  • From Patty: John and Astrud are the most amazing, welcoming people. As someone who is constantly on edge about imposing on the time and personal space of others, I have never felt more at ease or more welcome than when I stayed with them at their little Airbnb. Not only did they make their place feel like a home away from home, they were extremely helpful when planning activities to do around Akumal and Tulum, gave excellent advice about what to see, where to go, how to get there, places to eat, and even spent time with my friend and me themselves, sharing a little bit of their local life in our touristy pursuits. I can't wait to go back, not only because Akumal is a beautiful place, but because John and Astrud are incredible people with an incredible story. If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, I would fully recommend looking no further. From Morgan: I left a review from when I stayed with John and Astrud a couple weeks ago so I'll keep this short. I enjoyed my trip so much last time that when my friend wanted to make a trip a week later I 100% recommended we come to Akumal and stay here. Again John and Astrud went above and beyond what is expected and I enjoyed getting to know them more over coffee and breakfast. This will always be the first place I check when I make a trip here and I look forward to my next visit!

  • Astrid and John were very welcoming hosts who made us feel right at home in their beautiful apartment on top of the jungle. We've spent the last three nights of our trip to Mexico with them for some final relaxation. With their detailed knowledge of the region they pointed us to some of the cenotes in the vicinity as well as a short trip to Cóba. All in all we've had a very enjoyable stay and would come back at any time. For those who have trouble finding it: it is located within the Serinas complex and not where Airbnb's GPS points to. So all in all this place really has everything you need to feel comfortable - a fully equipped kitchen to cook, a cozy room, nice spots to hang out and some wonderful decorative accents all over the place! Thank you John and Astrud for this great experience!

  • Our stay at John and Astrud’s lovely Las Palmas apartment was nothing short of magic. My partner and I arrived at their home after a long and exhausting 24 hours of travel, and John invited us in and made us feel immediately at home with a mix of graciousness, humor, and warmth. He gave us a thorough orientation to their gorgeous space and ensured we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. We had a dreamy 14 hours of sleep in the large, soft king bed and watched the sun come up over the jungle from the large picture window in the bedroom. Our rest was truly restorative and peaceful, due to the stunning design of the space and its surroundings. John gave us some great insider tips on local beaches and cenotes to visit during our stay and even personally accompanied us to the beach that is accessible from within the Grand Sirenis property. He even showed us where we could hang our hammock for maximum privacy and a view. This generosity of spirit and hospitality was present throughout our stay in the Las Palmas apartment. The next night, our hosts offered us a once in a life time experience that included an early evening soak in the huge tub on the roof during sunset followed by body and energy work on the lower deck, offered at a sliding scale. John’s attention to body, mind, and spirit during the bodywork experience was remarkable. We both felt immensely safe, cared for, and attended to as John provided massage and other healing modalities in the cool evening air, accompanied by candlelight and music. The energy in the Las Palmas apartment is stellar, due in large part to the interesting, smart, and engaging hosts who truly want to create an experience for their guests. We highly encourage you to take the opportunity to meet these folks and accept what they’re offering. Magic, adventure, connection, and beauty abound at this sweet Las Palmas retreat.

  • John and Astrud were amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. The apartment is lovely and clean with tasteful decor. Our bed was great and very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the outdoor spaces; especially the roof top jacuzzi! The location is great as its next to Akumal beach (great for swimming with turtles!) its also easy to reach Playa del Carmen and Tulum. This has been our best Air bnb experience so far John and Astrud even picked us up on arrival and dropped us off in Playa when we left. We would highly recommend and hope to return!

  • I was in Mexico for 3-week holiday and wanted to rest one day from hustle and bustle of Playa del Carmen in nice and quiet place before heading to continue my adventure in Tulum. I found Astrud and John on Airbnb and immediately fell in love with their penthouse apartment and amazing energy. Their place is located exactly half way between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, about 10min walk from the sea and 5min by bus from Akumal (turtles!) The room is quite spacious and have the most comfy king size bed I have ever slept in! I had a private bathroom, access to the common kitchen, living room and rooftop terrace (THE MOST IMPORTANT!) with jacuzzi, swings, hammocks and beautiful sea view! :) The WiFi works very well and there is even a small pool downstairs! Astrud and John are super welcoming hosts! From the very first minute they gave me a nice feeling that their house is my house, helped me with planning my next holiday activities e.g. visiting cenotes or arranging diving. Moreover, they recommended me a great place to stay in Tulum, Spanish school, restaurants and bars. I highly recommend staying with these two sunshines in Akumal. Your time at their place will be icing on the cake of your trip to Mexico! :)

  • John & Astrud were incredibly wonderful hosts. John was quick to reply to the questions we had prior to arrival and more than willing to go above and beyond when we had transportation problems on arrival (due to the rental car company.) When we did arrive at the property, we were immediately treated like family. John and Astrud are both fun and interesting people. We enjoyed swapping stories of world travel with them. We were here not only to celebrate our birthdays, but to look at investment property and they were very helpful with suggestions. They were kind enough to take us to some of their favorite local eateries and even showed us around Tulum. They were also very adamant about giving us as much privacy or company that we required. The home is great, nicely decorated and filled with wonderful plants. They've made sure that the house has everything you might need, including a very nice hammock. After discovering that my wife was a coffee fanatic, John immediately went and purchased a french press. This is just one example of their willingness to make us feel at home. The rooftop terrace is awesome. We especially enjoyed the swings, it made us feel like kids again. On our last night, John set up a very romantic evening for us in the garden tub on the roof and Astrud picked up some nice candle holders for ambiance. John even cooked us breakfast on our last morning. We were excited and honored to be their first guests and shortly after meeting them, we wished we had booked our entire trip here.

    Kayla2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with John was above and beyond our expectations! He and his wife were gracious hosts to say the least. They went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable and comfortable. Look forward to visiting them again soon!

  • We had a wonderful stay here. We live in the area but needed a place to stay for the weekend. It is not a central area, but is a beautiful resort location removed from everything, with walking and bike access to the beach, stunning rooftop views of the water, sunsets over the jungle, and an incredible pool. The rooftop was our favorite part, it is huge, we did yoga in the mornings up there, and hung in the hammock under the stars at night. Amazing. Also I love that the bikes were included and we could go to our own secluded beach with no one else there. The room was very nice and comfortable with all the amenities, powerful AC, beautiful windows looking out at the jungle, candles, comfy pillows, strong wifi for my work. Everything was beautifully clean. They gave us the top shelf of the fridge for our stuff, and we cooked just like we were at home. John even gave me an incredible massage one day on the terrace. He has Native American healing energy and the massage rocked my soul! Definitely ask about adding on a massage outside in the beautiful elements. They were cheery and made us feel like family. The only thing is that it is far from anything to go to the store, etc, which we wanted, privacy, but you need to plan ahead to bring all the items you need, or you should have a rental car. This is exactly what we wanted, to be hidden from the world in a beautiful calming environment, and it was exactly that. I know that we will now stay friends forever. Thanks guys and best wishes!

  • Leon's place is exactly as described. A tranquil jungle paradise. It is rustic with a warm and welcoming spirit. Leon gives you healthy fruit and whole grain bread for breakfast. He provides free yoga three times a week at 9a. The bungalows are all built by hand from local resources. They have attached bathrooms, enclosed patio, and very good AC for the room on the really hot nights. It is true that you need to be comfortable with critters that might includes spiders, very large crickets, and well behaved dogs. There are mosquitoes but the nets on the beds work very well. Overall... OY was a trip highlight. Thank you, Leon. We hope to see you during a visit again very soon.

    Jeffrey2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in organic yoga. A great escape from the tourist hotspot that is the surrounding area. Leon is a wonderful man and great host and I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.

    Conor2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Maggie and I had a wonderful time staying with Leon on his beautiful, isolated, calm, and peaceful property. We stayed in a very nice handbuilt apartment---it was so cool!! As a builder, I have a great deal of respect for all the thought, love and hard work that Leon has put into his B and B. We were surrounded by nature---listening to the wide array of bird calls every morning was truly amazing. The yoga we did was very nice---not too strenuous but not not too easy either. We also saw a monkey!! Would definitely stay there again. What a neat place!

    Andrew2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Leons place is a one of a kind , truly unique, artful, a vitamin for the soul. Leon is gracious and attentive. He was happy to share his knowledge of the regions offerings, and generous with his time. Our hand crafted accomodations were clean and perfectly comfortable with a hint of magic infused throughout.

    Lane2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Organic Yoga is a fantastic place if you like to be away from mass tourism. León has built a small paradise with beautiful small houses in the jungle, heartily equipped with everything you need. He is very kind and provides fruits and breakfast, as well as useful Information about the best things to do in the area. Don't miss the Yoga class, and ask for a massage, it is worth every single peso. Nevertheless be aware that you are in the jungle and there are small animals (beside León's relaxed dogs). So if you like nature, relaxed atmosphere, calmness, a Place to come down, this might be a very good choice for you. Thanks a lot Leon for the beautiful days I could spend in your place, I hope to come back one day!

    Matthias2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Leon's little paradise. Leon is the perfect host and his three dogs are superfriendly. The location is a bit remote so bring a torch if you plan to walk to or from the place at night.

    Egon2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wow...a visit at Leon's little rustic paradise in the Mexican jungle is quite a unique experience for a visitor from the city like me! I truly enjoyed being away from the usual busy tourist area and be fully immersed in this natural setting. Individual buildings were all built with local and natural materials and are fully integrated in this forest. Leon has developed a fairly large garden and built beautiful integrated pathways that connect each building. The design and energy of the yoga and meditation building is really great! This ecological environement provides all the necessaties for human comfort. You can feel the good energy and attention he has put in the overall details and planning of the site. Every morning you see the gardener and cleaning lady that come by and are really lookig well after this place. If you don't have a car for easy mobility, be ready to walk a bit to get to the highway ( a little less than 1 kilometer) to grab a local bus (collectivo) to the closest town of Akumal (about 3km), Tulum or Playa Del Carmen. But the walk is enjoyable. Doing so gives you a chance to meet with locals and see signs of other eco villas and b&b that are also developping around Leon's place. The people I meet were all warm and very friendly people. The benefits of your stay at Leon would be that you truly have a unique travelling experience away from the usual tourist areas that includes the enormous bonus of free and optional meditation and yoga sessions that is available almost every morning. And Leon is qualified and a beautiful teacher! I"m Denis (French Canadian from Gatineau, Québec)

    Denis2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Leon is a gym! He is great for recommendations. Every restaurant he told us to go to was outstanding. We saw many local sites we would not have seen without him. The hotel itself is about a 15 minute walk from the main highway, where it is easy to catch the Collecttivos into Tulum and Akumal. The rooms are clean and attractive, and the staff is very nice.

Cool ocean breezes combined with first class amenities welcome you to a different world. This minimalistic condo doesn't disappoint, with its lush jungle views and modern design, the Mayan Riviera is your oyster.
Great condo located in a gated residential with beach access just 5 minutes walking distance. Enjoy the fantastic views of the ocean and jungle from the rooftop terrace! + DAILY BREAKFAST INCLUDED ***PLEASE CHECK OUR OTHER LISTINGS IF BOOKED FOR YOUR DATES, WE HAVE 10 CONDOS AVAILABLE THAT ARE ALL EQUALLY NICE WITHIN THE PROJECT***
The Condo unit you book will be assigned only a few days prior to your arrival. All the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments have the same layout and equipment and the only difference is in which floor they are located (1, 2, 3), so please note the interior photos posted on this listing may vary in decoration and view from the unit you end up booking.
  • A beautiful, clean, well equipped luxury apartment. Breakfast was lovely and view from rooftop stunning. It is necessary to get a colectivo or taxi either into Akumal or to any restaurants, amenities etc - but this is extremely easy from the main road, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. Lots of lizards to see! However, beware of ants on the path outside that have disregarded the jungle boundaries, their bite is nasty! Couldn't have asked for a better first night in Mexico.

    Ellie2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great for families who have a car. It's isolated and quiet. Modern condos. Jungle pool and beautiful rooftop deck

    Richard2017-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The property and apartments are clean and well maintained. We had booked a studio but upgraded to the one bedroom and it was a great decision. We loved having a balcony and full kitchen to cook. The breakfasts included were delicious and Ricky, the chef, very friendly. Betty was available to answer any questions and to make recommendations. Normally we use public transport when in Mexico however, as there are no restaurants within walking distance, we rented a car the last few days which provided freedom to go the nearby towns to get groceries and explore the area. The rooftop terrace was a beautiful place for reading and relaxing and watching sunsets and star gazing. The pool, surrounded by jungle was inviting and refreshing.

    Tatiana2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying here ... perfect place to have a central "home" for a wonderful vacation in the Akumal area. I will be back for sure! :)

    Anne2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment and building. The Chic modern description was spot on. Loved the decor...chairs and painting. Nice king size bed. Very lovely bathroom and rain shower. Toiletries - shampoo and conditioner provided. Dishes and the like...including portable stovetop and microwave. Great pool and having breakfast included was an added surprise. I am vegan but the chef prepared something special for me and that was so sweet. Rooftop view was beautiful...rooftop jacuzzis and swings...really cool. Check in was very smooth and easy with dropbox. Location was great....not in the heart of everything in Akumal but close enough (less than 10 minutes) and only 30 minutes from Tulum. Also I felt secure.

    Kemoy2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is okay for couples/friends with a car to go around. It's in a very quiet place outside Akumal. Therefore you have to take a colectivo or go by your own car to get to Akumal Beach and restaurants/shopping. We tried to go there by bycycle, but that is not an option unless you want to ride on the highway. There is a nice pool as well as a rooftop terrace with a nice jaquzzi and great views. The mexican-styles breakfast was a plus. The room is nicely furnished and looks like the pictures. The cleaning was missing ind the bath. Furthermore, there was a "secret" door wich was seperating our room to a connecting room were other people lived. There was a lot of noice (NOT on purpose, I guess) from this apartment - we could hear everything: texting on the phone, doing the dishes, oppening kitchen cabins and drawers. We had sine difficulties finding the place even though we had a taxi driver who seemed to know the area quite well. All communication went nice and easy before and during the stay, and Betty welcomed us nicely on the arrival with some good tips about restaurants in Akumal.

    Lenette2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We visited with two kids and it was perfect for us. Very clean, well maintained and equipped with full kitchen, washer and dryer, and very comfy beds. A/C in each bedroom and living room worked well on humid days. Betty was very quick to respond leading to our visit and provided good directions to TAO residential as we drove late at night. She visited us next day at the apt and gave very good recommendations, which we enjoyed very much. She was available on the phone at all times and was helpful to even drop off laundry detergent one morning. She had complimentary toiletries in each bathroom which was a nice touch. TAO residential property is very beautiful and quite with the wellness center and amazing pool with a view of the golf course. The surroundings are very relaxing compared to the hustle and bustle of the resorts. We got bracelets to the Grand Bahia resort grounds and spend a day at the swimming pool, which was nice too without having to pay extra. The apt is close to Akumal and Tulum beaches and great options for food. We would stay here again! Betty, thank you for your hospitality.

    Vita2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice place, room was good and very clean. Pool and rooftop jacuzzis were a bonus, as was the Mexican style breakfast. Location was quite remote which is good for a nice relaxing time, but I'd also probably recommend having a car unless you don't mind walking to the highway to catch a colectivo. Everyone working here was very nice and friendly. Would stay here again!

  • Debbie's place is great, I didn't get the chance to check out the beach since I was on a golf trip at Bahia Principe and would only use the condo for sleep. The condo is well equipped with a full kitchen where he left some beers and wine for me in the fridge also has a washing machine and dryer. The building itself seemed a little abandoned but I was certain there were people, I believe this is do to the fact that it rained all weekend long no one was outside in the pool. I blame it on Hurricane Season. Debbie informed me just a couple days before my arrival that there were no internet nor tv signal which was out of her control, I believe this being because the internet is for the whole building. Even so, Debbie offered to refund me $30 USD for that inconvenience which was very nice of her part. I had no trouble arriving, all the instructions were very specific and she was always ready to answer any question or doubt. Sadly I didn't get the chance to meet her but I do recommend this place alot and Debbie is a great host.

  • Cute place with everything you need in a great location. Very comfortable and the roof deck is a real plus. Mika was awesome! Easy to contact and very responsive.

  • A GREAT DEAL. Among the trees, this quiet, big and simply, yet tastefully furnished place is the best price for the space in Akumal. I didn´t mind not being on the beach in exchange for the great price, a full kitchen, living and bedroom, plus the deck on the roof was great (and eventually I think they have another room on the roof). I´ll be back.

  • Casita Cielo worked perfectly for me as a home base for a week of diving in Akumal. It is a short walk to Akumal bay or Half moon bay as well as a handful of restaurant options. I didn't have a car on this trip so I stocked up on groceries in Playa del Carmen on my way from the airport as groceries in Akumal can be expensive. The home had all the basic needs, wifi was decent (6mb down, 1mb up), water pressure was great. I'd definitely stay here again if traveling solo or as a couple.

We will defenitly love to go back to Akumal at Casita Cielo, that had all you need it and Mika always responded to all my doubts super fast and gave me great advice and recommendations. She was a awesome host. Love the place!

Beach front 2 bedroom spacious condo. Can sleep 6 people. Private gated community, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, wifi, smart tv, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, grill, kayaks & parking. Walk up to the rooftop as well for a view of the bay. Ideal location & away from the crowds. Truly paradise.
Location! As the Riviera Maya gets more popular and crowded, this bay will always stay small and quiet making it an ideal location. Plus the snorkeling is amazing.
The location is ideal as it is close to all of the spectacular activities and adventures here in the area. This is a privately gated community with 24 hour guard watch for your comfort. As well as a great place to see nature. Seasonally we have turtles coming up on the beach to lay eggs. You can also witness the babies hatching and making their way to the ocean. The reef out front is amazing and great for snorkeling. Most importantly this beach is not touristy because of its secluded location.
  • Perfect location for a family like ours with two kids. Nice beach, safe environment, very well equipped. Excellent for trips to Tulum, Coba or jst for relaxing beach days. And it's brilliant to have breakfast just 10m away from the beach. Nancy is a perfect host. We'll come back !

  • We very much enjoyed the tropical haven. The four of us (two couples) loved meeting Nancy's daughter and son, Alaina and Tony both of whom went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to offer ideas about places to visit. Everything we needed was at the house or was quickly supplied. The pictures do not do justice to the location: wow! When we met other visitors to Akumal they expressed envy that we had both luxury and privacy. Who needs all-inclusive? We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and on the grill. The beds are comfortable, and bathrooms are clean. We northerners (from WA State and Ontario) were especially grateful for the excellent air conditioning in the bedrooms. Most wonderful: the beach is so close. Only problem: Ten wonderful days was not enough time.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Nancy’s beachfront condo. Before we arrived, Nancy very kindly offered to buy a Weber grill for us which was awesome. We grilled every night we were there. The condo itself was very comfortable and spacious. A cleaning lady came a few times which was greast. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful, including Nancy’s son Tony. Being on the water was great, and we swam every day. But the beach in front of the condo is rocky, so you must use water shoes. We were also able to wash our clothes in the building which was very nice. One day we walked along the waterfront to Akumal (about 30 minutes) where there is a good sand beach. We hired snorkeling gear and a guide on the beach who took us out for about an hour. We saw many large sea turtles, a beautiful site! We would definitely go back and loved the condo! Thanks Nancy!

  • We had a wonderful time at Nancy's place. She was extremely kind, helpful and communicative. We had a very special AirBnB experience getting to know her a bit. The Tropical Haven was perfect for the 5 of us - spacious, clean, with a wonderful kitchen to cook in, comfortable beds, and right on the beach. Being on a quiet beach had a very relaxed atmosphere. We loved sitting under the palm trees and watching the pelicans and ospreys fish. The home is in a gated complex with very friendly guards, so we felt very safe. It's useful to have a rental car so that you can explore Tulum, the nearby centotes etc.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Nancy's place and would definitely stay there again. The location is great, and Alaina was very helpful and welcoming.

    Taylor2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place is a large, beautiful condo, directly on the beach. We came here for a couple days of rest and relaxation, and Nancy's place definitely delivered. So peaceful during the day and night, listening to the waves lapping up on the beach while lounging and reading a good book. The Bikini Beach Bar was an added bonus, (just a few minutes drive down the road) when we wanted to be social and grab a drink and a meal. We can't wait to come back!

    Danielle2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Nancy's Tropical Haven is ideal! The reef couldn't be closer, Akumal is a short bike ride, golf cart ride, or drive away. The other tenants at the condos were warm and welcoming! The guards at the gate were wonderful! And Nancy; Nancy couldn't have been friendlier! When we locked ourselves out of the safe, she was prompt to come to our aid! The only thing we should've done differently is stay longer and take a walk to Nancy's bar down the beach! Thank you Nancy!

  • Beautiful home and gorgeous view of the beach! Our spot was clean, private, and very welcoming. With 24/7 security and a small line of neighbors, we felt very calm and at peace, with the ocean always in our view. Thank you to Nancy and to her daughter Alaina for being so attentive to us as guests. They kept constant communication with us before and during our stay, and helped us with anything we needed -- a difficult task for our chaotic family. Alaina even brought us on a beautiful private tour of a local cenote and cave system. We felt like we had made great friends with Nancy and Alaina at the end of our stay, whom we would recommend to other friends on the spot if ever visiting Akumal paradise!

  • LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This condo is amazing. Nicely furnished with everything you could want or need in PARADISE. It is spacious with picture-postcard views. Very sad to leave. Hope to be back soon. Thanks Paul and Mona for sharing this beautiful place.

  • We loved our stay here! The condo is so clean & well-equipped with everything you need. We especially appreciated all of the information sent prior to our arrival (stores/restaurants close by, wifi info...lots more). It was very practical & extremely helpful. They also responded right away anytime we reached out. The beautuful beach is literally right outside the door! We'd definitely go back!

  • As the other reviewers have said, this place is amazing. Gorgeous beach house / condo. Spacious and comfortable. Beautiful view of the beach/ocean from the living room and kitchen. Steps to Yal-Kul lagoon for some great snorkeling. Also steps from our favorite restaurants and bars in Akumal. Property management was onsite and very friendly and helpful when we had a question or two. We highly recommend this place and will be back again.

  • Akumal is more laid-back than Tulum, and this beachfront is located in one of the most gorgeous areas in Akumal, removed from tourists and footsteps away from the best snorkeling... right in your front yard. Yal-Ku Lagoon is also a 5-minute walk away. The property is very clean and the unit is well-decorated and authentic. It has air-conditioning, comfortable beds, and a fully stocked kitchen. The master bedroom opens up to a view of the ocean. There are even a few lizards that like to sunbathe in the front yard. We typically had the entire beachfront to ourselves. The grounds are beautiful and lush with plants. The swimming pool is typically empty, and there are bicycles for rent here. There is daily maid service and fresh, clean water is provided. Each of the nearby restaurants have delicious food and are a 30-minute walk away, with La Buena Vida (cool beachfront bar/restaurant with swings) being a 10 minute walk away. We rented a car and drove to Chichen Itza, Valladolid, cenotes, Sian Ka'an and Tulum. The distance from the property to these sites was not an issue. Our week long stay was a taste of paradise, and I'd recommend this property to anyone looking to relax and have their own experience in the Riviera Maya.

  • Beautiful place with everything we needed. You can't get any better than waking up with coffee on the water and evening moonlight on the bay. I did my PADI open water diver certification at Akumal Dive Shop - they're amazing. The surrounding owners were older so it's a great place for family; no drinking/party noise, which I liked. The Mexican EPA recently suspended snorkeling on top of the turtles in Akumal bay, (a very good thing for the environment), but the snorkeling in Half Moon Bay is amazing, plus all of the cenotes. There is no dearth of things to do in the area. Paul and Mona - thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

    Libby2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This rental has a beautiful view of the bay. Snorkelling right out front and Yal-ku is within walking distance. The pool was lovely and the complex felt safe.

    Gina2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome!!! We originally had plans to explore the surrounding attractions but couldn't bring ourselves to leave this place. Aside from the world class snorkeling steps away from the units back door, there is also a pool that we spent hours in. We stayed here the first week of July, and it was pretty quiet with only a few people there - we basically had the whole place to ourselves. Paul's unit is very clean and an ideal location to spend a great vacation. The immediate area is somewhat low key, so if you don't want to be around a lot of tourists, this place will work out great! I highly recommend it!!!!

We highly recommend renting a car as there are many nearby attractions. Our bay is predominantly private beach villas. We hope that you enjoy the peacefulness of Ruby Moon on your next vacation.
Private, mostly consists of villas, few condos and great x walking. Highly recommend water shoes for walking between bays for coral hunting.
  • Ruby moon is truly a special place. The beach is amazing and it was nice having the pool as well. The staff were friendly and did a wonderful job keeping the house clean and making sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend having the home cooked meals they were fabulous! Our one small complaint is actually regarding Elvia the owner.. She is friendly but tends to just burst into the house whenever she wants with no warning. There were a few times when she came over when people were still asleep in the morning and was loud enough to wake everyone up. As an air bnb host myself I always ask people when a convenient time for me to stop by is. A little more respect for privacy would be nice. Other than that we felt very well taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed Ruby Moon.

  • The house fits to the announcement and our expectations. We had a great stay ! We appreciated the cleanliness of the house every day ; the housekeeper and the gardenkeeper are very nice and accomodating. Nevertheless, the owner is quite demanding and the communication is not always easy... We regret there is no space and furniture to spend the evenings outside. Please note that there is no washing machine ; it is the housekeeper who can take care of it. We recommend this house !

  • Amazing spot, lovely house, and great communication with the hosts and caretakers. Beautiful combination of factors that make up for a perfect beach holiday spot.

  • My husband and I had never been to the riviera maya so we were going in blind, and a little last minute considering many people book a year in advance. This Villa looked like it would fit our needs for our honeymoon trip with our toddler. And boy, it didn't disappoint! Elvia was great at giving us the info we needed before arrival. It was easy to find with directions given. When we arrived, the villa was exactly as pictured, and so spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed, with a beautiful dining area overlooking the Caribbean sea. The beach is literally the backyard, it was nice and quiet with only a few passer byes. You can snorkel right out in the back, and there's many spots a short walk away. It is in a quiet location, but close to everything. We had a car rental to help us with our kid, but there's taxis and collectivos that are very convenient. A huge part of why the trip was one of the best was the housekeeper and gardener. Laura and Paulino made us feel so welcome and so comfortable. They don't speak English but my husband is able to speak alot of Spanish, and for any non-Spanish-speakers, Roger the manager is there to help, who was also great. The ocean was beautiful, the house was clean and beautiful, the locals are friendly and accommodating. This was a trip to remember. You know as you're nearing the end of a trip and you start feeling ready to go home? That did not happen for us. We both felt really sad to leave. We'll be back!

    Heather2014-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Elvia was incredibly patient and helpful in answering all our questions to determine whether Ruby Moon was the right place for us. As it turned out, Ruby Moon was just what we had in mind and we loved the space. The pictures online are very close to what it actually looks like. If anything, they don't do the place justice. It *is* right on the beach. We walked into town and took shuttles to the ruins to avoid driving (though renting a car next time may be better, as Elvia suggested). We especially liked that there were no clocks that we could see anywhere on the main floor. We woke up whenever and went to sleep whenever. It was a wonderful stay. Elvia, from the US, along with her charming staff in Mexico, went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Would definitely stay there again.

  • House is incredibly located and is pretty much impossible not to have a nice stay. We stayed for two weeks and we had a great time. Paulino, the gardener, was very helpful throughout our whole vacation. View is amazing and we had the chance to see turtles born many times. We rented a car so we could move around and worked perfectly, grocery store (Chedraui) is 10 km away and works perfect to store the groceries as soon as we checked in. Very close from Tulum, Puerto Aventuras and all the parks (Xel Ha, Xcaret, Xenses, Xplore), Playa del Carmen for a nice diner, overall very well located. Although house was great there are a few things that could help to improve: - We did receive access code to open lock on the very last day and it was at my request, given that no one has contacted me after I made the payment. - As a result, no one was aware of our visit, Manager of the house mentioned that he did receive a last minute call indicating him about our visit and did not have a chance to prepare a reception, there was only water available when we showed up. - Although the Air B&B app indicated that house had 12 services included, forgot to mention that TV does not work, there is no really a TV cable though, there is an extra charge if you want to use the laundry, just to mention some areas of opportunity. Anyways, with a house located right on the beach is hard not to have a nice time.

    Guillermo2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for a relaxing vacation. The beach is in a low traffic area and pool provides a great secluded area to get out of the sun in the late afternoon. I would highly recommend hiring Laura for a private dining experience as well.

Akumal Mexico is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Owners Sam and Marian, Anthony and Joan, and Kathy fell in love with the area and vacationed there for over 20 years. Together with their local friend and eventual partner Pio, they choose to build Amanecer Akumal. We personally chose every tile and the woodwork of a local carpenter to get the warmth you will feel as you enter the Condo unit. In Akumal, you will find many supermarkets, convenience stores, an open-air market, a taxi stand, and a variety small shops. There is also a gym which offers yoga classes. Scuba lessons and spectacular dives are available from three local shops. The ruins of Tulum and Coba are also just a short drive (20-40 minutes) away.

Hellas is the ancient name for GREECE, thus the Mediterranean decor. Upon entering from a private stairwell from the garden, the feeling is that of a cottage in Mykonos or Santorini. A garden path leads to the pool deck and beach.
Location! Villa Tajkumal is the only villa on the main Bay of Akumal. Step out a few paces onto the beach. Walk 2 minutes along the shore to Lolha restaurant and bar/ snack bar, dive shop, ecological center, shops, and more. Yet inside the walls of the villa there is privacy away from the crowds on a beautiful pool deck. The surroundings of Akumal offer jungle cenotes, mayan ruins, golf courses, and much more. Playa Del Carmen is 25 minutes by car due north. Cancun airport is 1 1/2 hours away. Tulum is 20 minutes south.
  • Myrna is very knowledgeable about the area, which is quite helpful if you haven't been there before. Hellas room was cute and clean, and everything - shower, tv, etc. - worked fine. It might be helpful to know that it is in the back, street-side of the complex, and though it does technically have a "garden-view" there is no place to really hang out there (no real balcony space to sit or good spot in the garden to sit). One does need to go to the pool area for that. The pool area is very nice, and access to the beach very easy. I would agree with other reviewers that the mattress in Hellas room is very hard. I am used to a pretty hard bed so normally that's not an issue for me. The restaurant for breakfast is good, right on the beach, and the continental breakfast is generous. Also you can use your breakfast coupon to take money off a more expensive breakfast; also nice.

  • Myrna was a great host. The house is beautiful, very well maintained and in a GREAT location. Probably the best location in Akumal, steps from the action but secluded and private.

    Collin2014-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location Loved the fact we had the pool area to ourselves and could step out onto beach to snorkel.

    Julia2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Even though she was out of town during our stay, Myrna was great at communicating by email and available for any questions. Her daughter showed us around the place--which was beautiful. Room, pool area, everything well-maintained and gorgeous. Great location on Akumal bay--and not ever crowded the first week of December--even mid-day. Transportation around Akumal Bay, Half Moon Bay and YalKu Lagoon was a fun bike ride.

    Lana2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great pool, clean, great communication with host who was very accomodation to our last minute plans.

    Heidi2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Location was great. Property was very clean and quiet. Pool area is lovely. Beach area in front of property is small with limited shade but the public beach is close if you prefer lots of people watching!

    Markey2016-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The property is absolutely beautiful, a true paradise just steps from the beach. Myrna was a perfect host, greeting us at the start, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The room was cool (important as you get close to the equator!) and clean. The private beach just outside the grounds was pristine. A small, secluded area with beach chairs and umbrellas. The location is perhaps the best part, perfectly located in the middle of the restaurants, bars and activities. The breakfast was delicious, set maybe 30 feet from the ocean. Our two favorite restaurants were both a few minutes walk away, La Buena Vida on the beach and Turtle Bay also had excellent food (don't forget the ice cream!). I would definitely recommend this property and we'll definitely be back!

    Vince2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Myrna's beautiful Hellas Room which is a 2 minute walk from the beach. We had a great time and wish that we'd stayed longer. We went snorkeling early in the morning and could see turtles about 3 metres from the shore. One tip: skip the included breakfast and get the fresh baked deliciousness from turtle Bay cafe, you won't regret it.

A beautiful newly built two room space right off the beach in beautiful Akumal, Mexico. Modern design characterizes the space with stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, and modern bathroom fixtures.
Newly built beach casita characterized by modern design with full air conditioning. The unit is located in North Akumal right on Half Moon Bay which is know for fantastic snorkeling, diving and its white sandy beach. The kitchen includes all stainless steel appliances, and glass cooktop with full kitchen capabilities. In the bedroom you will find the most comfortable adjustable Temperpedic mattress with vibration options. 60" 3D LED TV in the living room with access to all published TV shows, channels and movies for the movie buffs among us. Huge walk-in shower with raining shower head. Full modern bathroom with modern designs and fixtures. Space also includes front patio with shaded 'palapa' entry, as well as semi private beach access with hammock posts to hang in the sun or under the stars at night. Maid service is included for weekly or longer rentals.
Akumal has great restaurants just walking distance from the bungalow. Some of our favorites include: La Buena Vida, Que Onda, La Lunita and Turtle Bay Bakery for breakfast. Yalku lagoon is close by as well, for snorkeling and checking out the local marine life. Check out Akumal Dive Adventures next to La Buena Vida for fishing, diving and snorkeling.
  • Our stay was fantastic! The place was very nice, comfortable, clean, quiet, secure, and exactly as described. The only thing I wish the house would have had was a detailed manual! There is quite a bit of technology in the unit (relatively speaking), and though I am pretty savvy it would have helped the learning curve time a bit. That aside, the hosts were great and communicated well. The condo is right off the road on the beach side, tucked just behind the property owner's (project) home- about a 30 second walk around the side of the home to the beach on half-moon bay. Great snorkeling, we saw plenty of turtles. It's in a great location approx mid way along half-moon bay, but if you don't have a rental car I would advise renting bikes or a golf cart. I would highly recommend it to anyone who were looking to save a few bucks by sacrificing the direct beach front view without losing any of the other amenities. In fact I'd guess the condo and building probably have more comfort, function, and space than just about any of the other (bigger name) rental spot units in the area.

  • Alena was a rock star! Loved the location, the apartment and the beach - it felt like our very own private getaway. Alena's suggestions made our day trip to Tulum absolutely perfect. Amazing host!

  • Overall so many things were very good, but we had one issue that put a damper on the whole experience. First the good. The place is just as described and photographed. Modern amenities. A/C. Good location...roughly 40 yards from the beach and a 5 min walk to La Buena Vida bar. Quiet. Private. Well decorated. They even welcomed us with a shot of their favorite tequila. Communication with the host was great both before and during our visit. Only thing that wasn't on point was the dim lighting in the bedroom. Not really an issue of any consequence. Can't really ask for much more here. Now the not so good. The hot water heater broke a few days before we arrived. It was supposed to be fixed before we arrived, but turned out to be unfixable during our entire visit. So, we took frigid showers or walked 10 min to a friend's rental and showered there. The host was apologetic and did everything they could to have it fixed, but it simply wasn't in the cards. Not their fault, but certainly not great for us. Had we had hot water, this would be a 5-star review. In reality our experience was probably a 3-star. So, a 4-star it is! Once the water heater is fixed, I'd recommend staying here.

  • The Cozy Beach Bungalow in akumal was great. Although not directly on the beach, it was just a few steps away. The bungalow was a modern two room design with all the amenities you need, including a VERY comfortable bed. We had met some people who were staying down the way at another hotel and they could not believe how nice our bungalow was compared to where they were staying. We really enjoyed our trip. Thank you!

  • Short version: we recommend the apartment and will like to stay there again if we go back to Akumal. Long version: Alena and Coriolan's apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures, and we found it very comfortable for accommodating two people. We also found other reviews accurate and useful in general. In particular, the beach there is a bit rocky so we recommend guests to bring water shoes for swimming. The apartment is located in Akumal Norte, around 10 minutes walk from Laguna Yal-Ku and around 20 minutes walk from Akumal Centro (the bay in which one can see turtles is in Akumal Centro). We found the location of the apartment to be optimal, as Akumal Norte is very quiet. There are not many restaurants near the apartment, but the fully equipped kitchen and the large refrigerator where enough for us. There is a mini market in front of the apartment and a couple of supermarkets in Akumal Centro, but none of them carry too many products. We had a car, so we ended up at a Chedraui supermarket in Tulum (30 min from the apartment by car, a must visit). Finally, we didn't try to contact much Alena and Coriolan, as we had no problems. Nonetheless they contacted us a couple of days before our arrival and answer a couple of questions we had in reasonable time.

  • Had a great 9-day trip at the bungalow. The goal of my trip was to get in as much scuba diving as I could while also working a normal work day and the place did not disappoint. The Internet was adequate for me to perform my day to day duties (I work in cybersecurity) and the dive shop was a short 15 minute walk south. La Lunita and Buena Vida, two excellent restaurants, were both within a five minute walk of the bungalow and the proximity of a mini-mart across the street was very convenient. The bungalow was exactly what I was looking for!

    Alfredo2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our stay in Akumal. It's easy to get to, very well located and really well maintained. The bed was super comfy and the huge shower was nice after a day at the beach. It's a quick drive and walk to the main area of Akumal and a short walk along the beach to La Buena Vida beachside restaurant. Wifi was pretty spotty so don't plan on coming here to work but overall it was great!

    Zoe2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to find and such a great option if you are looking to get the most out of a stay at Akumal. Having a rental car made it so much fun to explore the whole area around Akumal and Tulum. Making the extra drive to Coba ruins is worth it.

My place is 1 km away from Akumal Bay which is famous for its turtle watch and nesting season, as well within the property we have a cenote to refresh on hot days and daily yoga classes! It is close to great views, restaurants and dining, the beach, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the neighborhood, the comfy bed and the great staff. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
  • Lovely and enjoying place. Rooms are beautiful and we sleep very well in the jungle hut ! The spirit is Namaste, relaxing and ecology. We stayed there for 3 nights, to do snorkeling in the sea ( we have seen beautiful turtles and fishes), but also snorkeling in the lagune, eating Mexican food and seafood, biking, spend time on the heavenly beach, ...there is no need to have a car, because bikes ( free in the glamping) and shuttles are present and allows you to go in each important places. We received a lot of good advices from Lorena. ( restaurant, cocktail bar with happy hour and cocktails for 1,5€, activities, free snorkeling in the beach if you have your equipment ,...) All the team is present to give you the best. We spend a relaxing and refreshing time in the glamping. We sincerely recommend it ! A little bit further of the glamping road ( about 6 km) , the owner of the place can suggest you to visit is ranch (uma), which is in the middle of the jungle, and where animals and nature are managed with ecological mind. ( beautiful trees , animals and cenote)

    Julien2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Love the Glamping and the access to the cenote! The tents the are beautiful and everyone that works there is so nice and welcoming. The bikes are great and more than essential! And what to say about their massage therapist Adrian! A must!!!! Although.... the beds could of been much more comfortable for the price( springs in your back)

    Marie-Eve2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time glamping. We should have had our clothes in just one suitcase if we had known how long the walk to our cabana was. Very off the beaten track. If you have trouble finding the place follow the signs for the monkey sanctuary.

    Deborah2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The glamping space is lovely, perfect for nature lovers. Friendly staff, delicious fresh food and fantastic yoga teachers! In a quiet location in the jungle but accessible to the beach by the rental bikes!

  • Loved our stay - just wish it was for longer! Friendly people & great nights sleep. Cenote was a bonus.

  • Such a wonderful place to get in touch with nature. If you are looking to get away from the big resorts .the cenote on the property is really beautiful and perfect for a cool down. Yoga was great In The morning and the kitchen and dining area is just right for getting a meal together for you and the other guests. Wonderful walks through the jungle and it just felt like home.

  • YOU HAVE TO STAY AT AKUMAL NATURA GLAMPING! It's a great place to get away from civilization and enjoy nature. The accommodation is as described and pictured. There is a beautiful cenote in the property to cool down from the heat. The free breakfast and yoga are great perks! There is also dinner for an extra charge - very authentic and delicious. There are free bikes available to check out the town and the beach (~10 min ride; beware there are hills). Also, there is security at night. Staying here was one of my favorite part of our stay in Akumal. It's a unique experience that is one for the books - so book!

Our cozy studio apartment is located in the center of the charming 'Half Moon' bay. Ideal for couples, friends and retirees who enjoy the tranquility of the private beach. It is also super practical for families with children because the house is in the first row facing the sea.
The apartment boasts of a complete comfort for everyone, cuanto is located on the ground floor of a small building facing the sea. As owners of the apartment we take advantage of the daily services of a specialized agency in the field. Customers can use at their discretion, the daily cleaning service, which is included in the price.
Those who visit Mexico basically does it for the lovely Caribbean sea. Akumal also is known for its close encounters that you may have with turtles, including the period of laying eggs and hatching of small turtles. In the area there are 5 very nice restaurants with good food. also comfortable the mini market to buy basic items.
  • Great value on a pretty bay in Akumal. We will stay there again. If you aren't planning on cooking meals other than snacks n sandwiches it has everything you need. 15 steps from the backdoor to the beach. Thanks Alice.

    Jeff2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfectly charming! The location on Halfmoon bay is fantastic and it is an easy walk to La Buena Vida and into Akumal itself. The view from the little patio was fantastic and the best part is the sound of the waves funnel down the pathway from the beach so you can fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean every night! The breeze also funnels down the pathway so we didn't turn the air conditioner on at all. The maid service was spectacular. She did dishes, made the bed and did light cleaning so that was very nice and still gave a bit of a vacation feeling even though we did some light cooking. The pillows on the bed were fantastic and comfy. The hot water in the shower was a little over zealous but I would rather that than it be unreliable as it's easily adjustable. I highly recommend this place if you love Akumal and love snorkeling Halfmoon bay. Everybody is just lovely and nice and I am sure we will be back in the near future!

  • We made a 10 day vacation starting with 2 days in Cancun, 2 days in Playa and 3 days in Akumal and 3 days in Tulum. We wish we would have spent the whole 10 days here in Alice's condo, it has been so absolutely perfect!!! The condo is equipped with towels, a kitchenette, AC, housekeeping service. The restaurant, La Buena Vita is wonderful, must try the coconut shrimp!!! We got to watch some thunderstorms at night which we're so beautiful as the entire bay was lit up. The beach was perfect with nice beach chairs, beach-towels that were provided and your own palapa. And not too far from the back door if you need to run to the bathroom or refresh your drink! On two different nights, turtles came and laid their eggs within 50-70 feet of our door!!! Alice was in communication with us to ensure everything was going well, she is an excellent hostess!!! We were so impressed with this place, we will come back someday and we will tell all of our friends to stay here at Alice's condo!!!! :)

    Janelle2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is neat and clean and very well appointed!

    Susan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Alice's place was exactly what we were looking for. Our own beachfront little house. We did almost all our own cooking and ate out on the patio with the ocean breeze and gorgeous sun. Playa Blanca is the perfect place - easy walk to Ya Kul lagoon (go early) or to play in Akumal (best reefs are in front of Secrets, then head out towards the sea grass and you'll see rays and turtles. Lock up your things in the Dive Shop and grab a life jacket from there. Just leave your fins at home.) A quick collectivo ride to Playa del Carmen or Tulum, or book a day trip to Coba, Xichen Itza, Xcaret or Xel-Ha or the dozens of other cenotes. Everything is really close. But the best part of Playa Blanca is the private beach - the whole week there was at most 6 people in Half Moon Bay. It's your own private paradise. A few tips: Getting to Half Moon Bay is a bit tricky as we found many of the cab drivers weren't sure how to get to Akumal from the airport (or were charging an absolute fortune!) Skip the cabs and grab the ADO bus near the far end of the departures area. It's cheap and will take you to Playa del Carmen. From there, you can take either a collectivo or taxi to Akumal (we found screenshots of maps helpful). Akumal is environmentally conscious, so make sure you have biodegradable/reef friendly sunscreen and watch out for turtle nests along the beach around Half Moon Bay. If you want food, Supermarket Chomak in Akumal has food, but your best bet is the Walmart in Playa del Carmen. Only thing we needed was some cooking oil. We took a tour by Akumal Elements to Xichen Itza and was pretty fun (Usually we like to do things on our own, but I'm glad we went on a tour. Ours was only 6 adults and two kids, we went to a secluded underground cenote and a town excursion, and we were the only group around. Xichen Itza is not set up for a self guided tour, so having someone explain things made things much more enjoyable.) Next time we'll definitely check out the Jeep tour to Sian Ka'an and Tulum. Or if you want to just spend your time in the neighbourhood, there's bikes for rent next door and hit up the bar and patio at La Buena Vida that's a few houses down. Or... just lie back under the palapa and soak it all in. We absolutely loved our time at Playa Blanca and Alice was such a great host. Quick communication and answered all our questions. The staff at Playa Blanca keep the place spotless, and we tried to do our part as well. Still so much to see and do - we'll definitely be back! Our love affair with Half Moon Bay has just started :) Thanks Alice!

    Jonathan2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a treasure, not more that a small group of travelers needs (Studio place) yet right in the heart of the Akumal area and just 50 (?) meters from the Beach. We truly enjoyed our stay here and found it very central for all the activities we planned in the Playa Del Carmen and Tulum area. Alice is very fast and clear at communication which is very helpful. We loved it!

    Alan2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Alice's place was perfect! Just what the pictures show. It was very relaxing, on a less busy part of the beach. Would for sure stay here again or suggest to a friend.

    Haily2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was and looked as described, and right next to one of the best beaches on the Riviera Maya, however, that was it. Upon walking in, a strong smell of mold hit me and my companion, a sign that the place was not fit for habitation, in particular for someone with allergies like myself, Further, upon placing an apple I was munching on the kitchen counter, it was swarmed with ants. In any city of the world, it is an apartment considered inhabitable by local authorities. We communicated with the owner, Alice, who responded promptly. She sent a caretaker to take notice of the situation and see if it could be fixed but mold could not be cleaned quick and we let Alice know. She responded with an email inviting us to a free dinner IF we stayed. We decided NOT TO ACCEPT. Since implicit on such communication was the choice, that it was up to us to accept or not, that is to stay or not, we cancelled but she still refuses to refund our money, offering spurious excuses. By far the worse experience I've had since I started renting through airbnb.

The studio is maintained by a management company that also manages La Joya. Upon arrival, go to La Joya reception for a key to the studio. If the reception is closed, the contact information is on the door of the reception. The security guard for La Joya will get you the key after the reception is closed. Be sure to look for him since he may be walking around the buildings. It is best to let the host know of your approximate arrival time in order to alert the reception. The host does not live in the area. During the off season (May to November), the rate is reduced to $65 or special offer for an extended stay. Beach access through La Joya condos. The pool at La Joya is for the La Joya guests only, and not for the studio guests. Parking available next to the the building. Fully equipped kitchen with cooking stove and microwave. A small reference library on the nature and history of the area. Bikes, snorkel set, and safety jackets available for rent from La Joya office. Additional maid service upon request The host does not live in the area. The communications through the internet is welcome. Getting from Cancun Airport to Akumal: Akumal is about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of Cancun airport on Riviera Maya coast in the state of Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mexico. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car or shuttle from the airport. Even though your destination is my Simple and Clean Studio, you need to tell the shuttle driver that you are going to La Joya in Half Moon Bay/Akumal. There are no addresses or street names and people know where to go by the name of the established condos. By Shuttle Service We have used USA Transfers (Cancun Airport Transfers) with excellent results. You go to the website below and make a reservation. For Hotel name, enter La Joya Condos, Half Moon Bay, Akumal. http://www.entertainment-plus.net/affiliates/transfers/akumal-transfers.asp?affid=1082 They will pick you up at the airport and drive you to Akumal. My studio is across the street from La Joya Condo and is managed by the same people who manage La Joya. If you purchase round trip shuttle service, the shuttle will also pick you up at the studio and take you back to the airport on the specified date and time. The gas price has gone up in Mexico last year and as of February the shuttle round trip charge is around $170 plus you tip the driver in cash. At the Cancun airport, there are many companies offering ground transportation at a fixed price per person. Prices change frequently. Signs indicate that you must purchase tickets for ground transportation at the stands inside the airport (after clearing customs). Sometimes (particularly off season) you might be able to negotiate a better rate outside on the curb. By Car There is only one road from the Cancun airport to Akumal, Hwy 307, the coastal highway. It is a well-constructed 4-lane divided highway from Cancún all the way to Tulum. When you get out of the airport area and come to the highway, go South (right turn) towards Chetumal. The major towns after the airport are: Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal (and then Tulum). From the Cancún airport, it takes about an hour and 15 minutes to Akumal. After passing Puerto Aventuras and their overpass bridge, in about 10 minutes look for a sign for Akumal and a pedestrian bridge over the highway. They have the unusual left turn from the highway into Akumal so please remember the following: IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP: The Akumal resort is to the left (East) of the highway. As you near Akumal, stay on the left lane. As you drive under the Akumal pedestrian bridge and the overpass bridge, go another 50 to 100 yards on the left lane that will turn in to a U-turn lane into the on-coming traffic. Make a U turn and go back 50-100 yard and turn Right towards the entry way to Akumal. Drive along the road, you will soon see Super Chomak supermarket on the right and in front of you, a narrow turtle "gate" entry to the resort of Akumal. Akumal means “place of turtles” in Maya. After you pass the narrow entry, you can only turn left (North). Continue on towards Half Moon Bay. There are many speed bumps called TOPES so drive slowly. You will pass La Buena Vida restaurant with dinosaur skeletons on the right. Drive for a few more minutes and look for La Joya Condominiums on the right side of the road. Park on the lot across the street from La Joya, and check in with La Joya reception. They are expecting you. If you arrive after 6 pm, when the office closes, they give La Joya security guard an instruction for the key. My building is across the street from La Joya, first/ground floor. By Taxi and Bus There are only shuttles and no taxis from Cancun Airport, but you can take a taxi to the airport from Akumal. Unfortunately we don't have much experience arriving in Akumal on public bus from Cancun to Akumal so please do your own on-line research. There is a 1st class bus, ADO to Playa del Carmen (half way to Akumal) from the airport. It seems to run once an hour or so. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Playa del Carmen, you can take a taxi to Akumal-Half Moon Bay for a lot less than the shuttle. You can take a taxi to Tulum and from Tulum you can get ADO bus to a large city like Merida. For your return trip to the airport, you can take a taxi from Akumal to the airport for about $80. Day before your departure, go to the taxi stall by the main entrance across from Super Chomak supermarket and make an arrangement with a taxi driver to pick you up at a certain time. Taxi rates along the coast are fixed, but be sure to agree on the fee before you start. Remember to include a tip in cash for the driver. Taxis are available in all towns and most tourist destinations, so if you don’t plan on renting a car, it is possible to travel by taxi. You can even hire them for the day. The driver will wait for you and may even make some good recommendations. On foot from highway bus stop in Akumal When you get off the bus at Akumal, walk on the pedestrian bridge to cross the highway. It is about a 1/3 mile walk to the archway entrance of Akumal from the highway, and then another 1 mile to the studio. You can usually find taxis by the archway if you want to ride the last leg. Notice Super Chomak on the right. After passing under the arch, and if you can resist not taking a peek at the beautiful white sand beach and palm trees of Akumal Bay, take an immediate left and continue on the road for about a mile. After you pass Buena Vida restaurant on the right, in about 5 minutes, start looking for a condo called “La Joya” (pronounced La Hoya). Go to the manager’s office at La Joya for the key. My studio building is across the street from La Joya. There is no sign to our building. Our unit is managed by the same people who manage La Joya. The studio guests have the access to the beach through La Joya, but not to the swimming pool. Please see "Getting around" section for the direction to the studio from Cancun airport. My studio building has no name. You have to go by La Joya Condo across the street. La Joya is located on the mid-section of the half-moon shaped bay.
Unlike Cancun, Akumal is a quieter village-like resort. There is only one road from the main part of Akumal to Half Moon Bay and Yalku Lagoon to the north so you really can't get lost. In general the neighborhood is safe and quiet, mostly families and couples. There are two restaurants with in 5 minutes walk from the studio: La Buena Vida to the south and La Lunita to the north, inside Hacienda La Tortuga. There are couple of stores that stock up groceries, beer, wine etc. and several restaurants in the main Akumal. The favorites are: Turtle Bay Bakery, La Cueva, Lol Ha Beach Bar. It is very casual and nobody dresses up in Akumal. The area you are in is the resort part of Akumal. If you go back toward the entrance and cross the highway, you will enter the small town of Akumal Pueblo where local Mexicans live. There are some small restaurants and stores there.
  • Just as advertised. Clean, well equipped and well located. I have no hesitation to recommend this condo

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Akumal, and in the studio. It's right across from the beach and close to YalKu. The studio was really nice and we loved the terrace! It was a great choice for us. Thank you !

  • We really enjoyed our week in this studio apartment. It's a one-room arrangement. The kitchen had everything we required to cook simple meals, the bed was firm and very comfortable. The shower works well and is pleasant, we had enough hot water. Everything is very clean, and the management people across the road were SO helpful answering questions, renting us bicycles, refilling the drinking water as soon as we asked, etc. It is a very simple and plain place in an older concrete building, nothing fancy. It is quiet and tranquil, but just across the road and through a condo building is the beach. One cannot see the water form the studio, but the little terrace looks out on the mangroves and is peaceful. This is not a place of excitement or partying. We certainly hope to return to this place next year and enjoy the serenity.

  • Kyoko was extremely accomodating. the room gets cleaned ever 2 or 3 days and we requested daily. Kyoko made it happen. The blinds were broken and we asked for a privacy curtain. Done next day. she was intending on doing it anyways! kyoko made it happen. the community is sleepy. beach access is right across the road and the studio is quiet. love it. what more could you ask for?

  • We spent a very enjoyable stay at Marilu's appartment and warmly recommend it. The appartment is very well equipped and couldn't be better located, right on the beach, with a good restaurant litterally next door.

  • This was a fabulous location and space for our family of 5. It is exactly as described and more beautiful than the photos. We loved it. Loved the beach, the daily maid service, Roberto (the Hacienda La Tortuga Manager), La Lunita and La Beuna Vida, excursions we took. We would return in a heartbeat. Marilu is a gracious hostess.

  • The location of this condo was great, right on the beach and with a nice pool. We were diving at Akumal Dive Shop and this was very convenient.

    Cali2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at Marilu's place with my family! The condo is super comfortable and very well equipped, starting from the kitchen. Towels and beach towels are provided. There are also pool toys, snorkels, board games and even a grill! Wifi works really well. The condo is perfectly located, just a few steps from the pool and the beach. There's an awesome restaurant just next door and a few small convenience stores nearby. Akumal beach is beautiful and is strategically located to explore the Riviera. Don't miss Yal-ku lagoon! Marilú is a great host and I would definitely recommend her place!

  • Me and my friend are travelling around Mexico. And before we went to Akumal, we were in Tulum. When we booked the room in Ekabs place, he told us that he can pick us up from Tulum, which was very nice and kind! His place is very close to the beach in Akumal, the house is veeeeery nice, even nicer that the pictures. The only point is that the kitchen equipment is quite poor, but i would recommend that place for sure! Ekab is veery helpful with everything. We were satisfied!

    Asla2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time at Ekabs place. We were swimming with the turtles, and snorkling at the beautiful reef just outside the beach. The apartment is really nice. The beach is very crowded, but if you walk a little further it is much less people

    Helena2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The main positives of this listing is the location, accessing the beach to swim with turtles and the La Buena Vida beach club on the other beach and the nearby restaurants, especially the bakery cafe really made our stay. Unfortunately the apartment wasn't as great as the location. We encountered an issue with hot water supply to our shower on the first night and were advised to try again in the morning. The shower was unable to be fixed so we were moved to another room and refunded one night which was greatly appreciated, the new room did not have a kitchen so we could either use our other room or the family kitchen. Whilst this issue was not the fault of Ekab it was the communication of the process where we felt disappointed, having to locate his parents to find our whats going on and then find them to say we were leaving and obtain the refund. Regardless of the hot water issue we felt that the cleanliness of the bed linen was poor with stains and a general musty smell in both rooms. Additionally in the original property there are no curtains on the windows in the bedroom or kitchen area where you walk through from the bathroom to the bedroom.

    Louise2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ekab was very attentive and very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. He also speaks English very well, which was helpful as we don't speak Spanish. The place itself was just amazing. We enjoyed our breakfast every day with the amazing view of the ocean. In front of the house the beach is rocky (but therefore there also secluded). However, it is just a 5min walk to Akumal beach where we snorkeled and saw turtles and a manta ray or sting ray (something like that... not sure about how to distinguish them ;). All in all a perfect stay.

    Alexander2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect getaway for two! We liked that is was close to the tourist area, with privacy away from the crowds, we enjoyed the scenic view of the coastline with no tourists or other guests, beautiful sunrises, quiet and peaceful, patio to lounge in the sun or to enjoy that afternoon glass of wine. The apartment is comfortable with a very large bed, and a full kitchen, with refrigerator and stove, and is close to many local restaurants and snorkeling with the turtles. The host, Ekab is nice and knowledgeable of the areas attractions and restaurants. When we plan our next trip to Akumal we would love to stay again.

    Zaine2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, nearby fantastic beach

    Jeannette2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ekab was a nice, welcoming host. We enjoyed our stay in Akumal. He was always a phone call/text/email away if we needed anything. The place was clean, with very minimal amenities. The neighborhood was really pretty and a short walk into the small town of Akumal. All the restaurants within walking distance were delicious! Very good food and drinks with very friendly people. The apartment itself is not situated on the ocean, but it is a short walk to a shared terrace over looking the ocean. This particular area is not good for swimming, but it's a beautiful view. The swimming beach is another short walk around the corner of the little neighborhood. The furniture in the place is nice. There are two twin beds in the loft area, which was a bit of a surprise since I was going off of the pictures that were posted and the description of the sleeping arrangements. Next time I will double check the bed situation. ;) Not necessarily good for "hanging out" in the apartment, but who wants to do that anyway!! We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the ease of getting around between Akumal and Tulum. It is a short shuttle ride in every direction to get out and explore the area!

    Amy2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Akumal. The house was a cozy little place that was an easy 5-10 walk to the turtle beach. It was also very close to some great restaurants. It was extremely hot and humid, but we knew that going into the trip. We would definitely return (probably during a less humid time though).

Right on the beach. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
  • Beautiful apartment in an ideal location. Having the beach restaurant bar two minutes away and the little store right there while still being on quiet Half Moon Bay was ideal. The apartment layout was great--two nice sized bedrooms with two lovely full baths in between. And the view from the balcony and rooftop were just stunning. We couldn't stop staring at that Caribbean water and those palm trees (and the 8 turtle nests) right outside! The grounds were also impeccably kept and the groundskeeper and housekeeper were very friendly and kind.

  • After months of planning, my wife, son and I arrived in Akumal around 7 pm only to find out that Todd had double booked his condo, #4, and we had no place to stay. The nice competent local property manager, who manages many condos in the area, found us an available condo, #5, in the same building owned by someone else. Todd said, "Richard this is terrible, and all my fault.". He offered us a place in Tulum, 30 minutes away and not on the beach. (We came to Mexico to be on the beach.) I knew unit #5 was available; why couldn't Todd use the money we paid him for #4 to rent #5? Todd said it was $40 more per night and he was unwilling to pay that much to fix his mistake. He said we should split the extra cost. I encouraged him to be responsible and pay the whole extra cost. I assured Todd that if we could stay in #5 at the same price I would not write a bad review. Finally I agreed to split the extra cost but then he canceled our reservation entirely. The next day I found another place to stay. I also found out it was really only $20 more per night to stay in #5, not $40. Todd is incompetent and not responsible. Your whole trip can be ruined by him. Stay away! Everyone else I have encountered in Akumal is quite nice.

    Richard2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is wonderfully located -- literally right on the gorgeous white sand beach in Akumal, across the street from a little grocery store and pharmacy, with plenty of restaurants and activities (cenotes, snorkeling, etc.) nearby. The area is very safe and the people at the apartment management company (alas we didn't get to meet Todd in person!) were absolutely lovely, and offered to help us with anything we need. Todd's apartment itself has a stunning view of the ocean, just like in the pictures! It is spacious and clean, with a well-equipped kitchen (including drinking water, coffee maker, blender for smoothies, etc), spacious and modern bathrooms. Our one small complaint is that at the time of this review there is another apartment building being built right next door, so during the day there is some construction noise. This didn't bother us because we were out most of the day. Overall a wonderful experience at Todd's!

    Daniel2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time to the Quintana Roo area of Mexico and it was our best experience. The condo turned out better in person and is very spacious - a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo large enough for our family. The oceanfront view from the patio was amazing in person. The condo is situated on a beautiful location along Akumal's Half Moon Bay, steps away from the beach! My wife and I love turtles and were at home among the many turtle nests on the sand. One night while walking along the beach, a turtle protector volunteer allowed us to watch one of the large sea turtles lay eggs - it was MAGICAL. We also loved going to the beachfront restaurant, La Buena Vida, every day which was only a short walk from the condo. We were close to little markets, shops, and Akumal Beach as well. Although there was construction work being done on the building next door, it did not bother us much. Todd was very responsive and helpful to any questions or concerns that we had. We cannot wait to go back!

    Steven2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Todd's house is very comfortable and just on the beach. He told us that there were construction works just close to the home. However, during the Eastern they did not work. Snorkeling in the bay is amazing, I saw turtles, cuttlefishes, and the amazing reef. We enjoyed a lot!

    Javier2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Every thing was awesome , near to a beautiful see, we saw turtles and a lot of different sea animals , I will rent again with Todd in a second , plus he was in touch at any time and I want to say thank you for that.

    Victor Hugo2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Todd was great to respond to questions and the check-in/check-out process was very easy. Great spot on Half-moon Bay (just be aware that this area is rockier than Akumal Bay). We were able to watch a turtle lay her eggs right out the back of the place, snorkeled in the bay and felt a real sense of privacy in this area. Be ready for warm nights in the master bedroom this time of year since the room is semi-open to the living room, and the living room is not air conditioned. Also, the ongoing construction next door can be a bit noisy and it limits the privacy in the bathroom (must keep the window closed). Overall, it's a nice, centrally located spot that's good for exploring Akumal, Tulum and Chemuyil.

    Nate2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unless you enjoy crowds, Half Moon Bay is hard to beat. The beach is for the most part used only by the occupants living there, and there are a limited number of them. Todd's place is almost in the center, so there is always a beautiful view and many a gorgeous sunrise to be seen.

  • Justin's place was great! We loved the big pool so close to the condo and loved the Zen feel of the quiet & airy condo. It was super convenient to go with our rental car to Akumal & Tulum & access to the Bahia Principe was great for the children as well. Highly recommend the place and the host, Justin was always available if we had questions. Thank you!

If you are traveling with children you can access the Bahía Príncipe Tulum which is wonderful. Moreover, you can enjoy the pool found directly at the complex. You definitely need a car, not only if you stay here, but at most places in the Riviera Maya. Great place, great host! Thanks Justin.

  • Justin's place is great for couples or groups. It is clean and very comfortable. Although I just checked it out and didn't stay there for the entire time since I wanted to be with my friends, it would have been a great experience for me since there is access to golf carts going to two big hotels. Thank you, Justin for adjusting with my schedule. Your manager Jose was awesome. Please thank him for taking time time to see us even for a short period of time and for offering that I could come anytime. Gracias!

  • This place was great for us. It was spotless and an easy drive from the Cancun airport. The apartment is in a very safe location that requires passing two guard checkpoints. I highly recommend renting a car if you plan to stay here as it will let you come and go without waiting for taxis or the in-resort shuttles. Also, if you plan to use the all-inclusive meal packages, spend the extra $10 per person and go with the "luxury" option; there is a vast difference between the quality of the food, service, and facilities. Lastly, Stephane, the property manager was attentive and a great resource as to how to get around and what local attractions are nearby. We felt very comfortable asking him any questions from the mundane (e.g. "How to get gas") to how to catch the boxing match on PPV. In all, a great place and great group of people to have as airbnb host. Next time we go back to Cancun, this is our first option for lodging.

Both options are provided by the blue and yellow taxi lines available at the airport (you will most likely be approached by taxi line representatives as you exit the airport). • The apartment is great! Matt have equipped with everything you need even with things would you need, very clean and nice, is much nice than the pictures.

    Diego2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Matt was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Although Matt was not at the property himself his property managers were easy to reach and made our stay very comfortable. The apartment is within a private community that is attached to a large resort complex. We did not make extensive use of the resort facilities but it was nice to have the option. The apartment is located a very short drive from Akumal and a little further in the opposite direction to Tulum, Playa Del Carmen can be reached in well under an hour as well. If you have a car this is a fantastic place to stay, the apartment is large and well equipped for a short or extended stay.

  • The condo is indeed beautiful and as depicted in the photos, and as described. Matt was super responsive to my questions and sent some really helpful info in advance of our arrival. It is a great location, close to great beaches, cenotes, archeological and ecological sites, shopping etc but as others have noted you really do need to have your own/hire car to be fully mobile and get around. The resort is huge and we found it a bit overwhelming. One visit to the beach hotel complex was enough for us and when not exploring outside the resort we stayed in Tao. I enjoyed the morning yoga classes at Tao Wellness Centre (suitable for all levels, mats provided but in a horrible state, many needing replacing). We tried a few of the food outlets in the resort and wouldn't recommend any of them. But there are good restaurants in Akumal and Tulum, and Matt's apartment is well equipped for self catering.

  • Great location...very clean...Bahia Principe is a really nice property...golf, beach, spa, restaurants... Don't forget your car...the property is massive and the shuttles erratic...

  • The apartment is beautiful and the access to the grand bahia is perfect! We enjoyed our stay there a lot and hope to repeat soon!

  • Great stay!! This is a beautiful condo just as pictures, in a wonderful setting. Beautiful pools, wellness center, landscaping... Condo was clean, has everything one needs including shampoo, shower gel, detergent for the washer and dryer, extra set of sheet and towels... Betty and Tania were wonderful, met us upon arrival and addressed our questions and requests literally immediately. Would definitely recommend if you want to explore Akumal (5min drive) and Tulum areas (20min drive).

  • We spent 2 glorious weeks in Jose's and Astrid's unit and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit is clean, well equiped and peaceful. The golfing, although very challenging, was exceptional and the staff throughout the resort were excellent. Arranged a trip to Akumal Bay to swim with the turtles....what a great experience. Big shout out to Stephane as well who was always available when needed. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

  • We stayed at the condo for our honeymoon and it was perfect! I think more than two people would make the condo too crowded. The condo was just perfect for my husband and I. We bought food and cooked mostly and enjoyed Netflix. The balcony is beautiful! You have lots and pans to cook with and even some spices! We didn't get a car because we stayed poolside mostly. If you're looking to explore the area a car is needed but there are also taxis you cam use. There is a tranat can take you to the pools and the beach which is very nice! We just wanted to relax and enjoy each other so not having a car was no issue. I'd definitely recommend this condo for two people who are just looking to relax!

  • A wonderful and relaxing holiday at TAO apartments. We stayed there for 10 days in the beginning of November and were the first clients to stay at the apartment. Josie made sure it was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need from a new umbrella to resort soaps and shampoos. What is great is: very modern and clean private balcony overlooking the golf course with canopy (some overlook the parking lot of face other units) excellent appliances hot water on demand plenty of parking outside of the building relaxing pool with a large BBQ to use. We enjoyed a hamburger with the security guard. They are all very friendly. Keep in mind it is a cosy apartment. We were 2 adults and 2 children ages 5, 10. it was perfect for us, but not likely to be a good fit for 2 older children who might want some privacy so keep that in mind. We were met at the entrance with keys and shortly after arriving we were visited by a concierge who answered any questions. Everything was smooth sailing!! Now, as for advice for the area. You need a car. It can be done without, if your goal is to wait for the extended golf carts to take you to the resorts to use the pool and beach. You will need to pay transportation to any activities or excursions. The good news is renting a car in Mexico is a piece of cake!! We registered a car through "Easy Way" online. They send someone to the airport to pick you up with a sign. They drive you the 5 mins to the lot and "voila" you get your car. The best part is, they don't try to sell you everything you don't need like the airport rental companies. When we returned the car, they even returned us to the airport with the car we rented so we didn't need to unpack all of our luggage. Note: driving in Akumal is soooo easy. You will not get lost. Everything (including the airport) you need is off the main highway the 307. This includes, Xel-Ha (a must), Xcaret (even better) and all the private Cenotes (the best part of our trip), mexican grocery stores, and most importantly, YOUR APARTMENT. Akumal has so much to offer. We have been all over Mexico and this was by far the best trip. You have the access to the resorts property, but are able to explore and really make the trip your own. We will be back as soon as we can and we will stay here again. Huge thank-you to Josie for everything. Especially checking up on us when we were there! :)

  • This condo is brand new, priced right, and includes many of the amenities of the resort it is located on. It was a great place to stay on Riviera Maya, and close to awesome beaches. The hosts were wonderful and helpful. Highest recommendation.

  • We had an amazing time! Astrid was easy to communicate with and the condo was the perfect place to enjoy a week in the sand and sun of the Riviera Maya. We really enjoyed the TAO beach club and the added use of the hotel pools and beaches was amazing. The bed was super comfortable and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We were even surprised by a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Jose and Astrid! We will definitely be back soon!

  • Our holiday in Akumal was truly lovely. The property is exactly what you see in the pictures...stunning. Very comfortable and the surroundings just relaxing, lots of green, calm, the infinity pool is just steps away and very relaxing. We could use the facilities of the TAO complex, where the property is. Good wellness center and spa. The town of Akumal is only 5-10 minutes away by car (You need a car to move around)...sandy beaches, sea turtles peacefully swimming within metres once you go in the water. There´s a very professional and well organised Diver center right there on Akumal beach (lovely dives!) and good restaurants: "La cueva del pescador" and "La buena vida" are both highly recommended. The owner was in contact with us and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. José is the property manager, very friendly and resourceful guy with lots of suggestions and quick to answer any questions we had. We would definitely choose this property again if we ever return to this part of the world. Highly recommended.

This is a new 2 bedroom, 2 bath Luxury Garden Condo located in the newest and hottest development on the Riviera Maya. Tao is a premier wellness oriented community inside the fabulous Gran Bahia Principe Resort and Golf Club.
  • the place is amazing. It is in a golf club in a very quiet and green area. it has all the facilities that you need but you need a car in order to make things easier. Walking distance you can find a wellness center with a gym and small snack bar. I would strongly recommend for families or couple who like tranquility.

  • Robert was excellent with communication, answering my questions and helping to arrange for a free crib. He deserves a 5 star for that! The condo was very clean and had everything in it you will need. The accommodations description was accurate; however there is construction going on and can be a bit confusing because of all the different resorts and shuttles. We had conflicting info from some of the resorts, but overall we figured it out. We preferred finding our own beach clubs and restaurants so I highly recommend a car. It was nice to have our own space away from all the people. It is on the jungle side; however the resorts are accessible by free shuttles and the beaches close by. The pool is a bit cold that is part of Tao, but great for kids. We wished we had more options with restaurants within our area so we didn't have to always drive. The best one by us did not allow children so we ended up driving out to find places.
