We had a wonderful experience with Marco at his Cortona apartment. It was exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon. It was close to parking and the location was perfect for touring Cortona. He met us around our crazy schedule traveling and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic amazing Italian getaway. This was our favorite stop during our honeymoon tour through Italy.
Marco's father met me at the apartment and gave me a very thorough overview of it. He was a very nice man and it is a gorgeous little apartment! I loved staying there! There was plenty of hot water and the wifi worked pretty well (the signal was strongest just outside of the apartment door). The apartment was stocked with pretty much everything you could need, including laundry soap. The one exception to this was silverware. I didn't cook so that didn't matter to me. The location was excellent, just a short hike up a steep hill to the main plaza of town. I would definitely book this apartment again if/when I return to Cortona!
Marco was very welcoming to the apartment and showed me where everything was. Apartment has everything that you need for a short or longer stay. It was quiet and restful. The apartment is located a few mins walk from the main piazzas of Cortona - and there was parking at the end of the street (although I went on a very busy weekend I still managed it!). I will certainly look to stay there next time I'm in Cortona / surrounding region.
Marco's clean and pretty appartement was situated in the city center of Cortona in a beautyful old building. Me and a my girlfriend had a great time there due to Marco's recommendations. He's a very professional host and we would contact him again as soon as we werde staying in Cortona!!!
The apartment was everything and more than we expected! A lovely little place that stays cool in the summer heat in a building that was apparently constructed in the 13th century - a very unique experience. Very nice decorations - colorful, optimistic and just plain cute. All the necessary amenities to be comfortable but with the high ceilings and old-style infrastructure you get the sense that you are in a castle - very nice.
Central Cortona location - about 50 yards uphill to the main square where you can find restaurants, cafe, small grocery stores and shops. A great starting point to explore the town.
We arrived by train and it is 12 euros for a cab to the town - a short ride away. A bus is also available. Walking would be possible... but not so much fun with luggage I imagine (uphill, heat, not so close).
The only possible downside could be for those that are sensitive to smells. There was a food smell in the kitchen/living room area... perhaps it was temporary... it didn't bother us so we didn't care to inquire. I wouldn't let that dissuade you from choosing this place unless you are really sensitive to smells. No smell in the bedroom at all.
Hi Jon, and thank you for your kind words, about the cooking area we haven't got any problem with the kitchen smells since we rent before; this could be due because the guest before you had an intense use of the kitchen... There are not other reasons. We are sorry about this.
Enjoyed our stay in beautiful Cortona.
Marco's apartment was just as described
Wonderful location close to the best restaurants in town.
Marco is a perfect host always available to tend to concerns but is never intrusive
He is perfectly fluent in English
Apartment had everything we needed
We look forward to a return visit in this charming apartment....with bonus of 2 bathrooms!
Marco was very accommodating, the apartment was perfectly located and as described. A word to the wise: this space reflects its locale, meaning it's rustic and quaint and evocative but not luxurious. The building is awesomely old.
