  • After staying at Andrew's place, I wouldn't ever stay in another place in Preston. It was gorgeous. I slept so comfortably in the huge bed. There were tons of thoughtful touches like a charger for all of your different electronic items, a mini fridge with everything you need in it and a delicious breakfast all laid out. It was so quiet and very private. Thank you Andrew!

    Rachel2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with everything you need and a gracious host. Looks great in pics and even better in real life. Definitely would book again :-)

  • I've never used Air Bnb before so I was a bit unsure of what to expect, but this room was lovely - a lot bigger than it looks on the pictures with lovely decor, plus an en suite with a really powerful shower. The bed is super comfy and the big TV is equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need. Easy to find, and close walking distance to all shops, train station and UCLan. My hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast hamper was a lovely addition. Cannot recommend enough, thank you!

    Ellie2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The host is a nice gentleman. He is helpful. Especially thanks for him to wait for me until the mid-night because the late arrival of the train. The room is well decorated and cozy. You can feel the host's passion to life from the settings. So I strongly recommend this room to others.

  • I was only hear for a brief overnight stay. I arrived to be met by Andrew who was very welcoming and showed me to my room. The room was clean, bed comfy and had everything I needed and more. I was up and out in the morning after a glass of fresh orange from the in room fridge and a quick shower. The stay was exactly what I needed and on the doorstep for my early start the next day. If I'm in the area again j would stay here for sure.

  • Andrew's place is lovely and he is great host -- friendly and accessible but also gives you your space. I loved that the room had a lot of conveniences (kettle & breakfast things, microwave, fridge etc.) organized in a small space and that it didn't feel at all cluttered. It's a short walk from the center of town, nice restaurants and gardens and also very close to the beautiful Avenham Park and nature reserve. Great walking right at your doorstep. Highly recommend.

One of two rooms available in the house. Staying at Abbey Mill, which was originally part of the corn mill, offers an authentic village experience. A grade two listed building originally forming part of the mill offices, is situated in the heart of the village. Local restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The bus station is a 1 minute walk away with the train station being 4 minutes. The front door is on the right hand side of the cobbled road leading to the Mews.

When J.R.R Tolkien first set foot in Ribble Valley in the 1940's he uncovered a landscape of wide, rippling rivers, deep wooded conifer groves and misty green Lancashire countryside and he never looked back. The Ribble Valley became his inspiration for 'Middle Earth', for the places he visited and their names often found their way into the famous Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Positioned in the ageless landscape of rural Lancashire, this area remains relatively unexplored, the majority of which forms part of the Forest of Bowland.
  • The best place we stayed in with regards to hospitality, design and comfort. Amazing couple, people we would be seeing again (if they would have us). The breakfast was higher than professional standards and area is lovely and lots to do near-by.

  • Whalley, or Wall-e as they seem to say is an interesting place. And I cant imagine there's a better base to explore it from. Absolutely fantastic hosts who made me feel very welcome, not to mention a comfy bed and a big room. A fantastic B and B.

    david2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place with the most hospitable couple and adorable dog. I could not recommend this stay highly enough and cannot wait to return. Loved Eleanor's home made muesli as well.

    Tracey2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had a truly wonderful stay at Eleanor and Leigh's beautiful home in Whalley and I can't thank them enough for their kindness and warm welcome. The room was clean, spacious and brightly decorated - there was tea-making facilities, TV, a fabulous private en suite, and the bed was so comfortable I curled up and napped within minutes! The house is perfectly situated for those exploring the local areas (Stonyhurst, Clitheroe Castle, Whalley Abbey) with the bus and train stations located within 5-10 minute walking distance each. Eleanor is the best Air B n B host I have encountered - she has such a warm and friendly personality and her attention to detail is amazing (those Bakewell slices were delicious!). Ele makes you feel not only like a special guest as soon as you walk in the front door, but like an old friend or another member of the family. Breakfast was delicious and the couple's local knowledge is fantastic. Highly recommended. Thank you!

    Desiree2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had the honor of being Eleanor's first guest in Airbnb. It was an absolute pleasure!! She welcomed me in her very beautiful house, in a side street very close to central King Street. She offered me to park my car at her parking, but I did not need to as I found parking in Kings street very close by. As I checked in, she showed me around the house and my room, which as a very comfortable place with a super soft and comfy double bed and a private toilet. I had a kettle, tea and coffee and a botle of water in the room as well. Then she offered me a glass of Prosecco and delicious food, and we started a very interesting conversation about life and travels in the kitchen! It was lovely meeting her, such an inspiring woman. I would recommend anyone to stay with her! You'll have a great time there and the area is very beautiful as well. I went to bed that night very grateful and happy for being there. It is a bit more expensive of what I usually pay for, but it is totally worth it. She also offered me a great breakfast the following morning! Thank you Eleanor! See you in Barcelona or Perú! :)

    Laura2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem of a place, Eleanor' home is simply beautiful, both Eleanor and Lee made us feel very very welcome from the moment we arrived, to our departure. The house is set in a stunning location within the village. The home inside has crisp clean lines, stunning furniture, everything has had the upmost attention to detail paid to it. The room was so relaxing, super comfy double bed with all you need for a peaceful and blissful stay. We certainly will be heading back in the future.

    Peter2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most wonderful night's stay in Ele's stunning home. Its was so comfortable, incredibly beautiful with a delicious breakfast! The location was perfect in Whalley which is well worth a visit. Ele was a very warm welcoming host and it was a delight to meet her. She even walked with me back to the train station to show me another part of the town with the most fascinating historical buildings. My only regret was that I didn't stay for longer.

    Sarah2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eleanor and Leigh's place is gorgeous - exactly as described and as other guests have said. In an ideal location, with interesting bars/shops very close. The house is stylish, the welcome genuine and like a home from home. First rate communication and even gave us a lift the next morning to our car parked a couple of miles away! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Stunning private room in a modern unoccupied apartment (set up in a Hotel Style), located in the heart of Preston City Centre - just 30m from the High Street! Decorated to a very high standard, with FREE Wifi, and modern appliances including an iMac, TV, and Tea / Coffee making facilities. 5 min walk from the train & bus station, 10 mins from the Uni, very secure and ready to go! Free on street parking from 18:30 - 8am, with 24 hr car parks available at the bottom of the street.
A stunning room - decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with modern facilities including an iMac, TV, Dab Radio, Iron and Ironing board plus tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is incredible, with a large bath and rainfall type shower. The room also has triple glazed windows to minimise outside noise. Ideally located just off the high street, it is literally 5 minutes walk to the Train and bus station, and is perfect for shoppers, or people visiting the University or Guildhall. (uni is 10 mins walk, Guildhall is less than 2!) Please Note: This room is located on the 1st floor so is away from the street, and is accessible by stairs.
Literally 30 metres from the High Street, located on a side street with local bars, shops, restaurants and transport links! The host also owns the local pub just down the road, so you get discounted meals throughout your stay! There are 2 nightclubs and a traditional English pub on this street (nightclubs are open Friday and Saturday night) so there is potential for noise. However we do offer triple glazed windows and earplugs for light sleepers, although normally it hasn't been a problem at all.
  • Ideally located in the city centre. Everything is on your door step. Good host would recommend

  • Great place, fantastic shower. Lovely room. Spot on location for all shops and services. Really lovely hosts and we would stay again definitely.

  • This is a great place to stay. It's just off the main city centre high street and less than 2 minutes walk to get to the Guild Hall and Harris Museum. The booking was smooth and Andrew is very quick to rely to any queries. On arrival, Andrew met us outside and showed me how to use the keys and the security features and also where to park overnight. The room was lovely and spacious. A large iMac and desk for work was excellent. A widescreen TV with Apple TV, Netflix and Now TV and BBC iPlayer already loaded and ready to go. There was also tea making facilities and water. The bathroom is clean and modern right next to the room with an excellent rainfall type shower head. No complaints. Andrew pays attention to detail. There was a stand alone radio alarm, ear plugs and pens and pencils if needed a well as a complimentary set of towels. Checkout was easy by just leaving the key in the room. I would recommend the nearby car park for secure parking overnight as well at only £4.80 for 12 hours!! A great experience and would definitely use again.

  • Warm and welcoming hosts, set in a beautiful location

  • It's difficult to add to all previous reviews. We can confirm though that this is as good as these reviews suggest! Beautiful house, Elly and Leigh are great hosts, brilliant breakfast. Whally itself is Well worth a visit too. All around great stay, we highly recommend this place!

    Inge2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Words really can't do this place justice. Beautifully decorated with wonderful art and curios and spotlessly clean. The room is a very comfy double bed on a mezzanine with tea and coffee making facilities. Eleanor is a very warm host who provided us with a delicious breakfast and interesting conversation. We weren't familiar with the area but staying in this lovely house with such a welcoming host was a fantastic introduction. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

    Anna2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Can confirm that what reads like hyperbole in previous reviews is really true. We booked at the last minute and Eleanor was about as accommodating, helpful and friendly as it's possible to be. The actual place is seriously nice - large rooms, nice decor (you can tell when someone's well-travelled...). As a previous resident of Whalley, I can say that, if you're looking for a base of operations to explore the surrounding area(s), you won't do much better than this. Thanks for a lovely - if short - stay, Eleanor.

  • We were four friends doing a long distance cycling tour. Eleanor was a wonderful host! Comfy beds in a nice secluded section of the house. Incredible bathroom. Well situated for exploring Walley. Also secure bike storage. And the breakfast was huge and delicious! Cannot recommend more!

    James2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Eleanor and Leigh are fantastic hosts with a lovely home. I would highly recommend staying here! The room was cosy, comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome. Wonderful breakfast too!

  • Although I didnt end up staying, the hosts were lovely, thoughtful and kind-hearted with great communication.

Self contained guest apartment in a beautiful area which is attached to the main house, you will have total privacy here and your own entrance. Double bed with all the amenities and your very own fully furnished kitchen, shower room and lounge. Close to Clitheroe, Barrow Ford, Ribble Valley, The lakes, TheTolkien Walk, Fantastic Local Walks, Pendle Hill, amazing local pubs and great towns.
  • What an wonderful place. Not only are you encompassed by the stunning landscape surrounding Fence (Pendle Hill among other attractions, is just "around the corner" with a few miles away) but most important of all - you are literally in the arms of such an amazing, caring family, ensuring all is 100% well for your stay. ------------------- That I found Delfina's / Mark's place here - was my sheer luck. Arriving a late Sunday afternoon – just to find that Delfina even had ensured to fill the fridge & I shouldn't struggle finding the nearest supermarket, says everything. ------------------ Being in charge for an environmental project in Clitheroe "24/7" over 2 months +...this was the perfect place to retract in the late evenings / reflecting over the days’ work done & preparing for the next. Several were the times where I was invited to join a wonderful lunch or dinner in the weekend, prepared by master chef Delfina. For business or leisure / for short or long duration. I can only give my warmest recommendations to book & stay here – if you are in this corner of Lancashire. Sincerely, Niels Stigsen

  • Welcome and pre visit comms excellent. Room is superb. Loved the little extras to make my stay easy and enjoyable. particularly enough stuff available for breakfast.

  • The property was every bit as lovely as described online, a real home from home, including a most generous welcome pack indeed! Very clean and comfortable, lots of soft towels and fresh linen, hosts checking for my every need. Quiet location with parking and with a handy village store just around the corner. Delfina and Mark are truly wonderful hosts - kind, warm and friendly. Excellent customer service, nothing was too much trouble. My daughter came down to visit me whilst I was there and they even managed to find space to park her car there too. I would definitely recommend staying here without hesitation.

  • Delfina was welcoming and happy to leave us to do our own thing. We enjoyed having our own separate space - which was really roomy - and being able to make breakfast from the food in the fridge. We are very happy to recommend and return again.

This was our daughter flat which she has now vacated in favour of her own home. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave & gas/electric cooker with a good sized dining area. Free WiFi and TV/DVD player available.
Billington lies between Blackburn & Clitheroe close to Whalley in the beautiful Ribble Valley area of Lancashire. Quiet, rural yet within easy reach of bigger towns like Blackburn, Manchester.
  • Helen was an excellent host and very welcoming. There was plenty of room and the bed was comfy. Helen made sure we had everything we needed, and had even left a few extras we weren't expecting to make our stay even better. We'd definitely go back if we were in the area and would recommend it to others!

    Thea2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely experience staying at Helen's apartment. Despite only staying for one night we were made to feel welcome and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Helen

    Amy2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed one night at Helen and Phil's lovely, private self contained flatlet. It was peaceful, clean, light and bright with a beautiful view of Pendle from the upstairs living room. Everything was in order! Bread, eggs and coffee for breakfast. Whalley, which is a lovely village with shops, cafes/restaurants and the amazing Whalley Abbey ruins is a scenic short 20 min walk away along the viaduct across the River Calder and into Whalley. I can definitely recommend and would love to return. Thanks Helen and Phil for making me feel welcome and all the directions.

    mary2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • My first Airbnb experience was first class and Helen made my son and myself very welcome. The accommodation was exactly as described and was immaculate and I would definitely be going back if I'm back in the area.

  • Lovely place to stay - Helen was very helpful and even washed our cycling gear - she made us feel very at home.

  • Excellent mini house totally self contained and split level with a fab balcony mezzanine; sofa and tv up there and a lovely quiet bedroom and mini kitchen downstairs. Bath and shower really good and the whole place was immaculate and clean. Bread eggs and milk nice touch! Kind and friendly host most accommodating. We had a relaxed time and could have stayed longer for sure. View out to Pendle hill and a few mins to walks. Will be back! Thanks

    Chris2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and Phil were fantastic hosts from start to finish. I arrived very late but that wasn't a problem. The apartment was great and a great location. I will be staying again. Thanks guys!

    Dan2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and Phil's lovely annex is a real find, perfect for two people with warm friendly hosts who are next door when you need help otherwise completely unobtrusive. Everything was neat and clean, a welcome sanctuary after a long drive, with a generously stocked the kitchen of basic needs to get us started, bread, butter, eggs, milk, tea and coffee as well as some nice little pots of Tiptree jam and what tasted like homemade jam and marmalade. The bed was very comfortable and the blackout curtains in the bedroom meant we weren't awakened by the early summer dawn. We hope to stay with you again and again and will recommend you to anyone who needs a marvelous place to stay in the area.

Stunning private room in a modern unoccupied apartment (set up in a Hotel Style), located in the heart of Preston City Centre - just 30m from the High Street! Decorated to a very high standard, with FREE Wifi, and modern appliances including a DAB Radio, HDTV, and Tea / Coffee making facilities. 5 min walk from the train & bus station, 10 mins from the Uni, very secure and ready to go! Free on street parking from 18:30 - 8am, with 24 hr car parks available at the bottom of the street.
A stunning room - decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with modern facilities including a HDTV, DAB Radio, Iron and Ironing board plus tea and coffee making facilities.
  • Greta location, right on the high street seconds from the pubs and bars. Clean, easy access and discrete. Great room facilities and the bathroom was clean and pleasant. One thing - club over the road at weekends IS very loud and the triple glazing does not keep it out - the supplied earplugs work very well!

The Shepherds hut is a small, cosy hut next door to our free range hens and ducks. It is very basic, with no running water (toilets and sinks are in a nearby out-building, but we have no showering facilities as of yet) The hut is very well insulated so is easy to heat up to tasty temperatures, and their is also a wood burning stove and an electric heater (for those not into lighting fires) which gets the hut super warm nice and quickly.
The Shepherd's hut provides a comfy double bed which will be made up with bedding and blankets on your arrival. Other facilities include a fold out table hidden under the main table and chairs which can be used inside or carried out onto the spacious veranda so you can easily work indoors in the cosy hut or outside under the shade of the trees should the weather be sunny. The hut also has a woodburning stove for cooking and heating, an electric heater for instant cosyness if you don't want to bother with the fire and two side boards with cooking utensils and crockery including a microwave, cool box, storage container for water and a small kettle. The cabin is basic with only one double plug socket. There is no running water - there is a large container of water in the hut for you and more water can be found close by along with toileting facilities. The Shepherds hut provides the perfect simple get away for those on a limited budget wanting to get away from it all and live the simple life.
You've hens and ducks for neighbors. Within a 15 minute walk we have a lovely local italian, Ana Capri, and with 30 minutes walk an Indian restaurant and a British pub all of which serve great food. Our local pub, the robin hood, serves free cheese and crackers on Fridays from 5.30pm. Its a dog friendly pub and has 2 fire places which are usually lit during the winter months. The locals are friendly, they will want to know who you are so do chat with them!
  • Dot made us very welcome. The Shepherds hut is as described - basic but clean, comfortable and so peaceful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful; lots of lovely walks yet very close to all amenities. Dot was on hand if there was anything we needed, but didn't impose on our privacy.

    Carl2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. When you're there it feels remote but it is only a short walk to the village with a local shop and restaurant and a short drive to major cities. Dot popped over to make sure everything was OK but apart from that it felt like I only shared the space with chickens and cows so for anyone wanting to escape the rat race for a day or two it's a perfect location.

  • Had a lovely two day break at this lovely cottage. The location is superb and Lorraine was extremely good at communicating and was accommodating with an early check in which saved us lots of waiting around. The place is lovely and clean and is really homely. The bed is comfy and the kitchen and lounge has everything you need for a great stay. There are lots of cosy finishing touches and we particularly appreciated the dvd collection for a cosy night in. The garden is beautiful. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • Me & my wife stayed for two Nights. We were looked to relax on our weekend stay. We were able to do just that. Lorraine had a great set of DVD collection. We put the fire on in the evening & enjoyed dinner & movies. During the day Lorraine was very helpful showing us some walks by. Very scenic and beautiful village. A lovely home that feels like a home from home. Very comfy bed. Great neighbourhood. If you're looking to relax and wind down, this is a perfect stay. Lorraine and her son Dan are very sweet & go out their way to help you. We would like to go again.

  • This was a lovely little cottage & in a perfect location for a walking holiday. We were out in the hills everyday which was wonderful. It was clean, comfortable & well equipped. Lorraine & Dan were really helpful, suggesting places to visit & were available to answer any queries that we had. Being in a very rural location was fabulous but there is no mobile phone signal in the cottage. The internet was helpful in this regard (although temperamental). The sofa bed being in the kitchen did not allow for any privacy & I chose to take the mattress into the living room to sleep, this worked well for me. Thanks Lorraine & Dan for being so welcoming & making our stay so easy. All the best Linda & Urtha

  • Patrick and Seth are very understandable for our very late arrival( which is 1 am due to the traffic accident), the room is really decent and elegant, Patrick has a great taste for interior design. The breakfast is fabulous with fresh breads, porridge, jam, coffee and tea. We also had some tasty home made cupcakes. One of my best airbnb experience.

  • Absolutely stunning apartment in a beautifully converted mill. The location was perfect for our wedding weekend away & the apartment was a brilliant base for our daughter's grandma & aunt to babysit her while we partied until the early hours. There's a Lidl across the road for all your essentials & plenty of restaurant & takeaway options nearby. The block even has its own convenience store in the basement - which was really handy. Oves was a charming host & went above & beyond the call of duty to sort out a taxi for us & accommodate our needs. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a lovely stay x

    Ruth2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very well located - about 10 minutes from the M6 and easy walking distance to the main shopping area of Preston. We drove into Blackpool both days we stayed and it only took 30 - 35 minutes to get into the heart of Blackpool. The main living area was very spacious and light. The balcony bedroom didn't work so well for us as we had a baby sleeping in this room with us. This meant we had to keep the lighting in the living area low and the TV volume barely audible. This certainly would not be an issue if you have older children or adults only use the apartment. If we need accommodation again in this area we would definitely consider this apartment.

    Campbell2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. Huge ceiling open plan living space. Had sun shine into room throughout day. Great facilities and a retro PlayStation 2 to play. Very good host. If staying in Preston again will look to book again

    Rudi2016-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great "home base" from which to explore York, Manchester, Liverpool, and the Lake District (provided you have a car). A LiDL grocery/sundry store is right across the street with a good selection of food and drink, and we also found a few essential electronic accessories at the Alam shop close by - both within a 5-minute walk. Although we saw people coming in and out of the main entrance (in the back), we didn't see anyone else on our floor or in nearby apartments, which, like the others, was enormous. This could be a pro or a con, depending on your preferences. The flat was very quiet, save for some street noise coming from the open windows. The flat offered everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

  • The apartment was great for my short stay in Preston. Close to the city and a Lidl just across the road meant any emergency shopping and entertainment is not hard to find. Oves was a great host, very easy to communicate with and would definitely recommend him and the apartment to anyone deciding on where to stay in Preston.

  • It was very stuffy and hot within the house and the odour was unbearable... It was my first and perhaps last air bnb experience... No complaints for the host... He was very good but this stay had really put us off..

    Priyal2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very roomy and perfect location and parking was never an issue. Oves is a lovley gentleman; the perfect host.

    Christine2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were a party of 5 (4 Adults and 1 toddler . We had no issues spotting the house and the check in process was all smooth. The host was there to welcome us and gave us few tips for sightseeing. All the amenities as promised were provided. WIfi was good. Apt location while you are at city or if you are sightseeing around the lakes or lancaster or blackpool. Lidl is just opposite and Aldi and few other shops just across the road. We had good indian restaurants just mins away. So location was very apt for us. Just few drawbacks, the mill compound itself looks old with the corridors and interiors with old building odors. The odors were inside the house too, partly because we have to keep the windows open to have air circulation else it can be too hot and stuffy during summer. Fans could have helped. There was no shower over the bath (also shown in their pic). with kids around, a hand shower in the bath could have helped. Since we did not stay during the day (as we were sightseeing most of the day), did not face much problem.

  • Sarah was the perfect host, very friendly and made you feel like one of the family. The location was excellent for a 25 min commute to the macron stadium. Parking was easy right outside the property and a nice pub two mins walk away. Would definitely recommend staying again if in the area for business. A wonderful first Airbnb experience, 5 stars Sarah

  • I stayed at Sarah's place for one night and Sarah was the loveliest and friendliest host I could have imagined. She was very helpflul and here home was very cute, clean and lovely. The house is in the suburbs of Bolton, so you have to take the train from Bolton Station. As the train just takes 8 minutes, the location is still alright. There are some shops and supermarkets near Sarah's place. I definitely recommend Sarah's place and Sarah as a host.

  • A charming cottage. Lovely and warm and welcoming. The decor is original - lovely fabrics and furnishings - and it all worked well. It's a small, but perfectly formed and workable kitchen with all the tools you need to prepare a meal. The wine and other bits were welcome, particularly the free-range eggs and cake. Always good after a long drive. Trisha was very helpful and supportive when I had a day when everything went wrong. A big thank you.

    Sue2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best places I have stayed at! So central to the town, everything was in walking distance, Trisha (the host) was a treat to do business with, understanding, caring, I cant say enough nice things about our interactions. I would highly recommend this place to everyone and cant wait to stay there again.

    Fraser2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage in a great location. Some nice thoughtful additions from the host Trisha, such as breakfast items. Trisha was great at communicating, all in all we had a great time at her cottage and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

    Paul2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • On arriving at the cottage we where very kindly greated, and then given a full tour off the property. The cottage it's self is lovely and finished to the highest standard. Trisha was kind enough to provide us with the essentials such as tea, coffee, milk bread and eggs etc which was a lovely touch. We had such a wonderful time staying at the cottage it was a very comfortable and relaxing environment. I would highly reccomend Trisha's place to anyone needing accommodation in the area. We will certainly visit again.

My place is in the heart of the village, we are in walking distance of the cafe, farm shop and pubs. A short car journey will take you to near by towns such as Clitheroe and Garstang. A great spot for walking and visiting attractions in the Ribble Valley.. You’ll love my place because of the peace and quiet of the location and the cosiness of the little cottage. Sit down with a good book (or glass of wine), cook a romantic meal or simply just relax in front of the TV after a busy day walking.
  • Such a lovely little cottage! Very stylish, clean & tidy, Alison has thought of everything and was really nice, she waited up for me to arrive to show me around, even though I arrived really late and had said she'd just leave the key, and made me a cup of tea. Great not to arrive to an empty place, alone late at night! Had a lovely little terrace out the back too.

    Niqi2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • excellent cottage in a lovely location. we did not know the area, but chipping is a delightful village with lovely pubs, local produce, walks and food. the cosy cottage was excellent. two bedrooms and a double and single bed. all necessary equipment in the house with great access to local fells; walk straight from the door. An unreserved recommendation for a get away, and good value for money.

    Tom2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Cosy Cottage. Allison was the perfect host, ensuring we had all the information and local tips (takeaways, taxi numbers and walk routes) we needed in advance and over the weekend. Her communication was warm and she was available as we needed her. The cottage itself is perfect - modern and warm, with a personal touch and good taste throughout. We had no mobile phone reception at all over the weekend but the cottage has WiFi and so we used this for any external communication. Its also quite nice to be cut off for a few days! We had our dog with us and enjoyed some beautiful walks around Chipping. We made good use of the local cafe which is no more than a 5min walk from the cottage and the farm shop to go home with armfuls of local cheese! We arrived later than planned and Allison was so obliging and understanding. As we arrived late we relied on a takeaway as we had no supplies with us and all local shops were shut (we only started thinking about food at about 10pm) so it might be worth planning a little better than we did if you arrive late! All in all we had a lovely time and would highly recommend a visit. Thanks Allison and hope to see you again soon!

    Charlotte2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy Cottage is beautiful, it was perfect for us and if we weren't travelling home could've easily stayed for longer. The village of Chipping is very pretty and has everything you need - including a friendly pub called 'The Sun' I can not recommend the cottage highly enough or Allison for her quick responses to text messages and the ease of booking and key collecting.

    Kate2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We could not fault our experience at Cosy Cottage. It is located in an incredibly beautiful part of the county and the house itself is very charming. It's a lovely and comfortable place to stay. The house has great cooking facilities and a cosy living room with a fire, and the bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean when we arrived. Both during and before our stay, Allison was very helpful and seems like a lovely person, although sadly we didn't get a chance to meet her. This wasn't a problem as her daughter was really helpful too, and arranged how we would get in upon arrival. It's a lovely place particularly if you have a dog. There are many dog friendly pubs and there are stunning walks all around. Allison left us a brilliant book with descriptions of several walks in the area which we really enjoyed using. We really couldn't recommend Cosy Cottage enough!

    Joe2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chipping fantastic. Allison is an incredible host and her place matches that. Cosy sometimes gets confused with small but whilst we were cosy in the extreme there's plenty of room for everything you could possibly want for a quiet getaway. We loved it and we loved the area, we will be returning and definitely returning to Cosy Cottage. Allison recommended some fab places in local area. Thanks so much!!!

    Daniel2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Allison kept in touch with us throughout our stay to ensure that we were comfortable and happy. Unfortunately she was away and we didn't get to meet but we definitely intend to visit again, especially now we know that the cottage is doggy friendly! Chipping is a fair drive from Preston where we drove to each day, but that didn't matter to us.

    Jason2016-10-01T00:00:00Z

The owner even provisioned the fridge - very welcome after a long journey and provided a welcoming bottle of prosecco. We will return if we visit the area again. Highly recommended.

It is an easy walk into Whalley or there is a longer but more picturesque walk across the fields (speak to Phil). A great location for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. • An absolutely exceptional stay. Clive and Tricia offered us hospitality above and beyond all of my expectations of an Airbnb stay. Our stay was second to none and they have our highest recommendation. Lovely and engaging hosts, luxurious accommodation, great bed, exceptional hospitality. We look forward to staying with them again in future.

    Lucie2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clive, Tricia and Jake were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The room equivalent to a 5 star hotel and the attention to detail was second to none. The breakfasts were varied and as big as you liked, and my gluten free diet was catered for which was very much appreciated. We were very well looked after and enjoyed our stay, both Clive and Tricia have a fantastic sense of humour and personality. If you need somewhere to stay in that corner of the world you can book this with full confidence.

    karen2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Really amazing! Clive and Trish couldn't have been more welcoming hosts and their home was gorgeous! We were offered tea and cake on arrival and enjoyed chatting with them. Our ensuite room was beautifully decorated, spacious and spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need from different varieties of tea & coffee & cookies to dressing gowns and extra toiletries. Trish made us a gorgeous breakfast - full English, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, toast and more! We think you should create a new 6 star rating category just for Clive and Trish! We'll recommend you to everyone and will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The furniture can be arranged to provide an open space for dancing, yoga, meditation, group work or a meeting etc, or for socialising around the woodburner. The Clearview woodburner has an 8Kw output, and the whole building is fully insulated, so it's hot enough to keep you toasty warm even in prolonged sub zero temperatures. The small open plan kitchen has a 4 ring gas hob with a grill and not very powerful oven, fridge, microwave and a belfast sink with hot and cold water. A small double sofa bed is here for guests 9 and 10. ( Please note, although there are roller blinds to the windows, we can't stop the morning light shining through the central dome light which some people may find uncomfortable, especially in summer. We provide eye masks, or bring your own.) There are two folding tables, table cloth, and 12 folding chairs for indoor banquets. We have provided a list of numerous takeaways who will deliver for a small charge. We can also arrange to have a pop up restaurant arrive for a more culinary alternative. There is an additional outdoor composting toilet made from recycled materials with rainwater harvested hand wash sink and solar powered lighting. Outside there is a large potbellied stove and cushioned seating for your comfort. There is also a large banquetting table and benches along with a further covered seating area. An entrance leads to the lawn and decking area with more seating and outdoor furniture. There is a 15ft diameter yurt available, set up next to the Octagon ( Please note, the yurt is only available from mid April to mid October ) It is furnished with Turkish rug walls, a double bed and a wood burning stove. The price is £75 per night. We can also provide a large touring caravan that can sleep 4 in two rooms also for £75 a night. It has a toilet and room divider between the beds. Further into the site there is a Celtic ogham tree circle with central firepit (fire pit use by arrangement) for your magical ceremonies or simple tree and shrub identification! There's a trampoline and some toddler toys in a play space and a path round the woods. In Conifer Corner you will find the 'bed in a shed' available free to use if you book the yurt or caravan. It's for more hardy campers! ( bring your own bedding)
Accrington is an ancient settlement mentioned in the Doomsday book. During the industrial revolution large areas of terraced housing were built to house cotton workers which still gives the town its milltown character. For historical days out locally there is Helmshore textile museum, Clitheroe Castle, Houghton Tower, Salmesbury Hall and Townley Hall. For hysterical days out there is the Jumpworks trampoline venue. Holmes Mill brewery Clitheroe and outdoor zip line and other experiences at Outdoor Elements, Simonstone. For culture vultures there is Accrington's Haworth art gallery with its Tiffany glass. Footy fans can take a trip to see Accrington Stanley one of the founders of the football league. The town has late night pubs and clubs, and there is Grants Bar with its own micro brewery, and The Swan pub 10 minutes walk away at the bottom of Sandy Lane. Walkers can take the track up Sandy Lane and in 45 mins find yourself on the top of Celtic named Hambledon Hill with views across Lancashire to Blackpool tower on a clear day. For a quick stroll enter Tag Clough which locals call Bluebell Wood, an area of ancient woodland with a stream just 200m from our meadow. There is also the Coppice area, donated to Accrington, by Robert Peel founder of the police force, which has a network of footpaths leading to a monument with great views over the town and surrounding area.
  • Lovely secluded lodge!! Perfect for a secluded break away from it all. Hot tub is a definate must have!! Log fire was perfect, making the lodge warm and cosy. Lovely setting great for those who love walking! Thank you!

    Danielle2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Octagon is a charming accommodation that's ideal for larger gatherings or families. While secluded and set in acres of beautiful countryside, it's also a quick drive or shortish walk to Accrington, so handy for shops if you do find you need them. The facilities are excellent, with a powerful hot shower, comfy beds, wood burner, and fridge and oven, so you really have everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the layout, with french windows and skylight keeping it light and airy. The outdoor fire pit and seating are great for spending an evening with friends too. Ian was a very welcoming and accommodating host, and kept brilliant communication throughout. I would definitely recommend The Octagon and hopefully will return some day!

  • This was the most amazing get away for me and my boyfriend! Thank you so much! The hosts, Ian and Donna (and the kids!) were friendly and welcoming and kept my surprise party plans to themselves! I can't wait to return and can't recommend the Octagon enough! Go anytime as long as it's not a weekend that we're planning on going back!

  • Everything was hassle free; Ian was very prompt in replying to messages in the build up to the stay, and checking in was easy. The place itself is amazing; incredible that Ian built it in such a short period of time. A truly unique building that was very relaxing to stay in, helped by the accommodating nature of the hosts. The grounds the house is in are beautiful as well, so quiet and tranquil. A great trip

  • Ian & Donna made us feel very welcome, were very attentive and mad sure we got the best of this amazing place over a weekend of lovely weather!

  • The octagon was absolutely stunning - an amazing house, very cosy with lots of well thought out features and all necessary provisions. Extremely comfy beds and great shower. Plenty of space for 10 to sleep comfortably. Also lots of wood and cushions for sitting round the outside wood burner made for lovely evenings. The house is in gorgeous woodland with lots of nice touches. Ian was extremely helpful in picking us up from the station, explaining how everything worked, advice for those driving and making us feel very welcome. It was a birthday celebration and there was space to have a big dinner and a stereo and space for dancing afterwards. It was a perfect weekend in a truly magical location. Ian was extremely quick to respond and very easy to contact.

  • Ramblers retreat is a beautiful character cottage in the heart of Chipping village. We stayed as a couple, but the cottage would comfortably sleep 5. The house has been recently refurbished with new kitchen and furnishings throughout. Communication with the owners was quick and the check in and check out process was easy. Would recommend to anyone wanting a base to explore Lancashire

Quirky little annexe ready to let situated in Altham Lane, stones throw from the canal bridge and just minutes in the car from Pendle hill. Beautiful Annexe on the outskirts of the Ribble Valley and just six miles away from the historic town of Clitheroe. Perfect for searching for opulence. Beautiful view of Pendle hill! Perfect for couple who are looking to get away and spend time in the Ribble Valley or who want an alternative accommodation whilst visiting the Lake District!
The Annexe serves both as a bedroom and a sitting area. It has a double sofa bed in the room, and one fold out guest bed. There is a small but beautiful presented kitchen, and a shower cubicle and toilet. The accommodation is used by the owners as an office, and for family and friends.
  • A superb place to stay! Very lovely hosts! I think this is the best experience so far! Clean, comfy, private, light. Seriously, can not recommend that place highly enough!

  • It's a lively and quiet place, and also spacious. the decoration and the interiors are perfect. I enjoy my sleep there, and in the morning I enjoy the sunrise both in the farm and the canal, because the nature is so beautiful. it also perfect as a place to rest if you do the leeds liverpool canal cycling trip (as I did!).

Beautiful Georgian town house, city centre Preston location. Faded grandeur or shabby chic in style & decor. Artistic appeal! Only a few hundred metres to either city centre & shops, train centre & the stunning Avenham Park & River Ribble. Large front garden & rear sitting area/courtyard. House over 5 levels, one bedroom available. Fabulous house. We do have cats... & are vegan & vegetarian friendly....
Huge trampoline, trapeze, four bathrooms! Main double bedroom is ensuite with optional extra single bed. wifi included... We have other rooms available please check our other listings :-)
We love Preston, its very friendly. Here in Broadgate there is a lovely community feel. Our street West Cliff is predominatly old listed buildings, so there is an air of grandeur, albeit a little faded... we still have the original radiators in our house from the 1930s.....
  • Mary's house is spectacular and her and her daughter were brilliant hosts. Couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Loved the friendly cats too! Would definitely stay again.

  • Mary and her beautiful daughter were fabulous hosts. The breakfast they offered was increadible. The house is veeeery spacious, a little quirky, yes, but soooo tasteful arranged. Thanks a lot for the free passes for the local leisure center - had a great day there. We will be back :)

  • I couldn't have asked for more, during my recent stay in Preston. The house is beautiful, the room was well equipped (good internet, private bathroom) and I was very, very comfortable. Everything about this BnB was just what I had hoped for. When it comes to hospitality though, the experience went above and beyond what I expected. Mary and her daughter Ellie were really terrific, thoughtful hosts. I felt very welcome, and very well looked after – with advice on local parks and attractions to visit, a range of breakfast choices (included in the price) and helpful communication throughout my stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone in search of the true BnB experience. With so many buy-to-let properties dominating the AirBnB website, it's truly refreshing to find a genuine, welcoming, family-run bed and breakfast like this one. See you next time!
