The Space

This is a great apartment to call home base during your extended trip to Portland. The location is stellar in what we consider the best neighborhood of the city. A hotbed of places worth visiting within walking distance. Other destination areas such as Downtown, The Pearl District, and Hawthorne all within minutes.
This space is ideal for one or two as it has only one queen bed though another could be welcome on the couch. No more then four at a time please.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the washer/dryer in the basement (shared w upstairs tenant), full kitchen with stocked appliances and dishwasher, wifi, and fenced back deck/patio.

Interaction with Guests

We travel/live elsewhere and all communication with us will happen via email/phone. Renee is the permanent tenant in the upstairs apartment. There is a shared hallway and private entrances to each apartment.

I'm happy to help long-distance in any way possible and Renee is available as well should any problems arise.

The Neighborhood

I've lived all over the city and believe this to be the best neighborhood. Its a central location, two blocks to Whole Foods, and a multitude of other restaurants, and coffee shops.
To eat - Bamboo Sushi, Kens Pizza, Paadee, Navarre, Laurelhurst Market, and Pambiche are my immediate favorites. For inexpensive bites head to the food carts on 28th or a sandwich at Meat Cheese Bread. Coffee and bakery best found at Crema.
Head up to Laurelhurst Park for a stroll or catch a movie at Laurelhurst theater - $4 tickets and beer!
More then happy to give any other recommendations per request, from shopping to haircuts etc, I've done everything there could possible be to do within a two mile radius of this house and its an extensive list.

Getting around

The number 20 bus runs up and down Burnside ave every twenty minutes. Goes right over the Burnside bridge to take you Downtown or Pearl District or transfer you other buses. Close to the MAX lines and street car also.

House is about twenty minutes from the Portland airport.

Free parking on street

Other Things to Note

For longer stay guests note that garbage is picked up every other week (like this all over Portland) while recycling/compost/yard waste is every week. Please do your best to recycle when possible.

  • I can't say enough good things about Cora and her perfectly situated flat. The decor is lovely, the neighborhood centrally located and full of retro charm. Easy walks to gorgeous Laurelhurst Park, theater three blocks away, beautiful shops and side streets to make your stay extra special. Oh and Portland. No place like it! Cora was super communicative which is so helpful. Thanks, Cora...we'll be back.

  • Cora's place was exactly what we needed. Great location, uniquely artsy decor, all the basics in a comfy spot. I'd absolutely stay there again!

  • Cora's place was nice and cozy and in an excellent location. Definitely a nice atmosphere if you dig mid-century furniture and film books.

Be warned, if you're not a pet person, this apartment can have some pet fuzz hiding here and there. So keep that in mind going in :)

Cora was out of town at the time we stayed, but she was flexible and easy to work with nonetheless. A very nice and amicable person.

  • Cora was a very wonderful and accommodating hostess. The place was very clean and in a great up and coming neighborhood. We had wonderful wood fired pizza just a block away as well as great Portland coffee shops within a morning slumber walking distance away. The location is close to bus line and easy to navigate to. We had a great stay. Give it a try

  • Lovely place!

  • My wife and I stayed at Cora and Dave's place for a month and we had a great time. The apartment is a great size for a couple and had everything we needed for our stay. The back deck was great to relax on and inside the furniture was all comfortable. The neighborhood is absolutely awesome. I can't imagine a better place to be if you're in Portland. Walking distance to amazing restaurants, Laurelhurst Theater, and Laurelhurst Park. And it was quiet every night. What more could you ask for?

  • We could not have asked for a better place to stay, nor for a nicer host! Cora was incredibly sweet and easy to communicate with; she made her home feel like ours for the four days we were in Portland. Her house was clean, cozy, very stylish and perfectly located in SE Portland. Extra bonus points for having the best shower ever (I think we can all agree this is important when travelling). I highly recommend Cora and her lovely house.
