Cottage is exactly as described, unpretentious and great for anyone wanting a base to explore Barmouth and the surrounding countryside. Barmouth station is less than 10 minutes walk away, as are most of the pubs, cafes and shops in the town. It was a perfect size for two adults and one seven-year-old, who loved watching the sea from his bunk bed. It's ideal for the changeable Welsh weather - cosy and comfortable for a warm night in front of the fire on inclement days, with a suntrap of a patio perfect for enjoying sunny evenings and taking in a spectacular view to which neither words nor pictures can really do justice. As Brian says, it's quiet and peaceful and we barely heard from the neighbours (a mix of residents and fellow holiday makers). The road up to the parking space behind the cottage is steep and the road back down to town will have your heart in your mouth! The steps up to the cottage will also keep you fit during the holiday, so bear this in mind if you have any physical impairments. Brian was a great host, cheerful and welcoming when we arrived and striking a perfect balance of providing information without overloading us. He was fantastic and friendly in communications before arrival, with lots of advice and information about the property. We'd definitely book again.
We (2 adults and 2 teens) had a splendid time at the cosy cottage in Barmouth. We did a lot of cooking in the well equiped kitchen. The neighbourhood was nice and friendly. The most astonishing view over Barmouth and the sea made our holidays an extraordinary expirience we'd like to have again. The longing for Wales (hireath) will bring us back hopefully soon. Though it was easy to explore the first mountains of Snowdonia right away from the cottage, we did some walking and had even more fantastic views within some minutes. Brian is a very nice and friendly person. He gave us full introduction to the cottage, walking and interesting sites in Barmouth. Which was really helpfull. He left some bread, eggs and butter for our first breakfast. That was kind and helpfull as well. Writing this I have the panorama in my mind. Go and have yourself!
Brian was a great host. He met us at the station and showed us the best places in Barmouth. The cottage has the perfect location to go hiking and explore the area. Beautiful view from the porch, especially at sunset.
Great welcome from Brian who showed us all round the house. Everything you need in the house which is in a lovely position overlooking Barmouth sands. Spectacular sunsets and wonderful walks just behind the property up into the hills.
We were met by Brian at the station and given a comprehensive tour of the property. We found it comfortable, warm and it met all our needs . Brian was out of Barmouth for the days we were there but answered the phone promptly on both occasions, the second time just to say thank you.
Welcomed on arrival & shown round. Everything as good or better than described. Excellent centre for the area with walks on the doorstep.
Brian was at the cottage to meet us. the place itself was great...quite small but ingeniously has everything that you could ask for (unless you want Terrestial TV or Internet).
