Just booked in Baldwin

Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River.
Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River. Peaceful and cozy craftsman style cabin in the woods overlooking the Pere Marquette river. Large windows on the riverside allow for a spectacular view of the river and lovely sunrises. The cabin has central AC and central heat, but there is NO TV or Internet/WiFi. The kitchen is well stocked with most cooking essentials. There is a tea kettle, various coffee pots, coffee bean grinder, dishes, pans, small refrigerator, and small functioning vintage stove. Freshly laundered bed linens, blankets and towels are provided. The town grocery store is conviently located less than a mile from the cabin. Both bedrooms have a full size mattresses. There is also a futon in the living room that could be used for additional guests. There is a 2 person tandem kayak, canoe and fishing poles are available at the cabin and are free for guest use. The burn ring by the river and a fire pit on the property that can be used for bonfires or roasting marshmallows. A door code enables guests to check themselves in after 3pm. We are available by text/email or phone during their stay if there any problems or questions. The cabin is located in Baldwin which is a small rural town that has very limited attractions or resturants, but makes for quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Cabin is located on Pere Marquette river which is a designated "National Wild and Scenic" river and is world renowned for excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout and Steelhead. The river section directly in front of the cabin is open for fishing only during the last weekend in April to end of September (trout season). It is also a very popular river for canoes and kayakers since it is steady and considerably clear which is perfect for paddlers with basic skills. The cabin is located about a 2 minute drive from the closest 'open all year round' river location. The cabin is 1.5 hour drive from Traverse City (Wine tasting, beaches, cherry orchards) and/or Grand Rapids MI (Art prize, Fredrick Meijer sculpture Gardens). It is also 45 Min. drive from Ludington which has miles of public beach on Lake Michigan. Pleae note there is a approx. 50 yard walk from the driveway to the cabin. Smoking inside the cabin is not allowed. Pets are ok with the following considerations: no wet dogs in the cabin (most dogs love swimming in the river), no pets on the furniture and up to date flea control is appreciated. The cabin is located 3.5 miles from the start of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail which is a excellent mountain biking and hiking trail.
The cabin is located in Lake County which is over half state (Pere Marquette State Forest) and federal land (Manistee National Forest) with endless hiking opportunities. The cabin is located very close to the North Country National Scenic Trail. There are multiple sections of the North Country trail that allow mountain biking and also the Big M trail is nearby. The cabin is located near the small town of Baldwin which has very limited attractions and no notable restaurants therefore this is not the place to come for man made sightseeing that is nearby.
  • Russ and Jade have created a beautiful getaway in Baldwin. The cabin is exquisite. Their attention to detail shines through each and every corner of the cabin. The floor to ceiling windows overlooking the river give you a glorious view of the sunrise each morning. You can choose between the beautiful kitchen or the riverside campfire to make your meals. Their thorough guidebook was helpful in finding the local grocery store – very close, with an impressive selection. The cabin is located in the middle of the woods with only one other home in sight. It's cozy and warm and the fall colors made late October the perfect time for a visit. The two-person kayak made for some fun daily adventures! I can't wait to return!

  • This place is phenomenal. My wife and I loved it. The house is very artfully crafted and tastefully decorated. The view overlooking the river is beautiful. In the mornings, the rising sun shines in the large windows, warming the little seating area nicely. My wife and I sat there or out on the little porch with our coffee watching the river glisten and the birds flitting around for hours each morning. We also really enjoyed building a little fire and having dinner down by the water. It was also a treat to open the windows and hear the water running as you lay in bed. You're close enough to the road to hear passing cars, but it's not a heavily trafficked road, so things are nice and quiet. You can kind of see another house through the trees from the back of the house, away from the river, but since we stayed on the river-side of the cabin, we felt completely alone. The beds were comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed, and everything worked well in the bathroom. The cabin is on the small side, which was perfectly cozy for just my wife and I, but could get crowded quickly. Russ and Jade had a short welcome note and a couple of cute little gifts waiting for us when we arrived. We were also blessed with perfect early fall weather. Overall, it was a wonderful stay at a well put together cabin in a beautiful location. There's a reason this cabin is booked solid so far in advance. I hope we can return many times in the future.

  • My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Russ and Jades cabin for a much needed dose of rest and relaxation, after planning a wedding and getting married. We had the most beautiful weekend, beginning with the delightfulness of entering a clean, cozy, rustic, and overall gorgeous cabin. The attention to detail and TLC within this cabin is easy to see, and soon became like a home away from home for us. We also brought our fur baby Sofie, which we were nervous about, but she did well off leash around the property, and hiked with us for two days (on leash) throughout the beautiful North Country Trails (3 minute drive to trail head). This was our first experience with Air BnB and we were a bit tentative at first, but will DEFINITELY be utilizing this site more often and also hope to visit the Pere Marquette Riverfront Cabin again next year! I already cannot wait to get back! We are very thankful for this experience, as it gave us a chance to step away from the hustled and bustled technology filled lives we live, and enjoy the simple things in life. Thank you to Russ and Jade for providing us with a beautiful cabin and view, and for being exceptional hosts through and through. We will gladly promote and provide reference for these wonderful people and this little gem that will forever be close to our hearts.

  • Russ and Jade's cabin on the river is incredibly idyllic, comfortable and artful. We spent a good part of our stay parked on the futon that overlooks the river, just watching the trout swim by. It is obvious that every detail of the cabin has been thoughtfully and lovingly considered. As hosts, Russ and Jade provided very clear directions and information in advance of our arrival. We hope to visit again soon!

  • Beautiful cabin! Nice relaxing long weekend. Plenty of time for reading by the river, some fishing and going for walks. The cabin has everything you need for a weekend in nature, unplugged. The kitchen has all the essentials and the vintage stove is cute and functional. The bed was comfortable and the linens were nice quality. Thank you Russ and Jade we will definitely come back!

  • I want to state this place was special. It was as welcoming as the images look. My wife and I had a wonderful time here and we're so thankful that Russ and jade were able to accommodate changes at the last minute. Dan

  • Russ and Jade have an amazingly stunning and well-kept cabin with an absolutely beautiful view. The space was extremely clean with great touches to make the experience complete. We enjoyed the back deck as well as falling asleep with the windows open to the sound of the river below. We felt truly isolated while still being able to access a grocery store and other activities nearby. A true gem and was the perfect escape from the city.

    Kathy2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Russ and Jade thank you for the very nice and cozy cabin. We had such a nice time with our friends as we celebrated the wives' birthdays. The woods and river setting makes this place a very peaceful experience. We really enjoyed seeing the Piliated Woodpeckers flying in and around the trees! We brought some food with us but really did not need to as Houseman's supermarket has everything you need for your daily food menus. We also enjoyed using the old stove. A unique experience and perfect for this cabin setting. We never needed the air conditioning. The cabin did get a little warm during the day but at night with all the windows open it cooled down beautifully. We did some fishing and went hiking at Bowman lake. Very nice 2.25 mile hike! It was a throughly enjoyable vacation! We highly recommend it to others!

  • Everything was perfect for a couple days of rest in an amazing scenic cabin. Highly recommended

  • Preston's cabin is a nice secluded retreat. My friends and I were in the area for a mountain bike race, and the cabin was a great place to relax before and after the race. The outdoor space was really nice. One thing some guests may want to be aware of: Preston has two cats, so people with cat allergies may want to take that into consideration.

    Dustin2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed staying a week at Preston's house. It was quite and peaceful. Great opportunity to refresh and enjoy outdoors with near by national forest, river, and other recreational options for day trips. Also had a lot of fun with the outdoor kitchen! Preston's home is as advertised.

    Jacob2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Preston was an excellent communicator, he left detailed instructions upon our arrival. His home was furnished with everything we needed. The National Park was only a 15 minute drive from his home, which gave us the opportunity to take a day hike. The river that flows a few feet from his home was peaceful and my kids skipped rocks as we sat by the fire. His two cats were a little nervous, but they warmed up to us after a few hours. If you are looking for a place that feels like a home away from home that you can enjoy the beauty of nature, this is the perfect choice.

    Lori2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • A terrific property and fabulous environment on the river. Exactly as advertised.

    John2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you want great views along with quite time this is the place. I would say the outdoor cooking area is worth the trip

  • Beautiful place!! This was my first stay with airbnb and Preston by far set the bar hire for future hosts! Loved everything about our stay. Preston was great about answering all of my annoying questions! We had 3 children with us (6, 7, & 8) but would love to visit again for just a couples get away.

    Christy2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great, peaceful spot on the river. We spent most of our time by the outdoor/campfire space (when not on the river). A wonderful place to enjoy a fall weekend in Michigan.

We are located on the Baldwin Creek River. Our Lodge is only 1/2 mile from downtown Baldwin. The main floor has 2 bedrooms with Queen beds, 2 bathrooms, living & dining room and kitchen. Upstairs, there are 2 more bedrooms. One with a queen bed and one with 2 twin beds. There is a small bathroom, sitting area with a futon bed, and another sitting area with a desk. The lodge has all been remodeled except the kitchen. We are planning on doing updates to it very soon.
This is a great place to bring the family or just for a couple to enjoy a large space. We have access to the ORV/Snowmobile trails from our property. The deck is nice to enjoy the view of the river and kick back and relax.
We are just minutes from world class year round fishing, hunting, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, ATV/ORV trails, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, golfing and dog sledding. There are also many great restaurants and shops a short drive from our place. We have picnic tables, grills and fire pits throughout the property for guests to enjoy as well as a horseshoe pit and fish cleaning station. We have a walking and snowmobile access trail allowing guests to ride right from the lodge.
  • Mike was an awesome host along with the other staff. Property is a little over grown by the deck on the lodge and the stairs down to the river need a little improving but, other then that the place is great!!! The lodge that we stayed in was fantastic and very clean! Ton's of room eating and socializing. The bedrooms are nice with REALLY COMFORTABLE CLEAN BEDS!!! Both of the bathrooms down stairs are very nice but, the one upstairs is more for kids or smaller people. The Kitchen needs some work but, all the appliances look newer and work great. It was nice that they had a Keurig and a drip coffee maker. Overall I would definitely recommend Baldwin Creek Lodge to friends, family and anyone!! Thanks, Bear

  • What a Terrible experience, Run from this place. The host/owner was very rude and out of control. I had family come in from multiple states to meet up and have a family / fishing experience . It was planned for months and we had the most terrible experience ever. After unpacking and getting settling in to the cabin that we rented the owner came to visit with us to discuss the next day fishing trip we booked through him. His staff originally booked our fishing trip for 2 to 3 people and a guide. We were quoted $425 for 2 and $100 more for an additional fisherman. So the owner came over and was upset because we wanted to take 3 fisherman, his guide said that he refused to take 3 and would only take 2. After we all discussed this We decided this it wasn't going to work if only 2 could go with the guide. So we advised the owner we wanted to cancel guide trip because it wasn't going to work. Well this upset him so much that he became outraged and began yelling swearing and demanding us to pack our stuff up immediately leave the property. It got so bad that we had to call the police because we were in fear the he was going to do more then just yelling and screaming. We got out of there and was glad to see the police come and watch over the crazy owner. Do yourself a favor and do not deal with Baldwin Creek Lodge or any cabins he's associated with. We moved a few miles to Red Moose Lodge, where they put us up in a cabin And took care of us. They have cabins near the river and great accommodations.

    4 reviews
Rustic and very functional (not fashionable) cabin located very close to the Pere Marquette River and the Manistee National Forest for superb hunting, fishing, and ORV riding. Some light remodeling is in progress (replaced wall with header) but if you can stand to see a few unfinished spots I think you’ll find my place a great spot to stage your next outdoor adventure. North Lake with dock across the street (Pere Marquette River access through a very narrow and shallow channel on lake).

This rustic 3 bedroom cabin is nestled on the banks of the historic Pere Marquette "National Scenic River", offering direct access to amazing trout fishing in crystal clear water with a spectacular view of the river from the cabin. It is one of cluster of cabins on the flies only zone of the PM river. I have two cabins on the 1/2 acre property.
This is a special place on the banks of the Pere Marquette River! This is one of two cabins on the property. This rustic cabin has an eat in kitchen with all the cooking supplies. It has two bedrooms on the first floor. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other with 2 twins. Up the winding stair, is a loft with 2 double beds. One bath on the first floor. It has air conditioning if it gets hot in the summer. The cottage has a nice sized screened in porch that faces the river from an overlooking bluff 50 feet from the water to relax and gaze on the water and listen to the water flow. If you like to sit around the camp fire, we have a fire ring between the two cabins for camp fires to hangout and enjoy the Northern Michigan forest. We close down from about Thanksgiving until April so winter lodging is not available.
Local fishing of course is available with great fishing guides locally, as well as hunting and hiking in the Manistee National Forest. Lake Michigan is only 35 miles away if you want to make an excursion to the beach. Baldwin is 3 miles away with a variety of restaurants for easy dining.
  • Matthew's cabin is perfectly situated on the river. It sits on a beautiful perch where you can sip coffee and watch the fish swim below. Rustic pine interior and privacy were all very much welcomed. I'd recommend this cabin to all, just not when Im there. 5 stars out of 5!

    Gabe2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's house is amazing, nice view, despite it's pretty hard to find it when you lose the daylight. we wish we could stay couple more nights. Anyway, def would stay there again next time.

  • My friends and I had a great time at the Lumberjack Cabin! It's a very beautiful, recently renovated cabin with a calming view of the river that puts you at ease with the nature around you. Matthew was very helpful leading up to our stay and provided details on restaurants / stores near the cabin as well. I would definitely recommend a stay at Matthew's cabins.

  • Tyra's place is incredibly beautiful. It is perfect for anyone coming up and intending on going to the sand dunes and enjoying the northern Michigan weather. And I can only imagine how beautiful this house will be in the winter!!!! You really don't need a thing because she had the place immaculate and well stocked from the kitchen to then bathroom to the bedroom. I definitely can't wait to go up north and I won't stay anywhere other than here. It was quiet and private yet only three miles to the town. And dune trails everywhere. CHECK IT OUT. • Good property on the banks of the Idlewild lake. You would enjoy the huge deck and lake view. Location is off the main road and make sure you go in day light for the first time (the GPS provided turns weren't accurate). The water running in the taps is colored/odored and didn't suit to drink. The basic appliances are provided and the host Shanaya was quick to respond to your needs.

  • We had a great time staying at the Big Star Lake cottage. Shawn was a very gracious host with great communication and we were fortunate to meet him and his family. The cabin is central to lots a great outdoor activities and is a peaceful, secluded spot to wind down after the day's activities. Nice fire pit in the front yard and a charcoal grill in the back. We had no cell or internet access, (good or bad depending on your perspective). Overall, we were very pleased with our choice and would def go back!

    Craig2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is great! It's warm. I got everything I want in the house. It's the same as pictures shown. Had great time in the national forest with my friends!

    宇侨2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn's place is very clean and spacious. My girlfriend and I both really liked the style of the interior. We liked how the wood paneling and tree trunk beams/railings gave it a good cabin/up north feel and the exposed air ducts added an industrial style that was very unique and complimented the house well. The house is well off the beaten path and the area is very quiet and relaxing. However, the house isn't very far from town so it wasn't a hassle when we wanted to grab a bite to eat. This was a great first-time Airbnb experience. Shawn responded quickly and was accommodating to our questions and concerns about a late check-in. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful weekend getaway.

Saved money by cooking in the large kitchen. Sounds crazy but loved NOT having WIFI...chose to use the top of our storage bin to sled down the back hill....Thanks Shawn

  • Shawn was awesome! He made the whole experience very easy. Had a few issues with booking, accidentally booked the wrong cabin and he helped us switch to the right place. Great at communication and the home was great. Very clean and everything went smooth. I would definitely recommend staying at any of Shawn's cabins. :)

    David2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • It's a clean modern cabin with a great view of a lake, and an easy distance to lots of fun things and to a grocery store. Well equipt kitchen and a nice bathroom, though no phone signal in or around the house (though that's not necessarily bad!). We rented canoes with a local company on the Pere Marquette and loved it.

  • The space and accommodations were great. We loved the scenery, and the peaceful atmosphere. The AC could have been stronger, and the washing machine left a weird orange stain on our whites after using bleach. Other than these two issues we were very happy with our time at the cabin.

  • This cabin is even more beautiful than the pictures. The whole log construction is just something you have to see and you will love it. This was an ice fishing trip and there was plenty of room for the whole group. It's too easy to walk down to be lake with tons of deck space and a SWEET Tiki Bar. I bet this is paradise in the Summer. Mindy was great to work with. Highly recommend!

  • We had a wonderful girls weekend as a gift for my birthday from my husband. The cabin was absolutely stunning! It was very beautiful and relaxing. We had everything we needed right there thanks to Mindy! She also left some very welcoming treats for us! I would recommend this place to anyone! It was also a lot bigger than expected! Thank you so much for your hospitality! ~Kaidi Pennybacker~

  • Thanks for everything! Was fabulous!

    Shelby2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Log cabin was cute. Lake and boats were a big hit with the kids. Mindy was very helpful with everything except one. We loved the outdoor wildlife. The indoor wildlife kept it from being the perfect vacation. We had rodents running across our legs in bed after lights out. We asked for a remedy but the host refused to offer any. Rose exterminators had two large glue traps and one box of Decon on the first floor. Nothing on the second floor. Not an adequate response to the degree of infestation.

    Robert2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Myndi was helpful and very responsive! The pictures do not do this place Justice. Very beautiful!

    Tracy2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved having the water right there! The cabin was very clean, spacious enough for our entire family, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenic views!!

    Jessica2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This location is quiet but accessible. The view of the lake is spectacular! Our grandkids spent hours on the private beach, wading, splashing, and turtle watching. We appreciated that things were clean and comfortable. We are nearly all of our meals outdoors so we could enjoy the views and watch for wildlife. Flying squirrels at dusk were a highlight!

    Sam2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mindy's place is awesome, we had plenty of room, the beds were comfy. It was supplied with all the necessities. They have the cutest Tiki bar and sitting area overlooking the lake. Lots of wildlife, friendly area, you definitely need to check it out.

  • We had an amazing 4 days at Reed Lake! Although we had rain on our first day, there were games to enjoy, a great kitchen for cooking together in, and a beautiful view of the lake from the sunroom. We spent the rest of our stay swimming and floating in the lake (the water is clean, clear, and beautiful!), birdwatching, napping in hammocks, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit, and watching the sunset on the lower deck. We were a bit worried about fitting 4 days worth of food for 9 people in the refrigerator, but it was huge and almost entirely empty (except for condiments), so that was a lifesaver! There were plenty of comfy couches for all of us to lounge on, and plenty of spaces for us all to sleep. If you go, highly recommend getting up early to enjoy a cup of coffee, a good book, the birdsong, and the stillness of the lake. It was a fun and relaxing getaway for this group of graduate students! After one day, we were already talking about how we want to come back next summer...

  • This cottage is perfect for a large family. The view is amazing, the quiet and peacefulness is serene. The 90 steps to get down to the water is great exercise. The home is well-equipped, if you forget something it's probably already there. The grocery store is about 10 minutes away. Would highly recommend a kayak trip down the Pere Marquette through Baldwin Canoe Rental. Enjoy!!

    Melanie2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely long weekend at this gorgeous cottage. Tracy is prepared for everything you might want to relax. The back porch is a dream with a great view of the lake as well as the perfect couches to enjoy it with. We played Scrabble, sat in chairs and floated in the smooth water, slept in, hiked, and boated on nearby Big Star Lake. We enjoyed our weekend immensely!!!

  • We loved our stay at the Lake hideaway! The house was clean and decorated nicely. Perfect place to enjoy the lake and have quiet family time. The host made us feel welcome!

    Jennifer2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • From the very outset, Tracy was fabulous--responsive, approachable, friendly. she even left us a welcome package! The house is great, with lots of sunlight streaming in. Very chill vibe, overlooking a lovely lake. We did a ton of swimming, explored the area by kayak (the nearby Pere Marquette is spectacular), and bike, and loved watching and listening to the loons and eagles on the lake. So peaceful! Thanks for sharing it with us, Tracy!

    KimandWendy2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great place for a family vacation. Everything was awesome - super clean, easy check in/out, and the lake was perfect! 10/10 would recommend for a getaway. Thanks Tracy!!!

    Sarah2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our families first time renting a lake house and it could not have been a better experience! We had two toddlers with us and there were so many fun things for them to do inside and outside of the hone from playing break the ice 1,000 times to walking down to the little private beach to build sand castles. Tracy was the best host and literally answered all of my messages within minutes. The home was clean and comfortable and everyone had their own space but yet we were able to all hang out together too! The dock was perfect for fishing or just sitting around in the boat when we weren't using it. Our 2 year old son caught his first fish there so we will forever remember our first trip! I couldn't say enough good things about the whole experience.

Welcome! Our cottage has been family owned since 1962. Lovingly cared for, the cottage has been a gathering place for family and friends for the past 54 years. The lakefront cottage overlooks 912 acre Big Star Lake in Lake County near Baldwin, MI. Conveniently located near Ludington and Traverse City, unlimited activities await. Come fish, boat, ski, tube, kayak or sail. Trout fishing on the river, four-wheeling and hiking are also close by. Stay for a day or a week. We know you will love it.
  • We absolutely loved this place! We had everything we needed right there, from drinking water to lawn chairs to all the different cups that were in the cupboard. The accessibility of the whole place was heartwarming and very comfortable. Had the weather cooperated we would have made great use of the kayaks and paddle boat but maybe next time. Overall it was a great experience. Way better then a hotel. The privacy of having the whole place was priceless.

    jason2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location on the lake with sandy beach, kayaks, paddle boat, raft to swim to and great place to have a campfire on the lake at night. Very enjoyable.

    Gordon2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing, the house was cozy and it was spacious for all of us to spread out a bit. We would totally stay here again.

    Jami 2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cabin with everything we needed and then some...plenty of things for the kids to do on the beach(with nice clean water) and so much space in the house if the weather is bad, plus Netflix was a plus for a bedtime movie for them. Super clean and we'll kept, we can't wait to plan our next trip here!

    Katie2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Mike have a very spacious lake house right on the water with a very nice, clear, sandy beach. It looks out over the water with gorgeous sunsets. Cell phone coverage is spotty in the vicinity but their wifi fixes that problem once you get settled in. As Chris says, the water is drinkable but it tastes heavily of minerals, so you'll need a case or two of bottled water for drinking and cooking. Chris is very quick to respond to questions and she is extremely helpful. You'll enjoy your stay.

Our place is on Wolf Lake with great views, family-friendly activities, the beach, federal land, trails, rivers, fishing. You’ll love our place because of the all sports lake, the outdoors space, the dock, the spacious interior. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
Lots of space inside and out. Great place to unwind. Take our kayaks out for a paddle or just sit on the dock and soak it all in!
  • Very quiet area with friendly neighbors. The beautiful lake was crystal clear. House was spacious and very clean. Kayaks on the property were a bonus.

  • Todds lake house/cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway. Not only was the location situated on beautiful wolf lake, the house itself was clean, organized, and equipped with more than we needed to have an amazing vacation. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a great time on the lake! Todd was more than accommodating and always responded through the air bnb app within minutes whenever we had questions

  • We had a wonderful time here at this cottage!! Even more specious than we thought, so clean, and the beach was lovely! Perfect for the toddlers! We will be coming back again :)

  • Todd's place was amazing. Great, sandy, shallow lake, quiet, clean, warm lake with gorgeous sunsets! The cottage was like being at home. It had anything and everything you could possibly need or want. Two showers and multiple bedrooms was nice. The beds were big and comfy and the bedding was clean and soft. The kayaks were a great bonus. We really don't have anything negative to say about the cottage at Wolf Lake. It was large, clean, well kept, and even though it is updated and "house-like" it still has that cottage feel to it. We highly recommend it!

This is a 2 bedroom cabin that is newly remolded that sits on the banks of the Baldwin Creek River. There is a very nice deck that is great for grilling out or just to sit and relax and enjoy the view of the river. The campfire pit is also another great gathering spot to enjoy. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and toaster. All bedding and towels are provided. Cable TV and WIFI are available. This cabin has it's own private driveway, and it is located close to the highway.
Local Fishing is available with great fishing guides, as well as hunting and hiking in the Manistee National Forest, or a canoe trip down the famous ere Marquette river. Baldwin is 1/4 mile from the cabin with a variety of restaurants for dining, and many small shops to check out. If you choose to venture out, Ludington with access to Lake Michigan is only a 40 minute drive.
  • Cozy cabin on the river was just as advertised, cozy with a perfect view of the Baldwin river. The cabin is clean and up to date. With a central meeting point in the cabin that over looks the river, people can have a nice meal and watch the scenery. Mike is accommodating, patient and helping. Thank you Mike for your help, I highly recommend your cabins and services.

  • We stayed one night with 6 adults and one baby. Cabin was clean enough for a baby to play around and all the facilities were very conveniently located for us to use. Small river in the back, gas barbecue grill, and a small campfire area totally made our stay. Cabin was totally independent and no one bothered us during the stay. I would definitely go back again if I get a chance.

    Young2015-07-01T00:00:00Z

  • A great cabin on a lake in a nice little town where everyone is very friendly. An easy short drive to gas stations, grocery store, restaurants and a couple bars in town. The Cabin is pet friendly with a nice little back porch and easy to use grill for cooking out. The place has everything including cable tv if the weather isnt that great out. The Baldwin area seems to be in the middle of Nordhouse dunes, Traverse City, Sleeping bear dunes, grand rapids and Kalamazoo and days trips could be 1/2 hours away if you wanna explore more of Michigan. My host was super easy to get a hold of and responded to my messages sometimes within minutes and no longer than a hour.

    Michael2015-08-01T00:00:00Z

    Ty2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a get away weekend. Very secluded from other houses, can hear road noise but nothing terrible. Defiantly will be coming back! Make sure you bring outdoor chairs with you.

    Kyle2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn was super helpful and responsive leading up to our stay. The house is lovely and very clean. We were six adults and had a very relaxing time enjoying the fire pit and grill. There was plenty of room inside and out so that we weren't on top of each other. The North Country Trail is nearby and we spent a day checking that out. The restaurants nearby were good. While it is definitely secluded, there is a fair amount of road noise from M37, possibly because of the holiday weekend and it quieted down at night. It wasn't a problem for us, but just wanted to mention it in case folks think secluded = totally silent. It's still very peaceful though. From past nearby travels, my mom was worried about the taste of the water. No worries. It tastes great! We had a marvelous stay. Thank you Shawn!

    Laura2015-07-06T00:00:00Z

    Jason2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cabin in the woods. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything you could need. Very close to ORV trails and lakes (host provided maps of the area). The fire pit was an excellent place to end the day.

    Jenn2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible time! The cabin was Exactly as described and Shawn was a superb host! The cabin was totally secluded and that's exactly what we wanted. One of the cleanest and neatest cabins i have ever been to! When he says it's practically new, he is not kidding. Beautiful little fire pit and tons of wood around to keep it warm all night. Canoe and kayak rentals are just down the road and the pine river was so much fun to travel down. We're looking forward to making this an annual event!

  • This was the perfect stop for us on our road trip. We booked the day of and the communication and direction were spot on. We would highly recommend this KOA. Everyone was friendly and the place was spotless!

  • We just needed a place to sleep within easy access to the ferry and this was just the thing. The cabin was clean and had electricity (fan, light, outlet). Mattresses were just okay, but that was expected, as was the walk to the bathroom facilities, which were normal campground quality and clean. Looks like it would be a good place for families (with pool and what seemed to be small petting animal enclosure).

  • This KOA is amazing! Such a beautifully maintained place with a little bit of everything: animals on the little farm, disc golf basket, pool, playgrounds, basketball hoop,.. and a very nice staff! The cabin is spacious, clean and very cozy in a beautiful forest. (we stayed here in fall, so colorful!) With the other couple of cabins nearby, it felt like a tiny beautiful forest village but still you do have complete privacy without feeling "disturbed" by the other campers. We would definitely come stay here again!

  • This is by far the best campground we have ever stayed at. There is so much to do, and very kid friendly too! The pool was clean, the campsite was spacious, our cabin was just right for the 3 of us. Very secluded. Definitely bug free, we had a small swamp a few feet behind our site and no mosquito bites.

  • A nice little serene cabin that is well kept. The hosts are wonderful.

  • I visited the first week of October and the area was absolutely beautiful with fall colors. The location is perfect for someone wanting to get away and enjoy nature.

  • This is a very beautiful, natural and secluded campground with lots of activities for families and children. Super clean and nice!

  • We had a wonderful stay at KOA. The cabins are incredibly nice and the owners made us feel welcome right away.I would recommend this place to anyone.

  • Where to begin.......Our family does a lot of "Mini Cabin Camping" and this was by far the best one we've stayed in! It is newly built and super clean! It was so convenient to have a bathroom inside the cabin with plenty of hot water for showers. The pictures do not do this place justice. The host was easy to contact via email and was very accommodating with late checkout so that we could stay a bit longer to enjoy the beautiful pool ( which we had all to ourselves for the majority of the time). The campground had plenty of things to keep my two boys (16 & 9) entertained....basketball court, volleyball, cornhole, ladderball, petting farm, bounce house, playground. We will definitely be back next summer!!

  • I don't have experience with camp grounds, but it was actually nicer than I expected.... They have a really nice pool area and it was a nice and relaxing trip.

    Rebecca2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place for an out-of-towner. Easy access to Baldwin, Pere Marquette and lots of nature. Really dig all of the bunnies on the property.

    Tom2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with another couple and their 2 year old and it was the perfect fit. Spacious, kid-friendly and peaceful, this cabin and campground are located a short distance from Ludington. Very clean and well stocked. Staff very attentive. Will definitely come back!

    Crystal2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • While describing this unit as deluxe is a stretch, it does have plenty of space, several beds and cots, pullout couch and recliners, separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a bathroom. So considering you are in the woods of Michigan I guess it could be considered deluxe. It was nice to come back from a long day of fishing, take a shower, and relax. Having a goat, turkeys, and chickens roaming around so close to the place is sort of strange but the kids from other families that were there seemed to enjoy it. All in all, it was a nice stay and we would stay there again.

    Drew2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • It's a very nice place almost in the middle of the forest. The hosts aren't there all the time, but quite a lot, they were able to help us with everything we needed.

    Igor2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • It is right on the KOA camp grounds. The staff was nice. We arrived late at night and they left the key out for us.

    Zack2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great camping. Very comfortable. Bring your own Pots and stove. We had a great time with our 3 kids. Very pleasant staff.

    Prakriti2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • House was very clean, beds were cozy and comfortable. We didn't use the cots but they looked great. The bathroom was clean and modern. I loved the farm and garden right nearby. We ate eggs right from the farm every day. Wireless internet speed was adequate. We made a fire in the firepit just outside in the front, my son loved that.

  • We loved it! About 20 minutes outside of Ludinton made for a super pleasant night. Checking in late was not a problem and the girls that checked us out were super friendly and made sure we had a nice time. Bring sleeping bags/blankets and a pillow. They have approved fire wood on site.

    Mekkel2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The campground is great and is definitely set up for families. I expected a little more glamour and a little less camping. They were great in accommodating our last minute late arrival and were met at the office for our check in instructions. When we arrived to the tent the light was on which was nice, but the tent was full of bugs and we had no bug spray as we didn't expect to be camping that night. We were also not made aware that linens (bedding) were not included until a few minutes prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, we were already in the middle of our trip so we didn't have any blankets with us and we only had one pillow. We were able to rent 2 sleeping bags for them for $5/bag, that was an additional expense we weren't expecting. Overall, we would return for camping but not for glamping.

    LuAnn2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The site was perfect. The tent is already up and a bed already in it. We didn't come in to town until about 2am and the front desk had left us everything we needed on the map by the office. Everyone who worked there was extremely accommodating and helpful! We can't wait to go back again to check out the nature trail and river!

    Meghan2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was just as posted. One review said there was an issue with bugs, we didn't have any. We took spray and never needed to use it. Both nights we stays I rained hard, the tent never leaked. The tent is on a platform, it ties closed inside and out. The bed itself wasn't bad, not uncomfortable. We layered linens, nice things is, it seem as humid as a vinyl or plastic tent would be, so that was nice esp b/c is stormed and could have been very hot and sticky. Bathrooms were close and clean enough. Pool is brand new and nice. Animals around the farm friendly- we did have one cat sneak in to wake us one morning. Staff was friendly. I mean overall a good experience. Not dissatisfied one bit.

    Amber2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We truely enjoyed our stay. It was a new experience with the glamping. We also frequented the small farm on the property. The staff was very polite and helpful.

    Alyshia2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for the family! Would stay here again! Wood been in tent 42A isn't made for larger people, we put the mattress on the floor and it worked out great! Pool is awesome! Showers are hit or miss, facilities are good. Love the location, in the middle of the woods yet close to Ludington and lots to do!

    Megan2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location right in the front of the campground. The host gave us detailed check in information and the campsite is gorgeous. Made a fire in the ring after purchasing approved firewood. The restroom & facilities are close to the campsite. Glamping is fun with a lamp + cushy bed. (Electrical outlets as well) get out there & enjoy #puremichigan #koacamping We will be back!

    Domonique2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a great experience, way more like camping than we anticipated, but it definitely delivered! A starry night, a quiet place, and a lot of nature. We arrived late at night and someone was expecting us, gave us clear instructions and made us feel welcomed. I would definitely stay at this place again!

  • Stayed in Cabin 2. Exactly as described and exactly what we were looking for. Simple and quiet, but there were also people around if you wanted to socialize. The pool is beautiful, restroom and showers clean, and the grounds are well-kept. Loved seeing the animals!

  • Nice and quiet in April. Close to North Country Trail and pretty Pere Marquette river.

  • This KOA is amazing! Such a beautifully maintained place with a little bit of everything: animals on the little farm, disc golf basket, pool, playgrounds, basketball hoop,.. and a very nice staff! The RV is spacious, clean and very well-equipped, inside and outside. We would definitely come stay here again, in fact, we even extended our 1st stay right away! :) Can highly recommend!
