Vacation Rentals in Bonners Ferry

Just booked in Bonners Ferry

You will be staying in our Guest 14ft Yurt located on 13 acres of birch groves. Our location is about 20 minutes to the base of Schweitzer and town. The Guest Yurt comes complete with queen bed, two burner stove, small fridge, desk, and wood fire. Bring your slippers! Winter time conditions could require 4 wheel drive or AWD when the snow is present.
This 14-foot yurt is a small walk about 50 yards, from your guest parking. You will pass our 30 ft family yurt onto your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom futon bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity feed water system for the Yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire and an outdoor bath tub and shower shared by our family. The kitchen comes with pots and pans, plates, etc. and few extras. You will hear the sounds of nature and North Idaho at times out in your Yurt as trains passing through the valley to Canada. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you.
We are just outside of Sandpoint in a wonderful spot in the woods. Only 1/2 mile to pavement and an excellent location for talking walks in the woods. Sometimes 4 wheel drive might be needed after big snow storm to come up to the place.
  • Great lil place, great people. Would go again.

  • Todd and Monica's mountain yurt is a perfect quiet getaway. It is less than 20 minutes from town so you can stay out late and still get away from town when you're ready. It is immensely quiet in the evening and the young roosters are the most charming alarm clock - though if you're not an early riser they provide earplugs. :) Will definitely stay there again!!

  • I am an outdoor adventure writer in the Inland Northwest - among other things - and Todd and Monica's yurt was one of the places my husband and I stayed while researching an article on winter yurt adventures. When you think of yurt living, you anticipate some comfortable and some "rustic" elements. Todd and Monica's yurt was the perfect combination of both. They paid attention to all the small details while still providing an unforgettable semi-outdoor experience. Everything was clean and cozy. There were plenty of blankets and firewood, a simple-to-use water reservoir for "running" water, coffee, kitchenware and utensils, soft robes, bottled water and more. Even the separate outhouse was clean and stocked with toilet paper, matches, magazines, and extra firewood and kindling. Todd and Monica's yurt, where they have lived for 12 years, was also close by, surrounded by a couple gardens, chicken coop and outdoor shower/bath amenities. The location was close to Sandpoint, Ponderay and Schweitzer, with plenty of backcountry trails within easy access.

    Sarah2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late and left early, wish we could have done that differently as it would have been nice to explore and visit with Todd, Monica and Family. The yurt is secluded enough from the family yurt so that you dont feel like you are sharing privacy. The shower and bath are on the outside of the family yurt, that is just an FYI. We didn't have a chance to use either (yes, we usually take showers - we woke up late!), but wish we would have. Just a great, relaxing stay - it was close to 0 degrees at night and we were plenty comfortable.

    Shaun2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 days and it exceeded expectations. Walking out of the yurt to see fresh snow all over the trees in the forest was something out of a movie. Todd and Monica went out of their way to help us on multiple occasions, lending us snow shoes and making a map of where to go. Make sure you have a decent-sized car to get through the snow if you are going in the winter months! Awesome experience that neither of us will forget.

    Jared2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We could only stay one night but it was magical! The yurt is in a great location, and Todd was a great host. His family gave lots of advice on where to swim and hike during our stay. Would definitely return for a longer period.

    Lucy2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • When you find somewhere that is comfortable, unique and beautiful you know it's special. Tod and Monica's yurt on their gorgeous property is definitely such a place. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

GREAT PLACE to stay after a full day at Silverwood, Glacier Park or a long day of driving. At top of driveway, turn right thru the red reflectors (onto the grass), pull up to the patio and enter thru French Doors. Very comfy King bed, huge luxurious bath w/his /her sinks, jacuzzi tub, walk in shower & heated floors; located on 20 acres; 40 min. to Schweitzer, 1/2 hr. to Sandpoint, snowmobiling, hiking near Kootenai Falls & family activities. Keurig coffee & well stocked mini kitchen.
This 20 acre parcel is VERY unique with huge house sized boulders. Walking distance to 3 grocery stores. Deer (8-12) walk out of the "retired" tree farm and graze in the front yard; flocks of wild turkeys (usually 13-14) and the occasional elk will stroll thru. Bedroom and bath are very spacious; our recent guest referred the bathroom as "epic"!! Property is very quiet; no close neighbors. We have an information sheet in room that recommends places to eat.
There are no close neighbors. The kitchenette in the master bedroom has a refrigerator with basics like butter, bread, yogurt and fruit, basics including seasonings and canned goodies and other goodies ..... a microwave and Keurig Coffeemaker with K-cups (cream and sugar), a few tea bags, a can opener and wine bottle opener with wine glasses!
  • Margene was at her home to welcome me. Meeting her was like reconnecting with an old friend. She was beyond gracious, kind and caring, offering much more than I would expect from an AirBnB host(ess). The house was beautiful and the room clean and well stocked. Location was heaven and watching deer in the a.m. lent a feeling of calm to the beauty of surroundings. Overall it was a lovely visit and I would definitely go back again!

  • Nice quite place to stay.host is very friendly

    Monica2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very scenic spot. Close to grocery stores and dining, more affordable than most locations in nearby Sandpoint. The room is well appointed with a private entrance. King size bed with a soft mattress, and a en- suite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower. Water pressure is excellent and plenty of hot water. Charming hostess is welcoming and you can join her on the front porch in the evenings to watch the deer as they come in to feed in the front yard.

  • We had such a wonderful time here! We even stayed an extra night because the space was so great. I can't say enough good things about it. The bed was so comfortable, the bathtub has jets that make bubbles I thought only existed in movies, and the hospitality of the hosts made me feel instantly at home. If we are ever anywhere near this area we will seek this place out.

  • Margene and Eldon have a great place. Spending the night at Margene and Eldon's was a lovely way to end a long day at Silverwood. Their location is gorgeous and not too hard to find, even in the dark, thanks to Margene's concise directions. It was easy to relax and enjoy some wine on the patio while listening to the crickets. We loved it.

    Nikki2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely home. The master suite had everything we could ever want in a stay. The bed is amazing, there is a full mini kitchen with so many options. The bathroom with the heated tile floor was a luxury anyone would love. Such a clean, quiet and beautiful place. It was a last minute booking and you guys made everything easy. Thank you so much!

    Misty2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Margene is an incredibly kind and accommodating host. Everything from letting me borrow a mouse for my computer and her breakfast smoothies made the trip great. Further, the size, cleanliness, and comfort of the room allowed me to unwind and recharge. Will be staying there again!

  • My group was only able to stay one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. The house is very comfortable and has lots of fun decorations and architecture. The hosts were very quick to respond to any questions and were kind enough to leave the lights on for us since we arrived after dark. The house was very clean and comfortable and if we are ever in Bonners Ferry again we would love to come back.

  • This place was like a heaven for our group of 10. Very spacious living room and kitchen. Plus a nice view to the river from the dining room with a well maintained piano. Communication with Jennifer was accurate fast and reliable. And we enjoyed many nice thoughtful details here and there. If you're planning to visit/pass northern Idaho this place is highly recommended.

  • This is the place to stay in Bonner's Ferry. There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this home is, but the moment you walk in you will understand that you have found the greatest hidden gem of the town. The things you want to know: very clean, very easy check in, plenty of parking, the kitchen is great and the BBQ grill is set up with everything you need. Could easily accommodate 4 people and really could go up to 6 without feeling cramped. The things I want you to know: extremely peaceful, amazingly welcoming and indescribably beautiful.

    Jolanta2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Sandra's place- she was a wonderful host. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by how intimate and warm the setting was. The yard is fully enclosed as is the carport allowing us to send the kids out to play while we relaxed inside. The home was beautifully decorated with many personal touches of homemade artwork that made the home really stand out to us. The backyard is nothing short of marvelous and magical- the decor and outdoor firepit were a wonderful sight. Some of the outdoor space was covered with a roof so even in the rain this space is useable. We had a fire every night. This space was a truly wonderful surprise.

  • Absolutely five stars! The room is beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The mattress was very comfortable and bedding were luxurious. The room has its own bathroom and very private. Eldon was a very gracious host and a great conversationalist. The home is situated in a beautiful secluded 20 acre property with peace and serenity. The beauty of nature is all around you including deer roaming through. I highly recommend this home! Thank you Eldon and Margene.

  • This home is tucked away in the woods within Bonners Ferry and is such a great stay for either a single person or a couple. Eldon was very welcoming and answered any questions I had and made me feel at home. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to meet Margene however she was readily available via phone or text and also answered any questions I had. If you are looking for a great relaxing, quiet, and restful stay whether it is for one night or multiple nights, I would highly recommend this home. Both of the owners ensure your stay is top-notch. Thank you Eldon and Margene for opening up your beautiful home to Airbnb. Also Eldon and I had breakfast at The Badgers Den (which is right down the road from the home) and it was very good. I would recommend this place for breakfast if you are staying it will be the icing on the cake.

    Brooks2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Cow Creek Cottage. We are a family of four (two teenage girls) and there was plenty of space for us all. It's a beautiful setting and coffee on the balcony either up or downstairs in the morning was a great way to see the deer and just relax into the day. The Cottage (by size it's definitely more of a house) has pretty much everything you need; functional and decently equipped kitchen, spotless bathrooms and bedrooms with nice bed linen, good washing machine and dryer (we did wish for some form of outside washing line and clothes pegs to take advantage of the hot and dry conditions - don't always want/need to use a dryer) and a nice outside space with seating around a fire pit (which understandably given the searing heat and drought conditions we were asked not to make use of). Suzanne was super friendly and met us on our arrival and made us feel really welcome. Bonners Ferry is a really chilled little town - some decent places to eat and a brilliant book shop and little art co-op run by local artists / jewellery makers / sculptors. Not to mention a great wine and beer shop - Heart Rock Wines and the Crosstime Saloon (must mention personal interest as they are run by great friends of ours. Definitely worth a visit). Lovely walks, especially Snow Creek Falls and a day wandering around Sandpoint also great. Can't wait to come back.

    Gaynor2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is PERFECT! The owner's photos depict exactly what you get inside and out; what they don't show is how clean the home is, how everything you need is already there, just show up with your groceries and luggage. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one like a master, with a deck, the second with a double bed and two bunks. Downstairs is a study with a fold out bed which is as comfortable as a regular bed. In the living room is yet another double bed-sized fold out couch. It's about an eight minute drive to Bonner's Ferry, yet feels as if you are a million miles from civilization. Four adult men shared the home for a week, each with our own bedroom, never getting in each others' way. The house has a second, connecting apartment with another bedroom and bath, which allows total accommodation for up to 10-12 people, perfect for two families with kids vacationing together. Bicycling starts right at the front door; hiking trail heads are anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour away. There are several decent restaurants in Bonner's Ferry, as well as two large and one small grocery stores. Careful attention to detail in every aspect of the home is clearly evident. Don't think twice about booking this listing.

Snow! Snow! And MORE FUN SNOW. With a cosy warm efficient fireplace or infrared electric. Cross country ski right off porch or go to fabulous smith lake (5miles and plowed!) great ice fishing on Smith too. Vintage log cabin nestled beside large grove of pines, has western feel but modern comfort. Our cabin has lots to offer in a wonderful environment. Come enjoy!
The log cabin brings out a feel of the West we read about in history, with touches of the local history in the photos throughout the cabin. Yet it has plenty of hot water and a Hi-Flame efficient wood stove or a infrared electric heater. Cabin stays warm in winter and cool in summer because of the thickness of the logs. Comfortable Englander queen bed and just as comfortable twin. Since we live on the Earth and there are critters out there that want to share the indoor space, we take precautions to control the insects and rodents( have never had a rodent yet in cabin but a few ants have made it in) so we use a organic product ( will not hurt pets or humans, but takes care if the insects) the product is in a small granular form and is under sinks and around the outside of cabin and on porch. Please leave only effective if there. PLEASE do not leave pets alone in cabin, either have in crate ( we have very large one and smaller) or take them with you, unless a parrot in cage we had visit for 5 weeks once! We have a out door kennel if you dig does not dig. Talk to us and introduce your animal to ours, everyone gets along better that way. There maybe exceptions for a few hours once we meet the animal.
The property is country, but close to town, 3 miles, we live on the property too, but cabin is past and off to the side init's own grove of pines, we have a 6' bamboo privacy fence at the edge of our pine grove. We have a fairly close bakery and country store 1/4 mile and Hardware is just past that, a truck stop is at the junction of 95 and 2. Has good hardy food too! All you can eat fish and chips Friday! We have a organic farming couple across the road and many nice quiet families on their well kept acres in the area. But the wonderful mountain views as one drives to the property. Lots to eat, drink and do outdoors here! Occasionally there is a happiness at the local Pearl theater and we are scheduled for our movie theater to be reopened after renovations at a later date.
  • This was our first time using Airbnb and I am happy to say Lee and Charlie described their cabin perfectly. It was very clean and quaint. They weren't home for most of our stay but when we did meet and talk to Lee she was very nice. The cabin had lots of hot water and what looked like a remodeled bathroom. The kitchen had all the essentials you need. Sometimes when you stay away from home you feel putout in some ways, this was NOT one of those times. There was plenty of clean towels, soap, clean sheets, and they even have some spices and such. I would definitely stay with them again if I get a chance to go back to Bonners Ferry. Thanks Lee and Charlie!!!!

  • Absolute wonderful stay! We miss this little cabin already. It has everything you need for a nice relaxing getaway! The hosts are top notch. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We found our new home while on vacation !! Lee is so sweet and welcoming in helping us in any way she could !

    Diana2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. The description is spot on . You couldn't ask for better hosts. Charlie and Lee are great.

    Eric2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice setting. Just the laid back experience we were looking for. Lee was very nice as was Charlie. We enjoyed the private setting and shade. Only down side was when my wife was tripped by one of the host's 6 month old dog and took a terrible fall. She spoke with Lee the next day and the dog was more secure after that. I would recommend this place as a great place to stay.

  • Close to town but still private setting. Cozy and comfortable.

    Nicole2016-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and comfy, yet close to town. Just what we needed.

    Butch2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the hominess of the wood stove as well as the quiet location. The beds were super comfy. The instant hot sweater in the shower was fantastic. Lee's friendliness and helpfulness made us feel like a friend rather than a guest.

  • The Cabin in the Pines was a perfect little retreat for my road trip to Canada. It's cute, quaint, and very comfortable. Lee, the host, got a fire going in the morning so the cabin was nice and warm when we arrived after dark and the bed was nicely fitted with flannel sheets. If you are passing through the area or wanting to get away, I highly recommend staying here! Lee's dog was also the best welcoming party!

Snow Creek Canyon--the perfect getaway for those looking for a peaceful retreat in a picturesque setting. Hike through the forested terrain in the Selkirk Mountains, sit by a refreshing waterfall, or rest quietly...listening to Snow Creek flowing in the canyon below. Relax in this hidden, but accessible home-away-from-home. Adventurous guests will find plenty of activities available in every season. Friendly hosts, beautiful scenery & a memorable experience await you in north Idaho.
Located 15 minutes from Bonners Ferry, ID in the Selkirk Mountains. Ideal for those who enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities. Not recommended for families with very young children, due to the canyon and year-round creek on property.
We cannot see our nearest neighbors on our 20-acre property. It is a peaceful, private retreat.
  • If you are looking for a quality place to relax and unwind look no further. My stay at Glenda's in Ross's place was outstanding. The breakfast served was delicious. The place is beautiful, the surroundings are picturesque, the background noise from the creek is soothing, the dogs on the property are very well behaved, and well, there is Ross and Glenda! A wonderful, thoughtfull, genuine, loving couple. I am so grateful I chosed their place to spend the weekend. I was overwelmed by their hospitality & kindness. Pepole say Canadians are nice but this felt like home on it's best behavior. Not only the B&B but the whole area. Their place is not too far off the main highway and it is easy to access. My GPS took me right to the drive way. It's an easy drive to Sand Point and Schweitzer Resort is on the way to Sand Point. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a getaway but still be at a reasonable distance from Sand Point. Bonners Ferry is very close and also a quint little town. Kino.

  • The property is awesome. It's nice and quiet up on the mountain.really nice room and the hospitality is unheard of. Super nice people with a property that they love to share with others. If I end up back up in this area I will definitely be staying here in the future. There are not words to explain the hospitality that Glenda and her husband offer.

    DEREK2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place in the woods look no further. Glenda is a super host and her husband Ross is a great guide for the area. They have a beautiful creek right on their property. The beds were comfy, the place was very clean and it was easy to get in and out. We wish we had an extra day or two to check out the wildlife refuge down the hill and the hiking in area.

    Adam2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and thoughtful hosts. The property is spectacular. The room was vey large and clean.

Big Boulder Cabin is set on six private parked out acres offering you the perfect place to relax, unwind and view nature. Tastefully decorated, well appointed and equipped you'll have no reason to leave...I'm offering an experience not just a room.
The cabin is 1,400 sft with one large bedroom and one smaller bedroom with a single bed that is used as a dressing room, but can accommodate a third person if needed. An open floor plan with high cathedral ceilings and large windows all around makes for easy viewing of property and the abundant wildlife.
The Cabin is just down the road from Western Pleasure Guest Ranch where horseback riding and wagon rides are available. A little further is the famous Pack River Store a great place to have breakfast, lunch or just sit on the porch and hang out with a few locals. Grouse Creek National Forest is also nearby as well as hundreds of miles of trails in the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains.
  • Wonderful, private location, the cabin is immaculately maintained, deer in the morning and welcomes from Tiger whenever we returned from town made this a very special location. Patrick was the best host I've experienced yet and we will go back.

    Gregory2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick is amazing! His cabin is clean, scenic and relaxing! A perfect spot to stay off the beaten path for a quick ski trip! This place is perfect for 3 adults or a mix of kids and adults!

    Erin2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a very quiet retreat for talking and resting. Patrick's house supplied the quiet. The beds were excellent so we were able to rest, too. Patrick arranged to meet us; showed us how everything worked, and was available by text message for questions. He leaves you to your own business. The house is well appointed, complete with books, puzzles, DVDs, and some magazines. The kitchen contains lots of dried herbs and spices and oil and sugar and vinegar, etc. There is a coffee maker with filters and a toaster. The bathroom has a nice hot shower and a good heater. If you like starting your own woodstove fire every morning, this is the place for you. There is wood for that purpose. There are some short hiking trails on the property, but if you are an avid, long distance hiker, you would have to find public land to use, as most land around this property is private. However, you can walk on the road, and Patrick has a very special dog who likes to accompany you on walks. This property is about 10 miles or so from the Pack River General Store, where you can get a meal, a beer, and some groceries. It is very unique. Otherwise, if you want to eat out, you have to go to Sandpoint, which is about 30 minutes out. The description of this property is accurate and if you really want to rest, this is the place.

    Jennifer2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful secluded cabin in the mountains, loved the rustic decor and sitting on the deck relaxing in the sun! Would love to return. We bought all our groceries before we arrived and stayed at the cabin the whole time, which was just what we wanted, a couple of days to unwind. Thanks for a great stay Patrick!

    Audrey2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Private, yet close enough to town. Loved the sounds of nature at night around one of the many fire pits offered around the property. Patrick was very friendly and offered up great advice on where to eat and things to do in the area.

    Hope2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cute cabin in rural Sandpoint, ID. Note that it is located about 30min outside of Sandpoint, so is a good idea to stop at a grocery store before arriving. Also note the school zone (speed limit 20mph during the day) on Coulburn Culver road....take our word for it... Host Patrick was there to greet us & give us the run-down upon arrival & was also available to help with a stove issue during our stay.

    Rebecca2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful and quiet place-decorated lovely, tons of movies. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat this is it!

  • The cabin was very cute and unique, we enjoyed our quiet stay at the property. It was clean and peaceful. The only thing was the caretakers cabin was closer then we thought so at first it was weird for us but Patrick didn't bother us during our stay we didn't see or hear him.

Situated next to a year round creek surrounded by forest service and miles of hiking trails. This is a lovely little area close to the Yaak River and the Kootenai River.
This is primitive and remote. No cell phone service. We do have wifi at the house and of course a phone that you can use. The closest town is 12 miles away. Its a beautiful area with lots to explore.
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paul and Victoria's teepee! We felt very comfortable and welcomed especially in the morning with coffee and chats before heading on our way. The property is gorgeous and we really felt the full experience of sleeping in the woods and being one with nature. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique camping experience that won't break the bank.

    Phoebe2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria was a spectacular host. She was incredibly accommodating, friendly and welcoming. The tipi is in a beautiful secluded deluxe campsite on the edge of her property along a creek. Complete privacy and trails are literally at your "doorstep". This is the bargain of a lifetime and a truly fantastic experience. 5 stars, hands down.

    Connor 2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria was a great host! She was welcoming, accommodating, and attentive to my needs. The setting was just lovely: a teepee by a lovely creek. Beautiful!

  • This is such a little treasure! Beautiful location, remote yet easy access and the hosts are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The tipi was such a great experience. The campsite is set up perfect. Look forward to staying there again!

  • The Teepee was everything we wanted and more. The location is wonderful, the site is simple and comfy. Victoria and her partner are approachable and knowledgeable. This is definitely a site to return to!

  • I am horrible at directions and even I was able to follow the great directions Victoria sent:) When I arrived her husband came and greeted me which was welcoming. He showed me around and even sent his son down to chop some wood for me! I was able to explore the woods just behind the tipi which was fun to feel alone in the woods. During my stay I was able to visit Kootenai Falls Swinging Bridge which was less than 15miles away and a couple hours away I spent the day at Glacier National Park. As I returned the second night I was surprised to find home made peanut butter cookies waiting for me. Everything was just perfect!

    Nicole2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, wonderful hosts. Exactly as pictured. What a great experience! Victoria and her husband are very gracious hosts and have an amazing piece of paradise that they are willing to share.

  • We had to cancel our trip due to inclement weather, however I am definitely planning to stay here a different time! Victoria was amazing, she promptly and kindly answered many questions and was fantastic when we had to cancel. I couldn't have been happier with the communication and understanding.

Our other two airbnb listings are for the Green yurt (furnished the same), and the Orange yurt with one single bed, and one bunk bed with a single on top and double below, plus a love seat (sleeps 4 max). We border national forest and overlook a beautiful mountain river. This is the last place before many miles of wild, mountain lakes and streams. There are no neighbors to hear or see, only an occasional howl of a coyote or whistle of the train off in the distance.
  • Excellent place if you are a nature lover. wonderful people with an amazing view and serendipitously scenic place. we had our first proper starry night as its a bit far from the city lights. :) Highly recommended, especially if you are in your way to Glacier or Banff.

Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Julie but Ed was an excellent host, as soon as we got there he gave us a little tour of the yurts, the common area which had a fully stocked kitchen, really nice bathrooms, art area, etc.. Very welcoming, anything and everything we could need. Our designated yurt was cozy and had very comfortable beds. Definitely will stay here again for our next getaway. Thank you Ed & Julie for opening such a neat and peaceful place for people to relax and enjoy!

  • This property and the hosts are AMAZING. I almost didn't want to leave a review...because I wanted to keep this place a secret all to myself!! Top notch hospitality! We will definately be coming back in just a few weeks to visit again. They made us feel like family more than random guests. We really enjoyed all they had to offer. Thanks again for everything!

  • Our stay with Victoria was wonderful! All of her pictures and descriptions were incredibly accurate to her Airbnb. We had such a peaceful stay on her property, as the apartment is surrounded by beautiful landscape which was a blast to explore. Victoria was very personable, and it was great to get to know her - she was nice enough to give us ideas to visit waterfalls in the region! For the area of Troy/Old Yaak itself, it was a fun and secluded area that I definitely would recommend visiting. Can't say enough great things about this stay, hope to go back in the future. Thanks Victoria! Also, be noted that this property is not on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps! If you type in this address to any GPS, it will give you directions to property an hour and a half north of where the place actually is. Just follow the directions Victoria posted on Airbnb, they were clear and easy to follow.

  • Like everyone has noted....the bed was amazing and so comfy. This location is surrounded by beautiful terrain and peaceful. It was an amazing place to rest after backcountry skiing in the area. The apartment is well equipped, clean and inviting. The kitchen allowed us to dine in and relax into the comfy bed for a great nights sleep. It was so nice our pooch was allowed too. Victoria was wonderful. She greeted us with a smile and showed us around. Can't wait to stay again.

  • Victoria is wonderful. She has a huge garden and fruit orchard and she gave us enough for dinner and breakfast. She also gave us eggs from her free-range chickens. The house and property should be displayed in a magazine for all people to see this amazing slice of heaven. The value for our dollar is the best we have ever spent. We stayed two nights and we should have planned for a week. Bob & Linda, San Diego

  • I give Victoria Johnson's accommodations near Troy MT 5 Stars. We had a delightful 3 days. My husband and I were visiting my daughter who was temporarily working in Libby, MT. She found us this wonderful place to stay while we were visiting. Since she was working during the day we had lots of time on our hands and did not want to stay in a motel. Victoria’s place had a wonderful full size kitchen with everything we needed to make our breakfasts including the eggs from her chickens and veggies from her garden. We saw elk one morning less than 20 ft away. During the day we took several hikes in state and national forest and parks which were all near by. Victoria’s place was just like home with internet and direct TV. The apartment had a very nice living area and big bedroom with quality sheets and towels. I would stay again in a heartbeat if given the chance.

  • We had an amazing stay! This is true Montana. There is a reason they call the area "God's Country". So much to see and do. The apartment is amazing but the best part is Victoria and Jim. They are the reason we would rather stay at an Airbnb then a hotel. Thank you for making our anniversary weekend special! Ole (their dog) was an awesome playmate for our border collie Greta.

  • This is truly a special place. Everything you need for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Ed did a fabulous job of hosting a night with three full yurts while making it seem effortless. As a guest you feel very welcomed and taken care of as they've thought of all the little details to make "roughing it" easy. Good accommodations for young kids getting used to the idea of camping. The puppet theater and watercolor paints & paper were big hits so even if the weather isn't as beautiful as it was this weekend, there's plenty of room in the common area to play and hang out. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen fully functional for preparing anything from a snack to a full meal. I would recommend spending at least two nights so you can experience a full day of fun - morning to bedtime. We had a great stay and look forward to visiting again!

  • My friends and I absolutely loved the Mountain Yurts and felt extremely welcomed by Julie and Ed! A group of friends and I stayed in the yurts for a weekend retreat on the way to Silverwood Theme park. After a 6 hour drive from Seattle, we were greeted with beautifully designed yurts, warm decorations and fully made (Tempurpedic) beds that surpassed everyone's expectations. We woke up Saturday morning to a thoughtfully stocked kitchen (in addition to what we brought ourselves) and fresh Zucchini bread (Possibly the best I've ever had) that Julie had baked just for her guests. Julie and Ed visited in the morning with cheerful interesting conversation who really made us feel welcome and accommodated. I highly recommend this location for a quiet weekend or escape from the city. Julie and Ed are incredible hosts and will go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your visit.

    John-Michael2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Ed's place is a wonderful, scenic escape. The yurts were, clean and welcoming and remained cool during the day and at night - even with the hot weather we were having. The communal area worked out great! It was nice to have a bathroom and kitchen. This place has the fun of camping but with the comforts of home. There are lakes nearby and lots of hiking trails around as well. Julie and Ed were gracious hosts. I would definitely recommend staying here!

    Sarah2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful site for "glamping". Yurts are very comfortable. Highly recommend.

    Rebecca2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The great hospitality started before my family and I even reached Sandpoint, as Ed & Julie made recommendations of places we could stop to eat and where the locals do their grocery shopping while we were on our way. Once we arrived, we got a tour of our accommodations and were asked to make ourselves at home. There was a fresh loaf of apple zucchini bread that Julie had made in the kitchen, which was terrific and promptly devoured. The yurt was bigger than we expected, and quite comfortable. There's also a common kitchen nearby, with a common living room and private bathroom. There are a couple outhouses between the yurt and the private bathroom, all quite clean. All the accommodations were nicer than we were expecting. The living room doubles as Julie's art studio, and she warmly shared some of her supplies so my kids could artistically express themselves in water color. Julie also shared some puppets she uses in her work with kids, which my children really enjoyed. There's a refrigerator, BBQ, and stove that came in quite handy as we prepared our meals. There's also a dishwasher for easy clean up. Both Ed and Julie regularly checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed, but gave us ample space to really enjoy their beautiful property. It felt like we were there on our own most of the time. Ed split some firewood for us, and gave us all the supplies we'd need to make s'mores at the campfire. He also gave my kids some directions on the different trails through the property, and they loved it. The property itself is beautiful. It's close enough to Sandpoint to make a trip into town for any needed supplies, but certainly far away enough to feel like your enjoying your own personal paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to spend more time there.

    Boone2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Ed's yurts were absolutely charming. We were cozy and snug and loved all the thoughtful attention to details. Everything was comfortable. The community building was also excellent and all our expectations were exceeded. The hosts are lovely and extremely helpful.

    Heather2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The common building was an art gallery. Privacy was respected, but they were there, welcoming, making sure everything was to our liking. Hard to express how lovely the yurt and surroundings were. The hosts were great!

The Selkirks are home to the last herd of Woodland Caribou in the lower 48. There is a mini-cabin available at extra cost with 2 more single beds. We can provide for your horses with special arrangements. We have no fencing but ample space to set up high line. Just a bit further up the road you will find Grizzly habitat, old growth forest, and the Canadian border.
The area is popular with hikers, birders, cross county skiers, fishermen, hunters and all who pursue outdoor activities. We are 26 miles from Schweitzer Mountain ski resort, 12 miles from the Canadian border. Wildlife Sightings are a daily occurrence. The quaint town of Bonners Ferry is a 17 minute drive from Sweet Home. There are really good local restaurants, a casino and great gift and antique finds in our shops. The Municipal Golf Course is a jewel of best-kept secrets. Bonners Ferry is a prominent stop on the International Selkirk Loop, and deemed the "Friendliest Town in Idaho".
  • We really appreciated the new house, the quiet setting. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Barbara was very accommodating, she caught up with us a few miles down the road to return a forgotten item. The enclosed patio and wood stove were especially inviting. We will definitely go back if we're in the area.

  • what a beautiful place! Slightly off the beaten path but well worth it. Barbara was an amazing host, far exceeding any expectations I had. The drive through the wild life preserve was fun and the place was perfect. Absolutely lovely place to stay. Hope we can go back!

  • Barbara is a wonderful host and great cook serving full delicious breakfasts as part of your stay. She will accommodate dietary restrictions. Sweet Home is beautiful, located in the gorgeous country outside of Bonner's Ferry. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us. We highly recommend staying at Sweet Home! Rhonda and Kim

  • Sweet Home is a perfect place to get away from the stresses of life, just relax and enjoy nature. The home is very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed is plush and comfy. Barbara is a very thoughtful host and a good listener. It was too cold for the screen porch so she treated me like a house guest, serving great breakfasts at her own table. I really enjoyed the nature refuge and all the beautiful scenery around Bonners Ferry. The drive from town to her home was beautiful every time, and the view across the valley is spectacular. This is a perfect base for an "unplugging" vacation. There is plenty to do if you want to explore the beautiful natural resources in the area. I had a lovely, restful break to my busy routine(URL HIDDEN)

  • Our long weekend at Sweet Home was a very restful, much needed break from our busy schedules. The setting is homey, peaceful and very comfortable! Barbara was a wonderful hostess. She knew the best spots for taking in the nature, all within a few miles of her home! You really can't get a better breakfast anywhere else around. And Walter the dog was the cherry on top! I would say our fist Airbnb experience was a great success.

  • My brief stay with Barbara was on my way to a bucket list hiking trip in Glacier NP. The home is beautifully designed and the view of the Kootenai river valley is fantastic. You can really tell how much thought, planning, and care went into the layout. The back porch is very cool. The home is removed from town which I enjoyed very much. It is a very peaceful setting. There are several very cool things to see nearby - especially the wildlife preserve at dusk and some great short hikes to some really nice falls. The best part is that Barbara is a phenomenal host and a truly quality person. Not to mention a fabulous cook! I feel that I have gained a friend along my way and look forward to coming back someday - probably in an effort to lobby my wife to move to Idaho!

    KEN2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We found that our host truly loves people. We quickly realized that barbs love for people lead to her opening her home to share its beauty with others! Her heart for serving and hospitality was very clear and her home was breath taking. Much nicer than the photos show! My wife and I are also dog lovers and her dog Walter is a dream dog! Super sweet and we both agreed should be a therapy dog! We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast, soft pillows, and great conversation we got to have with barb over breakfast one of our days! She really is gifted at hosting people, and we are already trying to plan when to come back just to say hi and stay a few days! Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

  • This Yurt was amazing! Very upscale with everything you would need for your stay. Very clean and amazing bed. The shower room was cute as could be and the outhouse was as clean as promised. Property was beautiful and private and a short drive to town. The hosts were very helpful but never intruded. We hope to stay here again next year!

  • This place was ALL that I expected and MORE! The entire property inside and out was clean and comfortable. My favorite thing was the creek - I didn't put my feet in but I should have! The hosts suggest putting chairs in the creek and cooling off, I didn't get the opportunity but next time I will. I loved the "noise" of the creek and the other nature sounds all around! The bed was my 2nd favorite thing! So incredibly comfy!! The sheets were the softest and the blanket was super snugly!! The shower shack was incredible! The hosts were wonderful people and welcomed us upon arrival. There wasn't anything to complain about - I would highly recommend to anyone looking to escape from the craziness of hotels/motels, etc. Thank you Janis and Roger !!

  • This place is so cute and everything we could have asked for! The yurt was very homey and listening to the river at night was so relaxing. Our dog loved exploring the forest and playing in the river. Janis was so wonderful and made our first airbnb experience great. We will definitely be back in the winter time!

Enjoy a woodsy stay close to Schweitzer Mountain just north of scenic Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille. Stunning stone art murals of moose and other wildlife enhance the forested setting in a secluded elevation of gigantic boulders. Moose, deer and other wildlife roam freely on the 20 acres. Memory foam beds ensure a pleasant night's rest in two separate private rooms, ideal for a family or group.
Keystone Mountain Retreat is on the west edge of the beautiful Selle valley, where the peaceful setting is an amazing place to unwind and get back to nature. The moment you turn at the handcrafted stone mailbox, the meandering drive invites you to see what is just around the next curve. Breath in the scenery, stone art, and wildlife in the day time or seek adventure locally at Schweitzer Ski Resort, Sandpoint shops and beach, or at Lake Pend Oreille. Cozy up to the deep heat from the woodstove, then relax on a memory foam bed for a peaceful night's rest in the woods. In winter, white pillows of snow can cover the colorful leaves of autumn. Tracks of wildlife are everywhere. The pine trees are weighed down with heavy snow on their limbs for a time. It is like stepping into a postcard of a winter wonderland. You might spy a deer or moose. You are likely to spot a snowshoe hare as it changes from its summer coat to the white of winter. Coyotes occasionally will sing in the distance. The best times for wildlife viewing are during early morning walks. Take in the tranquility of a stroll around the loop drive. View amazing stone art wildlife murals, enjoy waterfalls trickling into the pond, overlook of the Selkirk mountains, picnic area with fire pit, and garden beds created by stone artisan/owner of Keystone Masonry. As you enter our home, slate stone floors lead from the front to the back entrances through the kitchen and joining the bedrooms, stairs and bathroom areas. Take time to notice the iris stone mural on the bathroom floor. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is ample space in the refrigerator for your perishables and groceries. Comfortable seating and picture windows in the living room invite wildlife viewing and meditation, or curling up with a good book by the wood stove. Thumb through the Sandpoint Magazine and our own guide with helpful recommendations to plan the details of your stay. Two separate bedrooms are available, each delightful in their own way. The Moose room is on the main floor around the corner from the guest bathroom. The Whitetail Deer room is upstairs with a northern view of the forest and grounds. MOOSE ROOM: This main floor bedroom is named for the moose that enjoy relaxing in the pond and around the double waterfall. They love to roam the permimeter of the yard stripping leaves from certain favorite trees. There is even a set of mini moose antlers, found on the property (ask for details, its quite the story). The windows overlook the raised garden beds, raspberry patch, plus moose & bear murals. Peek out the windows frequently, as we never know what wildlife show will be there! You'll enjoy a peaceful night's rest with cushy memory foam atop the queen mattress which gives the bed a snuggly feel with nice support. Choose your favorite from a variety of pillows. Mirrored closet doors give the room a spacious feel. Extra chairs are useful for luggage or relaxing with friends or family. A selection of books is waiting to be discovered in the bookcase. WHITETAIL DEER ROOM: This upstairs bedroom is decorated with a white-tailed deer theme, in honor of our deer visitors. The window over the bed overlooks the northern grounds and forest, with views of towering cedar, pine, and tamarak trees filtering the mountains on a clear day. Peek out the windows frequently, as we never know what wildlife show will be there! Shhh, the deer can hear and smell you if windows are open, so be extra quiet if you want to watch longer. An assortment of group and family games is available above the bookcase. A card table and chairs can be set up in the living room or games can be played at the kitchen table. The supportive queen memory foam mattress and choice of pillows will help you enjoy your sleep in the quiet of the woods. Choose an adventure or story book from the book case and have a bedtime read by the light of the lamp. In order for guests to choose their own level of comfort, each guest room has independent heating or air conditioning units plus extra bedding in the dressers, as the seasons require.
We are tucked in the northwest corner of the beautiful Selle Valley, with views of the Selkirk Mountain range including Schweitzer Mountain. The property is studded with immense natural boulders. This peaceful area is easily accessible, with the entrance only one and a half miles from Highway 95. As they traverse the loop driveway, guests may view most of the 20 acres. The house is set about a third of a mile from the main road, making it a truly quiet location. Neighbors are only visible from the overlook.
  • LeeAnn and Kurt were amazing hosts! Everything felt so homely and inviting. Perks about being in the woods: Nearly every morning we saw deer. Plus the birds singing and their fountain made for such a relaxing experience. We also enjoyed going into downtown Sandpoint to catch their monthly Contra Dance. And if anyone is really into horses, Western Pleasure's is only 20 minutes away! We went there for a two hour ride and had a great time in the woods on horse back. Looking forward to enjoying another woodsy get away soon!

  • We had such a great time at Kurt and LeeAnn’s place. Loved everything about it, seriously! This was the perfect home base for all our Sandpoint adventures. It was easy to find, just about an hour and a half from the Spokane airport. The driveway was well maintained and we took our rental car right up with no problems. It was such a peaceful oasis after a crazy long day of traveling. The property is gorgeous! Fully wooded, adorable cabin, awesome firepit and picnic area, the most amazing views! The pictures don’t do it justice! Our little girls loved exploring the yard and woods! Our morning walks were one of my favorite parts. We saw deer, grouse, bunnies, and hawks and then picked fresh raspberries on our way back. City Beach was so fun and LeeAnn made sure we knew where the best spot was. We did water activities each day and it was really helpful to have access to the washer and dryer. Be sure to ask about Grouse Creek. It’s a bit of a hike to get there but so worth it! There are tri-level pools with little rock falls and slides connecting each. So much fun! My kids have food allergies so we needed to be able to prepare most of our own meals. They were super accommodating and the kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. LeeAnn even helped us find an ice cream shop in Sandpoint with soy-free waffle cones! My kids were so excited! We’re already planning our trip for next year!

  • LeeAnn and Kurt are marvelous hosts. Our visit corresponded with the Thanksgiving Holiday. Though we were spending the day elsewhere, LeeAnn made sure we had homemade pie, as well. They looked after every comfort and we had a nice time visiting with them. Kurt's stone-work additions to the property are not to be missed.

    Barbara2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend staying with LeeAnn and Kurt - the house and area is beautiful and only a short drive to Sandpoint. We were made to feel at home and offered plenty of recommendations for places and things to do. We spent time at sandpoint beach, Schweitzer mountain and had a day trip to Montana!

    Leigh 2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We appreciate getting to know people very much via Airbnb. Anyway, Lee-Ann and Kurt have been truly exceptional in a very positive sense. The hospitality includes not only a very nice and creatively designed facility located in nature, very easily to feel at home. Our hosts obviously enjoyed to care for our needs and went with us more than a "second mile". If we could give 6 stars, we wouldn't´t hesitate to give them here. We will always remember the time of our peaceful stay in a very special way. Thank you so very much, Ann-Lee and Kurt, for the many unforgettable moments with you.

  • LeeAnn and Kurt are great host! They had a way of just making you feel like you were at home. Their home is absolutely beautiful and thriving with character. Kurt is a old stone mason and pulled off some pretty amazing work all over the property! LeeAnn is just wonderful and meshed well with my daughter. We had a great experience and would highly recommend a stay here. Its a great central point for tons of activities within a hour drive including silverwood!

Our other two airbnb listings are for the Purple yurt (furnished the same), and the Orange yurt with one single bed, and one bunk bed with a single on top and double below, plus a love seat (sleeps 4 max). When you stay, you may be the only guests on the property, or there may be other guests occupying the other yurts. Each yurt has its own cast-iron propane heater/fireplace for heat. And there is electricity and lighting. The main building has heat and air conditioning, and plenty of light for reading or socializing. We border national forest and overlook a beautiful mountain river. This is the last place before many miles of wild, mountain lakes and streams. There are no neighbors to hear or see, only an occasional howl of a coyote or whistle of the train off in the distance.
  • Amazing place! Relaxing atmosphere and a wonderful a yurt.

  • Best place to stay in the Sandpoint/Bonner's Ferry area! My girlfriend and I and our 1 year-old daughter stayed for 3 nights. Julie and Ed were wonderful hosts and the yurt village was exactly as we imagined it - a quiet, simple retreat that allowed us to unwind at night and fall asleep to the sounds of nature after spending our days exploring Sandpoint and the surrounding mountains. Ed supplied us with a great personalized map of the local trails, suggestions for local eateries and places to see the beauty of the region. It is a very nice bonus that the kitchen comes stocked with essentials - coffee, milk, juice, breakfast grains, etc. And you get to spend your time in the communal area looking at Julie's beautiful watercolors. Highly recommended.

  • Great place, friendly hosts.

    Tanya2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I came up to this property as a quick weekend escape from the city. We're avid campers/hikers, but we wanted something a little nicer than traditional camping (celebrating my wife's birthday) and Julie & Ed's property far exceeded any of our expectations! From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at peace. Right away, Ed pointed us toward some hiking trails that border the property and culminated with some spectacular views! There are also several popular federal land hikes close by, may we suggest Harrison Lake! Incredible! The yurts were fantastic! Like I mentioned, we are avid campers so a flat floor is fine for us, but if you're not a camper and kind of on the fence about sleeping in a yurt, DONT BE! I promise you, these yurts felt like hotel rooms in the middle of the woods! The beds were extremely comfortable and the cool mountain air made for a refreshing early morning as we prepped for our hike! We already told Julie and Ed we will be back, only next time we're bringing friends and booking all the yurts at once! Thanks for a fantastic weekend Julie and Ed! I just realized, I wrote this entire review and didn't even mention the homemade blueberry upside-down coffee cake. Well now I did...and I'll let your imagination run wild from there!

  • This is a not so small piece of spiritual heaven set high in the hills outside Sandpoint. If you are looking for a totally relaxing peaceful getaway this is your place. Upon arrival we were met by Julie and Ed and got an extensive tour of this wonderful retreat. The studio space with adjoining kitchen and bathrooms is a great place to relax. Although we had the whole place to ourselves, this would be a nice place to mingle, do yoga, make art or just sit and read the many books. The yurts are just a short walk from the studio. They are extremely comfortable with great beds, love seats, heaters, windows and skylights. There are outhouses close by if you don't want to do the 2 minute walk to your assigned bathroom in the studio, and the grounds have many benches, chairs and trails. For a spiritual retreat or just a great nights sleep this place is highly recommended.

  • We stayed in here in July, it was wonderful! Everything was very clean, peaceful, and well labeled/set up (making it very introvert friendly!) Julie & Ed were super nice and helpful, and had some great tips about the area. The yurt was cozy and comfortable, we throughly enjoyed our stay!

    Belinda2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful (albeit short!) stay at Ed and Julie's yurt. Wish we'd had more time! We stayed in the green yurt and loved it. The bed was very comfortable and the heater kept us nice and cozy. We didn't get to interact with Ed and Julie, but they were very communicative and left clear and organized instructions and information. The yurt was well maintained, the land is beautiful, and the shared common building and bathrooms had everything we needed and more. The town of Sandpoint is just 20 minutes away and we had a great dinner there and breakfast the following morning. Thanks for your hospitality!

    Megan2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation and its hosts are just amazing. Julie and Ed are welcoming, caring and warm. Their hospitality is amazing and definitely felt by every guest. The yurts, private bathrooms, kitchen and communal area's are top notch! Its clean, comfortable, private, beautiful and cozy. The nature surrounding the yurts is beautiful. We went for a lovely two hour walk with stunning views and in the morning I did my exercises on an outside platform with a wonderful view over the valley while enjoying the sun on my face. Julie made all her guests wonderful homemade snacks during our stay and the campfire at night was great! We only stayed one night and it made us complete relaxed....imagine staying here longer....we would have loved to stay a few more nights! We would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Experience paradise at Susan and Dave's homestead farm. Enjoy the luxury of a queen bed as well as the sounds of Nature while sleeping in this newly built wall tent. Ice cold Sand Creek runs through this 7 acre parcel located at the North end of the Selle Valley. 12 Miles North of Sandpoint and 10 mintutes from the base of Schweitzer Mountain, this rustic experience includes glamorous Wall Tent, covered deck, outhouse, hot/cold outdoor shower and cooking facility.
  • We had such a fun time staying in the wall tent at Dave's place. The bed was luxurious and we enjoyed our meals on the back deck. The space is rustic with many thoughtful amenities which make it a memorable experience. The farm is alive with animals and an incredible garden. Our son loved exploring and we appreciated the chance to get to know Dave and Susan. They are welcoming and generous hosts.

  • Loved David and Susan's glamping tent on their farm just outside of Sandpoint. The tent is large and well appointed with a complete camp kitchen and instant hot water for the dishwashing and outdoor shower station. The bed was super comfy and we heard elk, turkey, and chickens in the morning. Our dogs were welcome, we had fresh flowers and a bowl of farm treats, and best of all, Susan let us milk the goats! Highly recommended.

  • Susan and Dave have created a lovely spot on their beautiful property. The large tent is on a raised wooden platform with a deck/porch that is swell for counting stars, playing cards, reading a book, etc. The bed is comfy and the handmade buffet that is the kitchen is lovely and functional. The cool creek that runs through their farm provides a wonderfully refreshing dip on a hot day and the cheese Susan makes is fabulous. They greeted us with a bowl of tomatoes and fresh basil and offered up their large and highly productive garden for grazing. We very much enjoyed our stay in what felt like a hidden tree house and look forward to returning. Thank you!

  • Jack was the most gracious of hosts. He was in regular communication both before and during my stay, and available to answer any questions and make sure my needs were met. Prior to my arrival, Jack asked me what my needs were in the way of dry goods, and even offered to pick up any necessities at the store for me prior to my arrival since I would be driving from Seattle. He met me outside the rental when I arrived and took the time to let me know how everything worked and to make sure I felt right at home. I brought my dog with me and it was a wonderful environment for my very social dog, and he quickly became aquainted with both Jack's dog and one of the neighbors' dogs as well. Arrival was easy, departure was easy, and Jack was a great host. If I find myself in Sandpoint again, I know exactly where I plan to stay!

The DEER room is a private upstairs room at Keystone Mountain Retreat cabin with views of the Selkirk mountains and forest. Guests enjoy stunning wildlife murals, waterfalls & pond, picnic area with fire pit, garden beds and other hardscape created by stone artisan/owner of Keystone Masonry on 20 acres of forest. All of this is just a few miles north of Sandpoint. (For families, groups, or a private bathroom, reserve both rooms at https://www.airbnb.com/users/145420373/listings.)
This upstairs bedroom is decorated with a white-tailed deer theme, in honor of our deer visitors. The window over the bed overlooks the north grounds and forest, with views of towering cedar, pine, and tamarak trees filtering the mountains on a clear day. Peek out the windows frequently, as we never know what wildlife show will be there! Shhh, the deer can hear and smell you if windows are open, so be extra quiet if you want to watch longer. The memory foam mattress and choice of pillows will help you enjoy a comfortable night's rest in the quiet of the woods. Guests share a private bathroom with guests in the Moose room downstairs. The living room, kitchen, picnic area, fire pit, overlook and other grounds are also shared with the hosts and other guests.
  • LeeAnn and Kurt are great hosts, with many suggestions for things to do in the Sandpoint area. They recommended the Selkirk Loop (up into British Columbia) and it was wonderful! They are so friendly and helpful, and their home is peaceful and comfortable. The location is perfect for a northern trip - a secluded mountain retreat, but also convenient to Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, and only an hour to the Canadian border. We are return guests and we highly recommend our hosts and their beautiful home!

  • If you're looking for a northern mountain retreat and warm welcome, this is the place! Great vistas and a quiet, comfortable room. LeeAnn and Kurt are great hosts, and they have all the local info and attractions arranged in a folder.

  • LeeAnn and Kurt are two of the kindest people you'll ever meet. They love their home and it shows because it's completely beautiful and tranquil. The room was small but had everything I needed including an amazingly comfortable bed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This quaint cabin built in 1910 is located on a 170 acre farm on the US/Canadian boarder! Selkirk Mountains stretch as far as you can see. Enjoy water falls, hikes, fishing, kayaking, or paddle boarding at nearby lakes or on the Kootenai river, just 3 miles away. 15 minutes away, in Canada, is a movie theater, restaurants and shops. Maybe you want to sit, relax and soak in the beauty! The cabin has one very comfortable queen bed, a microwave and a coffee pot.
The cabin is tucked in at the base of pine trees, Douglas Fir, white birch trees and Larch. The only house you can see from the cabin is our farm house. The view from the porch overlooks our hay fields and when you look up, you'll see beautiful mountains. We are in a terrific location for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers! People who want to conquer the outdoors and people who want to soak it in should enjoy this spot immensely!
We have incredible neighbors wherever you turn! Very friendly! It's quiet.
  • Spectacular view, especially from the lookout spot up the nearby steep road. Comfortable little old farm house. Copper Falls is great.

  • If you are looking for a quiet place to recharge your batteries and fill your soul, this is the place! If you are looking for a quiet, I mean QUIET, you will find it here! Meg and family are amazing! We had tons of things to see. We drove all over, even sneaked a quick hike into Canada! We didn't miss any of our luxuries! Scrabble was enough! Yeah! I kicked Sean's tush! Amazing location, amazing host and hostess, love the baby doll sheep, and oh, you might see a turkey or two!

  • My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the quiet peaceful setting of this cute cabin! It's an older rustic structure but very clean and cozy, and honestly being a bit rustic just adds to the experience! Meg is an awesome host and I highly recommend this home!

  • This place is amazing! I had guests in town and rented the cabin along with the bunkhouse. They all loved it and said that they want to stay there again next time. Excellent hosts, spectacular views, very neat and comfortable cabin, relaxation at it's finest. Thanks for everything Meg!

  • This little cabin was perfect. Definitely a great place to relax and disconnect. Wonderful hosts were friendly and really happy to answer questions. They suggested a nearby mountain biking trail, and we felt comfortable talking to them with questions we had.

Directly on Moyie River; 1/2 mile from Eastport/ Kingsgate border crossing, grass down to water, lots of access to great outdoors for hunting, fishing, rafting, berries, general private getaway.
We like to rent for minimum of three days. There is Lots of privacy with the extra space of the unique cabin. The owner changes the beds from mattress up, refreshes pillows and puts on clean blankets, as well as a freshly laundered shower curtain every reservation. There is a organic garden of the owners, which they will share produce if desired. Many outdoor activities, lakes, rivers, floating, Copper Falls, fishing & hunting! Train passes slowly across the river , very occasionally toots it horn, letting border know they are continuing, rarely stops for long. Fun to read graffiti. General relaxation and fun. Several good restaurants in area within 5 miles and gas too! We give them the key, introduce them to the property, then the fun begins! Close to the National Forest, diverse wildlife. The waters are so clean and fresh . Nature in abundance ! car is needed. In winter best to have at least front wheel drive ( kept plowed) but if much snow 4x4 needed even though it is flat drive. Will allow pets

  • I can't say enough about how positive my experience was at the River Haven cabin. My wife and I were looking for the perfect place to get away and disconnect from the daily grind...get back to what's most important, the tranquility of nature (from the comfort of a cozy cabin in the woods). The River Haven cabin was the perfect destination for that. The cabin provided all the necessary amenities needed for two weeks on the river (note: no internet or cell service, which is what we were looking for!). The cabin is situated perfectly on a beautiful river with fishing, floating, hiking, lakes, rivers and falls close by. There's an out-building (the "Reflection Room") with a wood-fired stove, electricity and a cozy bed for those looking for a bit more isolation and a rustic option (no restroom available though). I used this space to write music, paint and read as it is even more secluded from the main cabin, situated roughly 100 yds from the River cabin. Overall, we had a very positive experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the River Haven cabin for those looking to disconnect and reset from the daily grind. Lee and Charlie were amazing hosts and made sure our stay was top-notch! Great trip!

  • We have been going to the Moyie River for several years with our family and friends but had never stayed at Lee's place. We knew it would be enjoyable, but it was even better than we could have imagined. The house is very nice, comfortable, and has the most beautiful views from the bottom and top stories of the house. Lee is so easy to communicate and provided us with very helpful information from the moment we booked until the moment we checked out. Every one of us had the most incredible time and the house is perfectly located. We highly recommend Lee's place to anyone looking to enjoy the Moyie River.

  • Perfect getaway, worth every penny.

  • This cabin is perfect for a getaway. There is NO cell phone service until you're closer to Bonners Ferry; which is only 20-30 minutes away. But honestly who cares? It was nice to be phone free for 5 days. You get to connect with nature all around you, the train goes by like clock work but isn't a bother. We even saw the local deer and turkeys. And you can't forget the chipmunks that drove the dog nuts while we were there. Beds are clean and cozy. Shower is nice and warm, it was perfect.

  • Lee made the guests feel welcome. This is a great cabin for access to local fishing and it has a nice deck and great yard. The kitchen is well equipped for a cabin.

Even though Airbnb lists this property as being in Bonner’s Ferry it is not. It is 25 miles north of Bonner’s Ferry; and one mile from the Canadian border. This is a nice, rustic, very functional, but not fancy home (see photos). There are no neighbors and the views are really beautiful, so it is very peaceful and relaxing. Max. 10 people allowed. Owner: Beth and Mark Farrar
Lots of room in this house for people to spread out and have privacy, and lots of windows for beautiful views from every room.
No neighbors, view, backs to forestry land to the east. Property boundaries are: Hwy 1 to the west, trees on the north, road at the south, top of hill to the east.
  • What an awesome home with all the amenities!
