The Neighborhood

The ambience of Montmartre without the crowds or high prices.
The neighborhood is eclectic and up-and-coming. Just around the corner on rue Eugene Sue, there is a trendy wine and tapas bar, excellent Italian trattoria and restaurant and some trendy bars. A little further afield, under a ten minute walk, there is a typical Montmartre, and yet not touristic, brasserie.
There are some little art galleries opening up, a few street markets for fresh produce and local foods and a couple large supermarkets as well.
The flat is only three metro stops from Gare du Nord from where you can get the Eurostar to London or the RER to both Paris airports.

Getting around

The flat is less than a minute from metro line 4 and about 3 minute walk from line 12.
There are many bus lines along Boulevard Barbes and rue Ordener giving easy access to all of the major sites of Paris.

  • We enjoyed the stay at Margot´s apartment. It felt like being at home. Whatever we were looking for was close by like grocery stores, bakeries or restaurants.
Montmarte itself was worthwhile exploring. There is more to see other than Sacré Coeur....

  • We enjoyed staying in Margot's flat very much. Lots of old world charm in a quaint neighborhood. Loved Jules cafe only a block away. An award winning baguette shop across the street. The neighborhood was welcoming. Would recommend and authentic.

    Response from Margot:

    Dear Charlane,
I'm glad you enjoyed the flat and neighborhood. thank you for your review. I have told Alexis about your feedback and gave him my foolproof mold buster formula - a mix of bicarbonate of soda and bleach painted on the mold for a few hours and then scrubbed off leaves tub sparkling and white!
    Warm regards,

  • Nice apartment close to Montmartre. The street itself is not so special, but walk just a few blocks and you will find all the shops and restaurants you are looking for in this part of town. The apartment itself has really some peculiarities. Actually it looks like a combination of two tiny apartments, one of the bedrooms can only be reached by walking through the bathroom. Nevertheless, it is clean and the welcome was warm, so recommended.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Margot's. The metro was close enough and it was a very convenient spot to see the rest of Paris. There was a supermarket and stores close by as well to make it convenient for us to buy our supplies.

  • Lovely little apartment with an interesting layout! Great location, only a few minutes walk to Montmatre and the Metro (on two lines) gets you to Gard du Nord and the sights in no time. Margot was away but her friend Alexis was very helpful and charming and both replied quickly to queries. Area felt totally safe and local shops for essentials like fruit, milk, croissants etc. Weather wasn't great but electric heaters warmed the place up quickly and the apartment faces courtyards not the road so is quiet. We had a lovely time!

  • Margot's flat was excellent. We had 6 people and it had more than enough room for us all. It was located in a lovely area with 3 metro stops just 5 minutes away and the Sacre Coeur only a 10 minute stroll up the hill. Great restaurants and supermarkets nearby and the local Sunday street markets are great too.

  • Nice weekend in Paris in Magot's flat. Alexis the very friendly friend of Margot given us the keys. The flat is a little bit smallest then expected, but finaly it's enough for 4 adults and 2 children. It was very quiet and idealy placed for us for going to Stade de France and visit Paris. Metro, restaurants, shops... everything is near the flat. Thanks to Margot and Alexis.

Being an AirBnB host is one of the most enjoyable aspects of owning my flat in Paris. I love to meet people from all over the world and share my passion for Paris and the French culture. I am originally American and have lived in France and abroad for most of my life. I love to travel and will almost never turn down an opportunity to pack my bags and hit the road. Since becoming an AirBnB host, I have received visitors from all over the world. It's the next best thing to travelling!! These days I'm traveling around India so my good friend Alexis will welcome you. We look forward to hosting you.
