My place is appx. 60 miles south of Marfa near the Rio Grande, with great views of the Chinati and Sierra Madre mountains. There is no physical address, GPS will get you lost due to so many old ranch roads and locked gates, print the directions I have listed and arrive before dark if possible. You’ll love my place because of the location, in the Ruidosa Ghost Town. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
“Charlie's place is exactly what you need if you want an escape from your day-to-day life. I definitely suggest taking the scenic route if you have an appropriate vehicle. After experiencing the most beautiful drive in Texas, you'll find yourself at the perfect west Texas getaway. Charlie's house is rustic and authentic with a ton of fun rooms and nicknacks to explore. His kitchen is stocked with plenty of spices, utensils and pots and pans to cook anything you need. The outdoor area is breathtaking. There are various little nooks to eat in, a grill to cook on, a fire pit to roast s'mores on, and a pool and deck with the most incredible view. At night, you'll see every star in view. Thanks Charlie, for providing us with an awesome getaway that was everything we needed.”
“This is a great place to stay is close to city center, space is ideal for 2 to 4 people. Host is close by and he was very attentive to our needs. This is a mixed commercial and residential neighborhood. Sparkling clean great heating and cooling, we traveled during the december break and had 2 kids with us, host was very friendly and attentive. Overall great!”
5 minutes from anywhere in Presidio, La Casita sits on 5 acres bound by the City on the North and the defunct railroad tracks on the south. Two other residences on property, this is a very private little estate. A cute little piece of history!
“Todd was an incredible host. The casita itself is beautiful with all the amenities we needed. We had just come down from Big Bend around 9pm and Todd was available to help us check in even thought we didn’t notify him until 10 minutes before we got there due to lack of service. Todd’s recommendations led us to visit Ojinaga, which wasn’t part of our plan at all. The area itself is quant and beautiful. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Big Bend (both State, 30 min, and National, 2 hours) and Ojinaga.”
