Faye was extremly responsive and helpful. She even worked with us so that my daughter and husband could check in early.
We loved everything about this place. It fit our vacation needs to a T. My family was very comfortable in the stylish and well appointed home. The neighborhood was convenient for walking to Center City (Rittenhouse Square, Walnut Street shops, restaurants, and Reading Terminal Market). We loved the skyline view from the deck - and the sunny windows in the master bedroom and large family room. Perfection!
My colleagues and I went to stay at Faye's place for a conference and weren't disappointed. One by one, we walked through the house and each one of us said: wow! I'd be tempted to go back to Philly just to stay here again.
It's a whole town house, all four floors. It was so large we didn't even end up using the main living room! The kitchen was excellent and the rooftop terrace was a perfect place to unwind and chat after a busy day at the conference. Great views and lovely sun.
On top of all this Faye was an impeccable host. Not only was there a bottle of wine waiting for us, but there was a very detailed list of how everything worked and she communicated well throughout.
We were visiting from London and had heard a lot about how Philly can be dangerous. But Faye's neighbourhood, and the surrounding area, is beautiful. We went for a job up the "Rocky Stairs" every morning from the apartment and the whole area along the way (through Rittenhouse Square) is gorgeous. Lots of amazing cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. And lovely buildings.
The only note of caution I'd ring is if people have trouble walking up stairs. Naturally, with four floors, there are just under 50 steps. It wasn't a problem for us and the steps are fine (not ladders like in the Netherlands! :P), but I imagine that if we were of a more mature calibre it may have been tougher going.
Anyway, all in all, I can honestly say: stay here. You'll love it.
Thanks to Faye, we had a beautiful home to live in during our one week stay in Philadelphia. The home is beautiful and well kept. It was spacious and accommodated the five of us wonderfully. The location was perfect for us. It was close to parking, bus routes, restaurants, stores, etc. It turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the city. Thank you, Faye. We would love to return to Philadelphia some day. It is an awesome city, and we all greatly enjoyed our time there.
We had a lovely 5-night stay at Faye's beautiful home. We had family coming to Philadelphia for my daughter’s Drexel University commencement. It was so nice for the family to be able to congregate at one location instead of various hotels. The home is decorated very tastefully and was beyond our expectations. With plenty of space and two separate living rooms for families to spread out. The location was also ideal with the many restaurants and markets nearby. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
About the Host, Faye
I am a feature film costume supervisor who LOVES to travel! Husband is an economics professor who has frequent sabbaticals and summers off, so we are fortunate to indulge our wanderlust. We have a wonderful little boy who has acquired quite a taste for travel and loves checking out foreign food markets. More than visiting the touristic sights, we love immersing ourselves in the culture of our environment.
We are courteous guests and conscientuous hosts, and we hope to meet like-minded people along our way.
