A cleaning staff comes in daily to tidy up, make beds and bring fresh towels.
Staying with Putu and Zanzan is more than just renting a place to sleep, it's an unique experience and I would very much recommend it.
The cottage looks just like the pictures, it's small but it has everything you need.
The all in package includes 3 home cooked meals a day. The food is (unless requested otherwise) vegetarian, and it is great! There's always a lot to choose from and it's all very tasty.
The package also includes amazing walks and such in nature. The latter is amazing in this part of Bali. Rice field sunset walks, waterfall hikes and swimming, dolphin spotting, offer making, coconuts freshly cut from the tree to drink right there and then, it's all included.
On a side note: the dolphin spotting, I would not recommend it.
I felt sorry for the dolphins all the way through it, whenever they come up, all boats with all tourists speed towards them to catch a glimpse.
What I loved about this stay at the bamboo cottage, is that it's all very easy going. You can do as much or as little as you feel like.
It was great that Zanzan joined us (and by us I mean, us and the other guests staying there who wanted to do the same activities) on most activities, it's really great to have an expert on the area with you.
There is very much a group feeling there, so if you're seeking solitude in nature this might not be it (in high season in particular), but otherwise it's great.
1. if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs!
There's all kind of nature surrounding you, so a lot of sounds you need to get used to, ear plugs make it much easier if you sleep light.
2. Get a massag (or two ;)
The lady who does the massages is great. It was the best massage I had in our 2 week stay on Bali.
Zanzan and Putu are both very positive people, engaged in their community and trying to make a difference. They are an inspiration.
Beautifull place hidden in a remote village with warm people surrounded.
If you're looking for a village and community experience you'll adore the place! Those who want a little more privacy maybe won't find it, but you get a lot of care and warmth of the hosts instead!

Hello, my husband Zanzan and I are passionate about connecting friends and guests from all around the world with the beauty and potential that our rural Balinese village has to offer. After working in the hospitality business for many years (i.e. The Ritz-Carlton, Hilton, Arma Group and Fivelements), Zanzan now devotes his time to his hometown Sudaji in Northern Bali. Organic farming, more effective trash removal systems, the many benefits of yoga meditation, and the importance of the English language to our youth are among the numerous projects that he is invloved in.
As native Balinese, we love welcoming new friends into our home and doing whatever we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
