Acton Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Acton

Perfect for cozy stays away from it all, our comfortable cabin has its own private entrance, private bath with steam room, a skylight, and a wood-burning fireplace stove all just steps from the river, great walks, history, and outdoor sports.
Very near the Sudbury River just a 30-minute drive from Boston and Cambridge, we have a 2-room private cabin with its own entrance and enclosed veranda attached to one end of our house. Paneled in solid pine, it is rustic in look but newly constructed with up-to-date facilities including central heating, a new wood-burning stove, a steam room shower in the private bath, a skylight, and a "breeze-way" veranda. The standard-size double bed sleeps two comfortably and there is an empty closet in the entry hall for your things. (Please note: There are red curtains on all the windows. These photos were taken when a set of curtains was down being cleaned.)
Ideal for a weekend getaway from Boston, canoeing and kayaking on the river, hiking and cycling, and local history tours, there are numerous attractions nearby. The Sudbury River, Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, and the Pantry Brook Wildlife Area are within walking distance (5 min or less). Thoreau's Walden Pond, the Old North Bridge, Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, the Decordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Hawthorne's Old Manse, the Louisa May Alcott House, Longfellow's Wayside Inn, and the historic Revolutionary War battle fields of Concord and Lexington are all within a 15-minute drive.
  • My husband and I had a wonderful retreat in Julia and Phil's cabin in the woods. Julia was a lovely hostess, giving me a thoughtful tour but allowing us privacy during the weekend. The space is perfectly planned out, filled with nooks and crannies, lovely furniture and a fresh pine wood smell. This is clearly a special home. The shower is a great additional touch. There's plenty of room for a couple, and we slept soundly listening to the birds and crickets. I didn't have enough time to explore all of the nature around the house, but maybe we will be back. I did learn a lot about local history walking down Water Row on Sunday. Our only regret was that we didn't have a mini fridge and toaster oven. Julia provides a large cooler with plenty of ice- much more comfort than most hotels offer. But if we had had those kitchen amenities we could have stayed here for weeks (escaping a home renovation). In fact, it might have been difficult to kick us out. Thanks Phil and Julia for the lovely stay. We would love to visit again.

    Katherine2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • My parents and I stayed in Phil's cabin for a night. Phil's mother Julia welcome us and was very helpful. It is located in the woods. We greatly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is great for a relaxing break from the city.

  • The Cabin in the Woods was peaceful, relaxing and a very comfortable place for a weekend getaway! The proximity to Concord and all it has to offer is a plus!! We enjoyed being able to drive to Walden's Pond, walk the historic sites of Concord and even head toward Boston for dinner! Phil and Julia have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable!

    Holly2012-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was wonderful. The room was clean, and very quite. I cannot wait until our next stay. Phil was very open with updates to our visit. Upon arrival Judith was so kind to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Visiting with her was a bonus to our visit. We highly recommended a stay.

  • Host extremely welcoming

    Claudia2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, immaculate cabin, a stone's "Thoreau" from Concord and Walden Pond. Julia and Phil have thought of everything their guests could possibly need, while respecting their privacy. This was our first Airbnb experience, and we couldn't have been more pleased.

    Carolyn2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay, love the wood, steam shower and wood burning oven!

    Sean2016-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this little cabin in the woods! My daughter had a chest cold when we arrived and she really benefitted from the steam shower. I found it very relaxing too. During our stay it rained most of the time, so the cozy wood burning fireplace was essential.

  • Very nice place in a convenient location. Our flights from Cali were canceled due to bad weather so we arrived after 1 AM. Even so, Mary was kind enough to accommodate us. We never saw each other but everything was prepared and ready when we arrived. And our departure was effortless. The property is clean and has nice landscaping. We'll definitely use them again since we have family in the area.

  • Mary and Richards place was very nice

  • Mary Fahey and her husand Richard are warm, welcoming, and interesting. They were flexible with my family's constantly changing plans. I really appreciated it. Their house is beautiful and comfortable. I loved the view of the back yard. The breakfasts were delicious. I felt so at home that I didn't want to leave.

    Margaret2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • I felt most at home with Mary's beautiful guest room and private bathroom. Her home is a creative, artistic, and a colorful respite. She made sure my short visit was easy and comfortable! I would recommend her home to other business travelers. She is so warm and friendly that I felt immediately at home.

  • This was one of he nicest Airbnb accomodations that we have ever stayed in. The apartment was very roomy, nicely decorated and well equipped. There is a lovely patio with a beautiful view of a forested area. It was extremely quiet and private. Perfect in every way!

    Leslie2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great location for travel in the Boston area. Close enough to the city but far out enough to reach other locations easily. The apartment is close enough to town to walk to restaurants and shops. Tim and Sheila were great hosts and their recommendations for dinner were amazing. The apartment was charming and comfortable. It was a great home for a week.

    Candi2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, calm, comfortable, clean, and safe. Tim is a kind and respectful host. I know where we'll be staying if we're in the area again.

  • In a word: perfect. Really enjoyed my morning tea sitting on the balcony and enjoying the New England nature.

  • This is a beautiful place -- spacious, comfortable, stylish, and quiet. It looks out on conservation land on three sides (i.e., beautiful woods). Easy access into Concord and Boston/Cambridge. Really ideal!

  • Beautiful views and easy access to Concord and Wert Concord. Also very private.

    Geri2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was such a great find for us! Just a few houses walking distance down the street from our son, whom we visit once or twice a year in West Concord. The apartment is beautifully furnished and the kitchen fully equipped. Too bad, really, that we weren't able to utilize it more, since we had all our meals with family. However, the coffee maker and some snacks provided by our host tied us over till real breakfast at our son's. The apartment is extremely quiet, since the lodging is set way back from the street, behind the main house. And in the rear is the conservation land, a forested area full of bird (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)ing (and a very busy woodpecker) and a trail that can be reached from the apartment. Tons of closet space, a very nice bathroom with window into the woods, and a super-large bedroom. Lots of dormer windows to the front and full windows facing the rear (woods) make everything quite bright. And there are lots of lamps, a great boon to folks who also like to read books that are not backlit :-)!

  • This place is wonderful It is a complete well appointed large one bedroom apartment. Very quiet and for me very convenient. The place fully furnished and comfortable. Everything is in close to new condition. I had my parents stay here, and it worked out great. It is on the second floor but otherwise all on one level.

  • Sven is really great and communicates very well by phone and through the app. The apartment is a great space with a small kitchen, large bathroom, and a comfortable bed. If you are a light sleeper, just be aware that there are some early rising children that you may hear in the morning, but otherwise it is a great space!

    Andrea2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is absolutely stunning and just as described. Sven is a great host - I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in MA!

  • This is a very clean small basement apartment with basic living needs. Closet is small since bureau is in it. Bathroom mirror is not above sink, so tough to shave and do makeup. Small active children living above.

  • Fan's place is great if you are looking for an affordable place to crash. He's super communicative and helpful. It's on the third floor, which was the only pain--lugging bags up. If you aren't skiddish about walking next to traffic without a sidewalk there are lots of places to explore to the south, otherwise, you'll probably want a car.

Located in a relaxing rural setting only 20 miles from downtown Boston and 4 miles from Concord center. Our home is a classic mid-century modern house located on 2 wooded acres surrounded by beautiful walking trails and cycling routes. Our family is international as Debbie is from Scotland, John is from New York and our two daughters were born in London and Tokyo, respectively. We have lived in all of these places plus Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Mexico City and Paris. We welcome all backgrounds.
The house is a mid century modern "Deck House". The bedroom, sitting room and large bathroom are on their own floor in the house half a flight down from the front entrance hall in the original part of the house. The living room is screened from the house stairway, which is used infrequently by the owners. The sitting room has a TV and is full of books and board games to use while you are staying here. There is a microwave and small fridge, a small kettle for your own use, along with coffee and tea. (A Trader Joe Market is 7 minutes away in Acton). There is a sliding door to the outside and chairs to sit on an catch the afternoon sun. The bedroom has a Queen size bed, a closet and a chest of drawers. The large bathroom has a 6ft bath to relax in after a long day, as well as a shower. There is a floor mattress stored in a closet with sheets/pillows that can be used for an additional guest in the sitting room.
  • John's place is architecturally interesting and situated on a lovely wooded lot. The suite was comfortable and spacious. The family was welcoming and respectful of me as a guest.

  • Convenient location but away from the congestion of the town center, this unique place provided us two nights of restful sleep, and a cozy yet spacious spot to relax for the weekend. John, our host couldn't have been more helpful in getting us settled in, providing information about local places, and making sure we were comfortable!

This private apartment in a lovely home in historic Concord, Massachusetts features one bedroom with queen bed, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Queen air bed offered free of charge for 2 persons for additional sleeping in living room. Your apartment is locked off from the rest of the home and you have your own entrance. We are within 4 miles of Concord Academy, Middlesex School, the North Bridge, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery (where Alcott, Thoreau, Emerson, and Hawthorne are buried).
The space you are staying in is attached to my home, and yet you have complete privacy; your door is deadbolted for your protection. You will get your own code to access your private front door. You can park your car either in my driveway or on the street (it's a very private road, so no worries about on-the-street-parking).
We are in a private, quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street with beautiful walking trails at the end of our street. Within 2 miles there are restaurants, grocery stores, clothing stores, and just about anything you would need! Concord is full of history; we are within 4 miles of the North Bridge, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery (where Alcott, Hawthorne, Emerson, Thoreau, and many other famous (and infamous!) historic figures are buried. It's a great place to walk around, so bring some comfortable walking shoes!

  • Ellen's place is wonderfully comfortable and beautifully furnished. The outdoor space is a bonus and the area is very pretty. We didn't meet Ellen until the night before we left but she is a friendly gracious person. Would recommend her place for visits to Boston and Concord.

  • Our stay was very comfortable. The accommodations were clean and well maintained. Ellen's personal support was a nice surprise.

    James2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about Ellen's home and her hospitality. I was traveling alone with my toddler and Ellen went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed before I even arrived. She picked up milk for us, set up a travel toddler bed I'd had shipped ahead of time. Who does that?! It was a huge help, especially since we arrived after 10pm and were exhausted. The house is spotless, with a spacious living area and lovely screened-in porch that I didn't even realize existed until I arrived. The neighborhood is lush and green, and so quiet. You travel quintessential New England back roads to get here, and it's such a beautiful drive. We spent a lot of time just playing in the large yard and, at night, looking at the stars. You can easily get to the historic sites of the area in just a few minutes, and Cambridge/Boston in less than an hour. It was the perfect location for us. Ellen herself is a gracious hostess, both online and in person! She is warm, kind, and knows so much about the surrounding area. I truly felt like I was staying in her home, but at the same time we had full privacy and quiet. I will stay here again and again. Thank you, Ellen!

She actually upgraded us to a bigger room which was lovely. Although the online description was a bit confusing, the room and inn was lovely. It was really cool and very educational for my daughter and I to stay at a place with such history. It was a really interesting layout and gave glimpses into the past along with modern conveniences.

  • My wife and I, and our two adult daughters, stayed for four nights. Because we were never able to keep to our itinerary we presented a special challenge, showing up unexpectedly at different times of the day. Stacy and Dick were still able to work around us and always made us feel at home. Dick even helped us out by reinstalling the window air conditioner that they usually remove in the fall to help us deal with unseasonable heat and humidity.

    Allen2011-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey and Dick were outstanding hosts, they helped us feel right at home. They helped us with our travel needs, and you will fall in love with their dog. The home is beautiful, the bed terrific. The proximity to Boston, Concord and many of the historic sites is a huge plus.

Stay in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by woodlands yet within minutes of Concord center, the commuter rail to Boston and Walden Pond. It's a short walk from my home to nearby conservation land and trails.
You are renting a ground-level apartment with a private entrance, two bedrooms, living room and full bath. Both bedrooms have queen beds, bureaus and large closets. The living room has a comfortable couch that can sleep one but is not a sofa bed. The bathroom has a tub and shower; all amenities are provided. There is no kitchen. The den has a "kitchenette" with a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, toaster, electric teapot and a clean-up sink around the corner - but there is no stove or hotplate for cooking. There is plenty of cupboard space for your supplies. Food provided includes regular and herb teas, a selection of coffees, sweeteners, hot chocolate, snacks and microwave popcorn. I have several coolers and plenty of ice from upstairs. Your 55-inch Ultra HD 4K TV comes with over 150 cable and music channels as well as HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax and Netflix. I also have a large DVD collection and a good selection of family board games. I buy books from the library sales which you are welcome (and encouraged) to permanently "borrow." The super high-speed Wi-Fi has a strong signal downstairs and there are two tables that can be adjusted to laptop height as well as a card table with 4 chairs. The thermostat for the central air conditioning/heat is in your space so you may adjust it to suit your personal preferences. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer and iron.
My house is just just outside the town center in the more rural farming part of Concord and located on a quiet cul de sac that abuts conservation land. There are miles of trails suitable for hiking, jogging or dirt biking within walking distance. The only noise you will likely hear at night are the owls or, in March, April and May a chorus of spring peepers. I have about 35 species of backyard feeder birds that will welcome you in the morning. Within a few minutes drive there is a pizzeria (that also delivers), a neighborhood bar and restaurant, liquor store, Dunkin' Donuts, convenience store and gas station along with the Verrill Farm Stand - a noted attraction throughout the greater Boston area for its home-grown produce, home-made pastries and ready-to-eat take-out meals.
  • Priscilla was wonderful and very welcoming. Everything was as listed but better! Beautiful house and area surrounded by forest. We would definitely book again!

    Zara2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem. Priscilla's place is quiet, spacious, peaceful, and convenient. I stayed for business and I had everything I needed. Terrific high speed internet, lots of space, great cable TV options, a delightful rustic neighborhood in which to go for a run or a stroll, and many more amazing qualities. Parking was extremely convenient, pretty much right outside the door. Priscilla has her place filled with wonderful ways to pass time, including tons of books, DVDs, and photos. She is an amazing host, so kind and considerate. I pretty much kept to myself the first few days of my stay and felt like I was the only person for miles. On my last night, I knocked on the door to see if she would be up for a chat. We had a delightful talk. I really enjoyed staying at her place and will certainly attempt to do so in future trips to the area.

    Dennis2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay we had! The house was extremely comfortable and equipped, way beyond our expectations. Priscilla was so nice and accommodating - this was our first Airbnb experience, and it was just perfect. We're hoping to be back someday.

    Rotem2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a really quiet neighborhood of Concord, and beautifully landscape. Priscilla had done lots to make it very comfortable: snacks, water, comfortable bed, fast wifi and loads of TV channels. She does, as she says, have cats, that did make an occassional appearance. If you don't mind that, I'd highly recommend!

    Linda2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Priscilla was so hospitable and her home is decorated with exquisite taste. We especially loved the view of outside greenery and the wildlife art which decorated the inside. The bed was very comfortable with fine sheets; a light down comforter for cool nights aided my sleep. The breakfast bars were delicious and healthy, accompanied by gourmet coffee choices, and snacks, too, well stocked for later. This is really an apartment not a room only, and Priscilla is so friendly, inviting us upstairs for chats, including us for her fresh brewed coffee any morning we weren't too busy rushing off early. Her new kitten --a Maine coon, an original American breed in beautiful soft grey markings-- was shy but sweet and will make an adorable diversion for patient guests if they choose. I definitely recommend Priscilla's for anyone visiting Concord and environs.

    Bonnie2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Priscilla's home was a perfect place for our stay in Concord. The two bedrooms were spacious and well-appointed. Priscilla was extraordinarily warm, welcoming, gracious, and interested in us and our wishes. She attended to every detail. Historical information about Concord and its famous historical residents was at our fingertips, and she was knowledgeable about this history. Her home was accurately described as quiet and charming: also very beautiful. Snacks were provided in abundance. Fine experience for us.

    Charles2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable apartment and a very quiet location. Will definitely recommend.

  • Priscilla is such a nice lady who lives in the house alone. My family four of us lived in her house during Chinese Festival so that we use the kitchen to do a lot of Chinese traditional food. We have a separate entrance and a whole independent floor. There are two rooms and one bathroom and a living room. Mrs. Priscilla prepared variety snacks for us, we have the coffee machine/plates/forks and spoon/clean towel/washer and drier as well. If we need anything, Priscilla is always really kind to help. She has a parking Space in the front of the house. We had a really good experience in her house. I will rebook and recommend this to you and my friends if they need. Thank you.

  • Clean and comfortable room in a cute area! We enjoyed staying with Lorelei and her family, and would recommend it!

    Nick2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute reservation - Lorilei was very accommodating and super easy to work with.

    Catherine2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We found Lorelei's place last minute. We had to find a place that would take a puppy. That said this review is from a puppy owners perspective. The room was not ideal, but it did work. We had a small room on the second floor as was described. There were a lot of knickknacks and books that pulled my puppy's interest. The best thing we did was to stay out of the house until he was exhausted and then put him right into the crate that we brought with us at bedtime. One huge bonus was that Lorelei let our pup run around a completely closed in backyard. In general, Lorelei and her family kept to themselves. They had their own schedule. We had freedom to come and go as we pleased. We were mindful that there was a toddler living at home so we did what we could to keep our pup quiet.

    Katrina2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Great location not too far off 495. Lorelei was lovely and welcoming. Will definitely return when we are in the area.

    Joe2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lorilei's guest suite was the perfect fit for my little family in our recent visit to the Boston area. She was so welcoming and accommodating, from my request for an early check in, to our toddlers playing together at check out, and offering fresh baked cookies during our stay! The location was perfectly close to the friends we were visiting and, with a relatively easy drive into the city, we couldn't have asked for much more. You are sure to enjoy your visit to the Boston area with a stay at Lorilei's home.

    Amanda2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice couple! Approachable, funny and welcoming. Felt at home in their place. Would definitely stay again!

    Alexis2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lori and Eli have a wonderful place for a budget single traveler like myself. The room was comfortable and private because it is on the second floor (they live on the first floor). The private bathroom was new and spotless and located next to the room. I stayed here while attending a wedding in Harvard which was a short drive away. I loved driving the scenic country roads in the area. I took a hike and went to the Fruitlands Museum. The ride from Boston/Braintree is under an hour. Thanks again to my great hosts.

  • Great place. I had business in nearby Waltham, and very glad I opted for this instead of one of the mega-hotels there. Concord is a cute town with a nice "Main Street" area, and this rental puts you right in the middle of it. Felt very welcome and comfortable there. Small knock to a tiny bathroom/shower situation, but otherwise a terrific stay. Highly recommended.

  • The hosts were on the lookout for me, and helped me up the stairs with my (too big!) suitcase. They were very responsive to questions, and also just let me be while I was there. The loft is absolutely charming, and being in the center of Concord Village is really special.

    Beth2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location (close to the Inn, museum, restaurants) and a comfortable studio loft. Karen provided clear instructions for entry. The municipal lot is very convenient to the loft. The air conditioner worked very well. The bed design is ingenious. Thank you!

    Lucy2015-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location. The cozy, comfortable loft humanized some extended business travel and would make the perfect home base for Concord explorations.

  • The apartment was very clean and everything as described. Good jazz music on the evenings till ~10 pm. from main cafe was amazing before sleep. At the hotests days it was too warm inside, even if air conditioneer was on. But on claudy days even if outside was +30, inside was normal.

    Evaldas2014-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Concord is a nice place within easy reach by car to Boston. There is no breakfast provided and no means to make coffee or tea. It must be very hot in summer as it was already very warm in spring. There is an airconditioner. The live music in the reataurant below was very loud until 12 pm.

    Nina2014-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very clean and comfortable. Right downtown and easy walking distance to just about everything we had on our plans. Music Friday night was awesome!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Concord. The apt is right in the center, very convenient and close to all the nice local shops and cafès. We dined in both the Colonial inn and the restaurant downstairs and would definetly reccomend both. The restaurant downstairs is very lai back and fun with live music every evening, also my child danced there!! Karen and David were very nice and provided us with a gate for the stairs ( absolutely necessary if you are going to be there with a child!) and also with some toys and books for my doughter. Would go back for sure if travelling in the area! Stefania, Rome Italy

  • Ellen's home is extremely cozy and surrounded by nature. She's a very selfless and hospitable Staying with her in the Concord/Acton area gave my friend and I the chance to experience a part of Massachusetts that we weren't expecting at all. The roads, houses, and all the scenery is breathtaking for two people who come from Miami, Florida. Ellen always made sure to check up on us at least once a day and my friend and I were very glad we had the chance to take her to dinner to spend some time with her before we left to Arlington. I strongly recommend anyone book with Ellen and explore the small town of Concord. The week my friend I spent there was blissful thanks to Ellen.

    Joel2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's place is clean and comfortable. The bed and linens were of superior quality and comfort, and the decor was lovely! I highly recommend her place!

    Kristen2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen was so lovely in making our group of four feel right at home. We had everything we needed and the space was a cozy, quiet retreat to come back to at the end of three very busy days while we were in Concord for a wedding. The space is small but clean and comfy, perfect for what we needed and a quick car ride from downtown Concord. Thanks Ellen!

    Elizabeth2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen is currently rated as a superhost, and it's accurate! She gives just the right amount of attention and information without being overwhelming or intrusive. She's friendly and available, but still trusts her guests to communicate what they need/don't need. We had no trouble parking our 2 cars in her driveway while we were there. Everything was clean and welcoming. Bed was very comfortable. No complaints here.

    Amber2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's place is in a beautiful neighborhood. Very peaceful. Our family enjoyed staying at her house.

    Yi2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for making the stay very comfortable. We all loved the suite, especially your outside garden. The suite was isolated from the outside and that made it more special. The beds were very cozy with all the necessities we needed. We gladly spent an entire morning at the suite not wanting to visit any other place. Since it is remote, you will definitely need a personal vehicle to commute to and from the suite. But you will hardly need anything else as Ellen provides everything. I look forward to staying at Ellen's at my next trip.

    Sandeep2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place! Ellen went above and beyond to make our stay a very pleasant one. We loved the peaceful setting and the convenience to all that Concord has to offer. Communication, friendliness, privacy, cleanliness, etc. all get an A+. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

    Julianne2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen offers a cozy suite looking out into beautiful woods. The house is an easy hop to Acton or Concord (or Route 2 or 495, depending on commute needs). Given the importance of "woods" in Concord's history, it's lovely to be able to stay in an area that is undeveloped and dense with trees, birds, crickets, and a nature preserve at the end of the street! All the contemporary amenities "inside," with a touch of Concord "wild" -- and quiet -- without. I'm sure it's beautiful at Ellen's place in any season.

The lake shore is two thirds conservation land; that plus boat engine power limit makes it a pleasant and beautiful place for year-round activities. Great biking from our doorstep past farmlands and horse pastures, hiking trails in the neighborhood include views of beaver lodges. For food lovers: Woods Hill Table, Le Lyonnais, Bamboo, 80 Thoreau, the historic Colonial Inn. For family outings: Crossroads Cafe, Kimball Farms (includes ice cream, mini-golf, pitch n' putt, bumper boats) For music lovers: Acton Jazz Cafe (live jazz and blues) and Concord Colonial Inn, Indian Hill (live classical performances) Littleton is on the commuter rail that takes you to downtown Boston (North Station) through Concord and Cambridge. In addition, there are two pull-out futon couches in the living room with bedding for them in the bathroom closets upstairs.
  • After a hectic week in New York the Boat House exceeded all of our expectations for a peaceful retreat. It is an amazing home full of light and charm, reflecting the artistic character of Molly and her family, the lake is literally on the doorstep! Every home comfort was available allowing us to have chilled days on the porch and walking the local area, all that was missing was our dog who would have loved the woods. We had so many plans of where to go but in reality the magic of the lake kept us at home more than expected. The lakeside setting is stunning and the moon boat the most romantic experience, day or night to float around the lake. We travelled as 2 couples and felt that we had ample space and privacy to chill out together or separately in the large house… Littleton and the local area is beautiful and you are surrounded by historical sites, we loved Sunday morning Concorde and the walk to the bridge. Boston is an easy 40 minute trip on straight forward roads. Molly left a very informative pack, full of advice and communication was excellent. We hope to back someday and would recommend the Boat House 100%, for couples or families, there is so much space and kids would love the place …. That said it’s one of those Gems you don’t want to share with others in case you can’t get booked yourself when you want to !!!

    Keith2013-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Molly's. The place si very spacious and there's something to do for everyone. We went at the beach every single day as it was very hot while we were there. The place si very cozy and our host, while away on a trip, kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Molly for this wonderful time we will not hesitate to recommand.

    Pierre2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to meet Molly in person, but her touches were all over the house. The house is beautiful, large, comfortable, with lots to do and ample space for people to be involved, or have privacy if they wish. I haven't had the chance to play piano in ages, and the one in the living room is a beautiful one (my friend even commented how nice it was to wake up to music!) Taking out the kayaks was a great way to wake up (especially since the autumn leaves are phenomenal around the lake!), and the moon viewing boat was extremely easy to use for a pre-sunset cruise. Hiking trails are easily accessible nearby. I did have quite a few last minute changes with my reservation (booking for a group of people can be so tricky sometimes), but Molly was very available and extremely understanding - more than a pleasure to work with! It was a great, relaxing stay, and I'm so happy we had such an accommodating host!

    Virginia2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • I will have to say the pictures do not do justice to this house. I could have lived in this house! Everybody who came to visit loved it. We had a fantastic Christmas, and I would definitely come back! The house is very roomy, very private, and the decoration and way things are put together makes you feel good about being there. The most used description was "eclectic". I can highly recommend this house - it is a gem!

    George2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Molly was absolutely fantastic! She was very flexible and communicative throughout the weekend, and my group was very satisfied. The house and location were also fabulous. The house is very large and Molly's description does not even do it justice. In winter, the lake is beautiful. I am definitely looking forward to visiting again when the weather is warmer. We were just a short drive away from Nashoba Ski Resort, where we went night tubing. I would recommend this property and Molly to anyone. Thanks for the great weekend Molly! :)

    Michael2015-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house is set on a beautiful lake. There was very good food nearby, a great natural food store in Concord called Debbie's natural foods. Molly had set up towels with hotel sized toiletries in each room. The directions of how to maintain the house were easy accept the recycling directions did confuse us until the morning we left. We then finally figured out where all of the recyclables were expected to be sorted. Thank you so much for opening up your private space for us and we did take 2 cd's so thank you much molly! Jenn

  • Molly was a wonderful host - from first enquiries to leaving the house, she was very quick to respond to any questions, friendly, and very helpful - providing useful information and recommendations. The house is a wonderful place to relax and chill out- very comfortable, welcoming, and has everything you could need. The area is lovely, with beautiful woods to explore, and the lake of course. I went to play the piano mainly and it was a great piano with wonderful views, and lots of inspiration around! Thank you again, Molly. Hope you have many more happy guests here!

  • We so enjoyed our time at the Lake House - wish we had booked for longer. This is a very special place - highly contemplative and inspiring. All that one needs is there and it's an easy drive into Boston, or Concord locally. So much to do - we had much fun with boats on the lake while there. Perfect for our family - hosts very communicative - highly recommended in every way.

  • Our group of former high school friends had a reunion in New England and used Karen's house as our home base. We fell in love with the house - the views from different vantage points were spectacular, ample and huge bedrooms for everyone, comfortable beds to sleep in, huge kitchen where everyone invariably congregated. Cooking and eating meals here gave us more time with each other with the added bonus of working together to prepare the meal and wash up afterwards. The camaraderie that being in this house fostered can not be measured. The awesome views served as backdrops to pictures we took that will remind us later of the wonderful reunion we had at this place.

  • Karen is the best landlord you will ever have. From the very beginning, she is responsive, reasonable, helpful, and reliable! We spent one month in her Concord house and estate, a wonderful place to spend the summer with family and friends! Things went well during our stay with the only glitch, a short-term breakout of WIFI in the house. Karen offered immediate solution and was very responsive in follow ups as well. We will definitely come back and recommend the house to our friends!

  • We held our catered rehearsal dinner at the estate it was a perfect setting for our gathering. We had an indian-american wedding and this was a wonderful place to incorporate the things we wanted to do. The kitchen is spacious and has a very large island - this was perfect for the caterers as well as for the guests. We had a 1 hour tabla & sitar concert in the living room and also had a woman in the living room to do mehndi(henna) for hour guests. Because it was a rainy evening, we were mostly inside. However people still loved the views of the river. Once the rain stopped, people did go out on to the patio a bit. The home has lots of artwork and sculpture was just a very interesting place to be in addition to having our dinner there. The kitchen is modern and dining room/living room has more of an antique feel. Karen is a wonderful airbnb host and I would definitely recommend working with her if you think this might be the right place for you. She is prompt with her responses, kind and very very helpful!

  • We are a Model & talent agent and needed a great location for a photo shoot with room for staff as well, Every room is so well done, and the views are breath taking, The hand painted stone art is enchanting I could go on for hours, It was great, and Karen is a wonderful hostess , everything you need to feel at home, We had a great time and exploring the home was half the fun.you could feel the happiness there. Thank you Gina Leblanc

    Gina2012-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • It is a lovely setting and spacious home, with a particularly fantastic kitchen. It is clearly an artist's home, with many fragile objects. A great place for an adult gathering though a bit challenging with young kids. Overall it was a great spot for our reunion

    Dana2011-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's home is spectacular. I was truly sorry to leave and can't wait to have an excuse to return. It is obviously the home of artists and world travelers with a keen eye to detail, charm and beauty. Furnishings are extremely comfortable while simultaneously one feels they are living in a museum. My only regret was not having time enough to invite friends and family to enjoy the experience. Karen is lovely and an excellent communicator. Anyone with an opportunity to be a guest in this house should consider themselves quite fortunate.

    Michele2014-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the country estate! The beautiful house and grounds were breathtaking. In all, 8 of us stayed with plenty of room and privacy for a multi-generational family gathering. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very flexible on arriving and leaving times. We would love to return some day.

  • We were a family of 13, including 6 kids. We fell in the love as soon as we pulled up the driveway. The house was beautiful and very kid friendly. The basement was heaven for the kiddos. Mira was so caring, she always made sure we were okay, checking to make sure we arrived safely and giving us awesome recommendations. We would definitely be back soon!!

  • This is a beautiful, large house and the host family is very nice and accommodating. The house comfortably fits a large group (I had 7 other people with me) and is child-friendly. The bedrooms are large, there are multiple bathrooms, the basement is finished and a good space for kids, you have access to laundry on-site, and there are multiple living spaces on the ground floor. There is also access to convenient public transportation into Boston so that you don't have to deal with parking. Overall, a very nice place to stay if you're wanting to explore the greater Boston area.

You will feel cozy and at home in this eclectic house that is also a Yoga studio offering classes, privates, bodywork and healing sessions.
There is a bedroom with a queen bed and right next door a bedroom with a single bed. The bathroom is used only for these bedrooms and has a bathtub and shower. Downstairs there are cozy places to sit and read, a lovely quiet deck overlooking a triple spiral walking labyrinth, apple TV in the shared family room, and use of the kitchen to heat food and make tea.
West Concord is a fun, small village with a wonderful 5&10, a health food store called Debra's Natural Gourmet, a local fish market that offers chowder and grilled fish sandwiches....and plenty more good eats. There are also some consignment shops for clothing and furniture, a fencing studio and many other unique things to explore. Walden Pond State Reservation is only 10 minutes away.
  • Andrea's place is absolutely beautiful with art from all over the world. Her backyard leads to a forest and a historic trail. She's a short drive from West Concord which has delicious foods and friendly people. We look forward to going back and would visit here again just to stay at her place. Highly recommended.

    Tess2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Andrea's colorful and welcoming home was the highlight of my trip. Her home is far more beautiful, peaceful and interesting than the listing shows. From every piece of artwork to the gorgeous rugs to baskets, musical instruments and stunning crystals, it was an absolutely serene space you could melt into. There are numerous places to sit and walk and you look into dense woods from almost every direction. I was lucky to be able to take Andrea's yoga class one night and loved her style. Andrea is a beautiful person, with such compassion, generosity and helpfulness that you never want to leave. My business trip had a lot of stress, yet once I was in Andrea's home, it all felt like it disappeared. I just cannot say enough about treating yourself to staying here. The town is just a few minutes' drive and has outstanding food and adorable shops... Concord is only another 5 minutes away. Andrea's gorgeous neighborhood is ideal for scenic walks or bike rides and such a superior option to staying in an anonymous hotel. I will always stay here on future trips.

  • Andrea's house is absolutely gorgeous, and Andrea is a lovely hostess. If you're looking for somewhere quiet, clean, and peaceful, Andrea's house is a great choice. If you can manage to set up a yoga session or go to one of her classes, I strongly recommend that too. I would definitely stay here again if I were back in the region.

Unit B is an upstairs in law apt.and part of a restored colonial farm house. This is our home when we're not at our retirement NC property where we enjoy golfing, biking and playing bridge. Welcomed features include: private entrance with key less lock; washer/dryer; well equipped galley kitchen and table for meals in living room; 40" TV (local stations-HD); 2 desks; 3 bureaus; 2 small closets and plenty of coat/clothes hooks; private large deck with grill plus shaded table/chairs.
    wonderful and valued long term tenants in units A & C;
I particularly like not having to drive to go for a nice walk. And everyone likes the easy access to 495.
  • We had a great stay with Karen in Littleton. The deck was fantastic and being able to grill was a plus. We were well looked after and I would highly recommend Karen's place!

    Paul2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • awesome location, great deck to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon wine. Wonderful responsive host. Great value

    Emile2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent option for a longer stay in the Boston area. I came in from overseas to start a new job at an MIT lab in the outskirts of Boston. I used this apartment to scout the region for long–term options. This place is IDEAL for that purpose. For example, this apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. I booked a first month, and then I decided to stay for another month. So I was very happy. One ESSENTIAL asset is the commuter rail station in walking distance. Walking distance is important, since you will not find parking there after 8am. However, if you stay in this apartment, you will easily be able to also catch a later train. It takes about an hour to reach downtown Boston or the Cambridge area. I can only recommend this place. You will need a car for shopping, since this place is pretty remote (which I liked). But you are still well connected to Boston, if you have to go there. For example, I am working at MIT, and I would highly recommend this apartment to researchers who want to work in the Cambridge area for a few months but wish to avoid the city. That said, it gets a bit small if you are staying with two people. I would not recommend to do that for more than a few weeks.

    Jens2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place was perfect for our stay and she was very accommodating, even bringing a grill upstairs because she knew I enjoy grilling. There was plenty of privacy, space, storage and everything we could possibly need. The bed was extremely comfortable. The neighborhood was very nice and surprisingly active with bikers, walkers and runners which you can view from a short distance on the roof top deck, which was so beautiful and relaxing in the morning for coffee. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!

Wake up pond side in a paradise on White Pond in historic Concord. Known as Walden's "sister pond" and just 12 miles to Cambridge! Enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters of this kettle pond. You will find the birds and the trees washing you with a sense of peace. 3 decks to enjoy different views, an outside kitchen; private dock, a canoe and paddle board are available to enjoy. A wonderful way to relax as you enjoy the many sights as you visit the area.
Also available is your opportunity to experience "glamping" in our 12 by 20 furnished tent on the premises. Please note that one "bedroom" is next to the house; a great way to include two additional people
Very private, though shared parking with neighbor on a gravel road.
  • Claudine's place was a slice of heaven. The pond is just beautiful, and so is the cottage. Claudine's hospitality was second to none.

    Lesya2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time at this beautiful and tranquil little home on the pond. The lake water was the clearest I have ever seen and the air was fresh and cool. The beds were super comfortable and so were the sheets. Inside the house the vibe was soooo cool!! Their kitchen was awesome and stocked with so many spices for those of you who enjoy cooking. I highly recommend anyone to come out here for a getaway. P.S I brought my English bulldog hammy and he was so sad to leave .

    Phil2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Claudine's home is a truly unique place. The setting and view of the pond is calming, serene and spectacularly beautiful. Eating a meal at the table on the floating dock is a true gift. The home itself is cozy and full of everything one could need for a quiet getaway (record player with vintage jazz albums, old-fashioned Seltzer compressor, canoes, fishing rods!). Sleeping in the outdoor bedroom is magical and an experience not to be missed. The friendliness toward dogs was much appreciated and my little pooch loved hanging out on the deck and dock. We had a stay that I will remember for a long time to come. Claudine was exceptionally kind and hospitable and communication with her was excellent. It's clear the home means a lot to Claudine and we were lucky to benefit from her sharing that love of the home with us. Highly recommend this very special place.

  • Awesome full house for family or single person.

    Richard2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was decent. The biggest issue was the odor of the catbox and general odor of the living area. Both rooms had blow up matresses and no real bed. The fridge was pretty offputting. On the good side, the people were very easy to communicate with. Access to the house was simple but i was not aware that i was actually occupying these people's home. There were kids toys and family photos. Overall, ots fine if you need a place for one night.

    Michael2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was exactly what I needed for the night. A place to lay my head and clean up from a day's work. Hosts were very nice and accommodating. I'd recommend if this is what you need!

  • I spent the first night of my stay in the area at a really nice hotel/b&b which had everything but cost $170/night; the following 2 nights at Marla's cost $120. So that's the value of airbnb: you get a little less on the accommodation front but save a lot.

    Brian2017-10-01T00:00:00Z

  • Ben and Lucinda were wonderful hosts. We were mostly out during our stay there but really enjoyed the chances we had to talk and get to know them. They were super helpful and very kind. We definitely recommend staying with them if you need an AirBnB in the area.

  • What a graeat couple!! I absolutely enjoyed my stay. It was a home away from home. Gave me a lot of suggestions on locations to visit and restaurants to go to. I highly recommend this place!!

    Venkateshwara2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Ben, Lucinda, and Loofa was a sheer pleasure. As excellent and experienced AirBnB hosts, Ben and Lucinda let me set the tone of how much interaction was a good level for me, and we went from there. From helping me in with my bags, to making sure I had everything I needed, to letting me do a load of laundry, and even driving me to the next town over to show me a historic Thoreau-related site Ben knew I likely wouldn't find on my own, I felt like I was staying with family for three days instead of people I had just met. It is a lovely neighbourhood and I felt perfectly safe and at home the duration of my stay. The only caution I would share with fellow travellers is something out of Ben and Lucinda's control. There is a bit of a lip on the parking area where it meets the street, and if you arrive in the dark (as I did), it might catch you by surprise. All in all, my stay with Ben and Lucinda (and Loofa) was delightful. I can't say enough good things about them, and hope to stay with them again in the future.

  • This is a quite and comfortable home. Their dog is very pleasant and friendly. Ben and his wife went to extremes to make sure we were comfortable . • We were not a good match. The rooms were a teenagers' bedroom with lots of posters and accessories. The room was also very hot. In hindsight, the lack of a room photo should have been a tipoff. We decided this was not going to work for us and we ended up at the Concord Best Western.

  • We had a great time in Concord and our accommodations and gracious host were definitely part of it! We had our own private room on the third floor with a bathroom and A/C unit. Judith and Micheal were so nice and made us feel welcome right away, putting aside the uneasiness of a first time Airbnb experience. Judith let us use her fridge to store our food and opened up her kitchen to us so we could make breakfast. They also gave us wonderful suggestions on what sights to see and clued us in on the fun that is Cambridge and Harvard Square! Next time we come to Concord we will definitely check to see if we could stay here again! Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The front rooms are very sunny south-facing. Modern kitchen with granite counter tops, gas stove and good kitchen knives. Fully-equipped. The small dining table is located in the kitchen and seats four very comfortably. There is one small bedroom with a double-bed and a large guest room/lounge with a futon couch/bed. Both the living room and the guest room have large TV monitors for watching Netlix or movies, etc.
This is a very safe and down-to-earth neighborhood. It is a mix of long-time residents and young families.
  • The location of Laura's house was really close to where I was visiting and the neighborhood is really nice with lots of restaurants nearby. The house is well kept and gives you the zen feeling. I love the decor of the place. Even though, we did not meet Laura, she had a friend to pass the key to us. We had a wonderful stay!! Thank you.

  • Laura was easy to communicate with. This was her first airbnb experience and she did well! We had a nice weekend at her place, it's only 10 min away from the commuter rail and 30min from the first T station. Also 15min away from Walden pond. There is a nice cafe in downtown Maynard that serves delicious fresh and healthy smoothies! The place was clean (living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom,...) Pedro the cat was very easy to live with. Didn't find cat hair all over! There is no cable which is ok with us (we don't have cable either) but there is Netflix so you can watch movies. Value-to-cost ratio is very good. I would recommend staying at Laura's.

  • Amazing!!! The place was beyond my expectations. Everything was clean and cozy. The location was perfect. The communication with Laura was easy and on point. I definitely recommend this place to anyone ever visiting the Boston area. Was worth every penny!

It's a big 1880's Victorian house divided into suites, right on a main road near the Commuter Rail to Boston and several shops. It's pet-friendly. A short drive to two ice rinks and Route 2. Very nice…
