Places to stay in Baxters Harbour

Places to stay in Baxters Harbour
Our little house is located in the beautiful coastal forest of Baxter's Harbour, Nova Scotia. It is tucked in the woods, 1km away from the road and 1 km away from the majestic Bay of Fundy! The off the grid installation allows for lighting and laptop/cellphone usage.
The house is small and cozy, organized in one open space and a small loft. There is a porch on the back where we pile wood in the winter and use as a summer kitchen when the large cookstove gets to be too hot for the house! There is no running water, therefore no conventional bathroom in the house. We use water fetched from a spring to wash dishes and sponge bathe ourselves. The compost toilet is located outside, less than 15m from the house. It is nice to know that even though there is only one double-size bed, there is plenty of room to accomodate 4 more people if they are willing to bring their own camping bedding! We are absolutly confortable with that arrangment if it is what you wish, and there won't be extra charge. Obviously, by principle I need to mention that we expect from everyone to respect the land and the house just the same.
As in many small Nova Scotian communities, the people who live here give tremendous value to the bound between neighbors. You will feel the warmth and welcoming when meeting people on the road or at the beach. Expect many waves of the hand from drivers passing by, maybe stopping on the road for a short chat!
  • We had an incredible time at this little cabin in the woods! Andree-Ann and Shane are great hosts, and we'd certainly recommend this place to anyone that's looking to unplug for a bit in nature.

  • Amazing!!!!

  • My boyfriend and I decided to spend Valentine's Day weekend in the Little House. We loved having to learn how to operate and maintain the woodburning stove throughout our stay. Andrée-Anne is such a kindhearted host and was easy to contact if we had any questions or issues during our stay.

    Cori Alexis2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin in the woods, wood stove was very warm and cozy. Highly recommended! Just remember there’s no running water - the host was awesome as the cabin was well stocked with drinking water and washing water so we didn’t find this to be an issue at all.

  • Amazing little spot, a great place to come unplug and recharge! Andréa-Anne was a wonderful host, very responsive and accomodating!

  • This is a perfect cabin to escape the world in, it’s so cozy and quiet and surrounded by nature.

  • The Little Cabin in the Woods is the perfect place to get away and unplug. My partner and I stayed for four nights. I highly recommend this place for anyone!

Sit, relax and enjoy one of the highest tides in the world on a beautiful deck on the the Bay of fundy. Cottage has running water, full bathroom including shower.
Take your vacation to the edge in our unique Cliffhanger cottage. Beautiful views, take a 15 minute drive to the Halls harbour lobster pound or watch the fishing boats off the deck. Maybe take a walk to the breathtaking falls on Paddys Beach. Let's not forget the amazing view of Cape Split
Our cottage is mostly private. Usually a very quite setting.
  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Julie's cottage. It is a very peaceful location. Comfortable bed. Would stay again if we are back in the area.

    Tracy2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Julie’s place was magnificent the decor was beautiful and inviting. Being on the Bay of Fundy was a magical experience. Book this cottage you will not be disappointed!

    Kathy2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really great! An eco house in comfort! Very pretty: tastefully decorated! Very well equipped also for cooking: sharp knife, wine glasses :) Very clean! The bed is very comfortable. The view of Bay of Fundy and Cape Split is splendid! The tides are impressive. Well located; near Port Williams (vineyard, cheese factory, microbrewery) and Grand Pré (vineyards and park Canada). The butcher shop in Canning is also worth the detour!

    Vickie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This as a beautiful location, especially if you just want to relax and watch the tide go in and out! The bed is the most comfortable we had our whole trip -so comfortable. Very lovely, decorated beautifully. We would gladly stay there again.

The Harbour Home looks out onto the Bay of Fundy. The house sits beside a cascading waterfall which runs into Baxter's Harbour on the left of the house. There is a deck on the water side of the house and a smaller deck on the road side of the cottage.
  • Wendy is truly a super host! The cottage has a fabulous view, and was clean and spacious, as well as comfortable with loads of fresh blankets and bedding, pillows etc. Check-in was smooth, Wendy is friendly and punctual. The view from the living room was outstanding, and there is a beautiful waterfall and beach to explore. Would definitely recommend this spot -- you won't be disappointed.

    Sam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We spent three restful nights at Wendy's place overlooking the Bay of Fundy and its 30+ foot tide, and had a wonderful time enjoying nature from the waterfall next to the cottage, to a walk down the lawn to stairs to the rocky beach area, to the fascinating rock outcroppings and interesting stones on the beach. The cottage is rustic, but fits the area beautifully; we had everything we needed for a great getaway to all that we love about Nova Scotia!

    Steve2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to view Fundy tides, walk on the ocean floor and enjoy a waterfall. Oh - and the stars! Magnificent!

    Jocelyn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location has the best view & lots to exploring. Falling asleep to the sound of a waterfall was pretty awesome. Wish we could have spent more time there. We may just have to make a trip back ! We rented the house to attend a wedding close by and the house was perfect for our family & extended family to all stay together. Post hurricane we almost had no power going into the rental ( came on about half hour prior to our arrival ) but Wendy had flashlights and a generator ready to accommodate our stay. Overall it was an excellent stay & would definitely stay again.

  • Great Bay Front property. Remote and quiet away overlooking and with access to a rocky shore. Everything as advertised and would love to go back.

    Jim2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage that is nestled among some other cliff side cottages but private from neighbors. Excellent location, a little off the beaten path but easily accessible to nearby villages (Canning, Port William, Kentville) via short drive (15 mins). Beautiful sunset views over the Bay of Fundy, opportunity to walk down to a rocky beach and stick your toes in the water for the brave. There is a fire pit which we didn’t have the chance to use but looks fun.

    Charlie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • It is impossible to put into words the beauty and magic of the Harbour Home. With panoramic views overlooking the Bay of Fundy, including wonderful views of Cape Split, the Harbour Home was everything we were hoping for and more. Anyone who has been to the Bay of Fundy will appreciate the power and aura of Fundy, and the Harbour Home really allows you to soak in Fundy's beauty. Briefly, I will discuss a few key elements of the Harbour Home and why we enjoyed it so much. First, the views are incredible. From the living room or the deck, you can look out over the ocean and watch the movement of the tides. A short walk away is a beautiful waterfall, and further along the shore of the property there are flowerpot rocks and an underwater archway that is exposed at low tide. You are close to multiple beaches, and can easily venture from the property down to the ocean floor, where you can roam to your heart's content at low tide. The house itself is built on a bit of cliff overlooking the Bay. There is a large lawn and some gardens and it is very easy to walk from the house down to the ocean floor (although I should note there is a steep metal staircase you descend right before you reach the beach/ocean floor). The location and sight lines from the property allow you to really observe and appreciate the tides. There is fencing to protect and warn you away from the cliff edges. The house itself is very spacious. We had six people in our party and the space fit us very well. The kitchen is quite well stocked which made preparing food for a group much easier. The beds were comfy, everything was clean. Overall the Harbour Home really exceeded our expectations. The photos do not really do justice to the view and location, and it is incredibly difficult to put a phenomenon like Fundy into words.

    Sam2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view! Big house with lots of space and equipped with everything you need. Would definitely stay there again if traveling in the area.

  • Sheila, the property owner, was very friendly and gave great recommendations. We enjoyed walking down to the falls and exploring the beach! I enjoyed sitting on the deck and inside by the windows and read my book. The Cape Split trail is a nice hike with great views!

  • Great host!!

    Ryan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place near the sea. Very friendly hosts and great recommendations of things to do nearby. Slightly challenging to find because both the cabana and cottage next door were labelled with the same number. I liked having a small fridge and toaster oven for breakfast.

    Rui2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is HEAVEN, I had a personal request that required a bit of a set up of the place before we actually checked in. I could not believe how easy and cooperative the owners were and how fantastic Noelle was with the communication to make it happen. We were blessed with a fantastic weather an amazing view and the most friendly greeting ever. This place is HEAVEN...

    Orlando2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is located on a quiet lot and boasts a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Check in was easy and the folks next door were lovely to deal with. The space includes a bathroom and a bedroom, it worked well for 2 of us. A big deck is also present and I am sad I did not get to enjoy more time on it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The Stone Cottage is on a large private lot with a view of Baxter's Harbour, Cape Split, Ile Haute and Scott's Bay. It is a small cottage, ideal for one or two people but there is a double pullout couch in the living room, so could sleep 4 people. There is an outdoor fire pit in front of the cottage to enjoy after the spectacular sunsets. The stars will be your entertainment after the sunset. To the left for the fire pit is a path that leads to our steps to the beach. Dogs must be on leash.
There is a double bed in the small bedroom and a pullout double couch in the living room so the cottage could sleep 4 if needed. It is a small space.
Baxter's Harbour is a quiet neighbourhood. Sometimes there are community things going on at the community center. This summer they are having a Sunday morning sale with various boothsselling homemade food, old books, jewelery, crafts etc. Once in a while Musical guests play concerts in the church. You can walk to the public beach in about 5 minutes where you will get an even better view of the waterfall that is beside our property and there are more cottages.
  • Truly a wonderful place with an outstanding view of the Bay and Cape Split

    Philip2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Wendy’s cottage. A beautiful & quiet spot to relax, great sunsets & evening camp fires. We had a positive experience all around. We will be back to this beautiful part of NS.

    Suzanne2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice view and convenient for our travels!

    Susan2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to get away. We so enjoyed exploring the ocean floor and watching the tides. Magnificent sunset!

    Renee2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was very easy to communicate with and the cottage was even better then I expected. It isn’t a luxury place but it has everything you need and it was clean and prepared for us. The location was stunningly gorgeous and private. I would definitely stay here again!

    Aaron2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was most helpful: communication was great, she got us in early, she was friendly, and she took the time to give us an overview. The facility itself was fun and with a bit of a fairy tale look. You are right on the Bay of Fundy and the shoreline was almost otherworldly (and it was fascinating to see the famous tides rise and fall). You are about 15 minutes away from Hall's Harbour (wonderful lobster pound and restaurant) and about 15 away in the other direction from the Ross Creek Centre for the Performing Arts (we took in two shows at the Two Planks and a Passion Theatre).

    Stephen2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Truly one of those hidden gems -- the photos will never do justice to the beautiful surroundings, quiet & peaceful beach, and the comfortable cottage. Wendy was gracious and shared tips about the basics (and where to find fresh lobster) but also the best spot to watch the sunset and history of the house. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would come back for a longer stay next time.

    Sarah2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a great property! The Stone cottage is a perfect getaway with everything you will need. We loved walking down to the beach, where you could see Cape Split off in the distance. Wendy is a lovely host, very accommodating and is easy to communicate with. During the weekend trip we checked out the town of Wolfville, Blomidon Provincial Park and of course did the Cape Split hike, this cottage was within 30 minutes of all these places. Perfect weekend getaway, we hope to be back!

  • The loveliest spot. Even nicer than the photos suggest! So many thoughtful extras. So romantic and cozy in the most beautiful setting.

    Grace2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. You surely won't be disappointed staying here. This cozy cabin checks off all boxes. It was especially amazing in autumn when the air is crisp and the leaves are colourful. The hot tub was the perfect way to end your day, with your loved one, while listening to the crashing waves, sipping wine and watching the sunset. There's also something very special about being inside, all nice and cozy and falling asleep beside a crackling fire. If it wasn't for a little thing called a job (Oh.. and children) I could live here. Thank you Heather!

    Mark2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was beyond accommodating. The cottage itself is so charming with the wood stove and hot tub by the water. Though we didn't use all the amenities, there seemed to be everything available. We hope to come back in the future!

    Maria2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying here, first time I was solo on a motorcycle trip. I knew my wife would love it even more than I did so booked a fall weekend here.. the wood stove and hot tub were amazing. Wolfville in the fall is great, farmers market, craft beer wine and lots of great food! We will be back!

    Jonathan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Another exceptional stay in Halls Harbour! The hot tub and beautiful deck were a major plus and made our stay extra special. Heather's special attention to extra touches such as a artistic stylish authentic décor was amazing! Great travel resources! Super equipped modern kitchen, perfect for enjoying a couple home cooked meals with local ingredients. Outstanding location, so close to everything, yet so private. Thanks Heather, for making this visit so special. Halls Harbour remains one of our favorite spots in Nova Scotia. Absolutely stunning view and amazing cottage! Joan and Ed Oct. 2019

Enjoy the beautiful Bay of Fundy. This tiny home sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking the beautiful Bay of Fundy. It faces north and offers amazing views of Cape Split. In the evening enjoy breath taking sunsets while listening to the surf hitting the beach. Built with milled logs from the property, this cabin offers a BBQ and propane burner to cook with. All the pots, pans, and dishes needed for a rustic meal. The site offers a fire pit and access to the beach.
Split view cabin sits as close as you can get to the Bay of Fundy. With stunning views of Cape Split. Just a few minutes drive from The Look Off ,Cape Blomidin and Cape Split Provincial Park. This cabin offers rainwater for cleaning dishes and solar power lighting. It also offers a composting toilet. This is an ‘off grid’ cabin with no electricity.
  • Truly a magical spot and well worth the stop. It’s been a long time since I’ve slept in such a peaceful, quiet place. If you care more about extra special locations and value peace and quiet over glamour, don’t miss this place.

    Sara2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fell asleep to the sound of Bay of Fundy waves. Amazing little rustic gem.

    Steffen2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • So private! A perfect place to get off the grid and have a campfire, watch the bay of Fundy tides, and watch the stars. A really special and memorable experience.

    Hailey2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • You will be hard pressed to get any closer to the Bay of Fundy and find a more incredible place to watch the sunset. We very much enjoyed our stay at Split View Cabin and would recommend to any one looking for a peaceful getaway to recharge.

  • You are missing out on a slice of heaven if you don’t stay here! Absolutely beautiful rustic cabin with views for days and sunsets more beautiful than you could imagine. I woke up in the middle of the night to tell my boyfriend how comfy the bed was too. We had a beautiful fire over looking the ocean. An absolutely gem and highly recommend!!!!! Thanks Peter!

    Lauren2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The sound of crashing waves, a view of Cape Split and an eagle souring past while drinking our coffee on the deck. Amazing place to visit.

    Erin2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, romantic off-the-grid cabin, would highly recommend. The cabin smelt like fresh wood, and the indoor fireplace warmed the place up almost instantaneously. View from the porch is completely unobstructed and on high ground, excellent for watching the tides and sun. Cabin is spacious, well thought out, minimalistic living as you can have it while still feeling incredibly warm and welcoming. The quiet was perfect. We could see ourselves living in a little place like this if we had the chance (add a hot shower every now and then, haha). Endless thanks.

    Nicole2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • I won’t soon forget my time spent in this perfect little cottage. I was in awe of the beauty and tranquility of the space for the duration of my stay. The property is incredible - you truly feel off the grid with space to start a fire, watch the ocean and make yourself at home. While you’re very isolated, I never felt unsafe. There have been so many thoughtful touches incorporated into the cottage - motion sensor lights outside, parking space, ample firewood/kindling, binoculars, hiking guide, stove. I didn’t want for anything during my stay. This location is spectacular and my only wish is that I could have stayed longer, and that I’ll one day be fortunate enough to return.

  • The place exceeded my expectations (which were already high!). I was not entirely sure it was the right place to go with our 14 months old baby but he had a blast and so did we. Sean even brought more toys from his place which was very thoughtful of him. We are already planning a second trip for this summer. Highly recommended!

We are so excited to share our bright & cozy cottage-style home! The area has incredible views of both farmland & ocean, amazing outdoor adventures, as well as arts and culture to enjoy. Medford House is a one-story home with a full bath, kitchen, comfortable and bright living space, and 2 cozy bedrooms. Take advantage of our beautiful large private backyard. With a two-person hammock hung near the fire pit and outdoor lounge chairs, you can BBQ, watch the stars, roast marshmallows, and unwind.
Our home is just a short bike ride away from Kingsport Beach, Medford Beach, Blomidon Winery, and the Village of Canning, all in the heart of Nova Scotia’s agricultural centre. Canning has everything you need for a comfortable stay: groceries, a local butcher, liquor store, galleries, cafés, and a restaurant. Highlights include: wine and cidery tours, hiking Blomidon Provincial Park and Cape Split, snowshoeing, river tubing in Gaspereau, berry and apple picking, and so much more.
  • We loved staying in this cute, comfortable home. Just the right amount of space with all the conveniences plus trendy styling. The location is quiet and the home is nestled within the beautiful pastoral scenery. Katie and Alex provide a grill, fire pit, and a hammock should you have the time to just chill a bit and to soak in the Nova Scotia splendor. If I plan on returning to the area, I will definitely be seeking out this place. My highest recommendation!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay for a few days or an extended visit. It’s a spacious, clean, nicely furnished cottage that’s adjacent to farmlands with a peek of the bay. It’s in a very quiet area on a lightly travelled road. Convenient location only a short drive or bike ride to the beach and pier or into town. The host is available and responsive. It was nice to have air conditioning on the few warm days.

Quiet, private, and tranquil is this year-round cottage located on the Minas Basin in Kingsport. The cottage has a large verandah that fronts the ‘bluff’ and below is a lovely walkable beach exposed when the tide is out.
  • Second visit to Bonnie’s cottage and just as excellent as the first time. Perfect spot for a cozy weekend getaway.

    Isaac2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, peaceful time at Blomidon Rose cottage. The cottage is cozy and well-equipped. Bonnie was friendly and easily accessible by text. It all went very well.

    Dale2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely stay! Bonnie is so accommodating and easy to get along with. The cottage itself was so clean and so comfortable. Super warm flannel sheets on a very cozy bed. You can watch the sunrise from the loft window which is worth waking up early for. Huge tub that I will dream about!

  • Bonnies cozy cottage by the sea was the perfect little hideaway for our winter weekend! Highly recommend!

    Zoe2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Blomidon Rose. It is the perfect winter retreat if you are looking for a cozy place to read by a fire, or take in the beautiful views. Bonnie was a pleasure to communicate with, and was always quick to respond. There are lots of lovely touches in the home, including the 2 person tub! The kitchen was well equipped with all the pots/pans to cook meals. We had a great stay and would love to come back.

    Hannah2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here in the middle of winter as a quick post-Christmas getaway and it was absolutely perfect. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook all your meals, the view is spectacular, and the wood stove makes a cold winter’s night terribly comfortable. A lovely assortment of loose leaf teas and Amazon Prime were just icing on the cake!

  • The cottage has a cozy atmosphere in a quiet part of Kinsport. It's situated in a great place to enjoy the Bay of Fundy and the area around Wolfville. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

  • Best air b and b spot I have ever stayed in! Spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful hosts, tons of extra touches, and a quick drive to Wolfville along pretty rural roads. Very safe and comfortable for a single woman travelling on her own but also a sweet Zen spot for a couple looking for a quiet break. I will definitely be booking here again!

    Susan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn’s Place was so cute! Very clean and stylish. Has everything you need, there was shampoo in the shower, coffee in the cupboard, cooking utensils, cards and cribbage. The bed was very comfortable. Location was good, not too far from Wolfville or Port Williams. There’s a grocery store and liquor store nearby. We didn’t have many interactions but she seemed very and made herself available if we needed her. 10/10 would recommend and definitely would stay again.

  • This home has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The little touches that were thoughtfully added make the rental feel like a home away from home. The two smaller bedrooms are on one side of the home, and the larger bedroom is on the opposite side which was perfect for our family stay. We had our toddler with for a short stay. There were books, toys, and a high chair. Lots of stuff to keep him occupied. There were plenty of fresh towels and face cloths, also throw blankets available to curl up with to watch tv. We would stay here again when in the area next :)

  • We really enjoyed staying at Shannon’s mini home. It was very quiet and an easy trip in to Wolfville, New Minas. Kentville , Coldbrook and surrounding areas. Shannon’s home is very close to Blomidon Provincial Park, The Look Off and Cape Split. We enjoyed the food at The Port Pub in Port Williams and Paddy’s Pub in Wolfville. We did a short winter stay which was great but a summer visit would be even better.

The seaside house is able to sleep 6, yet has all the creature comforts any traveler could imagine. The Hideaway at Halls Harbour is the epitome of a seaside escape for families, wine tastings in the Annapolis Valley, seafood dinners, and ocean breeze living. Located on one of the few working lobster wharfs, guests can explore the harbour, dine at the Lobster Pound Restaurant on the wharf, enjoy fireside evenings on the beach, marvel at the highest tides in the world, and capture IG moments.
Our 3 bedroom home underwent full renovations in 2018, and brings modern conveniences in a traditional coastal setting. The house features updated decor with laundry, dishwasher, WiFi, Bluetooth speakers, and comfortable beds and bedding. This 3 bedroom home is situated on a waterfront road, on the inside of the road (“one-back”), giving exceptional sunsets out over the water visible from the house and from the beach out front. The small roadway houses cottages and year-round homes. This traditional house was fully renovated in 2018, enhancing the original features such as hand hewn ceiling beams, original wooden floor boards (complete with square nails), and decor selected to blend modern conveniences with that traditional Nova Scotia feel. The house experiences beautiful ocean breezes, which make for comfortable temperatures during summer heat, requiring no AC. Proximity to the Bay of Fundy brings with it cooler summer temperatures than inland, and extends the tourism season with longer, temperate autumns. Winters in Halls Harbour bring that secluded, oceanfront feel, with winter views and vistas across the Bay. Winter tourism provides a rugged beauty, with a maintained road allowing for access year round. This quiet dead-end street provides a tranquil setting, just steps from the activity at the wharf. On a typical day, the only noise you hear is the sounds of the ocean. Being completely renovated, the house has that new-home feel, but retains the old time charm. The Hideaway at Halls Harbour is ideally suited for up to 6 people, and was laid out with our family of 4 children in mind. It works well for large families, providing 4 single beds, as well as the queen bed in the master bedroom. While away from home, we wish to provide the luxuries we are all used to such as in-home laundry, unlimited internet (no TV), modern bathroom, dishwasher, and luxurious bedding. Note that cell reception is not consistent within the house, however we will indicate where to stand outside to locate 3 bars. This home is not baby-proofed and includes a steep flight of stairs. While we welcome guests travelling with infants, know that the house is not designed with babies in mind.
Walking out the door, you will be struck with the ocean vistas and ocean sounds, while the lobster boats often hover out front working their way into harbour, or waiting for the dramatic tides to change and permit re-entry. A short few steps to the harbour brings you to the Lobster Pound, where you buy your dinner to cook back home, or sit down in their licensed Restaurant and enjoy a wide range of seafood dishes prepared for you (and no dishes!). The harbour wharf also has an artisan co-op, selling local artworks. The harbour boasts a long tradition of artists. A short 4km drive or bike ride will bring you to Sea Cones Ice Cream Boat, a unique lobster boat ice cream shop. Not to be missed are their Lobster Rolls, at times selling out with their demand. Within a 15-20 minute drive, you will find yourself in the heart of the Annapolis Valley, full of orchards, vineyards, the trendy university town of Wolfville, and a wide range of deliciousness to satisfy your inner foodie. We will provide a list of our favourites. Shopping can be found for groceries, souvenirs, and big box shops all within close proximity. Consider tourist attractions such as the Magic Winery Bus, Grand Pré National Historic Site, Ross Creek Centre of the Arts (exceptional outdoor theatre), Ghost Walk Tours, nearby Shubenacadie Tidal Bore Rafting, and a 2.5hr drive to outstanding whale watching on Brier Island. The Bay of Fundy offers a lengthy list of nature discoveries, including the hike at Cape Split, Blomidon Provincial Park, and explorations along all the coves and beaches. Halifax airport is 1hr & 20min close, as is the city of Halifax. All destinations will be detailed to you in our annotated Google Map.
  • Super cute space that was very clean. Bed was extraordinarily comfortable. Check in was easy— just used the lockbox. Melissa was very communicative and responded quickly. She also was willing to negotiate on the price, as it is near the end of season, the reservation was last minute, and we are students. Overall wonderful experience. One thing to note, however, is that although the pictures make it look like this property has direct waterfront access, it does not. You have to walk a bit down the road.

    Olivia2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, clean house, with designer touches, and nice ocean view!

    Esther2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the pleasure of staying at the Hideaway in October 2019. It was an amazing visit and the accommodations were top notch - the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern day design. Melissa and Charles were available within minutes to a short hour anytime we reached out and they made sure to check in to see that everything was to our satisfaction. We will definitely stay at the Hideaway again when we visit the region and give it and our hosts the highest recommendation to anyone contemplating a visit to Hall’s Harbour, NS. Simply put, we received a true Maritime welcome (and I know, since I am a Maritimer myself ;) and Charles and Melissa represent the best that the Maritime spirit has to offer...

    Stefanie2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place is great! It has all you need to spend a relaxing week or week-end. It is clean, the bed are confortable, it is big enough to accommodate 6 adults. We had a great time at Melissa’s, and recommend the place to anyone wanting to relax.

    Helene2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's property was sparking clean, comfortable and well stocked. We loved the location with the fishermen's wharf just a stroll away and watching the tides was fascinating. The nearby restaurant was great as well. Halls Harbour is close to many attractions. We enjoyed the hike up Cape Split with the panoramic views and spent time at the wineries in Wolfville area. We all enjoyed the hot tub at night before bed. Communication with Melissa was easy and would highly recommend her property.

    Andrea2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely amazing, our host was great and was able to accommodate all of our needs. We arrived in the middle of a hurricane so power was out everywhere’s, the fireplace is a beautiful touch which we enjoyed while listening to the storm. Melissa was very fast to reply with any concerns we may have had (being in a hurricane and all hahah) which made our little honeymoon getaway very relaxing. The place was extremely clean, beds were super comfy, and you can’t beat the view/location. I am so happy that we chose to stay here for our little getaway, it was outstanding!

    Kelsey2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation was more than we hoped for! When hurricane Dorian cancelled our honeymoon camping trip, Melissa was accommodating to our last minute booking. The calm before the storm gave us beautiful sunsets and a calm sea. The modern decor was warm and inviting and that hot tub got so much use! The Annapolis Valley has so many quirky and cute spots to discover; we made our way to Church Brewing Company, the Noodle Guy, and Hennigars Farm Market. We can’t wait for our next visit to discover more.

    Danielle2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our family enjoyed our weekend at this spotless clean and cozy home. The weather was not the greatest but the hot tub sure felt good on the foggy damp nights. Our hostess Melissa was always very attentive and available if you should need anything.

With so many farmers markets, wineries, breweries and activities happening, there is much to see and do. Many guests who had booked for two nights, wished they had booked for the whole week or even longer when they realized how accessible everything is. PLACES TO GO/RECOMMENDATIONS Sheffield Mills/Canning has some beautiful sights to see and great places to visit. Here are some recommendations in and around the area. Canning: The Village Coffee House is a place to relax and recharge, and the chic, urban feel makes it feel like home to visitors and tourists alike. It is the latest addition to this artsy town and is nestled in among the seasonal ArtCan Gallery & Café, Crystany’s Brasserie, Aspinall Pottery, The Landing Spa & Studio, the seasonal iScream Ice Cream shop, and Esmé (fashion boutique), all backing on to the Habitant River, providing a scenic pastoral view. Here’s what else is said about Canning from there website: ‘Canning Village is a warm, welcoming place to live, work, shop, visit, and do business. We’re on your way to the breathtaking, unique destinations nearby, like The Bay of Fundy (one of North America’s Seven Wonders), majestic Blomidon Provincial Park, amazing Kingsport and Houston’s Beaches, The Look Off, Scots Bay, Cape Split, and more. Stop by Canning on your way to or from Blomidon Estate, our local winery, or the Lobster Pound at Hall’s Harbour, and eat, refresh yourself, shop, stock up on supplies, or just relax at our beautiful waterside Bruce Spicer Park. We’re proud of our history as one of Nova Scotia’s hubs of yesteryear and we’re up-to-date with fibre optic high-speed Internet and a state-of-the-art water system delivering clean, great-tasting water to the Village and area.” Halls Harbour: Hall's Harbour is a picturesque fishing community located along the shore of the Bay of Fundy, in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It lends its name both to the small fishing hamlet and to the wider community which takes up an area roughly 5 kilometers square. On the south, the area overlooks the Annapolis Valley, on the north overlooks the Bay of Fundy, on the east Sheffield Vault and on the west Chipman Brook. The area is very scenic and the hamlet itself has been declared a Nova Scotia Tourism Destination Area. The Harbour boasts a fine restaurant and lobster pound, artists studios, antiques and artisans galleries https://www.hallsharbourlobster.com/Restaurant.html The Look Off Blomidon Look-Off is on top of the North Mountain in the Fundy Shore and Annapolis Valley region.  It is a small roadside stop on the way to Scots Bay, with a beautiful panoramic view of the Annapolis Valley.  On a clear day, you can see five counties from the look-off. Scots Bay Scots Bay Provincial Park, situated in the Bay of Fundy and Annapolis Valley region, is a small picnic area with beach access on Wharf Road.  Watch as the world's highest tides rise and fall before your very eyes! Eagle Watch From December to February Sheffield Mills, outside of Canning, becomes a great sightseeing destination for those who enjoy eagles. Residents of the Community have turned the last two weekends in January into an ever growing event. Along with the population of eagles, the watch now features other events such as pancake breakfasts, and musical entertainment. The event has grown in popularity over the years, and now reportedly brings in over 1000 visitors to watch the soaring eagles. There are even tours from Halifax which bring bus loads of people from the city to see this and other Annapolis Valley attractions. http://www.sheffieldmills.org/eagle-watch-2018.html Every October, Wolfville is the home for Devour Film Fest - an amazing culinary experience mixed with amazing films and is a mecca for all foodies and film buffs alike. Take a look here... https://devourfest.com
  • Ranmoor Lodge was a warm, cozy place to enjoy a few days away. I was welcomed by Bridget as soon as I drove up to the house. She was extremely nice and showed me through the place, gave me lots of tips and left a binder of things to do and places to see. It felt like I had found the perfect "home away from home". If I needed anything, Bridget was there in a minute! The property was beautiful. I highly recommend Ranmoor Lodge to anyone looking for a sparkling clean, cozy place to stay. Ii is nestled on a mountain in the stunning beautiful Annapolis Valley and you will be well taken care of! I highly suggest that if you are looking for an Airbnb in the beautiful valley of Nova Scotia you book at Ranmoor Lodge!! Susan Whittaker

  • Beautiful accommodations on a fantastic property. Host was very kind and lots of extras we did not expect....cooking oils, spices, milk, eggs, bread, juice etc. Home is spotless. Close to Kentville, Halls Harbour, the Lookoff etc Will definitely stay here again for all visits to the Annapolis Valley. Highly recommend this property.

  • A pleasant escape in a beautiful part of Nova Scotia. We were pleasantly surprised to find the fridge stocked with essentials, which made our morning easier with our family. We were happy with the ample size of the kitchen, dining area and living room for our family. Perhaps our favourite part were the outdoor spaces to enjoy, including a barbecue area and patio overlooking a small pond with lily pads. Definitely a gem!

    April2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice, clean and well maintained home. The host is warm and welcoming. She stocked the fridge with some supplies to get us started, which was a nice touch. I will be back!

    Janet2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Bridget is a great hostess. Expect a high end experience in a pastoral settin. Lots of room to spread out. And a breakfast stash to boot.

    Terry2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed three nights at the Ranmoor Lodge. It's a very nice property with a beautiful view of the sunset! The property is conveniently located a short drive from Wolfville and from the popular Hall's Harbour which tourists visit for its low/high tides. Bridget was lovely and provided us with some basic groceries. She was very speedy with responding to messages and we would love to stay at the lodge again!

    Amanda2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Bridget's place was absolutely lovely. The lodge is very spacious and everything is sparkling clean. The bedroom looks out at a small terrace where you can watch the sunset. It has all the amenities you might need and Bridget was so nice as to even provide some breakfast items since we were arriving in the late afternoon and didn't have time to do shopping. The location is great if you're looking for some peace and quiet away from the city bustle. Still, it's only 15 minutes drive to Wolfville where you can find nice cafes and restaurants. I'd recommend Bridget's place to anyone who wants to explore the Annapolis Valley and wants to stay at a cozy, quiet place with a great host.

    Vihra2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best hosts I’ve ever had through Airbnb! Bridget’s space is very clean, stylish and has everything you need. Close to a ton of wineries and not far from town. Beds are comfy and the floors are heated! Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone in the Wolfville area.

We like to say our cottage is “…just a comfortable place to stay.” Reserved parking then up a ramp to one of our two decks. In side you will find a spacious welcoming family room (with sofa bed), 7 windows to watch the birds (or what ever else may be passing by ie: bicycle tours, tractors, the odd boat…on a trailer.) This open concept space (with kitchen) is air conditioned and equipped as a housekeeping unit. One bedroom (queen size bed) with a separate exit to the rear deck. Welcomhome!
You have exclusive use of the main floor. (Basement is not finished yet and is unavailable.)
We are at the edge of Canning which you can walk to if you are accustom to short hikes. Ground transportation is suggested for trips outside of the Village.
  • Great spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Very close to everything you need and just far enough out of the way for peace and quiet. Expectations were surpassed ten fold and there are too many extras included to list. Wonderful hosts and definitely go above beyond! 11/10

  • So welcoming- a very nice place to stay. Canning is such a charming town and this cottage is just as lovely. Not one negative thing to say about our stay here. The oatcakes left by our host were the BEST.

  • Every time we've stayed at Ray and Laurie's cottage, we've enjoyed every part of our experience! Ray and Laurie are thoughtful hosts, the space is clean and welcoming, and the area has plenty to see and do. The cottage itself is in a beautiful and quiet spot, perfect for unwinding and bird watching, but also close to several towns in the Annapolis Valley with all of the amenities you may need!

  • Laurie and Ray are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make the stay amazing and made accommodations for us to ensure we got home safely through a snowstorm. Very caring hosts, and a lovely space. Thanks for the lovely trip!

Welcome to a semi-private suite on lower level of our split-level home. Bright, clean and newly renovated with a wood stove and soaker tub. Perfectly located 15 minutes from Wolfville and just minutes from stunning Blomidon and Cape Split in the Annapolis Valley. There is a private entrance with access to a large back yard, fire pit and parking. Guests enjoy a bedroom (with a super comfy double bed), their own bathroom and living room with a kitchenette and access to laundry. We hope you enjoy!
We live on the edge of the quaint little village of Canning with close proximity to Kingsport beach, Blomidon and Cape Split. Two cute little coffee shops (one is an art gallery) in town and weekly Canning Kitchen Parties at a variety of venues in the summer. There's an excellent butcher and a good little grocery store often featuring organic specials.
  • My brother and I had a wonderful one night stay at James’s Place. You can expect a very quaint and cozy experience here in a location that is central to all of the best in the area. It was also sparkling clean. I highly recommend!

    Noctem2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed briefly for a night but the place was excellent, clean and close to both Wolfville and Kentville. James was very hospitable and easy to communicate with. We would stay again in the future!

    Michael2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • James and Bo,s apartment is just as the pictures show, It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The living area is quite large and access to the wood heater is a bonus. James and Bo were very welcoming and we would gladly use the apartment if we return to the area

  • I have never seen a place so clean before with so many little thoughtfull things. Really cozy.

    Ian2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space, very clean and amazing value for money. Perfect place to explore the area.

    Brian2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The space was great and James is lovely. There wasn't as much separation or soundproofing between the upstairs and downstairs as we were expecting. The kitchenette included a hot plate (we couldn't find any pots or pans though), toaster oven, mini fridge, kettle (we couldn't find a coffee maker), a couple bowls and spoons/forks. All of which were wonderful.

    Kira2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Clean space and lovely hosts.

Come enjoy your vacation while disconnecting from the world! Our cozy cabin is an off-the-grid hidden gem tucked away above the bluff in Halls Harbour on the Bay of Fundy. Experience a rejuvenating stay while taking in all the thrills of nature!
A visit to our cottage is a great way for you to disconnect from the hubbub of your daily lives and take in all the beauty nature has to offer on the Bay of Fundy. The cottage itself is completely off-the-grid without power and running water so you will get to enjoy your stay in an "upscale rustic" style. We will provide ample potable water for drinking and for use in the kitchen. We have a compostable toilet in the bathroom just off the bedroom on the main floor and we have an outdoor shower hut for you to use (when the weather is warm enough, of course!) We truly hope the cottage will provide our guests with an exhilarating getaway from daily routines. There's nothing like fresh ocean air and breezes to help recharge your battery!
The cottage is tucked away above the bluff, just a 30 second drive away from Halls Harbour (or a 10 minute walk if you're up for it!). Halls Harbour has a world class lobster restaurant, great crafts & gift shops and several art galleries and there's literally no better place to view the world's highest tides! Halls Harbour is just a 20 minute drive to both Kentville and Wolfville which boast many of the Annapolis Valley's finest attractions. The cottage feels like you're a world away but the location can also serve as a great home base if you want to take in many of the wonderful tourist destinations the valley has to offer.
  • This was our second time back to this beautiful spot, and we are already planning our next trip. You cannot place value on such a beautiful place- from the sounds of the wood crackling in fire to the waves crashing into the shore this cottage has it all. Whether you’re looking for a romantic get away, or a weekend with friends Birchcliff is the perfect place to unwind, off the grid. Steve goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best time, from his quick responses, a pre stocked wood stove upon your arrival, as well as his little details that just add to the most beautiful place.

    Alyssa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very nice and a pleasant place to stay. I very much enjoyed my time there. Thank you guys for taking good care of me in charging batteries and giving local advice. You did a great job. Plan to stay here again in summer months!

    Robert2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time here. It was so beautiful, peaceful. This was our first stay in an air b'n b so we did not know what to expect. There is no running water but they had ample supply of both drinking and potable water, however it was a little cold to try out the outside shower (snow on the ground). The wood stove pacs out a lot of heat so we were nice and cozy. They had battery packs on hand to charge our phones or plug in an extra lamp. They did have solar powered lights, they aren't bright but give enough so that you aren't tripping on things when you go to stoke the stove up at night. The composting toilet in the washroom had no odour since we followed his instructions. They have bedding, towels etc., and even cozy slippers by the door if you forget your own. There are loads of great books and games as well. I think my favorite was sitting by the cozy stove, with my coffee in hand, watching the osprey and eagles fly about. It was a beautiful experience. Stephen was a wonderful host. If we were running low on anything we'd just send him a message and he'd drop in later that day with it. We had a great time. Thank you Stephen!!

    Ba2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is such a nice place to stay, great place to go to get away from it all. Got great tips on nice places to go close by for food and nice hikes in the area as well. So peaceful sitting on the lower deck listening to the waves.

    Joe2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • As described, very clean and comfy. If you are looking for a quiet getaway on the ocean this should be on your list.

    Bruce2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot overlooking Bay of Fundy. What a beautiful quaint cabin.

    Andrew2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin tucked away right on the water. The place is cozy and warm and Stephen was helpful and gave us some great tips about the area.

    Elizabeth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect location right on the cliffs overlooking Bay of Fundy. The outdoor shower and compost toilet were not at all a problem—I was a little nervous about them at first, but not at all a big deal. Steven has the wood burning stove going when we arrived and spent a good amount of time going over how to use things in the house. He also gave us great suggestions of where to go/things to do. Overall, it far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!

Baxter's Harbour , Bay of Fundy, Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia Modern 2 bedroom Villa sleeps 4 adults and one child. Fully functional kitchen and BBQ. 2 levels of decks with Bay sights and sounds. Washer/dryer,Propane fireplace, and Aveda Amenities.Steps from the beach.
When we travel, we love unique properties that we can make our own whether we are there for a weekend or a month. Our favourite places speak to our desire to reflect, rebalance and reconnect to what we value during our time away. The essential ingredients for us have always featured private accommodations connected to interesting areas to eat, drink and play. We hope that Long Beach Villa in Baxter's Harbour, Nova Scotia becomes one of your favourite places, too.
One of our favourite things to do whether at home or travelling is to take “The Every Road Challenge”…the goal is very simply to venture down roads we have not been on and see what we have not yet seen. In Nova Scotia, this is a challenge that seemingly never ends and led us to discover Baxter’s Harbour for the first time. Only 15 minutes from our Annapolis Valley home, we had literally never been here until last year. We knew we loved the fresh Bay of Fundy breezes that can cool off a summer day, we knew we loved walking the quiet rocky beaches and we knew we loved how the world’s highest tides made the low and high tide shorelines seem like two worlds in one day. And then, we drove into Baxter’s Harbour and fell in love with how this series of coves, beaches and water falls had our favourite natural "amenities".
  • Stunning views, luxurious amenities, and amazing comforts were just the tip of the iceberg at long beach villa. We had a spectacular weekend getaway at this spa like cottage. From the white robes to the gorgeous fireplace, this spot is as romantic as it gets. Will definitely be back.

    Jessica2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and cozy house in a great location. Kitchen well equipped, bed super comfortable. Perfect base from which to explore the area. Simple and uncomplicated communication with June. Lovely again.

  • My girlfriend and I loved this place. So relaxing and quiet. The view and the coziness made it one of our best bnb experiences. Location was close and easy to fun things in the valley. I can’t think of anything that would have made it better. Will go again forsure. LH

    Lorne2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Villa is as described. Seamless rental and very enjoyable trip. June is quick to respond to any communication. Extremely peaceful setting and perfect for nature lovers. The internet is satellite, but we had no problem with it working despite it being cloudy and raining at times. We stayed connected for the four days we were there. The only thing that we missed was having a microwave, but that is a minor inconvenience. The villa is otherwise very well appointed with comfortable beds and furniture.

    Lorien2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great 3 night stay . Bright and beautifully decorated made for a comfortable stay .

  • Long beach villa is a little oasis in the somewhat remote Halls Harbour area. We booked a few nights as a little honeymoon of R&R after our wedding in the valley and it was absolutely perfect. Cozy spot, beautiful views, house is equipped with everything you need, has a gorgeous little fireplace, clawfoot tub, and cozy hotel-like bathrobes! We loved every minute of it! Thanks June!!

Very clean and spacious camper on our Beautiful lot over looking the Minas basin and Annapolis valley at The Look Off. Watch the changing of the highest tides in the world while setting on the deck.
We are only a few hundred feet past Look off campground. Which has a small restraunt take out and ice cream. Take a walk to Look Off park for breath taking views.
  • This place was perfect to stay for the night great view, cozy and comfy. Great host and a lovely spot in the valley to spend the day

  • This is a great spot!! The rental was clean and had everything you need to be comfortable and cook delicious meals. Unfortunately we were in and out really quickly with a wedding to attend, so we didn't get a chance to really soak up and enjoy the stunning views from the deck. The location is perfect for exploring Wolfville and the rest of the Valley

  • Lenny's place is way better than you might think at first. In the camper, you have everything you need in a small but cozy space. Lenny is also very nice to chat to. And the best is for sure the amazing view over the valley and the mines bassin. I would highly recommend to stay at Lenny's camper.

    Jean-David2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Great people and an amazing View. Watching the stars while overlooking the city, sitting by a fire. This place will not dissipoint.

  • Everything was excellent and I'd love to go back and stay again!! The only feedback I have is that the laundry detergent is strong and I would recommend getting a scent free laundry detergent. Artificial scents irritate my airways and I find that more and more guests also have sensitivities to artificial scents. Everything else was PERFECT! Thanks so much!

    Beth2019-08-12T00:00:00Z

  • So much space! We stayed in greg's apartment only for one night, but had a good stay. Especially the bedroom is cozy. The kitchen is equipped just fine, so we could cook a little supper and prepare our breakfast. Note that you stay underneath the family's home, so you might hear some noises. That didn't bother us at all though!

  • What a lovely cottage right on the water! The pictures do not do this place justice. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings, the views of the water and the the super cozy bed. I think this cottage would be even nicer in the summer and we are already thinking about coming back with our 7 year old. Sue and John were wonderful to deal with. There was a slight issue with the water on our second day and they came over right away to fix it and even treated us to breakfast at a lovely local coffeehouse. Do not hesitate to book this cottage!

    Alicia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolute must for a cozy getaway. Breathtaking views of the water, incredible space with thoughtful touches. We were especially fond of the tub overlooking the water, and sitting next to a crackling wood stove with a glass of wine. Thank you Sue for sharing your slice of paradise with us. We can’t wait to come back!

  • Beautiful cottage and location. The pictures do not do this place justice, we were so happy. Everything was newly renovated and decorated like a page from Pinterest. It was so much nicer than we were expecting. The wood stove was so comforting and the soaker tub in the bedroom was the icing on the cake. We would come back for sure.

  • If you want a true Nova Scotian experience, a host that has really embraced the idea of AirBnB, and simply a wonderful time, you should stay at the Sunshine House! This was the first place we stayed after having moved to NS from the west coast and our welcome could not have been any better! Johanne genuinely connects with people and is very welcoming. She is a person of many interests, and if you’re lucky enough to come during the monthly potlucks she hosts-you’re in for a wonderful company and a real treat! Her house is filled with beautiful music, and if you get a chance to listen to her harp playing - you will never want to leave. This Air BnB experience is much more than we expected and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great time!

Just 5 minutes to the Look Off, 10 minutes to the cute village of Canning, 15 minutes to Cape Split, 25 minutes to Wolfville, and surrounded by popular wineries- not to mention only minutes away from the ever popular Halls Harbour, NS where you can witness first hand the highest tides in the world, eat at The Lobster Pound, go on long beach walks and dip your toes in the Bay of Fundy!
  • This is such a beautiful spot -- the only way we could have enjoyed it more was being there during a slightly warmer time of the year so we could take full advantage of the deck (with the same panoramic views as the inside of the cabin offers). The location is great for exploring the natural surroundings, and a quick trip to Wolfville and Kentville for excellent meals and cider. Highly recommend the cabin for a total getaway.

  • My partner and I had a lovely stay at this cottage! The cottage is really sweet and clean with lots of thoughtful touches, and the view from the balcony is stunning, especially at sunset! The location is great - a short drive to Wolfville, the Lookoff, or Cape Split. I had great communication with Noelle before our stay and we were greeted by Sheila when we arrived, who was warm and helpful. Overall, would highly recommend this cottage if you're in the area and looking for a relaxing place to decompress :)

  • Great place to stay, awesome view.

  • What a piece of heaven. Great location on the ocean and a short drive to anywhere you want

    Susan2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was a great stay. The place was spotless and had everything you need and more. The personal touches were amazing and check in was a breeze with the owners of the cottage who just live next door if you need anything. The waterfall is a must and the view of the the sunrise in the morning is amazing. I would definitely recommend this cottage and I would definitely stay again.

  • Beautiful spot and hosts were lovely people . We will be back for sure

    Amanda2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The photos for this spot are great, but still don’t do it justice. The property is gorgeous overlooking the sea with a view of Cape Spilt. The hosts are amazing and helpful and just next door if you needed anything extra. The location is great and close enough to enjoy all the valley excursions. The cottage itself was comfortable and located just seconds from the beautiful Baxter’s Harbour waterfall. Plus, it was stocked with every little amenity you could want. We will definitely be back!

  • I enjoyed my short layover at Laura's place in Kentville! She was very accommodating of my last minute reservation and the place was fantastic. She also left some thoughtful touches that really brightened my stay! I would recommend Laura's place to anyone staying in Kentville or surrounding areas like Wolfville and New Minas.

  • An incredible stay in a beautifully appointed, self contained, clean, comfortable, modern, property. I'm unable to express how much appreciation I have for this location having been available. I will certainly stay at this AirBnB offering every single time I'm through the area. The hospitality alone was well worth the stay. Laura & Tony are 2nd to none in every aspect when compared to the numerous AirBnB locations I frequent. Thank you both so very much.

    Todd2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Tony were amazing! Very welcoming and helpful.

    Allison2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Laura welcomes us into her lovely Home in Kentville. She responded quickly to my request and messages. The set up of the house is very nice. Although small, it had everything needed with small kitchen and connected bathroom. The only caution is that stairs up to the house/loft are fairly steep and narrow. There are railing on both sides but are placed low when walking up and down the stairs. I would visit again if I needed a place to stay in Kentville.

    Mohammad2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Very clean and amazing hosts. No concerns.

    Sara2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location. Very clean and great coffee. The stairs were very steep and maybe difficult for older people or someone like me that has cod.

    Margaret2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place

    Cydney2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with generous hosts. I would only caution people who have trouble with stairs (not us!) as the entrance steps are quite steep. They were no problem for us and we loved our little nest with kitchenette. Just what we needed, and more than we expected.

A quiet and secluded home on the Bay of Fundy minutes from Cape Split, featuring incredible sunsets, a wood stove, and direct access via stairs to a unique beach with the world's highest tides. Perfect for families and nature lovers seeking an escape and rest.
  • At the last minute we had to cancel our third trip to Tim's place due to a bad storm at home. Tim was easy to deal with and super about our refund.

    Dan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This location was exactly as pictured! The view of the Bay was amazing and we loved being able to walk down to the water! The house was clean and had a big kitchen for cooking, which was really nice for our group of six people. Tim was also very quick with responses or letting us know anything necessary.

    Courtney2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned home after a two night stay at this lovely spot. It is a private wonderful space with a fully equipped kitchen, two full baths, and easily will sleep 6. It looks out over the Minas Basin and we spent hours watching the tide going in and out. There is no wifi and very limited cell service. One of us enjoyed that more than the other. I highly recommend this spot.

    Joan2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tims place was exactly how he advertized it. Cape Split is minutes away, as well as Blomidon. Great hiking trails. We called the main level bed and bathroom the west wing. Great for another couple or tennager to have their own space!

    Jim2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice space and clean. Quiet getaway location!

    Tammy2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a great host! He always replied quickly to my messages and questions leading up to our stay. The sunsets both nights we were there were AMAZING. It was such a perfect girls weekend getaway location!

    Bethany2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. When the tide goes out you can walk the fundy floor for hours. The sunsets are beautiful. If you would like to go ‘unplugged’ from your devices for the week we highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much for sharing your hidden getaway with us!

  • A comfortable and welcoming space and a wonderful host. Really enjoyed discovering the area, walking along the beach at low tide. Brenda is a lovely friendly host whom we really enjoyed getting to know.

    Agnes2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very charming home on a property perched on a bluff overlooking an extensive beach and secluded bay. Bring your kayak if you have one. An easy drive to two provincial parks, a UNESCO site that has excellent birding, and vineyards of the Gaspereau Valley. Brenda is a very gracious and interesting hostess. All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

    Barb2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda's place was so cozy and warm to stay at we felt we were back at our own home. She made us completely comfortable and her beach was a plus to walk along and yes we even went swimming briefly as it was about 65 degrees. The restaurants Brenda recommended were also great. Noodle Guy & Troy. Look forward to staying there next time when visiting Wolfville.

  • It was a wonderful place to stay as a family, it had everything we needed ❤️

    Velicity2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ray & Laurie were fantastic hosts and the house is huge and spotless! I loved the wrap around veranda with 3 large swinging chairs! There is everything you need to cook your own meals and a large kitchen table. Loved seeing all of the old organs in several rooms and the deconstructed piano/art piece with the strings and soundboard hanging in the living room. I'd like to go back in the summer with the whole family!

    Beth2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I doubt there is a better value on all of Airbnb! This place is huge and so inexpensive. There is everything you need to cook your own meals and a huge wrap-around porch for enjoying your food outside (or at the large dining room table). Lots of sleeping space and plenty of sitting areas too. I can't wait to come back with the entire family. Excellent tide viewing just minutes away. Ray and Laurie even provided local bacon and eggs for breakfast and some delicious oatmeal cakes for snacking. The decorations are amazing, I have never seen a piano sound board used as a decoration but they did and it looks amazing. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.

    Scott2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We have been staying with Laurie and Ray on an ongoing basis for the past few months now. They certainly do go above and beyond for their guests. I especially love how they have seamlessly managed to pull off being both extremely friendly and welcoming as well as organized and professional with this business which makes for a wonderful stay. They truly are super hosts and have been an absolute pleasure to deal with.

    Jennie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Charming home, great location, wonderful hospitality.

    Lisa2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ray and Laurie were excellent hosts and had an amazing place to stay. They even reached out to me after we checked out about a forgotten grocery store receipt. Would defiantly stay again.

    Scott2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and rustic with great hospitality

    Robyn2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie & Ray were spectacular hosts - the accommodations were outstanding - a beautiful old farmhouse with all the trimmings - their attention to detail is out of this world - definitely our type of place - especially having the rooster and hens to keep us entertained - will be returning for sure and will bring more friends next time.
