Asbury Park vacation rentals

As one of the many beach towns that stretch along the Atlantic Ocean, Asbury Park features a mile-long boardwalk, an orchestra pavilion, changing huts, a pier to stroll on, and much more all parallel to the white sand beaches of the Jersey Shore. Aside from being a big beach destination, the town is well known for its lively night scene. Strips of bars, restaurants, and shops on the boardwalk offer late-night fun, or trying your luck at one of the many fair-style games; funky hats, glasses, and plushy prizes all included. Highly respected rock musicians have played shows here over the years, with plenty of music festivals also marking the small town as a stop on their tours.

The summer months, particularly June-August, are the most popular time to visit Asbury Park as the weather is balmy and the ocean has warmed. There are also various music events held annually, varying in genre each year. Spring also boasts warm weather for visitors to enjoy, but daily lows may prove a bit chilly for any swimming activities.

As the fall months arrive, the weather tends to remain pleasant for some beach action, or for just taking a stroll along the pier. The Annual AsburyFest, held annually every September, greets visitors with a three-day culinary festival that includes live jazz music, vendors serving the freshest of oysters, and more. Winters can be a bit cold and windy, with temperatures dropping to just above freezing, but the town remains as lively as ever. The Asbury Park Convention Hall hosts a wonderful Christmas Bazaar each year, featuring holiday-themed food, crafts, and music to bring in the cheery season to town.

Silverball Museum Arcade

With 600 games in rotation, this arcade and museum is a living tribute to Asbury Park’s pinball and video gaming heritage. The pinball machines date back to the 1950s and feature many classics, paying homage to the famous stars and pop culture antics that once thrived here. Visitors can enjoy trying out the machines at an hourly rate while munching on a hot dog or some sweet funnel cake.

The Stone Pony

Perhaps one of the most well-known music venues in all of New Jersey, the Stone Pony has seen its fair share of musicians and bands stopping by and putting on a show for crowds of hundreds. Today the venue also plays host to the Annual Asbury Music Awards which celebrate and recognize the local talent in the area’s music scene.

Ocean Grove

Take a short trip to the small town of Ocean Grove, where a calm beach and boardwalk greet visitors. The town is known as a “Tent City” which consists of 114 charming tent structures that are lived in by congregants and visitors in the summer. While in town, you can also check out the Great Auditorium, built entirely out of wood and mostly unchanged since its creation over a century ago. Religious services, exhibitions, and other events are held behind the barn doors that serve as the structure’s front entrance.
