Welcome to our renovated, log cottage with big, bright windows and breathtaking views to our 2 acres of forest and 400+ feet of private, clear and clean water frontage plus a wood fired sauna! Watch the deer wander by from the window - magic! The cabin is one bedroom with a double and two singles, and the sleeping sofa in the living room.
A Cottage Retreat on Classic Canadian Lake Welcome to our renovated, log cottage with big, bright windows and breathtaking views to our private waterfront and forested, rolling hills on a 2 acre property with 400+ feet of private, clear and clean water frontage, lots of boats (canoe, kayaks, paddle boat, wind surfer) with a wood fired stove, wood fired outdoor sauna and an outdoor fire pit. Our retreat is a cabin nestled in a forest, on an aquifer-fed lake with crystal clear lake and pristine shores. Deer, beaver, loons, birds, owls and blue herons visit our property daily, In Spring, Summer and Fall.... We have waterfront docks, a floating raft, and huge rock fire-pit along the water. A canoe and paddle boat are there for those who want to explore the lake. This lake is even stocked with trout for those who want to take a rod with them. We have an outdoor shower for the three seasons except winter. Inside the Western Cedar Log Cabin: Ralph Lauren style decor in a 16'x24' cedar log building with loft ceilings, exposed beams and exposed log walls throughout. Open-concept cooking and living area, wood stove, surround sound and flat screen and dvd player. Firm mattresses, pillows and duvets assure a great night's sleep. The kitchen is equipped for people who like to cook. Good knives, copper bottom pots, crock pot, sandwich/waffle grill, gas bbq - you name it, we have it! Cellular service is very good the lake. You can tether your phone to a laptop to work up there. The sleeping options are good for one or two couples or one couple with children. One bedroom with one double and single bunk beds; living room seating converts to a queen bed. There's a huge clawfoot tub in the bathroom and beautiful views from all the windows. Deer hang out on the property throughout the year. During all seasons except winter, our outside hot shower is one of our guests favourite features. Imagine taking a hot shower after a hot sauna or long hike, while watching the birds fly by! In the winter - it's the wood fired sauna and buckets of water or snow to cool down inside the sauna; or just roll around in the snow outside - you will amazed how warm you feel after heating up in the sauna. The cabin is on Wenona Lake, near Loon Lake - a 15 min drive from Village of Haliburton with all amenities including spas, groceries and liquor stores, restaurants, shops, bookstores. Many artist studios are in the area. Mountain biking at Sir Sam's resort, Haliburton Forest for tree top and ground hikes in the region. Note: We do not generally encourage pets but will handle these requests on a case-by-case basis.
The cabin is 18 minutes from a town (Haliburton Village) which has all amenities, shops, banks, hospital, restaurants etc. Yes the cabin is quiet and private on a large property with lots of trees, hills and shoreline. In this cottage area you will find a blend of outdoor sport and art culture. The Haliburton School of Fine Arts attracts artists from all over the world to learn and then settle here. The natural environment attracts outdoor enthusiasts - hiking, fishing, white water kayaking, boating.
  • Wonderful, cozy cottage perfect for a winter/snowy getaway. The fireplace inside the cabin made an already quaint cottage that much much charming. The views of the lake are fantastic and the hiking trails - even in snow - were beautiful. The sauna provided an additional perk after a chilly walk. Overall, a very serene experience. We will definitely be coming again!

  • Susan was a great host - answered all texts/emails promptly while we were there. Her place is very clean and comfortable, and the surrounding trees and lake are beautiful. It was perfect for myself and my two kids. They loved the swings, and it gave me a bit of me-time while they played outside! We went for some great cross-country skiing nearby at Glebe Park (there were some trail maps at the cottage, which was very helpful!). The sauna was a bonus, and made the trip especially feel like a getaway for me. I would definitely love to come back.

  • Great interior that made us feel like home. The manual was excellent and very well laid out. The neighborhood was tranquil and peacful

  • Beautiful, secluded, quiet, lovely cabin. I enjoyed my time here very much. Make sure to read the cabin house rules before coming so you are prepared for your weekend.

  • We loved this cottage! I stayed there over a 4-day long weekend with my 76-year old parents and my 18-year old daughter and we absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Susan's cottage is surprisingly spacious and exceptionally well equipped with everything you may need during your stay - from basic kitchen and bathroom supplies, to all the kitchen equipment you may need or want, to flash-lights, water toys, etc. There was absolutely nothing we needed or wanted that wasn't available. Beds were very comfy, indoor bathroom perfectly functional (with clear and well placed instructions on how to use it), outdoor showers perfect with hot water and all, . . . We loved and used the cabana all the time! For big breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and late night games. Before booking the place i worried a bit about the path to the lake (given that I was coming with my elderly parents), but in the end - there was no reason for any kind of worry and my parents had no problem going up and down several times a day. Now - the lake! Lake Wenona is absolutely stunning - clear, warm, calm. We spent hours on the dock sun bathing and swimming - all 4 of us. Communicating with Susan (the host) was beyond easy and quick. She was quick to reply to all my initial emails and - once we connected with phone numbers - to all my texts. I contacted her a few times during our stay to ask questions and/or confirm things and she always replied quickly and thoroughly. If I had an advice for any future visitors, it would be to read the house manual carefully (these are the instructions you receive once you book the place - and they are packed with useful and needed information ) and to - simply enjoy yourself and have fun!

  • This place was amazing. Even though it rained during the main day that we were there, we still managed to take advantage of the grill and the ambiance of being in the wilderness. Susan was super and very understanding when I had to initially alter plans. Great little retreat away from the city!

    Liang2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had been eagerly waiting for our trip to Haliburton and Susan log cabin did not disappoint. It was a picturesque setting away from the hustle and bustle of other tourist destinations. The cabin is amazing and we would love to return in the colder months to make use of the sauna and stove which i'm sure would add even more. We were doing a lot of hiking during our stay and while Haliburton has a lot of trails (all the information is provided by Susan in the cabin) we ventured up to Algonquin Park at sunrise to get in some trails up the a 90 min scenic drive and we were there. The canoe and the lake were amazing for relaxing with and the quietness of the lake added to the serenity. An amazing PLACE.

  • We arrived late friday evening and had to wait until the morning to really appreciate all the beauty this cozy little place has to offer. The cottage is cozy and cute with a beautiful gazeboo area. We did manage to find the fire pit down the hill and scrummaged through the wooded area to enjoy a fire on the first night. In the morning we got to explore all the grounds and enjoy all this place has to offer. Most of our time was spend sitting on the dock which we untied to float out a little from shore. What a beautiful and relaxing way to spend a day!! Overall our weekend was very peaceful and enjoyable and we did not want to leave. A side note for future travellers to this spot.....there are flood lights near the gazebo which will light up the hill for your walk up and down in the evening. We did not discover this until the day we were leaving which was no big deal, just a handy tip. GREAT little spot!! Thanks Susan!!

  • We absolutely loved the cottage of Kris and Elena, and we had a great time while staying in the Moose Room. The area around is beautiful and calm and from the room you get a great view on the lake. Check-in was easy with a lovely Welcome by Kris and Elena. In the morning Elena made coffee and even a little breakfast for us. They both are absolutely friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them. This AirBnB is highly recommended and we would love to come back anytime soon! Jessica & Stefan

    Jessica2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of my best AirBnB experience. Kris and Elena were super friendly and hospitable. They made sure we knew our way to their cottage, and took time to explain all the features and amenities of the place. They were also generous in letting us use their kitchen upstairs. The cottage is very cozy, and has a lakeside view that will totally take your breath away.

    Cedric2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Elena are amazing guys and their hospitality is incomparable. The place was much better than we expected. Have all the required facilities, very clean, beautiful scenic view and a great place to hang out. Kris and Elena are very friendly and helped us in a lot of ways. We would love to visit again and have a jolly time at this place. Definitely a place "Once Discovered, Never Forgotten".

    Pallav2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Great people, great house, feeling home everywhere. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable, with a separate entrance which guarantees the privacy. Lovely chairs besides the lake. And we enjoy talking to Kris and Elena.

    Ling2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Kris and Elena’s lakefront cottage. The room was very cozy, with a fireplace and the place was very clean with a great view. Its a short drive to Algonquin parks which is what we were looking for.

    Victoria2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Elena were very thoughtful hosts (even baked us cookies in the morning). The cottage is beautiful and in a quiet, scenic location. Spent the weekend exploring Algonquin Park which is less than an hour drive away!

    Chelsea2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish basement accommodations in a house finished to a very high standard. This was very smart and luxury stop for us, the owners have a high quality apartment which was very warm and high tech. The position of the apartment is amazing, brilliant views of the lakes, with its own private beach. After 2 weeks in huts in the woods this was a real treat and Kris and Elena were happy to help with anything we needed.

  • Amazing cottage surrounded by birds and other wildlife, easy to reach with directions but need a car to get around. Lixin was very helpful and gave us a thorough guide of the cottage before leaving us to our freedom. The canoes, kayak and other extras are also a nice touch and are free to use on the lake at the end of the garden. All in all a great stay for amazing value! :)

    Henry2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a restful stay in this well maintained easy to find cottage. Everything we needed and more was included. The location is beautiful. There is no need for wi fi with the nice view of the lake out the front. The cottage was comfortable during some cool Fall weather. We would love to come again.

    Robert2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The host is great and very friendly! Responded very quickly to all my inquiries and provided detailed information on direction, what to look out for and what to do around the area way in advance, so we can plan the trip perfectly. The cottage is well maintained and the location is amazing. The host provided all sorts of amenities for a very enjoyable stay (variety of water toys, fishing gears, and even provided material for bonfire on request). And in addition, the place is very close to Algonquin park, so you can visit the park any time as well. Highly recommended!!

    Marvin2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really quiet chalet, cosy, perfect if you love nature and animals! The lake shore is just a few feet away!

    Quittrie2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We are the first AirBnB guests to stay at this beautiful cottage. What a nice surprise! The owner is super nice and welcoming. He waited for us to arrive and took the time to show us around the cottage. Everything is neat and clean and we have everything we need to prepare a nice dinner while watching the sunset over the Oxtongue Lake from the living room. There is no wifi on the property but the cell signal is really good so we can access internet on our cell phones. The cottage's location is great. It is on a really beautiful and quiet road and is probably the closest you can get to the West Gate of Algonquin Park. However, we didn't even had to get into the park to enjoy the time. We paddled the canoes from the cottage dock up the Oxtongue River all the way to Ragged Falls for a nice afternoon trip before retreating back to the cottage's expansive deck for an afternoon tea with friends. The view from the house can't be beaten. All in all a great stay and look forward to going back in the future.

  • My friends and I fell in love with this cottage the moment we arrived. It's a very spacious place with all of the amenities that you'll need (loved the kitchen appliances). Every room has a great view of the trees and lake, which is a huge plus waking up early in the mornings. The lake is calm so it's perfect for swimming or taking the kayak out. Sathi was one of the best hosts that we had; he called us before and after the trip to ensure that our check-in and entire stay went as smoothly and comfortably as possible. If you're looking for a cottage to escape the city, this is the place to go!

    Carmine2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and nice house, spacious. About exactly what we were looking for, but bring your own towels and coffee ;)

    Arnaud2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect way to escape the city for a weekend! My friends and I had a lovely stay. The cottage is immaculate, spacious, secluded and the water is warm and calm. Sathi is a great host and we plan on returning in the fall!

    Lauren2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sathi’s cottage was a new build, modern, comfortable and everything was great. Had a great time with the family and friends. Sathi was easy to get in touch with and helped us with any questions we had. Thanks!

  • Great place for a family. Nice and quiet area. Spacious and well thought of. The dock has a gorgeous view. There are 2 kayaks provided. My family and I had an amazing time and hope to be back soon. Definitly recommend coming here, its worth the drive!

    hadil2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • I found this location is a little tough because (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map location is not really same as home address. When we enter the room, the cell phone can't receive the signal and no WIFI in the cottage. But the house is really good and cleanliness ,the most kitchen equipment and tableware are provided(pots and plates). That's really good. It's a good experience to away from the city.

    Rex2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to attractions, host was very nice and reply quickly. Fair warning, the place is walled with metal, as soon you walk inside all cellular signal is blocked. To access phone service and/or internet you need to walk outside. And this was proven troubling on rainy days, with better weather one should be able to enjoy it more. All in all good place for a weekend.

  • Marc and Heathers home is one of a kind! Can't wait to visit again soon!

    Tyson2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Feb,2017 - Was very very pleased with the stay. Fully equipped cottage with all the amenities needed. The view, the lake, the peace and quiet - Nothing short of amazing!I stayed in... To enjoy the cottage. The others in the group went to Sir Sams and other winter activities. The only draw back in the winter is defnly Watts Road. Hard drive, got stuck on our way back home. My friends hatchback with winter tires had to be towed. :( ... I will highly recommend this for all the others seasons.

    Thara2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! We rented Marc's place for a skidoo trip at Halliburton Forrest. It was amazing. Marc's place is minutes away from where we rented the skidoos, as well as access to the trails. The home was well appointed, super cozy, and very peaceful. Marc as a host was great to deal with. Replied immediately to our questions and was very considerate. Would absolutely stay here again.

    Christopher2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Marc's cottage with our older kids over New Years, we had a fantastic time! The listing was exactly as described and the views and scenery were breathtaking! We spent a lot of time outdoors walking in the winding roads and just taking in the views, it was beautiful. The cottage was super clean and well equipped, everything we needed was there, it had all the comforts of home. Marc was super responsive, and helpful. We really enjoyed our time all together. It was great family time, playing board games, cooking together, and family movies. A mini vacation with memories we will have a lifetime. My only caution is you have small children this is not the house for you, the house is situated in the trees on a cliff with 155 steps to the water, I was nervous even with our 12 year old. The steps were a great workout though ( well constructed with hand railings the entire way) and well worth the visit to the waters edge, again the most stunning scenery.

    Danielle & Ralph2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Marc's place and the location are beautiful. We spent most of the tranquil hours on the dock and the deck which provides a spectacular view of the lake. His place is exactly as advertised and Marc is incredibly accessible for any questions that would arise. Highly recommend the rental and surrounding area.

  • This place is a dream come true.

  • Hollow River is a piece of paradise. The pictures simply don't do it justice. Not only was it clean, well equipped, modern, and beautifully decorated, it provided a lovely, safe environment (shallow river) in which to enjoy the water and views. There are multiple sitting areas, both in and outside, and every modern convenience. We had a bit of a rainy week, but could still enjoy the expansive view out of the cathedral windows. We enjoyed hiking the trails around the Dorset tower, as well as Ragged Falls on the tip of Algonquin Park. PFDs, boats, two docks, two fire pits, a hammock, and a host of other outdoor amusements rounded out the comprehensive amenities. Robinson's Foodland is a 5 min drive, and some of the best pizza this side of Italy can be found also 5 minutes away at Pizza on Earth. (Also fresh hot scones, bagels, and baked goods in the morning.) Shireen was a wonderful welcoming host who responded quickly with any questions. We wanted for nothing and can't wait to go back.

  • Shireen was accommodating and easy to get in touch with. The cottage was perfect for our group! Very clean and well appointed. We loved the cozy wood stove and the open concept great room overlooking the waterfront. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby and shops are a short drive away. I highly recommend this cottage to others!

  • All I can say is... WOW! This cottage was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment I pulled up into the driveway, I was impressed. Pictures just don't do this cottage justice! I felt very welcome and safe in this home. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and nature-ful get-away, then this is the place for you and your friends/family. Shireen was a very respectful, accommodating and helpful host; the best host I have come across on Airbnb. I would book this place again in a heart beat.

    Aleks2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Shireen's cottage on Hallow River was an amazing time. The cottage itself is beautifully designed with big, open features that made us feel at home right away. The outdoors space and river made for fun days on the dock and great evenings around the fire pit. There is so much to do there that you will never get bored. I highly recommend escaping up there any chance you get.

  • We had a brilliant long weekend at the very comfortable Lake House, a fantastic house on this perfect lake. It had all the amenities you could wish for and when we had a plumbing issue it was fixed immediately through the incredibly helpful Terri. The new dock allowed us hours of fun on the watercraft and there was plenty of space for our 2 families to spread out. We will definitely be back to see the cottage in other seasons! Thanks so much to Kersti & Terri.

  • This is a lovely space and was just what we wanted. We were there in winter and there were lots of nordic ski areas within about an hour's drive. It is very well equipped and would be great for two families or bigger groups. It turned out that there were four of us instead of six, and it was bigger than we needed. The pictures are accurate, with the central open space as big as it looks. The host and her assistant were great at responding quickly and helping out with minor issues. One problem for us was that we didn't have cell network coverage at the cabin, but others did (With FIDO and Shaw extended.)

  • We had a very enjoyable stay at the Kawagama Lake House. The house was extremely spacious for our group to spread out and have a comfortable stay. It rained the Saturday we were there but the house was equipped with a lot of board games that we all played. On Sunday the sun came out and we were able to take the 3 kayaks provided out onto the lake. The kitchen & pantry were stocked with everything we required and the host was extremely welcoming and understanding. We will definitely be booking through Kersti again for another stay at her picturesque house in the beautiful Algonquin Highlands.

  • We were a group of 7 and we had so much room to spare, relax and play games! The place is beautiful and the views and surrounding areas are beautiful. We will definitely be back!!!

  • It's a gorgeous house, the lake is amazing and there's lots of space for large groups of friends and family. We'll definiety come back!

  • Kersti's cottage was gorgeous and well equipped. Lots of room and a beautiful walk out dock with crystal blue water. There is a great fire pit fwith a gorgeous view of the lake. We were there for 7 days and with 9 people at most at one time the cottage offered more than enough room. Teri was available for any issues although there was nothing major to be concerned about. We will definitely be back!

Come stay at a beautiful log cottage situated on West Shore of Kennisis Lake, near Haliburton. You have full access to the entire cottage. We have extensive deck space, a green egg BBQ, a hot tub, a fire pit, a pool table, kayaks, a canoe and a hammock, all for your enjoyment. Our closest grocery store and LCBO is in West Guilford (20 minutes drive). Note, our water front is quite deep. It may not be suitable for young children.
  • We had a wonderful time here with our closest friends. The place is secluded with lots of socialising space, direct access to the lake, and was perfect for our group of adults with a couple of toddlers. Great value!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tina's cottage! The pictures certainly do not do this place enough justice. This cottage provides you with everything you might be looking for - stunning lakefront view, lots of space and on-site amenities that are well-kept and maintained (kayaks, canoes, fire pits, multiple BBQ's, pool table, and a hot tub). Tina was also a wonderful host - very quick to reply to any e-mails! I would recommend staying at this cottage and would definitely return.

  • 10/10, interior: very clean property + very nice interior design= very home comfortable relaxing feeling. exterior: big property, lake view is pretty , lake is clean, we went stargazing on the dock. trail is excellent for morning joggers. host: very organized host, very friendly, quick response . highly recommend, will come back again

    Emma2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything that Tina had listed in the welcome package was 100% accurate. My brother and I with a couple friends do an annual cottage trip - this was with out doubt the best experience. everything that Tina has in her cottage is at the top level and a lot of fun. The only trouble we experienced was the TV and sound (kept turning off and on). The smoker for BBQ was incredible and easy to use. The way everything was laid out really demonstrates Tina's amazing hospitality. 10/10 will go back again.

  • Rhonda and Stuarts place is so warm and cozy. The lake was beautiful and so quiet. Rhonda is a wonderful host, so accommodating. I will definitely be going back.

  • Rhonda and Stuart's Guest Cabin is exactly like the pictures and more. Rhonda and Stuart were very helpful and welcoming which makes the stay very comfortable. The lake view in morning and a sky full of star at night were magical. We had fun borrowing their kayak out on the lake and just dipping into the water with our dogs! We also get to hangout with Lucy, Toby and their puppy Piper! It was super nice to meet all of them and we cant wait to come back!

    Ring2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda and Stuart are amazing hosts! We felt at home while staying in the cabin, even asked if we needed anything while they went into town to shop! Location was amazing, how can you beat waking up to the view. We had Stuart's guarantee while fishing off the dock and sure enough all 4 of us pulled in a little Rock Bass! Great time and cannot wait to return another day!

  • Just an all around fantastic place to stay! Located in a gorgeous area, we lucked out with some beautiful fall weather. The property is great and the house is nice and cozy. We made great use of the fire pit, canoe, hot tub, and had a blast playing with the pups! Rhonda was extremely responsive to any inquiries and provided me with tons of information about the area and things to do! Would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance!

    Mitchell2017-10-22T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to stay on beautiful Kennisis Lake. Traveled here from the US for a skijoring race at Haliburton Forest, which is a 100,000 acre park that is literally across the street from this cottage. You have to drive 15 minutes to get to the visitor center, but if you're just hopping on the trail system it is right outside your door. And then on the other side of your cottage is the amazing lake. It was winter, so we didn't get out on it during our stay but it looks to be a great place for solitude or family fishing and boating. The small cottage itself was WAY more than I was expecting... the big comfy bed, spacious living area, and luxurious shower were all great after long days of racing. On top of all of this, Rhonda and her husband, Stuart, along with their pup, Lucy, were all so welcoming and fun to get to know. We first met them when they rescued us and our little car from the wrong driveway that I drove down and got stuck in (turns out there can be a lot of snow and ice up there). Talk about going above and beyond! Over our four days there we had a chance to learn about their family and what friendly people they are. It was a unexpected treat and a great bonus to our trip. I'd highly recommend staying here for the natural beauty all around, the comfortable lodging, and the amazing hosts.

  • This was our first trip with our young dog and Wally and Lorrie were wonderfully accepting of the big goofball. There was a power outage before we arrived due to some bad weather, but Lorrie and Wally were very fair and communicative with us about it beforehand, and travelled to meet us there to go over some technical instructions for the generator etc. They had clearly worked very hard to make arrangements for the cottage to still be comfortable for our stay. Unfortunately, due to the power-outage and the fact that we booked early in the season, we weren't able to take full advantage of the amenities (hot tub, boat, etc.) but the cottage still had lots to keep us entertained! A really lovely spot that I would highly recommend!

    Sarah2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Walter & Lorrie are AirBnb pros! We have stayed at a number of places now and they by far exceed the competition in creating a space that has all the conveniences of a great hotel but within a cozy cottage atmosphere. Highly recommend this cottage! We will most certainly return!

    Christopher2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin completely exceeded our expectations! It was roomy enough for the 4 of us, and it was completely stocked with toiletries, a welcome kit, instructions, really fast wifi and even netflix. The docks right on the water are incredible, I wish we had nicer weather to enjoy that more, but we did get to relax in the hot tub. The location is remote but easy to find and the roads are well-maintained. Walter and Lorrie were great about emailing us back immediately if we had questions and sent us photos and suggestions of things to do over the weekend. I would note that the bathroom is between the 2 bedrooms and only accessible through the bedrooms, so keep this in mind if you are planning to have anyone sleep out in the living room. For 4 people or a family, it's perfect, and we would definitely stay here again.

    Livia2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Walter and Lorrie are very friendly and are eager to please their guests, you can tell because EVERYTHING a family cottage should have is there and is well thought of. We really enjoyed a lot of things but the best was the hot tub beside the lake. Bliss!

    Sam2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here. Walter & Lorrie were excellent hosts, any questions we had were answered right away, super helpful. The photos do not do the place justice. Stunning views, especially from the hot tub. Comfy beds, the place was very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

  • Visited for a weekend in June and loved it so much we had to share it with my parents. It was a beautiful fall weekend on the lake. :)

    Christopher2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Your cottage is cute with everything one needs. Really thoughtful to have some toiletries and the welcome box. It was all greatly appreciated. The site is great and we really enjoyed it. Thanks Wally for showing us the in's and outs too.

    Stephen2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just what a cottage should be. Homey, cozy, wood lined interior, on a beautiful lake with clear water and rocks. The cottage itself was very clean, well equipped and Walter and Lorrie left a very thoughtful welcome package, including treats for our dog :) We enjoyed the view, cooking on the BBQ and taking a dip in the hot tub overlooking the lake. The bed was comfortable on my sore back, which I appreciated. Walter and Lorrie responded immediately to any questions and the cottage was just as pictured. We would definitely stay here again- and hopefully longer next time!

There's a lot to do, like- fishing, hiking, BBQ, relaxing inside, by the water or even a bonfire, hiking and much more. You will leave very relaxed and happy. • Gorgeous house, location and views. Really enjoyed kayaking on the stunning lake which is right on the doorstep and complimentary kayaks were great. Extremely clean and homely and suitable for a group or family. Only downsides would be the lack of information prior to arrival regarding the need to bring your own bedding and toilet paper. The extremely stringent cleaning rules also made it a bit hard to relax but we treated this property like it was our own!

    Heather2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend at Laura's cottage! It is absolutely beautiful, and exceeds expectations. Laura rightfully named it the 'million dollar view'! The cottage was very clean, and had so many amenities that made our stay worthwhile. We were able to make use of her barbecue, the wifi, her firepit, and most importantly the canoes and kayaks she provides! We could not have asked for a better weekend, and Laura was such a gracious host! We are already planning our next trip back!

    Shagithya2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Easy communication with Laura, beautiful cottage, and plenty of room on the dock for a 21ft boat and two seadoos that we brought up. If anyone else takes a boat up with them I would recommend using the launch at the marina.

  • Check in was easy. Cottage is remote, 5 min walk from the lake, half hour to Dorset and an hourish away from Algonquin park. Newly renovated, great deck for a bbq, outdoor fire pit with wood stumps for seats. The shower has a window looking out on the forest I loved (yes there is a curtain). We loved our stay and hope to be back in the future.

  • We loved that this place was secluded. But 5 mins near Bear Lake to put the canoe in. The cottage is really new, modern, tidy, and had everything we needed. No Wi-Fi here. But that's what we all needed - disconnect and reconnect with eachother! 45 mins from Algonquin Park and 20 mins from the adorable town of Dorset. Dustin (host) was awesome with communication and responded quickly when we had questions. I would stay here again next time I come up to explore Algonquin Park (West).

  • My significant other and I had the most wonderful stay in Vera and Gary's cozy little cabin. If you need a break from your busy lifestyle this cabin is the perfect place to disconnect and relax! Would highly recommend to everyone!

    Ben2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The moment we saw the cabin we were stunned by how cute and cozy it was. It was much larger than I expected. Vera was a wonderful host, she encouraged us to explore the lake and there was even a fire started in when we arrived. It rained for much of the time we were there but the cabin was stocked with puzzles, board games and was very cuddly. Private, cozy, and beautiful. We had a great time.

    Carly2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place - perfect for a romantic getaway! The cabin was tastefully and very functionally appointed. You'd be in danger of never leaving it for the duration of your stay if the lake wasn't so beautiful and refreshing. The hosts are delightful. We really liked the outdoor showers - plenty of hot water and wonderful sounds from the surrounding forest.

    Maciej2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical! Very generous hosts. Stunning property. Kayaks and canoes for your enjoyment. Lake is calm for easy paddling. Cabin is super cozy. Really great people!

  • Quiet, beautiful cabin directly at pleasantly remote Fletcher Lake. A perfect place to enjoy silence and to relax. Vera and Gary put so much love and thought into furnishings and equipment, you won't miss anything. They're just really nice, cooperative and obliging people. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

    Sebastian2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! As others have mentioned here, the cabin has everything you need and more. A lot of details and surprising that so much necessities fit inside! The outdoor shower was fun. The hosts cottage is next door but it didn't bother our stay whatsoever (only met Vera when we got there to show us around and saw Gary once in his garden) and was nice to know a land line was available if we needed it. Canoes, kayaks, life jackets, noodles, fire pit, lake side - their cabin description was accurate. Thank you for sharing your special cabin on airbnb! :)

Little cottage 40 ft from the lake on a calm bay. Kawagama Lake is one of the deepest and largest lakes in Haliburton Highlands with shallow bats great for swimming. The cottage is a 15 min drive to Dorset, fantastic fishing, great canoeing and warm swimming. The cottage has an amazing deck, BBQ and string lights to give you some amazing evenings outside. The cottage itself is small but the property has lots of space for tents and a great bonfire pit. A long table that seats 6 comfortably and a living room with two wing chairs and a sofa. All of your kitchen tools supplied as well.
We have family on both sides of the bay and everyone around us gets along great. There are often large parties on the bay with live bands and potlucks and everyone is welcome.
  • Natalie's place absolutely exceeded our expectations. It truly was picture perfect, inside and out. The interior is stunning (which is an understatement - Natalie clearly has an incredible eye for design!). We arrived to a lovely welcome package and notes about the cottage/surrounding area (thanks for the tip about The General Store - we loved it!!). The cottage was extremely clean and neat. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The cottage has two bedrooms + a pullout couch in a separate sunroom with a door which allows privacy from the rest of the cottage. It's basically a 3rd bedroom and makes for a beautiful view to wake up to in the morning - surrounded by windows makes it feel like you’re sleeping in the forest. We enjoyed grilling all our meals on the BBQ (big enough to feed 6). The cottage has that cozy cabin feel, without feeling squished. The six of us fit comfortably around the kitchen table and in the living room. We spent our rainy day enjoying a variety of board games provided and listened to some great tunes…the rerecord player was a great surprise! We enjoyed sitting on the spacious patio and the dock during the day, and sat around the fire pit in the back at night. We were up on the May Long weekend and were lucky enough to witness the incredible community around the lake - someone lit fireworks and cheering could be heard from around the lake! Natalie was quick to answer any questions we had and was very helpful! We really felt welcomed and at home in her beautiful space. We are also very thankful that we could bring our dog with us. He ran continuous laps around the cottage, happy as can be. The sunroom would be the perfect place for a dog if he got too messy (this wasn’t really an issue for us - the yard was well kept and not messy at all - but great to have). Overall, we could not think of a better way to start our summer. Even the May Long weekend black flies won't keep us away, we'll be back next year. We love this place and highly recommend! Thanks so much Natalie! Ps. Excellent mug collection!

  • Quiet, rustic and secluded, the Rosemac Little Lodge was the perfect getaway! While staying at the Rosemac in June 2017, we were pleasantly surprised to see it outfitted with an updated décor and all the amenities we could ask for. This little cottage came fully stocked with what we needed to cook, sleep and let loose. From the get go it was clear how much time, thought and passion Natalie put into the Rosemac to ensure it was the perfect oasis for its guests. The personal touches and local suggestions really added to our trip (get the ice cream in nearby Dorset). A big beautiful deck, long table, private dock and open fire pit made sure that our experience outdoors was just as comfortable as it was indoors. Combined with the calm lake and provided canoe, we had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the weather. Would go back for sure + I highly recommend!

  • Amazing cottage! I brought my mother and sister along and we couldn't have asked for a better location for our girl's weekend. The cottage exceeded our expectations, from the cozy decor to the personalized touches, Natalie has thought of everything to make her guests feel at home. There is lots of space in the cottage to accommodate guests comfortably and any amenity we required was provided. Luckily, we had great weather so we were able to enjoy swimming in the lake and lounging on the dock. We especially loved eating meals under the string lights and enjoying a campfire toward the back of property. Check-in and check-out was smooth, the cottage was easy to find and just minutes away from cute Dorset. It was also a huge plus that this listing is pet-friendly, as we didn't want to leave our Golden Retriever behind! Can't say enough positive things about the Rosemac. Would absolutely recommend!

    Jessica2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was in very good order when we arrived. It was well equipped and in a beautiful setting. Bbq and the outdoor dining table were a plus. We highly recommend staying here.

  • We want to share the Canadian cottage experience with my danish Sister and her family, we got that and even more staying at the Rosemac, its perfectly renovated, the deck is massive with a beautiful lake view. Our 3 boys 1, 5 and 7 year old had a great time fishing, swimming and playing games. Natalie was awesome, all communication was polite and very clear. We would love to come back.

    Lasse2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our stay at the Rosemac. This little cottage is a gem and a do not miss destination. It is quaint, cozy, clean and tastefully decorated. The beds are very comfortable. The espresso machine is a bonus - bring your own espresso though as we couldn't find any in the local general store. We made use of the quality Langford canoe on the lake. It was a blast. The fire pit is great - wood is available at the general store. Algonquin is nearby for day hikes. Any issues were promptly addressed by Natalie who is easy to communicate with. We loved our stay and will be back!

    kaylin2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Rosemac is absolutely dreamy. We planned a girls weekend at Natalie's cottage - and it was even more adorable and lovely than the photos (which are already gorgeous to begin with). The beds are comfy - there is tons of eating / gathering space - everything is new and fully functional - but still has tons and tons of charm. Natalie was a fabulous host, with branded welcome packages - lots of notes for the surrounding areas - and was incredibly helpful in our very serious hunt for the cork screw upon arrival :) Definitely a must book! Thanks again Natalie!

  • Our stay at Lynne's cabin on Raven Lake was truly outstanding. The cabin is very well equipped and thoughtfully designed, Lynne is an impeccable hostess (offering boat rides, delicious breakfasts and great advice for the area) and the location is great for visiting Algonquin park or staying on the lake and enjoying the fabulous view and quiet of the surroundings.

    Arthur2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne was very welcoming and the place was absolutely mind-blowing. The place is fully equipped (coffee maker, oven, microwave, stove) and you can enjoy an exclusive lake view in the dining room (separate from the Cabin) which was very nice. The lake was calm and nice and we were able to use the canoe and kayak which was an awesome experience. The breakfast was great as well (with handmade bagel and cakes etc) and Lynne was very quick in responding to our inquiries. I would definitely recommend to my friends and families and anyone who's looking for a getaway place in summer and fall!

East Wing Large Bedroom! 1 queen and 1 double bed. Excellent for families! Great lake view. Excellent breakfasts! The beauty of wood surrounds you. Great room fireplace. You won't be disappointed here! Make a memory at Algonquin Hemlock Point!
This is a lovely area with nature everywhere you walk or see. Trees, lakes, and rocks abound. There are good walking trails nearby; but the best rails and sights are in Algonquin Park, one of Canada's specially preserved wilderness locations.
  • We had a wonderful time. The location is marvelous. Dale and Sandra were very hospitable and really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The area is beautiful and so is the cabin. A marvelous log cabin (although cabin might be an understatement) they built with an awesome view on the lake. The location is near to Algonquin park (an hour driving) for those that feel the need to make a nature walk, like we did. Loved it. Ps. I can really recomend Dale's egg benedict.

    David2014-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Dale are absolutely amazing hosts and their log cabin is a little piece of heaven. They spoilt us rotten from the very beginning with a boat ride on the beautiful lake, followed by absolutely scrumptious breakfasts every morning. It was all those small touches that truly made our experience wonderful, including advice on places to visit, information about the area, and even raincoats on a stormy day. I could go on and on about what a wonderful and comfortable time we had at Hemlock Point - it was truly a highlight of our 2-week trip to Canada - but all I will say is: VISIT! Whether you want to spend time in Algonquin Park, or just want a peaceful getaway, this is the place for you :) Thank you so much Sandra and Dale!

    Hannah2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Hemlock Point cottage house certainly lived up to its name! The attention to detail in this cottage is jaw-dropping. Truly Canadian style cottage. Sandra and Dale are excellent hosts. Dale makes excellent eggs benedict, and Sandra's cookies are amazing. Their hospitality makes you feel as if you are with family. In the evening they lit up the huge fireplace in the living room. The next day we had a bonfire outside in the yard, while we roasted some marshmallows. There were wonderful lake views from the entire cottage. Of course, the best view was from the big outdoor patio where you can sit and drink your evening tea. Although we were right on the lake and secluded from other properties, Huntsville is only 15-20 minutes drive away. Extremely clean and well organized. There were lots of fresh towels and extra pillows. We didn't use the boat or lake for swimming, as it was still start of summer. The best thing in the evening was to watch the moon and the stars from the wonderful deck, while listening to the loons. This is a hidden gem and must be explored by all Torontonians. We will be back there soon again.

    Hashim2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Sandra and Dale's as part of a two week tour of Ontario. I was a little surprised at how uniformly glowing the reviews were. At the time I thought were lucky to get in because of a cancellation; I soon learned just how lucky when we rolled up their driveway. Sandra and Dale's home is conveniently located north of Huntsville. It has fairly easy access to Algonquin Park, and balances being accessible with being remote and secluded. Their home is a beautiful Scandinavian log home, and evokes a lodge. It has many excellent amenities, including lake access for swimming or canoeing, and is very close to a nice running trail. We have stayed at a lot of B and Bs and Airbnbs, and I have to say, Sandra and Dale provided one of the best experiences we've ever had. The most unique thing about them is their generosity of spirit. Some proprietors make you feel like boarders; Sandra and Dale make you feel like family. This is exemplified by all of the little things they did that go above and beyond the typical experience. Over the course of the two days, Sandra and Dale: gave us a tour of the unique construction of their Scandinavian log home; gave us a crash course on proper canoeing technique as taught by the Canadian rangers; and took us for a cruise around their lake and surrounding rivers on their boat. These experiences are in addition to the things I expect from a good B and B, including the delicious breakfasts they cooked, and the excellent activities they recommended. Before we had departed Canada they had also sent us a set of pictures they took to help us memorialize the experience. I can honestly say that staying at Sandra and Dale's was one of the highlights of our vacation. If you are looking for a place to escape the grind of daily life, you'd be lucky to spend some time with them at Hemlock Point.

    Dave2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really amazing loghouse right next to the lake. We felt home from the very first moment and Sandra and Dale did everything to make us feel like family. The food was delicious (it is possible to have diner at their place as well). They gave us a introduction how to paddle savely in canadian canoe. Dale even took us on a boat ride along the lakes and rivers. The bathroom is shared with another room, which wasn't problem at all. Secret tip: Try Dale's Eggs Benedict for breakfast... Thank you, Sandra and Dale, for sharing you little paradise with us.

    Florian2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Magical place with warm, genuine hosts. Highly recommend.

    Kelsey2014-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat! We were spoiled from the very first minute till our departure. Sandra and Dale were extremely kind and warmhearted hosts. Everything was absolutely perfect.

  • We had a lovely time at Hemlock Point. Sandra and Dale are very warm and friendly, they made us the most amazing breakfasts, and had many stories to tell about the surrounding area and wildlife. The log cabin is beautifully situated on a lake, and has very interesting architecture. From Hemlock Point it's easy to make trips to Algonquin Park, I am planning to go back again for sure!

  • Andy and Monique were amazing hosts. They were very organized and sent out helpful details about their home ahead of time, and they responded quickly when we had a couple of questions during our stay. When we arrived, the wood stove in the living room was prepared for us to light - which we used, and loved! A very cozy place to hang out. They also had the lower level fire place lit to welcome us. We were a group of 13 and we did a lot of cooking - the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed for large meals. The property is beautiful and quiet. A few of us went on a run around the area, which was quite nice with fall colours and a breeze. We had a great stay, and we are already thinking of coming back in the summer months! Thanks Andy and Monique!

Available for your enjoyment is a 2 bedroom bungalow located on Kawagama Lake. This cottage has a large deck and screened in porch with parking for up to 4 cars. Recent, considerable upgrades on the waterside Dockage with lots of space to relax and enjoy the lake. Conveniently located between 2 marinas boat launch or rentals are footsteps away.
The highlight for sure is the waterfront. Both 10 x 20ft docks are new and receive regular maintenance. The water is 20ft off the end of the dock, you can dive to the 10 x 16ft swim raft without even swimming.
This cottage is 7km drive to groceries, restaurants & LCBO in Dorset.
  • We had a fantastic week at Jamie's cottage. It is clean, cozy and well equipped. The docks are amazing and make for a relaxing time in the sun. The lake is clean and great for swimming. Jamie is a wonderful host who answers texts quickly should you have any questions during your stay. The cottage is just a few minutes from Dorset's main strip where there is an LCBO, ice cream, restaurant and Robinsons the cutest country store in Canada.

    shannon2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a wonderful time at Jamie’s cottage! It was extremely clean and well equipped when we got there. There are two docks to this cottage as well as kayaks and blow up floats for the water, and lawn chairs. It is very close to two marinas and we rented a pontoon. Jamie was also very quick at responding to our texts when we had questions and recommended that we go see the Dorset lookout tower which was incredible. We had an incredible week and we would definitely recommend this cottage to others!

    Lei2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a fabulous week at Jamie's place with my family and we loved it. Secluded yet just a short drive to one of the best general stores in the country, LCBO and some cool restaurants on the water. The cottage is spacious and well equipped with a cozy fireplace for chilly evenings. The master bedroom is gorgeous with great bedding (slept so well every night) and connects to a screened-in porch overlooking the lake. While the docks and boathouse were where we spent our sunny days (along with exploring the beautiful lake on the two kayaks provided), the gem of the cottage during the rainy days was the daybed in front of the picture window overlooking the docks. It was a great spot to curl up and read a good book. Jamie is a great host and I would definitely recommend his place to anyone. We want to come again next summer. Great job Jamie!

  • Very spacious, clean & comfortable cottage. Ideally located, quiet location but beautiful Dorset is a short drive away for groceries, LCBO ETC. Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful time at Jamie's cottage and enjoyed the quiet. The cottage is particularly great, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Jamie gave us some good advice for activities, he was helpful and a wonderful host. We highly recommend the cottage to others.

  • Very Clean. Amazing view. It was excellent waking up to the golden light through the trees.

  • What a wonderful get away! All the benefits of being at "your own cottage" without the hassles of owning. Jamie was extremely accommodating and always answered very quickly with any of our questions (even a phone call mid visit when the power went out due to weather) Marinas are super close if you need to launch your own boat or rent. The rentals are a bit pricey but do book up so book ahead. Also great for an after dinner kawartha dairy ice cream. We had rain and sunshine. So we were able to take full advantage of all amenities at the cottage. The screened in porch is a life saver and amazing feature. Also the boat house served as a great hide out watching the rain on the lake with some wine and our zero gravity chairs. Town is a quick 10 mins away if you forgot anything or want to explore. All in all - this cottage exceeded our expectations and we will certainly be back!! Thanks again Jamie!!!

Adorable waterfront cottage on the majestic Lake of Bays in the heart of Muskoka. Access to shared outdoor fire pit, dock, canoe, rolling lawn, and lake access on a secluded bay. This guest cottage is fully furnished with a full kitchen, deck with BBQ, TV/DVD player, and cozy living quarters. The lake features a sandy beach and a gradual slope from shallow to deep water; perfect for swimming, fishing, and water sports.
This little cottage has comfy beds for up to 8 people (and air mattresses available upon request). The downstairs has a kitchen and living room and a walkout deck with gorgeous views of the Lake of Bays. The outdoor space is stunning and the perfect place to seek peace and quiet, or a raucous good time with your loved ones and friends!
The property is a short drive to golf resorts, such as Deerhurst and only a 30min drive to Algonquin Park. The area features wonderful opportunities for shopping, antiquing, dining, and outdoor adventures!
  • My family and I stayed at the cottage for 3 nights in August and had an amazing vacation - very relaxed and exactly what we wanted. The cottage in located 15 minutes outside of Huntsville and 5 minutes from the near by: LCBO, grocery store, bakery and Dwight Beach if you feel like a change from the great waterfront and dock you have access to. The cottage itself is what you would expect, if not more. Fully equipped kitchen and dining area, living space to accommodate the whole family - lots of movies, board games and great Wi-Fi for those rainy days. Upstairs you have 4 moderate sized rooms: 2 rooms with doubles, 2 rooms with 2 singles. The bathroom is smaller than we would have liked, but sufficient. It can be a little stuffy when hot out - we would advise you to keep the windows open (intact screens prevent bugs). To the rear of the cottage you have a deck with picnic table and BBQ for outside cooking. The dock is just amazing, without a doubt the heart of the vacation! Lots of room, very clean water, floating dock, Muskoka chairs, canoe, life jackets and outdoor dining table and chairs for meals with a view and large fire pit to keep everyone down there into the late evening. Notables: The cottage is located on shared property (directly adjacent to the hosts home) with the grounds being "shared". We didn't have any issues with this and still enjoyed a very private vacation. Hayley and Mike came to greet us and we saw them only a handful of times out with their dogs or taking a swim. Very nice couple, this shouldn't be a negative - they provide you with the privacy you would expect. The stairs up and down to the dock are quite steep and could be troubling for those who struggle with stairs. Unfortunately, due to very severe rainfall on the last day of our stay we did encounter two mice in the cottage. We believe this wasn't due to anything but the severe weather as the cottage is clean and secure. Located in a wooded area, this may be an issue anywhere. Be sure to keep doors and screens are closed if it rains during your stay. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend to all! We would stay here again. Thank you Hayley and Mike - we wish you all the best and good luck in the future with Airbnb.

  • Hayley was an amazing host. My questions were replied to quickly and I had a wonderful time there with my kids. We especially enjoyed using their canoe at no extra cost. The cottage was very clean and had a great selection of board games. Would most definitely come back!

  • Very conveniently located near the Algonquin Park, but the place itself is very scenic with a big lake right at the back of the house, you can canoe freely there. Its a great place to come with a group of friends.

  • We stayed on a beautiful island near Algonquin park. There was fishing rods and a fire pit that we spent the weekend enjoying. The canoe and pedal boats let us tour the lake. We were given lifts on a motor boat when we needed and the cottage was really cosy. We had an incredible weekend!

  • Dan and Joy's family cottage and island was an amazing experience. Our hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. The location/cottage is exactly as shown. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to enjoy the serenity and picturesque view. The location is ideal being minutes from Algonquin Park. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed many hiking trails while there. Our hosts also had many suggestions on which trails to experience, canoe trips to a beautiful waterfall etc.. We did not want to come home ! Thank you Dan and Joy !

  • No bait and switch here! Listing was accurate in every regard. Lovely two-acre island offering seclusion and natural beauty, yet with easy access (5-10 mins) by motor boat or canoe -- both included for exclusive use of the cottage guests at the hospitality of the hosts -- not to mention a paddle boat to boot. Gorgeous sunsets; excellent swimming from both island docks -- situated on the east side and west side of the island for the enjoyment of changing sunlight throughout the day, not to mention dusks and dawns to take in. Lovely spot also for the children to hunt for lovely quartz and other geological artifacts. Well-appointed, tastefully decorated, and cosy cottage with all the necessary amenities. Delectable prepared foods and other conveniences and necessities minutes away by car in Huntsville and Dwight. Oh, and bonfires and marshmallow-roasting at sunset. Reasonably quiet and pretty lake offering excellent kayaking and canoe exploration. Absolutely perfect setting for family vacation or rustic romantic getaway!
