  • Sandra and Dan were very welcoming, house is beautiful and tidy. Felt like home! Would love to come back!

  • Highly recommend

    Eoin2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Dan and Sandra were excellent hosts and catered to our every needs. They were very friendly and generous with their time and ensured that we were well looked during our stay. They are extremely knowledgeable about the town and provided a very helpful manual in the house. The house itself was warm and inviting and very well kept - exactly as it appeared in the photos with every essential amenity and more. In addition to this, it is perfectly located being right in the centre of the town with ample pubs, restaurants and shops nearby. I would highly recommend that anyone planning on visiting Ballina considers staying in Dan and Sandra's home.

  • Hi Enjoyed week end in Ballina, lovely property in great location hopefully will come again

    Michael2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience - Dan and Sandra and so accommodating and work hard to ensure you feel completely at home. The house is gorgeous- all the comforts of home and very well decorated. They have everything: washer, fridge, kitchen appliances, satellite TV and wifi - so much more than a hotel! The shower is very large with plenty of hot water. Plenty of outlets and space upstairs too. Location is excellent - close to everything. My only complaint was the noise from the street - you can hear cars and talking outside. As you are in town, you also have to pay for parking. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for more space and amenities than a hotel at a great rate!

    Kelly2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The property is very centrally located for shopping, bars and restaurants. The property is finished to a very high standard. Sandra and Dan were fantastic hosts, very friendly and informative.

    Emma2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a jewel of a place in the center of Ballina, walking distance to shops, pubs, the Jackie Clarke Collection -- a MUST-SEE -- public library, the River Moy. Dan and Sandra are phenomenal hosts and respond very quickly if there is a question. A lot of thoughtfulness went into this place!

My place is close to family-friendly activities, nightlife, public transport, and the airport. You’ll love my place because of the location. My place is good for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups.
  • Excellent house for friends to stay in. We were attending a wedding at Belleek castle, which is less than 10 mins drive away. Ballina is lovely and there are lots of nice pubs and places to eat. Helen is very friendly and was flexible about check-in and check-out times, this was very handy as we had flights booked and would have had to wait around with our luggage to kill time. Would recommend.

    Joely2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house was spotless when we arrived, everything was as on the photos and it well stocked with towels etc. The beds were extremely comfy and we really appreciated the electric blankets too. Helen was a great host, she went above and beyond as we left something in the property when we returned home and she made sure that we got it back which was much appreciated.

    Annie 2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable stay with everything we needed. Electric blankets a real treat! Thank you!

    Anne-Marie2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable accommodation for, in our case, 6 adults, 2 children and a baby. Heating was well up to keeping us cosily warm during our stay in February. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were very useful, and the kitchen supported full-scale cooking. Two electric showers, a bath, and an endless supply of towels were provided. Two minutes walk to the excellent Auld Shebeen for Guinness, music, and a warm welcome - a little further to the main street and plenty of other eating and drinking options. Helen, our hostess, was ever-helpful and quick to respond whenever we emailed; highly recommended rental.

    Andrew2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect option for 6-9 people

    Ben2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and Martin make some nice touches that made our stay so nice. The location could not have been better for us. We could walk to any thing we wanted to. A block from the river Moy. Washer and dryer was a huge plus for us. The entire house was very clean. The living room was super cosy. The price was also very good! We would stay again and have already recommended it to a relative.

  • Beautiful space within walking distance to everywhere in town Very clean and cosy, a real home away from home. The apartment is fabulous and has everything you could possibly need The host and her partner were lovely to deal with, very quick responses and really down to earth Breakfast was fabulous and check in times were flexible I’d definitely recommend Eliz and this apartment

    Kerri-Ann2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very central location with a stunning view over the River Moy and within a few minutes of good watering holes such as Ti Breathnach’s. Nice touches from the hosts such as a welcome back of food essentials and everything prepared so we could immediately light a fire. The house was spacious and very comfortable.

    Brendan2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and comfortable stay near to everything needed, a very home from home place with a lovely view over the river

    Karen2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is a beautiful space to spend time in and has the "wow" factor It is up to date, beautifully furnished, warm and very comfortable. The living room has a large picture window which looks out over the river Moy and has a stove with logs provided. The kitchen is well equipped. A welcome pack for breakfast was provided in the fridge. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. There was a good shower in the bathroom. The apartment was warm and spotlessly clean. It is close to the main streets of Ballina which is just across the river. I would definitely stay here again although there are exterior stairs up to the apartment and more inside to the bedrooms which may be offputting for some.

    June2017-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was very spacious and had anything we needed. Nice stove too. Lovely view onto river. Very close to everything. Will definitely come again

  • A wonderful place to stay. A perfect way to experience this beautiful little town/city of Ballina. The town is filled with little shops, great food, and pubs to fill whatever type of pint you’re looking for. And in those little shops, restaurants ,and pubs you’ll find most friendly people willing to share a story with you and are interested in hearing yours. Paul and Marie’s place is within short walking distance to the downtown, where you can find all that you need or are looking for. They have offstreet parking and a beautiful view of the River Moy. The town has plenty of cabs to take you wherever you want to venture,or when walking might prove to be difficult:). Ballina is perfectly located in the heart of County Mayo. I’ve seen most of Ireland ,but this town feels like home ,and it keeps pulling me back. The West is the best, and within a short drive of this beautiful town ,you’ll see so many wonderful and amazing places along the “Wild Atlantic Way”. Around every turn is a postcard! To truly experience Ireland, you must see the west. (But keep in mind ,while in Ballina you are only a 2 Hour drive or a quick train ride to Dublin) Enjoy and LIVE ALOT !

  • Marie and Paul's apartment is very clean, comfortable, has all the home comforts and is in an ideal location close to shops, restaurants and bars. Even with it's location so close to town the apartment is very quiet and we slept really well every night of our stay. We will definitely return.

    Cathy2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Marie & Paul's apartment is perfect for a stay in Ballina. The apartment is spacious, very well kept, and entirely convenient to all local shops and restaurants. Ballina itself is a really buzzy town, with lots of boutiques and good eateries. We had a lovely time in the apartment and really recommend it for a stay in Ballina.

    Mary2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a week with our son & his wife and their 18 month old son. Marie and Paul could not have been more helpful in making sure we all had everything we needed to make the stay really enjoyable. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and we felt at home straight away and throughout our stay. The location was good, convenient both for riverside walks and getting to the corner shop and for trips out of town in the car. We had a great week!

LESLEYS place in Ballina is a home away from home, deceivingly small from the outside, once you enter the front door you will be amazed by the large natural lighted modern living space , back patio and raised patio. The location is perfect for shopping pubs and dining, you can get to most places 5 min on foot,

  • Fantastic home which is very deceiving from the front and even the photos don't do it justice. Very modern with a great TV and channels available. The home was spotlessly clean and immaculately finished. We were more than impressed. We were greeted by Lesley's parents Tom and Mary who made us feel completely at home. We couldn't recommend this home highly enough.

    Joanna2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay, quiet and next to the river, from where it takes you about 10 min to the town centre on foot. And Gerry is a great host, he makes superb breakfast.

    Doris2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic host, and a wonderful guy! My father and I went to Ballina for geneology research, and Gerry has a strong interest in the topic! One thing I wrote in advance, was that my Dad and I wanted to hire someone for the day to drive us around, whether it be a taxi driver, or a friend/family member that could use extra cash. However, Gerry had the days off of work himself, and HE offered to drove us all around the 1 day for our geneology. And then, even drove us to the land, the Church, 2 cemetaries!!!!! Far exceeded my expectations, and Gerry made my Dad very happy to get to go and see where his dad grew up before emigrating.

    Michael2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent two nights in Gerry's home while in County Mayo visiting family history sites and meeting Irish relatives for the first time. The location was perfect - just couple of minutes from downtown, but on a quieter street with a beautiful view of the Moy River and the city. The room was very comfortable and clean and breakfast was delicious. Gerry treated us like valued friends and we enjoyed getting to know him. I highly recommend staying with Gerry if you are in the Ballina area!

    Irene2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Gerry is a very nice and friendly host. We really enjoyed our stay and the talkings with Gerry in the evening. He was very friendly and gave a lot of hints for activities. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was stunning. We had a great time in Ballina. It was the best B&B in town and we will definitely come back next year!

  • The Mews is a cosy, very quiet place just 5 minutes from Ballina town. Freshly baked scones awaited us on arrival as well as fresh fruit and a generously supplied fridge. Mary was on hand to welcome us and was very attentive to our needs. She was a wealth of information on where to go and what to do and made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. I'd highly recommend the Mews as a base for exploring the beautiful north Mayo area.

  • We had such a wonderful time in Ballina. First time using airbnb and The Geddes family made us feel very welcome! We got to spend some time chatting and felt very comfortable. It was a quick trip after lots of traveling and a long celebratory night, so Mrs. Geddes let us sleep and was a great host. Everything was as described and the bed was super comfortable. Hot shower and peaceful location close to town!! I definitely recommend this spot as it is affordable and lovely! Thanks again!

  • the listing in this property actually doesn't do it justice. this is a fantastic house to stay in. we were three women on a tai chi weekend and we chilled so much in this house - and the views...oh my god the views. to wake up each morning to the most amazing views, helped by the most amazing weather. jarlath left the keys for us in a local hotel and it was easy getting to the house and leaving the keys back. Both jarlath and the property come highly recommended.

  • A very clean and charming house. Modern and interesting. Breakfast room is relaxing. Ongoing work made entrance and driveway a bit messy when we visited. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. Waterbed in on suite bedroom. This is in a rural area and a car or bicycle is needed as bars and restaurants are distant. I loved the location but others might find it remote.

  • Our hosts were very flexible to our travel plans. I confirmed that we would be arriving late prior to making a booking and that wasn't a problem. They very kindly gave us a lift into Ballina and also offered a lift back home after the Mardi Gras parade. The room was very big, the bed extremely comfortable and we had a great chat at breakfast.

We have been renting self catering homes in the west of Ireland for 15 years but we have never had a host like Gina. Also many stone age ringforts and ogham standing stones. Beach 5
The space is a 2 bed apartment with own seperate entrance.Free parking for at least 4 vehicles Very quiet and tranquil.we have a friendly dog called gizmo and some hens around if you want fresh eggs for breakfast.we have lots of green veggies picked straight from the garden free of charge. We have a workshop if you would like to learn how to sculpt some stone or 5000 yearold bog oak.
The surrounding landscape is made up of rolling hills and lush grasslands with panoramic views of the ox mountains to the east and the wild atlantic ocean to the north.I love living here as its very quiet and peaceful and steeped in history with 14th century abbeys ,stone age ringforts, ogham standing stones and holy wells.
  • Lovely peaceful location, great base for travelling to all the historic sites near-by and Downpatrick Head is a definite must-see. Sean was really helpful and gave us great tips on where to visit. He also let us in on a demonstration on how to work with stone and bog oak, it was really interesting! We'll be back! :)

  • I have been driving about Ireland for a few days now and stopping in to stay at Sean's was one of the BEST experiences to date for me. The views of the land are absolutely incredible! There are animals all around and he has the friendliest neighbors. His dog Gizmo is absolutely amazing and the vegetable garden in the back is something to write home about. Sean's accommodations were extremely clean and very comfortable! I truly can't wait to get back there some day!

  • It was a great experience. Definitely will love to recommend more people to visit the place. Was clean and very hospitable host. Beautiful tour was given. Never would have heard about the sightseeing locations if you were not there. Gizmo was soooo friendly

  • We decided quite spontaneously to stay in Killala, so Sean was pretty easy with that and we could hike away in the appartement during a nasty storm. Fire was going already, so we could enjoy a cosy night - would definitely recommend this host!

  • Geraldine and Martin were wonderful hosts! They were the best stay we had in Ireland. Everything was clean as a whistle and comfortable. They kept us warm and cozy and breakfast always great. What a great location and view from their house. Enjoyed the conversations and personal attention but we had our personal space. Definitely recommended!

  • It has been fantastic. Geraldine gave us very good description in order to find their house. We have been welcomed very friendly. The room was like described, absolutely comfy and clean, the bathroom as well. The WiFi was very good. The breakfast was very good. It is a very good recommend. Thank you, it was very very nice. In case of a second return to Ireland, we will come back to her.

  • One of the best location i've ever been since i use airbnb, Geraldine, his husband and their dog toby are really kind and gives you explanation for whatever. We stayed for one night, each room was quiet, with bathroom, warm and very clean. But the best is yet to come. If you are soo lucky to find a sunny day, and it won't depends on geraldine, you will find a view you wont forget at all for the rest of your life, but maybe i love ireland too much. Best location if you are travelling to galway by car. I will remember you, thank you soo much for everything, all the best. Dave

A quite detached home in a Cul de Sac 10 minute walk to the town centre of Ballina, Europe premier salmon fishing river. Located along the Atlantic Way it is an ideal location to stop off and enjoy what the locality has to offer.
  • By far one of the best Airbnb experiences. I went for a run one morning and Brian was able to get one of the neighbor's dog for me to run with. Afterwards, I came home to a homemade smoothie. To top it off Brian, offered me a ride into town and even did my laundry. It was a full 5 star experience.

    janet2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean and cosy place. The bed was really comfortable too. Brian was kind enough to give us a lift to Ballina Castle on NYE and point out the sites and also made sure my vegan friend had something to eat for breakfast. Great stay, thanks!

  • Lovely modern clean house in a quiet location, within easy reach of Ballina. Brian is very welcoming and friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot, I will definitely stay there again

  • I had a lovely comfortable stay at Brian's cosy cul de sac property. The room was exactly as described. The house was beautiful and really clean and tidy. Brian was a friendly, chatty, attentive host. He gave me a lift in his car into town when I was going to order a taxi. He also dropped me off at the town centre to where I was being collected after i had checked out. He made sure I was taken care of and went the extra mile by making me a delicious breakfast with added honey for my sore throat. Great host and a lovely spot, only a short couple of minutes taxi ride from town.

  • The room was clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed. It was a pleasant walk in to town. Brian was welcoming and accommodating. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay.

Located in the bustling Town Centre of Ballina, 100m for the River Moy and world famous salmon fishing Ridge Pool. The Bond Store Cottage is tucked away under an archway, this olde worlde town house is truly delightful and full of character and charm.
Sleeps 8 guests - 4 Bedrooms Two Double Bedrooms Two Twin Bedrooms Two Bath The property emerged from a converted Victorian bond store and is over 100 years old. Radiating from a cobbled courtyard each property in this development is tastefully presented and blends timelessly from residential to commercial as town houses, restaurants and pubs all merge together beautifully. With its solid beams, winding staircase and attic rooms, this cosy terrace house is a wonderful base from which to explore the wonders of North Mayo and Enniscrone. A walk on the blue flag beach at Enniscrone, followed by a seaweed bath is truly invigorating, whilst a stroll into the town in the evening to enjoy the lively pubs and restaurants is a must. Facilities: Parking Central Heating Cable Television Washing Machine Dishwasher Microwave
Great location close to Restaraunts, lively pubs , shops , cafes and coffee shops. Restaraunt Choices Indian Thai Chinese Irish.
  • The host had some friendly local advice about the trip which I appreciated . As regards the house the beds and towels were clean . Apart from that the house needs renovation , was dirty and smelled pretty bad downstairs and on first floor . Handy place for a gang of lads who want a very central location in Ballina with a great pub close by .
