SAN LORENZO is small like a village but next to the Campus of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (largest one in Europe), it's loved by Romans as one of the most popular places in the city with all its restaurants, pizzerias, internet cafes, little foots hops, coffees hops, wine bars, its open market, inhabited by young families, students and very Roman peoples.
As I’m living in the same area I can always help you and give any suggestion or advices you need.
If you like walking, you can reach Termini train and subway station which services to Fiumicino airport and all tourist spots in the city in only 15 minutes’ walk, the Basilica of San Lorenzo (one of the four most ancient basilicas in Rome) in 10 minutes’ walk and the Colosseum in a very comfortable 30 minutes’ walk. But you can also take the tram 3, which is just few steps away from the apartment, to go to Basilica of San Giovanni, Colosseum, Fori Imperiali, Circo Massimo. Or take the nearest subway station Piazza Vittorio with 5 minutes’ walk to go to Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, the Vatican City and all the main attractions of the Eternal City.

Great flat, great neighbourhood with amazingly cheap and excellent restaurants and bars. Anke was very helpful and pointed us to a lot of good places in the area.
A very positive experience and I would repeat it for sure!
We didn't meet anke but her husband helped us for the check in. The flat is very big with everything equipped. It is however a long walk from termini station, we have to walk 15-20 min everyday to have transportation.
Anke has a very nice house, cozy and comfortable, just as seen in the pictures and it is fully equipped with everything you might need. There are many great restaurants close by, where one can enjoy much better food than at other places in the historic (touristic) centre of the city, and at very reasonable prices. Getting to the centre however is very easy, as there is a bus line that serves the area, close to the house and frequent enough (about every 10 minutes). Anke was very helpful providing all the information needed, easy to communicate with and very welcoming.
All in all, a great place to stay and a lovey host!

About the Host, Anke
I was born and grew up in East-Berlin. After studying, working and traveling in different countries and continents I moved to Rome, Italy in 2000.
Now, after all those years, I almost feel like Roman. I love Rome and Italy a lot which can in no small part be attributed to one of the greatest gifts of the Italians: their hospitality. And that’s what I would like you to experience while staying at "ankecasa":
I would like to welcome you and to make your stay comfortable at the place where me and my family spent precious time: where I started my exploration of the Eternal City, where we saw our children grow and last but not least where we welcomed friends and people from all over the world.
We had to change place. But I’m happy to still accommodate guests in our original home!
