Barrengarry Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Barrengarry

This is a converted farm shed, which has been lovingly and creatively transformed using recycled and reclaimed materials, including beautiful old windows and doors. There are three bedrooms - two which have a king bed in each, and the third room has a queen bed with single bunk on top. A very large living area has a wood fire, dining space, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor entertaining/dining space, pizza oven and BBQ. It is set amongst permaculture gardens, on a 160 acre working farm with walking tracks to explore and admire breathtaking views of the Kangaroo Valley. Broger's End is set on the Kangaroo River - perfect for swimming or relaxing by. An absolute haven for friends, families and the beloved pooch if you like. The Shed at Broger's End is accessible by a country road (unsealed but perfectly suitable for all cards) just a short 5-10 min drive from Kangaroo Valley town (6 km). Broger's End is located in the beautiful Upper Kangaroo Valley, which is far enough from the village to be very quiet and peaceful, but close enough to pop in for dinner at a nice restaurant, to visit shops, museum etc. The farm is along the river, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
  • What an excellent place for a weekend of catching up with friends, after extending out stay for one day it took all of our will not to extend for another! The chickens & cows provided loads of entertainment for the kids and the fire pit and wood fire oven was exactly what we needed to help us with our birthday celebrations. We think that we'll have to time out next visit with summer so we can open up all the doors and enjoy the views right into the evening.

  • We had a lovely stay at Broger's End and enjoyed the cosy accommodation. The shed is extremely well appointed and the kids loved the animals, collecting eggs and exploring the property. I'd definitely recommend this accommodation to other families.

  • Magical house and garden . We all had a fantastic time . It's big but cosy . The children had a great time running around . Couldn't have asked for a more magical house .

  • Mel was very helpful and accommodating and our stay there was perfect. I could not have asked for a more perfect place for our little gathering.

  • The Shed experience couldn't have been much more perfect. The facilities were brilliant - everything from the kitchen to the linen. The pool table got a good work out. Great privacy and isolation but only a short drive into KV town. Guarantee you'll leave here relaxed. Don't forget to feed the chooks!

  • I'm not even sure where to start! From booking until leaving this place was an absolute dream. I've travelled a lot and this is by far my favourite air BnB experience. Make sure you swim in the river, use the pizza oven.. I can almost guarantee you won't want to explore much when you get there. The space in itself is something so magic!! I can't wait to go back!

  • My family (husband and 3 young kids) had a fabulous time at Brogers End. The house is quite an amazing place and full of personality - we all loved it. The veggie patch is enormous and the creek, which is a short walk from the house was a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. We will definitely come back.

    Vanessa2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! We had a mini family reunion to visit our grandmother in a nearby hospital and ‘The Shed’ was the perfect place for us to catch up (we all live in different states) and spend some quality family time. I have never stayed in a more interesting place, with surprises around every corner including a working bathtub in the middle of the veggie garden, a ‘hidden’ bathroom in the adjoining shed and fascinating light fixtures and door handles. While we didn’t have any luck with the chickens laying eggs, the cherry tomatoes from the garden tasted amazing and we made good use of the BBQ facilities and fire pit. The beds were super comfortable and we made good use of the pool table. Shame we couldn’t stay longer as we were still discovering new things at the end of our weekend, and I think it would take a long time to get bored with the place.

Scribbly Gum Cottage is a short walk to restaurants and dining in Kangaroo Valley, and has a 300m walking track to the Kangaroo Valley River. It has Rural views from every cottage window. Our place is great for couples who love a rustic country feel. We have a free range pastured egg farm and are passionate about sustainability. Ask about local breakfast hampers available on request.
The property is surrounded by amazing views of the Kangaroo Valley escarpment, this is particularly picturesque in the evenings. There is a rural view from each cottage window over our farm and the neighboring property. You have your own space around the cottage and a paved area outside with a fire pit. There is off street parking right next to the cottage. Inside the cottage there are basic ammenities including a bathroom and kitchenette as well as bedroom and lounge/ dining and kitchen area. The kitchen includes basic cooking facilities, there is a single hot plate, microwave, fridge and sink. There is also a bbq outside and a small portable oven is available on request. There is no air conditioning, however the cottage is fully insulated and there is a large pedestal fan for summer, an oil heater and electric blanket for winter.
We are close to Kangaroo Valley, about 1.5km into the centre of town, with restaurants and the local pub. There are many activities available in our area horse riding, canoeing, bike riding and even a local vineyard.
  • If you're looking for a quiet retreat this is a lovely option. A delightful rustic cottage on the outside (super cute), and a comfy, well-thought out space inside, with everything you'll need for a hassle-free break away. Sitting on the porch in the afternoon was fabulous, and the quick bbq diners and a bit of start gazing really did it for us. Kristen was a terrific host, making sure we had everything we needed, and kept an eye on us to make sure we didn't wander off up the wrong road never to be seen again. The location is terrific - close enough to walk into town but far enough away that kangaroos and kookaburras are the dominant noise sources (plus a few free range chooks, who doesn't love that). We had a relaxing four day stay, and will certainly be recommending the cottage to anyone who wants a break away to catch up with themselves.

    Lesley2017-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. The value is second to none, and the cottage is very smartly equiped: great bathroom, comfortable bed, nice kitchen and charming places to sit and read or nurse a drink. It's situated in the paddock behind the hosts' house, however the privacy is still very good and it doesn't at all detract from the enjoyment. Kristen is very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. I certainly intend on returning, and recommending the property to friends and family.

    Sebastian2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was simply divine. My partner and I decided to have a 2 night getaway to get some writing done, and we couldn't be happier with our accomodation. It is quiet and secluded, you have a lot of privacy, which was great for what we were looking for. Our hosts were lovely and attentive. I would highly recommend for any nature-loving couples looking for a short but sweet little trip.

  • Gorgeous little cabin in a very pretty area. Enjoying morning coffee with the pet pony was the highlight. Comfy bed, great shower and a Nespresso!

  • Fantastic location for a babymoon! If you need to get away from it all I highly recommend Scribbly Gum Cottage. Kristen was very helpful and has the freshest eggs you'll ever taste!

    Tim2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A charming old cottage and Kristen is a welcoming host. Great place for a relaxing break away from suburbia with close access to local restaurants and wineries. Highly recommended.

  • This cottage is like stepping back in time but with all the beautiful new touches. Kristen and her family have done a superb job on this gorgeous place and we loved every moment. Very close to town, quiet, private and Kristen couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The linen and towels were gorgeous and the bed sooooo comfy.

  • We absolutely loved our time at Patty's place. Patty very kindly at the last minute, prepared both the Dairy and the Pavilion so that we had a choice of either accommodation. It was not an easy choice to make with both really special places, well equipped and gorgeously situated amongst the stunning gardens of Prittelwel, a glorious property. We decided to stay in the Japanese Pavilion which was warm and inviting with a gas heater burning, tea and coffee, fresh milk and biscuits and the inviting and very comfortable bed with super fresh, crisp linen. The hot water in the shower is hot (almost instantly) and the towels, white as white and fluffy. We delighed in our walk through the gardens with a cup of hot tea on our arrival, fell asleep to the gentle sounds of the water feature in the adjoining koi pond and woke in the early morning hours to witness the star studded night skies. A slice of heaven. Thank you Patty for your excellent hospitality.

  • Patty was very friendly and accommodating. We booked the studio but were given the option of staying in the cottage as it was available, we stayed in the cottage. The cottage was very comfortable with a fireplace and really comfy bedding. It was well equipped with a kitchen and food such as fresh eggs, bacon, milk, juice, cookies and drinking water. We were provided with plenty of firewood to keep us warm at night and there are dvd's to watch. The gardens were immaculately maintained and were really beautiful. The lake and surrounding trees are very picturesque and was a nice place to relax. There is a japanese garden and fernery to explore and many acres of property to take a stroll through. They have 2 cats and a dog that were all very friendly and enjoyed the attention from us. My wife and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and we not only hope to return some day but also send our parents there for a weekend. Thanks Patty for a fantastic stay.

    Kurt2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the fireplace, and the morning sun filling the cottage with light and warmth on a crisp morning. The beautiful gardens were also a pleasure to explore and stroll around, and we had some fun taking the boat out for a row on the pond.

    marko2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay! Patty was very welcoming and showed us around her amazing property. A few photos don't do this little paradise enough justice. We could have easily spent the entire day wandering around taking amazing photos and exploring the acerages. If you want peace and tranquillity this is a definite...surrounded by amazing old trees and green pastures. We particularly loved the Japanese garden and the Koi fish in the pond right by the studio. Although we weren't around much during the day- the studio was light filled and warming- and the bed was a comfy cloud. We will definitely stay here again and are already recommending friends to stay also so they can take in the gorgeous property that Patty proudly shares. Nothing was an issue and Patty accommodated a late check out which was very much appreciated! Thanks Patty for giving us a slice of your heaven we would not otherwise get to experience! We will see you and the Cows again soon!

  • 5-stars all around. Spectacular 360 views, 10 mins to the local village, spotlessly well maintained, beautifully designed and styled. Jane was a brilliant host - ensuring we found our way to the location and even welcoming us with a bottle of wine. We highly recommend the place and would love to come back again!!

  • Barrengarry Hideaway is one of the most welcoming places I have stayed in. The house itself is unique, clean, and beautiful. A few friends and I stayed there over a long weekend and enjoyed sitting by the fireplace, playing games , eating good food and drinking wine from one of the local wineries. Wonderful little getaway from the big city smoke.

    Zahabiya2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house is in a such a beautiful setting and perfect for spending the morning in the sun on the deck, taking in the view. There was plenty of firewood available and is such a great set up for a group of friends or a family. As this place isn't in walking distance to anything, I would recommend bringing groceries and cooking up all meals at the house, as we did. We are a group of 6 girls in our mid-late twenties and had such a great weekend. I would happily return for another stay at barengary hideaway.

    Clare2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Barrengarry Hideaway. The place itself was perfect for what we needed, a lovely secluded home with great surrounds - perfect for a break from city life. The place itself is clean and modern, the kitchen well equipped (though could have done with a frying pan) and the bed nice and comfy. The outdoors is spectacular and we spent far too long taking turns on the hammock. We didn't do much in the surrounding area (maximising relaxing time!) but we headed to Jervis Bay one day which was fantastic and we did the Grand Pacific Drive home to Sydney which was nice. The only downside for us (apart from we couldn't stay longer!) was that it got very warm quickly, especially when you'd been cooking in the morning when the sun is still coming through the windows. But that definitely did not put a downer on the trip for us, it was a perfect break for us two and would love to return again.

    Marie2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely beautiful property! We had a great weekend here. The host is lovely and very informative. The property is hidden away but easily accessible to local attractions. We loved it! The view has to be seen to be believed. Highly recommended!

  • Superb location in Kangaroo Valley with fantastic views of surrounding hills and lots of greenery. Secluded location - 5 minute drive into town. House was well provided with bedding, towels, kitchen equip, books, games and modern tv / sound system. Good quality free wi-fi too. We were a family with young kids and loved the house and gardens. Would also be great for 2 or 3 couples. If only we could have stayed longer! Never mind - we will be back.

  • This listing exceeded our expectations. Chloe was a lovely host and both her and Graeme were easy to communicate with. Chloe's homemade beans were incredible as was the fresh bread and breakfast supplies. I was one play with Harry the Staffy away from smuggling him in my suitcase! An incredible location and the jacuzzi is the cherry on top! 10/10 will be back!

  • We needed a long over due quiet escape and The Grainery was the perfect spot. Everything was wonderful. It rained most of the weekend so was Very cozy watching DVDs by the fire. The breakfast supplied was yummy. Harry was so cute and the surroundings gorgeous to explore

  • One of my favorite air bnb stays.. it was picturesque, with absolutely breathtaking scenery. My highlight was sitting in the spa that overlooked the cliffside, watching the sunset. Perfect get away for couples wanting to reconnect and escape reality. Friendly hosts which provided all helpful tips for the area and all necessities needed for your stay. Not only friendly hosts but friendly animals to keep you company. Couldnt ask for a better, relaxing experience. We will be back

  • Hi Graeme, Just wanted to say that we really enjoyed our stay at the Grainery! Pictures do not do the accommodation or its surrounds justice, as it’s absolutely picturesque and a great place to stay and unwind. The accomodation and facilities were brilliant, the room was spacious and well equipped with lovely décor and appliances (fireplace, coffee machine, TV, etc.). The location of the Grainery is perfect for a weekend away and the property it is situated on is well kept and a testament to its owners, the spa and gardens were straight out of a magazine and it was a pleasure to be able to take it all in over our short stay. Definitely will be coming back and thank Graeme, Chloe and Harry for having us.

    Tristan2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Grainery is a fantastic place to stay. The spacious loft complete with a cozy fireplace is just perfect for two adults. It’s beautifully fitted out with quality furnishings and great attention to detail. The hot tub is an absolute highlight and makes a winter stay here just perfect. The view is breathtaking. Robes, umbrellas, rain coats and gumboots are all provided. Graham was out of town but Chloe made sure we felt welcome, showed us around and provided us with quality breakfast ingredients. We had a perfect weekend away and highly recommend the Grainery. You’ll love it!

    alison2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Grainery, while newly built, has all the character and style of a beautiful old farm building. The decor, finishes and furnishings are to the highest standard - and the fireplace stove makes the place wonderfully cosy on a cold winter's night. It is situated a few kms away from the 'main' road over the other side of a hill, facing on to a stunning and rugged escarpment. It is far enough away from the road and village to give it that feeling a remoteness, but the 10 minute drive to Kangaroo Valley proper makes it ideally located. Graeme and Chloe were wonderful hosts, offering advice on local walks and sights, as well a feeding session with the resident alpacas! Harry the staffy was always on hand for a play and a cuddle as well. The outdoor spa has to be one the best we've ever used (all kinds of jets, bubble and temperature control settings - and very spacious and comfortable) and faces out on to a magnificent view of the escarpment. A sunset spa is a must do while staying here. The breakfast provided in the room to self-cook was plentiful, good quality and fresh - and Graeme and Chloe were kind enough to also provide gluten free bread for my partner. The selection of games, DVDs and classic books were appreciated. We enjoyed a knock up on the tennis court, and once it has been re-laid it will be a great addition. Overall we were just disappointed that we had to leave after two nights! The Grainery makes for a wonderful and cosy winter break (we were there late July) - but with so much outdoor space it would, no doubt, make an excellent summer holiday location as well. Thanks to Graeme and Chloe for letting us enjoy their hidden gem - we'll certainly be back(URL HIDDEN)

Comprising four lovely spaces: the verandah, main room, a kitchen and bathroom. Right in the village - close to everything:
  • Saying this is an ideal spot for a romantic getaway is almost an understatement. While everything is so well laid out it could be in a book or photo shoot, it is also comfortable luxury and your own private space! There is a lovely outlook out front with the wisteria in bloom and Kangaroo Valley views, inside candles adorned the room and everything you need has been thought of. Enjoyed a couple of soaks in the impressive bath tub (appreciated after a bush walk!) and we washed away most of our cares, except the thought of having to leave. Thank you Bige for making our stay a memorable one!

    Finola2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at The Old Bakery. Bige is a great host, and the place is absolutely impeccable! The only place you should stay in Kangaroo Valley!

    Marija2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The old bakery is a beautifully presented cottage, perfect for a romantic getaway. Great location, just a short walk from the shops - I'd recommend it to anyone planning a stay in the kangaroo valley

    Brendon2015-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this as a Christmas gift for our parents. They had the most wonderful time and came back raving about how wonderful Bige was and how we HAD to visit ourselves. Bige was so easy to work with from the very beginning. I made a change to the booking and she was extremely accommodating. From my parents: We spent three wonderful days in Kangaroo Valley, returning each evening to the delightful “Old Bakery” right in the main street. Our host, Bige, provided ample treats and beverages for evenings on the beautiful, wisteria-covered verandah, and delicious bread, homemade jams and eggs for breakfast. The kitchen was well stocked with tea, coffee and condiments. There was plenty of room in the bed/sitting room and a lovely, light-filled bathroom. A comfortable sofa in the bed/sitting room was perfect for reading in the evenings and on the one day when we received torrential rain in the late afternoon. I can’t recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough and Bige is a friendly and thoughtful host with excellent recommendations for places to eat and visit in the local area. Five stars all the way (if I could give six stars I would!).

    Ashley2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our host made us feel welcome from the start. Bige catered for our early arrival time and met us out the front. She showed us the cottage, which was absolutely amazing. The pictures did not do the place any favours. The room was very boutique. There was fresh bread, cheese, eggs and sparkling mineral water waiting for us in the fridge as well as peanut butter and local jams in the cupboard. The bathrooms had really nice local soaps and shower gels. We were very lucky to arrive in Spring because all the flowers were blooming and the place looked amazing both inside and out. The location was literally a 30 second walk from the shops and cafes and served as a convenient midway point between our day trips to Bowral and Berry. We will definitely be back, it was such a nice relaxing end to our short family holiday in the Southern Highlands.

    Michael2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos on air BnB actually did not do this wonderful accomodation justice, it was only in person that we could really see just how much detail had gone into the old bakery, and each area was amazing and beautifully decorated. It was myself, husband and 3 month old son that stayed at the old bakery, we had more then enough room and loved the local town. Upon arrival we were amazed with the hospitality, greeted with fresh bread, butter, eggs and milk :) the heater was even on making for a lovely enterance. I highly recommend the old bakery to any couples wanting a very romantic weekend away, our highlight was wine and cheese on the balcony under fairy lights and candles

    Sam2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Arriving at the Old Bakery was like arriving home. Bige has decorated the small cottage beautifully and very comfortably. She had gone to a lot of trouble to turn the air conditioning on, and had kindly put wine, cheese and essentials in the fridge. The kitchen is well fitted out with everything one could need. The bathroom ticked the boxes with lovely towels, shampoos and lots of hot water. We enjoyed sitting on the front verandah surrounded by wisteria and her lovely plants. I couldn't fault the cottage and would thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.

  • An absolutely stunning setting and an extremely well maintained home. Clean, very comfortable with everything you need. Our stay was not long enough!! Caroline made it very easy!

  • From our booking confirmation to the farewell text, everything was handled extremely professionally. Newhaven is tastefully decorated with everything one could wish for. We would recommend this lovely home in beautiful surrounding for a getaway.

    Bev2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our families stayed at Newhaven over Christmas this year (2015) and it was exceptional. The house was immaculate, bigger than we expected and beautifully decorated with a well equipped kitchen that easily accomodated the festive season gluttony. The house is arranged in such a way that we didn't feel cramped or on each others toes. The brand new BBQ was a hit too! Caroline was incredibly prompt and consistent with information and help before our stay. My one mention for guests would be to exercise caution driving a van down the steep driveway. We needed assistance to get out!! Everyone was so impressed with our beautiful bush setting, the horses to watch loll in the paddock and comfy beds. A wonderful place to relax. It helped to make our first Christmas together amazing.

    Aimée2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at Carolines beautiful Kangaroo Valley home! From the moment we arrived we knew we would have a great couple of days relaxing with our families visiting from overseas. In the afternoons we sat out on the porch and watched several kangaroos eating on the big property, an absolute highlight of the stay! Caroline was so helpful and gave us lots of helpful information before and during our stay! I would highly recommend staying at this lovely house. We do not have a single complaint! Everything was perfect!

  • Excellent high end home you would expect to find in Kangaroo Valley at this price point. Rooms are large and has multiple living spaces to be able to spread out with extended family or friends to ensure a great weekend. Views are nothing short of spectacular, don't be surprised if your plans to visit town/bushwalk/go to the beach at Kiama 20 mins away etc fall through and you do nothing but sit and watch the day go by while watching the changing view across the valley while chatting with friends and wishing you didn't have to go back to work on Monday. Highly recommended, we'll be back.

    Dean 2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline made us feel very welcome and went through various things and how they worked in the house. The home is immaculate, very well appointed and extremely comfortable. Two words to describe it could be 'understated elegance'. We plan to return to Kangaroo Valley with other friends and will have no hesitation using this accommodation once again if available! Great sweeping views of the mountains and the valley on all sides. Less than 15 minutes to a beautiful golf course and many of the towns of the southern highlands and the south coast are only between half and hour to 45mins drive.

Secluded, well-equipped home, yet only 15 minutes from the centre of the village and close to wedding venues. Beautifully located at the base of the valley with stunning views and sounds of the creek. The home has been furnished in a comfortable style with plenty of room to either watch a movie, sit in front of a fire or cook a meal with your friends and family. This home is new to Airbnb but has been successfully run as a holiday home since 2014.

  • Me and my friends wanted to escape Sydney for the weekend and we haven't been disappointed. The house is beautiful, with all you need and the space is huge. It is located in the middle of the valley and you will be able to see wombats and kangaroos all day long from the terrace. Basically the perfect escape. Communicate with Jane and the team has been great before our arrival and they did everything so we would feel comfortable and we would find the house easily by night. Thanks again!

  • Thanks for an amazing time at Lavender Hill. We had a such a great time away from the busy life of Sydney, it was great to be amongst nature. We loved seeing the cows, Kangaroos, Wombats and Rabbits. It was lovely relaxing by the fire at night. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we would love to return.

    Renee2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at Lavender Hill over the weekend! So many cows, calves, sheep, lambs, wombats and kangaroos, an animal lovers delight! The house is situated far away from neighbors so plenty of privacy and the fireplace in the outdoor entertaining space was a game changer! We spent all night sitting around and didn't have to spend all day chopping wood because it was already supplied. Thinking of making this an annual trip!

The gorgeous 'Loughmore (pronounced lockh-more) Cottage' is an original Irish settlers slab hut, circa 1900. It is conveniently located in the heart of the village, Kangaroo Valley. Close to restaurants, cafes, an eclectic mix of shops, 'The Friendly Inn' pub and fun activities like canoeing and horse riding. You’ll love the cottage because of the cosy, nostalgic ambience. It's the perfect place for the ultimate romantic getaway. Bed linen, towels and a bag of firewood (winter only) is included.
The space has been lovingly created to provide the ultimate in comfort and cosiness for our guests. Moroccan rugs and interesting features add to the eclectic vibe of the cottage. There is an extensive private collection of art & design books in the library which you can flick through at your leisure (but please don't take them with you!), as well as a selection of retro classic DVD movies and CD's provided for your entertainment. The balcony is a fantastic place to sit at any time of the day to eat or drink and just watch the world go by.
  • Justine's place is cosy and the ideal location for a relaxing getaway. Justine is very hospitable and welcoming. All the comforts of home, with the added benefit of an open fire at this time of the year. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks again Justine!

  • Lovely cosy cabin right in Kangaroo Valley township. The cabin was nice, clean and comfortable. It has a nice homely feel, and is equipped with everything you need for a few days away. The locations is great - easy walking to cafes/restaurants and shops. The cottage is quite light, which is great during the day, but could mean early mornings for you if you wake with light.

  • Peter and Louise were excellent hosts. They were very friendly and welcomed us soon after our arrival but then left us to our own devices. (However, they were there when we needed them and promptly supplied a new microwave when the old one misbehaved.)

    Claire2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Kangaroo Valley and its nearby surrounds offer plenty of things to do, and the Kangaroo Valley Riverfront was an excellent place to stay. The hosts were friendly and the place conveniently located very close to the town. The loft style room was exactly as it was described online and we found it a really comfortable place to stay. They even left us some Easter Eggs! We would definitely love to come back some day.

  • We spent a most enjoyable Christmas holiday in Kangaroo Valley, staying at the Loft being one of the main reasons for feeling so great. The Loft is a beautifully situated property, very private, surrounded by a lovely garden, with access to the river. Louise and Peter are very welcoming (thank you for the Christmas touches around the Loft!) and considerate - perfect hosts! We hope we will have a chance to stay at the Loft again one day.

    Joanna2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay! Peaceful. Tranquil. Convenient. Peter and Loise were great hosts. They gave us the privacy we wanted and were very welcoming. The land is beautiful. We were immediatly relaxed. Having your own private corner of the river was just the icing on the cake.

Circa 1880's THE COTTAGE kangaroo valley is owned & curated by Australian Artist & Stylist LISA MADIGAN. An oasis of charm, calm & textural delight. Settle into the crisp white & cosiness, rejuvenate the senses & embrace the local environment.
Originally housing The Kangaroo Valley Times, a local newspaper from the late 1800's, THE COTTAGE has beautiful original featured mixed with the new. An industrial style kitchen sits side by side with an old brick fireplace, soft white linens & fine art pieces. Finishes of raw woods, concrete, luxurious oil paintings & textural details throughout, evoke a beautiful sense of warmth & curation beyond an ordinary stay. G A R D E N ~ THE COTTAGE kangaroo valley sits nestled behind two beautiful crepe myrtles & an old federation palm tree. The property is sizeable with plenty of space outdoors within the garden for an al fresco lunch or some late night star gazing. Gardenias sprout in summer & the trees loose their leaves in winter with an autumnal hue & spring zing between.
  • Had the most wonderful time at Lisa's cottage! From the moment we walked through the doors we felt the warmth and gorgeousness of the space. Lisa was generous and kind - more than anyone could hope for. Her little social touches - from perfect communication to local suggestions - just added to making it the perfect week! We can't not wait to get back there.

So much live for this place :)

  • THE COTTAGE is the most perfect place to unwind and find peace and quiet from the busy city life. From the moment we opened the front door, we knew we were staying in a very special space. Every little detail has been considered in THE COTTAGE, from the beautiful interior styling to the creature comforts (Aesop and IN BED - yes please!). You have everything you could ever need to make your stay feel like your home away from home. I highly recommend curling up on the comfortable lounge in front of the fire with a good book and a glass of red. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for sharing such a serene, rejuvenating and inspiring space with us, Lisa.

  • Allambie Gums is a treasure for spending time in a Kangaroo Valley. Accommodation is as described, clean, excellent quality and everything you need, plus a great selection of teas which was appreciated. Cheryl was very easy to deal with and invested to ensure my stay was comfortable. Would highly recommend

  • Nice quiet spot. Lots of DVDs which was great. Lovely gardens and view from bathroom and kitchen

    Victoria2015-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Allambie Gums is a lovely place in the midst of Kangaroo valley. It's about 15min walk to the village centre, and in a little side road of off the main road (i.e.very quiet). The apartment is spacious, and well kept, the beds are very comfortable. The little fenced off area around the pool is ideal to hang out, listen to the birds and relax. We had a great time in and around Kangaroo valley. I would definitely recommend Cheryl's place to other people, and might be back myself.

    Michael2015-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful holiday retreat! The bush scenery is fantastic, the grounds are peaceful and the house clean and comfortable. As a group of 2 couples, the place was highly suitable for our needs. We self catered for several meals and my advice to others looking to self cater would be to bring plenty of ingredients with you as the local shops have a limited selection. Salad type meals are good as there are limited cooking facilities kitchen for heating food. Would definitely recommend it and return again. We really like Kangaroo Valley now!

    Demian2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time. Quiet, relaxed - just what we needed. It was very hot, so the pool was fantastic to have!

    anita2016-12-18T00:00:00Z

    Sheila2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Allambie Gums was lovely. Contact with Cheryl was always consistent and she was always there to respond. The place is nice and clean, spacious enough for two people and the garden was perfect to wander around. Even though there is no stove the large heat pan was enough to cook dinner and breakfast. Cheryl left a guide book that allowed us to explore the Valley. Definitely recommended and will definitely return when I come back to Kangaroo valley.

  • The Riverview Treehouse was just that; a house raised high above the river amidst the trees. Although it rained torrentially for the three days that we were there we were still able to enjoy the views of a fast flowing river, the trees and bird life. The hallway, main living section and master bedroom were filled with light and the kitchen was very well equipped. The area was quiet, very green and yet within walking distance to the main town of Kangaroo Valley. The township was very quaint and had some lovely cafes together with a pub where we enjoyed a meal and live entertainment. Our stay was very relaxing, made so pleasant because of our accommodation and very timely communication from our host Jeana. We would definitely like to return for another stay.

Upon opening the doors we immediately felt relaxed with the rain teaming down the glass doors overlooking the spectacular deck. It wasn't long before we lit the gas fireplace to feel nice and cosy and have a glass of wine that was waiting on arrival. The Treehouse is nicely decorated and has all the amenities for a weekend away. All our guest were more than happy with the accommodation and had a great sleep on the comfy beds. With the rain, we couldn't enjoy the open fire pit but had the opportunity to spend some time on the deck overlooking the river. Highly recommend the Treehouse for any traveller looking for clean, quiet and welcoming accomodation in Kangaroo Valley.

The River House is a charming & loved home with a unique outlook over the stunning Kangaroo River. At the front of the property you will find a contained garden (perfect for children), wrap around verandah & alfresco dining area. Inside, the house offers timber floors, a wood combustion fireplace and an abundance of natural light. The rear of the property spills out over the river, with large windows, a generous deck and BBQ facilities. Our home is conveniently located a 10 min walk from town.
Light-filled open plan home with stunning views over the Kangaroo River.
Kangaroo Valley is often described as the most beautiful valley in Australia. Our community is a lovely mixture of locals and Sydney dwellers visiting their 'weekenders'. Generally speaking we are a friendly, artistic, educated and environmentally conscious community. The Valley village contains a country pub, multiple cafes, a post office and a general store (with delicious locally made organic milk, bread and cheese!). Please note that Kangaroo Valley DOES NOT have a supermarket. We advise all visitors to do a big shop up on their way in at either Bowral, Kiama, Berry or Nowra. There is an abundance of things to do in the area, which makes our home an ideal base to explore the region. A few highlights include: - Sydney - our property is an easy 2hr drive to the heart of Sydney - Jervis Bay - only 45 minutes from our doorstep, Jervis Bay offers incredible surfing, diving, kayaking, hiking and camping. - The beach - we're a very pretty 30 minute drive from the stunning golden sand beaches of east coast Australia - Morton Park - a 20 minutes drive will take you to the incredible Fitzroy Falls, and the charming towns of the Southern Highlands. - Lazy days at home enjoying long swims, canoeing, reading, resting, lazy lunches, and evening BBQ's.
  • This property is simply beautiful, a real piece of paradise. Marieka is a wonderful host and we couldn't have asked for more. Pure heaven

  • Gorgeous place that offered us a few days to switch off from the craziness of work/life in Sydney. Marieke was in contact to ensure we knew what was happening and had the house set up ready for our arrival. We will be back!!

    Rebecca2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit to Marieka's place was everything we expected and much more.

  • The River House is all the photos show plus more. The setting is magical - you almost feel like you're a part of the life of the river below - the tranquil waterhole the house overlooks, and beacon for native birds and animals it provides. The house itself is gorgeous, and perfectly appointed down to every last detail. It is a lovely comfortable home and the garden out the front is a delight, with another gorgeous outdoor dining area if you can drag yourself away from that river view on the balcony at the back of the house. There's also a quiet, cool central room to read and watch TV on a hot day. The River House makes for a super relaxing mini-break or longer booking. Highly recommended!!!!

    Patricia2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly beautiful house, perched right on a scenic and tranquil bend in the river. We were there over a rainy weekend, but we didn't really mind as it was so nice to just hang out in the house and watch the river go by.

    Stephen2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great home Great location Near to hiking, bike riding, the beach & cafes. Or perfect just to sit & enjoy looking at the bush & the river. Very peaceful

    Lyn2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wow wow wow. We hit jackpot booking this. We actually would love to live here and it ticks every box in our eyes. What a beautiful secluded spot. Sitting on the deck with breaky and the river flowing in background. It's so very well done as well with quality furniture and the owners have an eye for style. AirBNB has outdone itself and the bar has been set high. If you're thinking about this place, you won't regret it. BOOK IT!

    Chris2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Marieka's place is breath taking. From the herb garden out front, to the river views out back the house is full of surprises. Inside is a beautifully curated house, equipped with everything you'll need for a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Location is great, what with the views, and easy stroll to the village. A short drive away and you'll see hundreds of Roo's and if you're lucky, a Wombat or two! Book for a break you'll never forget :)

There are parks and walking adventures right from the doorstep of Stella Ann. A short drive will see you on the golf corse or in a vineyard. One can canoe down the river with the local canoe safari or bring your own kayak. The possibilities are endless.. but I must confess sitting on the old veranda with a cups listening to the birds and relaxing in the comfort of the multiple-options for relaxation.. is what I love the best😘
  • In the centre of Kangaroo Valley, yet quiet. Distance to the restaurants and other little shops easy 2 mins walking distance. Easy check-in/out. Too bad it wasn't cold, would've loved the fireplace I'm sure. Thanks Heather.

Grey Gums is a recent owner built, eco friendly, unique cottage offering great value accommodation. Surrounded by tall gums in a rural setting, The light, airy house is all yours to enjoy on 12 acres with the kangaroos, wombats and the birds.
Grey Gums is hand crafted from recycled materials and sandstone coloured Timbercrete bricks. The house features quality woodwork fittings and furnishings for you to enjoy. It is light and spacious and exudes serenity. There are 4 bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed and one has a king single also. We supply quality linen for you. There is a 3 way bathroom and an ensuite bathroom with the master bedroom. 3 spacious showers and 2 bath tubs add to the comfort of your stay. This will enable many guests to get ready for a wedding or to relax after a long day in the outdoors. We can accommodate a small 10th person on our fold out bed. There is a hot outdoor shower and bathtub in which to soak providing soothing relaxation under the stars amidst the serenity of grey gums, scribbly gums and other native bush, rain or shine. Enjoy al fresco dining in our new outdoor covered area. There are 4 sets of outdoor tables and chairs for different uses. Outdoor fire pit surrounded by rustic seating enhances your stay on cosy nights. We provide all the wood for the outdoor fire pit and the indoor wood heater. View the night sky and constellations with no light pollution. There is a large, well equipped modern kitchen with a coffee maker and an outdoor barbecue. A selection of teas, coffee, milk and olive oil are provided. You are welcome to add to your meals with tasty treats from our kitchen garden and citrus trees when the veggies, herbs and fruit are in season. As we make our own electricity and solar hot water, collect rain water, and take care of sewage on site, you can minimize your environmental impact. We recycle all the plastics, metal, glass, paper and organics in the bins provided. You don't need to bring bottled water as the rain water is very clean to drink and tastes fantastic but is safe as we use a UV light to kill microbes, not chlorine. Relax in front of the cosy, wood fired heater to watch TV ----- or lose yourself in a good book. There is a variety of indoor games and lots of perfect holiday reading in our collection of books and magazines for both children and adults and many nooks for relaxing. Kangaroos, wombats and a variety of native birds frequent the property, which backs on to a nature reserve overlooking the Kangaroo River. Spring time is the time to see the echidnas out on a walkabout. For those energetic souls, or those who love a casual stroll, this provides for some very scenic bush walking. There is also a 150m bushwalk on the property with many local plants identified and discussed. Because of our natural setting with many wild animals and that we border the Kangaroo River Nature Reserve which has fox (and DOG!) poisoning bait stations, means that we cannot be a pet friendly accommodation. Bushwalk (medium difficulty) for approximately 30 minutes to the Kangaroo River through scribbly gum forest and dry and shallow creek bed for a refreshing swim.
We are a five minute drive from lovely Kangaroo Valley Village but as we are set on 12 bush acres, it feels like you are far removed from the city. Our neighbours are quite far away and will not impact upon your stay. Drive further on down the road to view the many kangaroos and wombats that come out if the late afternoon.
  • It is a lovely home in a beautiful spot with all you need to for a really comfortable stay. It's only a short drive to shops and restaurants but has a great bush setting. I loved the bush walk the hosts had constructed. The hosts were great. I would thoroughly recommend staying at this place.

    Amanda2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for having us at your stunning house. The fire place was already lit when we got there so the house was warm and cosy. The house is everything plus more. They have thought of everything. Even things you haven't thought about bringing away for a holiday. The board games are brilliant. The dvd/video selection is brilliant. You must be coffee and tea drinkers because you had the best their. The beds are so comfy. It rained all weekend and we didn't leave the house and we didn't feel the need to. It's such a comfortable house. Even my two year old was devastated that we had to go. Thank you for making a home away from home. We would love to come back.

    Christine2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Place was quiet, beautiful and had everything we needed. Close to Kangaroo Valley (town) - about a 5 min drive. Hosts were lovely, especially Misty. Gorgeous house with modern amenities, including wifi. Only negative is needing to go out side to make/receive phone calls (due to no signal indoors). Fire pit outdoors was also great!

    Sarah2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Dennis' place. Amazing house, welcoming, cosy located in the middle of a peaceful environment. Dennis made the place so nicely decorated, Eco friendly and perfect for a relaxing weekend. The place is super clean, nice messages in the property very useful to make the stay easy and high standard bedding and essentials. We will definitely book again and recommend to friends and family who want to stay in the Kangaroo valley.

  • The perfect place for a relaxing country-escape. We found everything we were looking for at Dennis and Helens place: secluded beautiful home, surrounded by forest, superbly kitted with activities for kids of all ages, clean comfortable and cosy, with nature walks at the doorstep, an outdoor firepit, and many pleasant surprises along the way - like a coffee machine, a treasure hunt for the kids, and kangaroo visitors!

    Mihaal2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and Helen's pace is beautiful and exactly what you need for a weekend away! It's really close to the town but feels super secluded. We loved the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit and all the rooms are great with super comfy beds. The house was spotless and had everything you'd want to cook a meal with friends. We'll definitely be coming back!

    Andrea2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis’ place was peaceful, spacious and had all that was needed for a weekend away. I stayed with a group of friends and we were a short drive away from the Kangaroo Valley village. It was a great added extra to be able to walk around the property as well as use produce from the vegetable garden. Dennis was very hospitable, informative and welcoming. I would recommend this property for a peaceful weekend away, close to nature and not far from quaint villages.

Private and tranquil, this intimate, environmentally efficient cottage is perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway or for accommodation whilst attending local weddings and events.
This property is proudly managed by Holiday Rental Specialists – Highlands Holidays The Gardener’s Cottage was, as the name implies, especially built for the gardener residing on this beautiful rural estate. We think you will enjoy the romance of the cottage and its beautiful setting …and hopefully go home with a fresh new take on life too! The Gardener’s Cottage is privately situated at the end of a country lane, just 5 km from Burrawang village. Follow the signs along a hedge-lined driveway to find the cottage nestled behind with stunning views from the sunny front porch through the paddocks to the escarpment. Wander around the property at dusk for magnificent sunset views, or venture to nearby Fitzroy Falls for many bush walks. The cottage is exceptionally well presented, is thermally efficient and has lots of character. It is well insulated with polished concrete floors that are cool in summer and retain heat in winter. Tank water, an environmental waste system, and low energy appliances all contribute to this property’s “green” credentials. The décor is fun and stylish, including some handmade features such as light shades made from fencing wire from the property. Use of natural products and recycled wood also enhance the ambiance. Instead of electric blankets, internet and a dishwasher… you will find cosy hot water bottles, a wood heater, a Nespresso pod coffee machine, TV with DVD, tranquil spots to sit and walk on the property, a hammock to relax under the trees and free ranging chickens who will oblige with fresh eggs when available. Please understand that for safety reasons, we cannot accept bookings with children and pets. This is a working farm, with cattle in surrounding paddocks and unfenced water hazards. The cottage also has an exposed steel firebox in the living area which poses a significant danger to small children. The Gardener’s Cottage is the perfect property for a romantic getaway for 2. The property features: • Fully equipped kitchen including oven/stove, Nespresso pod coffee machine and microwave • Contemporary, stylish sitting room with slow combustion wood heater • Cosy tranquil bedroom with robes and hot water bottles • Covered verandah with rural views to the escarpment • Flyscreens • Outdoor setting with BBQ • Queen bed with quality cotton linen, warm doonas and plump pillows • Bathroom including full laundry facilities Bedroom configuration: • 1 Queen bedroom • Main bathroom with full laundry
  • Wonderful, scenic, quiet cottage in Wildes Meadow. Hosts Annie and Mike were wonderful, leaving a lot of personal touches to make it a great stay in the area. Mike even took me for a bike ride! Perfect break, we will be back for sure. Cat, Chris and Eva

  • We adored our stay at the gardeners cottage. We generally like complete privacy during air bnb stays and this is what we got. The house was cute and elegant and had a great kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal. The view was serene... especially when the cows came to visit each evening! A great place for some down time!

    Janique2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at The Gardeners Cottage. Annie was welcoming when we arrived and had even left us some eggs, yoghurt and a few extra things which was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped and the property was homely and had everything we needed for 2 nights, including some extras like blankets, water bottles, robes and gumboots to walk around the property. Our favourite thing was the fire place which made the whole place super cosy for a Winter getaway! Location is good if you're looking for something secluded but a bit far out if you're looking to be close to shop/restaurants - it was about 20mins to Bowral. Although it was a little pricey, we enjoyed our stay overall.

    Scott2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • So much more than we could have hoped for! The cottage exceeded all expectations, and somehow the photos just didn't do it justice. Will definitely be booking here again in the future!

  • We were made to feel so welcome by everyone - Kim, Judy, and Michael. They were very easy to talk to and provided everything we needed. The house was presented beautifully, and we didn't want to leave. It felt like home to come back to at the end of a day exploring. Judy provided some excellent dining suggestions including The Lookout Restaurant at Mt Cambewarra and The General (in town), both providing fantastic meals, service, and views/ambience. The local Thai restaurant does amazing food too. We loved the privacy of our own cottage and the gorgeous tranquil environment. We caught a glimpse of the resident wombat, and saw many cows, kangaroos, and native birds. Mt Ashby Winery is also well worth a visit for coffee beside the fireplace or a yummy lunch. Overall, a fantastic trip, with everything as expected by the cottage and the hosts.

  • Beautiful house in the kangaroo valley. Good fireplace, lovely kitchen and rooms. Was very welcoming with a brief tour of the house as well as local attractions. Do make sure to bring something warm, it can get cold in Winter.

  • Our stay in Kangaroo Valley was amazing! The house is well-equiped and, most importantly, warm - the fire in the lounge creates a beautiful atmosphere. Kim's parents, Judy and Mike, made us feel welcome. Their home is close enough...and yet the guest house is private and secluded with your its own separate entrance. The village is delightful with much to do and see in the surrounding district. Well worth a stay.

  • We had a great stay at Bedside Manor! The house was well maintained, cosy and perfect for the 5 of us. The location is so beautiful too, with the beautiful flowers, rolling green hills and the cows right next door! The main town area so close by too. A big thanks to Judy who was lovely and so helpful! We would love to visit again :)

  • We had a great stay here - two fantastic days of exploring Kangaroo Valley (you're in easy reach of all the best spots, wallabies and wombats are easy to find within a 5-10 min drive) and two very cosy evenings in (you won't want to eat out when you have the wood burner going and a glass of good red). Our hosts were very helpful and I'm sure they'd have been on hand if we'd needed anything. Would happily stay again next time we're down this way!

We enjoyed a wander around the back paddock which abuts the Morton National Park. We enjoyed the relaxing evening drinks by the fire and a delicious breakfast. David and Lindy know the area well and have great suggestions on where to explore and where to eat. We would highly recommend and would love to stay again.

  • Our stay at the Laurel's B&B was lovely. Lindy and David made us feel very welcome, the B&B is very homely, comfortable and warm during the cold winter nights. We especially enjoyed the cheese and wine by the fire in the evening, as well as the wholesome brekky the next morning! Our room was also very pretty and comfortable with delicious homemade cookies! Conveniently located, just a short drive or bike ride to the village, and with warm and kind hosts, we wouldn't hesitate to return to this lovely B&B xx

  • A gorgeous home set in rolling green hills. The property is surrounded by dairy cows and kangaroos, and is serene and quiet. David and Lindy are lovely hosts, attentive but not intrusive. The breakfast was delightful and the home is truly gorgeous. Very clean and great decor, a much needed night of indulgence after a week on the road! Will be recommending to friends and family for a place to stay in Kangaroo Valley.

  • We arrived at the Laurels running very late for a wedding at a nearby venue. I was very grateful at how promptly Lindy greeted me and showed me our room! The property and surrounding landscape is beautiful as is the house. I loved the decor. Lindy made us feel so welcome. She is an excellent story teller and a really warm person. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding too. Looking forward to returning for a relaxing weekend sometime.

  • I loved my stay at The Laurels, Lindy was so warm and welcoming when I arrived, my room was beautiful and super clean (and very warm given it was so cold). Breakfast was delicious and Lindy and David made me feel very much at home :) This truly was money well spent and I plan on another visit. Thanks to David and Lindy for having me, I highly recommend The Laurels to anyone!

  • Had a wonderful stay here for a quick mid-week getaway from Sydney. David and Lindy were incredibly welcoming, making me feel very much at home when i arrived and being attentive and helpful throughout my stay. The property is in a beautiful country setting (the photos do not do it justice!) and it is a perfect escape for a bit of tranquility.

The house is very well equipped, the beds are super comfy and the central placed chimney was a big hit as it was a very rainy week-end. Thanks for everything Aymeric !

  • Amazing location, secluded, with an amazing shared area perfect for hanging out and entertaining. The larger room with the couch is not behind a closed door, and the BBQ is on the smaller side. Plenty of condiments and tools in the kitchen for cooking and plenty of heaters around the house for winter! Had a great weekend here and would recommend!

Tim & Nicola were fantastic hosts, very helpful & accommodating. It was loverly to spend some time chatting with Tim, who made us all feel incredibly welcome. We are already looking at dates to come back, next time with the family! Thanks guys for a great experience, we hope to see you again very soon!

  • Our hosts were thoughtful, responsive and discreet. The home is lovely and spacious and a short enjoyable walk to Fitzroy Falls.

  • Tim and Nikki where very welcoming when we arrived to Timbalah, we arrived early with our group of friends and they already had the house set up with the heated floors and snacks for us. Nikki was a pleasure to deal with on the phone, with prompt replies and kindness. The house is beautiful and has a very warming presence, which I can't recommend enough. Thank you so much again Nikki and Tim

  • A lovely property within a short distance of Fitzroy Falls. It's great for families or a large group (which we were). Note that the property is in a cul de sac and in close proximity to other residences, so you will have to be mindful of the neighbourhood. The jacuzzi is awesome, but a bit of a distance from the house itself: you have to walk across to the back of the yard where it is in a standalone little hut. So it's great during the day and at dusk, but a bit dicey after dark. The house is huge and beautiful, with a large fireplace and pool table. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there is a BBQ that guests can use as well. There is plentiful cutlery and crockery if you are making and eating meals at the property. There are spa baths in both bathrooms. The master bedroom suite is huge, but it is open to the rest of the house so lacks privacy if you were hoping for a self-contained room. The other rooms are in standard bedrooms. Great linen.

  • BEAUTIFUL house!! My family and I stayed here over the weekend as we were in town for my wedding. Perfect location for a family dinner before the big celebrations. The house is stunning and well appointed with all the comforts you could wish for and more. Our hosts made us feel welcomed as though we were at home.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Timbalah. The property is gorgeous (the photos barely do it justice!), and was warm during the cold winter nights with a fireplace and heating in the bedrooms. The falls are a 10 minute walk away, and the surrounding towns are great to explore. As an unexpected and delightful personal touch, Tim brought us fresh firewood each day, and even went searching for kindling for us on the Friday evening.

    Parker2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Timbalah was the perfect long weekend destination. It comfortably housed our sizeable group of 9 (with an infant) and the house itself made us never want to leave! The pool table and fireplace made for fan favourite additions. Location was perfect for Fitzroy Falls for anyone looking to have a bushwalk. Nikki was a great host who patiently and promptly answered all of my questions about the house and the area. Would recommend!

We are 10mins from Fitzroy Falls and Burrawang Pub & 20mins to Bowral. We are a short walk to the escarpment overlooking Kangaroo Valley. You can also do an array of exciting activities onsite from high trapeze, tree climbs, archery and giant swings with one of our qualified instructors. You’ll love our place because of it's beauty, tree ferns & rainforest. The place is great for intimate to large groups with a games room, fire pit, tennis court, putt putt, commercial kitchen and indoor fires.
  • The experience we had was so amazing that we all hope we can come back again & bring the kids. Alistair, Abi & Johnny were perfect hosts. Abi showed us the area & things we can do outside the place, like doing the Fitzroy Falls walkabout which is a 2 min drive. But the most amazing experience was the activities in the area itself. In the morning, the kids did the Giant Swing, Archery & Trapeze. My goodness, everyone had an adrenalin rush & we all laughed & bonded as family. After dinner, there's a Games Room with everything in it! Billiard table, Table tennis, Darts, Hockey table even a Keyboard which the kids used for jamming. The Games Room was heated too. All rooms were heated as it was the middle of winter & there was a wood fire heater in the living room. Then we had a big bonfire lit by Alistair where we had roasted marshmallows, etc. The camp grounds & the house was massive & there were so many things to do. We also loved the twin tennis courts too. There was also a pool but it was winter so we didn't take a swim. What else can I say? The kitchen was a commercial kitchen, with 2 ovens & 2 stoves - one is a 4 burner & another is a 6 burner stove. They also have a long bbq cooker in their huge wooden deck where we basked in the sun at lunchtime. Big place for running around, everyone enjoyed the experience. I'll rate it 5 stars because I can't rate it 6 stars. And Alistair, you are so great! A perfect host!

  • Great place in the outdoors, friendly host who visits 2/3 times per day. Good facilities

  • When we arrived at Fitzroy falls conference & convention center, Alison welcomed us with warm and heartfelt greeting. Then she took us to our house which was a 13 beds house. As soon as we walked into the house, there was an enormous (it is really big) room which is combined with dining space, lounge and of course the fireplace. A well equipped kitchen with all amenities is also located next to the dining space, which was really convenient to cook and easily accessible. Then we went to see our bedrooms and all the rooms were preheated, exactly what we needed in this early winter morning. The beds were done nicely with fresh sheets and blankets. In addition to that, all the amenities were provided such as towel, hand soap etc. The bathrooms were nice and clean too. Just outside the big room there was place to sit and also a BBQ machine. Then we followed her to the best part the entire property which is the games room located just outside the house. We had so much fun in that games room that we wish we could stay few more days. There were Foosball, Table Tennis, Dart, Air Hockey, Pool which kept us so busy that we didn't realize we spend 4 hours just there. This is probably why we had great time there even though it was raining outside. The best part of this property is that there is a lot to do inside the property which kept us occupied even though we couldn't go out because of the rain. We didn't feel bored for once. In terms of location, the house is located the best place possible if you wish to visit the national parks around such as Budderoo, Fitzroy falls, Carrington falls etc.

  • Alison and Ian we great hosts. They made our stay a very pleasant one. Ian came and lit the fire for us, took our kids to do some fun activities (flying fox and giant swing) which topped off the trip. I would highly recommend this place if you want the kids to get off their iPads and into the great outdoors.

  • Alison and her family were great hosts! They met us promptly as we arrived and were always friendly and easy to get into contact with if we needed any help. This place was really great. It was very spacious for my group of friends and has a lot to offer in terms of onsite activities such as a games room and outdoor sports with all the equipment provided

    Rachael2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Allison were forthcoming and easily contactable prior to arriving at the site. While we were there everyone was very accommodating (they even gave us a lovely sticky date pudding!) helping us with directions to the nearby waterfall and turning on the appliances. Being the end of winter it was sitting around 3 degrees but all the bedrooms had a heater and the living area had a wood fire to keep us warm and toasty. I also loveedddd the two doggies buster and mini who were lovely. Buster took us for a walk to the waterfall!

  • Graham and Susan were genuine and welcoming hosts and provided excellent Food for our consumption. They were very kind to our Pug - Banksy. We slept really well and the Bathroom is beautifully decked out. We probably would not return as it was not totally up to our expectations with some standard amenities lacking

  • Graeme and Sue left some wonderful treats in the kitchen for our arrival. The house was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The setting is tranquil and close to the Kangaroo Valley village. On the minus side, the two smaller bedrooms are a little cramped and we were disappointed to find that neither of the two vaunted coffee machines were operational - one had long since broken down and the other had no basket filter. A frying pan (we got by with the barbecue) and some sharper knives or a sharpener would have made my friends' gourmet cooking easier. In all the property was very pleasant and we very much enjoyed our stay.

    James2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Graham's place was just perfect for a few days away from the city. The pool was awesome with temperatures pushing 40 and the welcome platter was great and just what we needed after the drive down. Even after a concerted effort we couldn't get through all of the goodies provided! It was great hanging out at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable and we all slept well in the peaceful surrounds. The village is only a short walk away with some good cafes and a decent pub - convenient too for kayaking just down the road. Highly recommended.

    Simon2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay, the outlook is delightful and the property is really comfortable. We were welcomed with a houseful of roses and some yummy treats including a seafood plate and some home baked items! We really enjoyed our stay and would definetly stay again.

    Jennifer2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely house in a lovely location. Warm, welcoming and comfortable with everything we needed. All the little extras - flowers from the garden in every room, cheese and salmon plates, homemade cake and biscuits - were a lovely surprise and very appreciated. Lovely to have fluffy towels and bathrobes. Great that it's pet friendly too - the poodle loved it! We will be back!

The Church, built in 1887, remodelled in 1966, sits on a rise at the edge of the village. Recently converted into a unique holiday home. It is light, spacious, has all amenities and is in strolling distance of cafes, restaurants, galleries and pool.
The open plan living area has a king size bed beneath the stained glass window. There is a television and a good selection of quality DVDs, CDs, books and games, plus an additional sofa bed. The electric kitchen is fully equipped and the large blue gum dining table accommodates spread newspapers as well as breakfast, lunch or dinner. The bath and shower are fuelled by instant gas hot water and there is a gas BBQ on the veranda. The 5 metre high ceiling and tall windows give excellent light and the furnishings are unique - the bed and table being custom made, the pulpit has been incorporated into the kitchen with the large dining table opposite. The yard is enclosed to contain labradors and leap-challenged smaller dogs. There are vegetables and fruit trees which offer modest harvest in season and there is ample firewood for the combustion stove in winter.
Kangaroo Valley is a beautiful hidden gem about 2hrs south of Sydney, when driving there the views are breathtaking, the village has maintained all of its original rustic charm with a large selection of shops and cafe's. It is possible to hire a canoe and explore further up the kangaroo river, if your lucky you may even see a platypus, or take on one a local walks and learn about Australia's pioneer past.
  • We had a lovely and comfortable stay in this unusual place. Good kitchen and good facilities. Very close to the centre of town.

  • We really enjoyed staying at the Church. The place really had character, was very spacious and yet warm and friendly. It was really close to everything and yet surrounded by so much greenery and nature. It was also clean and the instructions were clear.

  • We had a wonderful weekend staying in the Church in Kangaroo Valley. It is a wonderful space that felt funky, homely and welcoming all at the same time. The light streaming in through the big windows was wonderful on the Saturday afternoon. If you are staying there during cold weather get into the fire as quickly as possible as it is a big space to heat. Thanks so much for a wonderful space for my wife and I to spend a quiet weekend together away from the kids!

    Jeremy2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • A very unique space, made homely and comfortable. Kitchen condiments came in handy and the king-sized bed provided a good night's sleep. Proximity to road is the only drawback, but the spacious church interior makes up for it.

    Kimberley2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky and lovely place to stay in a great setting.

    Alison2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Church is a unique, spacious and fabulously situated place for a Kangaroo Valley retreat. It's very well set up if you want to take advantage of the local produce and cook for yourself. The market was on the weekend we were there, virtually over the road from the property, and we were able to buy the best sausages we've ever eaten from a local grazier, fabulous local potatoes from a potato farmer, and assorted herbs and veggies from the local co-op, then bring them all back and rustle up a fabulously fresh meal to enjoy at the huge dining table. We loved that we were able to bring our two whippets to holiday with us and they lounged very happily on their dog beds in the large space. The property is a fabulous spot to bring your dogs and laze around, but be forewarned that there are actually very few places to take them around Kangaroo Valley if you're keen to go walking and wandering. All the great walks in the area are through National Parks and other reserves where dogs aren't allowed. The Kangaroo Valley tourist info service couldn't help us with any ideas on where we might be able to go with dogs locally. There is a walk out the back of the Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Museum where dogs can go for a certain distance but no further. The Museum itself is a unexpected gem, though. You have to pay to enter the museum to get access to the walking track behind, but since we had to pay for one to get to the other we luckily stumbled upon the weird and wonderful collections contained in the collection of museum buildings, including snakes in jars and a stuffed lyrebird, a glorious apron from the 1930s embroidered with the likeness of Don Bradman, and all kinds of beautifully made and lovingly mended treasures left behind by locals. The location of the church is just on the edge of the Kangaroo Valley village itself, so everything is walkable, and the local pool is directly over the road if it's hot. If it is hot, though, be prepared for it to be hot inside the church. There are ceiling fans, which are lovely, but they just couldn't cope with the weather on the weekend we were there and it was still 27 degrees at night inside, with the ceiling fans just moving the hot air around. We were resorting to frequent showers and then laying directly underneath the fans to try to cool off. We had to spare a thought for the former parishioners of this church who had to sit through long sermons without benefit of showers and ceiling fans!

    Kathryn2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Church is very impressive. You can tell a great deal of care and effort has been put into renovating it and setting it up for a comfortable stay. It was lovely staying somewhere so big and spacious. It was an easy stroll to town where there were lots of lovely restaurants, shops, cafes and a small convenience stall. We loved the selection of DVDs especially on the rainy days. Check in and out was extremely easy. We didn't have contact with anyone nor any reason to need to be in contact with them. A lovely place to stay as a couple on a weekend away. It may not work that well if you have kids as it's all the one room so there's no separate sleeping areas or place to go for early risers. Thoroughly recommend.

  • Spending a night at Greg's Sunnybank cottage was an absolute delight. The cottage is clean, bright, has excellent facilities, and is very peaceful. The property itself is gorgeous - plenty of roaming wildlife, tracks for bushwalking, and impressive views of the escarpment can be enjoyed from the cottage. We intend to come back again someday!

  • Sunnybank was amazing! I can't speak highly enough of the location and presentation of the cottage. The cottage has total privacy and some amazing views. We'll definitely be returning for a second visit.

  • My husband and I booked to stay at Sunnybank for our first wedding anniversary - and it was perfect! Dianne was always prompt with replies and very helpful with giving directions. Sunnybank was private, clean, and had all amenities needed including delicious bread, eggs and condiments for breakfast. Waking up to the sunrise and the incredible view over the valley was so beautiful and it felt like we were the people on the huge property for the entire weekend. The property was perfect bush-walking, and without any access to technology (i.e. phone reception or wifi), it was the perfect destination for a relaxation getaway. We would highly recommend this property and have already started planning as to when we can go back!

  • What a beautiful, secluded little cottage with such magnificent scenery and views. It is so quite and tranquil here, it's the perfect city escape - there is very little cellular connection so you an really get back to nature. The complementary milk, bread jams and wine were such a lovely bonus. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Angela2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience was awesome. Exactly what we were after. We arrived and there was no one to be seen, we were greeted by horses and wallabies. Our cottage was set and ready to go, door was open. We then seek the caretaker as we wanted to ask some info so we rang him. He was steadily available and was such an awesome guy. Got us some fresh eggs and told us a bit about the farm and the lifestyle there. Offered us a lift in his UTE and came to pick us up the next morning so we could feed the animals and so. The place is beautiful. Loved it !

  • Sunnybank is as advertised, secluded with stunning views. Log fire combustion heater was great for winter nights and plenty of firewood. Fresh eggs, bread and wine were included and welcomed. Nice bush walks and a great peaceful weekend getaway.

  • Such a lovely place to stay. All the little touches were lovely and the pictures don't do the view justice. We stayed over winter and found the fire toasty warm, but the bedroom did get a little cold overnight, nothing that couldn't be fixed with some woolens. Would definitely recommend!

  • We spent 2 night at the villa, all I can say is that it was perfect, the description was accurate, views amazing amazing and Eva was an amazing host- She responded to my emails, within 24 hours, and allowed my little 2 year old to stay free of cost- the beds were comfortable- and we could go again when we get a chance. Thanks Eva for making our trip so special Regards Louise

  • Eva is such a great host - right from the start I've received a comprehensive package outlining everything we needed to know. Her prompt and helpful replies to our questions meant that our family didn't have to worry and was well prepared for the trip. Our family Christmas holiday was a fantastic experience also because of the place - great views, clean and well equipped.
