We stay in Airbnb's for work all the time. We booked Joakim's airbnb for a few of the guys working out of the SF office for a week. They absolutely fell in love with the house! The house was beautiful and comfortably fit 3. Here's Brad's review in his own words"
We met the owner of the Airbnb, Joakim, last night checking out. He was such a pleasant person and lives in the flat upstairs, which is great to know he's accessible if needed, but totally hands off at the same time and made us feel like the house was ours.
The location was fantastic and in a great neighborhood. It's tough to find 3BR places in SF and would recommend for all our future sprints!
This was a great experience. Joakim was very gracious and helpful. The apartment was perfect for us, and the Hayes Valley area has a fantastic hip vibe. We'll definitely be back.
We found this to be a dream rental (as did many other reviewers), a place which we very, very much hope to have the opportunity to rent again. As others mention, it's gorgeous, exquisitely decorated (but decorated in such a way that the flat is functional, not a museum). Moreover, the place is surprisingly large (indeed, each room is larger than it appears in the photos, substantially larger, so much so that we were very much startled upon first arriving). Yes, the flat is on the ground floor, but the bedrooms are set waaaaay back, so even in the foremost bedroom, no traffic sounds are noticed. (And at the back of the flat, where lies the main living area (kitchen + dining area + sunroom), well, you'd never think this place was in a city.)
We were there as a generational family, with me and my wife (both approximately 60 years old), my son (about 30), and my mother (almost 90!). Frankly, if cramped into two hotel rooms for the week we were in SF to attend the wedding festivities of my niece, I doubt we'd be on speaking terms even now, two weeks later. But when the need to escape from one another became critical, the size of the place (and the serenity provided by each individual room) were lifesaving (or perhaps I should say, family-saving).
What would we change? Well, the bath towels are much too large (too heavy), and the mattress in the bedroom closest to the kitchen certainly could be firmer. But, hey, these are trivial gripes compared to the overall well-being we experienced in being there.
Each of us agrees this place deserves 5 stars in every category. I must confess, however, we are slightly reluctant to reveal these feelings, simply because too many stellar reviews will price the flat beyond our means. (Joakim: Please do keep us in mind! ;-) )
So, in short: Fantastic rental! We envy you being there.
Joakim was a wonderful host--responsive, attentive, and hospitable. The loft was comfortable, classy, and quaint. The neighborhood was great as well. Highly recommended.
Very welcoming hosts. Lovely apartment with plenty of space for 3 chaps travelling on work - we never felt that we were living on top of one another. Very convenient location.
Joakim and Jamie were wonderful. The house was more than described. We were invited to participate in their home in every way, including sitting with them in the beautiful garden, having wine (with a bottle eft for us by Joakim!), and playing with their wonderful pets. The neighborhood is great: many restaurants and shops, lovely homes, safe, and interesting.
