  • Charlotte has created a thoughtfully decorated and cosy hideaway amongst the birds and trees. A lovely hostess who is helpful, unobtrusive, and accommodating.

    Thank you Kim !

  • Charlotte's studio is one of my favourite places I have stayed in through Airbnb. It is full of character, flooded with natural light and very comfortable. Thank you Charlotte, I hope to come again soon :)

    Response from Charlotte:

Thank you Anna--would be very nice if you and Karlo come back sometimes--
and thanks again for fixing the light !!!

  • The bungalow was lovely and although we didn't get a chance to meet Charlotte in person, she was very friendly and accommodating. We had a very relaxing weekend and enjoyed staying at the bungalow immensely. Laying back in that enormous bath after a day of wandering and penguin watching was divine.

  • It was comfortable and charming, all that the pictures promised. As for the location, it was quiet and close to the beach, with some lovely walks, including up to Woolamai Hill that I did one afternoon, encountering an echidna in the dunes and wallabies further up the hill.

    Thank you Collin !

  • Charlotte's little bush garden bungalow was lovely and came with everything we needed. My partner and I stayed there for three nights. Charlotte went above and beyond offer advice on where to go and what to do (through notes), not to mention some fresh tomatoes from her garden. That said, she gave us plenty of space and privacy – the bungalow has it's own private garden, separate from the main house. It was a wonderful place to sit and watch the native birds splashing around in the birdbaths Charlotte has placed in amongst the trees and shrub. It felt like a little piece of paradise. The bath tub for two is amazing! A great way to relax. We where there in summer, but with the little fireplace, I think it would be a great winter get away.

Thank you for the review Jonathon !
You were lovely guests and I'll have you back anytime!
Winter is great here and the wood fire makes it cosy after a refreshing walk along the stunning coast --I might see you and Sommer then ! Best,
[ thanks also for zucchini from your garden--cooking together with my tomatoes as I am writing this! ]

  • I had a great stay in Charlotte's studio. The studio is amazingly beautiful and Cape Woolamai stunning! Charlotte is a piece of art herself.

A very fine young woman from Finnland,Irina came alone by bus to the island--
we had a memorable walk along the beach together including rock-hopping
and drove around together visiting Koalas and penguins--
I felt privileged to be her tour-guide which I had never done before with my bungalow guest[s].It was really a great experience for us--I must thank her
for this and wish her all the best ! She left me a lovely card and a bottle of (website hidden) sweet.--All the best to her,Charlotte

  • Charlotte's artist's bungalow was everything we hoped it would be. If the other reviews have grabbed your attention, make a booking - you won't be disappointed! Charlotte was lovely in person and very accommodating to all our needs. Thanks again Charlotte.

Thank you Paul ,so glad you had a good time and recuperated after the heatwave!!

  • We had a lovely stay at Charlotte's studio. It was a beautiful bungalow we thought perfect for a couple. The wood fire made it feel very cosy and we did in fact wake up to light sounds of the ocean!! Excellent walks close by. Have already recommended to friends. I don't think it will be the last time we stay here!

Thanks Johnny ! Will be lovely to see you and Kath again !

  • Charlotte was such a lovely host. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet but she was so helpful and easy to communicate with. We have such a spectacular stay in the retreat. We felt just at home amongst the trees with all the interesting books, a wonderful fire and candles. It was a really memorable weekend and we hope we can return when we next want to recharge our batteries.

    Response from Charlotte:

Thank you Juli and I hope you'll return sometimes for "recharge of batteries"
and I'll meet you in person -

  • Charlotte was a lovely host that left some helpful notes to the area. I love the fireplace and bath looking out onto the lush garden. It was delightful to see the birds bathing in the bird bath in the morning. Love that there's no tv, though hubby thought differently!

I am an artist from Vienna,Austria and have become a semi-recluse on this beautiful Cape on Phillip Island,Australia-. I observe the wildlife from my "bird-tower-house" overlooking the Nature Reserve. I do my artworks, read, listen to the wind , the sound of the ocean or music and walk with my hilarious little white dog along the awesome Woolamai-Ocean beach or tranquil Safety beach. Renting my Studio turned out [ to my surprise ] a joy rather than a chore-- My guests have private, secluded accommodation with no intrusions from anyone-- [ ti-tree-fence around their bush garden including 2 blue tongue lizards and an echidna in residence] but some guests have been coming back for years now and have become friends and we enjoy a glass of Prosecco together and a laugh before their departure.--
