Welcome to Casa Culp-Garcia!
You are going to LOVE your stay with us in our cozy NOPA home. We (Erica & Peter) are married, in our 40's & own a couple of bars that keep us quite busy so we are pretty scarce on work nights & enjoy being out & about on our days off. So make yourself at home and settle in to the room!
Spacious, sunny & private, your room is one of two bedrooms in our 2 BR apartment. The bed is a comfy queen with soft linens, lots of pillows & a down comforter. There are lots of beautiful plants, succulents & orchids all over the apartment and your room is especially green. We have a mounted flat screen HDTV with access to a fully loaded Comcast XFinity cable box so watch as much tv or movies as you like (no pay per view). You have a large closet to hang your clothes, a full dresser and access to an iron & ironing board. We even installed a sweet little desk so you will have a place to write out postcards or enjoy your morning tea or coffee. But feel free to explore the casa.
The decor is an eclectic mix of modern, vintage & Americana styles. The bathroom is shared (with us) and is stocked with plush bath-sheets, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner & body wash. We have a large, well stocked kitchen that is perfect for cooking your own meals with locally foraged delights found all over the city. We love to cook so our kitchen is ideal for the home chef. Free WiFi is available all throughout our home (even in the bathroom). The cozy living room boasts a big sofa, leather chair with ottoman, extra large flat screen HDTV, stereo & iPod hook-up. Cable access is available there too, so stretch out, cuddle up & stay in for the night (we do all the time and are not even one bit ashamed). The building is clean, quiet and is home to very friendly neighbors. Oh, and there's a laundry right downstairs if you need to rinse your threads...grab a coffee from Ali at the Cafe...he brews the best available in the hood.
We are just blocks away from the historical & psychedelic Haight/Ashbury district so go shopping, check out the bars & grab a bite. We are also 4 blocks from the up & coming Divisadero St. Corridor that boasts one of the best Gourmet Ghettos, EVER. Don't miss NOPA (the restaurant), Bi-Rite (amazing specialty foods), Nopalito for kick ass Mexican foods, Bar Crudo for the freshest raw fish & seafood or Faletti's Market for all the ingredients necessary to create an awesome meal in our awesome kitchen. You will be walking distance to Golden Gate Park (Academy of Sciences & The De Young Museum), Alamo Square Park (Painted Ladies!), Buena Vista (breathtaking views & butt busting hills) and of course the Panhandle. If you need to go farther than your legs can carry you, the hood boasts many convenient lines of transportation.
Located right on the 21 Hayes line, 1 block from the 43 Masonic, 2 blocks from the 5 Fulton, 4 blocks from the 24 Divisadero and 6 blocks from the 6, 7 & 71 on Haight St. All adults ride for $2. Download the UberCab app on your smartphone for round the clock taxi service...it's Uber-awesome.

Erica and Peter have a beautiful home, and the room is even better than it seems in the already stunning photographs. The welcome was wonderful and welcoming, with lots of sweet notes around the home as they were out when we arrived.
The neighborhood is in a fantastic location with great transport links.
I didn't like that my mother couldn't stay at my house, so having her somewhere nice was very important to me. I felt great having her in the home of two very caring personalities.
I would recommend this spot to anybody using air bnb to explore our wonderful city!
we had a wonderful time in your flat :) you showed us a lot of places where to go. downtown was 10min by bus and the golden gate park was just around the corner
We really had a wonderful stay with Erica and Peter. The room is bigger than it appears in the pictures and just as sunny and bright and clean. Little touches also enhanced our visit: tissues by the bed, water and glasses in the room, dressing gowns, side desk, guide books and laundry basket.
The bathroom was super clean with big soft towels and wonderful airplants
Erica and Peter are friendly and knowledgable hosts and full of great advice, recommendations and chat.
Check out local NOPA restaurant 5 mins walk from the house and one of the best in San Fran (there are loads of other decent eats locally but this one is the best) . Also very close by are Haight, NOPA valley (good for shopping), CASTRO is a walk away. Easy to get (website hidden): Peter mixes a mean coctail too...
We had a wonderful stay. Location is perfect and easy to get around with public transportation. Erica and Peter are great and very nice.
Erica hosted one of my co-workers for a trip to a conference (I booked the room for him). Here's what he had to say after the visit:
"This was one of the best welcomes I've received at a new and unfamiliar city. They showed me my room but also gave me directions around town. I don't think I would have had successful business conference without them."
I had a great stay here. Erica & Peter were very welcoming. Their place is well situated. The place was beautiful and clean. I would highly recommend staying here if you are going to San Francisco!
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our (5 night) stay here a great deal. Everything was immaculate... The place was bright, sunny, and spotless... hosts were very accommodating... the area is fun... there's a bus line that goes straight downtown... couldn't have asked for anything better. I had to work while I was there, and they even had a cute little desk in the bedroom, a coffee shop / cafe on the ground level of the building, and the wifi worked perfectly. They even threw in a few "extra's" in the form of an event at the bar they manage, and inviting us to eat with friends. Thanks again!
Erica and Peter were very helpful navigating the neighbourhood, I felt comfortable and free to move in and out as I pleased. They are natural hosts!
I did wake up to snoring a few nights! So, if you're a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs :).
This was my first Airbnb stay and it could not have gone any better! Erica and Peter were the best hosts...their tips on meals, nearby attractions and local activities are spot-on so listen to them!! (LOL).
Everything from the room to the common areas were spotless and I love how they just ask you to make yourself at home and mean it. You couldn't find a better space if you tried : ) FYI: for those possibly working while in town, I actually got quite a bit of work done at the in-room desk: the internet connection was fast and the house quiet.
I would stay again without a second thought.
