Hilly and Dan have a wonderfully unique home that is both comfortable and interesting. They were both very welcoming hosts and our family enjoyed our stay very much. We would highly recommend it and will definitely return in the future.

I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Hilly and Dan gave us such a warm welcome before showing us into their unique property which we found to perfect for our weekend away! The beds were comfy and the breakfast items that Hilly and Dan had left for us were much appreciated. The property is situated in a very beautiful area, we spent time exploring both Hebden Bridge and Halifax (the Piece Hall is a must!). We cannot wait to return to this very special 'home away from home' in the future!

This is a wonderful apartment, very well equipped with an extremely comfortable bed. We loved the well thought out design of the converted barn. Hilly and Dan are lovely, welcoming hosts. Highly recommended.

This is a really well set up apartment and was very comfortable for our weekend stay. The location is in a quiet village (just what we wanted) with easy access by car to Halifax and Hebden Bridge (15 mins to each). Hilly and her husband were excellent hosts and even offered us a pickup from the village pub so my pregnant fiancé wouldn't have to navigate the hill on the way home! Overall it was perfect for what we wanted and I'd happily stay there again, hopefully for longer.

What a wonderful decision to stay here! I was choosing between a few properties, but the reviews were outstanding and lived up to expectations! In fact, the apartment itself is much bigger than I expected, and Hilly was kind enough to cook us an incredible dinner the first night which we enjoyed with her and her husband Dan and a couple of their friends. (bonus: for those interested she knows halal meet well). The area around the house is really beautiful and great hikes all around.

What a wonderful stay! Hilly was very welcoming. The apartment was very comfortable and clean with lots of little interesting features. Great view of the pond, lovely artwork! The apartment was very well equipped great for self catering. I would Recommend the lovely community shop 5 minutes away. Perfect for couples or families, we stayed with 2 small children and we had everything we needed. My 3 year old didn't want to leave! Hilly let us use their washing machine and dryer which with 2 small children was a real bonus! Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. Thank you Hilly

I am an artist/photographer/designer/cook and mother living in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. I make work using a variety of media – lens, print, paint, ink, charcoal and even food . . . depending on circumstance, brief or mood!
I absolutely love to cook good food for my friends and spend the evenings eating, drinking and discovering what makes the world go around , but most importantly..... I am a compulsive collector of earrings!

Originally from London, I married a Yorkshireman in 1994, moved up North, and found myself in a whole new world - new friends - new landscape - new influences - new ideas, and then..... two children! My creative energies suddenly became channeled into homemaking - designing and restoring a huge derelict barn as well as working and bringing up a family! What a joy - what a leveller - what an influence!
Oats Royd Barn, now a creative 'hotbed' for friends and family, has become the perfect place for artistic pursuits of all descriptions whether it be art workshops, musical evenings or gastronomic extravaganzas! It is such a huge and special place it just has to be shared!

My husband, Dan works from the barn as a graphic designer and our two teenagers, Annie and Tom, are just fabulous!
The barn is also home to a small collection of old cars (mostly citroens) the pride and joy at the moment being a 1968 Citroen DS.
