  • Red light outside front door. Enough said

    Patrick2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment is very centrally located in the red light district which certainly made for some excitement but also a lot of noise throughout the night.

  • We had such a great stay. The place is cozy, clean and the host is incredible. He works in the market next door and was always there to offer advice if we needed. The apartment has a lot of charm and is located in the heart of red light district (which puts you right in the middle of all things). Would stay here again!

    Elana2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it. The apartment is located in the heart of the red light district, walking distance to the night life and day time market areas, making it perfect for everyone. Granted, it is across the street to a few "window entertainment personalities" so I wouldn't suggest it for children. The apartment was a little hard to find, but the renter really helped me out by suggesting a safe place to park and meeting me by the parking structure. The apartment was clean and well made to comfortable housing 6 people. I will definitely be staying here again with a large group again.

    Christopher2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Me was a good host and the apartment is very nice and in a great area.

  • Aart's houseboat is a little gem nestled in a community of houseboats just a short tram ride to the city centre. It's a lovely unique place with a fabulous outdoor space, has everything you need and the most comfortable bed!! Aart is a fantastic host who went out of his way to help me plan my arrangements for my trip and was happy to give great recommendations for restaurants and places to go. We had a brilliant time and wish we could have stayed longer at Aarts home. Highly recommended!

    Laura2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Aart was a wonderful host and made us both feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. He gave us all the necessary information about the flat and also told us handy travel information. He even managed to get hold of two bikes for us to rent so we didn't have to go wondering around trying to find some ourselves! We had a great time in Amsterdam and would definitely stay there again :) Ps - really comfortable bed and great shower!

  • We had a fantastic time in Amsterdam! Arts houseboat was just the right place to stay it. We found the location in this great neighborhood with design houseboats really really good! Just 12 minutes with the tram to Amsterdam down town and it goes every 5-10 minutes. The houseboat itself was super comfy. Me and my girlfriend had the (URL HIDDEN) of the mattresses I have left on!!! Art gave us the tip to have food at the Vrijbucht, a restaurant located in that neighborhood.....great atmosphere and really good food! I think I do not have to say anything about Amsterdam :D Awesome city!! Thank you again for the great stay at your place Aart!! We would definitely recommend to stay at Aarts place!!

  • Perfect experience at Karin's bed and breakfast. She went above and beyond as a host and my husband and I would love to visit again. 5/5!!!

    Cait2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Karin was a lovely host! she made us a great breakfast and was very friendly

    Charlotte2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such an idyllic place and such a good host! Karin is such a wonderful woman! We all had a hard time at midnight because of the space cake bought in Amsterdam, but Karin gave us so much care and help! The cabin feels rather special. It's really well-equipped and comfortable! The breakfast and welcome basket are all amazing! Thank you Karin for everything you did for us!

    Xinpeng2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karin is an amazing host -- she has a bright and friendly (and my daughter said to mention "funny":-)) personality that will make you feel comfortable immediately upon meeting her. It is obvious that she loves what she's doing and entertaining her guests. We felt welcome as soon as we met her (she kindly picked us and dropped us off at the train station, and was very flexible/considerate, also helped us through the process of buying tickets on way back). Cabin is as advertised, very cozy, clean, with nice and roomy bathroom, and well-prepared for guests (Karin even had a welcome basket --- much appreciated), with beds set up and all. Hearty breakfasts served with nice country touches energized us for the day's activities. It was a great end to our weeks of traveling through Europe -- we enjoyed the walks through the quiet neighborhood (Zaans Schans is walkable) amidst the smell of chocolate, the private terrace with barbecue grill, trying out Karin's bikes, and most especially Karin's attentive and warm hosting (and meeting her "part-time" dog:-)). This is definitely on our list of top recommended listings and we would love to stay here again. Thank you very much for a lovely stay, and all the best to you, Karin!

    Irma2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karin was a wonderful, attentive host, who thought of everything and she was always available. Her little cabin is very cosy and clean. You can feel that everything was planed with love. We didn't miss anything. The breakfast was really huge and delicious. We definitely come back !

    Roger2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • You will be absolutely spoiled at Karin's! My daughter and I stayed over Christmas for three nights, we wished it had been a week or more! Karin is a gracious hostess who has all the little extras right there. She has bus passes which are preloaded for trips into the city. There are bikes available if the weather is nice. We loved the location because it put us outside the city, but close to a bus that shot us into the city within 30 minutes. Karin offers wonderful advice on places to visit and restaurants. The kitchenette is nice with all the things necessary to make a meal or have snacks. I would recommend you take advantage of Karin's breakfasts. Delicious! The little cabin is so cozy. We were very comfortable there. I can't wait until I can go back and stay longer. You won't be disappointed with this booking!

    Katrina2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect, only one short train to get to Amsterdam. The place was so nice and felt so good to come back to after a day of exploring the city. The host was very helpful and so nice to talk to. Highly recommended.

    Matthew2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience was perfect. The little house is too cute! Karin was helpful, brought us yummy breakfast and provided us with any extras we needed...the location is great and close to Zaanse Schans which was a beautiful historical area with windmills and old homes. It's also about a 20 min drive to downtown, we parked at a park and walk garage right outside of the center, but you can also take a bus which Karin provides detailed instructions. She also lovingly welcomed our dogs which was very nice! I highly recommend this AirBnB to anyone wanting to visit the Amsterdam and the Netherlands!

    Quiet and tranquility
  • Our stay at the houseboat was mostly enjoyable. It is a very beautiful arrangement and everything worked well as it was supposed to. A big living room and a comfortable bed with a simple drinks provided. We stayed there for a rowing regatta so bikes included in the stay were a massive help. Even though hosts are living next door you can't feel theirs presence and can quickly forget that you're not at home... Will definitely recommend this place to friends and stay here if we ever come back again to Amsterdam.

  • Awesome! Very nice Place to stay!

    Katharina2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing, beautiful houseboat. A bit away from all the hustle and bustle of the city but as it turned out for us, that was welcomed. An easy, beautiful walk to the tram and a 30 minute ride to the city center. All the details are covered here. This is a very well appointed space. Super comfortable bed, nice bathroom, lovely view from the main living area, and gracious, friendly hosts. They offer pick up from the airport for only 20 euro. That's a great deal compared to taxi fare and it would be difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area.

    Michelle2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this houseboat! The hosts are extremely nice, from picking us up at the tram station to stocking the kitchen with beverages and snacks, they really made every effort to make us feel at home. The home itself is beautiful, with a well-equipped kitchen, and of course, a lovely view of the canal. The location is very peaceful and relaxing, but also has great access to public transit. We took full advantage of the great offer to use the bikes onsite- cycling into the city center was a breeze, as was making the short trip to the store with the handy bike baskets. All in all, a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat someday soon!

    Lisa2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This houseboat is a beautiful place to be! Located in the outskirts of Amsterdam it is a pleasure to come back from the city centre of amsterdam after a day of sightseeing and just relax. We used the provided bikes every day and enjoyed the ride to the centre and back. The houseboat is very modern and clean, the interieur is chosen lovingly. Frans was a perfect host and we hope we come back some day!

    Marco2013-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was fantastic! Frans' place was exactly like the pictures, maybe even better! We enjoyed the walk around the neighbourhood, away from the hustle and bustle from the city. Frans left us celebratory Christmas champagne and a nice little parting gift. The boathouse is well equipped with everything needed for the stay. Frans was accommodating with our schedules with flight delays and all. We're missing the place as we type and will be back if we get a chance!

    shovan2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The houseboat is well equipped and Frans had put out lots of extras that really made us feel welcome. Communications were all good and Frans was a nice and friendly host. For us the location was perfect, because we had the bicycles and good weather and the chance to explore Amsterdam differently. We truly enjoyed our stay at the houseboat.

  • This place is a gem. It has absolutely everything you need. Beautiful location well equipped facilities and the owners are very lovely people. The house boat was exactly like the pictures and the best part I believe were the bikes they provide. We used them every day during our stay and it takes about 20 minutes to cycle in to the center. Seriously do not hesitate to book this place. It had everything you need for a nice relaxing stay and more.

Looking for a group accommodation in Amsterdam? Nothing is more fun than sleeping on a ship. The Maxima is different than usual, has round shapes, shiny showers, clean lines and coloured doors. The ship is located in the artistic neighbourhood: the NDSM Wharf in the North of Amsterdam.
The Maxima is a traditional sailing ship from 1900, but a little different than other traditional ships in Holland. With a modern interior, round shapes, lots of colours and pleasant atmosphere you feel at home right away. The living space consists of a dayroom and kitchen where you can cook, relax, be together and celebrate your holidays. There are two showers, two toilets and six cabins for two persons, and one cabin for four. There are only single beds. In total, there is space for 18 people. In the summer months, the Maxima sails on the Wadden Sea as a charter ship. It is also possible to book a day-sailing-trip when you sleep on the ship in Amsterdam. For information and bookings, we refer you through to our booking agency: Captain Quality. Or you can just send us an Airbnb message for more info.
The Maxima is located on a jetty on the authentic old shipyard: the NDSM-wharf in Amsterdam North. From the boat it is a 5-minute walk to the (free) ferry, that will take you across the water to the central station in 15 minutes, or you can take the other ferry that will bring you to the beginning of the beautiful 'Jordaan' neighborhood in 9 minutes. So, in maximum twenty minutes you will be in the city centre of Amsterdam. On the pictures of the Maxima, you still see the old private jetty where the Maxima is anchored. Nowadays we lay right around the corner (still at the same distance from the ferry) on a shared jetty with other boats. Because this is a private site, parking up to two cars is free when you stay at the Maxima. Besides the famous city center, Amsterdam has a lot more to offer. For example, the NDSM Wharf, where the boat is anchored. This area emerged the last five years as one of the hippest and most creative neighborhoods in Amsterdam. In the summer time there are festivals organized every weekend, and in the winter there are all creative and cultural events in the huge industrial warehouses. At a two-minute walk from the boat, you will find Café Noorderlicht, an organic restaurant that already had sustainability and bio-products before it became a trend. In the evenings they often have live music. Tip: when night falls, go drink a local beer on the Noorderlicht terrace, overlooking the water and the Amsterdam skyline. Slightly further you will find Pllek, a restaurant built from old shipping containers, with great food and good music. And just two minutes further, you will find the ferry that takes you across the water to the centre of Amsterdam. When you choose to book the Maxima, we will send you a detailed map with al the info and walking routes. At the departure site of the ferries, there is a bakery: BBROOD!, where they serve delishious bread. Below are the times of the ferry at the NDSM site. There also exists another ferry at a a 15-minute bicycle ride distance from the Buiksloterweg NDSM ferry to Central Station. This goes every night, all night long, every 12 minutes. You will therefore always get home, no matter what time it is. Besides ferries, there is also a bus from the NDSM Wharf to the Central station and an Uber costs between €11-€16.
  • We booked the boat for 11 people over the weekend and had a nice stay. The cabins are very small but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the "living room" had enough space for us all. The boat is a little bit of the center but with the ferry which comes every 30 min you can reach Amsterdam Centraal in just 15 min (for free!). Would book again :-)

    Christopher2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • the boat offers a great communal space, very appreciable for organizing a big group trip and wanting to have social time all together (which is difficult to achieve even in central city bars when you're 15 or more). There is plenty of room to stay, our group of 14 all had a bed, and there's much more space (sofas) to use if need be. The place is well heated (felt warm even in January with plenty of windows open - as needed to keep the air healthy on the boat), the two showers deliver the best warm streams i've had in a year, toilets function perfectly. You've got all the amenities to cook something, even complicated. Well it's supposed to cater for people on a sail trip and I can see it would be the best ship to do that! Rich the skipper is very friendly and explain everything, and came sometimes to check if everything with us, but not intrusive. Check-in/out was easy and straightforward, with good communication before. I recommend the place as the best and most memorable Airbnb I've ever had to rent!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The boat was clean and comfortable and perfect for a quick hop over the river into the city centre for Kings Day!!!. Highly recommend for a big group. Hosts really friendly

  • Liv's boat was really nice and perfect for staying in Amsterdam as really really close to the ferry departure. It was good fun to sleep in a boat and everthing was nice and prepared for our stay, even some coffe and nice restaurant advices! Great hospitality!

  • We had a wonderful weekend on the Maxima. The communication with Liv was smooth and we felt very welcome on board. The rooms were clean, the water was warm and the kitchen fully equipped. The location is awesome - you can take the ferry for free wich leads you directly into the centre. Still there are very cool bars and restaurants right next to the boat. We will come back for sure! Thanks Liv!

  • We had a great time on the boat. The boat was nice and warm. It was convenient to catch the free ferry to go in the center of Amsterdam. We followed some of Liv's restaurants recommendations and they were great!

  • It was a very enjoyable experience staying in a boat. Everything that was offered was all right. When we arrived at the pier, it was a little complex, because we must go through a dirt road that with the rain turns to mud. Erick was very helpful and he gave us a lot of useful information.

This brand new B&B is set on Amsterdam's oldest canal in the beautiful city center of Amsterdam. With Dam square, the Royal Palace and the bustling red light district all within a minute's walk - you will be very well positioned to explore all the wonders Amsterdam has to offer. The spacious room is located at the quiet back of the building, situated around the quiet inner court yard. Beautiful windows and antic fireplace and woodwork. Shared bathroom with 1 other room.
The bright and clean bedroom is luxuriously decorated and full of character, including high ceilings. The building has a monument status and is situated in a Unesco World Heritage site. My house is situated at the frontside of the building and the two guest rooms have private access. The room faces the inner courtyard. Shared bathroom with the other guest room. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me for more information. I am living in the front part of the building. Unfortunately it is not possible to store luggage. There are plenty of storage boxes for rent in Central Station to store luggage.
The building is located in a very central area, minutes walk from all points of interest, like Ann Frank house and Dam Square. Perfect location that is near everything one might want to do in Amsterdam!
  • Charming modern canal house in an ideal location near Red Light District... host included various extras including stroopwaffle, wi-fi, water, various size towels, and plastic disposal cups. Newly renovated and fresh paint scheme. While room does share a bath room is equipped with it's own personal sink which was very appropriate.

  • Location, Location, Location! The houseboat is in a perfect location. Short walk to the train station, metro station, restaurants, "coffee" shops, red light district, Rembrandt house, supermarket, little specially shops, canal tours, hop on off bus, diamond factory and Sky line view. You can experience everything Amsterdam has to offer in a few minutes. Please be advised there are multiple stairs, ladders and other obstacles to access the boat. All very doable and you learn a few tricks but still can be a little challenging. The boat is large and extremely comfortable and the beds were wonderful. Kitchen is well equipped and the hosts supplied us with some starter food. Rain shower and bath tub worked beautifully. Having coffee on the deck watching the boats go by will be a long term memory. Note that the deck is very hot mid day so bring your sunscreen. Our gracious hosts were very accommodating. Live like a Dutch national on a houseboat! I was able to cross this off my bucket list!

  • 3 Words: Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! This houseboat will blow your mind and counts as a truly unique experience. It is absolutely worth the price and I could finally mark “sleeping on a houseboat” from my bucket list! Thanks to both hosts, Robertino & Carl, for this experience and the pleasant support during my stay. I loved the bottle of prosecco and typical Dutch breakfast treats :-) 5 stars for me and hope to come back again someday:)

  • Amazing all around.

  • If you are looking for a truly unique experience in Amsterdam, you couldn't go past staying in this beautiful houseboat. It's location is 5 star and what I didn't realise is you stay right where you are because from the deck you get to live local Amsterdam - everything happens around you. We didn't leave the boat except for groceries, and believe me, you won't want to eat out - the whole houseboat experience is just too good to leave. Everything you could possibly want and need is in the boat and everything is pretty, cared for and stylish. The owners, Roberto and Carl, go over and above what is required - you'll enjoy your hosts.

    Maureen2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a mind-blowing experience to stay at this houseboat during my Amsterdam trip! The hosts were very welcoming: they filled up the fridge, prepared a fruit basket as well as gave us insider tips for the best local restaurants and shops in town. This experience definitely exceeded my expectations of living on a houseboat!

    Stefan2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Carl and Robertinos home with my parents and my brother during our recent vacation to Europe. We spent 3 nights exploring Amsterdam and calling this unique boat home. Carl and Robertino were always quick to respond and easy to communicate with from the time of inquiry right through check out. When we arrived, the home was exactly as described and beautifully decorated. The master bedroom is spacious and the 2 smaller rooms are cozy private nooks. One thing to note is that the 2 smaller rooms don't have space to unpack or dress, they're really just beds with a sliding door. Even so, my family of 4 adults was comfortable for 3 nights. Carl and Robertino went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - even leaving champagne to ring in the New Year. I would highly recommend this home as a central, unique place to take in Amsterdam.

    Melissa2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is too cool. Having traveled to Amsterdam many times, I had long dreamt of staying on a houseboat. I had high hopes of my first experience on one, and this place greatly exceeded those high expectations. The boat itself is newly renovated, fitted with luxury appliances and tech, and all with an eye for design. With 3 bedrooms, it's great for small groups and provides individual privacy when you want it. Centrally located in the heart of Amsterdam, this home provides the perfect canal-side setting that ensures you'll feel like you're living like local on your Dutch getaway. Robertino could not have been more welcoming. Check in was smooth and the place was full of breakfast treats, cold Heinekens and plenty of coffee for the espresso machine. Can't say enough good things about this place. You're lucky if it's available for the dates you're considering!

Ready to try something new but still wants the comfort and privacy you used to? Try to rent a whole B&B building by yourself, with friends or family. The location is very nearby public transports which bring you directly to the central station of Amsterdam. Within 10 minutes walking you will find a shopping area with a supermarket and different kind of coffee shops and restaurants for lunch and diner.
The building have 130m2 space and consists of 2 floors. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen, dining room, toilet, shower and the relax area with a pooltable, dartboard, computer and TV (connection with Apple tv). The kitchen includes a refrigerator and microwave. The first floor have a toilet, showerroom and 4 bedrooms with in total 10 beds (2 private bedrooms with a double king size bed and 2 room with each 2 bunk beds). WIFI is off course available.
Our building is located in a trendy industrial working and living area with shopping area, coffee shops, restaurants and public transport on walking distance.
  • This place is out of the centre of Amsterdam, but really it's a great location. You can walk to the local shops easily (local supermarkets, bars and eateries) and another 10 minutes takes you to the free ferry ( which operates very frequently) to Amsterdam's Central Station and the centre of Amsterdam beyond. Great to have the pool table which we used late into the night!

  • The accomodation is good for spending a weekend in Amsterdam. It's not a luxury accomodation, it's more fullfilling the meaning and purpose. There is only one window in the one of the upper rooms. The ground floor is a little bit dark. It is well suited for a group trip. The price-performance ratio is acceptable. Many thanks for the stay.

    David2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Location was a bit far out but knew that anyway. But a very lovely place to stay, very large and lots to do

    Richard2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very happy with the accommodation and service provided by Chi. As expected the location of the apartment is not the best. The area looks similar to an industrial estate and is not in walking distance from the centre. We decided before booking that our group would rather take taxis instead of paying for more expensive accommodation nearer the centre. I think that was a good decision as it was really easy to call an uber from the apartment - and not expensive. The apartment was excellent value for money and perfect for our group. Our group consisted of only one couple so the bed arrangements with single beds and bunks actually worked better for us than most of the other Airbnb accommodation on offer. The apartment is comfortable, has a large shared living space, with well equipped kitchen, and pool & darts for a bit of entertainment. The rest of the apartment e.g. bedrooms and bathrooms are functional. Check in and check out we're straight forward, no issues there. We paid a small premium for a late checkout. I would definitely recommend this apartment for groups on a budget who are prepared to get taxis to and from the centre.

  • Wonderful stay! Fantastic place for a weekend out in Amsterdam for a big group!

    Floris2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Super great host the house/location holds what it promises. A lot of space invites to feel like home with your friends. The communication with the host worked great and there was always a fast answer. I can not say anything negative. I can only recommend this location and iam glad to be a guest again.

    Christian2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • I really loved the apartment. Though it does not have that much windows, it appears to me very brightly and the furniture is great as well. Its great for larger groups and the price is really good! The location is about 20 mins away from the centraal station Bathroom was clean and neat. Chi prepared for us towels and breakfast which was very nice and the price is really good as well. The next time I am in Amsterdam, I d definitely book the same apartment!

  • Amsterdam is our first destination of honeymoon in Europe and we are so glad that we have made the right choice staying with Daniel and Kim!! This has become one of our best Airbnb experience ever! Super delicious breakfast and cozy room, the bed was so comfortable! Kim and Daniel have been very helpful and friendly to us, certainly our trip to Amsterdam will not be perfect without them. Will definitely recommend this place to all our friends!

  • Perfect hosts. Fixed us a delicious breakfast each morning, offered amazing ideas on places to check out and even helped with laundry due to us taking an extended trip. Couldn't have been more pleased with our choice!

    laci2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • this is pretty much the perfect Airbnb experience. Kim and Daniel were helpful, friendly and easy to talk to. Kim even gave us a ride to the ferry on our way to Paris! The room is equally excellent, with everything you could need accounted for, a beautiful terrace and a comfortable bed. very stylish, too! the stairs ain't no joke but that's par for the course in Amsterdam. I loved staying in Nord, too--very green and quiet, but conveniently located for walking the center. and last but not least, breakfast was delicious! bravo, Kim and Daniel :)

    Tori2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kim invited us into their home and showed us the lovely attic studio. This also had a small terrace, where you could sit out and have views of Amsterdam. The bed is really soft, which makes you snuggle down. Gorgeous breakfast is brought upto you as well. Kim gave us guidence on where to go. Daniel also made a restaurant reservation for us for the night we arrived which we had asked if he could do. Nothing was too much trouble and we will certainly use them again. Thanks Kim & Daniel

    Phil2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The stay with Daniel and Kim was nothing but phenomenal - a beautiful remodeled attic with a cute roof terrace, beautiful people as hosts and delicious breakfast are just a few things that made the stay great - oh and did I mention they have two cats? :-)

    Tim2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay at Kim and Daniels rooftop apartment in june 2016. Very kind people! Everything was right as the photos. And it was an easy walk from the Amsterdam central (after 3min free ferry from the backside of the station). It was really a treat with the terrace with table and chairs. And they made us a really good breakfast! Everything was clean, and equipped with all you need. Can recomend for a nice stay in Amsterdam. Gunn and Julie,Norway

    Gunn2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • They were very open to us dropping our luggage early. Both Kim and Daniel were very friendly. They allowed us to do our laundry which was great as we were leaving on a cruise the next day. It's a bit of a walk from the ferry and Daniel drove us and our luggage there in the morning. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious!

    Jean2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The best Air BnB we have ever stayed in. Kim and Daniel were fantastic hosts, they made us feel at home while providing a 5 star service. They brought us a huge breakfast every morning and even washed/ironed all our clothes. The room itself is really luxurious with a very comfy bed and beautiful shower. Only a 10 minute walk from central Amsterdam, the location was ideal and we loved taking the free ferry across. Staying with Kim and Daniel was better than staying in any hotel and we would definitely come back. Thank you Kim and Daniel for making our stay so perfect. We strongly recommend this listing.

Five bedroom accommodation comprising 2 apartments in the same building; a three bedroom and a two bedroom, each with its own kitchen and bathroom. Perfect for groups of friends wanting to stay together, the apartments are in a central location next to Nieuwmarkt and the Red Light District.
  • Location-wise you probably can't get any more central. The building is embedded into the heart of Amsterdam's vivid nightlife/red light districts with plenty of bars, coffee shops and restaurants literally seconds away. The building has multiple apartments that look and feel like they were created and furnished exclusively for AirBnB - you're not staying in someone's private apartment but rather a kind of hotel. Pro: - perfect for small groups - central location - nearby car park (10mins) - very nice staff - lounge room (smoking allowed) Cons: - you're paying for the location, while the interior is clean and tidy it's definitely furnished for durability, not coziness or higher standards. Overall a good experience!

  • Roman and Maria ensured we were comfortable throughout our entire stay. We always had the option of barbecue and every morning we were offered tea and coffee. Maria was ever so kind to drop us into the city. We did a ride on the boat around the Vinkeveseen Plassen and it was a beautiful sight to behold. We as a family are already making plans to come back and visit next year. The neighbourhood is full of lovely people and Roman and Maria were great company.

    Danhai2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Maria and Ramon are a lovely host with a warm welcome in their beautiful and cozy boat,we stayed one complete weekend there, located in so quiet and peaceful area near Amsterdam. Maria provided a pick up service to/from city by her car. Therefore we were not worry about picking up late at night. If you want they would prepare a nice breakfast. The small boat was in the middle canal and in sunny day we also had a Bout Tour by them with a reasonable price if you have a real dutch boat life experience. There was not a shower in the boat but we did it in a public one very near. There is no internet connection so you can completely rest in weekend. In general it was a unique experience, they are kind and responsible host and their best to make a memorial weekend.

    Alireza2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 21 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Brad2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We ended our bachelor party with 6 people at Maria's boat and all in all it was a bit of a disappointment for what they charge. We wanted to have a BBQ at the boat by bringing our own food, BBQ and seats, which Maria said at first was fine (weeks before we arrived) but then suddenly the day before we arrived Maria wanted to charge us 150 euros for having a BBQ. So we had to cancel it and change our plans at the last minute, only to be told that it was fine to have the BBQ for free when we checked in the next day? She also rang me up at 10pm the night before to tell me to bring a 300 euro cash deposit, which was very unsettling. There was supposed to be Wifi but there isn't any and the stove didn't work. We also couldn't park our car near the boat, we had to pay 5 euros to park down the street, which isn't noted anywhere. As we were a bachelor party the cleanliness was okay but if I had booked this as a romantic getaway I would be quite disappointed. Its a shame because the location and boat are pretty unique, there was just a lot of confusion in communication and extra unforeseen rates.

    Eric2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • They don't leave the boat just for you, Roman leave it's baggage in the boat before our arrival in order to stay the night with us. There is no bathroom (he says you can use one on other boat after 10am, we didn't stay to test) and they are only 2 rooms (the livingroom must have been counted in rooms).

    Nadja2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • I've organised a bachelor party for a friend in Amsterdam and we spent a wonderful time on Maria's and Roman's boat. We were a group of eight people and for sure it's not a five-star hotel, but quite comfy and very cool for people who want to have something special away from everyday tourism. Before our trip began I wrote a lot of messages with Maria and she answered very fast and was very flexibel in the organisation, which is a big plus for me. They are very relaxed and friendly. On top they picked us up directly at the location where we played bubble football and sent me a list of nice locations in Amsterdam. Big thanks and best wishes to Maria and Roman and I would ever do it again

    Marcel2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • we had to cancel the reservation as there was a lot not like written in the advertisement. the port was not in the center and as mentioned 15 min walk to the main train station. It was completely outside. You have to walk 30 min to a ferry and then take the ferry to the main train station (the ferry does not go from 00:00 - 04:00). There were no 3 bathrooms, there was just 1 shower and 1 toilet at the port. There are no 4 bedrooms, there are 2 bedrooms and one room is also the kitchen abd living room during the day. WLAN was only available when you go outside to the port, but not on the boat. the communication with the host before our arrival was always a bit unvlear as we didn't get answers for our questions. For the Check-in we had to walk 30 min with our luggage to where the boat was waiting. They didn't pick us up as mentioned in the advert. It all ended up in a argument and we left the boat to find another accommodation.

    Andrea2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good time at this boat for 3 nights, with 8 people was pretty crowded but still fun! Maria and Roman are very Kind and everything was Fine! Thanks to have us!

Our recently renovated guesthouse is situated in our garden, not far from the houseboat where we live in with our family. The bathroom is shared with us in the houseboat. It is a quiet place not far from town, by bike it take only 15 -20 minutes to the center. It is a wonderful combination of being in a quiet relaxing place near the river and having all the attractions of Amsterdam nearby.
It is a very nice and cosy room with a woodstove, which is private for yourself. If you want to check in before 6 pm let me know then we see if it is possible. After 10 pm also please ask, if it is possible. When you arrive at the airport after 9 pm we prefer a pick up from there for 20 euro.
Nice quiet area with trees, a beautiful park nearby called Amstelpark and of course the unique view of river Amstel where we live on. Nearby is restaurant (also for breakfast and lunch, open only till 9pm!) Thuis aan de Amstel. RAI congrescenter is nearby. Albert Cuypmarket or Museumsquare is only 15 minutes by bike. Damsquare and Central Station about 20-25 minutes.
  • I had a very lovely time at the gardenhouse of Marga and her family. There is peace and quiet. I was there on a work trip and everything was great, even though I did not spend a lot of time there as I was mostly away. This is great place to stay if you want to visit Amsterdam but don't feel like staying in the midst of a busy city. If you take a bike everything is easy to reach. The gardenhouse is quite spacious, especially when you are travelling alone. I will definitely come back here next time I need to visit Amsterdam for a couple of days!

Marga was kind enough to offer me 2 car rides during my overnight stay. No criticisms, thank you! Je passais un séjour court excellent avec Marga et sa famille. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood, next to the most famous park of Amsterdam, 10 min walking from Ann frank's house and museums, 15 min by tram from the very downtown. The apartment itself has been totally renovated in a very cosy way and beds were comfortable. Diederick and his friend have been very responsive and kind all the way along. My place is located in Amsterdam’s eldest part. The street is very quiet, yet just a 10 min. walk from Central Station and 1 min from the Dam square.
You have a room with a queen size bed and a sofa, you will also have a private bathroom (non en-suite).
  • Delighted to be connected with a very accommodating host. His apartment was not available but quickly gave us the option of staying with a friend of his, who's room and location were ideal!

Unique House for 4 couples and/or big families. BBQ in big garden There is a tram stop which is only a 2 min walk. Tram 9 takes 15 min to center & 10 min to Artis ZOO. Animal friendly house for cats & dogs. Great restaurants and parks nearby.
History Watergraafsmeer is the lowest-lying area in Amsterdam. As a polder (reclaimed land) it was first pumped dry in 1629. In the 17th and 18th centuries, wealthy Amsterdammers built estates to escape the city on weekends—only Frankendael, with its restaurant and garden, is left as a reminder of those times. In the 20th century, ‘worker villas’ like Jeruzelum and the oddly futuristic Betondorp were built without ‘church, bar or capital’. Later, Watergraafsmeer became a city focus as home to the football stadium De Meer where AFC Ajax played until 1996 (De Meer was subsequently demolished when Ajax moved to their current home, the Amsterdam ArenA). Not only did iconic footballer Johan Cruijff call Watergraafsmeer home, but also Dutch writers such as Gerard Reve and Karel van het Reve. Highlights Watergraafsmeer offers a wide range of green. Many residents have garden allotments and the area is dotted with sports fields, Amsterdam’s largest cemetery Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats (and its curious Netherlands Funeral Museum Tot Zover) and the city’s largest skating rink Jaap Edenbaan. For commuters it has the major train station Amstel, as well as easy access to the A10 ring highway.
  • We had a wonderful stay in Jacqueline's place to visit Amsterdam with the whole family. The house is just great, absolutely like described in the pictures but with a very lovely "soul" of its own, with two very distinct but charming atmospheres within the different floors. The localization is absolutely ultra convenient. The Tramway stop is actually in front of the door and puts you in 10/15 mn into the very center of Amsterdam. And don't miss the neighbouring Frankendael Park which is gorgeous (especially the numerous little week-end houses). Overall a 10/10 ... Thank you Jacqueline and friends for a warm communication and so many great tips and addresses. Gilles and family.

It is a perfect location when our on vacation with a group! you are sleeping in different rooms, but you are able to sit, eat and cook together, not like in a hotel and you have a great sundeck. The pictures are a little bit older, but it is still very nice on this houseboat!

Room in the attic of a house in Haarlem, the beautiful city between Amsterdam and coast.
In the beautiful old dutch city of Haarlem you can sleep in my attic. Haarlem is about 15 km from Amsterdam (20 minutes by train) and about 10 km from the dutch beach. The atticroom is about 12 m2. It's a cozy, friendly room for one person or if you wish I make it with an extra bed suitable for two. There is a shared bathroom. It is all clean, simple, and it's close to public transport. If you don't mind to climb up two stairs, you are welcome to stay! I do not serve a breakfast but Haarlem city (close to my place) has several places to go to. There is a wifi-connection available.
  • Joce was an absolutely lovely host. She is a warm and nice person. She waited for me to come from the city a bit later than we agreed. Upstairs she left a bottle of water, which was very much needed after what turned out to be a long-ish trip from the station (there could have been a shorter way, I just took the wrong bus). The room was exactly as it is in the pictures - very clean; had a lot of light; comfortable. The bathroom was extremely clean and had everything one would need (including space by the sink to place my toothbrush). It was a cold and rainy day, but Joce has a heater in the room that made the temperature very comfortable. The place is in a residential area, so it was very nice to see parents walking their children to school and people going to work in the morning - made one feel as part of the community. That said, one could also walk to the center of the city quite easily (about 10 minutes, I would say). Overall a great experience.

  • Joce is a great host.I lived her house for 3 days. She was so kindly, helpful and friendly. Her house is located in a very quite neighborhood and it's easy to get to the train station and city centre.

    Jie2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely overnight stay in quiet peaceful neighbourhood, very central, with very warm and welcoming host. Thanks Joce - you are exactly what an Air BnB offer should be about.

    Hen2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Joyce's place is perfect--quiet, close to the center of town ( t there when I arrived. She even left a bottle of water in the room and had a very helpful BnB-style binder of things to do and places to eat. I took her up on one of her suggestions and had a lovely meal just five minutes away. I had to ask her to print out a train ticket at the last minute and she graciously obliged. I hope to come back to Haarlem for more than a night and will definitely ask to stay with Joce again. Highest recommendation!

    Bryan2013-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jocé accepted our request really spontaneous and we were really happy with everything! Thanks a lot & all best, Maria

    Maria2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jocé is really the perfect host. Flexible, always available and helpful and a really nice person, too. I participated to a workshop in Haarlem, so I arrived in the early morning, when she was at work, but she found a way to let me in as soon as I arrived and I didn't have to wait for her to come back from work. It was fantastic! The attic you will sleep in is the one of the pictures, so you can see yourselves that is worth renting it! I will surely be back soon in Haarlem and I will definitely sleep again at Jocé's place. Highly recommended.

  • Joce was a very good host. The accommodation was clean and cozy, exactly as described. She was polite and courteous, and helped to to see some of the local scene. Haarlem is a great city to visit.

Great experience in an urban landscaping project in Amsterdam North. Enjoy peace, space and greenery in this oasis on the outskirts of the city .... The center of Amsterdam, but also the Zaan region within easy reach.
Spacious apartment especially suited for families, in a child friendly environment. The 'Amsterdam Farm Lodge' is located on the terrain of the urban farming project 'NoordOogst', a very special place on the edge of Amsterdam, just a few steps away from the hustling and bustling NDSM wharf. But also a lot to see and do on site. Sustainability is important to us, therefore we made use of recycled materials to decorate the place. The apartment has 3 bedrooms, a living, a dining room, toilet, bathroom en well equipped kitchen. Do not expect luxury, but good comfort, the basics are provided for. If needed we can provide for baby beds, baby chairs and a changing matres. Note that there is a stairs to the apartment at the first floor. The apartment is part of the Amsterdam Farm Lodge, which consists of 7 apartments in total. You can also book us for big groups.
We are on the site of an awesome urban farming project, you'll find fields with crops, pigs, chickens, a restaurant, a veggie take-away, kids daycare, woodworking, bakery, a beekeeper, a wine yard and a brewery. And plenty of space to play.

  • We had a really great stay in Jeanette’s apartment. The place is big, full of natural light and beautiful. The living room is pretty stylish with large windows and very convenient kitchen. The roof terrace is a real high point of the house, definitely it’s punch line. We loved having breakfast there a lot. Jeanette was a hospitable proprietress, easy to communicate with, friendly and helpful. Great area around, fancy boutiques, lovely small cafes. We enjoyed staying there and would definitely recommend this place.

    Diana2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Overall the place is great, they're new to hosting so I can see how a few things fell through the cracks. The biggest issue for us was there was only one shower in the house, we were expecting two as per what was advertised. Also be careful on the steps to the roof, I fell down the staircase due to a tiny bit of moisture on the steps. The house is very very nice, and the location is incredible. Once they finish the 2nd bathroom and the street construction is completed it will be a perfect house. Until then just make sure you are very clear on what to expect. 5 people sharing one shower is tough.

  • We were a group of 19 people and we had a wonderful time on the ship. Very comfortable beds and enough space for us all. Joost was very welcoming and helpful. We had a really brilliant wknd.

    Rosie2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted by one of Joosts colleagues who was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were a large group and were bouncing between numbers up to the day of the trip. Nothing was too tricky, be it dealing with our fluctuating numbers, providing the thirsty Brits with beer (the ship has a beer tap... a fantastic addition may I add). There were also some very interesting stories about the vessel and its history. I have been told that one can take the boat our over the summer as well and sail her. This will be happening at some point as an avid sailor. Transport into town is a piece of cake with an easy tram to the night life or a short bus to central station. Ideal!! If your looking to accommodate a big group in Amsterdam there is no where else to go (believe me I have searched for ages). Get involved and hop on board the ISIS. Its one of the best weekends I have ever had.

Where the soft beds ensure a good night sleep, the romantic and colourful design give a romantic feeling. This combination is a good start to your holiday. The apartments are provided with 2 bedrooms with 6 comfortable “boxspring” hotel beds, good floor heating, a comfortable bathroom, an open kitchen, facilities for infants/ children and darkening curtains. • We really enjoyed our stay in Ellen´s house. The situation close to the canal was perfect to have a walk or to take the free bykes available and enjoy the countryside. The location is also perfect to visit Amsterdam, Utrech, Harleem and many cities in the area Ellen and her husband were really helpfull , giving us advice to visit the area, printing our boarding passes or installing an extra bed. Everything perfect . I really recommend the house.

Ellen also sorted us out a taxi to our festival which saved us a lot of money! The apartment was very nice and spacious, I 100% would recommend!

  • Great place. We stayed in a big two-floor house which we had all to ourselves. There's a great kitchen, the beds were comfortable and the two showers were enough for the 10 of us. The host is very friendly and even offered us her car to go shopping for food as well as give us a lift when we left. Price-wise it was also really nice seeing as anything else we found was atleast twice the price. Only bad part was the location. There's a 3 km walk to the bus stop and a 1 hour bus ride to get to amsterdam proper. Luckily we only did that trip twice a day. There's nightbuses aswell. All in all a great place to stay if you're young and on a budget.

  • We booked one of the apartments in the farm during end of July. We came With our 3 children age 6 year ,4 year and 1year old. They had the best time. Could live in a real farm and had the wonderful experience of finding the docks milking the cows etc. The apartment is fully equipped. Need to bring towels or rent them from the owners. The place is wonderful and close to the airport, Amsterdam and an hour ride from other touristic places. We met wonderful people who also stayed in the farm with children and it was fun and exiting for the kids and Us. We recommend!! Nice people nice place good hosts.

  • We stayed for one night at this gorgeous location. It is easy to find by car and bus- and tram-station aren't far away. Nevertheless it is located in a very calm area. The houseboat looks brandnew and was very clean. Very friendly hosts! We hope, we will be able to return to this nice place and have a longer stay!

    Carmen2013-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as described. It's in a wonderful neighbourhood away from the bustling crowd. Bikes are essential if you want to explore the city so that makes this houseboat a bonus. We had some tire issues with two of the bikes but Harry was very quick to respond. We had a great time in Amsterdam and would recommend the houseboat as a great option. One of the bonuses of the place was being near the Olympic training centre that happens to be in a forest close to the houseboat. We went there in evening and morning for workouts and to enjoy the scenery.

    Louise2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing break in this gorgeous Houseboat.. The bicycles were amazing too..we went all around the nearby park! Easy to get to, just grab a 16 or 24 tram and it's then a quick 5 minute walk to the houseboat. Would highly recommend it. Comfortable beds & gorgeous bathroom! I would definitely go back.

Amazing place, truly unique. Host very helpful. A bit of a walk to the city centre but nice and out the way of the carnage of Amsterdam.

Melody's place was such a lovely stay in Amsterdam! Andreas was also helpful enough to get our bags upstairs when we checked in. Thank you very much for having us, Melody and Andreas!
