  • That's what we had in mind when thinking about a real Scottish experience: a wonderful house in the middle of the Highlands, next to the sea. Plenty things to see around, wonderful people - a place where time doesn't exist! Stephanie and Adrian do everything that their guests have a relaxed time! Highly recommended!

  • Lovely accommodation. Beautiful, peaceful location .

  • Highly recommend a stay at the very beautiful Winterton. Stephanie and Adrian went out of their way to made us feel welcome, as comfortable as possible and gave us plenty of tips and advice about the area. The dinner and ambience was fantastic and well worth it. Hoping to see them again soon.

    Annelie2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular views. A perfectly appointed, beautifully designed home. The most considerate hosts. Be sure to request a dinner cooked Stephanie and always take time for her 3-course breakfast. If you want to get away from it all, this is it.

    Veronika2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Winterton is wonderful, with far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. It's just a short walk to the water's edge, and at low tide, you can cross to a small island and watch the bird life. The accommodation is light, spacious and beautifully decorated. Stephanie and Adrian were great hosts, had very good local knowledge about where to go and what to see, and the meals were of an excellent standard.

  • Everything was great, highly recommended. Definitely a beach walk !!!!!

Enjoyed scenic walks on this peaceful quiet island and was glad of having a very welcoming place to stay. Just the break I needed. Thanks Ruth 🙂

    Miranda2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth's house is magic! It somehow expanded to accommodate many of our wedding guests and was a home from home for the weekend. Lot's of local knowledge and very warm hospitality- highly recommended!

  • Comfy, great clean and easy stay- lovely full breakfast- gluten free and dairy free no problem, lovely home made lime marmalade and had evening meal one night- highly recommend 😊

    Susan2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • People visiting Ruth and Dughall's airbnb will not be disappointed. They are both friendly and helpful. If you want to know a little history of the island or how to get about just ask. You'll want to come back!

    David2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Ruth's place was just phenomenal! She is a very kind person and we got along very quickly. Her husband is very nice too. I loved my room, the whole place and the easy going spirit there. I was at the oyster restaurant that night and the food and service was great too. I would recommend it to anybody who not just visits Ellenabeich/Easdale but to everybody who generally visits Scotland.

  • We had the most perfect stay with Stephanie and Adrian. The house is beautiful and stylish and the views and walk from the doorstep just breathtaking. Our room was warm and cosy. The breakfast is delicious and to be offered a choice is going the extra mile. We had dinner twice and Stephanie’s cooking is exceptional (so don’t hesitate to book this as you won’t be disappointed. Adrian also very knowledgeable about local area and history. Highly recommended and hoping to go back soon.

    Wendy2019-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Adrian’s place is absolutely wonderful. It is in the most beautiful spot, with glorious panoramic views. The retreat itself is incredibly relaxing and they are such attentive and friendly hosts. Our stay was way too brief but will definitely be back.

    Robbie2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Adrian have a fabulous house in a spectacular location, but they don’t rely on that to make your stay special. Great attention to detail, outstanding food and helpful local knowledge made our stay complete. We would unreservedly recommend their place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Sue2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gem Stephanie and Adrian's place is! We had an incredible stay in this beautiful part of Argyll. The accommodation is exquisite and has everything you need for a very relaxing stay: beautiful furnishings, a huge chillout living space, an amazing breakfast, and a jaw-dropping view of the surrounding countryside. The only downside was that we didn't have time to stay here longer! We'll certainly be back again to explore more of the area and experience more of Stephanie and Adrian's delightful hospitality.

    Janelle2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts in a great location. Breakfast is amazing and we loved our stay.

    Christopher2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here. Di provided a book of walks for the area and I immersed myself in 2 passions: walking and the neolithic. The Old Manse is 20 yards from the Kilmartin trail and 50 yards from the museum, so a perfect location. If more recent history is of interest Kilmartin church has some amazing grave slabs and Carnasserie Castle is within walking distance. David was a mine of information over breakfast and introduced me to siskins who were feeding on sunflower hearts and told me the best site for neolithic rock art. Breakfast was delicious with smoked, baked salmon and scrambled eggs on offer as well as home made jams. Delicious! Fresh milk was provided to make tea and coffee in the rooms.

    Sheena2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • With David, I immediately felt at home. Both are very helpful, friendly and happy to give tips if you need them. Everything is very clean and the breakfast is delicious, as they offer everything you need!

    Susanne2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We booked a room in David and Di’s B&B in Kilmartin when we took an unplanned detour on our Highland road trip, and it was an unexpected highlight of our time in Scotland. The drive from Fort William was incredible, and house was charming with large, clean rooms and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the garden and the surrounding countryside. David and Di were lovely hosts who talked to us about the rich history of the town and gave us tips on things to see in the area. We especially enjoyed the breakfast service. We highly recommend this Airbnb experience.

    Amanda2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to discover. The Victorian house is wonderful and the garden even more. There were plenty of little birds having their breakfast in front of the dining room, we really loved that. David and his family were wonderful hosts. Perfect place to stay, we would definitely recommend.

  • Such a wonderfully comfortable B&B! Dave and Di are the kindest, most accommodating hosts ... offering quintessential Scottish hospitality. The area is rich with Neolithic and more recent history; Dave can not only tell you how to find what is already published, but can tell you the stories behind each and every place. Di's breakfasts are superb ... I would book again, just to have the meal! My surprise was to discover that Dave is also quite the artist (yes, I did pick up an item or two) ... but I won't divulge his skill; it will be a nice surprise for you when you visit The Old Manse. Oh, and the Kilmartin Hotel, just a 4 minute walk down the road, has a super meal and drinks menu. And, for historians, the Kirk across the street from the hotel has some very, very old medieval grave slabs in its graveyard, which overlooks beautiful pasture lands in the glen - super photographs at sunset!

Kings Reach is a VEGAN bed and breakfast with two spacious ensuite rooms . We are situated just off the A816 on the edge of the small village of Kilmichael Glassary, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac of other properties. We are 4 miles from Lochgilphead and 35 miles south of Oban ferry port. Our breakfasts are 100% plant based , so we don't serve any meat, fish, dairy or eggs. You don't have to be vegan to stay here, everyone is welcome.
Our luxury king size ensuite room is large and bright with a wooden bedstead and deep comfortable mattress. There is also a dressing table with hairdryer, and a sitting area where you can watch the sun going down over Dunadd Hill. There is a coffee table and welcome tray with tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom is spacious with shower cubicle, white fluffy towels and complimentary vegan soap bars. The landing also has a sitting area with guest fridge, and bookshelf. In the interest of peace and relaxation for all there is no TV in the room. Breakfast is served in our dining room between 7.30am and 8.30am - there is a self-service vegan breakfast buffet of cereals, fresh fruit, plant milks, fruit juice, yoghurts, home baked pastries/muffins, and freshly baked bread plus a variety of cooked vegan breakfasts ordered the evening before.
We are ideally located in mid-Argyll, 4 miles south of Kilmartin village with its museum, and a short drive from Lochgilphead, Inveraray, the Crinan canal, Knapdale forest and the bustling ferry port of Oban , Gateway to the Hebrides. Glasgow is a scenic two hour drive away, ideal for a weekend break. Kilmichael Glassary is a small village and there is a pub 5 minutes walk from the cottage that serves evening meals every day. Dunadd Hill Fort can be seen from the property and it is well worth a climb to the summit to see the breathtaking panoramic view. We are located on the Argyll Coastal route and Cycle route 78 ( The Caledonia way). Mid-Argyll is a beautiful magical part of Scotland, a real hidden gem. There are many historical sites with ancient standing stones and rock carvings. We have lochs and castles, forests, rugged coastline, beautiful beaches, amazing rainbows and sunsets, and wildlife on the doorstep.
  • We LOVED our stay at Sara and Sean’s. They were such welcoming and hospitable hosts. Our room was spotless with a great view and a big comfy bed. The breakfast spread was really good and included some of Sara’s amazing home-baked goods (try the cinnamon swirls!). There were several brochures about Scotland to read as well as some about the local area so that you can plan your stay there. The hosts were more than happy to make recommendations. It’s difficult to sum up our stay in a few words but we would definitely go back if we could and we already miss staying there.
