Leslie and Wade were great hosts; the room was nicely furnished
John2017-05-09T00:00:00ZLeslie and Wade were great hosts, communication was quick and they were available for us if we needed them in the check in process. The room and bathroom were good for two guests to sleep in a queen together. If you're looking for a lot of space to hang out, Asheville town/city is the place..not much room at the actual house. The driveway is steep, if you have a fear of tight spaces, watch out! I would definitely stay here again as I don't mind these very minor things, but some might, so I thought I'd share. Leslie and Wade had an awesome homemade zucchini bread, eggs, toast, and coffee for us the next morning as promised! The house has a feel like you are up in a treehouse, another cool feature!
Nerea2017-04-30T00:00:00ZHad an awesome stay! Good communication. House is real swanky and 10-15 mins from downtown Asheville. Enjoyed our stay and the town :) Thanks!
Katherine2017-04-16T00:00:00ZLoved the stay.
Teja2017-04-09T00:00:00ZStaying at Leslie's is truly like perching in a treehouse. Creatively nestled against a hill, its minimalist architectural design is beautiful and calming, especially when contemplating the green environment with trees blooming. Inside, everything that meets the eye is intriguing. The shared central floor is cozy. The bedroom I stayed in (queen bed) looked out directly onto the woods and was divine. Extremely comfortable bed with great choices of linens, comforter, pillows, decor overall. Sparkling clean. Breakfast of organic hard-cooked eggs, homemade bread, and superb coffee made for a great start to the day. And Leslie and husband Wade could not be more cordial. Terrific, timely, precise communications. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
Kathy2017-04-08T00:00:00ZCozy, clean, and altogether beautiful home with lovely hosts
Christopher2017-04-02T00:00:00ZLeslie and wade were great hosts! Super convenient to downtown Asheville. Leslie makes some delicious zucchini bread! Yum!
Goldie 2017-03-26T00:00:00ZRead the notes carefully. I thought it was very small. With all the extra charges I rented it in the end for 130 which was as much as a hotel and a hotel is a lot better with more privacy. It was not very intimate. Maybe if you can rent the whole house it would be good. I guess I'm just uncomfortable vacationing with a lot of people around me but I would have canceled but that would be another amount of money to book and arrange something else.

We thoroughly enjoyed this quiet retreat. Norma and Jim were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home in a lovely setting. I only wish our trip were longer. Breakfast was delicious, and the conversation delightful. We had a peaceful night sleep in a serene, comfortable surroundings. Thank you, Norma and Jim! I hope we can return someday!
Kimberly2017-05-14T00:00:00ZNorma, Jim, and Casper provided a welcoming and relaxing place during my recent stay. The breakfasts were wonderful and very much appreciated as my mornings were early. Despite being there for business I was able to recharge in my beautiful, airy room with an adjacent solarium filled with lovely plants and fountains. Definitely wholeheartedly recommend and wish I had a reason to return. : )
Laura2017-05-12T00:00:00ZWe absolutely loved our stay at Norma's place. Very large & airy room with the world's most comfortable bed, artwork, and a beautiful solarium adjoining. Nice bathroom with a large shower. Though we shared the same house, the separate entrance and positioning of our rooms felt very private. And the healthy breakfasts with our kind hosts won't soon be forgotten, it really was a pleasure to converse with them. The advice they shared regarding great hikes and restaurants was spot on. Highly recommend!
Sandra2017-05-05T00:00:00ZStaying at the Zen Garden room was a special treat. Norma and Jim are warm and gracious hosts. The room itself was beautiful and superbly restful. My wife Julie and I loved looking at the great tree just outside our window and the zen garden that adjoined our room. We would be happy to spend more time there.
David2017-04-21T00:00:00ZNorma and Jim provided a very comfortable, safe, and home-like setting for our stay in Asheville, NC. It was clean and had everything we needed for a visit. The location was perfect and a short drive from many of the sights we wanted to tour. They were both very helpful in giving us suggestions too. Each morning they provided us with a healthy breakfast. I would highly recommend staying at this location if I was visited the Asheville area again.
Amanda2017-04-16T00:00:00ZGreat hosts and stay. Highly recommended.
Terry2017-04-12T00:00:00ZHad a great stay with Norma and Jim. They're friendly and helpful and really make you feel at home. The space is clean, comfortable and quiet. I didn't have much time to enjoy the lovely solarium but it's one of many nice touches. The location is also close to downtown Asheville, which worked great for me. Highly recommend!
Janet2017-04-09T00:00:00ZWe stayed with Jim and Norma for 4 days in March and we were so unbelievably pleased with the whole experience! First of all the room and the solarium are just stunningly gorgeous and a welcome site after running around Asheville all day. We had complete privacy, a super clean room and bathroom, and the breakfast was always delicious along with the sharing of stories with Jim and Norma over some coffee, and lots of laughs. We felt so well taken care of...they really went above and beyond what was necessary without imposing on our private space. This place will be our go to next time we are in town...Thank you so much Norma and Jim!!!!!

A stunning view, a warm welcome, lovely and comfortable accommodations and great art. This is a terrific place to have a mountain experience and still be close to town!
Amy2017-05-14T00:00:00ZVery beautiful house. Renee was very quick to respond to any request.
Warren2017-05-01T00:00:00ZThe host canceled this reservation 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Matthew2017-04-30T00:00:00ZA true mountain getaway. Romantic, secluded, perfectly lovely. Highly recommend!
Jessie2017-04-24T00:00:00Zperfect secluded location with beautiful view but a short drive to downtown Asheville. The place was clean, spacious, and comfortable with nice private entrance. Dog friendly! Would definitely stay again during my next visit to Asheville.
Collin2017-04-16T00:00:00ZThis airbnb was very secluded but still just an Uber away from downtown Asheville and convenient drive to hiking trails. We loved having a beautiful yard right outside and our own private entrance and parking spot. Renee was really great about accommodating our timing and we loved that this is a dog friendly property!
Danielle2017-04-09T00:00:00ZRenee was a wonderful host. The apartment was perfect for our needs and we were so happy we were able to bring our dog. Renee left us bagels for breakfast and some treat for the dog which made us all feel warm and welcomed. The place is just secluded enough to feel like you are getting a mountain getaway, but close enough to downtown that you can get an Uber ride for less than $15. We would be happy to stay here the next time we are in the area!
Danielle2017-03-28T00:00:00ZWe would definitely consider staying with Renee again if we find ourselves in Asheville. She was a fantastic and accommodating host by providing snacks, having a working fire-pit, being a dog friendly location for our two pups ( who made friends with her pup as well!). The location was scenic and peaceful, but a bit off the beaten path. Very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway (which we loved) but about 20-25 minutes away from Downtown and the Biltmore estates.

My girlfriend and I traveled traveled with our pup to Asheville this past weekend and had the pleasure of staying at James's place. The location was everything we'd hoped for. It was quiet and secluded, but a close and central drive to great hiking at Blue Ridge and Looking Glass to name a few. It was also just a quick drive/uber to downtown Asheville. James had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean, and we had plenty of pillows, blankets and towels to use. The kitchen was fully stocked with eggs, muffins, coffee and fresh fruit, which was incredible before long days of hiking. James was available for anything we needed, but was more than happy to give us space and let us do our own thing. The icing on the cake was when James offered to watch our dog the last night we were in town so we could go out just the two of us. James and his adorable and friendly dog, Mr. Blue were wonderful hosts and we'd highly recommend this as a place to stay for anyone wishing to visit the Asheville area.
Zach2017-04-16T00:00:00ZGreat place to stay close to downtown Asheville. James was great and did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable.
Wesley2017-03-19T00:00:00ZJames was a wonderful host and I was very pleased with my first airbnb experience. He was very kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He was willing to help us with any questions we had about asheville but also gave us space when we needed it. His home, yard, and neighborhood are beautiful and safe. The location was a little bit further than downtown than I hoped (20-30 min) but for the price it was totally worth it. I would definitley recommend staying here!
Hannah2017-03-16T00:00:00ZYou may not meet a more authentic AirBnb host than James. He is a very smart gentle soul and has created a peaceful atmosphere in his home. If you seek this in a host, you should definitely stay at James' house. :-)
Robert2017-03-12T00:00:00ZWe loved our stay with James. His house is beautiful and his dog got along well with mine. My pup also loved it here, it wasn't loud and she had a LOT of backyard to run around in. Downtown Asheville is about a 15 minute drive, but there are multiple restaurants and shops all within a five minute drive. James is an excellent host and we recommend his home if you are traveling to Asheville.
Tonya2017-03-06T00:00:00ZReally nice host!
DJ2017-02-27T00:00:00ZWe loved our stay at James home. James has a very large house with a beautiful back yard and front yard in a very nice neighborhood , just about 15-17 mins south from the center of downtown Asheville. At first we were worried that we were staying too far away from our destination of the Explore Arena and Orange Peel located in downtown Asheville, but it was actually the perfect distance . My fiancé and I pick this place because we needed to bring our adorable pup Shelby Rose. James made her feel like home and took care of her as if she was his own. That meant a lot to us considering we recently added her to our family. When we left for our adventures James took care of her and watched over her even though we didn't mind cratering her. She is also a very gentle dog and I think he could see that. Our bedroom was large with a full bed with lots of drawer and closet space and lots of blankets available. The bathroom was located right across from our bedroom with two sinks a tub and separate shower and tons of clean towels to use! James was very hospitable offered us snacks, breakfast and drinks. He also gave us great conversation in front of his beautiful fireplace that he always had going especially when we came home from our late night adventures. James gave us our privacy was accepting, generous interesting and kind. Our favorite part of his home was his adorable and sweet doggie Blue who accompanied our pup perfectly. Great place to stay for travelers dog owners and couples.
Shane2017-02-19T00:00:00ZMy girlfriend and I stayed here for NYE. It's a quick 15 minutes to ft Asheville and 5 minutes to the biltmore. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. James was very accommodating and was easy to reach prior to our arrival. He did have some breakfast foods available as well as coffee.

The view from the windows was beautiful. The whole space was clean, light, and airy. The place was filled with beautiful art work , quilts and. blown glass pieces. Many which were made by the hosts themselves.
Linda2017-04-29T00:00:00ZWe stayed in a suite of huge, beautifully presented and characterful rooms on the upper floor of Sam's & Oksana's house. It's not self-contained, but was perfectly private and quiet. Oksana was a welcoming host, and we appreciated our lively conversations over breakfast and her advice on where to go in Asheville and the area. She recommended an enjoyable hike round the Arboretum and a memorably scenic route to get there. Our stay fully lived up to the high expectations we had from reading previous reviews.
John2017-04-23T00:00:00ZYou will feel like you've stepped into a Tuscan villa! The pictures do not do this place justice. Oksana and Sam are excellent hosts, gracious and go above and beyond. We had privacy but also some lovely conversations with them. Not only will WE stay here again, but I would recommend to ANYONE!!
EJ2017-04-16T00:00:00ZWonderful accommodation! Oksana and Sam were such warm, welcoming and interesting hosts. Excellent cooked breakfast on Saturday. Exceptional weekend. Would definitely stay again!!
Jackie2017-04-09T00:00:00ZWe had wonderful, relaxing weekend and Oksana & Sam are amazing hosts. We especially enjoyed chatting with them and they provided great advice on attractions & restaurants in Asheville. Oksana's homemade pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt (and strong coffee!) were delicious and beautifully served. The home is comfortable, extremely clean and visually entertaining. It was a pleasure viewing all the colorful quilts, glasswork, sculpture, paintings fabrics & upholstery. The views from the windows are magnificent. It is a welcoming, friendly & comfortable retreat close to all the main attractions in Asheville. I wish we could have stayed longer, we hope to return again soon.
Tracey2017-04-02T00:00:00ZThe space is beautiful and we loved meeting the animals. Though this is not the entire place. Not a good idea for large groups or celebrations due to the lack of privacy and space to relax. It's a great home just don't think you're going to have the place to yourself.
Anna2017-03-05T00:00:00ZSam and Oksana's place is in a great neighborhood with a lot of history. We enjoyed walking around in the afternoons. They have beautiful art that gives the home a richness. We enjoyed our stay with them.
Liz2017-02-27T00:00:00ZThis property was great. Oksana was a wonderful host and the living spaces and rooms were modern, clean and very well decorated. She made us a great breakfast in the morning and with two little kids, it was just what we needed before we ventured into town. I would not hesitate to come back here soon, and in fact I hope we will!

The home was very basic, smelled like soggy dogs and was chilly and damp. The GREEN description was a nice marketing touch, but not backed up by the reality of the experience. As a B&B, I would expect a hospitable atmosphere with engaging hosts. Unfortunately, there was little interest or interaction conveyed by the owners. The "breakfast" experience was a non event and disappointing to say the least. Coffee was not offered until 8:45 and if you didn't eat eggs, I guess you were out of luck. Apparently the owners run a restaurant in town and clearly their B&B guests take a backseat to that business. In fact, their B&B business does not seem to be a business but rather an attempt to offset the owners housing costs. When I informed the hostess that we would be getting on the road at 7AM the morning of our departure, she didn't offer any breakfast alternative but merely replied "well, I'LL be sleeping". It would have been nice of her to offer some fruit or a muffin for the road since we paid for that breakfast. Would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
Elissa2017-04-21T00:00:00ZMy partner and I really enjoyed staying with Vicki and Neeraj. The house is clean, and we loved having breakfast with the other guests and getting to know the hosts as well. Highly recommended.
Zachary2016-10-30T00:00:00ZVery pleasant experience. Great location- very close to downtown. Vicky and Neeraj gave us privacy. Wonderful, delicious breakfasts.
Kelley2016-10-17T00:00:00ZLoved the house and the neighborhood. Our room did not have a tv but they quickly set us up with one when we asked about it. Breakfast was very good every morning.
nancy2016-10-11T00:00:00ZMy wife and I very much enjoyed our visit to Asheville. Vickie and Neeraj were great hosts. Their place is conveniently located to numerous attractions in the area. The breakfast conversations with other guests were also a nice treat.
Chris2016-09-06T00:00:00ZAbsolutely fantastic. Nice people, great place, conveniently located. Quiet and secluded at night, surprisingly close to the city. Breakfast is really fantastic, they do a great job running this place.
Michael2016-08-23T00:00:00ZAsheville Green Cottage was as delightful as advertised. The rooms were immaculate and private. The surrounding garden was beautiful and scenic and really added to our trip. Vicki was an excellent host, being both sociable and helpful. Honestly, I would come back just for the delicious breakfast she makes.
Timothy2016-05-02T00:00:00ZMy stay was excellent. Lovely setting, serenely quiet at night, good, healthy breakfast and within walking distance of Biltmore Village. I would recommend this home.

Fran2017-05-14T00:00:00ZWake to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! The view from your room is a stunning mountain view. Becky's home is beautiful and she is an attentive host. Pam2017-04-15T00:00:00ZBecky was a wonderful host and the home was amazing! Best view I've ever had the chance to wake up to! Accommodating and friendly hosts.
drew2017-02-19T00:00:00ZWe really enjoyed staying at this beautiful, unique house in the mountains with some wonderful hosts!
Cliff2017-02-18T00:00:00ZBecky and Ken are amazing people! They have an incredible house and it was so nice to have a little private area of our own off the main living space. Super relaxed and easy going, and Becky made us an incredible breakfast! Super hosts for sure! Location is a little hard to find with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps (first time fail), so I recommend iMaps if you have apple software, got us there perfect. About a 20 minute drive from downtown but beautiful and super cozy! Highly recommend if looking for that far away mountain cabin feel yet still close enough to the hustle and bustle of Asheville and it's downtown life!
Melody2017-01-01T00:00:00ZWe had an amazing stay at the Swenson home. The house and view are even more beautiful then the pictures on the website. Becky and Ken were extremely welcoming and provided a very homey atmosphere but were very kind to give us our privacy as well. Thank you for having us!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Ron's home. The lower level apartment was spacious with a comfy bed, nice bathroom and linens, and an cozy private balcony with a fantastic view. Ron is very kind - we celebrated NYE with him and the other house guests, enjoying a glass of champagne on the upper balcony and watching fireworks over the towns below. It was a lovely stay and we'd recommend it to anyone.

michael2015-11-28T00:00:00ZOur stay this weekend couldn't have gone much better. Ron's welcoming and hospitality throughout our stay allowed us to thoroughly enjoy ourselves in his amazing home. He had recommended that we stay in the downstairs apartment, which was greatly appreciated and gave us the privacy we desired. If there was anything we needed, Ron was accommodating. The views were the reason we chose his listing, and we were not disappointed. Incredible!
Jen2015-11-15T00:00:00ZWe stayed in the downstairs separate entry area with its own patio and it was really better than described. Our host Ron was fantastic and went out of his way to make use feel like guests at a 5 star hotel! He even bought a birthday cake for my sister since our stay there was part of a birthday road trip! So thoughtful! The location was really beautiful in north Asheville just 10 minutes through beautiful windy roads to the Grove Park Inn for dining in one direction and the amazing Blue Ridge Highway in the other. It really couldn't have been better! It would have cost 3 times as much to have any kind of similar experience or amount of room at a hotel. Thank you Ron! I'm certain we'll come back again on our next visit to Asheville.
Greg2015-11-08T00:00:00ZRon was a most generous and welcoming host. His home is beautiful and we enjoyed him taking us on a tour. He made my birthday trip to Asheville a truly memorable one with fresh flowers and even a birthday cake. I can't tell you how long it has been since I even had one. The apartment itself has its own access and is extremely spacious and comfortable. Although the weather did not cooperate the whole weekend, we did get a peak at the wonderful view. Thanks, Ron.
Jean2015-11-03T00:00:00ZRon made us feel very welcome- friendly, attentive. Fresh cut flowers. The home has an excellent view of the sunset. The host's porch affords views of sunrise.
mike2015-10-31T00:00:00ZWe can't say enough about how this stay exceeded our expectations! We had an absolutely wonderful time staying in this beautiful, spacious apartment which provided easy and quick access to everything we wanted to do during our stay. Ron was a superb host who warmly greeted us when we pulled into the driveway, and invited us in to see the gorgeous and spacious apartment that was to be our home for the next 4 days. The apartment was warm and inviting, complete with fresh flowers! The scenery from the private balcony provided a breathtaking view of Asheville and the Great Smoky Mountains. We can't wait to come back and look forward to staying here again.
Beverly2015-10-24T00:00:00ZRon was a wonderful host! He was easy to communicate with and always available. His property was described accurately and the photos posted are a genuine reflection of his amazing home. The location was great for all our needs in and around Asheville. The view from the balcony was beautiful and the sunset on our first day started an unforgettable vacation week. The apartment was very spacious with a private entrance. We were greeted by fresh flowers and Ron supplied generous and thoughtful amenities. The bed and linens were super comfortable. The bathroom was large, well lit, with an abundance of big, soft towels. The kitchen worked perfect for our needs with a lovely Keurig machine, small refrigerator for basic supplies, microwave, dishes, wine glasses, etc. This was an absolute bargain and I highly recommend both Ron and his Blue Ridge Mountain getaway spot. If you are considering Asheville as a destination for a weekend or longer don't look any further and book your dates now!

Holly was very welcoming and a great host. The Oakland Cottage B&B is a beautiful, historic B&B in close proximity to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. We will certainly look to stay here again next time we visit the area.
Corydon2016-09-05T00:00:00ZThe guest room #5 was large and very nice. The bed was comfy and loved the jetted spa tub. The location was very good for the Biltmore and downtown.
shirley2015-05-13T00:00:00ZOur interim hosts Jim and Susan were welcoming and very helpful. This is a very comfortable place to stay that allows you quick access to what Asheville has to offer. Martha is very accommodating and this place has great value.
Burritt2017-01-02T00:00:00ZMartha's space was absolutely perfect for us. As soon as we walked in, Martha greeted us with warmth and smiles. She was feeling a bit under the weather, but that did mean we got to smell some amazing soup! The bed was immediately occupied for nap time and that could've been our trip! After a long night at a concert, heading back peace and quiet was just a quick car trip back from downtown. The next morning (now us feeling a bit ill), we woke up to coffee and homemade muffins from a friend of Martha's. This is a highly recommended space to stay for the comfort and of course because of sweet Martha!
Caroline2016-12-11T00:00:00ZMy husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay with Martha. We were flying by the seat of our pants on this trip and Martha was very understanding and accommodating about our lack of knowing when we'd show up! There was water, small pastries and apples in the room and she made wonderful french pressed coffee in the morning. Martha is great to visit with if you get the opportunity and can tell you what you need to know about the city and places to go.
Deb2016-11-06T00:00:00ZMartha was awesome! A very warm welcome with water waiting for us and full explanation of all that the Mimosa Room had to offer. Helped us when we needed some guidance navigating the city and even found an earring that escaped us as we were leaving (recovered!). Great room, comfortable bed and great location!
Andrew2016-10-23T00:00:00ZThe Mimosa Room is a wonderful place to experience Asheville. Situated perfectly between West Asheville, Downtown, Biltmore Village and River Arts District, there is no better place to be! Martha is a wonderful host, helpful and laid back. Private, clean accommodations with a private entrance. I stayed for a month and had a great experience thanks to Martha. I'll definitely be back!
Kristen2016-10-17T00:00:00ZGreat landing pad for any adventure you wanna have in Asheville. Martha is a really awesome lady, very warm and kind. Full of knowledge about things to see and do in Asheville. Very peaceful place to relax and enjoy.

This is a beautiful old home with lots of character. An excellent breakfast every morning, treats at night, with a fully stocked fridge at your disposal. Quilts on the king beds, beautiful light, an in-room library, and it's walking distance to everything downtown.
Wes2017-03-21T00:00:00ZOur stay at the Rankin House was absolutely wonderful. We came for the weekend to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday and my mother, sister, niece and I shared the 2 bedroom suite. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were large and beautiful with pretty fireplaces. The house was lovely and we felt so at home during our stay. Breakfast each morning was fantastic and they had everything we needed and more, including a refrigerator with complimentary drinks and snacks for guests. The house was located just a few minutes from Downtown Asheville, so very centrally located and just a short drive or walk to everywhere we wanted to visit. The innkeeper, Scott, was great and so easy (and fast!) to communicate with. We can't say enough good things about our stay. We will definitely be coming back soon!
Amanda2015-12-21T00:00:00ZAlthough this suite was listed on air bnb, the two rooms are actually part of an absolutely lovely bed and breakfast. The frame house is gorgeous on the inside and has a large balcony and front porch. Scott, the manager, made a great breakfast every morning and he was nothing but gracious and amiable. Beers stocked in the fridge, cookies every night and fruit in the mornings! The bed and breakfast is also in a really beautiful historic neighborhood and it's easy to walk downtown. I can't recommend the rankin house inn enough. The two rooms we had shared a bathroom that was a good size and had a nice tub/shower. The rooms themselves were really spacious and there were electric fireplaces in each of our rooms. And the guests themselves were also really friendly and chatty! The only warning I would offer is that parking can be a little tricky if you're planning on driving some sort of big van or SUV and parking it behind the house. We managed to navigate it just fine with a car, but I can see it being a bit tricky with a larger car.
Paige2015-11-28T00:00:00ZWhat an amazing home! The location was a quick 7 minute walk to downtown Asheville. You can't beat it. Our suite was as described and the overall look of the home was beautiful. Scott provided great breakfasts and evening snacks. I would absolutely recommend this location to my friends and family!
Merryl2015-08-24T00:00:00ZThe neighborhood was historic and perfectly located for us. Scott was there to greet us even tho we were a tad late arriving. He had beer in the fridge, directions to the places we wanted to go and even offered to drive us to the location. There were plenty of common spaces while the Elizabeth Bearden suite provided us with plenty of privacy. We can’t wait to return and we will definitely choose to stay in the history rich Rankin House again!
Kimberly2015-05-21T00:00:00ZThe reservation was canceled 26 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

Professional and personable. Truly a winning combination.
Martin2017-04-30T00:00:00ZThis was my first stop at a bed and breakfast, and I was not disappointed at all! Everything is as advertised. The owners are lovely people. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a fairly-priced stay near downtown Asheville.
Dustin2017-04-22T00:00:00ZWe arrived to find another guest on the porch who told us we were in the right place and there was a note on the door. The key was in the room door. Which was nice but a totally different room than the pics on air bnb. The only face to face interaction with the host was being asked to leash our dog. No hello no welcome no goodbye , no breakfast, actually we felt like we were imposing and not altogether welcome at all. Not sure where our dog was supposed to run a little , or where to put her excrement. We have a great mattress at home so it's hard to compare but it would be difficult to spend another night given we both woke up uncomfortable. Just not sure what the heck is going on with this b&b. The house is nice, quiet, between the conservative and hip part of Asheville. Very clean, the three golden retrievers were adorable and barked a lot and we got to interact with them a little through their gated yard. We're not high maintenance but would have appreciated a hello, brief explanation of house rules, and good bye. We will return to Asheville but reserve a different situation. It might have been an off weekend for our hosts but we hope they treat other guests with a bit more hospitality
Michael2017-04-16T00:00:00Z10min drive to downtown Asheville. Private room. Great yard if you are traveling with your dog(s).
Stasa2017-04-09T00:00:00ZWe loved staying here! The house is quiet and is in an awesome setting, it's great for traveling with a dog! Our golden loved the other goldens who lived here! It's walking distance to Hi-Wire Big Top and close to the Biltmore. Vicki made us eggs for breakfast with fresh avocado that were delicious. The hosts seem to really care about sustainability, hence the name Green Cottage. I'd highly recommend Green Cottage if you're looking for a place with some character and a very clean, comfortable stay!
Mary Beth2017-03-26T00:00:00ZWe were very pleased with our stay! Personally, I was very impressed with how clean and comfortable our room and private bathroom was. Everything from check-in to check-out was very smooth and we did not have to contact hosts for further questions/help. Thanks again!
Trang2017-03-19T00:00:00ZQuiet, but close to everything. A great place to retreat after an active day traveling or site-seeing. Loved being greeted by a pack of adorable golden retrievers. :)
brooke2017-03-12T00:00:00ZVicki was a wonderful host for out stay in Asheville. It was closer to downtown than I expected and would recommend it to anyone looking to avoid late night noise. As others have said, call before you arrive. The GPS will accurately guide you to the house but there is a separate driveway to access parking in the back.

We miscalculated our check-in times three times (coming from a festival in Tennessee). Sharon was more than accommodating. We finally got there right before another big storm and Sharon and Gary were waiting for us on their deck at about 8:00 p.m. I had initially thought we would be there about 3:00 p.m. Sharon makes a special breakfast for weekend morning. She had us choose our breakfast from a list. We had a wonderful time eating and swapping stories breakfast that morning and we talked until almost 2 p.m. on a rainy Sunday. We loved sharing space with them, their dogs and cat. The house has amazing huge windows to look out upon the valley, their gardens, and a bird feeder. We saw birds we don't see in Wisconsin. If you want a laid back vacation at beautiful place just a few minutes away from town, Sunset Sweet is a great place.
Patricia 2017-04-26T00:00:00ZIf you want a mostly peaceful tranquil backcountry getaway with reasonable proximity to a mid size city this is a great option. Hosts are very warm, helpful and welcoming
Mike2017-04-19T00:00:00ZSharon and Garry's place is a beautiful haven in the mountains. Their 43-acre house is perfect for a single or couple's getaway. In my three years of Air BnB-ing, they are the best hosts, including their dogs Sunny and Shadow. The dogs welcomed me when I arrived and they became my friends. They tagged along on my hike with Sharon on their property. Sunny and Shadow are adorable gentle giants! Sharon was willing to accommodate my late check-in but, since my car broke down and I missed a night's stay, she was really generous in offering me an extra night free of charge. I had great conversations with them over breakfast--homemade muffins, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruits. Sharon's communication gets 11 out of 10; she contacted me beforehand to learn the goals of my trip and, while there, they recommended hikes around the area and restaurants. The house is about 15 minutes from Asheville so you can enjoy Asheville's happenings and come back to your quiet, calm and zen mountain home. Their house is safe, clean and welcoming; it is everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing vacation.
Pratibha2017-04-14T00:00:00ZGreat place to relax! Feels like the middle of nowhere but only 15 minutes from asheville. Dogs are awesome!
Izzy2017-03-14T00:00:00ZOur stay was very private. We had the comforts of home, but the added bonus of great scenery and hiking trails right out the back door. The breakfast were a wonderful and very tasty treat. We enjoyed the beautiful friendly dogs. We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone who wants to stay in the country when visiting the city of Asheville.
Karen2017-03-12T00:00:00ZWhat a magical spot! My partner and I loved being able to balance spending time in downtown Asheville and relaxing in this mountain oasis. Our one regret is that we didn't stay longer. Sharon and Gary have a warm and welcoming home with unrivaled views from each side of the house. They have a great hiking trail which their 2 loving dogs will accompany you on. The breakfast was delicious and it was nice to sit down and chat with Sharon and Gary while eating. We had our own wing of the house which felt very private but Sharon and Gary were happy to answer any questions. I highly recommend staying here and we know we'll be back!
Kerry2017-03-08T00:00:00ZThis is our second time staying at Sunset Sweet and it was as wonderful as we remembered! We were able to enjoy the trail on their property and had clear views of the valley and mountains in the distance. It was extremely peaceful. Sharon and Gary are gracious and interesting hosts, and Sharon's home-cooked breakfasts were delicious! We look forward to visiting again soon.
Gaby2017-02-12T00:00:00ZI had decided at the last minute to book a 3 night weekend getaway and was glad to find such a nice, reasonable place to stay like Sunset Sweet. Sharon and Gary were great hosts and they have such a cozy home. Sharon provided a delicious breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday, but I decided to grab breakfast at Biscuit Head before heading back home Monday morning. The location is convenient to both downtown Weaverville and Asheville, but rural enough to allow for lots of stargazing on a clear night. I loved getting to meet their pups, Shadow and Sunny, and their cat Spazz, and enjoyed going on a short hike through their property with Sharon. I greatly appreciated their hospitality and great conversation, and hope to be back another time.
