I have nothing but good things to say about Eileen and her wonderful place. Eileen was responsive throughout the process. Checking in was a breeze. The few questions I had (things like where the washer/dryer were, how to handle recycling) were answered quickly. The home itself was clean and ready when we checked in, despite a group having checked out only that morning. Everything was in accordance with the listing description and photos. The house was in a pleasant neighborhood with good access to groceries (including Trader Joes!), movie theaters, restaurants, etc. It was in all ways a perfect place for us and when travels take us back to the area, Eileen's place will be the first place we try to stay at.
This house was great, very spacious and well equipped. Eileen was easy to communicate with and got back to us right away. I would certainly stay here again when I am in town.
What a great house! Hopefully we didn't bother the downstairs neighbors too much when we blocked the driveway. There are two very large rooms with sofas, and there are several nice bedrooms. It's clean, new, and very pretty. The pool area is awesome, and we could watch the Women's World Cup on Eileen's big TV.
Eileen's home is beautiful! We were all very comfortable. My sister and I had a lovely time with our children. It was nice to have two living rooms for separate conversations. Thank you for sharing your space! We would definitely come back again.
The house was beautiful, very large and bright. The accommodations were great. It easily accommodates 6-8 sleeping and gatherings.
The location was perfect for us, a few blocks to downtown San Carlos with lots of cafes and restaurants, three blocks from Trader Joe's and about a mile from CalTrain. We spent time in San Francisco, and the neighboring towns. If we couldn't walk we UBER, that was very reasonable too. When our travels take us to northern California I would definitely stay at this house again. I will be happy to be a reference if Ireen needs one.
About the Host, Eileen
We are San Francisco natives who moved to the peninsula in 1980 - when Silicon Valley began to boom. My husband and I were both fortunate to find great jobs - and buy some real estate along the way. We discovered San Carlos and joked that it was much like Mayberry RFD. We've loved living here for over 30 years. We raised 3 kids here and are now grandparents. We enjoy spending time with our kids. In an attempt to keep them close by, we will try and turn this rare old home over to them (along with all the work it entails). Fortunately, it's big enough to be two independent units. Your visit will help us pay our mortgage and outrageous property taxes. Thank you! If all goes well, maybe someday we can retire and travel too? I look forward to meeting you. If you come from somewhere warm and would like to trade vacation time in the future, make sure you let me know.
