Come stay at The Haight Ashbury Experience!
The location of this house is very good. Haight Street is a fantastic place and there are a lot of buses to reach the main parts of the city.
The room is very small so it's better for short stays. The bed is pretty comfortable.
There is no communal room (kitchen or something else) where we can meet the roommates. It's a pity.
Josh was very good and prompt with communicating over email. Nearly all was clear form his introductory email, which contained good tips on travel from airport to the house. Room 5 is a tiny room, but perfect for my needs. I would stay there again. It was a good base for exploring the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is about 20-30 min away by bus from the Market Street, so its not right downtown, but with good bus and trolly system - its not a problem. A lot of piercing and tatoo places on the nearby Haight steet. Good breakfast cafe on Oak/Broderick - 10 min walk away. I felt safe in the evening, though I was trying to be back in by 10 PM. Overall, I enjoyed the stay.
I stayed here for three nights. The bedroom was small, as advertised, clean and tidy. The bathroom was clean too, and I didn't have any problems. The location of the house is great, not only because of the history and vibe of the neighborhood but because it's central and there are coffee shops and a great market near by.
I had a great time at the Haight Ashbury experience. It is in a great location close to the main strip mall, transport and close to Golden Gate Park. The room was neat and tidy with easy access. Josh was really nice to deal with and replied to queries quickly.
A small room with basic facilities but cheap at the price and in a very convenient area of San Fransisco. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.
Lovely house, great location.
This simple, tiny room is a great place to stay. Close to many sights and access to good public transport. The home feels safe and has character. I didn't meet josh but he was very quick to respond to my queries, and helpful. The only thing I missed was the ability just to make a coffee in the morning - there is AWESOME coffee just up the road, but getting there sans brew was hard with jet lag (;. Good value for money. Thanks Josh (:
It was really nice to be such close to the haight street and all the awesome small businesses there. It. was exactly what I needed. A bed and a shower in an interesting part of the city. Thanks Josh
I know that staying in San Francisco is pretty expensive. The transaction was quick which is very appreciated for a last minute organized trip, and Josh was quick on replying (in fact, I've never seen him, but he sent to me a few tips about SF and directions to his location, so I presume he's virtually very helpful) . The room I got was actually very tiny with nothing else but a single bed. It was very clean. Windows need curtains and shared bathroom may need few ajustments thought. The area is a bit far from downtown, full of bars, close to GG park (and a bicyles rent) and only few bus stops from Castro (taxi is about 8$ for night owls).
I really liked staying at Josh's house on Clayton. It is just a few blocks away from the historic Haight-Ashbury intersection and the area is chock full of interesting shops, cafes, and restaurants. Not to mention there are some great parks nearby. Public transit (bus) was easy and it is not infeasible to walk to the house from the Market area as well if you are motivated (it takes about an hour).
The house was clean and everyone else staying there was courteous. The process of getting there and into the room was really smooth, as the house has keycode-based locks so there's no awkward fiddling with keys or calling. Would stay again.
