Bay of Fundy Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Bay of Fundy

** Most loved Canadian listing east of Toronto, and one of the top 7 in Canada!** (Buzzfeed and CBC, 2016) Quirky seaside loft set high in the trees (and accessed by boardwalk) features deck with harbour view (sunsets, whales, sailboats); skylight-lit dining nook; snug double bed with ocean view; and enough floorspace to practice your tango moves. BEFORE YOU BOOK: be sure to write to me with all your details, and your pitch for how you'll leave it in better shape than you found it! :-)
Quirky seaside studio apartment set high in the trees (and accessed by boardwalk) features deck with harbour view (fabulous sunsets, seals, whales, sailboats); skylight-lit dining nook; snug double bed with ocean view; and enough floorspace to practice your tango moves. 15 minute walk to gorgeous swimming lake, 5 minute walk to bus-stop, 15 minute drive to downtown Halifax (restaurants, festivals, shows...), 1 minute walk to kayak launching point, and plenty of hiking, biking, adventuring and relaxing. Self-catering - fridge, gas stove, pots and pans and all your cooking needs. Blissfully free of TV and telephone, there is a large collection of books, records, and cassettes, as well as wifi if you get desperate for distraction. ***This is my personal home, and full of my favourite things, my art collection, my antique record collection, etc. I like to know as much as possible about you so I can be sure to leave my place in the 'right hands' while I'm away. If you have not stayed with me before, be sure to write me with the full names of ALL guests, who you 'are', what you do, why you're interested in my place in particular, and whether you're the kind of person who takes pleasure in leaving a place in better condition than you found it. Since I I'll be away when you're there, I don't charge a cleaning fee, and my place tends to be in rather high demand, I do ask my guests to get the apartment all ready for the next arrivals (bed made, dishes washed and put away, floors swept, vacuumed, and mopped, etc whatever you can think of). ***When you write to ask about the apartment, be sure to tell me if this is the sort of thing that appeals to you.*** Also, If you love love love my place, and KNOW you're the perfect fit, but there are only 2 nights available (my minimum says 3), write to me and ask. I may well invite you to stay. :-)
Just on the outskirts of Halifax and a 15-20 min drive to the city core, Purcell's Cove is one of those unique places in the world with a real 'getaway' feel. My immediate neighbours are artists, writers, filmmakers and yoga teachers. I grew up just next door (and my mum still lives there), and can give you tips on what to see and visit while you stroll around.
  • Monique/Munju's place is pretty much what everyone else has written in their reviews - special, magical - from the bedside view of the harbour, to the mood set by the books, the records, artwork, plants. Great place to be, within 20 min by bus/faster by car to Halifax downtown, but having the feel of a remote special relaxing oceanfront oasis. Also, great responsive host, easy check in/out.

    Tanja2013-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Munju's studio! The space is refreshing and roomy, allowing for space to relax. We ate breakfast on the deck and watched the sailboats go by in the morning. Munju's done a wonderful job of decorating the apartment with plants, beautiful furniture, and art pieces that make the place feel cozy and unique. The place is a great distance from downtown Halifax, easy to get to by car in 15 minutes while far enough away to feel like a getaway. Munju was accessible by phone and very responsive. We'd definitely stay here again.

  • Wow! This studio apartment is one of the coolest places we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The kind of place that immediately feels like home, and makes you want to just settle in and stay forever. The views of the northwest arm, point pleasant park, and McNabb's Island were stunning. The deck outside offers the best breakfast eating location in the world. Its location could not be more perfect, as well. It's close enough to the peninsula to be able to get downtown in about 20 minutes, but far enough down Purcell's Cove road to really make you feel like you're not so close to the biggest city this side of Quebec. Thanks for offering this place up to travellers like us. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Halifax. You will be so glad you did!

  • I have no words for how wonderful this airbnb is. It's such a tranquil space and it's a million times better than staying in Downtown Halifax. The owners touches are amazing, from her cassettes to her appliances (there's a vitamix!) it really feels lik home. The view is unparallelled. We ended up just staying at the airbnb for two whole days doing absolutely nothing and it was wonderful. Just book it already!

    Jenny2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really amazing!!! It´s well located and truly heart warming.

    Marilyn2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we were overwhelmed with the beauty and uniqueness of this wonderful place. The outside deck is phenomenal - watching the boats pass by and the unique view of the sunset and sunrise is unparalleled. The best part, however, was the incredible 'nest' that was our home among the treetops. The studio is an amazing combination of literature, art and the most comforting furniture from the bed to the kitchen nook to the chairs and couch. We felt embraced and welcomed from the moment we arrived and Munju's unique and amazing collection of artifacts kept us intrigued and entertained the entire visit. Had the weather not been so wonderful and the views from the deck not so spectacular we would have happily spent our time exploring the floor to ceiling journey she so artfully provides. This was truly a one of a kind experience that I can't do justice to with words - if you are lucky enough to stay there you will know what I mean. Above and beyond all of the above Munju was an amazing host who provided great insight to the area and responded instantly to any issue we had. I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was. Would also like to mention that her mom, Sally, was a joy to meet and a special addition to our trip. Sherri and Carl

  • The Bohemian Seaside Studio was a lovely and relaxing place to stay. My husband and I stayed there for five days during our East Coast Honeymoon Adventure in October. The seaside location is private and peaceful, yet an easy drive to Halifax and other attractions (while there we went to Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove for a day trip). It was a nice place to put up our feet and unwind after a day of sightseeing. The views from the deck, windows and skylights are amazing, while the sound of rain on the roof and skylights overnight was very soothing. The location is the perfect combination of natural beauty and proximity to Halifax and other attractions. I would highly recommend staying at the Bohemian Seaside Studio while in Halifax, especially if you want a quiet getaway.

    Robyn2013-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. Relaxing and private. A sea breeze to keep your mind alert and fresh. This is a special place and it is very calm there. A little tricky to find but that is a good thing.

This year round cottage is in one of Nova Scotia's most beautiful areas, the South Shore. Known for its abundant beaches, restaurants, shopping and music there is something for everyone!
Heron's Rest is a quaint cottage located on just over an acre of land beside one of the largest set of rapids of the Petite River. Located just 1.5 hours from Halifax, this quiet and private rental is just off the main road giving quick access to the wide range of local interest and activities. Its the perfect location for a romantic get away for two or a personal retreat. The house is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, dishwasher and laundry facilities. It will sleep 2 in the main bedroom queen sized bed. The large deck which overlooks the river is accessed off the kitchen and includes a BBQ and outdoor dining facilities. Guests can enjoy a quiet evening on the deck listening to the river and watching the stars or build a bonfire in the riverside fire pit. This is a charming cottage has a large deck that overlooks the rapids. You will enjoy the sound of the river from the house. It is cozy and comfortable. This is a wonderful community close to local beaches, steeped with history and full of charm. Petite Riviere is just a few minutes away and has a general store (complete with liquor store). Have one of their wonderful cups of coffee and enjoy a few minutes on their deck sharing a "yarn" with the locals. Please note that there is no public transit here.
  • Our stay at the Quiet Riverside Retreat was exactly what we were looking for. It was in a beautiful setting and while the cottage was simply furnished it had all of the conveniences that we needed. We found Sherry and Paul to be extremely helpful and personable. The river, which is behind the cottage is spectacular and will provide inspiration for photography and painting. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet retreat that is still close to many art studios, farm markets and bakeries. In particular, both the Petite Riviere Winery (a five minute walk away) and the LaHave Bakery (15 minute drive) are well worth visiting.

  • We arrived to our host awaiting us in a very cheerful and accepting manner. We were given a tour and all information regarding the cottage. A heartwarming bottle of wine was left on the table for our enjoyment during our stay. Beautiful touch. Beautifully decorated with lovely little touches all throughout. Attention to detail was impeccable. Open to any calls or any questions during stay. Well lit for a nice campfire down by the river. Extra spices left for cooking with the barbeque. Everything was available and well thought out.

    Rick2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Riverside Cottage is fantastic! Marvelous riverside setting. The cabin is well appointed and has everything you would need for cooking meals. Sherry was considerate, kind and quick the reply to any questions. I was sad to leave! The best air bnb experience yet. Thank you for sharing your special place.

    Sara2015-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Heron's Rest and we absolutely loved it. My partner and I spent three nights there celebrating our anniversary and it was just the retreat we were needing. It is peaceful, beautiful, very well maintained, and has those extra touches that make you feel at home. We particularly enjoyed the wood stove which kept us cozy during the evenings. We would highly recommend this spot! Sherry is an excellent host.

    Shila2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry gave us great instructions before embarking on our adventure. They were detailed and very helpful. The cottage is perfect for wanting to get away from it all - small, cozy and the river in the backyard is spectacular. Just like some of the other reviews have said ... the pictures don't do it justice.

    Mandi2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This peaceful bit of heaven was such a treat. The perfect place to get away and relax. Well stocked, I couldn't think of one thing I needed that the cabin didn't have (coffee grinder, hair dryer, dishwasher, it's all there). Also it's super organized, you have all the information you need (like what's the wifi password, fireplace protocol, where are extra towels), which proved very helpful. Highly recommend. Thanks sherry!

    Rosemary2015-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The "quiet riverside retreat" hosted by Sherry Hudson, was terrific! The cottage was cozy ,comfortable, and well equipped. We enjoyed the relaxing , private atmosphere , situated by the picturesque Lahave river. Sherry surpassed our expectations for a host. She replied quickly to my emails and messages, assuring me that she would be available if we should need anything during our stay . I was impressed upon arrival with the card and bottle of local wine she had left to welcome us!! I would definitely recommend Sherry's retreat and give it the highest rating!! Sincerely, Dannette Driedger Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

  • My partner and I came here for a romantic getaway weekend in April and we absolutely LOVED our time at Heron's rest. It was even better than the photos. The cabin itself is amazing- so cozy and comfortable. The deck was dreamy as well- the sound of the rushing river and the peace and quiet made it a great spot for yoga. We don't usually stay somewhere twice, but we're already excited for our next trip here. 10/10!

Take in sea air and expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean from this cosy and contemporary rural private apartment; fully furnished, with a separate entrance and deck. Enjoy the use of an acoustic guitar, firepit, telescope and record player...
Welcome! Bienvenue! Take in sea air and expansive views from cosy and contemporary Seaview Sanctuary. The self-contained apartment above Dave & Colleen's seaside residence offers stunning views from a private deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The apartment has a separate entrance and is a few minutes' walk from the beach and astonishing tides of the Bay of Fundy, in beautiful and historic Port Greville. This bright, fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment is roomily laid out, and has windows on three sides to take in the natural views. Open the deck door to channel the lovely local sea breezes, if you like. The vaulted ceilings have exposed wooden beams and the bedroom can comfortably sleep two, with potential for three, having both a double and a single bed. A pull-out double sofabed is also available. The apartment has a private four-piece bathroom (large clawfoot tub with shower), as well as a new stove and half-size fridge. A microwave, electric kettle, toaster and coffeemaker can also be found. There are DVDs and a player, books and a telescope; a dining area, writing desk, firepit, and kitchen table. Wireless internet, deck chairs, an acoustic guitar and a record player are on hand too-- bring your own vinyl, or listen to ours.. As much as possible, we use natural cleaning products and hang-dry the linens. Fall asleep on these to the ebb of the ocean, and in summer to the sweet calls of the Peepers.. Nearby amenities and attractions include a country store (ice cream, liquor, gifts, stamps, basic grocery/sundry, etc. - 5 min. walk), a ship-building museum [Age of Sail Museum] (20 min. walk), a dinosaur and geological museum [Fundy Geological Museum] and a theatre for plays and performances [Ship's Company Theater] in nearby Parrsboro (25 min. drive). Cape Chignecto Provincial Park, and local activities such as kayaking, paragliding, boating, hiking, horseback-riding, fossil-collecting, etc. also abound.
Port Greville is a coastal hamlet of houses on the Bay of Fundy in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. It finds itself set amidst a remarkable glacially-formed geography, positioned between the Atlantic Ocean and the ancient Cobequid Mountains. Port Greville has a store, a firehall, an Age of Sail Museum and an ever-unfurling beach..
  • The host was wonderful, and not only welcomed me when I arrived, but provided ample information about the area and all the wonderful spots to visit. The space itself is superb, and the patio just tops it off. The kitchen has everything you need, as does the whole space. I had a work-cation, and this space was super conductive to work and play. I'll definitely come back, and have been singing Colleen and Dave's praises to all my friends. Really lovely place, and lovely people, and the view - wow.

    Anna2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen and Dave's place was absolutely charming and beautiful. Super clean and cozy. We woke up to a wonderful view. Colleen and Dave were fantastic hosts. Helpful and available, but gave us our space. It was an absolute pleasure to stay and I would definitely recommend it and return myself

    Marlon2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen and Dave have a dreamy nook in Port Greville. We arrived and could tell that right off the bat, and were sorry to have only booked a single night with them. Beds made for great nights sleep, cooking and kitchen items made dinner/breakfast prep easy, and the breathtaking night sky, o my! The most lovely of all was the quiet still and peacefulness of the natural setting, such a serene way to admire Fundy in all its glory. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

    Lauren2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The night we spent in the upper apartment of Colleen and Dave's home was perfect. They made us feel welcome upon arrival and then let us be. The linens smelled great and the place was very spacious. They have a record player and a telescope, if you're into those sorts of things. The walk down to the water the next day didn't take long at all. Would recommend; well worth the drive from Halifax! We would be delighted to revisit during the summer, for a longer stay.

    Miranda2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweetly decorated and quirky attic apartment with lots of space and good light. Colleen and Dave were in constant communication if we needed anything but left us to sleep in in the morning :) Beautiful location too!

    Jenni2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen and Dave were fantastic hosts. We arrived late on the day of our arrival so the following morning Dave came up to introduce himself and to chat with us about the place. We ran into a slight problem with the well but both Colleen and Dave went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, which they did a very excellent job on doing. We adored their apartment. It was very cute, comfy, cozy and clean. They also have a selection or books, records, movies and some games to play. We even discovered a new artist we fell in love with thanks to the records they left. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The view is breath taking, the house is cozy and the company is lovely. I will definitely be coming back for a longer stay! Thank you so much !

    elizabeth2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • I wish I could stay in this place every other weekend. It has great light, a beautiful view. Comfortable in every way. We were greeted with fresh flowers (roses grown in the yard that smelled heavenly). Colleen and Dave were gracious to wait up for us even though we arrived later than we expected. Stairs up to the apt. are manageable, but were quite formidable for old knees after a day of hiking. Dave spritely carried our bags up the stairs!!!

    Nancy2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great stay at the Seaview Sanctuary! We were looking for a quiet weekend away and got just that. The view was beautiful and the accommodations were great! We were looking for some alone time and didn't interact with the Dave and Colleen very much, but when we did see them they were very pleasant and helpful.

Oceanfront property located in St. George NB overlooking two breathtaking private beaches on the beautiful Fundy Bay Coast. Nestled at the end of the road on a very private and safe 5 acre oceanfront property. Relax and take in the natural scenery
  • Its always nice to have you expectations exceeded, and this cottage did exactly that. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Everything works, and the views are magnificent

    Penn2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon and her family have created a wonderful spot at what feels like the end of the world. Our family of four spent two lovely nights at the cottage and it was a good respite in the middle of a two week road trip around New England and the Maritimes. The cottage is impossibly located at the end of the road, facing what appear to be uninhabited islands, and a passage out to the Bay of Fundy. The place was immaculate, and stocked with everything we needed (including a washer and dryer that was desperately needed after a week on the road with a toddler). We cooked in both nights with local seafood, and finished the evening with smores on the firepit above the cove. Wow. Then after the kids were asleep with relaxed with a movie (they have Netflix) and some very good stargazing. We spent a day in St. Andrews, hit the farmer's market (Thursdays) and this great salt water swimming lagoon called Katie's pond. Eight thumbs up from the Zimmerman's

    Adam2014-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage, at the end of an ungraveled road, you feel alone! The sunset is wonderful (Hum, didn't get up early to see the sunrise!). You only hear the waves. Shannon and her girls are not far and are wonderful guests with the help you need. The house is very well equipped as described even more. I strongly recommand.

    Stéphane2014-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We went to Paradise Point looking for a secluded and quiet place on The Bay of Fundy where we could unwind and relax with our older dog. We were so pleased with everything. There is nothing like the view. We experienced beautiful sunsets and sunrises and even found ourselves outside late at night to star gaze (unbelievable)! The house is immaculate, very comfortable, quiet and provides everything you need for a fuss-free getaway. It was also a perfect home base for our day trips to St. Andrews and St. John. Shannon and her family live in the next home and are there to help without being imposing. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We know we will be returning to Paradise Point for another relaxing stay in the future!

    Jane2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little slice of heaven.

    Jonas2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 3 days at Paradise point and I would have stayed there for the whole summer!! It's a very quiet place with an amazing view. The place is close to Shannon house, but we still felt alone in the nature. Shannon is a very kind and respectful person. She's always available if needed and she's not imposing even if she lives close. The cottage itself is very clean with everything that we can possibly need (even Netflix!!). The living room is right in front of the ocean so even on a rainy day, we could still look at the ocean while reading a good book. I highly recommend this place, it's just perfect for relaxing vacation!

    Christine2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and great little cottage with everything you need! We especially loved getting a chance to fire up the wood stove. There's nothing like getting to hear the crackle of a good fire inside and the waves crashing outside at the same time. And what a great spot for stargazing! It was the perfect end to our time in Canada!

The beach across the street was great and at night you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. We took many day trips that were less than an hour away, Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester. We also had a great lobster dinner at the Shore Club, a must. Wonderful place, wonderful province.

This entire boutique home is all yours to stay in and is located right in downtown Sackville. It recently had a complete renovation and every detail in the place has been handcrafted. It is ideal for a couple or a few friends as there are 2 big beds.
The place is called the "Duffer" because it is located on (website hidden). Inside the house, it is very open concept, spacious and has great natural light. It is an ideal space for reading, writing, making art and/or just relaxing while you are visiting Sackville.
The Duffer is located right in downtown Sackville just off Main Street. Having said that it is very quiet on Dufferin St. and when you're inside the house you can hardly hear a car go by. The Duffer is located just up the street from the middle school and the Lions' Club.
  • The house is beautiful, and the hosts are great people. So happy to have had the chance to stay here.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Duffer! The place was immaculate and Robin and her husband were very kind and easy to communicate with . The place is absolutely unique and special! We just loved the art and the finishing touches of the house. The location of the house also makes it easy to travel to various Maritime provinces. We will be back! Thank you for sharing your house with us! Un séjour inoubliable dans un petit bijou de maison ! Un décor unique et original, une propreté impeccable et des hôtes gentils comme tout ! Quoi de mieux ! Merci beaucoup !

  • Love The Duffer! Robin communicated with us quickly and easily. When we arrived Bucky greeted us on the front porch and gave us a tour of his handiwork. We are sooo impressed with his skill and artistry in the renovation/reclamation of the property. It is a unique and lovely space. The photos only provide a taste of the detail, especially the tile work. The light and openness was refreshing yet we still felt we had complete privacy. As other reviewers have mentioned, every thought has been given to the comfort of their guests. The decor is pitch perfect. We had told Robin that we were in Sackville helping our daughter furnish and move into her new apartment off campus so Robin had Bucky provide us with directions to a number of second hand furniture shops. We also made good use of the side garden. We can only hope The Duffer will be available to us again when we return to Sackville.

Situated in Historic North end Halifax this property is just a 5 minute walk from downtown, and less than that to some of the City's best restaurants and coffee shops. With two full bedrooms it is ideal for up to 4 guests. Explore the best Halifax has to offer without ever having to drive!
This beautiful condo is located in a Historic renovated Church, and is in one of Halifax's most up and coming neighbourhoods. Surrounded by great restaurants and only a ten minute walk to to waterfront it is sure to provide the utmost convenience for any guest.
In my opinion the best neighbourhood in Halifax! I have lived here for many years now and have never felt a greater sense of community anywhere in Halifax. The best restaurants and bars on Gottingen St. are just around the corner, and a walk downtown is less than 10 minutes. Agricola St. is also just 10 minutes away featuring more great bars and coffee shops.
  • Beautiful apartment! I really enjoyed our stay here. Andrew was very accommodating and available to answer any questions. I would return!

  • Our stay at Lincoln and Andrew was great. They have been very flexible with the CheckIn when we arrived earlier. Also the collected Informations for the Area around the Appartement and Halifax was great and we liked the Restaurants especially Edna's, ACE Burgers and the Triangle Pub.

    Andreas2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lincoln and Andrew were great hosts and their apartment was really nice, cozy and comfortable. And, it was only a short walk from the Halifax downtown with its restaurants and boardwalk. We really felt at home and would happily stay there again in the future.

  • Host was nice and welcoming despite our late arrival, and the place was spacious and gorgeous. Place is cozy and warm and an attractive place to stay while visiting halifax

  • Great location, 5 minute walk from downtown hub. Very unique space, we really loved it. It may be beneficial to have a hair dryer there. The beds, pillows and duvets were amazing.

  • This is a terrific little place. Simple, clean and nice hosts. Love the quiet residential neighborhood that is easy walking distance to some of the more central attractions. Just up the block you'll find arguably the best restaurant in Halifax and a terrific bakery.

  • We were finishing a long travel through the Americas with three little girls in an overlander car and it was a true pleasure to stay by Catherine's house. Everything was ready and clean when we arrived and girls and us appreciated to be like "at home" for this busy last week. The bus just next door was a good value too. Thanks to Catherine and Matt for their hospitality and service.

  • My girlfriend and I had a really great time at Catherine's house. The location was outstanding, and the neighborhood is very safe. The house also has everything you need, and is clean. Highly recommend it!

  • So happy to have found this wonderful place. It is clean, quiet, spacious and Catherine goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable and easy. It is only a 10 minute drive from down town and made our weekend stay in Halifax a good one.

    Jessica2012-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay and found the hosts to be very responsive. The location was excellent for our purpose. The beds and living room furniture were all comfortable and the Keurig coffee maker was a definite plus. Although the house is old, it is decorated and furnished in a very attractive and modern way. The premises are spacious, yet cosy.

    Margaret2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place and hosts. Away from DT but still only 10 minutes drive so is close as well.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Catherine's house. It is really nice, well equipped with everything you'll need for a weekend or a few more days. We found everything clean and as like as shown on the pictures. It's only a few minutes by car to the next supermarket and not far from the city center. If there's only one thing to say.. There might be some noise from the street, but nothing really important for us. Thank you Catherine for hosting us.

    Fabian2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Halifax City Urban Cottage was a wonderful base for our weekend in Halifax. A great location for travelling whichever direction your headed in the area. The cottage is on a busy road but the home is quiet and cozy inside and had all that was required for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Thank you Catherine for quick responses and providing a getaway that we will recommend to others.

    Lynn2016-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a great place for our month in Halifax! Comfortable and peaceful, especially in the evening. Location is great for access to downtown and the harbor area. Catherine and Matt obviously take pride in maintaining the cottage.

Our cozy, very quirky and unique ocean front cabin has everything and more than what you've always thought a cabin should have with a boardwalk path to the beach, Outdoor Pizza Oven, outdoor soaker tub, 4 decks with seating. Come and see, and you'll never want to leave. The price listed includes cleaning fees and applicable taxes for up to 4 people (extra fees apply if more).
This ocean front cozy cabin is a private lot with access to the rocky and pebble mix ever changing landscape of the Bay of Fundy beach. It has everything and more for what you dream of having for a cabin on the ocean - come and see and you won't want to leave! It must be said that the waters are not meant for swimming in the summer - far too cold for most . However, the scenic view, sunsets, beach combing for sea life, mussel picking (oh yes a wonderful bed of fresh mussels) bon fire appeal, it is truly a wonderful place to relax. Every season has it's treasures. We are located approx 1 hour from the city of Halifax - and for most tourist attractions throughout central Nova Scotia - 1 to 2 hours max of driving. It has three bedrooms, one on the main level a 3/4 size bed, two upstairs one is a queen the other a double - also a cozy couch for someone else to curl up on in the living room. If you are looking for a true Nova Scotia cottage, rural experience, this is it. With a wood fireplace and newly installed heat pump, along with electric heaters, you will never be cold even in the dead of winter. We have a wonderful selection of music in cds for the stereo or records to play on the record player. TV for watching movies (no satellite or local tv though), books and games- even if it rains you'll have lots to do. We recently added an outdoor soaker tub for two - great for starry nights! (not available Jan-Mar). And most recently....an outdoor Pizza cook oven ! We've built this cabin ourselves. It truly has been a labour of love we have built for our family. It is the perfect spot for young and old alike. It has some very unique features that make for lots of fun with faux stained glass work, unique water access, funky ceilings, and so much more. All wood flooring except the bathroom - which is equipped with a shower but no tub. There is a washing machine (not available in winter) and clothes line. Down by the bluff, you'll find (2) two seater benches and a beach swing as well as a hidden sheltered area lit at night with mini lights - There is access to the beach but if you have "unstable/arthritic" knees, we will direct you just down the road to a very friendly entrance. (appox 1 min. drive from cottage) Fresh bedding (including the top blankets), towels, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, even a flat iron available - kitchen fully equipped including condiments, spices and standard baking supplies such as flour, sugar etc. - Barbeque on deck, lots of firewood for fireplace and outdoor pit (included in price). Just email us and we can let you know what we have. We also do offer special rates for families - no charge for children 10 and under! Ask us when you request a booking and we'll give you a special offer. Our goal has always been to make it affordable for families too! Just a two minute drive from the cottage you'll be at the harbour with a wonderful little German Restaurant with take out & ice cream which serves Canadian as well - and a local gift shop nestled in behind it. (This is a seasonal restaurant and closes September 30 for the winter) If you are looking for fresh lobster or scallops - depends on the catch but we have an inside track on a local fisherman we can share with you! And from Harbourville, you're only 40 minutes away from Hall's Harbour which is a must see and has more local crafts, a small take out and a lobster pound. In Berwick, (15 minutes ) you must take in an evening at the Union Street Cafe/Wick's Pub - check them out on the web - every Friday evening they have open mike night - which means if you are musically inclined, you can sign up to sing on stage for a couple songs - this is always hosted by local, more seasoned entertainers from the Valley and offers free mussels and garlic bread at 9 pm - The restaurant and pub menus offer food is second to none and the people are wonderful. They also have several selections on their menu for gluten free diets. So much to tell you but take too long to write - so firstly - if you have time enough ahead - get yourself a Doer's and Dreamers guide on the Nova Scotia tourism site. We do have one at the cabin for your use along with many local brochures etc. Another very good site for searching restaurants, local events etc of the Annapolis Valley just type in Annapolis Valley vacations and you'll find it - What makes us unique is the authenticity of it's Nova Scotia fishing community cottage - We are not a motel/hotel so if you are looking for white glove stay - this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a good old fashion Nova Scotia experience - this is it. We take a great deal of pride in having the place crisp and clean for you. There is so much to do and see you'll wish you stayed longer!
In all the years we have spent at our cabin, we have always had full privacy, peace and quiet. We are very fortunate to have this private lot.
  • Very welcoming hosts at a fantastic, cozy cabin. Everything was just as described (and then some! Kevin and Janice had a few great surprises to make us feel welcome). The location was great for us as we wanted a quiet getaway, enjoyed some beach combing, the fire, and overall what was a wonderful atmosphere in the cabin. Very highly recommended!

    Blake2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Simply a perfect little cottage right on the Bay of Fundy. Janice and Kevin have clearly put their hearts in to their little get away and we feel privileged to have been able to stay in it for a few nights. The kitchen has everything you need if you are looking to cook, but their are details on where to go if you want to eat out too. Overall a great place to stay and we may again if we get the chance!

    Sean2012-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at the cabin couldn't have been more perfect. The cabin was the perfect hideaway in the midst of a major winter storm and a terrible cold snap. Janice and Kevin were incredible to work and plan with, very flexible and helpful. From tips on how to keep the cabin warm, where to park, and allowing us to stay extra time because of the weather, they were the perfect hosts. I would strongly recommend this cabin, we've been there twice in less than six months and can't wait to go back.

    Leticia2014-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Just looking at the picture as I write this review makes me wish we were back at Kevin and Janice's little slice of paradise on the Bay of Fundy! The cabin totally surpassed our (high!) hopes. The level of detail, care, hospitality and love they've put into this place is incredible. We came in the "off" season in November, but never would have known it. We collected fresh mussels just outside the front door, watched beautiful sunsets every night and took baths beneath the starriest sky I've ever seen. We made lots of fires, made pizzas in their pizza oven, listened to their wonderful record collection, and generally relaxed like this stressed out pair of New Yorkers hardly ever does! From the moment they greeted us the first night with their wonderful hospitality (and a few amazing surprises) we knew we'd landed in an incredible place. We were blissfully out of cell-phone range for most of our trip but next time we visit (we'll be back!) we hope to spend a little more time with Kevin and Janice and hear the many stories they must have to tell. We can't say enough about this place. We can't wait to return. Love and thanks, Katrina (and Jonathan)

    Katrina2015-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin & Janice are wonderful hosts. They made us feel truly welcome. The cabin is awesome. It is beautifully decorated, has many amenities and is in a great location. Kevin & Janice have thought of everything - there is so much to do at the cabin, you'll wish you could stay longer. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

    Gary2013-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is an absolute gem. Kevin and Janice made our stay so enjoyable and easy. The views of the water are breathtaking, especially from the "sunset chairs." We loved having fires each night and having a full kitchen to work with. There was also a washing machine, which was a plus.

    Michelle2013-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing cabin. Cozy doesn't even begin to describe it. We had an amazing time relaxing by the fire, picking mussels on the bay, and listening to the great music. Highly recommend for ANYONE. You won't regret it. Janice and Kevin were a dream, and I can't wait to come back.

    James 2013-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Kevin and Janice's cottage and it was even more magical this time around! There is so much character to his place you can't help but feel right at home immediately upon arrival. I don't want to spoil any of the many surprises this place holds but I can promise it will not disappoint. Kevin and Janice are the best of hosts, making you feel so welcome in their space. The cottage is beautiful, the view is spectacular and there is so much exploring to be done! We will be back again for sure! Thank you Kevin & Janice!!!

  • This spot is fantastic! Comfortable, clean, and very easy to walk to the town/shore. Plus there's a brewery across the street. I would certainly stay again!

  • Jill's place is a very cozy, cute little cottage. It is within walking distance to the town center and in a beautiful neighborhood. Check in was very easy. Mahone Bay and Lunenburg were so beautiful - so glad we visited. Thank you Jill for hosting us.

    Pinar2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little cottage in Mahone Bay, central location, charming decor. Jill was a pleasure to deal with, even though we were a last minute reservation. Super quick response to any messages we sent with questions. Cottage is well-equipped with anything you could need, and we were also greeted with a welcome basket including Nova Scotian wine and dog treats :) Could not have been happier and would definitely return.

    Angela2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This little spot is so perfect for easy access to the center of Mahone Bay! (and just a short drive to Lunenberg) And Jill is a wonderful host, so easygoing and friendly. She even left us some local wine and some dog biscuits as welcome gifts, as we were bringing our dogs! We could not be more grateful for this short but ever so sweet vacation, thanks to Jill, the cottage and the lovely town. Thank you, Jill!

    Jenny2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We originally booked the cottage on Main St, but Jill informed us that it wasn't available due to some technical issues. Because of this, she offered us another house (a larger Cape Cod style home) on the same lot. Jill was easy to reach, friendly and professional. The house we stayed in was very clean, nicely updated and decorated in a coastal/cottage theme. The house is just a short walk (10 mins) from the centre of Mahone Bay - it's a great location. You are on a main street, so expect some traffic noise. This didn't bother us at all. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck in the adirondack chairs. The bedrooms were cozy with lots of pillows and blankets provided. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils/dishes etc. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the lovely visit!

    Janelle2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage complimented our road trip across the Maritimes perfectly. We drove all the way up from Toronto to experience life in the Atlantic, and each day was filled with early mornings, adventures, new towns and lots (tons!) of coffee. We arrived at Jill’s cottage after visiting Peggy’s Cove (one of our favourite places). Although we never met Jill she made sure our arrival and checking-in would be simple. We were amazed by the rustic beauty of the little cottage. It was very cute and cozy and provided us with exactly what we needed. We were able to make a small thanksgiving dinner for ourselves, even our dog was ecstatic with the place as it was a very nice change from car camping. I couldn’t say enough good things about this place. Seriously, from the great hospitality to the cleanliness and coziness of the cottage, it was like a little getaway on its own. When we re-visit Nova Scotia we will definitely be staying here again.

Your room has an amazing 25 km view of the Bay with a private deck and shiny, bright bathroom next door. Our three storey house was completed a few years ago and has warm terrazza floors, cedar beams and a big modern kitchen. It is set in 30 acres of woodland but is also convenient for Lunenberg and Mahone Bay (40 minutes), Peggy's Cove (20minutes), Halifax (25 minutes), Wolfville (50minutes). Locally, we have farmers markets, a shopping area and several colourful cafes that serve lunch and coffee. There are also good hiking trails and bikes for hire. A local bus goes to Halifax, but public transport is limited. We both love to meet new people and cook so we leave you a home-made help yourself breakfast and may occasionally be able to offer supper. I work as an acupuncturist in an office at the bottom of our driveway, 10 minutes walk away and Colin is usually out doing something practical like fishing, building or gardening. If you like peace and quiet but easy access to people and places then this is the place for you.
Woods, rocks, trees, a steep and bumpy driveway.
  • We had a wonderful three night stay with Louise and Colin in their beautiful house in the forest. Their home is a special oasis with a view that makes you catch your breath and never want to leave. The bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets. We made use of the huge deck to do some star watching. We didn't have a chance to try out the inviting freestanding tub but I guess that leaves something to look forward to on our next visit. Our breakfasts of homemade bread, jams and granola were delicious and enjoyed as we sat on the deck and watched the wildlife. Louise and Colin are warm, generous and interesting hosts - going above and beyond to make our experience special. They found a bed for our son who joined us for one night before he settled into student living in Halifax. Colin sent him off with a large box of bounty from his impressive vegetable garden which was very thoughtful. We would not hesitate to recommend this special place to anyone looking for natural beauty, well appointed comfort and delightful hosts.

    Sarah2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Colin were the most warm and gracious hosts. The house was beautiful, the view fantastic, and breakfast was something I'm still dreaming about! It really felt like visiting old friends instead of staying at a hotel. Just marvellous.

    Bevan2014-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Colin are the consummate hosts! They immediately made me feel welcome and continually invited me to make myself at home. I never felt like I didn't belong there. And the house is simply gorgeous. The room is light and airy and wonderful. You have a fabulous view of the water during the day and the stars at night. The bathroom is truly an experience with windows all about. Don't miss out on the opportunity to stay here. It will be a highlight of your trip!

    Tracy2014-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the room was spectacular! Our experience was wonderful - it was like staying with friends. Louise and Colin were wonderful hosts! If you are ever in Halifax, a must is to stay with these wonderful people.

    Sue-Lee2013-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Colin are extremely hospitable and warm people! We were snowed in with them for the weekend, and it could not have been more pleasant. They welcomed us with open arms as their adopted children for the weekend. We enjoyed a beautiful, snowy walk led by Louise and their adorable pup, great conversation, delicious food, and simply just great company; it could not have been better! The view up there is amazing, and their house is absolutely stunning. This all made for a great weekend getaway from the bustle of the city. Whether you're just passing through Nova Scotia or are a long-time resident, their home serves as the perfect getaway; highly recommended! Thank you again, Louise & Colin!

    Shelby2013-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Everything at this location was as promised - except for the beautiful view - but that was no fault of Louise. Mother Nature decided to bring forth a heavy fog and rain while we stayed in Halifax. Louise prepared a delicious homemade granola and we enjoyed Colin's homemade bread for breakfast. I was also able to accompany Louise on her dogwalk through nearby trails. Louise managed to juggle visiting friends, cleaning ladies, and our own visit with great patience and attention to detail. I've always been proud of being Canadian, and I was pleased to see that Louise and Colin chose to make Canada their new home - and enjoy the natural beauty our country offers, even in the rain and fog.

    Kelly2014-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's and Colin's house is by far the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at (or that I have ever seen, to be precise). The view from the bedroom is absolutely amazing -- I couldn't imagine a better start of a day -- and the whole house is so cosy and bright and made me wish we could have stayed there for much longer. Louise and Colin were very kind, generous, interesting and uncomplicated hosts and offered us some good advice for our trip. I can highly recommend their home to anybody who would like to be delighted!

    Julia2013-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved Louise and Colin's home. The room was very clean and spacious, with a zen-like feeling (after a long long day of touring the province). The bedroom had an adjacent large balcony where you could sit outside and enjoy the breathtaking view of the upper St. Margaret's Bay Area. Their home was very welcoming and the large common area was a warm open-concept with a huge kitchen. Louise and Colin were delightful hosts. They are beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed our talks with them about everyday things, and they were very helpful in suggesting places to visit along the south shore. They even provided us with some homemade goodies in the morning. Absolutely delicious! Grazie! I loved their little dog. He welcomed us on both evenings, and I think he enjoyed our company. I would highly recommend Louise and Colin's home! You won't regret it! Merci beaucoup Louise and Colin for your hospitality! I will definitely return one day. Grazie!

The apartment is spanking clean, uncluttered and furnished with handmade love. It's a small space but the entire top floor apartment is yours and it is very well laid out with washer/dryer in kitchen.
10-15 minute walking distance to the city market, restaurants, bars, shopping, NB Museum, etc. 15 minutes walk to Rockwood Park. It is right next to the the Baptist Church and across the street from St Mary's Band Hall where you may be lucky enough to hear them practising as they often leave the doors open. A few of the houses nearby are in need of repair and we have taken that into account when setting pricing.
  • We were driving through to catch the ferry in St John and booked Emily and Judi's apartment to spend the night. We arrived late, but Emily and Judi were able to accommodate our late arrival and made us feel very welcome. The unit is nicely decorated, clean and cosy. We were sad we couldn't have spent a bit more time to enjoy it. Thanks for a great stay!

    Clark2014-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Judi met us at the apartment when we arrived from the ferry. She was super welcoming and sweet. She showed us around and gave us her daughter's list of . The place is even better then in the pics. it is truly well decorated and very comfy. My friend and I really appreciated this top airbnb listing and having our own room was great. Loved we could walk to uptown so quickly. Totally recommend!

  • What a lovely little find in St John, walking distance from the funky uptown area and St John market. Very stylish, clean and we love the Scandinavian modern interior. Judi was a lovely host and we had everything we needed in the apartment. The only thing I would recommend is knowing in advance that the place is right next to the main 100 through road and highway 1 interchange, so some earplugs for the noise of constant traffic. To help, Judi provided a noise cancellation device for light sleepers. Despite this, it was still worth staying in this time of year because it's too cold to have the windows open much and when shut, they insulate sound out very well. It was great to be able to cook, thanks for the complementary coffee, tea etc! We would stay again!

    Madelon2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "The Brinley." Although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Judi & Emily, Judi replied promptly to all of our messages and kindly accommodated our last-minute early check-in. The apartment was bright, spotless and decorated impeccably with lovely pops of colour, artwork, and books. The bottle of wine Judi left us was a nice touch and one we greatly appreciated. The highway is quite close-by which is great for getting an early start on day trips, and Uptown Saint John is about a 20 minute walk. Although the neighbourhood isn't the nicest and the neighbours across the street weren't the quietest, we still felt quite safe. We loved the hikes we did through Irving Nature Park and Rockwood Park - if you have kids or just love horses yourself make sure to stop at Rockwood Park Stables to pet the horses! The list of "Emily's Hangouts" were especially useful on days we didn't quite feel up to taking longer day trips. Overall a great home away from home!

    Allyson2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Emily was very helpful. The apartment is large, clean and conveniently located. It is nice to have space, a kitchen and laundry facilities while travelling.

    Jeffrey2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Judi waited and hosted us late the day of our arrival ! What a great vibe of energy ! She took the time to share with us all her best picks of Saint-John and even more ! We would have spend the night with her ;) Great apartment ! You can feel her daughter's Designer's touch in this small but very zen and convenient place. Just few steps (10 minutes) from the heart of the city and just 5 minutes from a nature marvel, named Rockwood Park !

    Pierre2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the Brinley. It was most definitely one of the more cosy airbnbs we have stayed in. Judi and Emily had a good eye for detail and knew how to anticipate our needs from an umbrella on a rainy day to coffee for the early mornings! We were grateful to be on the receiving end of their hospitality. After a long drive, the Brinley felt like a home away from home. Can't review it highly enough - would definitely recommend to others.

  • We loved staying at the Theatre Lofts! Everything we wanted to do was easily walkable from here. Andrew was kind enough to check in on us a few times to ensure that everything was perfect for us. We will be certain to return to this compact, but very comfortable flat.

  • This place is amazing, all that we hoped for and more, excellent communication, we had full confidence all the way, thanks guys.

  • My partner and I stated here with our 11 month old baby and have absolutely nothing to complain about! Close to everything, the condo was immaculate, great host! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • Very helpful and fast responses. Located in a hip, up and coming neighbourhood. Plus it is just a quick walk to downtown. Very useful information to be found in the loft regarding local establishments (where to eat, etc...)

    Sarah2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully/walkably close to the Citadel & downtown Halifax, this most comfortable, uber-contemporary condo is in a gradually gentrifying, very diverse neighborhood, featuring plenty of shops & bars, both alcoholic and coffee.

    Frank2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment and great location in Halifax. Andrew is a great host.

    Robert2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was a great host and all the directions were super clear and easy to follow. The condo itself was amazing - both warm and welcoming with a cool urban industrial feel. Absolutely love the wood paneling and the sheet metal sliding doors. It also was in a great location for balancing price and accessibility. The Atlantic Film Festival (highly recommended) was in town while we were there and it was easy to walk around and get to all the films we wanted to see as well as exploring Halifax.

Our hideaway is built with love: - 10 ft wide drop down movie screen - dining table on hoist - hottub - steam shower - piano - middle of Dal campus - stone heated floors - hidden queen bed, bunkbed, kitchen - local iPhone and bicycles
*** For Video of the Hideaway search for "4uzYfCW-x8c" on youtube. *** Using natural and used building products where possible, the space was designed to be rustically luxurious, playful, creative and welcoming. The 10 ft wide otherwise recessed movie screen comes down when the apple iTV (with access to netflicks, etc.) is turned on and is best viewed while in the hot tub or while lounging on a 9 piece sectional couch. Inspired by the mini-house movement, when the table in the back area is lowered the back area functions as a board room (or as a dining room when the L-shaped hidden kitchen armoire is opened). And when the in-wall control for the electric hoist is pressed, the table disappears and raises against the ceiling so the luxurious queen murphy bed can be pulled down from built in custom designed furniture when it is bedtime. The hidden sliding glass doors will allow you to keep the entire space open-concept, or gain privacy in the bedroom area and/or hot tub area as you desire. In the winter, the 2" thick stone floor is heated by in floor heating as well as the NG fireplace. Water is heated in part by solar panels. The steam shower competes well against the 6-8 person Hottub (4 ft deep, recessed into the ground 1 ft) for most relaxing. Every light in the space is dimmable and ready for whatever mood you want to create. 3 bicycles are available for use as is an iPhone with a local number (which requires you to pay the applicable local SIM card fees).
The space is in the heart of the Dalhousie campus. The public gardens is less than a 10 minute walk away.
  • Christians place was an absolute gem. The accommodations were better than the photos, which was a pleasant surprise. We were in town for a family hospitalization, and the Hideaway was a comfortable and luxurious retreat from the sterility of the hospital. It was relaxing to sit in the hot tub with the lights off next to the fire place, or sprawl out and watch a movie on the couch. I would not think twice about staying here, and neither should you!

    Sean2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We decided super last minute to take a little trip over from PEI before the three of us set off to separate parts of the world, but even with the short notice Christian was so incredibly accommodating and made our stay so fun & memorable. The original plan was to only spend one night in his space but we ended up staying for three nights thanks to Christian, taking full advantage of the hot tub and the unreal location!! One of the first things we noticed - besides how unique & beautiful the space truly is - was a pretty extensive guidebook, created by Christian himself, which details everything you will need to know during your stay here, including every gadget how-to and a map with nearby hot spots. Christian also has a really cool photo book capturing his entire basement renovation which really makes you appreciate the level of effort and detail put into the project. I honestly don't know where to start on the space itself - it is just simply a must-see and Christian has thought of literally everything. Staying the night as a few close friends was really intimate but you could also do a bit of celebrating, which Christian is really encouraging of: the basement is almost completely soundproof!! The hot tub is incredible and was the perfect escape from the cold, the fireplace really sets off the atmosphere, and the steam shower is unreal. Overall, this has been the best AirBnb experience I've had to date, and it's all credited to Christian. He is a true superhost: so welcoming, generous and personable. Guaranteed you'll love your stay here.

  • Myself and two friends stayed here for a girls getaway weekend and it was perfect it all aspects. It was clean, relaxing, close walk to amenities and Christian was a fabulous host. We will definitely be booking this spot again!

Christian was a wonderful host, answered all my questions , always there to help etc. His apartment is over the top gorgeous and so unique! ! • Christian was a gracious host, who was attentive to our requests. The apartment was as advertised, and located in a safe neiborhood. Downtown was a relatively short walk, and there were lots of food options close to the apt.

Indulge in what nature can bring you. The large windows make you feel like you are already outside. Mind you we have chairs and a hammock for your leisure outside. Breakfast is usually served outside as well. We want you to feel in peace with nature. Double size bed.
Relaxation. This is what you get when you enter this home by the lake. There are enough windows to see right through the house. Secluded in a wooded area, you will feel the calm enveloping you. Bring some books or an e-book. If you want to decompress, this is the place to be. You will leave fresh and ready for all life can bring you. There is an hammock in the summer and hopefully some ice skating in the winter. Very courteous and attentive service and friendly tips on the attractions. A good night sleep. We are 20 minute drive from the MacDonald Bridge crossing to Halifax. There are no restaurants within two minutes drive. Only one store. There is a community bus within three kilometers. Our place is unique as it has won an honorable mention in the Architectural Design Awards in 2006. There are not many homes in Halifax that have a room with a glass garage door facing a lake if any. You should check our Retreat by the Cove for a queen size bed.
It is very quiet and private and only 15 minutes from the city. We are ten minutes drive to Conrad beach and Lawrencetown beach. Lawrencetown beach is a well known place to surf. You can even rent the equipment and get a beginner's class.
  • Paul and Joey are a delightful couple. Every single space in their house is picture perfect. They were warm and welcoming and even in our short stay we enjoyed meaningful conversation. The breakfast was not only very flavorful but the presentation was so elegant. We would love to stay again.

    Kathy2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We spent three nights at Joey and Paul's beautiful home. The pictures on their profile reflect very well this very attractive and comfortable home. The hosts complement so well their home with their lovely personalities, their warmth, kindness and generosity. We enjoyed very much exchanging with them while sharing delicious breakfasts prepared by Joey, with love and passion. The last evening we shared a potluck dinner with the couple, that we will remember. The house is very clean, nicely furnished, functional. It is very spacious, and guests have plenty of space to be alone if they desire so or spend more time with the hosts. Everything seems organized in order to make the guests feel at home and responding to their needs. We arrived rather late (after 9pm) the first evening. Paul welcomed us very warmly, offered us a nice pot of tea with warm, delicious chocolate and fruit muffins, then showed us around. We felt at home immediately. After a pleasant exchange we went to bed. We slept very well, in a comfortable and fresh room. The house was very peaceful, beautiful view of the lake, fresh air coming through the opened window from the surrounding trees. It was very relaxing. We met Joey at breakfast the next morning, since he was out at a K.D. Lang concert in Halifax. He prepared an extraordinary breakfast, comprising a freshly made, delicious green smoothie, homemade waffles, complemented with a large variety of fresh seasonal fruit, good cheese and a homemade parsimone sauce and maple syrup. The plate was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Everything completed with excellent freshly brewed coffee. We had a very nice conversation with the hosts and two other guests. They gave us some very good suggestions for sightseeing and dining (the restaurant Rhubarb at Peggy's Cove was excellent in terms of interior, atmosphere, service and food, we highly recommend). We arrived late, our hosts waiting for us, with nice cup of herbal tea. We continued our pleasant exchange and getting to know each other. The breakfast on the second day was again a delicious Joey"s specialty: steel cut oatmeal, with lots of nuts, seeds, delicious fresh fruits and coffee. We loved it. Then we agreed to prepare a diner together. Joey made a delicious Ceaser's salad and side vegetables of yellow string beans and scalloped potatoes, while Amra made a popular Bosnian fyllo pastry dish called burek, stuffed with ground beef, spiced with onions and black pepper. All accompanied by good local red wine. We enjoyed the evening very much. The last morning Joey surprised us with yet another breakfast special: fish cakes with poached eggs, fruits, good local bread. Everything was delicious. We wished we could stay longer in that beautiful and welcoming place. We would have liked to enjoy the lake and the beautiful grounds around the house a little bit longer, but we had a reservation in Cape Breton for that evening. Leaving we felt that we met new...

  • excellent accommodation , warm and helpful, both of them were extremely beautiful people and left a great impression on us.

  • My time at Joey & Paul's was THE best. And I've travelled a lot! They exude such a generosity of spirit and their hospitality is truly unmatched. The place was comfortable, details and thoughtful touches are seen in every aspect of the visit and the morning breakfast is magazine worthy! This is a location that requires a vehicle (there may be a bus close by). There is ample parking. The pictures don't do the home justice. The home and surroundings are even more beautiful in person. The bathroom has an incredible soaking tub and shower combo. There is a hot tub (sadly I didn't get to use it). The bathroom is shared with guests in the second bedroom rental. It didn't feel at all awkward to share because we all became instant friends (that's just how it feels at Joey & Paul's place). There was a lovely robe available, extra towels, shampoo, body wash and conditioner. I was invited to sit with Joey for several meditations in a stunning room that overlooks the lake. Lovely experience! I was also included in several activities with them which as hosts, went way above and beyond any BnB experience I've had in the past. If you want an exceptional experience, this is one listing I would snap up right away!

  • My husband and I arrived at Paul and Joey's modern, sleek, quiet oasis last weekend and were offered a choice of 2 back-to-back bedrooms. Both were next door to the bathroom; we chose the one with the new queen bed. After settling in, we ventured to Halifax for a wonderful dinner. Upon return, we were alone and enjoyed the last rays of light over the tranquil lake. Unfortunately we didn't stay in the hot tub long due to high chlorine vapors and mosquitoes. We awoke to early morning light (no shades on the windows) and saw their artfully decorated home. The highlight of our day was our generous homemade breakfast spread (which rivaled most B&Bs) shared with Joey and Paul. It was hard to leave as we hung out at the table talking; like visiting with family/friends. Note: The living quarters are accessible on the main floor; bed and bath/shower are high.

    Gail2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Joey were the consummate hosts! We arrived later than we expected and they were very welcoming and accommodating. The space was immaculate and serene. Very peaceful and Joey made us an awesome breakfast that catered to our dietary preferences. My husband was exhausted when he arrived and felt vey rejuvenated from one night. We wished we could have stayed longer. It was wonderful to visit with Joey and Paul and conversed as if in the company of good friends. We felt nourished by the hosts and the tranquil setting. We would welcome the chance to stay here again and would highly recommend it to fellow travellers. Robyn & Jason

  • What more could we say about what terrific hosts Joey and Paul were! The views and 'retreat like' atmosphere of their home combined with Joey's attention to detail and over the top breakfast were all more than expected. The luxurious wahroom and clean and tidy room were very comfortable. If you are looking for something tucked away from the huddle and bustle of downtown but still close enough to explore everything-this is a great place to consider that you won't regret. Thank you Paul and especially Joey-we won't forget our stay in Halifax-you helped make it a special one :) Kirk & Cat

Located in Halifax's North End, this unique suite is clean & stylish, blending original features of the mid-century house with new fixtures & utilities. Minutes from liquor & grocery stores, a shopping mall, cafes & restaurants, the historic Hydrostone Market, and a 35 min walk or short bus ride to the downtown core. If you're driving, I have parking and the house is not far from the highway & the rest of NS. Need tips on what to do? See my guidebook - there are many uncharted spots to explore!
The kitchenette (not a full kitchen) includes the following utilities: - countertop - small fridge - microwave - hot plate - electric kettle - Tassimo coffee maker - coffee press - plates, cups, knives/forks/spoons - corkscrew - cutting board and knife. There is also a flatscreen + Apple TV (with Netflix and movie rental capability) and a washer / dryer for your use. Also there is a private & spacious shower, some books about NS, a comfy swivel chair, 3 vintage chairs and a multi-purpose table. The unit is located on the lower level of my house.
The neighbourhood is quiet, clean and well positioned to explore both the city core and get out of town quickly on the highway. The immediate area is residential, a great place to walk (especially up and around Dublin Street) in the Summer and Fall seasons. It is about a 35 minute walk to downtown - best to pass through the large sports field ("The Commons") - and/or stay and explore around the area and check out the Hydrostone Market nearby or one of the restaurants/bars nearby, such as Brooklyn Warehouse, Good Robot, Mother's, Salvatore's, Unfiltered, Lion and Bright, Agricola Street Brasserie and more. Local Jo's is a decent café, just over on Oxford, 2 blocks away, or even better is Julien's cafe and bakery or Humani-T in the Hydrostone.
  • Very private, neat/tidy and welcoming environment. Host did a great job making the space comfortable like being at home with all the amenities.

  • Andrew was a wonderful host and the space is exactly as it looks in the photos! I stayed for nearly a week while visiting my sister in Halifax and this was the perfect place to rest after long days exploring and shopping. The space is comfortable, the shower is spacious and everything was very clean and clearly recently renovated.

  • Andrew was a wonderful host who provided us with plenty of details prior to our arrival, which made things extremely easy. He goes above and beyond to ensure his guests are comfortable and are informed about the area. The place itself is very cool and ideal for anyone looking to see the city of Halifax. There is the convenience of a washer/dryer within the studio as well. I highly recommend this listing and would request it again if my travels were to take me back to Nova Scotia. - Dan

  • What a great place! My husband, 2.5 yr old daughter and I stayed for 3 nights. Andrew has it set up perfectly. Everything you need is there from hairdryer, washer/dryer, apple TV, guide books, personal recommendations, desk area, microwave...I could go on and on. We've stayed at a few Air BnBs all over and this one was the most organized. The bed and sheets were super comfy! We had the best sleeps:) and his location is very convenient to everything you want to see in Halifax (quick drive or nice 30min walk downtown). Andrew is very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!

Entire top floor of multi unit home in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, Canada. Waterfront with breathtaking views of McNabs and Lawlers Island Provincial Parks. Less than 5 minutes from Fisherman's Cove, boardwalk, & beach. 20 minutes from downtown Halifax. Large flat, private deck.
Waterfront living in an old east coast fishing village that is growing up with the City of Halifax. Best of both worlds, close to the city but the peace and quiet of a small community.
Originally a fishing village, Eastern Passage is now a suburb of the City of Halifax. The owners great grandparents where from Devil's Island at the mouth of the harbour.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ryan's studio apartment. It was better than described. We also appreciated the prompt and friendly communication with Ryan (via his parents) before our arrival. The apartment was nice & clean and the location was perfect. The views of the water from the third floor balcony were stunning. The lights on the balcony at night added extra atmosphere. We had never been to the area before and we liked being close to Fisherman's Village (for touristy stuff) and also appreciated the close proximity to Sobey's for groceries. We were happy to find that Ryan's place is located directly across the water from McNabs island, one of Trip Advisor's highly rated "things to do" in the Halifax area. We booked transportation for ourselves and our bikes via a ferry company in Fisherman's Village for $20pp. We biked on the historic island (no cars, few people, lots of water & scenery) for most of the day and then relaxed in the apartment for the remainder. Everything was great and we are glad to have found Ryan's place on Airbnb. A nice location and a tremendous value. Thanks Ryan!

  • Ryan was the perfect host and his upstairs apartment was great; easy to find; had everything I need. He was there to greet me and familiarize me with the apartment. Great spot to venture out from on my travels. Close to airport and Halifax.

    Carol2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's place is a great space for a couple or family. It is out of the city but close (driving distance) to Dartmouth and Halifax. It was perfect for us as we were in the area so our dog could have a veterinary procedure. Ryan and his family were welcoming and kind to all of us! We'll definitely book again when we're in the area. Thank you!

  • My boyfriend and I booked two nights in May for my birthday weekend and it was a great stay! It was actually our first time using Airbnb and Ryan made the entire experience so simple! He was very accommodating when our check in time kept changing and even though we weren't able to check in until late, he was still there to greet us and give us a tour! The apartment itself was so clean and cozy and had everything we needed for the weekend. Now the only problem is finding time in our schedules this summer to visit again! Thank you for everything, Ryan!

    Eilish2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our plans were kinda all over the place the night we stayed, but Ryan was super hospitable each time I messaged him with a different agenda! I like not having to stick with a concrete plan - that's what traveling's all about. When Ryan said he may step out for the evening (as he should it was a Saturday night!) he left us detailed instructions to find our way comfortably into the apartment. When we arrived Ryan was home which I was very happy about. It's always nice to meet your host, especially one as friendly as Ryan :)

  • Ryan was a perfect host warm and welcoming - and the flat was everything we wanted for a nice quiet stay outside of the busy city. Stunning view, gorgeous flat and a private entrance was even better than a hotel! Super clean and adorble furnishings, the huge bathtub was also a highlight! Wish we could have stayed longer in this little slice of paradise. Only minutes away from the restaurants and grocery store. :) Thanks so much for having us Ryan!

Rustic, cozy, character filled ocean front cottage on St Margaret's Bay. 3 min walk to private beach, 5 min walk to Bayswater Beach, 20 mins from hubbard's on the tip on the Aspotogan Peninsula. Quiet, quaint, comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful.
The oldest cottage in the area lovingly kept and cared for. A unique space to spend any amount of time.
We are 20 mins from Hubbards! 30 mins from Chester! 40 from Lunenberg. 50 mins from Peggy's cove. 1 hour from Halifax and the airport. There is so much to see, do and explore!
  • The Cottage has great potential. Rustic, spacious and casual. Centrally located for the south shore experience.

    John2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at Kate and Mike’s cottage was a complete treat! A beautiful spot right on the water (with lots of fun little paths zigzagging their way there)and minutes from the beach left much room for walking, rock exploring, and wave jumping. The cottage itself was an ideal setup for our family of four. It’s rare that we find a place set up for kids as well as this place was. The loft playroom(fully set up with toys, DVD’s, and books) was a favorite of the kids and kept them busy for hours. There was much else to enjoy about this cottage but whether it was raining out and we stayed cozy inside or it was sunny and we explored outside – our stay at the cottage was lovely! We can’t wait to visit again!

    Celeste2017-09-07T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Bayswater cottage. Kate was very accommodating and helpful with any questions we had. The cottage was clean and tidy with plenty of room. We loved the location, beautiful sunrises and the ocean view. Thanks Kate! It's the kind of place we would love to come back to.

The flat has two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom with shower. It is perfectly located, literally on Dalhousie University campus, just a few blocks away from the heart of downtown and the hospitals. There are other 3 independent units in the house. See the detailed description (below) for links.
Live in a historic house from 1896 with original hardwood floors, 9-feet ceilings, antique stained glass windows, and shellacked wooden stairs, doors and accents. A true Victorian atmosphere! The house has 4 independent units. All units share a common foyer entrance, but each unit has its own bathroom(s) and kitchen. Although none of the units have a living room, there is a shared living area in the foyer area on the second floor. See links below to see each unit: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13727309 https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13742986 https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13743657 https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13721952 PARKING: There is ample parking space at the back of the house.
Our house is located in the so called "South End" neighbourhood. It is just beautiful! It is a residential area mainly made of "Victorian style" old houses. The neighbourhood is also home to Dalhousie University, and our house is literally on Campus. The neighbourhood is safe, clean and full of trees. It is inhabited mainly by middle and upper-middle class families (several schools around). During the day, you'll see lots of university students walking from one class to another. This neighbourhood is sought-after because of its strategically central location, walking distance to downtown and all Halifax's attractions.
  • This was a great apartment! Super close to downtown and everything was exactly as described. Very spacious and very clean. I would recommend any of Cinthia's listings, and would definitely stay with her again!

  • Great value and great location. Place is exactly as advertised.

    Erica2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Although this house is charming it is clearly student housing that is being used as airbnb in off school times to earn extra income. The furniture is all old and worn out, beds are doubles with old saggy mattresses. The kitchen chairs are all stained, the futon is old and all you feel when you sit are the bars. We did not receive enough towels for three guest for 4 days and there were no face cloths. There was no kleenex and no paper towels. There was also no other source of lighting in the common area other than the ceiling fixture. With there being no air we found having no screens on the windows let bugs in when left open for air. There are signs all over to remove your shoes to preserve the hard wood floors and stairs which would be fine if the units were a bit better furnished and maintained. We would not stay there again.

    Donna2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as advertised, charming and clean. The location is perfect if your stay involves the IWK or Dalhousie University. If you don't mind a short walk, you have access to a full array of sports bars, restaurants, tourist attractions, and shops. Once the late-night hooting and howling from the street outside died down, the house was utterly quiet although all four rooms were occupied.

  • Excellent location close to Dal campus, roomy two bedroom unit with two bathrooms, kitchenette will allow you to make a simple meal. Bed is comfy, bathroom is efficient and modern. Cinthia was very quick to communicate with us and respond, and allowed us to leave our vehicle in the back after checkout - very convenient in downtown area. Will definitely recommend to others and will plan to stay here again. Excellent value.

    Diane2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and we'll suited place, located not too far from central Halifax. It felt like home :)

    Aaron2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Cinthia's place. Her flat is very cute and in walking distance from many restaurants, pubs, and the hospitals. Cinthia was very accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home for two weeks.

    Jenny2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Cinthia's for a night before visiting with family elsewhere in the province. It was the perfect place for us. We had hoped to stay near the campus so we could introduce it to my daughter, who is considering Dalhousie for her university years. Staying ON campus proved even better! We enjoyed the spacious rooms with their big windows and high ceilings. It was convenient to have two baths. Edward Street was an easy walk downtown to the harbour and citadel. Everything was clean and as pictured, and communication and check in were excellent. Thanks for a great stay!

(Very)Small country home nestled in the Saint John River valley. One bedroom, with one attached tiny bedroom. One bathroom (shower, sink, toilet and washing machine), Full kitchen with a few essentials like tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, cooking oil and a few other extras - and a new fridge with freezer compartment. There is no Internet and TV is limited to 1 channel.
The house is very small, cozy and cottage like. It is a fairly old little house which has been through many restorations. The surrounding mature forest is comprised of a beautiful mixture of birch, maple, pine, spruce, cedar, and ash species which supports an equally diverse population of wildlife.
Rural atmosphere, farmers, cottagers, peace and quiet. The neighbours are friendly and sell fresh eggs from their beloved chickens.
  • Elita's house is a nice, comfortable and cozy cottage as described in the listing. Elita is a real nice lady and very responsive and helpful. We stayed 7 nights in her property and enjoyed a lot and we are going to stay again in the near future.

    Ali2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely cottage house to stay at! The fridge was stocked with vegetables when we arrived and everything else was very well organized. One thing to note is that it's fridge only, no freezer compartment. There is a wood stove in the house and it's nice to sit in front of it in the evening. Elita was very responsive and accessible. The house is on the peninsula but it's only 10 minute drive to the ferry and the ferry only takes 5 minutes. Unique experience for sure.

    Joyce2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cottage with a great covered outdoor space. A bit of a hike to destinations of interest but for the price it was a great option.

    Julius2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was beautiful. The location was quiet and forested, and the house was well equipped, clean, and cozy. Communication was great.

    Ryan 2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little home in a lovely area. My children fell in love with a tiny room tucked under the eves that had a futon just long enough for them to stretch out on. We enjoyed reading on the porch and exploring nearby trails. Elita was absolutely wonderful - great at communicating, and graciously worked with us when our plans changed related to some family circumstances.

    Laura2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The location was beautiful and the cottage was lovely! It provided the quiet RnR we wanted, while still being close enough to towns and cities to be able to head out when we wanted. Elita was very prompt in communicating and answering our questions- fantastic host! As much as we loved the location, we advise getting groceries all at once. While not far for one stop, amenities were a bit far to make quick stops for one of two items. The cottage was also clean, but the bedroom could get quite hot. A portable fan could be nice. Also screens on windows to prevent visits from flys. Perhaps because we're from a city and are used to having to worry about privacy, but we also thought curtains on the window at the end of the stairs would have been nice. We also agree with a below reviewer that a railing in the stairs would have helped with safety- as well as some sort of anti slip traction. Overall, though, we loved the cottage and felt it's fantastic value for the money. We hope to be able to book Elita's lovely yellow country home when we visit NB again next year! Thanks again Elita!

  • Our stay at this home was great it had all the necessary needs as well as nice decorating touches making it feel like your own home. The area was of interest for hiking and visiting, close enough to St. John for any needs of the city. the ferry was a quick trip and added to the uniqueness of the area.

Welcome to my Original 1875 Provincial Jail that’s now my home. Close to Sackville and Moncton as well at the Trans Canada, YOI are welcomed to spend a night in Jail. But remember / it’s an old Jail with “history”... a great sleep knowing you’re getting out in the morning. Lots of cells I can handle groups up to 16. A Jail. Really. We have converted several original Jail Cells into nice accommodations. A guest room, one shared TV, great fast fast WiFi, and a fully equipped workout gym. Tours+
Formerly New Brunswick's Dorchester County Jail, this is now my personal, private residence. The building is unique, it has the original cells and locks, Jail doors - even handcuffs and leg irons... Unrestored and original, I've made the cells comfortable, but still maintaining the original look and feel. You'll have a comfortable and interesting min tour of the Jail. You will have Total Privacy... but the cells are unlocked - do not leave valuables in cells. You will be able to explore the town and surrounding area. The surrounding community is breathtaking. Special tours are available. Room for up to 12 people, base price is one person per single cell, we have double cells, bunks, and larger rooms for larger parties and events. Complete Booking of the cell bank is available for parties and gatherings. We also ask that you bring your own luxuries as you'll get the jail cell, and that's all.
With the view of the historic bay in front of the Jail, Dorchester has so much to explore. Like haunted houses ? Let me know
  • Super interesting and spooky. Bill has many many stories of the jail and the area that will surprise you. Great experience and even comfy beds in the cells! :)

    Maureen2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great experience, great host, great time.

    Sue2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The jail is exactly as described. If you are adventurous and looking to do something out of the ordinary this is the place. Bill was a wonderful host, friendly and great communication with booking. We were given a tour of the jail along with the history of the building. Can't recommend this unique experience enough and we would gladly go back!

    crystal2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to experience a realistic night in an old jail, this is the place.

    Hester2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience that I would certainly do again.

    Lori2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • My 20 yr old niece and I stayed here for a night. Such a unique experience. So much interesting history within this building. Bill, Natasha, and even their lil three you old were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend people, whom are looking for a different experience, to book a jail sell here.

    Lisa2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay, my jail cell was cozy and my bed comfortable. Natasha was a great host.

    Katie2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • You won't have this experience anywhere else. Enough of the old cells has been left for authenticity but the bed is comfortable and it was amazingly (URL HIDDEN) is located near Cape Dorchester so you can combine the stay with a trip to see the amazing sandpipers. This was an adventure. Don't miss it!

  • The townhouse was clean, exactly as presented in a nice location in Halifax. We had a great time and Laurenn was very nice.

    Mary Jo2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Highly reccomend staying at Laurenn's place!!! Felt like home! Laurenn is very easy to reach and responds quickly. Check-in/out was very simple. Everything was very clean. There was a designated parking spot. Downtown was about a 30 minute walk, we did it on multiple days without a problem. We ended up bussing home after one long day and it was only one bus and their home is very close to a stop. We were traveling with our baby for the first time - there is a third bedroom used as a nursery and she had taken out a number of baby items for us to use during our stay. So kind and so helpful! Ideal place to stay with or without kids! Thanks again Laurenn!

    Tiffany2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! Clean, inviting, roomy lots of amenities, comfortable beds, great instruction book, good location.... Wish we could have stayed longer! Would highly recommend Lauren's place.

    Ken2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The space was more than adequate for our party of four. Several stores were very easily accessible. We found the beds very comfortable and didn't make us long for our bed at home, which would be a first. Definitely recommend to other travels and would consider staying here again in the future. Laurenn was very responsive when I asked questions.

    Ernestine2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Louren is very friendly and welcoming! Her townhouse is really beautiful, comfortable, clean and bright. Next time in Halifax I would like to stay here again.

    Kate2016-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • 20 minutes walk or 8 minutes drive to downtown / waterfront / the Citadel and all nice parks. The suite is clean and extremely well equipped, from the electronics, kitchen stuff and all other things needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend to anyone, short or longer stay. Thank you Laurenn for hosting us!

    Adrian2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with 2 friends for one night in Laurenn's lovely house. Communication, checkin and checkout was easy and quick. The house itself is very nicely decorated and spacious. We felt like home when we entered the door. Beds, rooms and everything was really nice. They also have a little guest book with tips and recommendations for Halifax. All in all a superb stay.

Hotel set up. En suite bathroom, king bed, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker & 48 inch TV with Netflix. Extras: local cell phone, heated mattress pad, Bluetooth speaker and android tablet in the suite for use. 3 min walk from grocery, liquor store, pharmacy, bus routes, banks and restaurants. QEII Hospital: 15 min walk Downtown: 35 min walk Myself and my rental spaces are 2SLGBTQ+ friendly and anti-racist. Flat is not wheelchair accessible - 5 stairs up to the unit.
This is the living room of our flat that I've blocked off from the rest of the apartment (walled off and locking doors) and converted into a private guest suite. There isa king size bed. It's locked off from the rest of my flat. There is no shared access to a kitchen or living space in our apartment. You have your own entrance to the room, a private en suite bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower), as well as a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, and coffee maker. The door to the rest of our flat closes and locks. So it's very private. It's set up like a hotel room. Like a hotel room is a very accurate description of this set up. It is a small space, for at most 2 people. The shower is a stand up shower and isn't really large. I love this location because it's easy access to downtown and major attractions but still in a quiet neighbourhood on a gated street. On major bus routes and it's a 5 minute cab (or 35 min walk) to downtown. Some people think that is close to downtown and some people find it far. All depends on your perspective. All I can say is that by Halifax standards it's extremely central and a very easy walk downtown. QEII Hospital: 15 min walk Spring Garden Rd (downtown): 23 min walk Waterfront: 32 min walk
The Quinpool District of Halifax is our personal favourite because it's close to all of the fun but far enough to get a quiet sleep. The flat is a 2 minute walk to necessities such as groceries, wine/beer store, pharmacy, gas station and all main public transit stops. Yukon Street is located two streets parallel to Quinpool Road, home to some of Halifax's most diverse and affordable restaurants, pubs and diners (Greek, Mediterranean, Korean, Chinese, Sushi, etc.) Everything you could possibly want is a five minute walk from the flat. Some people think we are close to downtown and some people find it far. All depends on your perspective. All we can say is that by Halifax standards it's extremely central and a very easy walk downtown. The Halifax Commons, including basketball, tennis courts, baseball fields and skate park) are a few blocks away from the space - about a 12 minute walk. There is also a public swimming pool and kids park including a fun water feature for the young ones. If you want to explore the Downtown core or the artsy and hip North End, they are only a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive away.
  • Georgia and Lee-Anne's place is perfect for Halifax. Easy to find, Lee-Anne was there to meet me at the arranged time, show me around, etc. Quiet street close to shopping and liquor store. The apartment is very comfortable - after only 3 days it felt like home. Thanks for the stay!

    Nicholas2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! The new bed (now in place of the pull out couch) was so comfortable (not too soft, not too hard) and there is even a heated mattress pad that I could turn on or off (or adjust) and made my feet toasty warm within minutes of getting in bed (though the room was otherwise warm enough and made warmer if I wanted by a space heater). I slept like a dream. This room is closed off from the rest of the house and very private with its own front entrance. I didn't hear a peep out of Georgia and Lee-Ann or anyone else. Each time I walked in I felt cozy and welcomed, even without anyone else there. I recall another review mentioning some 'old building' smell of a kind, but it's just that neat authentic scent of old wood in buildings in this region - I liked it, but its subtler in the room (vs the private front foyer) and it disappeared after a very short bit anyhow. But the room doesn't feel old otherwise - they've kept everything classic but updated and comfortable. Very cozy. It's in a traditional Halifax neighborhood on a very quiet street with family homes. It's a block away from a large supermarket, pharmacy (and liquor store), and the same distance to banks, restaurants, cafes and shops. I like to walk, so the 15 - 20 minute jaunt to further restaurants and downtown was fine by me. But calling a cab was easy too. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    Aria2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, convenient room with your own entrance and private bathroom. The sleeping bed is your typical pullout sofa, so if you're OK with that, you'll sleep just fine. Hosts had everything detailed and easy to use, with a thoughtful welcoming gift of fruits and sweets. I definitely recommend this place.

    Israa2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great room and exactly where we wanted to be in Halifax. Georgie and Lee-Anne were great hosts and the communication made everything so easy!

    vanessa2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • For a long or a short stay this location has everything you need! We were greeted with a warm welcome and short tour and were left to get settled. The apartment is extremely spacious and well laid out. We stayed for 3 weeks and never felt like we were without anything we needed. Felt just like home. Laundry being included was a great luxury. Lee-Anne was sure to check in to make sure that our stay was going well.

    mitch2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Georgie and Lee-Anne's place was very convenient with many restaurants around and close to the university. Other than the room being a bit dark (main overhead light was out at the time), I had a great stay overall.

    Andy2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The attention to detail was wonderful! So many thoughtful touches...especially the chocolate!

    Joanne2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a really lovely stay in Georgia and Lee-Anne's room! They were very helpful and clear in correspondence before my arrival. The room felt very private and comfortable, beautifully furnished. They included a lot of small touches to make it feel welcoming. It's a great location, very quiet but close to a supermarket and about a half hour walk from downtown/waterfront. I couldn't've asked for more, and wish I could've stayed longer!

Why stay downtown among tourists when you can be a short walk away and experience a neighbourhood where all the hip and artistic Haligonians live? Bright & spacious one-bedroom apartment, with a comfy queen-size bed, located in an eclectic area with trendy shops, micro-breweries, restaurants, central bus stop all less than 5 min walk away and a 20 min walk to downtown. A great base for making day trips to Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Annapolis Valley and lovely beaches.
The Busch House is a registered Heritage Property and one of Halifax's oldest homes. There's a spacious and airy bedroom with a queen sized-bed, newly renovated bathroom with clawfoot tub, comfy living room with a pull-out sofa bed, original art and a good-sized and fully-equipped kitchen. High-ceilings, hardwood floors, good quality cotton towels, sheets and pillows. There are lots of tourist brochures and a thorough list of Amy and John's favourite places in the neighbourhood. A pack-and-play is available upon request.
Our place is not downtown, but it is in a genuine urban neighbourhood that is considered the coolest up-and-coming area of Halifax. It is on an eclectic residential street sandwiched between the trendy Agricola street area and the characterful Gottingen Street community. A neat balance of old and new, hipster and gritty, artsy and blue-collar, it is a racially and economically diverse neighbourhood with strong ties to African-Nova Scotian culture. It is gentrifying quickly though - which is a hot topic of debate in our small city. We love the cafes, restaurants and shops that are just a couple of blocks away. We have a long list of tips for places to get the best coffee, beer, pastries, vegan food, drinks, etc in a detailed guide that we provide our guests. Halifax is a small city - so although our neighbourhood is the 'trendy' area of Halifax, keep in mind that it isn't as large as a hip neighbourhood in NYC, San Francisco, Vancouver, TO or Montreal would. It is a down-to-earth mircrocosm of a cool area in a bigger city with lots of quirky little shops, eateries and people.
  • Great apartment in a fantastic location, John and Amy were wonderful, very welcoming and gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area.

    Penny2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • John and Amy's place was perfect for us. The house was very clean and everything was provided. The house was very charming and the location was just right...easy access to various day trips and close to downtown. Our favorite day trip was driving along the South shore visiting Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. We had a wonderful week and would recommend John and Amy's house for anyone visiting Halifax and surrounding areas. Thank you both. Karen and Michael

  • John and Amy did a great job of making our stay great. They explained everything very well. It is a cute house that has been very well maintained, considering the age of the house. I would highly recommend it. It is close to nice coffee shops, pubs and bakeries.

  • This was a beautiful apartment in a lovely part of the city - surrounded by many great restaurants and cafes, and not too far from downtown. The space had lots of room and every amenity we needed. Although we didn't actually meet our hosts, they made it easy for us to check in/out and were available if we needed anything during our stay. Thanks John and Amy!

  • Fantastic home is exactly as pretty as it looks, with an easy walk to so many great locations in the North end, as well as downtown. Nice and quiet neighborhood at night, with some 2am options still existing close by for those of a late night inclination. John & Amy were prompt in communication whenever we needed it and very hands off when we were doing our own thing. Would definitely go back anytime.

    Kevin2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very friendly, gracious and welcoming. The place was beautiful, even better than in the photographs as they had redecorated. Every little detail was so thoughtful - from leaving growlers on the counter to fill at breweries nearby, to tourist pamphlets for Halifax. Since we were they're first BnBers, they even left us a bottle of wine! They were readily available by text to answer any questions and make recommendations on places to dine. The neighbourhood was also lovely - intimate and low-key, and only 20 min walk to downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

    Joni2015-06-16T00:00:00Z

Stay in a newly renovated historic halifax flat located across from the naval museum and close to all amenities. You will be able to enjoy your view of the navy yards and glimpses of the harbour from the balcony and drink from one of a kind ceramics.
Lovingly restored this halifax gem has exposed ceilings, push button light switches, a 6ft bathtub, original floors and a front balcony where you can enjoy a stunning view of the bridge.
Located in the heart of the north end halifax this neighbourhood has everything that you could need within walking distance. There is local watering holes restaurants, shops and naval museum directly across the street.
  • Beautiful, beautiful place. Very artistic/bohemian. Well stocked. Well located. Could not tell by the listing but there is 1 bedroom with double bed and one bedroom with single bed. Perfect for a family with one child. Groceries within a 10 minute walk. Northend best part of Halifax.

  • Bunnito's place was amazing! I've never seen or been in as comfortable and nice place as it is. I wish I could live in a place like this. Unfortunately we stayed at Halifax just two night, but if I ever get back (as I'm already planning to do), this will be my first choice. It was easy to come and easy to go. We met the owner when leaving and she was so nice and helpful!

  • My family was visiting for 4 days during my graduation and decided to stay at this beautiful, historic house. The space was very unique and everything was very clean and organized. The host had everything prepared, which was very helpful as my parents got in around 2am in the morning. It was all hassle free and they were very easy to reach and get everything sorted out! • Sandra is the ideal air b&b host. She truly cares about her visitors having a positive experience. We loved her unique touches in this fascinating home. Fresh tomatoes from her garden left for us was wonderful! We felt more like her neighbours than her tenants. We wish her well with the restoration of this historical home which survived the Halifax explosion of 1917! We would certainly return to stay here if the opportunity arises.

Welcome! Bienvenue! Cosy and comfortable Brook Cottage is a gentle stroll from the astonishing beach and tides of the Bay of Fundy, in beautiful Port Greville. Calming and serene on 5 acres bordered by a babbling brook, the land is wild and lush with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Amble over the land and up the hill to gaze out over the Atlantic Ocean and feel the sea breezes; ramble down to the end of the road and wade into the sea foam.. This bright and furnished 2-bedroom cottage has windows on all sides and can comfortably sleep four, with a cot and a couch and so potential for more. The cottage has a four-piece bathroom (tub & shower), as well as wireless, a BBQ, firepit, deck, outdoor chairs, TV/DVD, full-sized fridge and stove, microwave, books, games, etc. Parking for trailer/camper is available too. As much as possible, we use natural cleaning products and hang-dry the linens. Nearby amenities and attractions include a country store (ice cream, liquor, gifts, stamps, basic grocery/sundry, - 5 min. walk), a ship-building museum (20 min. walk), a dinosaur and geological museum in nearby Parrsboro (25min. drive), Cape Chignecto Provincial Park and the Wild Caraway seasonal restaurant (35 min. drive), and local activities such as kayaking, paragliding, boating, hiking, horseback-riding, fossil-collecting, etc.
  • I loved staying at Dave & CoCo's cottage ! It was dry, warm, cozy, clean, & cute !! Bonus points for allowing dogs ! We will be back !

    Kim2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My hosts made me feel very welcome, with a lovely note and plenty of contact beforehand. They offered all kinds of information about the area. The house is clean and comfortable, and just a short walk to the beach. Beautiful area and I'd definitely recommend this place to others!

    Christina2014-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location and a great little cottage with everything we needed. We arrived on a rainy afternoon and the heating was already on! Colleen and Dave gave fantastic advice on things to do and see around the Bay of Fundy. Also called on the night of our arrival to make sure everything was ok. Would definitely stay here again maybe in the summer next time!

    Steve2014-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at brook cottage. A beautiful beach and amazing view steps from the front door. Such an inspiring setting!

    Chris & Nelly2013-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough positive things about my experience staying at Colleen & Dave's sweet cottage. They are warm, welcoming hosts, awesome with communication and incredibly helpful. I feel lucky to now call them friends. I stayed for a full month in the cottage, and found the beautiful landscape to be transformative. If you aren't familiar with the area, I highly recommend taking time to explore the immediate surroundings and venturing out to the national parks and coastal towns. The sea is just a stroll from the cottage, and going up the hill is lush green rolling landscape, views, and wild blueberries! Colleen and Dave gave great suggestions and had lots of information in the cottage about areas of interest. The cottage itself is just as advertised, all the amenities you might need, cool little nooks and decor, clean and private. I can't wait to return for another visit!

    Beth2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was so amazing. Colleen and Dave (although we didn't meet them) were very helpful and the cottage was so well kept. A short walk to the ocean made our stay even better. Everything was laid out well (internet passwords, instructions for the keys, etc). All in all, I can't wait to come back in the summer.

    Cameron2014-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very basic, but perfect for our needs. Clean and all amenities in great working condition. Just a quick 5 minute stroll to the ocean. A great spot to stay in order to see a spectacular part of the province. I'm sure we'll be back. Thanks.

Modern w/ AC, spacious & bright basement suite (8ft ceilings) ft. private entrance, washroom & space for 2 queen beds. You have sole access to the entire level which also includes a tv room (50in & Netflix) & laundry. Current kitchen amenities: table/chairs, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle & Keurig. Your view overlooks the back harbour of Lunenburg and we are only 800m to the town's famous waterfront, less to shops/restaurants & less than 100m to the Bay to Bay trail.
The recently renovated basement suite features light, airy colours and plenty of natural light that truly makes you forget that you are in a basement. The main sleeping area has a queen bed with a memory foam topper and comfortable bedding and new pillows to make you feel at home. This space has both a door and a full length curtain. If needed, a second queen bed with quilted mattress protector, a cradle and an air mattress can be setup in the suite. There is a spacious private washroom with a shower and many basic toiletries available for your stay. The TV room has a traditional couch, ottoman and a chair and a half. The entire basement will be your space for the duration of your visit, and if for some reason we needed to access the basement, we would contact you first. The private entrance and patio area allows for guests to feel comfortable coming and going as they please, and the best part, no keys! As mentioned in the summary, kitchen amenities are limited but growing. We hope to add a kitchenette in late October. When we first started, we assumed most people would be coming to Lunenburg for the great views and the great restaurants, but as more guests ask for greater ability to make their own food, we have been slowly adding things to accomplish that.
Our bungalow sits on a quiet back street in Old Town Lunenburg overlooking the beautiful back harbour. The peaceful backyard backs onto green space and is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing morning or evening watching the sun rise and set on the water or observing the deer that frequent the yard. Although there isn't much traffic in this part of Old Town, it is a quick five to ten minute walk to downtown and the waterfront. The Bay to Bay trail is located 100 yards from the home and will take you on a longer (2.5km) and nature-filled route to downtown. We are also neighbours with the owner/operator of Lunenburg Paddling Adventours & Rentals. Their website can be found online including on FBook and IGram.
  • My husband and I were traveling from Bay of Fundy earlier in the day and making stops along the way before arriving. Melissa and Adam were flexible in our arrival time and recommended Peggy's Cove as a stop along the way which was one of the highlights of our vacation! They accommodated our late arrival and were receptive to any inquiries we had about our stay in Lunenburg. As the description implies, the accommodations are very private. My husband and I felt comfortable coming and going as we pleased through our private entrance situated around the side of the house. We took advantage of the washer and dryer that was made available to us as well as the refrigerator and coffee maker that were provided. We walked a couple of times into the beautiful and scenic town of Lunenburg that is just over the hill from their house. The location is also great for touring the coastal villages of the South Shore region. The bathroom was nicely renovated and accommodations were neat, simplistic and clean. Thank you, Adam and Melissa, for sharing your lovely home with us!

  • We had a great stay in Lunenburg! Melissa and Adam were great hosts and very accommodating! Within a 10 minute walk to anywhere we needed to be in Lunenburg. Thanks so much for making our stay a great one!

  • What a great place to stay to enjoy the sights of Halifax! The location is perfect for enjoying the waterfront. A very comfortable spot with all the amenities of home! Lane was most agreeable and accommodating as a host! We would heartily recommend this as a wonderful spot to stay! Thanks again, Lane!

    Cameron2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lane was an excellent host. Check-in was extremely easy (lock box). The bed was supremely comfortable and the apartment was clean and nicely decorated. Location was wonderful as we were right by the waterfront, and tons of restaurants/bars/sights were within walking distance. Lane suggested we walk to the nearby Seaport Farmers Market which was lovely. One thing to know is that the apartment's water heater tank is somewhat small, and we ran out of hot water while taking a shower and water in the sink for shaving. Also, the bathroom has a slanted ceiling which could be tough for taller travelers. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay at Lane's place as it was comfortable, quiet an convenient.

    Camille2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place couldn't be more adorable! Perfect location, near restaurants and bars, plus you can see the sea when you walk out the door. The house itself has everything you need. The check in and out was super simple. I really wish we had several more days here!

This 2 bedroom apartment is on the main level of Alvin's 5 unit building across the street from the Public Garden. Close to all that the city and downtown has to offer as well as Rockwood Park (beaches, walking trails, zoo, golf course). Catch a glimpse of the bay and walk the neighbourhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families. Welcome! I also have 4 other units on the same site.
In a historic building in old Saint John, relax in your own space inside and out. Bright and comfortable. And I am only a phone call away if you require assistance.
Enjoy a walk through the great green spaces (Public Gardens 1893 and Rockwood Park) so close by and the lovely old neighbourhood . Downtown and shopping amenities a quick drive away.

  • We stayed at Alvin's place in Saint John for two nights. Alvin was there to meet us on our arrival and the flat was clean and tidy. We had no problems at all during our stay and it would be a good place to stay a bit longer too. It'll be on our list for future visits to Saint John.

Alvin was a great host and shared some awesome recommendations. The place is a short walk from the public gardens and Rockwood Park, which has a cute small beach, lake, restaurant (Lily's) and trails. We would definitely recommend Alvin's place to family, friends and anyone planning a visit to Saint John

  • While we never actually met our hosts, we did have an opportunity to speak to Jodi during the booking process. She was very friendly & gave us a lot of information regarding location and her lovely home. The house was indeed very lovely, with every amenity you could hope for. The home was very spacious with lots of room to host a lobster dinner for a dozen or so guests. I would indeed recommend this terrific home for your next vacation. We do hope to return soon.

    Sandra2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We spent our family vacation in this wonderfully designed house with stunning views of the water. There are so many interesting details, from the gorgeous pottery to the blown glass lighting and the lay out of the space. Jodi and her husband were excellent communicators and made sure that we had what we needed to have a restful stay for the week. There are some interesting day trips to include the ferry out to La Have where you have to stop in the great bakery for lunch and Lunenberg offers some nice little shops and galleries as well as a fantastic farmer's market on Thursdays. There was something to do for everyone. For people who like to plan to take in whatever a place offers, historically or just the landscape, there was always a destination within at least a half hour or 45 minutes of the house.

    Carrie2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent house, fully equipped and in a lovely peaceful area, close to a great beach. Separate building is great for kids to have fun and for additional sleeping quarters. Easy drive to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester and to Peggy's Cove and other areas as well. Very communicative and responsive host, who acted quickly to have a small problem solved. Kitchen and laundry rooms fully equipped and games, beach accessories make it unnecessary for you to bring anything but your self and clothes. Remember to leave some space to bring home some of the beautiful beach rocks you will find. Great vacation with lots of ZEN moments and no travel hassles, risks or currency challenges.

    Don2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, unique home; gorgeous views; great location within walking distance to the beach and a short drive to Lunenberg. We had a wonderful time. The house is fully stocked with the very best of everything - bedding, towels, appliances, dishes, etc.... The original artwork, gorgeous pottery, and comfortable modern furniture gives the place an extra special touch. The bunky was a priceless bonus for our two teens. Host was responsive and easy to work with. The house was spotless. Just wish we had been able to stay longer.

    Tricia2014-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying in Jodi's beach home and it was just as amazing as the first time. The house is terrific and so is Hirtles Beach. We are hooked!

    kimberlae2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect location. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. I really liked being perched up on the hill with an incredible view, and a virtually private beach being a short 10 minute walk. The cottage is clean, modern and very well equipped, with incredibly comfortable beds. Lunenburg, and the other gems of the South Shore are a short drive away. Jodi was attentive and very quick to respond to inquiries. And the deer watching was a great way to spend evenings and early mornings! The ONLY downside for us was that there was another cottage that was very close, and they seemed to be a little paranoid and unfriendly. We felt a bit on edge that we would disturb them, even though we were a very quiet and respectful group with a 1 year old baby in tow! That being said, this was a small glitch in an otherwise perfect experience. A great place that I would recommend to anyone looking for a family getaway with a good mix of relaxing and exploring.

    Laura2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous space! Lots of room, high end, extras everywhere, beautiful accommodation - I recommend this place as a 5 star home away from home. ( but comfortable to bring children and relax)
