Enjoy the experience and stay, where "Kanoi" family made a mark in the tea industry of India. Legacy of 5 generations, a heritage stay at the Colonial Bungalows surrounded by miles of Tea plantations, is truly an experience to cherish. Live & Learn.
The Tea Estates in Assam are one of a kind, the Bungalows are situated in between the tea plantations and gives one a true sense of being connected with nature. Tea is India's prime beverage and has the highest consumption also. See how one of the worlds best known beverages is grown and processed, along with being part of the family legacy. Spread over acres of land right in the middle of a tea estate, the stay is a wonderful feeling not to be missed. An estate passed down the family's five generations is now over a hundred years old, we make sure you have warm and comfortable stay.
Lush green tea plantations for miles around you. Mountains on the backdrop of the plantations just adds to the serenity of the place. Quiet, Fresh and Peaceful feeling, a good place to come relax, meditate, rejuvenate and de-stress from the city life. Enjoy catching up with some creative hobbies. Do self yoga and exercise as you escape the digital age.
  • We had relaxing time at Keshav's place. The tea estate is beautiful and the chance the to trail through the estate on bicycles was an experience we absolutely loved. The best part though was the hospitality and while Keshav himself was not available during our stay, his grandmother took the utmost care that all our needs are met. She accompanied us during food and tea and shared interesting stories around the history of the TE and the bungalow. The food was home cooked and delicious. You can request them for any particular dish and they will try their best to serve it to you. If you are travelling through this region, I'd suggest you definitely have a stopover at Keshav's place.

  • I have been traveling the world for over15 years now, and stay with Keshav at Sapoi tea estate qualifies as one of the most unforgettable travel experiences I've ever had. The house is nice and well-appointed, the food is delicious and the gardens surrounding the house are lush and awe-inspiring. Keshav is a great and attentive host and, above all, a compelling storyteller. I learned so much about the tea plantation and the issues of the industry as it moves into the modern era. Keshav is very generous with his time and even drove us around the estate one day. We hung on his every word during the tour! I'm on long-time coffee addict, so I wasn't sure how interesting a tea estate would be for me so I was very pleasantly surprised!!! I left the estate a few days ago, but I'm still savoring the memory and thinking about the stories Keshav told. Highly recommended!!!!

  • We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Keshav’s place. We started there on our mother daughter trip to the northeast. It was perfect to spend a couple of days surrounded by the tranquility and beauty of the tea garden. The hospitality was outstanding, and when my mother mentioned she liked pani puri and chaat, Keshav’s parents took the initiative to make some especially for her. Food was very good as well. We felt like a part of the family and definitely would recommend the place highly.

  • The Sapoi Tea Garden is a great get away from the hazzle of Indian cities. We like the quite atmosphere and the luxury of staying at a heritage estate. What made the stay a truly unique experience was Keshav's hospitality. He showed us the garden, the factory and was exceptionally helpful with our transport questions. In the end the stay was one of the richest experiences on our trip. Thank you, Keshav.

  • The bungalow is nestled amidst the tea estate ,the only noise you hear is the chirping of birds....food is awesome and great hospitality..nice place to getaway for a day or two away from the busy city life... Have alot of games like TT, darts, and a pool table to keep the guests occupied. A beautiful garden where we had our dinner and breakfast and just spent time relaxing. Overall a nice break

    Drjohn2019-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • I was travelling with a family group with ages ranging from 75+ to 23 and Keshavs place at Sapoi had something for them all. Getting up to bird calls in the morning, the calm stillness of the afternoons.... everything about the place relaxes the senses. The spacious house and the gardens around, though not luxurious, ooze old world charm. The icing on the cake though is the hospitality and though Keshav himself was travelling during our stay, his grandmother (still sprightly at 90) overwhelmed us with her attention to our every need and her charming conversation. Finally, the food...delicious homecooked fare using ingredients grown on the property and prepared with care ( my personal favourite was the plethora of pickles and chutneys on offer) Would recommend it to every traveller in these parts...it feels like a second home.

    Jay2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Do not think twice, just go for it. We loved the hospitality, the tour of the estate and the factory and home food. Keshav made sure everyone of us is comfortable and gets anything if required. There are so many activities on the property.

    Dewal2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • While the last 10 km to the place were a bit bumpy... once we arrived, this island of tranquillity was just what needed. Time stops at sapoi and keshav is a great host... very helpful .. very thoughtful and extremely polite. He is also an artist and that touch is visible throughout the property!

Ours is a home stay where it will be hosted by my family. We are located in the best possible neighborhood of Tezpur. We have a lot of hospitality experience so our guests would be very well looked after. Would be in a position to guide our guests for in bound traveling in the north east and also would be able to help them make arrangements. My home is in a totally serene & calm neighborhood.
  • Without a doubt the most beautiful travel stay our family has ever experienced. The location is perfect for travel in Tezpur city. Shraddha and her family treated us like her own. The homestay is extremely clean and beautiful. Highly recommended this one !!!

  • We stayed at her beautiful house for a day and it was one of the best stays of our entire trip. Her house is spacious, comfortable and homely. We'd just taken a gruelling sumo ride from Tawang to Tezpur and were exhausted beyond measure. She offered to provide dinner for us and sent a car to a nearby landmark to pick us up. We were so devoid of energy and she provided us with delicious home-cooked meals, gave us buckets to do our laundry and had great conversations with us. She's the sweetest host and more than anything, we genuinely feel like we've made a good friend.

  • Exceptional hospitality. The host and her family are very kind-hearted and caring people.

  • Shraddah welcomed us to her family like a mother with care and delicious food. She helped us organizing our trip and gave us very useful advice. All of her family members are very lovely people, which made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable. We will always look back to these 2 days with happy memories. :)

  • Shraddha is a very thoughtful and caring host. She will make you feel right at home. She’s always open for a conversation or useful tips about the city.

  • I am a frequent traveller who spends most of his time on the move across various countries, and Sapoi tea farms was one of my best stay and hospitality experience ever. The property-It’s insane, nestled inside tea country with 10kms of private tea gardens around you, it’s an idyllic piece of heaven. The last 20 minutes of the approach is quite bumpy, but it’s definitely worth it. There are bound to be a few bumps on the way to anything good right . The property is a colonial tea garden bungalow, with glimpses of history like a 200 year old dining table with hidden drawers, old rifles hanging from the living area walls. It has a lot of DIY touches like the DIY bed made of cinnamon wood, and lamps made of bamboo and ghee jars. If you are a zero waste kinda person you will love this place. The hosts- Keshav and Dadi are true superhosts. They go out of their way to take good care of you and make you feel at home. I felt that it's definitely not just business for them, they just host folks for fun to share the beautiful tea garden lifestyle with like minded people. And the food - ah... Every meal just "delicious"! Whatever outrageous request I had Keshav went out of his way to fulfill. Even before leaving Dadi wanted to pack some food for the way... In today's capatilistic world this place is a rare gem. The experiences- I personally went to Sapoi just to relax, and if you want to relax and forget your daily worries it's one of the best places. There are hammocks, swings and gazebos to chill and pizza ovens, BBQ and bonfires for fun gatherings. Oh and Keshav as a massage maestro "Mohan hi" on the call... I highly recommend you try his massages. However if you have a more activity filled time in mind keshav had a lot of suggestions - like taking a river boat to see dolphins, a walk through the tea factory, plant a tea plant and more. Kaziranga is roughly an hour an half away... It's a boutique niche experience for a wandering soul. Missing Sapoi already...Definitely gonna come back again...

Our home is located in the midst of a kiwi garden, about 4 kms away from the main town one can have a pleasant stay in the midst of Nature, one can also have a view of the sela peak clad with snow in a bright sunny winter. We provide all the basic amenities one requires while travelling and also help them educate about the place and people. We look forward to host our guests responsibly ❤
Our home is surrounded by kiwi plantations and one can also enjoy the beautiful scenery from the rooms . With all basic amenities available we try to host our guests responsibly and help them with informations of places.
With not many houses in this little village and with a population of just below 100 it's peaceful at night and you wake up to a beautiful morning..
  • Tashi's place is very clean, and has very good amenities compared to other places in Dirang I assume. Tashi was amazingly helpful to all the requests we made, weather it was providing special breakfast, or getting help in heating our food at any time of the day. Also, the place was very nice and warm in the cold weather.

  • First and foremost he has a spectacular place with amazing views and feel. The house is stylish with living area, bedroom and balcony. We were here during 31 and 1st where most of Dirang is out partying and everything is shut unlike mumbai, however the host went out of his way and asked his sisters to get us home cooked hot food and help us settle in. Even the next day we had super breakfast and the food tastes delicious. All in all, what a place!! I wish I could stay longer even two nights seemed less.. best part they have all the amenities gyser, Heater, TV, space for bonfire etc .. loved it, whenever I come back to Dirang I will only stay in here.. kudos to the host and his sisters ..

  • Beautiful home stay. Spacious room. A big thanks to Mr Tashi to let me pluck a Kiwi from his garden .

    Faiza2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tashi is a great host. He, his family and staff took care of everything we wanted. Tashi even accompanied us for the entire day to take us to beautiful places like Sangti Valley, Mandala, Monestary etc. He also arranged for local produces like Kiwis, Parssimon, Corn Flour etc and got them packed for us. The best part of our day was trek with Tashi from Hot Springs to our home through the hills which was a bit adventurous but a great experience. His home is most spacious accommodation which one cannot even imagine in that whole region. It was sparkling clean with great valley and sky views from the huge windows of the room and hall area. Even the bathroom was quite big with hot water for 24 hours. Food was simple but very hygienic prepared with organic stuff which was entirely managed by his sister. Location is great which was bit away from Dirang Town (fortunately since there is nothing in Dirang Town) amidst the Gonpalok village and adjacent to biggest property Norphel Retreat. The home is surrounded with plantations of Kiwis, parssimons, Oranges, Corns, pomegranates, Red Chillies, Walnuts etc. Though Tashi had a collection of books, there were not enough recreational activities for a longer stay. I suggest Tashi to add few ones like Carrom, Cards, Musical instruments and few outdoor activities like picnics at riverside, visits to farms etc. I sincerely thank Tashi and his team for a great stay and would definitely revisit the property very soon with my family or friends since Tashi has enough accommodation for even 15 persons.

  • Where do i start!! First of all they upgraded us to a lovely bigger room. As we had been here during really cold winters, the best part was having amenities such as gyser which gave out super hot water, microwave etc . The cook’s breakfast was sumptuous and her hospitality was too great.. she also had made us ginger tea on special request. Dinner we had to order in and was told that if we had informed them earlier, the cook could have made something. However there is a good restaurant just 1 minute walking distance, so that got sorted. All in all, lovely place with almost all amenities.. they also gave out a room for the driver free of charge.. lovely Host ..

It is a single room in an Assam Type house with shared bathroom and toilets. We are currently hosting solo male guests only. Located beside the NH15 and only at 200 meter distance from the Dekargaon Railway Station, it is easily approachable by road and train. The best part is it is located at a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
If you are looking for an Assamese style homestay in a semi-rural environment, Tezpur Homestay must be your preference, as it is located in a village beside the highway in a spacious compound with ample greenery and very welcoming locals.
  • Outstanding hospitality!

  • I booked this place as it was near to solmara cantt(Where I had some work). The place is more than what I expected. It's clean, spacious, laptop desk was big and extension cord available for your needs. A chair for laptop desk is there and a single sofa to sit. The bed is spacious for two big people. This is a private room adjoint to Bisajit sir home. He cooked me breakfast for 3 days of my saty as his family was not here. And he guided me to the local area where I can have my lunch and dinner. He picked up me from guwahati the day I arrived as he was there and it was a great gesture from him. Also, he dropped me at guwahati on my check out day as he too had work at guwahati. He saved me from boarding the bus (it takes 5 hours to reach via bus) from Guwahati/tezpur to Tezpur/guwahati on both occasion. This place is very near (opposite) to Dekargaon railway station and few kilometers from Tezpur airport. Autorickshaw's are frequently available and it can boarded infront of the house. Unfortunately I couldn't meet his parents. Hope I'll meet them when I come here again. A simple, clean and spacious room for people/travellers who wants to stay at Tezpur. The house is located on the main road and public transportation facility is available frequently.

  • Biswajit is a dream host! I felt like at home. His mom cooks an amazing food. He is a local patriot and he will give you lots of tips about traveling in Tezpur and Assam in general. Ask him about an organic tea plantation! :)

  • The homestay is very clean and well maintained. The warm welcome and hospitality grounded all of us which made us to come back and stay here for the second time. We stayed here for two days during the start of Tawang trip and while returning from Bomdila. Biswajit took us all over Tezpur even during night as we arrived in the evening. Overall the homestay is an outstanding place to stay for bachelors as well as for families. The place is still being developed and hope to see it become a full fledged hangout place for budgeted bagpackers.

The campsite is located beside River Kamen and located between three valleys. Evenings are moonlit and full of stars (subject to weather conditions). The cold winds at Dirang and the bonfire at the campsite make your stay memorable. At the campsite you will find tents with comfortable sleeping mattress and blankets. There are concrete toilets and bathroom facility available. Kitchen is also available but you have to place your food order in advance. Both non-veg and veg meals is available. The steep climbs at places and the cold wind make exploring the town by foot an experience in itself. The sun rays are up by 4:30AM and sun down is by 4:30 PM so be prepared for the shorter days around here. How to reach Dirang? 1. Guwahati to Bomdila: Take an overnight bus from Guwahati ISBT to Bomdila Bomdila to Dirang: Take a connecting ASTC government bus from Bomdila to Dirang 2. Hire a vehicle from us and reach directly to the campsite.
Apart from the river and valleys surrounding the campsite you can visit few local shops which serve Thukpas and Momos around the market area. You could also visit Shangti valley and stay at our luxury campsite there. The village people are friendly and welcoming. Do observe and respect the local traditions and culture of this place. Enjoy the experience and stay, where "Kanoi" family made a mark in the tea industry of India. Legacy of 5 generations, a heritage stay at the Colonial Bungalows surrounded by miles of Tea plantations, is truly an experience to cherish. Live & Learn.
The Tea Garden Bungalows are one of a kind. They are located in between the plantations and gives one a true sense of being connected with nature. Tea is India's prime beverage and have the highest consumption also. See how one the worlds best known beverages is grown and processed, along with being part of the family legacy. Spread over acres of land right in the middle of a tea estate, the stay is a wonderful feeling not to be missed. An estate passed down the family's five generations is now over a hundred years old, gives the stay a warm and comfortable feel.
  • After the grueling road leading to the farms the place is a Bliss like a lotus in the pond. The Hosts grandmother who stays on the premise cared for the family like her own. Had an awesome time at the farms with the walk around the tea farms and the factory really made the stay a memorable one. Highly Recommended.

  • Stumbled upon on Keshav's scenic Tea Estate listing as I was on a bike trip from Guwahati to Shergaon and wanted to make a stop along the way. Although a half an hour ride inside from the main road, the bungalow and its location makes you forget the outside for the duration of your stay. The only time you might want to step out would in-fact be to his tea estate and the factory where one can experience everything that goes into the making of a perfect Assam CTC Tea. Keshav himself stays on the other side of the property so is always available for any query and so is the bungalow staff. Simple and tasty home-cooked meals are available along with breakfast. Ample of space outside in the front garden to relax or at the back garden with a gazebo, campfire provision and also a clay oven for anyone to enjoy an outdoor meal. Cycles are at disposal to move around the estate. All in all an absolute bang for buck listing and exceeds every expectation you may ever have.

  • Sapoi Tea Estate is an absolute gem of a place with diamonds running the place. We were treated like family and had some lovely conversations with Pawan Uncle who despite owning a tea empire is extremely down to earth and helpful. Bike riding through the estate was a lot of fun as well as doing yoga on the tree house, where the views are spectacular by the way. There is a lot to do here and it’s also the perfect place to relax. Saving the best for last, the food made by enthusiastic chef, Dinesh is truly a highlight and we enjoyed every meal. Thank you all for your hospitality and hope to see you again in the future 😊

  • Wonderful stay at the Sapoi bungalow. We were shown around the house and estate by Keshav's father personally while his grandmother hosted us during the meals. Wonderful hospitality and great arrangements for entertainment including the game room etc. A special thank you to Keshav for hooking me up with a reliable car rental for my trip to Tawang.

The lodges are warm and comfortable, and there are lots of lovely staff to attend to your every need. They are happy to organise day excursions for you, and nothing is too great an ask. The food you are served each night is spectacular, and they are fantastic at accommodating any dietary requirements. I couldn’t recommend this place more, it truely is a slice of heaven!! Thanks so much for having us to stay, and I hope we come back one day.
