The Space

Hello travelers,

welcome to my apartment! I am renting out the larger of the two bedrooms in my two bedroom apartment to those who wish to feel like they're in their home away from home. The room is approximately 10'x13' with two very large windows that face the west. There is a queen size bed with fresh bedding and cozy pillows. The apartment has cable and internet and a good sized kitchen to cook in. The best amenity of all--and one of the aspects of the apartment that has kept me in it year after year-- is the washer and dryer in unit, so for those with longer stays you don't have to worry about packing too many items of clothing. The apartment is very quiet unless it's soccer season then you might hear one of the neighbors in another building yelling "Goooolllll!" It's amusing, really. The neighborhood has some really great restaurants including Mexican, Puerto Rican, Chinese, burger joint, and steak house. We also have three supermarkets in a short radius if you prefer home cooked meals. The subway is five blocks away and can put you into the Union Sq area in about 25 minutes; Times Sq in 30; Herald Sq in 35-40; and the Financial District in 45. I've been living in NYC for almost 6 years and love it here. I've made it a point to discover as much of the city as possible, and would love to share that information with those wishing to get to know this wonderful city a little better. You can check out the guidebook I've created by clicking the icon on the top right corner. I try to update it with new things I (website hidden)
I just wanted to let those who are interested in renting from me that I don't accept reservations more than 5 months in advance. I'm a freelancer and my job is constantly changing so it's hard for me to plan something more than 5 months into the future.

Very quiet neighborhood, we slept like babies!
It takes about 30 minutes from the apartment to get to central Manhattan.

  • The room offered by Cristina is really comfortable. The room is big, warm and quiet. The apartment has all facilities and is very well located, specially if you like Central Park or you have to go to Columbia University. Moreover Cristina affords you your own keys and you are free to go and come.

Cristina is a very good host and even we could not talk much as we went during working days and we had so many plans I found Cristina a really interesting person.

I strongly recommend your stay in New York at Cristina´s place.

  • We had a great time at Christina's house.. it is close to a subway Station (which brings you to Midtown in a few minutes), to grocery stores, Central Park, ... and it's quiet at night. The bed was comfortable and we had our own shelf in the fridge to store our stuff :-)

  • My girlfriend and I had a great stay with Cristina, the apartment was lovely, clean and exactly as described. The location was easy to find and very safe, lots of coffee shops around and close to the subway, getting into time square and other tourist spots was easy.

  • Me and my girlfriend stayed together at Cristina's place. It was exactly like she states it in the description. So if you decide to stay there there aren't any surprises. Cristina was a lovely host who provided tips for us what we have to visit. Her knowledge about food places is outstanding. She was always there for us if we needed something. All in all I can only recommend her highly because we loved our trip to NYC and Cristina's place as well!

I am a freelancer who normally works in television production but have recently been working in New York City government. My hours tend to be very long so I'm not home as much as I would like to be. I am respectful of the people who stay with me and allow them their own space. That being said, I encourage guests to ask me any questions about the city and come to me for suggestions on what to see and do. Fun fact that has nothing to do with anything: I have a few vices in this world and they include Oreos, salt and vinegar chips, Newman's Own popcorn, and Pellegrino limonata.
