Just booked in Blyth

My place is close to The Ouseburn, Newcastle and Northumbria Universities, Newcastle Quayside and a seven minute walk into Newcastle City Centre where there is an abundance of; parks, art and culture, restaurants and dining. It is also a short drive to blue flag rated beautiful beaches.. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
  • A great location for visiting our son at Newcastle uni. Everything we needed and we felt very welcome. The parking permit was a great bonus - thank you.

  • This is a clean, warm and comfortable apartment where we felt very much at home. It has everything you'll need. Although we never actually met Saz, her communication was brilliant and always very helpful. We only stayed one night but would not hesitate to return for a longer stay at some point in the future. Helpfully, a parking permit is provided so you can park right at the door as we did. We arrived a bit early to drop off our bags and we were met by a very cheerful and helpful cleaning lady. If you like walking, it's an easy walk into the shops or down to the quayside. We walked to the Sage in Gateshead which took less than 30 minutes. All in all, a very positive and enjoyable experience.

  • A nice and cosy apartment. Very close to city center within walking distance. Also close to supermarket.

  • Great stay at this appartment. The house was very spacious, clean and had a great ambiance. Lots of amenities to make our stay very comfortable. Good location and the host was very helpful. Thank you Saz and Anthony

  • Good location! 3 mins walk to Tesco express where you can get food and drink:)

    Vicky2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place was absolutely fantastic, very centrally located and perfect for our needs as we has a gig to attend at the Cluny in Ouseburn. Situated in a residential area there was enough space for three and the place was spotless and well stocked with towels and tea and coffee making facilities. All in all a great place to stay for a city break in Newcastle!

    Brad2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really good location for the city centre and the Biscuit Factory. Parking wasn't a problem and you can walk down to the quayside in about 15 mins. Place was very clean and has everything you need for a self catering stay. Would definitely stay again.

  • Billy's place is both spacious and clean, with comfy beds, sofa and a massive TV. Nice place to relax after a day's work. Billy and his wife are really sweet too. I hope to stay again soon.

  • Another great stay and everything was as good as our visit in October and again Billy and Gill were excellent hosts.

    Carole2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay and very well equipped. Shame we weren't there longer

    Sarah2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Gill and Billy were fantastic hosts. They made us feel welcome from the start and helped us in doing genealogy research, answering questions that we had about the area and attractions, and helping us with little requests. The house was exactly as described. It was clean and furnished with all our needs. The trampoline was a big hit with my daughter. Very comfortable. The house was located a sort walking distance from where we could buy groceries, go to restaurants and enjoy the area. The people that we met in Blyth are fantastic- friendly and warm. Also- Gill makes a fantastic cake;)

    Laura2016-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Welcoming and go out their way to make things easier for guests. Would go again when I'm in the area. A++

  • Billy and Gill were very accommodating. They went above and beyond what they needed to do as hosts. It was a very nice apartment. We would stay with Billy and Gill again.

The Foxes Den has a quirky, refreshing, interior, not like your usual caravan. Using up-cycled, mid-century furniture to create a cosy bohemian space it's a great little getaway for a romantic week for a couple with beautiful coastline walks or a family holiday choosing to use the onsite entertainment centre or do it your own way. Beaches mere steps away and a quaint river view. There are more photos to follow in mid Aug 2017 as I have been doing-up the place.
The entertainment centre is far enough away from my little bolt hole that you can completely ignore it if you want too. If you do prefer to use it there are charges for passes to use the pool and entertainment. I can arrange these for you on request. There is an onsite launderette, children's play park, small convenience shop, fish and chip shop and a small amusements centre you can use without a pass.
Nearby by foot - Newbiggin-by-the-Sea (seaside town), beach and river walk. Nearby by car - Alnwick Castle, Seaside towns of Warkworth, Amble and inland the market towns of Morpeth and Rothbury. If you like shopping or a good night out then Newcastle City centre is only half an hour on a bus or 15mins in a car and for indoor shopping there is the Metro Centre 20mins by car in Gateshead. There are also many cinemas nearby.
  • Perfect bijoux bolt holt so close to the beach. I had a fantastic time with my children 14 and 10 exploring the Northumberland coast and having cosy evenings in the cottage inspired van - which we all fell in love with.

    Jenny2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The way Melanie has transformed the interior of the static caravan with her quirky "vintage" vision to be a lovely cosy, happy space is amazing- I left feeling inspired! The view from the front window is lovely. It's literally a minute from the beach. This is a great place to go with a family- the space works well for adults and children. The kids swam in the pool and used to arcade. The camp site has good amenities and is quiet at night and in the morning and felt friendly and safe. Excellent value for money. We'd love to go again.

    Vicky2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie's van is lush. A real gem of a relaxed cosy getaway in beautiful surroundings. Excellent views of the sunset over the river mouth from the van, gin in hand... We went during term time and it was very peaceful, except for the over zealous grass cutting one morning! The van is well equipped and beautifully personalised. The shower also deserves a mention as it's better than many we've used in houses! The bed is also really comfy and I slept well which is rare when away from home. We'd definitely recommend the van and Melanie, though we didn't meet her, seems lovely. We'll be back :)

    Chantal2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The caravan of Melanie is really lovely, cosy and clean. We had a good time there and the communication with Melanie was perfect. We would definitely come again.

  • Aidan was friendly and very helpful regarding parking when I arrived. Just be aware that you staying over a pub, which Aidan makes clear in his listing information. I stayed mid week and all goes quiet at twelve O'clock. The Tavern was both central and convenient for my stay in Blyth. Cheers.

  • Had a great Stay at the tavern, the room was modern clean and spacious. Great Value for money would definitely stay again!

    Robbie2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • My recent one night stay at The Tavern B&B was excellent and great value for money. I was greeted on arrival by the General Manager who showed me around 'The Tavern' Pub and then upstairs to the newly refurbished B&B. My room was a large double room with a king size bed with large freeview TV and internet access via the TV. The rooms were spotless. The independent shower rooms & wc located opposite my room were also very clean and tide. The downstair pub was also a very clean modernised pub with very friendly bar staff. I spent the night in the company of the bar staff and friendly locals. After a few pints of draft IPA's and some food I enjoyed a very peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast was served from the upstairs breakfast bar at my leisure consisting of fresh continental breakfast of fruit, bread, cereals tea and coffee. All in all the was a well run B&B, very clean and tide with an excellent level of service and extremely good value for money. I work as a contractor and look forward to returning to the Tavern the next time I'm due to work in the area.

    Mark2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Never judge a book by its cover. The Tavern is in the process of renovation. Saw the new grill area and it's going to be great. Ian and his staff are a friendly welcoming group. They absolutely made me feel at home. Was there on a Saturday night and caught the band. Had a blast with the regulars.

    George2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is neat and clean, with helpful and friendly staff. Free parking on the road and beach nearby.

  • Highly recommend if group of u - we had all 6 rooms - 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets to share which is ok if you all know each other - Aiden was a great host

    Jason 2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional value for money. The room was clean and warm. The shared toilet and shower facilities are very good and the breakfast and tea/coffee availability is an added bonus for the price paid. Aiden was a very good host and happy to help with anything needed. The wifi wasn't working but I'm assured this issue will be resolved soon. I would highly recommend The Tavern and I shall be staying again soon.

Bedlington is a small market town in Northumberland. There are several Chinese/Indian/fish and chip shops locally, most of which home deliver. There are a few places to eat and public houses, chemists, flower shops and a couple of small supermarkets. The house is in a quiet road near to the woods and country park.
  • What a wonderful host! Melinda was super friendly and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. Cup of tea and a homemade brownie, who can complain! We had a choice of two rooms, both of which were lovely, we opted for the garden view. The room is tastefully decorated, super comfortable and clean. We chose to stay in for the evening and Melinda kindly opened up her living room to us, we were too comfy in bed but lovely to have the option. There was a large choice for breakfast; cereal, toast and crumpets. It was just what we needed and with a 25 min journey to Newcastle town it was in a lovely location too! Thank you very much, if we come up that way again we will be sure to stop by.

    Jenni2016-06-13T00:00:00Z

  • A lovely and clean house. Melinda is very warm and welcoming.

    Daryl2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Melinda was a great host. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived later in the evening than we had promised, but she made no fuss about that and even offered us snacks/drinks. Throughout our whole stay, she was friendly as can be, and gave us many useful tips on where and how to go around the countryside, as well as on practical things such as where to order food from (which, in fact, she ordered for us)! She was a very friendly and, at the same time, an unobtrusive hostess, always ready to help when necessary. The accommodation was fantastic - comfortable, spacious and spotless - and the atmosphere very relaxed and easygoing. The location is great for anyone wishing to both explore North Cumberland and have a cosy stay-in place where to do that from. Wholeheartedly recommended!

  • Melvyn and his wife are fantastic hosts, going out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. The place was spotless on arrival and the sheets were fresh, we felt right at home. It would be a great place for families as the park is a stone's throw away, as is the main center with Nightlife, bar, pool and shop. The beach is AMAZING and is only a few feet away, and three park is very close to several towns and the main coastal road incase you wanted to explore our needed anything at all. We loved our stay here, loved the beaches and exploring the region and we would come back if we had the opportunity.

  • Nicest caravan we have stayed in - spacious, warm, with quality furniture and fittings. Beds were really comfy. Everything we needed was kindly provided. There was a playground on site for children and the beach was lovely. Melvyn was really friendly and was there to greet us with the kettle on!

    hema2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great caravan, very spacious, full of everything we needed and great host. Melvyn was a delight to book with - great communication and even arrived with a pack of fresh grapes for our two little girls. Thank you!

    Kirsty2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 4 nights here with my 2 young daughters. Melvyn replied promptly to queries and was flexible about the time we could check in and out. The caravan was as described, with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. There was tea, coffee and milk when we arrived. The playground was very near, and the beach 2 mins walk across the caravan park. There are lots of great places to explore within 30 mins drive. Thank you. We would definately stay again.

    Bridie2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The caravan was great and Melvyn was very helpful. He also told is a lot about the historic sites worth visiting in the area which was awesome. The caravan is exactly as described and is very comfortable and warm. Only downside and I must stress this is not in Melvyns control. The entertainment coming from the holiday club is loud and the bass can be felt vibrating. It does go on late approx midnight. Now we had 2 small children and it didn't effect their sleep. It just a bit annoying if you decide to read a book in the evening. Apart from that the caravan is perfect for a relaxing holiday and a great homebase for travellers wanting to visit ruins and museums. The beach is great for kids as there is a huge amount of rock pools and when the tide is out the kids loved searching for crabs and other sea creatures. Sandy bay beach is one of the nicest beaches in the north east.

    Joe2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great caravan in a good caravan site. Very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Melvyn was quick to reply to my messages and check in/out was seamless. Caravan had central heating throughout and even had an ensuite toilet in the master bedroom. Shower was powerful and warm. Campsite itself was better than we were expecting given some reviews on other websites. Entertainment team were brilliant!! Swimming pool, restaurant and bar were all clean and we had a pleasant experience in all areas. We bought entertainment passes from site reception for a reasonable price too. Only thing I would say is...pack your wellies as the grass was very wet and muddy on site and no footpath to avoid this. Overall a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend to others.

    Jenni2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Melvyn is a great host. He is happy to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is perfect. The caravan is well maintained and full equipped. We travelled with our toddler and the stay was made so much easier with the addition of a high chair and travel cot. The site can be a little noisy at night but this will not impact on the enjoyment of your stay. We would definitely stay again.

  • We had a great time at your place! Thank you for your hospitality and time. We would definitely recommend your place. Lovely atmosphere and lot of charming details make it a pleasure to stay. The house is fully equipped and there is a grossery store just around the corner and a great bakery for fresh bread and scones every morning. There are many nice restaurant's very close : we ate at Italian place (tasty and not expensive) and kebab place (also great!) Sea is amazing and beautiful and a lot to do in the neighborhood : castles, musea, national parks, shopping cities. Thank you for the great time!

  • Any closer to the sea and I would have been sleeping on the beach. Being lulled to sleep and woken by the lapping shore was blissful. Wayne has done an excellent job of designing the space that really makes the property airy and certainly larger than I had expected. Kitchen space was superb, comfortable seating in the lounge with suitable lighting for some late night knitting. Dining area also great and the swing seat outside became a favourite spot during our time. The item I was most impressed with was the inclusion of 4 sets of USB plug ports. Absolutely ideal if items require charging. It really is a wonderful place as a base for the rest of Northumberland although the Maritime Museum and Bertorelli Ice Cream Parlour is certainly worth at least one visit. Book in, kick back and relax.

  • We had a great time. A perfect base to explore Northumberland. The house is fantastic. Highly recommended

    Boo2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable house, well equipped and great wood burning stove. Finished to a high standard and very quiet which means a good nights sleep! A good place to stay if you plan on sight seeing/exploring the surrounding area - not sure there is so much to do right on the door step i.e. in the local town. Wayne is very responsive to any requests or questions.

    Johnny2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Seaview cottage was a decent place to stay for our first trip to Northumberland. The house itself was well furnished and spacious. There was a decent chippy, Curry house and Butchers which we used during our stay. The only negative was the beach had a restriction on dogs during the summer months so we had a fair walk to let our dogs off the lead. Wayne was great at messaging us before and during our stay. All in all I would recommend seaview cottage for anybody wanting a place to stay whilst visiting Northumberland.

  • We had a lovely time in the cottage and Wayne was always available, very communicative and responsive to any questions. Lovely cottage with very well designed interior. Great location, just a stone's throw from the sea. Would definitely recommend for a couple or family.

  • Thank you for a great stay in a wonderful location. Ideal as a base to explore the North East. Nicely refurbished and very well equipped. Hard to find a property closer to the sea being only a stones throw away from the beach.

  • My friend and I stayed here with two 5 year olds and two 2 year olds. The accommodation was perfect, there was everything that we needed (and much, much more). The house was extremely clean and the street was lovely and quiet (the neighbours always had a smile and a nod hello as well) The beach is a 2 minute walk away with playparks at either end. The kids had a great time! Newbiggin is lovely and I highly recommend a visit, and I definitely recommend staying at Paul and Melanie's place. My friend and I will definitely be back!

  • Great location, 2 mins from the beach and shops/eateries within walking distance. Couldn't fault a thing, would highly recommend a visit if in the area. House was spotless and very comfortable in a quiet residential area.

  • Good location and quiet. Beach nearby for good walks. Could be a problem for people with difficult mobility as bathroom downstairs. Fantastic kitchen. everything you need is there.

  • I have stayed at Pauls on two occasions now. The house is spot on and good value for money.

    Kyle2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was an excellent base to explore the Northumberland coastline. It was well equipped in quiet street just around the corner from a local shop and only a couple of minutes walk from the beach. It had everything we needed for us and our baby. We were generally able to park on the street right outside the front door. It was unfortunate that the internet wasn't working on our visit, Paul did try to get it fixed but it was out his in control in the internet provider's hands. This didn't spoil our stay at all as the 4G reception in the house was very good.

    Catherine2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Well placed for exploring the east coast. A lovely house with outdoor space to eat alfresco. No parking issues and well equipped throughout. We loved it.

Just 200 yards to the promenade and fabulous beach. This lovely bright terraced holiday home is on the main drive way through Newbiggin-by-the-sea and is an ideal base to explore the sights of Northumberland.
Our cottage is light, bright, clean and comfortable and hopefully has everything you might need for your stay. Although situated on the main road into the town it isn't particularly busy and very quiet once inside. There is also a secure yard at the back for pets or sitting out if it is nice enough. It is also a hop and skip away from one of the nicest beaches in the area - My dog loves her walks on that beach whatever the weather!
Newbiggin is an up and coming small town with a brand new beach and maritime centre. There are a small selection of cafes, shops and everyone we have met there is very friendly. There are lots of plans for re-development around the area - so there will be new buildings / shops / apartments being developed as we speak. Nearby Morpeth is more established with a wider selection of shops, restaurants and cafes. The Northumberland coast and national parks are within easy driving distance and you can just follow the coast road (A189) all the way up the coast stopping off along the way. Alnwick, Warkworth, Amble are all very popular. If you want a bit of city life then Newcastle city centre and the metro centre are about 30 minutes away if you can't go away without some retail therapy. We have taxied in and out of Newcastle for a night out before and there is a good bus route which goes from the road outside the house. We also love Ponteland for a night out which is nearer than Newcastle - near the airport and love a night at YoLo, Branches, Fratellis and the local pub!
  • Very welcoming host, excellent communication and accurate listing. A lovely house that even exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort, cleanliness and quality. A highly recommended house and host overall :)

  • This is a lovely cottage and exactly as it looks in the photos, a brilliant location with the beach a few minutes walk away and good access to main roads if you want to venture further afield. All in all a great stay and I can't recommend enough!

    Aileen2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is bright, warm and very welcoming. The owners have gone to great lengths with the decor with some lovely nautical themed items. It is very comfortable and ideal for a family of four. There are local shops within easy walking distance including stores, restaurants and take aways. The very clean and open dog friendly beach is literally a few hundred yards away making it ideal for early morning walks overseen by Newbiggin's famous "Couple"! The location is also ideal for exploring Northumberland, both the coast and inland. And yet, if needed, the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants of Newcastle are only a few minutes away. All in all, a great location for a great holiday.

We have a 1yr old and the house was fully equipped with stair gate, highchair and travel cot, not to mention a surprising box of toys. Great for a family getaway and the lovely bottle of wine on arrive was a nice touch, thank you.

  • The B&B is located in a quiet spot overlooking a large bay. It is a very good base for discovering the local area including Seaton Delavel Hall. Anita was made aware that I follow a gluten free diet and there was nothing that she provided that I could not eat. The accommodation was very pleasant and my wife and I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Anita was the perfect host. Very welcoming and the whole stay was very comfortable especially the double bed. The full English breakfast was outstanding and set me up for the day. On my arrival I went to buy some fish and chips from the local Chippy. On my return I found that they had forgotten to put the chips in. Instead of going back Anita went into her garden, dug up some potatoes and quickly made me some chips. Outstanding service and very thoughtful. Thank you for a lovely stay. Andrew

You will have your own room with TV and private bathroom. We will provide you with a healthy breakfast - fruit, cereal, yoghurt and home made bread / toast.
Our house is in Cramlington, 20 minutes from Newcastle Upon Tyne city centre, 4 miles from the coast and 20 miles into the heart of the hills and wilds of Northumberland. Cramlington is well served by public transport which runs regularly into the centre of Newcastle and to main routes in Northumberland. With a car in under 1 hour you can reach many attractions including Hardrian's Wall, Durham, Holy Island and Bamburgh Alnwick- where films featuring Harry Potter & Kevin Costner's Robin Hood were filmed. Castles, beaches, spectacular walks and wild landscapes lie within an hour - while the Metro Centre and Newcastle are there for those who prefer shopping. The recently constructed art work 'Northumberlandia' is only 3 miles away with the Angel of the North 20 minutes drive. Several restaurants, pubs, a cinema and main shops are a short distance away. Local cycle paths and parks can be accessed from the house. Cramlington was established as a 'new town' with pedestrian / cycle routes avoiding roads and linking all parts of the town with it's village heart and town centre. Sheila and Martin look forward to welcoming you to our home and being available, if required, to direct you to local attractions, walks, fitness activities and other areas of interest that may help enrich your stay.
Cramlington is a quiet and safe place to live. Great for those who want to work on their fitness. Then enjoy a choice of local restaurants, pubs, a Cinema - all within 5-25 minutes walk
  • We enjoyed our stay - Martin and Sheila were very welcoming and we found we had a number of interests in common. Room was comfy, clean and very quiet. The neighbourhood was also quiet and well-kept. The garden was stunning.

  • Martin and Sheila made us feel so welcome and from the moment we met it felt like we had known them for years! The room was exactly as the photos on website and the area was very suburban with easy walking/cycle paths. There was a Pub only 5 minutes walk away which was good for an evening meal. Martin was in communication well before our arrival and nothing was a problem for either of them. Martin even walked us to the bus stop so we caught the right bus into town.

  • I love the touches that Bobby and (mainly) Katya have added to the house and the room. It's really thoughtful little touches like thinking about the fact you will generate rubbish with the breakfast and providing a little bin. Everything about the house gives the sense of what a loving couple and family you have which is lovely to see. The beach is just stunning, the town is a little run down but everyone we met was really nice and friendly.

  • Very friendly and generous hosts, Newbiggin by the sea is small, charming and even more beautiful than the pictures show ! We had a lovely, relaxing time here away from the city, the sea views from Bobby's house were stunning, it is very close to the beach and the nautical themed bedroom was so sweet ! Would thoroughly recommend to anyone as a place to stay :) x

  • Received a very warm welcome upon arrival from the hosts. The room we were provided with was extremely clean and well kept, and the listed photos did not do their beautiful home justice. We were particularly enamoured with the spectacular view from the house which opened up directly onto the beach front. We were given access to the computer, kitchen facilities and just about everything else one might need as well as being provided with breakfast in the morning. As for the hosts themselves, they were extremely welcoming, easy going and friendly. We were made to feel very at home and we would definitely consider going back in the future. • The room was exactly what I needed for my stay in Newcastle. The location near the river for a morning walk was perfect. And the Anglers Arms is very pleasant! Margaret was very welcoming and offered much good advice about where to go and how to find places. Recommended to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay.

  • Beautifully clean, quiet and comfortable. Margaret is a very welcoming host who made me feel at home right away. She literally went the extra mile by coming to meet me when I got lost on arrival .. no sat nav and I hadn't written down the directions properly!I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

  • I had a really great experience staying at this AirBnB. Margaret will definitely be a super-host in no time. She went over and above to make sure I was comfortable - took me for groceries, picked me up at the bus stop, dropped me at the train station, gave me extra pillow, looked up bus and times for me, and let me do laundry. She always made me feel welcome in her home and gave me space for food in the fridge and let me use her kitchen to cook myself healthier meals. She and her family were really laid back and I never felt awkward going about my business and we had some nice conversations. I enjoyed their company. The place was clean, cozy and safe. I had access to my own bathroom which no one else used. The bedroom was exactly as described and I also got a big fluffy bathrobe to wear. The location was perfect for me as I had a short bus ride to the place I was working. I didn't get to go do any fun things so I can't comment on the proximity to attractions but there was lots of green space within walking distance. There was also at least one pub and a couple of grocery stores within walking distance. I would highly recommend staying at Margaret's place if you are in the area.

  • Margaret gives a great welcome and freedom to feel at home. Everything clean and as described. In my experience, Margaret goes the extra mile for her guests. The glass of red wine & Frangelico tasting over a chat in the evening were an unexpected bonus. I followed her advice to check out the Druridge Country Park and it is indeed beautiful. • My partner and I were excited to stay at Ian and Anita's place, as it looked lovely, and was our first time using Airbnb. The house exceeded our expectations! It's in a beautiful, and quiet area, with lovely views. It was very spacious, and has been decorated and furnished very tastefully. Ian and Anita live next door, but were not intrusive at all. They are a lovely couple - very warm and friendly, and were on hand in case we needed anything. Wish we could've stayed for longer! Thank you Ian and Anita! Guy and Jen.
