  • We enjoyed great weekend in this comfortable and cozy cottage set in its pleasant surroundings. Not to mention the magic walk down to the bay with the beach which is a must - no matter what the weather is. The cottage comes with the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a self-catering holiday let and Caroline's culinary goodies provide the icing on the cake. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Tom2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay - we had a perfect 3 night stay. Lovely homemade cakes and treats on arrival. Place was immaculate, beautiful surroundings. Caroline incredibly welcoming - would highly recommend.

  • Idyllic location and perfect for a get away. Walks on the coastal path and to the private beach are a must. The cottage was very comfortable and home baked goods delicious.

  • We had a great time, Caroline and Dan made us feel very wellcome. The estate is amazing. We went with our young son, and he had a great time finding rabbits, looking at the cows, and playing with the stones on the private beach (his ice-cream did get eaten by some sea-gulls, but you have to learn sometime!). The cottage was very cosy, and the kitchen perfect. The knife set is amazing, it's a small detail, but it makes a big difference when getting dinner ready. In the evenings, after getting our son down, myself and my wife just laid back in the deck chairs in the garden soaking in the evening sun, we would love to go back. We have stayed in a bunch of AirBnB places now, and so far this has been our favourite.

  • Had an amazing and relaxing stay, such a lovely estate and cottage, exactly what we needed! The cottage is well equipped and the homemade treats that were there when we arrived just topped it off! Caroline was very welcoming and helpful, thank you. The private beach is a real treat, a new walkway has been built which makes it easy to walk down to, well worth it! Can't fault anything, I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing break, it's close to lyme regis and bridport which were great for day visits going to the beach, local markets and shops!

    Kathryn2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a marvellous time at Caroline’s cottage! The place itself is bright, clean and provided all necessary amenities for cooking meals, etc. Caroline, as a host, is top rate. She welcomed me when I arrived and provided important information about local attractions, hikes, etc. As other guests have noted, she also left an incredible array of organic, homemade goodies, which were amazing. The surroundings of the Estate are beautiful and it is so close to the Coastal Path and a beautiful private beach. I will definitely be returning and telling friends about the cottage as well.

    Sara2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely lovely place! The listing simply doesn't do it justice - beautiful, peaceful surroundings and the perfect base to explore East Devon/West Dorset. The homemade, organic treats that welcomed us were an added bonus too. Would definitely go back!

    Daniel2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely time at the cottage. There is a nice walk to Lyme Regis (we went the other way to Seaton but would recommend the opposite direction) through some beautiful scenery. The cottage itself was great, getting back after a walk, putting the log fire on and cooking some food was very relaxing.

  • Great little place to stay within walking distance of Beer pubs, beach and walking trails. The Pod is well equipped, having pretty much everyhing needed as well as it's own little bathroom. Loved the mini-terrace right outside where I enjoyed many cups of tea! It's in a quiet residential area so I was able to sleep very soundly every night. I had family and friends staying in the Beer Head Caravan Park which was just a ten minute walk, the same time it takes to get into town. Louise was very friendly and replied promptly to any questions I had. Highly recommmended!

  • Zoe was super helpful in the run up to our stay and Brookside was the perfect spot for a family break by the seaside. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities you'd expect including a great kitchen. Some lovely touches around the house with games for the kids too. All in a brilliant location right on the quiet high street in Beer. Highly recommended.

  • We really enjoyed staying in Zoe's beautiful spacious home. The location was great.

    Sarah2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do this house justice, lovely big rooms, lovely decor, with thoughtful touches, the house has a really homely feel. The location of the house was perfect for restaurants, pubs and one of the prettiest walks we've every done. Zoe was very quick at responding and helpful through out the stay, we would love to go back in the summer! All in all a BIG 10/10 - Thank you Zoe for sharing your lovely house : )

  • Fabulous house in a great location, really stylish and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

    Andrea2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very spacious house in the middle of Beer, very close to the beach, great walks and with parking nearby (although not in front of the house). Had a great time, particularly appreciating the provisions for children in the form of colouring pencils and games! No DVD player, but didn't really need one ourselves. Highly recommended.

    Ilina2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful! My family really enjoyed staying and said they had a great sleep. Zoe left a box of crakers too which was a lovely touch.

    Katana2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house is centrally located and also really close to the beach. Beer is a lovely little seaside village and the house is surrounded by plenty of interesting and useful shops, as well as some great pubs and cafés. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you'd expect and more, including a selection of board games and a really well equipped kitchen with a washer/dryer (really handy for beach towels). Excellent communication from Zoe with very clear instructions on parking etc.

The dining room offers fantastic views whatever the weather - the whole place has been decorated to a high standard. A lovely place all round. The welcome drinks and nibbles were an unexpected but very welcomed gesture.

  • A fabulous apartment, perfect hosts and a wonderful location! It was everything we needed for a perfect family holiday. If you're looking for a modern, well equipped and exceptionally clean apartment, book it! On arrival, Peter had left us a bottle of Prosecco plus welcome drinks for our children. Fran and Peter greeted us later and provided us with lots of useful information about the sights and apartment. The apartment is located within walking distance of the beach, pubs and a lovely chip shop. It's also close to other attractions which you can drive to. Our children particularly enjoyed visiting the nearby donkey sanctuary, Lyme Regis and the beaches.

    Julie2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is an exceptional home in the lovely town of Beer! The apartment is very well decorated, clean and the bed and pillows were of high quality and very comfortable. Modern bathrooms and kitchen. The dining room offers panoramic views of the beautiful village and country side. Peter & Fran were very welcoming hosts and we appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine and drinks in the fridge. It is a 3 minute walk down the hill to the main street, the beach and the coastal path. I highly recommend this rental and hope to return some day!

    Helen2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's flat is absolutely beautiful. It is decorated to a very high standard and all the linen/ towels etc feel new and fresh. There is a wood burning stove which will be lovely in the winter and Peter left some welcome drinks, which were a nice surprise. The shower in the en-suite is amazing! Peter and Fran were also excellent hosts and could not have been more helpful. Our only comment would be that the kitchen lacks a bit of storage for food and does not have a dishwasher. This only bothered us as we were travelling with our baby, so we ate in more than we would otherwise have done. The kitchen is otherwise very well equipped, so if you're planning on trying out Beer's lovely restaurants then it shouldn't be an issue. All in all a lovely, relaxing stay in a peaceful environment. Thank you!

After explaining where everything is in the house, we were also given really useful info on what was available in the village and the surrounding area. We loved the location and how comfortable and well equipped the house is. The village is lovely and has plenty of facilities, the beach is great and only five minutes walk from the house. We loved our stay there.

Bosun's rest is superbly situated in the heart of the village of Beer, just 100 metres from the beach and even closer to the village pubs and shops. Whilst parking is at a premium in Beer, Bosun's Rest has the huge benefit of a double length drive, the use of which would be exclusively yours.
Please contact us to discuss prices which vary from £330 per week in winter to £800 in summer. Short break prices always available, just ask. More pricing details on our own 'Bosuns Rest Beer' website. Our changeover day is Friday, though short / weekend breaks will be considered.
  • Beer is a lovely place and this flat is in a great location, a couple of minutes from the beach. The conversion is new and everything is in good shape and very clean. The little balcony space outside the top bedroom is a really nice feature. Do be aware that they don't have Wifi and because of the lie of the land you may struggle to get much of a mobile phone signal. You can easily pop up the road for one of the free hotspots of course but don't bank on using your Spotify playlists in the flat! The four of us felt that the mattresses were a bit too soft but this is a personal thing. We are short so the room in the loft was fine for us but you might not agree if you are over 6 feet tall!

The Boat Shed has stunning views to the sea and countryside. Holidaymakers have use of the garden which looks over the South West Coast Path leading to Beer village and our beach hut (April to October). The village is just a ten minute walk away. More info can be found on our website thefollettsatbeer.
The Boat Shed is comfortable for a family, couples or friends as there are two bathrooms. There is a stunning view to Seaton from the master bedroom and the upstairs lounge looks over countryside and a field with horses. There is a dedicated patio to the side of the cottage for alfresco dining or drinks. There is also a seating area to the front of the cottage.
Beer village is on the Jurassic coast, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is one of the best villages to live according to The Sunday Times and has a beautiful bubbling brook that runs along the small high street. It is a working fishing village and you can buy fresh fish straight off the beach.
  • We had a great trip, cottage was lovely and Beer is beautiful.

  • Helen and Barry were great hosts and provided us with useful information and suggestions for the area, the cream tea welcome for all of us was much appreciated. The boat shed is a lovely place and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay, and more. The area itself is one of the most beautiful places in England and we will sure be back. Many thanks for an excellent stay!

  • Had a great three days stay at the Boat shed cottage. A lovely friendly welcome from Helen and Barry. The extra touch of the Devon Cream tea was delicious. The garden and views are stunning. Plenty of great walks in the surrounding area. Highly recommend this gorgeous cottage.

  • The incredible views to the sea and the stunning gardens are standouts, but my stay in The Boat Shed was made by the effort made to welcome me (cream tea!) and the helpful info shared about local attractions. Thanks to Helen's advice, I made time to scramble along the coastal path to Branscombe - a fabulous day out. And I could hunt for fossils in the area forever!

"Swift" is a wooden chalet on the beach in the lovely Devon village of Branscombe. Throw open the balcony doors and look out onto the ever-changing sea and the stunning coastline which is a World Heritage site and area of outstanding natural beauty.
A wood-clad chalet, sleeping 6 people. Accommodation consists of a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower over, living area opening onto a balcony overlooking the sea and two bedrooms: one with a double bed and another with twin beds and a bunk (all standard single size). A further sleeping space can be created by removing the back cushions from the bench seating in the living area ( this is slightly narrower than a standard single bed size). Duvets and pillows are provided but guests need to bring their own sheets, duvet covers, pillow slips, towels and tea towels. Outside the door a flight of wooden steps takes you straight down onto the beach and there is also a small grassy area to the side of the chalet where you can relax in the deckchairs (provided) and watch the sun go down.
Branscombe village winds for two miles (the longest village in England!) through lush wooded valleys down to a pebble beach which stretches for miles. Part of the Jurassic Coast, Branscombe beach is a World Heritage Site and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You have a choice of lovely walks around Branscombe: Walk along the beach or take the South West Coastal Path along the cliff tops with breath-taking views across the bay or through the luscious undercliff. There are also inland walks through wooded valleys and the rolling Devon hills. Stop at one of the village's two pubs for lunch or for a cream tea at The Old Bakery Tea Rooms, a charming thatched cottage and former bakery now run by the National Trust as a mini-museum and tea rooms/gardens. We always keep walk books at the chalet for guests to use for inspiration but really you can just step out of the chalet and pick your direction and you will find a beautiful walk. Please check tide times if you are going to be walking along the beach.
  • The beach cabin was amazing; just a few feet from the sea. We were there in Feb but it was warm and cosy inside with comfy beds. It's lovely how you can open the doors out to the balcony so it feels you are right on the beach. Two great pubs with great food up in the village. It was perfect a respite from the world.

  • Lovely, cozy beach front chalet. We had a great time exploring Branscombe and spending time playing on the rock beach. Well equipped, comfortable beds, compact and well organized rooms. GORGEOUS main space with large sliding doors that open up to the balcony. The whole place feels open and and airy and you can't beat the sound of the waves and the pristine views. Great communication from Beth and easy to check-in and get settled in.

    Jess2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely break in Beth's fab little chalet. The accommodation was as described and the location was stunning. The kitchen was basic but did not detract from our stay at all. We were especially impressed with the heating which kept us nice and cosy in December, and the shower was lovely and hot. Bacon sandwiches looking out to sea, beach combing after lunch, and sea fishing into the evening, what more can you ask for! We hope to come back very soon. One little tip, bring a head torch as the car is some 300 or so meters away over a field and it is pitch black!

Highcliffe Cottage is the ideal place for a relaxing comfortable stay. Quiet and romantic, it is a true country cottage by the sea with easy access to the beach and lovely cliff side walks to Beer. The atmosphere is cosy and enchanting.
Highcliffe Cottage Highcliffe Close Seaton Devon dates from 150 years ago and was a former coach house to the main mansion next door. Therefore it is an "old" cottage! I hope you understand what that means! Seaton and Axmouth is in fact an ancient Roman port with its beginning in the Phoenician times due to sea trading throughout the Mediterranean. There was a Roman villa in Seaton with an amazing mosaic which is still covered up (!) and the Seaton Roman Coin hoard which was only discovered a few years ago is now housed at a museum in Exeter. While not a Roman villa, Highcliffe has a spacious, peaceful, comfortable, relaxing and welcoming ambiance. On the ground floor there is a large living room with wood burning stove that leads into a dining area that opens into a fully equipped modern kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. Stairs lead up to a landing from which there are 2 double bedrooms, a smaller single room with a single and pull out bed, a bathroom with WC and a separate WC. Highcliffe comfortably sleeps six. It is surrounded by a very pretty mature garden with different areas in which to sit, eat and relax. You may even see the local Thrushes fossicking about in the trees and hedges and other birdlife too. There are sea views from different parts of the house and garden with stunning cliff views of Lyme Bay. There is also off street parking. The house is situated on the famous Jurassic Coast, a region of outstanding natural beauty and is a ten minute walk to the classic Victorian seaside town of Seaton and a 20 minute walk to classic Beer, real Enid Blyton territory. Shops abound including small, medium and large supermarkets, cafes and pubs, and great fish and chip shops too! It’s a perfect spot from which to explore the coast either by walking, bus or car and all the beautiful towns and villages in the surrounding area. You may even wish to catch a local tram to the inland villages of Colyford and Colyton. There are some marvellous surprises such as the pretty coastal village of Beer which is is 2 miles west of Seaton and the renowned River Cottage Restaurant near Axminster 5 miles north. The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis is 5 miles east which has the delicious Hix restaurant and the gracious town of Sidmouth is 8 miles west with its luxurious shops and Waitrose supermarket. The whole area has lovely local pubs and gardens, my favourite at the moment being Forde Abbey which is situated between Axminster and Chard, an old converted Cistercian monastery with its amazing architecture, beautiful semi formal gardens and wonderful fountain. The County Town of Exeter is a 30 minute drive away with access to Exeter Airport as well as local trains from the very pretty Axminster station to both London Waterloo and Exeter. A recent charming discovery is Mapperton Manor House near Beaminster in Dorset where Far from the Madding Crowd was recently filmed . It does a wonderful homemade morning tea , the house is very charming and the gardens full of topiary are exquisite. All very intimate and individual and unique. No National Trust crowds here. The ladies in the gift shop are full of charm and are extraordinarily helpful and polite . One of them is a local farmer, and if you are lucky she may show you her hand made twine! There is something for everyone at Seaton, ranging from the beautiful local beaches to shops, pubs, restaurants and extraordinarily charming local countryside. If you are somewhat of a raver you can visit the Smugglers bar in Seaton for a Karaoke Friday night ( most entertaining), or if you can wait till the Saturday night dance with locals ( all ages!!) to disco sounds of the sixties, seventies and eighties. Now there's an experience for you! Don't forget to pop into the very informative Jurassic Centre ( but please note this is not a Hollywood style Jurrassic Park experience ) or hop on the local tram and glide through the local wetlands discovering a real twitcher's paradise. If you want to go further afield, Dartmoor is only an hour's drive away with its dramatic scenery, but there is much to do and see in and around Seaton too. You may wish to simply relax at the cottage, go for a walk along the sea front, pop into one of my favourite cafes, for example at Seaton Hole and experience good food and hospitality or just sit and look at the sea from various beautiful vantage points in the Seaton area. The newly opened Hideaway Cafe on the seafront is exceptionally positioned for views of the Beer chalk cliffs. There are many other cafes in town too. Coast is also good on the seafront. Beware! Service is not the snappy London style so you might have to be a little more patient than usual! And if you are a coffee snob like I am while the coffee bean is good, there is not a lot of difference between a flat white, a latte and a cappuccino: oh well nothing is perfect! But you will enjoy the views! I hope you enjoy the infinite and subtle and not so subtle variety of the Jurassic Coast! The choice is yours!
It is a quiet and charming neighbourhood with delightful quiet and respectful neighbours. The joys, subtle and great, of the Jurassic Coast are to be discovered! Enjoy one of the most beautiful environments in the world!
  • It was just what we were looking for to enjoy a quaint seaside family holiday. Amazing scones and clotted cream were left in the fridge to enjoy on our arrival which was a real treat. Everything was clean and the kitchen well equipped, with dishwasher, which was a welcomed touch. The fire place was stacked with everything you need and it was enjoyed immensely. In close proximity to Lyme Regis and other delightful seaside towns, I would recommend visiting Adrian's cottage to anyone. Many thanks.

  • Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay in Devon. The house is in a great location for day trips along the coast and was fully furnished with everything we could possibly have required. We would recommend the house to anyone interested in staying in the area.

  • Really nice place))) warm and cosy, great location. We even got scones with clotted cream on our arrival.

  • Our experience with Mr. Amer and his property has been exemplary. His thoughtfulness and consideration for our comfort exceeded our expectations and his cottage one of the best rentals we’ve acquired in all our journeys. You get more than you see in his advert as the cottage comes with the surrounding Seaton charm and the friendliness of its citizens. The vistas and the sea provide a platform from which you can dive into each day with a true sense of rest and relaxation…. Highly enjoyable… Highly recommended! Thank You Mr. Amer Frank & Dee

  • We had a nice week in Devon, and the cottage provided a well-located base of operations for this. The kitchen was well equipped, and the cream tea and fresh flowers left for us were a treat. There are lots of brochures and leaflets to give a sense of what's on locally, but we would also have loved a bit of a welcome/info packet about the cottage itself. It was not obvious how the heating/fireplace/WiFi/rubbish should work, and while some may enjoy the exploratory adventure of working that out, we arrived late in the evening with a toddler in tow, and would've preferred to have the info readily apparent. The house has obviously been lovingly decorated by Adrian, and feels very homely, but if you are impacted by damp, be aware that there are some rooms in the house where this is obviously present. Overall, however, we had a nice holiday!

    Carolyn2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Love the place so much!

  • We had lovely stay at highcliffle cottage very much home from home quiet and relax .Beach close by and lots of nice walks too. We had a early check in which made a nice start to are holidays thank you Adrian

  • We arrived at high cliff cottage for a 6 night stay on the 23 December. The cottage is located near to Seaton and as we enjoyed really lovely weather we were able to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and it's excellent location. We had a log fire and Adrian had kindly left us a supply of logs. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We did have an issue which was potentially a problem but Adrian went out of his way to resolve the issue despite the timing.

Garden Holme is a shepherd's hut with your comfort in mind: set on its own raised south facing plot in a partially walled garden with private gate, patio and small sheltered grassed area looking out across Lyme Bay. Inside there is hot and cold water, electricity and a log burning fire. The en-suite bathroom offers a shower, plumbed toilet and wash basin. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is ample parking space and a patio set so you can enjoy the splendid view and the sound of the sea!
Garden Holme is situated in the grounds of the property "Ashecliffe" but is fully independent. There are splendid sea views over Lyme Bay and it is within easy walking distance of the attractive town of Seaton. The coast path to the fishing village of Beer runs nearby.
Seaton's mile long pebble beach is backed by steep cliffs at the western end and Axmouth tranquil harbour at the eastern end. It has a variety of shops and a range of places to eat and drink. It has a number of attractive parks and a new Jurassic Visitors Centre which is well worth a visit. It is also home to the infamous Grizzly Run which takes place annually in March. A variety of water sports are on offer during high season.
  • We stayed here for one night. We loved the careful preparations and the features of the Shepherd’s Hut. It was lovely for us (as Midlanders) to wake up to the sound of the sea. The view is great, the hut is clean and well-equipped.

Communication from Doug was 1st class and he provided a pack in the little Hut that gave you local stuff to do as well as a guide and instructions for the Hut it was a 5 minute walk from seaton sea front and in a short distance you could be in other towns with more things to do. I cannot recommend Doug's place enough and I certainly will be booking it again soon

  • What a lovely stay we had in Seaton with Anna and Charlie, both very welcoming and easy to talk to! The room was incredibly clean and with being a good size for a place for two. The location was good as it was far enough out of town so you could sleep easy at night, whilst it was only 15min walk to the sea front/town centre. The breakfast was continental and had a great selection of what you could have. Definitely would stay again and recommend to friends and family! Thanks for making are stay more enjoyable! x

I couldn't recommend it more.

'Curlew' is on the East beach in the lovely Devon village of Branscombe. It has a unique position right on the beach on a raised elevation, throw open the balcony doors and you are looking out onto the ever changing sea and stunning coastline which is a World Heritage site and area of outstanding natural beauty. There are two fine pubs supplying excellent food and locally brewed ales in the village and amazing cliff path walks East or West.
Living as close as is humanly possible to the sea, without the movement of a boat! The Chalet is actually on a raised platform on the beach, the French doors open onto a balcony where all you can see is the ever changing water and sky.
  • Easy, responsive communication. Amazing setting right on beach. We were very lucky to have perfect September sunshine. Loved the sound of waves, the balcony, the walk to Beer and The Masons Arms.

    Anne2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We found this house purely by luck. Where we lucky! Superbly located, secluded, yet close to Branscombe's pub and the town of Beer, a true gem. We'd like to keep it to ourselves :). Communication with the owner was perfect and correct. Can't wait to go back there!

    Bindu2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say other than "Wow!" This is a unique and special place. Excellent for beautiful walks, perfect for a rare feeling of solitude and being close to the sea, perfect for a cosy night in. Hopefully we'll be back. Jonathon was a great host providing fast response and loads of info to anyone unfamiliar with the area. Thankyou!

    Richard2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 3rd time staying at Curlew. Its a magnificent spot, incredibly beautiful, and the Curlew chalet is a perfect spot to enjoy the beach from - warm and cosy in the evening, bright and airy in the daytime... amazing to fall asleep with the sounds of the sea in the background and just awesome to wake up, on the beach and be out paddling before even the fishermen have arrived for the morning! The chalet is well kitted out, has an excellent boiler/heating system, and the balcony - we have had so many great meals there. I really struggle to find the words, but in a busy world, Branscombe and Jonathans chalet is an amazingly calm, relaxing, uplifting place to soothe away the working week and get back in touch with a gentler, simpler way of living. We've already booked for next time... and face the difficult decision of do we a) tell everyone we know about this wonderful place or b) keep the secret tou ourselves!!! (We're telling everyone!) Jim

  • The most amazing accomodation I have ever stayed in! You could not get closer to the beach! Everything you could possibly need is there. There were lots of personal touches which made it all the more comfortable and homely! The view was overwhelming from almost every single room. Jonathan was also really helpful with any questions we had whilst there. Would really recommend!!! And will definitely be returning myself!

    Ella2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jonathan's place. He made everything very easy and clear before we arrived. The chalet is in a fantastic location and was ideal for a quiet family get away. Everyone is very keen to make a return trip.

  • We had a fantastic long weekend staying at Gary's house. We travelled as a group of 8 (plus 2 dogs). The house: We had a very good impression of the house before travelling but were very impressed on our arrival. It was very spacious even with all of us staying in it, and it was nice and modern inside - having plenty of bathrooms was a big bonus too. Downstairs, the kitchen was really well equipped with everything you would need for a large family, and there is a large lounge and dinner table as well. There was a large bedroom downstairs, with two large ones and one smaller one upstairs - all were very nicely decorated and felt very homely. There are two large modern bathrooms, plus an ensuite and another toilet - more than enough for a large family. The garden is a great size and very well looked after. It was perfect to have a run around in with the dogs, and would be great to play about with the family too. The house has two large French doors and it would be great to open everything up in the summer (unfortunately it was a bit chilly when we were there!). The town: Seaton is quite a small but charming town, with lots of walking paths in the area. It has everything you would expect from a seaside town, with plenty of cafes, fish and chip shops, etc. There is also a new Tesco on the edge of town just a few minutes drive away (not on some satnavs). The host: This was my first trip with airbnb but I was really impressed by the hospitality. Gary communicated frequently throughout so we knew exactly what was in the house prior to our travel, and what the arrangements were for our arrival. He checked in with us on arrival and departure and was always on hand to ensure our visit went as well as possible, as well as recommend some local restaurants. We couldn't have wished for a nicer and smoother trip really. I would definitely visit again and recommend others do the same.

  • We had a great holiday. The caravan is really cozy with a great view. It is in a brilliant location right on the coastal path and a ten minute walk to the beach and shops at Beer. We enjoyed great walks and enjoyed lovely fresh fish bought from the fisherman who has a little shop down by the beach at Beer. Amanda was really quick to respond to all my messages and couldn’t have been more helpful.

    Rebecca2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic five night stay in Amanda and Oliver's caravan. It was surprisingly spacious and was well stocked with all that we needed for our stay. The en suite to the double bedroom was a real bonus and there was a good amount of storage available. The location was perfect, with fantastic sea views which made you feel instantly relaxed. The stroll down the hill to the beach took about 5 to ten minutes. We really enjoyed the slower pace of Beer in contrast to some of the busier nearby towns. The kids loved the beach and climbed rocks and skimmed stones. We also enjoyed a few walks on the coastal path (to the beaches at Branscombe one day and Seaton Hole the next) and made use of the local bus for the return journey. All in all we're very happy campers and hope to return to this caravan again.

  • A lovely big van in a prime spot on this georgeous site on Beer Head. Very spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped. We appreciated the larger than average master bedroom with dressing table and en suite (not a usual thing in other vans on this site) and of course the stunning unbroken view of the bay. We were lucky with good weather for most of the time and enjoyed the small patio with the view. The van is well equipped and we did several cooked breakfasts and a dinner with no problems. The shower is really good too. All in all, we loved staying here and will be back.

  • A wonderful site with views galore. We loved the walking track to Branscombe and into Beer. Great pub grub at the Anchor, a great British seaside experience deck chair, working Fishing boats and icecreams on the shingles.

  • We had a relaxing few days staying at Oliver's place. The caravan was immaculate, very clean, homely and lots of thoughtful extras to make us feel welcome. Lovely sea view. The caravan site was quiet, tidy and had lovely views. There is a bistro onsite which has very good reviews although we didn't find the time to go there. Beer itself is very pretty with plenty of pubs and restaurants and probably the nicest village along this stretch of coastline. I would definitely recommend Oliver's place for a relaxing break.

    Christine2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Where do you start when trying to share what makes this place so special. Beautiful place, well-equipped, well-positioned in the park. Beautiful village which I belief is a little gem on the West Coast. Unbelievable sea-view from almost everywhere in the caravan. Has the best sun-deck to enjoy a great sundowner and watch how the boats make there way around the coast. The shower is definitely something to mention. Amanda and Oliver definitely know what you need to have a good rest. We will surely visit again. Did I mention the sea view?

  • This was a very clean home with lots of space and many personal touches to make our stay a very pleasant one. I think all the appliances were brand new. 5 miles from Lyme Regis, it was perfect for our family! Em was very accommodating and called us asap when we were having difficulty finding the house. (It was actually easy to find - don't let our difficulty put you off!) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

  • Em responded quickly to questions we had about the house.

  • Very clean and comfortable house. Spacious and ideal location for what we need it for (The Grizzly running race). Definitely will use this house again next year. Thanks, Em.

  • Lovely welcoming house with lots of nice homely touches and the fact that the heating has been put on meant we came in to a warm home. Em was easily contactable and responded to queries really quickly. All in all a lovely relaxing break, close to shops/cafes. People were friendly and the Jurassic Cafe was a hidden gem! A home from home

  • This accommodation has a lot of potential - it’s clean, cosy, lovely soft beds, 2 parking spaces, easy check in, the host is polite and helpful and quick to answer queries, and the accommodation has a huge Tesco conveniently situated nearby. When giving reviews I usually give 5 stars for accommodation that has made me feel looked after/welcomed with little extras like milk in the fridge and good info left by the host. Unfortunately this accommodation didn’t quite make that level (i.e. no notice to let us know how to use the internet. It would've been nice to have a welcome pack, instead of having to bother the host with questions). It also lost another star from me for a rather large list of minor problems, which I have messaged the host about privately. On the whole, the accommodation was fine, but I’d suggest the host employs a handyman to go round the place and get everything looked at, repaired and tested. A little bit of love/attention to detail will go a long way!

    Katy2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay, comfortable beds, ample parking, extremely clean, perfect location for many local attractions, what more can I say... Emilie also made herself available for last minute questions, just what you need in a host. It was my daughters birthday and cup cakes were left in the fridge, a sweet surprise ;) Eva's smile summed up our stay.

We offer a comfortable and relaxed twin room with all the necessary facilities. Ideal for relaxing after a busy day out touring or walking.
We are offering a twin room in our stylish and sophisticated but comfortable home . The house is light and airy and very comfortable and would provide a great base for a holiday along the Jurassic Coast. The twin bedroom is and spacious comfortable and has TV available. There is a dedicated bathroom for guest use. Our aim is to make our guests feel really at home with some hotel-style comfort extras to make you feel like it's a special occasion. We've recently installed a hot tub which is available for guests to use for a small charge. Seaton itself is a sleepy little place with a wonderful sea vista, and nearby towns of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth are well worth a visit. Seaton Jurassic is our latest attraction just a few minutes walk away offering an interactive look at the history of the Jurassic region. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and apart from the coast, and coastal paths there are plenty of things to do do.
Seaton is in a beautiful part of the south west coast and offers space for a refreshing break.
  • We had a very warm welcome. The twin room was very comfortable and clean. We only stayed one night but by the time we left after our Scrummy breakfast, we felt we had made new friends and will be back. Thank you

  • We enjoyed our stay at Richard's and Carl's home very much especially in the mornings when we had these hilarious discussions with Carl while Richard was preparing a really abundant and delicious breakfast. They were both very pleasant hosts. Thanks a lot for everything.

  • Many thanks to Richard & Carl for a warm welcome, interesting chats, a fabulous breakfast and comfy beds. We really enjoyed fish & chips at the beach and a drink in the local (friendly!) pub. This area of the English coastline is stunningly beautiful and Seaton, is a short distance between the famous Lyme Regis and Beer village.

This cosy little house is close to the beach, local cafes and eateries, the Jurassic Centre, the town centre, and Axmouth Harbour. It only takes a minute to walk to the amazing beach! The house has a nice decor and a friendly feel to it. The house is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. It would also be fine for a small family, but the second bedroom is only a small double. Please note that the house is on a town road so there is traffic noise.
It's a relaxing space, with a lovely comfortable corner sofa, table and chairs, TV, free Wifi, a great kitchen, wood burning stove, and a roll top bath if you feel like a soak after a day of activities.
You will be very close to the beach and cafes.
  • Wonderful stay in Seaton - I would highly recommend. Emma was quick to response to and very helpful with a few questions I had regarding parking. The information Emma provided was superb and arrival and check in was very smooth and easy. The house is beautiful; nicely decorated, will all the facilities you need and very clean. Lovely Lounge and Kitchen - making it feel like a 'home-from-home'. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and an en suite. Again all very well present and spotlessly clean. The location is perfect for both the beach and the town centre.

    Gemma2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing very special from the outside: part of an older, sub-divided, larger property, entered at the back, but in a very convenient location (a few yards from beach, town and other amenities) and a real gem inside. Recently refurbished, spotlessly clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. Well equipped new kitchen in a traditional style which suits the property. Was particularly good value for us for a short break in late September and Emma's friendly communication and excellent responsiveness were second to none. Lack of on-site parking a slight negative (possibly rather more so in high season) but we found plenty of options for free or low cost parking close by so was never a problem for us; parking restrictions are eased from October too. Emma described the second bedroom as small but it has a standard double bed and room for storage so fine for our adult son and a couple would have managed OK too. An en-suite in a property of this size is a real bonus. On a busy road with some traffic noise and light pollution but after a busy day in the sea air we never had a problem getting to sleep! Hadn't been to Seaton before: not the best spot on this coast and quite a few businesses seemed to be closed out of season (late September) but by no means unpleasant and ideal for visiting some very attractive places nearby: our travels ranged from Chesil Beach to Brixham and a drive across Dartmoor. Locally the tram is an interesting diversion for a couple of hours and we spent another couple exploring the wetlands nature reserve on the edge of town. A surprisingly big Tesco is within a couple of minutes walk of the property and we dined at a good food pub (well kept ales too) in the town centre and at an excellent (if slightly expensive) steak house just yards up the road. We would very happily return to Emma's house if staying in the area again and can confidently recommend it to others with similar requirements.

  • Emma has been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She provided me with all of the relevant info for our stay and gave me loads of useful advice on parking/ places to visit/eat etc. The house was beautifully furnished with gorgeous simplistic chic detailing. It was also immaculately clean and well equipped with everything we would need for our stay. The locality was superb, calm and peaceful, which was just what we wanted with all of the essential amenities in walking distance. Overall I was extremely impressed with the accommodation and service Emma provided and hope to stay again soon! Thank you so much x

A short walk down the hill and you are either in the village or on the beach. Take the coastal walk to Seaton or I recommend the Beer quarry caves for a visit; wrap up though.

  • It's a beautiful place just like the pictures only much better in real life. From the online pics and maps it seemed like there's a small beach just at the end of the caravan park. Sadly if there is one this is not accessible. Good thing is if you want to head to the beach you have to go to Seaton or Branscombe both of which are nearby so you do have options.

    Maclon2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • spectaculair view from the caravan. The location near Beer is also great

    Tanja2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • First off, the host Tom was a very friendly and helpful chap. We had a problem with our stay and he dealt with it very fairly, professionally and quickly. Future bookers can be confident he is a good host. Sadly we had a double booking error and arrived at the van to find others already staying and when I called Tom he said there must have been an error on the Air B&B system as he did not expect us til the following day. All my records show we had paid for the two nights as planned. Tom sorted us out with one night in a different van on the same site and we had to do a swap the next morning. Not ideal as we had 2 toddlers and loads of stuff. When we got into the correct caravan we found it was well equipped and clean, and the view from the hillside location was great. A short walk into Beer where we found a great beach, shops, pubs etc. One star knocked off as the van smelled a bit smoky on arrival. We went round with the spray and left windows open but it lingered and we had to wash everything when we got home. I will add that Tom offered us an extra night (Sunday) for free after the inconvenience however we all had to go to work so could not stay.

Hamilton House is situated in the heart of this coastal village and within approximately half a mile's level walk to the wide pebble beach and sea. The house is situated down a private no through road at the end of which starts the level footpath that leads to the beach. The footpath itself is a delightful walk through the fields and alongside a stream before reaching the extensive pebble beach with rock pools, car park, delightful tearooms and a shop. It is an ideal holiday venue for families with small children. Branscombe is a delightful village with two popular public houses, the Masons Arms and the Fountain Head both serving excellent food. The Old Bakery tea house and gardens are only a 10 minute stroll. There is an ancient parish church that dates back to the 11th century, three National Trust properties, the Old Bakery, the Manor Mill and the Old Forge, and a post office/convenience store. Branscombe is undoubtedly one of East Devon's most sought after coastal villages, situated just inland from the Jurassic Coast, the World Heritage Coastline along Lyme Bay and nestling amongst some of East Devon's most glorious countryside, much of which is owned by the National Trust and designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This holiday cottage at a glance Sleeps eight guests. Four bedrooms, one shower room and two bathrooms. Lawned garden with large wooden deck. WiFi. Parking for one vehicle. Sorry, no pets. Minimum of a three night stay. Additional features Electric flame-effect fire in sitting room. Ceramic hob and oven, microwave and grill combination cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Tumble dryer, washing machine. Satellite 32" LCD TV, video and DVD player, DVD and CD/radio micro systems, iPod enabled Hi-fi system. Travel cot, baby monitor and highchair available on request. Garden furniture and barbecue. Attractions and nearby amenities To either side of the wide beach, the coast rises to cliffs, which are in the ownership of the National Trust. There are spectacular walks in both directions - either the South West Coast Path towards Sidmouth or alternatively, the shorter but undoubtedly more scenic and dramatic cliff walk to Beer. This walk was recently voted one of the top 50 most scenic walks in Britain. There are various other scenic walks in the area. The historic market town of Honiton is just nine miles away, famous for antiques and lace. The coastal resorts of Beer and Sidmouth are approximately 10 and 20 minutes away respectively. Direct trains from Waterloo or Clapham Junction to Axminster (2.5 hours) and a 15-20 minutes' drive from Branscombe.

Town only approx 1 mile by car has a good array of shops a large Tesco some good restaurants and takeaways
  • Quiet, clean, well-kept, warms up quickly and handy location for main access routes into Seaton and to surrounding areas. Not easily walkable to the beach if have small children or less able, as is about 2 miles, long hill. Ideal location if you have a car as is quiet and can get to main routes quickly. Adjacent garage well-stocked, shuts about 8pm, opens early - very useful.

  • Chalet is well equipped in a very quiet location with easy parking and on good road for exploring the area. Buses plentiful from Harepath Hill. Coin operated power is not expensive, unless it rains and the strong odour of damp rises significantly, when heating is needed. Little space to put own items in lounge as its already full of 'stuff'. Bring own mattress topper unless you like springs!

  • Very beautiful, clean and cosy place as advertised. Sharon and her team were very helpful. It was very peaceful and quite neighgourhood. Comfortable furniture's and all the necessary cookware are in the property. Lots of entertainment and sites to visit around for family and children. The guys at the nearby services station are very helpful.

  • Sharon was really helpful and quick to respond. The chalet was clean and in a quiet location at the top of the hill out of town, so you need to be prepared to walk for approximately 30mins to get to the centre and beach. The walk back up could be tiring for little ones, but was fine for us with a 7 yr old.

A tastefully decorated 3 bedroom victorian terrace. The large ensuite double bedroom has sea views. The 1st floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathrom. There is a sitting room , dining room and kitchen on the ground floor. The garden is beautifully planted, is south west facing with a patio area.
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.
The house is 6 minutes walk from the sea, early morning you could find yourself almost alone in this beautiful bay
  • Thank you Jane and Richard for a lovely stay at your house. It was a perfect getaway, tranquil with home comforts. The neighbourhood was very quiet and Seaton beach was only a few minutes walk away. We were welcomed by Marie who explained where everything was and we received a very welcome bottle of wine. My two young boys adored Charlie the cat and wanted to take him home. The listing was accurate and communication excellent!

  • We had a lovely stay in Jane and Richard's home. Every room was comfortable, bright, and with artistic touches throughout. With the tiered garden, the well equipped kitchen, and the cosy living room, and of course the cat purring in the background, it really felt like somewhere we could relax properly. Many thanks to you both for letting us stay in your family home.

  • We really spent a great week at Jane & Richard's home and the weather was OK ! The welcome was friendly and clear. The house is very pretty and functional, downtown is a short walk and the sea just below. It is a perfect location to move around east, north or west. Seaton and the Jurassic coast are to be discovered ! My three kids, my wife and I highly recommend this place. We definitely felt like home

  • It have been a very warm welcome by Marie (Jane and Richard have been on travel). Marie showed us everything important in the house. The house is furnished with great attention to detail. The kitchen provides for people who loves cooking many great features and a variety of cookbooks. Charlie is a very friendly uncomplicated cat. It's all very personal and we immediately felt at home. The house was a great starting point for discovering the Jurassic Coast.

  • We enjoyed the time in the house of Jane. This cottage is furnished with love for the detail. Jane didn't promise to much.

  • Jane and Richard have a lovely home. The dreadful weather meant my daughter and I spent more time there than we would of ordinarily, but the well equipped kitchen and cosy living room, complete with fireplace, meant we enjoyed our short break very much, regardless.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Jane and Richard's lovely home. So much so that we felt at home ourselves from almost the moment we walked through the door. The house is in a great location to explore the local area and we wished we could have stayed a little longer. Charlie the cat was a great addition to our holiday too and became a good friend of our 11 month baby!
