The chalet is in Goose Ridge, a rural community at the end of a well-maintained yet windy gravel road with several switchbacks as you gain in elevation. Deer, elk, and moose pass through regularly.

Neighboring houses are visible across ridges but are quite far away. The bustling tourist and university town of Bozeman is only 25 minutes away.

In winter a 4WD vehicle and winter driving experience are mandatory to ensure safe access in the event of a big snowfall or thaw/freeze situation.
