We offer a bedroom with its own private bathroom in a two bedroom and two and half bathroom condominium located in Avon, Colorado. The condo itself is not large (1200 square feet) but cute, clean and comfortable with a spiral staircase, huge windows and a fluffy cat, Roger.
What makes our condo so special is it's location, nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, which caters perfectly to both summer and winter activities. The neighborhood is located between Vail and Beaver Creek ski resort and the condo is a 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop going either direction. Potentially you can ski out of bounds from Beaver Creek down to our house. We are a 5 minute drive from the base of Beaver Creek and the town of Avon, both of which offer ample shopping and restaurant options. We are a 10 minute drive from Vail and everything the ski town has to offer including shopping, movies, ice skating, bowling and numerous restaurants.
For summer-time enthusiasts, our condo sits across the street from the Eagle-Vail Golf club driving ranch and golf course and next to the Eagle-Vail outdoor community swimming pool which, while only open May through August, offers a 25 meter saline lap pool and children's paddle pool. We are also a 15 minute walk to the Eagle River for fly fishing, rafting and kayaking. What makes our place unique is its community which is dedicated to outdoor activities.
Both Beaver Creek and Vail offer plenty of sporting activities as well as various festivals year round including food, dance and music. Hiking, biking, rock climbing and horseback riding are all minutes away from us. My boyfriend, Mike, is a fly fishing guide and I am a photojournalist so both of us have extensive knowledge of our valley and what it has to offer.
There is also a futon downstairs in the living room than can accommodate up to 2 extra guests. Keep in mind this space is not private (it's in the living room).
No smoking. Lock the doors when leaving. Don't let the cat out. Help yourself to anything in the kitchen but replace it when you leave. Keep the place as tidy as you find it. Clean up after yourself. Shoes off at the front door. Make yourself at home and have fun.
Really great experience! Dominique was really friendly, helpful and generous. The room is great. You have everything you can ask for. I will definitely come back when I visit colorado.
Dominique was a perfect host.
She did give us great tips on where to ski and where to park (to avoid expensive parking costs) and we always feeled welcomed.
Appartment is as described and in good condition.
Thank you for a great time!
Dominique was a great host - Everything was great - I really enjoyed the stay in the Vail/Beaver creek region. The accommodation was clean and welcoming. Dominique was also helpful and very friendly.
My husband and I stayed with Dominique and Mike for 17 nights and felt at home from day one. The accommodation is exactly as shown very comfortable and well decorated. The location is central to both Beaver Creek and Vail. Although, I would recommend a car especially if you are skiing.
Dominique and Mike are fantastic hosts, polite, helpful, very easy going and extremely welcoming. Highly recommended, a home away from home.
My boyfriend and I stayed here because he had surgery at the Vail Valley Medical Center. Dominique and Mike's home was comforting, warm, and a great place to recover from surgery. Their cat is super friendly, and the room was as described. We are thankful to have had some creature comforts that a hotel couldn't have offered us.
This was my first experience with AirBnB, so I had some anxiety staying in a stranger's home. However, this was great. Everything was well organized, very clean, well equipped, and the hosts were very congenial. I came skiing by myself and they treated me like a long lost friend. They shared their house, kitchen, food, and invited me to stay for dinner with their friends. The location was midway between Beaver Creek and Vail so it was convenient to ski at either one. I had a car, but the Eagle County bus top is nearby.
My room had a TV, wifi, bathroom with shower, towels, empty closet, and dresser. My room was very clean and tidy.
If you are in the area looking for a place to stay, would definitely recommend staying here.
I am a freelance photographer and bartender. I also shoot video and am a travel writer. I am from New Zealand but fell in love with snowboarding so made my home here in Vail. I love to travel. Whether it is to snowboard in Kashmir or eat in Belgium, I am always looking for a good adventure that involves traveling to new places to meet new people.
