  • Marc was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He also offered many suggestions for things to do around Bar Harbor. The location was very convenient to downtown.

  • Marc is a great host, and he made us feel at home right away :) He has an incredible collection of books in his cozy house in Bar Harbor, and the kitchen was filled with delicious muffins and cookies. The location is close to the city center of Bar Harbor, so it's to get around from the house.

  • This was perfect for my needs. I came to Bar Harbor for an art fair and the house was quiet and restful. It's very close to the center of town so my commute was minimal. The host provides more books than I have seen in some libraries and a wonderful collection of movies. I highly recommend staying here and if I do this show next year I'll be back.

    Heidi2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the Eves room for a few nights in winter, it was very cozy and Marc was a wonderful host

    Emily2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you're staying in bar harbor this is the place to stay! It's an amazing house with so much character! Also marc is one of the nicest people you can meet! He even makes you homemade baked goods! Also if you haven't been to Acadia I would definitely recommend staying here because he gives you maps and knows the park like the back of his hand and can give you directions anywhere!

    Joe2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Marc was very accommodating! The house seems very old with a lot of character.

    Whitney2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy. Eclectic. Warm. Welcoming. Convenient. Host provided many extra touches, including fresh baked muffins and cinnamon buns, hiking maps, use of kitchen to make sandwiches and living room to watch one of the many, many DVDs. Very convenient location, within easy walking distance of Main Street. Our bathroom was downstairs, which was described in listing and finer for us, though others might not appreciate this. Also, the house is a veritable museum/ library/ art gallery chock full of interesting prints, books, curiousities. We enjoyed our stay and were very comfy....but if you prefer a minimalist experience, this house is not for you. We will definitely choose this air bnb for our next bar harbor visit, thank you Marc.

    Deborah2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Marc is friendly and a very helpful and generous host, offering all of what other guests describe and more. The location is excellent for walking to the hub of Bar Harbor easily, with at least two good restaurants literally around the corner. Breakwater Suite is great. Beds and walls in Eves Room need repair, and stairs are steep. New, lower price is more in keeping with the room's condition.

  • This was a fantastic location for exploring MDI, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was spacious, comfy and very well equipped. Top marks for cleanliness and many thoughtful touches from our host (local beer in the fridge, guidebooks and park information, local restaurant recommendations). We were lucky to hit Arcadia at the absolute peak of fall leaf season. The colors were amazing!

  • Northridge is a perfect spot for exploring Acadia National Park and the rest of Mount Desert Island. The house is beautiful, very comfortable and well stocked with everything you would need for a relaxing getaway.

  • Very nice house to stay. spent very great time there.

  • Brianne's place is just as pictured, clean, welcoming and close to park and the town. We biked to the carriage road straight from the house. Check in was easy and the townhouse had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay there again.

    Ula2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and value. We could get into downtown Bar Harbor quickly. Drive down to the end of the block and you turn onto a road that provides you access to the rest of the island. We were even able to walk out the door and walk to a path that we followed to the path we took up Cadillac Mt! Highly recommend this house. Communication with Brienne was direct and easy with quick responses.

    Paige2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Best place ever! Our stay at Brianne's townhouse was the highlight of our 3 week trip to Maine. Naturally Bar Harbor and Acadia didn't hurt, but the place served as the perfect home base for our exploration. It is close enough to town to walk if you're in the mood. We also took a hike all the way to Bubble Pond by connecting trails that started right around the corner from the place. Everything was clean. Lots of great Maine/Acadia decorations. Comfy furniture. Great water pressure. What more could you ask for? Brianne was also extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire experience. This is what a host should be! And nothing like being greeted by a few cold bottles of beer w/ chilled glasses in the fridge. This will certainly be the only place we stay when visiting Acadia!

Quaint Maine bungalow-style cottage right on the edge of Bar Harbor Village, adjacent to Kebo Valley Golf Club. Recently reno'd, 3 generous bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, outdoor deck with gas grill, and 2-minute drive to Acadia's Cadillac Mountain entrance!
BB's Getaway has the unique advantage of a full sized home in a lovely and quiet area, while still being in close proximity to downtown Bar Harbor, Kebo Valley Golf Club, and prime areas of Acadia National Park. After an exciting day exploring the island or enjoying the town, relax on the rear deck or stroll down the tree and wildflower-lined roads.
Absolutely the most beautiful and magical island! Take an all-day hike and swim in Sargent Mountain lake, then hit the raw bar on the dock in town. Go on a long run down the stunning Thunder Hole shore or along the sublime Shore Path. Rent a kayak on Long Pond and go ashore for a secluded picnic. Bike the endless carriage roads and stop for lunch at the Jordan Pond House. Visit the meticulous Asticou Gardens, or even the Seal Cove Auto Museum, and eat in Northeast or Southwest Harbor. We can go on and on!
  • This place is a perfect location - about a mile from 'downtown' Bar Harbor, which I walked several times. The cottage was well kept, well stocked and Michael had great recommendations on things to do (food, activities, etc.). We loved staying here and I would recommend it to others who want to stay in Bar Harbor but still have a great place to come back to for relaxing, cooking and overall contentment!

    Melissa2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. The house is charming and feels like a place I could call home. The kitchen is well-stocked in terms of dishes and cookware. We even made use of the grill on the deck. The showers are good and there are plenty of fluffy bath towels. The location is nice - quiet, but only a short drive into town. Wifi is excellent. Michael is a responsive and informative host. We appreciated his tips on hikes and eating options in the area. I highly recommend staying here, it is truly a Bar Harbor gem!

    Sharon2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is immaculate, well appointed throughout from the kitchen to the bathrooms - warm and comfortable. The location is great, quiet but a quick trip to town or Acadia National Park. Mike provided immediate feedback with questions I posed, excellent dining recommendations for some food exceptions. All in all a great experience.

    Mark2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The home is well appointed and was equipped with everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Mike was a great host and was quick to answer any queries we had. He also provided a extremely useful and thorough welcome pack detailing food, hikes and sights to take in. The house is in a great location. A short walk up the road and you are on the North Trail up Cadillac Mountain. A 25 min walk into Bar Harbour gives you access to all the drinking and eating you could want. I'd recommend McKays Public House for great food and service. A great place to stay to explore Acadia.

    Dan2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Michael were fantastic hosts. The house was perfect for our family and was in the perfect location. Michael provided many great recommendations and was very responsive. We hope to stay here again!

  • This is a fantastic place to stay if younger visiting Acadia NP or Bar Harbor. The house is close to everything you need, was very comfortable and the hosts were fantastic to work with. I highly recommend it.

    Eric2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our vacation in Bar Harbor was no less than perfect thanks in large part to Laura & Michael's sweet and happy home! Attention to detail and comfort is found throughout this bright and cheerful house. Our family of four slept soundly in comfortable beds with quality linens. The kitchen was well equipped and super clean like all the rooms and baths. We were very grateful the Farkas' allowed our two small dogs to also share our vacation. We also found several pet-friendly restaurants since outdoor seating is plentiful in the conveniently located downtown. We all got some serious workouts, dogs included, on beautifully maintained trails in Acadia. We highly recommend this beautiful home when visiting this great National Park!

    Marc & Marjorie2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Place was perfect for our group of 5. Grandparents, parents, and 14-month old. Bedrooms are nice and it was great to have the little one in her own room. They even had a great baby gate that could also work well for pets. Kitchen was big and open to dining and living room. Close enough to town to make for any easy drive or medium walk, but far away enough for quiet. Also a not so bad bike to the carriage road. They had everything we needed in the kitchen, and it was a good space for entertaining to although we didn't get to use the deck. Definitely would go back.

Located 1.3 miles from Cottage str. downtown 9 1/2 Cleftstone Cottage is close to restaurants, dining, the beach, nightlife, and public transport. You’ll love this modest little place because of the very private location. Acadia National Park land is across the road and we are halfway between Duck Brook and Cadillac Entrance. We have 2 king, 1 full, 1 queen, plus 4 twin beds and 2 couches, we will on occasion make exceptions for well behaved pets for a small fee. A long (steep) driveway.
The number 1 reason to use our modest little cottage for your treasured vacation time, besides the privacy 1 mile from Main Street, is your entire family can stay in one home. Parking can sometimes be an issue in deep summer downtown but with a short bus ride you can get most anywhere on the island you want to be. You spend very little time on the phone co-ordinating with family if they are in the house, You spend very little time getting downtown when it's 1 mile away. Across from our driveway is owned by the park and there is an old discontinued road that takes you to some of the remaining foundations of mansions that burned during the Great Fires of Bar Harbor. From the remains you can see fountains and fireplaces and feel the great loss of that generation. The cottage is in the woods and very very private and if you are a bike owner you are less than a mile from motor free roads that take you into the park and onto the carriage roads. Witch Hole is our favorite bike ride it is a 3-4 mile loop which connects you to the trail system and has ponds, meadows, ocean outlooks a very environmentally rich little ride. Or maybe the bubble pond to Jordan Pond House for a Pop Over is our favorite ..because after a nice meal we can put our bikes on the bus and ride back home. But then there is that need to challenge ones self and ride to the top of Cadillac Mountain for sun rise.. stunning.
Everyone who comes to Bar Harbor .. really must come for the ocean or the hiking or mountain biking. no motorized bikes, electric bikes , dirt bikes are allowed on the carriage paths. Our house is on a large parcel of woods... bordered by a swale or a rocky outcropping that is in assessable so ... our neighborhood is basically tranquility. The neighbors dog might possibly sneak down the driveway..but he is curious and they miss him quickly.. The coyotes are not domesticated nor are the deer.. although they are not frightened easily either. But they are the neighborhood.. and the occasionally raccoon, turkey, fox and lots of birds and rustling leaves.
  • Carolyn was a great host - readily accessible and made all the effort to make our stay easy and comfortable. The location is a huge plus - one can easily get to Acadia or the town grocery store, restaurants in just few minutes. Without the need to drive long distances, we could get more out of our stay.

    Amol2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious with tons of beds and rooms. Perfect location. Good communication and clear instructions. Highly recommend!

    Andrew2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We rented this house for 3 nights for a corporate off-site. It was actually the only place I could find near Bar Harbor with 8 separate beds, and it worked out great. Ideal location - very close to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house isn't new/modern, but I'd say about what you'd expect for a cottage up in northern Maine. It was clean, had all of the ammenities we needed, and Carolyn even brought us a grill on day 2, at our request. The house has a large living room that worked well as an ad-hoc conference room (we brought a projector for our training sessions). Again, perfect for what we needed. If you need something more upscale you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you don't mind sharing a few rooms in an 'older-style' house, this place fits the bill. Carolyn is also super responsive and is a great host!

    Matthew2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Host was very welcoming and great at communicating. Premises couldn't have been at a better location. Place was spacious and accommodating.

    Kattyuska2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn made sure to follow up with me prior to my stay and gave me instructions on how to check in to the residence. The space was very large and comfortable. If you have a large group this residence will accommodate that.

    Stephanie2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this house was amazing. We were right next to the Cadillac Mountain Park entrance and a short four minute drive into downtown Bar Harbor. The house was very spacious. Not only did it have six bedrooms, but a couple of the bedrooms had multiple beds - two twins, a full and twin - for different combinations of people. Also there was a nice porch off of the side, allowing people to separate from the group for brief periods of solitude if desired. There was a clothesline off the porch that was ideal for hanging damp clothing or towels to air dry. Carolyn was a very responsive and accommodating host.

    Amanda2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Carolyn's house. Location is amazing and house has everything you need. Dmitry

    Dmitry2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 8 adults enjoyed the location of Carolyn's place for the close proximity to hiking trails and to Bar Harbor. There were plenty of beds/seating for all and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking meals. We enjoyed seeing the deer and fawn in the yard and woods, and also picking a few ripe raspberries and blueberries near the front door. Carolyn was friendly and easy to communicate with.

  • Spacious, clean, and comfortable base for a large group. Monika was always available and quick to respond to questions. Quick drive to Bar Harbor restaurants and shops, and to Acadia National Park. Great for toddlers, not a lot of things for them to break or trip over in the home.

    Jeeyun2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to a spotless home that even had a plate of cookies waiting for us! Everything was clean and modern. Fantastic location too. Plenty of room for a large family. Great experience. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • This five bedroom house was immaculate, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Would be an ideal place for a family gathering. The house is very close to Acadia National Park and a 5 minute drive to Bar Harbor.

    Jane2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The home was most comfortable and the location was close enough to all the places we wanted to visit in Bar Harbour but spaced away enough for all the tourist attractions for privacy. We would definitely stay again

    Laura2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home in a neighborhood close to downtown Bar Harbor on a busy corner during morning and evening business traffic. Plenty of space to spread out with spacious bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen with pots/pans if you plan to cook while there. The pleasant surprise for us was the gas wood stove to take the chill off a cool evening. You won't be disappointed! Highly recommended.

    Ella2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 15 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Wonderful home to stay at while visiting the Bar Harbor area. The house was immaculate. We were greeted with a lit front porch with welcoming red outdoor chairs and chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen! Very roomy with plenty of bedrooms. The house has many lovely updates and we would certainly stay here again. It made our vacation just that more special!

    Roben2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, less than a five-minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor in Acadia National Park in the other direction. There are five bedrooms and three full bathrooms, a great kitchen, dining room, and den. The back patio and front porch are also lovely for sitting. Check-in was easily handled at the front desk of a local hotel, where we received the house key, directions, and a parking space for the times we wished to park closer to town. The weekend we stayed, the water pressure was a little lower than would've been ideal, but that was relatively minor considering how much we enjoyed the stay!

Brand New cape with the best of both worlds; just one mile to the center of town, bordering Acadia National Park and on the bus route. * Saturday to Saturday rental. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, bright, airy, open and quiet. **Please remember rentals are Saturday to Saturday**
The best of both worlds! Avoid the crowds in town but you are only a mile from it all! The park loop road access is right down the street. Hiking and biking trails are in your backyard!
Quiet neighborhood with National Park hiking trails in your back yard. Pets are welcome for an extra fee. Let me know if you want to bring yours when you are booking.
  • Kathy's place was amazing! I stayed there with my husband, mom, and 4 month old. Just as others mentioned, it was incredibly clean and well equipped! We had a lot of fun just hanging out on the deck and enjoying the fresh air. It was also very easy to get to Acadia, either by car or shuttle.

    Annie2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay! We had six adults plus a dog and were very comfortable in Kathy's Cape. Very quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Bar Harbor. Great value...would definitely stay there again.

  • Kathy was a wonderful host. The house was charming and the location wonderful. It was so quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. I would recommend her home to anyone. Going to restaurants and shops was a piece of cake. Thank you for a great stay.

    Tara2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival, there was a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers on the kitchen counter to greet us. The home was immaculately clean and looked exactly as the pictures; I felt like I had already been there before! The location was ideal if you plan to use the carriage roads to bike or walk. It is super close to town but not too close for comfort (as August is apparently a pretty happening month in Bar Harbor!) and a short drive to both Acadia's Visitor's Center and park entrance. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and wold stay here again if back in the area.

    Eric-Sue2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and we'd definitely go back. Kathy was a great host and the House is perfect, well equipped, and much bigger than it looked from the pictures. A very comfortable set up and easily coped with our family of 5. Great location for access to the park and Bar Harbor. Highly recommended!

    Peter2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy's Cape was perfect for our group of to couples visiting Acadia NP and the Bar Harbor area. The home is very convenient to town and the entrance to Acadia. Everything was as presented by the owner, except Kathy forgot to stress how nice she is and how she makes her clients, aka, new friends, feel so at home. Even the neighborhood deer showed up to say high. The house is well furnished for six people. The furniture is comfortable and everything worked fine. There was even a knife sharpener for those who don't like to deal with the dull knives usually found in rentals. We will definitely be renting the house again when we visit in the future .

    David2015-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Kathy's. The photographs accurately reflect the property which is a real home from home. It really is a lovely house in a perfect location, ideal for Bar Harbor and the surrounding area.

  • Our family of 5 can't say enough about our stay. The house is very clean and well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet but close to downtown and Acadia. All the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals. Kathleen goes out of her way to make it feel like home. The fresh flowers were a nice touch, as well as the Maine and Acadia decor. We highly recommend you stay here!

The first floor apartment has an open floor concept with a full equipped kitchen, a large living room and a spacious outdoor deck.

  • This stay suited our needs perfectly. 2 couples with car. Plenty of room. Inexpensive given its Bar Harbor location. We had a leisurely breakfast, made a solid lunch and took off for the day. Came home late, cleaned up and rested before heading out to a couple of nice restaurants. Project Social can be added to the list of recommended restaurants! This is a "value " stay, clean, quiet, and comfortable, but not luxurious, just as described.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Jennice’s property and we would stay again. The unit was clean and ready for our arrival. The location is a perfect to begin and end a day of exploring the area. As noted the unit is about a 20 minute walk or short drive to Bar Harbor town center which is good if you wish to be away from the crowded streets. Jennice and Ruddy followed up via email to make certain we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We recommend the unit to fellow travelers.

  • We stayed at this airbnb in September. It was clean and comfortable, just as the listing said. We walked to downtown bar harbor, only a 15-20 minute walk. Also a quick bike ride to the carriage trails. A good location for a decent price (we booked late). We didn't meet the hosts in person but they were very quick to reply to emails. Thanks!

The house is one block from the ocean, and also within a short walk to a trail that leads into the park. It was nice to have the benefit of being close to town, but also within walking distance to the trails. The house was spotless, and basic amenities are available. There is a fenced in area with a dog, and the area is very dog friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location!

  • I was greeted by the hosts on my arrival while my dog was treated with gifts. Our family instantly fell in love with the care provided by the hosts. Furthermore, on entering the house, I was blown away by the cleanliness of the house: clean carpets, clean and spacious kitchen, very clean bathrooms, well arranged and spacious backyard, and clean bedrooms with very clean bedsheets. Towels are provided and the hosts are available on call. After a long day of hike that started literally from the hosts property, we relaxed and enjoyed a cup of coffee in the living room with the Acadia National Park outlooking through its windows. We definitely enjoyed our trip to Maine and loved our stay at the Sumemrtime Cottages. It's at the top of our list of recommended hosts.

Quaint home located in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by local folks and travelers alike. Surrounded by mountains, this home is within one mile of three different entrances to Acadia National Park. Walk to the center of Bar Harbor, easily bike to the park. This location is ideal for those who want to be close to the action yet not in the middle of it. The home offers 2 bedrooms, all new beds, a large sit in kitchen, comfy living area and a great covered porch.
This is a great location for those who bike or want to spend their time hiking in Acadia National Park. Bike to the park easily from the house as there are 3 park entrances within a mile from the home. Or you can easily walk to the hub of Bar Harbor. The home is located on the edge of town, far away enough to have privacy in a quiet neighborhood, and yet close enough to be in the heart of town in no time at all.
The neighborhood sits on the edge of Kebo Valley Golf Course which is the third oldest Golf Course in the United States. It is also one of the most beautiful spots on the island as it sits in the valley of Cadillac and surrounding mountains. This is a very quiet older neighborhood in Bar Harbor. This neighborhood burned totally in the great fire of 1947 and the neighborhood was rebuilt in the years that followed.
  • Sharon is a very nice host. She is very helpful and she gave us great suggestions on where to go and what to do to make our vacation more enjoyable. She treated us like her own friends. Her house is very clean and it has all the things that we needed. We were very comfortable and very satisfied. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and family who will visit Bar Harbor. The house is close to downtown and acadia park. Thank you so much again Sharon!!! You are one of the best :)

  • The location for us was perfect, we could walk into town, and it was a short drive to Acadia park entrance. The house was very clean and well (URL HIDDEN) had everything we needed for the week, although we did not cook at the house it has a fully stocked kitchen. Sharon is a great host and offered a lot of great suggestions for things to do and see. She was very responsive to any questions we had prior to the trip and while we were there. This was our first airbnb experience, it was a positive experience and hope that future experiences are as great as this one.

Our cozy 3 bedroom house is located 0.7 miles to the Village Green in downtown Bar Harbor from where you can access the park shuttle bus and shopping and dining. We are also 0.7 miles to the Cadillac Mtn entrance into Acadia.
The house is a ranch-style home, originally built in the 1960's and completely renovated in 2008. In 2016, the attached garage was converted into a beautiful, cathedral ceiling great room that provides plenty of natural sunlight. The great room is offset from the rest of the house by 6 steps. The basement is unfinished, but includes a play space with board games, ping pong, and a video game console. The house features a front and back deck. There is a gas grill and seating on the back deck. The front deck overlooks the garden and includes additional outside seating.
  • Our family had a wonderful time! Melissa is super responsive. The house was exactly as described and very well maintained and SUPER clean! There was blueberries and raspberries we can pick in the garden which was an added bonus! The location is amazing super close to national park and bar harbor. I highly recommend this place!

  • This is an outstanding choice for a family or group that wants proximity to all that MDI has to offer, without being "in-town" nor out in the woods. A VERY convenient location, though next to a well-traveled road, so expect some noise. The cleanliness, comforts, and overall amenities provided rise to meet the high standard set by such a great location. Melissa communicated early on with the details needed to gain entry, so we did not actually meet up in person, and all went well throughout our weeklong stay. Sparkling experience, as the home base for any and all things you will want to do in this special corner of Maine!!

  • We had a wonderful time on Mount Desert Island. The house (in walking distance to Bar Harbor) was absolutely beautiful, very tastefully furnished and had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. The host responded immediately to emails, the descriptions were accurate and the kids were pleasantly surprised to have a large TV. We would love to come again.

    Birgit2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect for our family of 5. Having older children, 12, 16 & 18 we were able to walk the .8 mile into the town if we didnt want to drive and fight for a parking space in the busy downtown area of Bar Harbor. We found the location to be perfect for our desire to spend time in Bar Harbor and Acadia as well as a 25 minute commute to Southwest Harbor for a fishing trip. The house is very spacious and clean with a modern kitchen. The 2nd bathroom in the basement came in handy. Although located on Rt 3, the house is set back behind trees and shrubbery making it more private. Melissa is quick to respond to any questions and we truly loved our stay. Would stay here again on a return trip.

    Kristen2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy home within easy walk distance of Bar Harbor. Would definitely recommend the place!

  • Melissa contacted us with some special events going on and also sent us some great links for things to do in town and in the park. She made arrival extremely easy by emailing us all of the necessary details, and we were amazed at how beautiful and clean the house was. We were even in for a surprise with the roomy, cool basement that had an awesome play space for our kids. We were provided with everything we needed - the kitchen supplies were complete and gorgeous, along with every other room in the house. She has thought of everything.

    Mandy2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful and well maintained home with a lovely garden. The location is very convenient and close to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park as well as a local seafood shop. Our family had a great time in Maine and we would recommend this house to anyone visiting.

    Ping2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's property was ideally located just outside of downtown Bar Harbor. It was very spacious and suitable for 5 easily. Everything we needed was there including laundry, iron, cooking utensils, tv, etc. The home was very clean. Melissa offered excellent suggestions and was prompt to respond when needed. We travel a lot and we definitely recommend this home.

This cozy year round cottage is in town Bar Harbor with dramatic views of Frenchman Bay. Devon is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and bars. Sleeps 4 and has a garage for car and bike storage. We offer long weekends off season and whole weeks from June to October.
We have for all guests the guide book that we publish called A Walk in the Park and an island map in house for them to use.
We live directly across the street from the elementary school which has a great field, playground, and a large mostly unused parking are to skate or ride bikes on.
  • We felt welcomed by Nina, but she did not crowd us at all. She made us feel as though she trusted us and she was available if we had any questions. The house was as it is listed, but we didn't realize that the sleeping arrangements were not very private for two couples. The guest house was great and the location was even better, and the price was very reasonable. It would be perfect for a family of four! We loved visiting Bar Harbor, which is within walking distance of the house. We also loved visiting Acadia National Park, and it is also very close, about 5 minutes away. This is such a beautiful area and well worth the trip.

    Ria 2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Very conveniently located! We walked to everything in town.

    Lisa2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were running a little late, so I communicated with Nina via text. She met us as we drove in and suggested some places to go and gave us a little overview of the house. The property is very nice set up on a hill. It was nice to have our own garage. I feel like the place is much nicer in person. The inside photos don't do it justice! We had plenty of privacy and it was very quiet and comfortable there. It was only a 10 minute walk into town and Acadia National Park is very close. A supermarket is nearby for any supplies you may need. Plenty of places to chose from to go out and eat too! Beautiful area! Highly recommend.

    Andrea2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nina made us feel welcome. She was very helpful and answered our questions we had regarding the area. The cottage was beautiful! We had such a good time there and loved the Bar Harbor area. I would definitely return to Devon Cottage again and probably stay longer. Thanks Nina.

  • Nina was very responsive in getting us easily settled in to the cottage. The cottage itself was the perfect size for a couple or a family of four with an open concept and airy feel. We loved having views of Frenchman Bay from the main living area and front porch. We also appreciated the location's easy access to downtown Bar Harbor, which is only a ten minute walk away.

    Jerry2016-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Devon Cottage earlier this month and it was perfect for me, my husband and our one year old to stay in. When we arrived, Nina greeted us and showed us around the house, she was very nice and helpful. She also found a spare baby gate for us to use while we were there which was appreciated. The house is right on the corner of the main area of Bar Harbor so we walked every time we went into town, very convenient. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed, we felt very at home there. We were able to park our car in the garage and keep our bikes there as well. I would definitely recommend this place and we'd love to stay here again next year!

Our home is close to the Bar Harbor town center, public transport, Acadia National Park, shops and nightlife. You’ll love our place because of the location and ambiance. It is near downtown but private and quiet with plenty of off street parking and a spacious garden. The space is great for couples, families (including kids), and big groups. 3 bedrooms plus additional sleeping futon in living room and sleeper sofa on the sunporch.
The property can accommodate 8 guests. Two queen beds are in the two downstairs bedrooms, with an additional stowaway bed that can be placed wherever preferred. The third bedroom is a loft on the 2nd floor with two twin beds. The living room contains a futon that pulls out to a double bed as well as a futon chair that can pull out into a single bed (with ottoman). The sunroom contains a sleeper sofa. The garden contains a grill that you can use, as well as outdoor seating, adding to the many ways you can enjoy the house and make yourself comfortable while you are here. We hope to have the opportunity to host you!
  • Richard and Elsie were wonderful hosts. The thoughtful little touches they had made in keeping their guests comfortable were evident from the moment we stepped in the door. From the loads of towels, beach towels, having the AC's running prior to our arrival, the information booklets in the apartment on what to do to the way the beds were made and the warm personal welcome we were treated to, made us feel welcome and comfortable to be in their home. The home is right next to Cottage Street and minutes walk from Main Street Bar Harbor which made accessing great restaurants, department stores and shopping immediately accessible. Entry to Acadia National Part was just a short 10-15 minute walk away. We had great meals at Stewmans, Rosalie's and 2 Cats - and shopped at Hannaford's - walked to each one of them. We Kayaked in the ocean and walked to the Kayak rentals also a short walk away. The home is an ideal location for seeing the park and being in town close to all the action. In short - great location, good clean home and amazing hosts. Book your next trip to Acadia here.

  • Great location on a quiet street, walking distance to everything in town! Plenty of room and we appreciated the newly installed second full bathroom in the basement. Beds were very comfy.

  • This was a great place!! The garden outside was absolutely beautiful! It's a perfect place to eat breakfast or hang outside. The location was (URL HIDDEN) Bar Harbor but a little outside of the hustle and bustle of the main drag. And it's right behind Two Cats, which is a great restaurant for breakfast. There is plenty of parking and it's so easy to head into Acadia from there. We were really happy with it all!

  • We had a fabulous time in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Richard and Elsie's home was lovely and so close to downtown Bar Harbor! They were so responsive to our requests and inquiries and we would definitely stay in their home again.

  • We had a great time in Bar Harbor in Richard and Elsie's lovely house. The house is very clean and had everything we need. The location of the house is great, only minutes to downtown Bar Harbor's great restaurants. Neighborhood is quite and we enjoyed walking around. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National park.

  • Our hosts made us feel immediately welcome prior to our arrival, and made sure we had everything available for our comfort. The house was quaint and clean, in a great spot in Bar Harbor. Elsie and Richard felt extremely approachable and accessible and made sure to check up on us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with the location. This is the only place we'll need to stay at whenever we return.

2nd floor apartment in Downtown Bar Harbor! My place sleeps up to 9 but the posted price is for up to 7 people. Each additional guest is 25$ per night extra. There are 2 large bedrooms (one with 2 queen beds, one with a full bed and 2 single beds and a futon couch in the living room(one of 2 couches in the living room). PETS ARE NEGOTIABLE, there is a pet fee and pets are not allowed on furniture or bedding.
You can walk to the ocean in 10-15 minutes! The close accessibility to everything downtown has to offer can include early morning deliveries to surrounding businesses. There is a bike rental shop directly next door and restaurants all around. 3 Blocks to large supermarket!
  • Cottage St is at a convenient location in Bar Harbor. There are many of the shops and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of an old building. A narrow staircase with creaky stairs and floors leads up to the apartment. We found there was a single bathroom for this apartment that could house 7 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom ceiling has a slope where the shower is located and it is difficult to stand in it if you’re > 5’4”. Some of the bathroom facilities could use a bit more maintenance/updates. The host was quick to respond to messages and provided adequate instructions for checking in and checking out.

  • I'm a traveling professional working a short term contract in Bar Harbor and stayed here for a little over a week as I waited for my seasonal housing to open up. The apartment is lovely and much larger than I was anticipating, with two large bedrooms, a great living space and a large balcony. It is right on cottage street with a restaurant below it and a lively bar next door. The front bedroom can be a bit noisy with the windows open but it never bothered me and the convenience of the location made up for any noise disturbance.

    Drew2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Bobbie Lynn's place was just what we were looking for! We really enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor, particularly the central location of the apartment.

    Emily2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, for the $190 per night price, we felt the quality was below the average ratings we saw online. Pros: > Convenient location near grocery stores, seafood vendors and restaurants/bars. > Lovely upstairs balcony/deck with a gas grill that worked very well. We grilled out every night. > Well equipped kitchen. > Clean apartment with two bed rooms that can sleep 4. Cons: > The bedroom windows were difficult to close, leading to drafts and street-noise (beer deliveries to the next door bar in the early morning and cruise ship fog horns). We expected there to be noise but not this issue with windows. > The shower is a bath tub surrounded by a shower curtain and with a low ceiling on top (we are 5'2'' and 5'6'' and found it uncomfortable). Stepping in and out of the tub is somewhat dangerous and the curtain tends to cling to you while you shower. > There was no toilet brush in the bathroom. Not essential, but it would have been a nice touch to include that as well as some basic toiletries. > Having a washer/dryer would be a nice addition given there is a long minimum stay. > The cleaning fee of $100 seemed excessive but the place was clean and perhaps that is typical for Bar Harbor.

  • Close to all activities in Bar Harbor. If you are planning a rock climbing trip (Atlantic Climbing School) this accommodation worked great as a base camp for our group. We would use these accommodations again if we plan another rock climbing event.

  • Amazing location and great communication. There is currently a couple living in the apt and they are extremely friendly and helped me game plan my hiking trips and even called restaurants that served live lobster, as most of the lobster/clam spots don't open til May. They mentioned they are moving out soon but they were wonderful and had an adorable dog. There is some street noise in the early morning but I came here to get the most out of Arcadia National Park (a skip away) and downtown bar harbor so I appreciated the early wake up call :) there is a nice breakfast spot (2 cats cafe) literally across the way with some of the best biscuits I've had. Maybe in another lifetime, I'd ask if I could move in as well because as BL stated "[their] beautiful island" truly swept me off my feet and left me breathless. Thank you so much!

    Paul2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if you want to stay closer to the downtown. 5mins walk to the grocery store Hanna food, 8mins walk to the downtown guest visiting center. The house is the second floor of a cafe shop. it is easily to park on the street even without the private parking. There are concerns need to notified is the early morning noise from the street and the bathroom limitation. If you have sleeping issues, it might not be the perfect place. And if you have over 5people stay, you probably need to plan how to arrange the bath time~ the ceiling is very close to your head when you taking the shower. The greatest part is the balcony. You can enjoy barbecue on the balcony with your friends. There is a large table and several nice chairs on the balcony. Bedrooms are clean and big enough. Overall, it is a great place to stay if you want to enjoy the beautiful fall in Arcadia.

The Holland Inn B&B provides an informal option for travelers who enjoy great food and who may appreciate local insight about the area. See the web site for all info.
  • Evin was delightful. The inn was right downtown and was a tidy and comfortable place to stay. Needless to say, Bar Harbor is a gem and the Holland Inn is a great place to stay. Breakfast was damn good too... As good (if not better) than anything we ate in town. Thanks too for all the hiking tips : )

  • Evin is a great host, and her breakfasts are fantastic. She is on premises virtually all of the time and is generous with her advice on local restaurants and attractions. The inn itself is within walking distance of downtown and the harbor, which makes it easy to pop in and out while exploring the city. Acadia is only a short drive or bus ride away. We had an excellent stay and would recommend Holland Inn B&B to anyone looking for a nice experience in Bar Harbor.

  • Can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B, host Evan and the location! Really best breakfast at any B&B I've been to, Evan gave us tons of advice on things to do and see in town! What a great trip! Would definitely stay here again on next visit. Rooms are a little bit smaller than hotel rooms if you are used to 2 queen beds. Our room had 1 queen bed. But we knew that was what it was ahead of time, had a nice big bathroom, great porch, coffee maker, everything you would need! We mostly walked everywhere as location is so perfect! Real close to the sand bar which connects to Bar Island! Again. perfect visit! would highly recommend.

  • The Holland Inn was a great place to stay while my boyfriend and I spent a couple of days hiking in Acadia. The room was a great size with a private bathroom. My favorite part of my experience at the Holland Inn was the breakfast - it was absolutely fantastic. The bumble berry butter was out of this world. The inn is also very close to downtown bar harbor, and we spent an entire afternoon exploring the historic sea cottages and the shops/restaurants in the area. Evins advice on which hikes to do was also invaluable. I would definitely come back here again!

  • Everything was just how it was described. My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days in Maine, we had a wonderful time. Would and have recommended staying at the Holland Inn B&B. Evin was very nice had great suggestions for things to do and I don't think you can find a better breakfast, so delicious! Would definitely go back again.

  • The Holland Inn was the perfect place for our stay in Bar Harbor. The room was very cozy and had a nice big bathroom. The location was excellent, close enough to the center of town that it was a convenient to walk but far enough that we were able to enjoy some peace and quiet. What set the Holland Inn apart from anywhere else is Evin, the innkeeper. She's incredibly warm and accommodating and immediately makes you feel super welcome and at home, and she's super helpful with recommendations for things to do in town or in the park. Evin's breakfast creations were easily the highlight of our stay. She strikes a fantastically delicious balance of spicy, sweet, and salty in her dishes -- and she will cater to any and all dietary restrictions. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Bar Harbor, and next time we're in town there's no question that we'll be staying at the Holland Inn.

Very accommodating and roomy 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house located steps from Cottage St., which is one of the village's main thoroughfares. All of the bedrooms are on the second floor with one full bathroom on each floor. Clean and Cozy!!
  • Very nice vacation home - very comfortable! Blueberry pie waiting for us. Convenient walk to downtown Bar Harbor and short drive to Acadia National Park. Other than very loud music from a bar across the street for about 1-1/2 hrs. around midnight on a Tues and Weds - go figure, it was fantastic. Love going for breakfast next door at 2 Cats!

    Jean2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a convenient location near restaurants and walking to the water front is not far either. 2 bedrooms are connected on each side with a bathroom in the middle. The living room is comfortable and you can watch tv or play board games there.

  • My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at Shaun and Carrie's lovely home. We arrived, got settled in, and found a yummy blueberry pie waiting for us - it was a nice treat. The house was clean, cozy, and conducive to hanging out and relaxing. It was also in the heart of Bar Harbor, with easy access to the bay, Bar Island, Acadia National Park, restaurants, and other cool spots. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area!

    Kristen2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and well taken care of. Lots of room to relax and stretch out after a long day of hiking in Acadia and exploring Bar Harbor. Also the house is in a great location and easy to walk everywhere in Bar Harbor. Highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Shaun & Carrie's house in Bar Harbor. The location was very convenient and walkable to to shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Everything was clean and comfortable inside, with lots of games for our kids to play with. Off-street parking was a bonus. Shaun was very quick to reply to texts (not that there were any issues requiring assistance).

    Michael2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • There was no one there to greet and orient. Had to contact realtor to find out how to get in. Fortunately we are very familiar with the area. Parking very tight, especially if others don't park their cars correctly. Funky house, steep staircases, some mini-steps to be careful of. Very clean and beds very comfortable. Bedrooms Would be very hot in summer. Kitchen has no condiments at all, even salt. Nothing to cook in oven. Lighting, heat, and wifi good. Entry thru cellar a bit unnerving. Should be warned. Once upstairs it is fine for most part. Can go in and out the front door but have to walk around the block to get to the car so going out the cellar is most effficient. they asked that we strip the beds and wash the linens. I did this but seemed a bit brazen when paying their rate. They said they asked this because the cleaners "have limited time"......seriously!

    Joyce2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, walk to downtown and grocery store.

    Marta2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We knew nothing about the area before our trip, so we totally lucked out by choosing this house! Our family of four had room to spare, and we were totally comfortable there. We had everything we needed, and the location was prime. We were able to walk everywhere in town from the house, including the harbor, the grocery store, restaurants, bike rental for a ride into Acadia, and shopping. If you're considering Acadia for your next trip, this is a great place for your home base. P.S. Get some ice cream to go with your pie. Delicious!

We are located in downtown Bar Harbor, walking distance to the Sand Bar, natural food & grocery store, the village green, restaurants, movie theaters and more. Our home is on a quieter side street in downtown Bar harbor. Acadia is a fabulous park to explore!
Buying a home in downtown Bar Harbor was not easy! After looking at many, many properties, we selected The Rusticator for its convenience and walkability. We walk to most everything: our elementary school, work, shopping, the green, restaurants, ice cream and yoga classes. The open concept kitchen filled with natural sunlight was perfect. The backyard with its spacious lawn, deck and gardens is unique in downtown Bar Harbor and has been great for outdoor grilling and essential for our son and his friends. The decorative fireplace, wood floors and stairwell also caught our attention.
We live on a side street in downtown Bar Harbor. We are an "urban" neighborhood nestled around other year round residents and weekly rentals. Our favorite part of where we live is being able to walk to places in town! Though our neighborhood is on a side street, downtown is bustling in the summer so cars and people will explore the area. We are not a through street. We are lucky to have a backyard, garden and deck which is unique in our area!
  • Beautiful home! Beds were very comfy, very clean, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We did not need to use the car all week!! Definitely would stay there again!!

  • Great place. Very close to the water, shops, and restaurants with easy access to Acadia. Well-stocked kitchen and great communication from the hosts.

    Todd2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ursula was beyond a perfect host! Information galore about bar harbor, and Acadia, coupons and brochures awaited us, so we became excited the moment we walked in! The house was welcoming, homey and very clean. Perfect and large enough for a couple with 3 adult children. Ursula was available for each question almost immediately, although no problems with the house. We loved our experience and would return in a heartbeat!

    Brian2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house was terrific. We were a party of five in a house that could accommodate 8. The rooms were bright, large and airy. The beds were incredibly comfortable. There were two full baths and one included a tub for taking baths. The kitchen was fully equipped. The yard was spacious, private and included a gas grill. The location was great. We walked to town nearly everyday. The supermarket was around the corner as was the health food store. We walked to the movie theaters, to restaurants, to shops, and to the village green where we hopped onto buses that took us all over the island and national park. Ursula was a great host! Communication was quick and easy. She left gift certificates for ice cream and discounts for the health food store. Everything was clearly labeled in the house and there were even games and toys, beach towels and stuff for young children, if you have them. We all agreed, this was a great place to stay.

Our Inn was built in the 1860's and was lovingly restored in 1995. The interior, exterior, and grounds are beautiful. The inn is a peaceful, welcoming sanctuary, perfect for your Bar Harbor and Acadia get away. Fantastic breakfast are included.
  • Stone Throw Cottage was an amazing place to stay for visiting Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor is a great little town and the cottage was great location for everything you would want to do during your visit. The room was great, breakfast was far superior to any other bed and breakfast we have stayed. Jerry and his family were amazing hosts. Already planning a trip back!

  • This bed and breakfast was amazing. It's location is convenient to Acadia and was walkable to the downtown shops/restaurants. The host (Jerry) was welcoming and knowledgeable of the area and park. He lent us a trail map that was extremely helpful during our hikes. The room itself was very clean and Jerry's breakfast in the morning was delicious! We cannot wait to come back again!

  • Lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Cookies, lemonade, tea, water, coffee all out in the dining room for guests to enjoy throughout the day. Right outside downtown, 5 min walk to Main St. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom spotless! And our hosts were welcoming and very helpful with suggesting hikes and bike rides throughout Acadia. We also had the most AMAZING breakfasts every day. I would recommend StoneThrow to anyone looking for a quiet getaway to Bar Harbor/Acadia!

  • My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and could not have asked for a better airbnb experience!! The inn itself is so quaint and the decorations are adorable. Jerry, the host, is extremely knowledgable about hiking and trails in Acadia, and even gave us the best places to eat in Bar Harbor. He immediately made us feel welcome and part of his family, and his breakfasts were the best! The location is perfect (5 min walk tops to main area) and I can't wait to stay here again. Arjaluth's Garden is a small, efficiency apartment with sleeping loft, kitchenette, and private bath within walking distance of Acadia National Park and the village of Bar Harbor. There are hiking trails, restaurants, art galleries, shopping, and public transport close by. Set back from the street, the location is quiet, with a patio and gardens adjacent. A sweet spot for couples or solo adventurers. The sleeping loft is accessible via a Captain's ladder, so guests need to be reasonably agile.
Arjaluth's Garden is a sweet, cozy studio nestled off-street among ferns and flowers. It has a secluded feeling. A great place for a romantic getaway or a private retreat. You have your own kitchen with fridge, double hotplate, coffee & tea kettle, and a toaster oven. There is a spacious sleeping loft, however the center ridge line is only 5'6", so if you are quite tall you'll have to watch your head! It's best reserved for the activity of sleeping and napping. You are welcome to use the adjacent patio and grill, please be aware that sound travels and it is a closely built neighborhood. Your host lives on the premises and is available to help with recommendations for great places to eat, the best hiking trails, and popular locally supported businesses. There are two cats and a friendly dog at the host residence.
Bar Harbor is a unique village located on Mount Desert Island, Maine, and adjacent to the popular Acadia National Park. There is a small town, earthy vibe....You can easily walk into the village for eating and shopping and entertainment, or walk/drive/bike into Acadia National Park and pick up carriage roads, hiking paths, or the Park Loop Road.
  • Lovely garden cottage! Easy walk to downtown for restaurants and the waterfront. Beautiful sitting area in the garden. The cottage's kitchenette was quite stocked and the bathroom had a great shower. Dedicated parking and very convenient to Acadia NP. Nothing but high marks for Deborah as a host and we really enjoyed our stay!

    KATIE2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Deborah's "tiny house." The gardens were as lovely as the pictures; the house was nicely decorated and supplied with all the utensils needed for our stay. The loft does have a low ceiling but was very manageable. We were a short walk to the sites and businesses of Bar Harbor. With the free shuttle bus to Acadia, we took only a few driving trips to more distant sites. Would definitely chose this place again if we return to the area.

  • Quiet, cozy loft with everything you need! I stayed here with my girlfriend for a long 4 day weekend. Walking distance to the town of Bar Harbor, and a quick 10 minute drive to the southeast corner of Acadia to access the park loop road, Cadillac mountain, sand beach, beehive and precipice hikes and more! Lovely home with everything you need to make your own meals including a fully functioning grill and hotplate. Love this home!

    Byron2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's studio was a wonderful stay in Bar Harbor! Would gladly come back again. It is a bit small though so probably perfect for one person or a couple. Other than that everything was great!

    Jen2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I wanted to go to Acadia for a quick recharge week and Deborah's place was absolutely perfect for us. We even cooked a few dinners in the studio! Very close to the park and the town made it ideal to enjoy everything Bar Harbor has to offer (and even though we went before everything was in-season, there was a lot to see and do!). Deborah was such a gracious host and the space was the perfect size for two people.

    Jacqueline2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was blown away by the beauty of Acadia National Park. To enhance the trip for my girlfriend and I Deborah was a great host and very willing and helpful when it came to where to go and what to see. Her insight and hospitality was very welcome. Also her 2 cats and dog made us feel at home. The studio was a little smaller than I initially perceived, however, it was no matter as it was still quite an adequate space for 2. I would absolutely recommend people to stay here in the future and would 100% stay here again if I were to return.

    Anthony2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location. 10 minute walk to town! Kitchenette had everything needed to cook. Loft was perfect. Friendly dog on the property! And cats too! Great place for a great price. Thanks Deborah! Would definitely stay again.

Sunny, spacious bedroom in rambling old house. Central location, comfortable beds, good wi-fi, very clean. Quiet residential neighborhood only a 5-minute walk from Main Street shops and restaurants, and a 5-minute bike ride to Acadia National Park. We are still renovating - see the description for more info.
We bought this building a little over a year ago, and have had a blast renovating it. We've updated the bedrooms and living/dining room, which are bright, airy, and very comfortable, but we are still working on the other rooms, and on landscaping and painting the exterior. You can follow the renovation progress on Instagram at JennSBooher. Your bedroom is on the second floor, freshly painted and comfortably furnished with a king bed, memory foam mattress, and cozy goosedown comforter. There is a deadbolt on the bedroom door for your privacy and security. The shared bathroom is on the same floor. The apartment has a full kitchen. It has not been renovated, so the appliances and cabinetry are old, but the space is well-equipped: it includes a dishwasher, coffee-maker, microwave, Kitchenaid mixer, toaster oven, pots, pans, and baking sheets. There are board games, puzzles, playing cards, and books, as well as an excellent wi-fi connection [50Mbps down and 5Mbps up]. The bathroom has not been renovated either, but has a tub and shower. There are a washer and dryer in the hall. We are currently stripping wallpaper in one of the bedrooms, and may be painting other rooms in the apartment during your stay. We may have an electrician or plumber working as well. The exterior is being painted now (November). Check with me before booking if you have concerns about construction during your stay.
If you head right on Ledgelawn when you leave the house, it's a 10 minute walk to the Park Loop Road (the main road in Acadia National Park). Head left and it's an even shorter walk to restaurants, stores, and bike rentals. Main Street is about 4 minutes away.
  • Jennifer's place is comfortable and homey. If you intend to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped. At the time of this review, Jennifer is making improvements on the property but the place was very clean and tidy.

    Seth2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was great to stay with. We had a variable schedule for checking in because of a delayed flight, and she worked with us. The room was clean, and the kitchen well furnished. The bed was super comfortable too. The location was very convenient to downtown, and she even put together a helpful book of local info.

  • Jennifer was a great and helpful host. At check-in, Jennifer gave us a quick tour and intro of the place. She was very good with answering our questions and gave great advice on where to eat and hike. Location is a short walk from downtown Bar Harbor and a very short drive to Acadia. We were a little apprehensive about sharing a single bathroom and kitchen with another room that she also rents, but there was absolutely no conflict there. • The host at Huckleberry Inn gave us a warm welcoming along with numerous suggestions in the area. The accommodations for meticulously clean and comfortable with an ideal walkable location in the town of Bar Harbor. This is a beautiful area to explore and I would highly recommend it. Thank you Carol and Jim.

  • My wife and I had a great stay in this lovely cottage apartment. Carol went over the top in thinking about preparing it for our 9-month old son crawling around. The apartment was very clean, cute, and stocked with even more than we expected, such as games, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, fun crafts, etc. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

    Marco2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jim & Carol's during a trip to Bar Harbor for a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Huckleberry Suite! There were 4 of us (two couples) and the sleeping arrangements with the separate bedroom and the addition of a comfortable futon worked out well for us. The cute balcony was a nice addition and we enjoyed many mornings and evenings there. The space is roomy enough to spread out, the beds provided a good night's sleep and the location was just perfect. We were able to walk everywhere and it helped that Jim & Carol provide plenty of local tips that helped us make the most of our time in Bar Harbor. This place is right in the action! We wish we had more time here and definitely recommend Jim & Carol's place to anyone looking for a cozy home base while exploring the area. Acadia National Park is amazing and so are these hosts and we can't wait to come back to visit!

    Anthony & Hayley2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly wonderful stay at 3 Higgins Terrace! The apartment was perfect for us - the pictures don't do it justice! Carol has also stocked the apartment with everything one would want and need for a one week stay. The location also is unbeatable - it's a block away from the main town center - and a 15 minute drive to Acadia. Carol and Jim were also exceptional hosts - our car battery went dead mid trip and carol and Jim helped us get it jump started without even a hesitation. We will gladly stay here again during our next trip to Acadia.

  • Brian's house is a great location with a easy walk to town. That being said, Brian is a young man with a young man's sensibilities. He provides a room with clean sheets and not much more. I'm not sure if the end of the season has brought grime or what, but I did not find the cleanliness every other review mentioned - and I'm not that picky. We also had to ask for towels. He did offer good restaurant choices and we enjoyed the Side Street Cafe very much. If this had been my first Airbnb I might never have tried again.

  • What a fantastic place. Super nice and clean inside, convenient location, quiet, tons of space and beds, perfect for large groups, decent price, great service, everything was great! Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed!

  • The location is 2 blocks away from the Main St of Bar Harbor. The house is on the older side, but well decorated and clean. The top floor appears to be recently refinished and is in great condition. It has a nice grill in the backyard which we used for several meals. It was a good experience and I would use the service again.

  • My group of friends were planning a road trip for spring break and Bar Harbor was one of the stops along the way. Sherri was a great and communicative host - she answered all of my questions while I was in the process of searching for housing and was very communicative on the dates leading up to the stay. Check in was very easy as was check out. This house is close to everything you need in Bar Harbor; we were able to go to restaurants within walking distance and the grocery store was only down the block. Plus, the house is very well-stocked in terms of kitchen items. It has every kitchen tool that you will need. Great place to stay for Bar Harbor!

  • We are a group of five photographers who came to photograph Acadia in winter. Spindrift was the perfect place to stay. The house is charming and comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare our meals. We were able to relax at the dining room table after a day of photographing and work on our images. What a great place. I highly recommend Spindrift!

  • Sherri's place was amazing to stay at! We travelled with nine people and had no problem fitting everyone comfortably with the ample room in bedrooms. The amenities were very nice, and it was super close to both Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. Walking distance from Hannaford made grocery runs quick and easy. Overall a perfect place to stay at when you're trying to visit Acadia National Park!

  • The house was great. Great location, very clean, very well equipped with everything you'd need (in the kitchen, the TV/wifi, etc), and good beds! Very nice street. We went with our family of four, and it was perfect. We either walked, rode bikes, or drove a very short stretch into town (if we were tired from hiking), and we went into the park every day. We took the Bicycle Express from town if we were going into the park with bikes, which was extremely convenient and easy - better than going by car. We took the shuttles into the park sometimes, and drove to the visitors center sometimes. Grocery store nearby (5 minutes by car), bike rental places, etc. Acadia National Park was spectacular!!!

  • The house is in a lovely quiet street a short walk from the town or short drive to Acadia national park. The space in the house was nice and sociable for our family group. We had a great few days visit to the area.

  • This little house is a gem. It is on a quiet side street just behind all the tourist spots, so you can walk to ice creams, restaurants, pubs and the waterfront, but stay in a quiet, secluded residential home.

    Alistair2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect for me, my wife, my brother in law, his wife and their two French Bulldogs for a getaway from Boston to enjoy the park. The kitchen had everything we needed from a cast iron pan to a coffee machine & filters to plates/glasses. The location was a quiet neighborhood and a short walk from the Bar Harbor's shops and restaurants. Overall we could consider staying here again in the future.

    Roberto2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean but nothing fancy and close to downtown which is a plus. Safe neighborhood. Be prepared to strip all bedding and start a load of wash before checkout. There was no communication during our stay.

  • What a wonderful little home! We had a great time experiencing Bar Harbor and all Acadia National Park has to offer; it's right in the middle of the action. Kate was very accommodating and gave some great recommendations for dinner in Bar Harbor. The house was very tidy and clean with more than enough amenities to accommodate 5 people. We will definitely be back during our next trip to the area! Thanks again Kate!
