Interaction with Guests
We are happy to greet you when you arrive and answer any questions you may have during your stay. Our goal is to make you feel welcome and give you all the privacy you need.
Our goats, sheep and chickens love attention as well as the herd protector, Delilah and Jake our Great Pyrenees. Our farm is being developed to become self sustaining so come and enjoy the herd.
We are located 10 minutes from downtown Weaverville, and 25 minutes from downtown Asheville. The parkway is 5 minutes down the road as we are located just above the historical Vance Birthplace. There are two ski resorts within 40 minutes from here which provides access without being in the middle of the often packed accommodations on the slopes. There are many outdoor activities for which these Appalachian Mountains are renown. So if its adventure and exploring you seek, we are right in the middle of it all. If it is a quiet and peaceful recharging you need, we have plenty of that.
Other Things to Note
Cell phone reception is not always reliable.
We do not allow pets, cigarettes, candles or incense in order to minimize allergy issues for us and our guests.
Jerry is very accomodating and the cottage has a nice european feel. The little farm with the goats and chickens just behind the cottage is wonderful. Thank you!
This country cottage is the perfect home-base for any travelers visiting the Asheville area but not wanting to stay in the city. An easy 25 minute drive into Asheville, the cottage also offers easy access to the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway. The farm sits alongside other beautiful properties, all embraced by the foothills of the surrounding mountains. It has a handful of great hikes within 10 minutes driving, and the parkway offers plenty more.
Jerry and Deborah are incredibly tasteful hosts, providing everything you could possibly need. They are kind and respectful, involving themselves in your experience only as much as you require. My boyfriend and I wanted to engage with them and “the herd,” and we cherished the things we learned and the time we spent with Jerry and his animals.
Our five-day stay exceeded any expectations, and we can’t recommend Jerry, Deborah, their farm, and their cottage any higher. Looking forward to staying again someday soon!
We had such an amazing time staying in the cottage! Weaverville is a great location, close to nice restaurants and good hiking trails. Jerry was very friendly and accommodating. We had plenty of privacy, but he was always available when we needed something. It was so much fun to wake up and feed the farm animals. We ate fresh eggs from the farm every morning. I can't imagine a better place to stay! Thanks so much for having us. I know we'll be back.
Jerry and Deb greeted us immediately upon arriving and showed us everything we needed to know. The house was clean, cute and comfy. The kitchen was equipped well so that we could host Thanksgiving dinner for our son who is in college along with some friends. Jerry and Deb were gracious in allowing us these extra guests and seemed happy to see us being able to spend this important time with our son. The goat farm, chickens, dogs and scenery were also a wonderful addition to our experience. We loved Weaverville and the beauty of the mountains surrounding us. Thank you so much Jerry and Deb...what a delightful time we had.
Jerry was a very kind host. The cottage was lovely and we really enjoyed the animals, who were also very friendly. The location was quiet and a short drive away from Asheville. We loved our time at the country cottage and would happily go again.
We arrived at the Country Cottage and were greeted by both Jerry & his wife Deborah. Bobby (my BF) spoke to Jerry while Deborah showed me around. First impression WOW!!! The pace was absolutely everything they promised and then some!! They showed us around the property real quick and we felt right at home.
We were able to find everything that we needed to make all the meals that we had planned. We had a french press for coffee :)
the Bed LUXURIOUS!!! The water pressure in bathroom was wonderful too.
we went out to meet the Dogs, Jake and Delilah. What sweet loving animals. We also got to pet the Goats and watch the chickens walk around all happy. We also got a treat of truly farm fresh eggs!! YUM! We got that along with 2 delicious local brews!! Which we enjoyed while using the grill to make our burgers! having the grill and a picnic table was a great way to enjoy our meals.
All in all we thuly enjoyed our stay at the country cottage and plan to go back again!!!
Thank you Jerry & Deborah for making us feel welcome and for the lovely stay at you cottage. we are telling everyone about you!!
My wife, myself and our 21-month-old son went to the Asheville area for a couple of days to see the sites and visit Biltmore. We were looking for a nice, cozy place and Jerry and Deborah's cottage really fit the bill. There is an electric fireplace, I guess you'd call it, in the main room. It heated up the space pretty quickly, which was nice b/c it got a bit nippy while we were there (as one would expect in the mountains). On the morning we left, we took Sam down to see the animals, and we all really enjoyed that and got some nice pics. This cottage is country simplicity at its best and the price can't be beat.

Hello, my name is Jerry and my wife is Deborah. I am a retired Clinical Nurse Specialist and my wife is still working as a Respiratory Therapist. My current hobby is developing a sustainable goat/lamb farm which is up and running. Deborah speaks German so we would welcome our International guests to enjoy our charming country setting. We love to read, work on the farm, go for motorcycle rides and sometimes just hang out under the arbor Deborah insisted I build for her. So come join us at our castle nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.
