E Komo Mai. Feel the breeze in a tropical setting! Beautiful room surrounded by foliage.
Located minutes away from Turtle beach, short drive to Kahalu'u beach park, Magic Sands and Keauhou Shopping Center. Short walk to scenic Walua Trail (biking, running or walking)
Relax , enjoy the sunset maybe even the Green Flash...on large lanai where gourmet catered dinners can be arranged. Mahalo for looking and A Hui Ho!
I stayed at Marthe and George's for 7 days and it was truly a blissful and relaxing experience. Although they were visiting on the mainland, their friend Aaron was running the Bnb and it was perfect to have some company and make a new friend on my travels. The room is magic: open and screened walls let in fresh air and the fan keeps a breeze in the room so I didn't get too warm at night. It feels like you're in tree house, but I didn't any problems with privacy (there are shades on all the walls) or bugs- only thing you'll see on their porch are geckos, which is a sign of good luck :) It was also very convenient to have access to the kitchen and be so close to the beach I could get a good run in down Alii drive. A car or moped is most convenient since the main little strip of shops and restaurants are about a 40 minute walk. Overall I felt comfortable and right at home and am very pleased with my stay at Marthe and George's. Mahalo to you both and especially Aaron!
our stay at marthe's house was great. the room and house is very nice and clean and the ocean view is amazing! thanks a lot that we could stay at your place!
The description for this room couldn´t be more precise. The sunset over the ocean out of the room is incredible. It was our best stay during our trip. Is there any more to say? Yes it is, we hope we can stay there next time again. Better then any 5 star hotel.
Marthe and George were wonderful hosts and very helpful. Their place is so lovely in a very quiet neighborhood and close to everything. They offered us fresh coffee every morning, lend us a cooler, beach chairs, binocular even sunscreen!!
We felt very welcomed and we would recommend Marthe and George place to everyone going to Kona!
Our final week on the beautiful Kona Coast was staying within the home of a lovely and generous couple, Marty and George, who hosted us through Airbnb. Nestled in a neighborhood near beaches, restaurants and shops, my cousin and I knew instantly that our stay was going to wonderful. Our upstairs “tree house” room was screened in allowing the cool evening air as well as the sounds of songbirds and a frog or two. With a good nights sleep, we woke to complimentary fresh brewed Kona coffee with an open invitation to enjoy their spacious lanai. Knowing our personal belongings were safe, we happily borrowed their beach chairs, towels, snorkel and fins and ice chest as we headed out for a full day of fun.
Although we were out many evenings for dining, it was a great advantage to be able to use their kitchen and prepare our breakfast and pack lunches for our road trips. Before our week ended, we were fortunate to share a BBQ dinner with our hosts as well as a drink to celebrate George’s birthday. This couple keeps a busy and full lifestyle and yet they provided plenty of time to make us comfortable, provide lots of local information and share a bit about their life too. We left feeling connected and friends.
Without a doubt, they would be the kind of folks who would extend themselves to who ever was fortunate enough to book lodging within their lovely home. Aloha!
Marthe and George are great hosts; Very gracious and accommodating. Great spot, beautiful views and a nice place to stay.
Marthe and George were wonderful hosts and the room was great. Marthe met us with a warm welcome at our late arrival (11:30 pm). The following morning George greeted us with a fresh pot of coffee (which was there every morning). They were full of suggestions for activities and good conversation with some lovely personal touches including a lei for my girlfriend on her birthday, booking us reservations at an exceptional sushi restaurant (also on her birthday), and a couple chocolate treats waiting for us in our room on a volcanic rock tray after a day of adventuring. They also have snorkel gear, a couple beach chairs and a cooler among other items for use. They have much knowledge of the island and a lot of experience in the hospitality business, which is very evident. The room itself is a screened in porch where I listened to the waves (about a mile away) crash against the shore, the tree frogs sing, and the leaves in the palms rustle as I was falling asleep. The room was just off a large balcony with a great view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. We had access to their full kitchen which we utilized for breakfasts, since we ate picnic lunches and restaurant dinners. It was a very relaxed and homey atmosphere that we enjoyed greatly.
Marthe and George are very special people. They make you feel so welcome and are so generous with their time and resources. They also made wonderful suggestions for sightseeing and dining. We are especially grateful to them for taking us in a second time on extremely short notice when we had difficulties with our accommodations elsewhere.
We immediately felt at home thanks to Marthe and his husband. They gave us great advice to discover the area.
The lovely room has 2 very comfortable beds and a wonderful view on the sea.
We would be happy to come back to their house if we have the chance to go back to Kona.
Lovely room in a great location with very hospitable hosts. We had a great time here and highly recommend it. George and Marthe made us feel most welcome. Added perks we loved were fresh coffee in the mornings and borrowing their beach gear (boogieboards, unbrella, chairs and beach towels). Excellent location too: very close to the famous Ali'i drive and yummy Poke at Da Poke Shack.
