The Space

An old brick-kiln completely renovated and immersed in the green countryside of Cassano Spinola's territory, close to the river Scrivia and Borbera where you can go swimming and the Lake Cristallo where you can go fishing. 6 km far away from the Serravalle Scrivia's Outlet (the largest in Europe with 180 shops), Tassarolo Castel and Libarna Roman Ruins. The acquatic park "Le Bolle Blu" is also very near, less than 10 km. There are also many other pools close to Cassano. The hills of Gavi Ligure are very close where you can go visiting lots of winegrowers for tasting. This area is famous also for white truffles, the same quality that you can find in the most famous Alba.

The house consists of 4 double bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and a large garden.

Ideal for:
- who loves outdoor sports: you can find nearby golf courses, riding school, fishing spots
- who loves cookery holidays: for weekend are available cooking classes with only woman who obtains recognition as "Cavaliere Del Raviolo".

  • It was such a pleasure and a great honor to stay for a couple of days with this family in a house of my dream. We enjoyed every detail, every old picture on the wall and even chocolates in the bathroom. The breakfasts were great! Thank you so much for this, for home-made jam and local cookies! Though the place is not really touristic, it would be a really perfect house to stay for those who drive a car and want to travel Italy without big cities and famous places.
We loved the house so much!
    Thank you!

  • Staying in La Fornace was a great experience. The place itself has so much character and history, a cool stone house with a shady garden. Stefanie, Bernardo's mother, has accommodated us with much care and love, both towards the adults and the children. The information about possible activities was fabulous. We also made quick friendship with Tito, the dog. Breakfast included the famous local "Focaccia Spirata" and there were fresh fruits (sweet local peaches, plums from the garden, tomatoes and basil) as well as, of course, plenty of coffee. The kids loved the toys available in the children's room. The wine country around Gavi is beautiful, and also Genua is not too far away. We can highly recommend this place - thanks Stefania, thanks Bernardo!

  • Bernardo's home is such a lovely house only a quick walk away from Cassano Spinola's town center. The atmosphere is fantastic and Bernardo's family, especially his mom, took good care of us and spoke very good English.

Bernardo was very swift and accurate in his replies to my inquiry and also gave me a list of things to do and which restaurants to visit in the area after the booking. I can definitely recommend staying at La Fornace for anyone who want to experience something else than the busy streets of Milan!
