“PARQUE NATURAL SIERRA DE BAZA Situado entre dos extensas planicies: la Hoya de Guadix-Granada y los Llanos del Marquesado, suponen un accidente geográfico de enorme espectacularidad. Es la parte central de la Cordillera Penibética, que se eleva en algunos puntos a más de 2.000 m. y que constituye el hábitat de numerosas especies de rapaces. Además de su interesante flora y fauna, el parque tiene gran importancia desde el punto de vista arqueológico. Las cuevas del Monte Jabalcón son un buen ejemplo de ello. En las inmediaciones del municipio de Santa Olalla, cerca de Baza, se encuentra el Aula de la Naturaleza Casa de Naváez, una zona de acampada y el centro de visitantes del parque. Las vías que permiten adentrase en este espacio protegido parten de los siguientes municipios: Baza, Gor, Charches y Caniles. Desde esta última localidad, la carretera GR-800 cruza el territorio en dirección norte-sur.”
