and will keep coming back. The location is close to App State, so it is very convenient for a trip to Boone. The house has a great floor plan to accommodate a family or couples. Mountain View has a truly beautiful setting and is a well-appointed and cozy cabin.

Outstanding professionally managed get away in a remote cabin. Everything was perfect and as described. Not sure how the host pulled it off but we loved the 6" of fresh snow. The outdoor walkway with arch to the back is a great starting point for sledding. Thank you for everything, we look forward to booking with you again.
