Claudia and Kevin went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome in their private bedroom. Though I was a bit wary coming in (I hadn't done a private room in a shared flat before), I left so thrilled with my experience. Very helpful and knowledgable in tips for what to do throughout and around Dublin and even showed us around some local pubs :). Would absolutely recommend staying with them if you're looking for a fun and great place to spend a few nights.
This was one of the cleanest places I've stayed in with airbnb. I'm allergic to cats but they kept the place so clean that theirs really didn't bother me at all. The room was very comfortable and the location down the street from the Guinness Storehouse was wonderful. We had some problems with the hot water but take fast showers and everything will be fine. Wonderful place and wonderful hosts.
We spent 5 days at Claudia and Kevins place and had a really good time. Both were very kind and helpful and gave us great recommendations for trips, places to eat and other things to do.
The apartment is clean, comfortable and close to the city centre.
At least we are very thankful for the loving hospitality and would recommend without hesitation!
It was a nice days in Claudia and Kevin apartment. They are really nice and helpful.
The apartment is clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. Also a comfortable bed and room.
The apartment is located in a really good and calm place. Near to the city center and from my office. It's also well comunicated if you have to go far from here.
I would come back without a doubt
Claudia's place is absolutely perfect for me to stay during my time in Dublin. The location is great as it was very close to the tram, I could get around very easily. Claudia was also very helpful with direction and showed me how to get to places I wanted to go. The room was lovely and warm, I also love a shower at Claudia place : ) Thanks a lot for being such a great host, and I would love to stay with you again next time I go to Dublin.
Claudia and Kevin added a whole dimension to Dublin for which I'm most grateful. The apt is very clean, no problems of any kind - the stay worked out great .
It was easy to find, it was easy to use - it is very near the Luas tram which is most helpful for getting around Dublin - allowing you to save your feet for sight seeing/museums/pubs in other areas of Dublin.
and I was able to walk to the train/bus stop to catch the 747 bus back to the airport for an early flight - perfect.
it all adds up to a great value and stay - friendly helpful hosts that both respect your privacy, but are helpful in guiding and answering questions. the location worked out very well. A very clean room in a very nice well located apt - I got exactly what I wanted.
cheers to Claudia and Kevin and thanks for making Dublin special!.
We stayed for two nights over a weekend in October, and we had a wonderful time in Dublin with Claudia and her husband Kevin. The place is clean and quiet. Though they have a cat and smoke, the flat does not even faintly smell like any of those (and trust me, I'm quite sensitive to this!) because the cat is just adorable and clean and they smoke only on the balcony. Sharing the bathroom was absolutely no problem since Claudia got up early. We had hot water when we needed it, no problems here, as someone reported earlier.
The house is located in a quite but convenient area of Dublin that is close to a LUAS station and in good walking distance to the hot spots downtown. The neighbourhood has a faint, mouthwatering smell of malt and barley because it's close to the Guinness brewery! The room is quiet as well and perfectly suitable for a couple.
Finally, Claudia and Kevin were extremely welcoming hosts and not only provided us with a "Dublin-starter-kit" (maps and tourist guides) but even took us out to visit their favourite bars and places and were always helpful with info about Dublin sights and Irish habits (like rugby).
We will hopefully have the chance to visit them again.
If you want to get a clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay. Claudia's place is ideal for you. The area has easy access to the city, and the apartment is quite clean.
HOWEVER, if you want a hot shower, step away. The hot water only supply in the morning. When I was taking shower, the hot water suddenly stop, but I have soap on my body and hair, so I have to clean the soap with cold water. You know how cold the weather is in October, right? This happened on the afternoon when we arrive. I was a bit unhappy, but this did not matter much, although I think we should have been informed this earlier when the host told us the cleaning rules after taking shower. The morning when we leave, I took a shower again. I guess there should be hot water in the morning. However, I was end up with cold water again!!!!!!!!! Although the host boiled the water and I waited for 50 min to clean the soap, and they explain this might be the problem of the boiler, I still felt quite annoying. We stayed here for 2 nights three days, and I took shower twice, and both shower end up with cold water!!!!!! So the chance of taking shower with hot water is 0%.
We are very sorry about the problem with our boiler. The issue has since been fixed (only a small portion of the water was actually being heated), and we would like to unreservedly apologise to Yuan and her friend. While it does, of course, not change the discomfort experienced by these guests, we would like to point out that it was only Yuan's unlucky friend who had to endure the water going cold on her (twice), and that Yuan herself did indeed have hot showers. We usually heat the immersion in the mornings, and that has so far always been enough for our guests and ourselves.
The location was close to The Guinness factory which was convenient. My husband and I only used the place as a place to crash while traveling. It was not easy to feel comfortable and was reminded to keep quiet during the late hours. My husband and I are not loud people and any noise was due to the architecture of the building. Towards the end of our stay we felt the hospitality that we hoped for in the beginning. Having used airbnb numerous times this experience stuck out as the most unwelcoming.
My girlfriend & I travelled to Ireland for a wedding in Killarney. We wanted to explore as much as Dublin as possible with the rest of our time, and we were first-time users of Air BnB.
Claudia & Kevin were amazing hosts. They were always quick with correspondence and answered all of our questions. Their tips for traveling and personalized guidebook were very helpful.
On our first day in Dublin, they met us at the tram station and walked us to the apartment. After checking in, they took time to walk with us into downtown and shared some wonderful recommendations. We had a great afternoon enjoying Flight Fest and spending time getting to know them and some of their friends.
The apartment was very clean and cozy. We were given clean towels and linens. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was also very clean and the mini-heater was heaven on chilly Ireland mornings. It was nice to have a "home away from home" atmosphere.
The apartment is within walking distance to downtown Dublin (and very close to the tram stop). Also, the area is well lit at night and we always felt safe.
Overall, we would definitely recommend Claudia & Kevin as hosts. They were very friendly and had a great sense of humor. Also, you can tell they love the city they live in and they are very knowledgable of Irish history. They really have a passion for making sure visitors have the best possible experience.
